And behold, while picking up one show in my hand at the fandom market, squinting at it in consideration and wondering, "is this the one?" I look to my left and see none other than @windsweptinred

Kinda in a between fandoms place.

My pockets stuffed full with my old fandoms, just in case I get peckish. While stood at the sampling stand, having a taste of everything. Waiting to discover that one thing that delights my taste buds so much, I'm going to be eating it non stop for the next six months.

I've been thinking of how the Endless siblings' duties and realms could overlap with each others.

Food for thought:

Dream and Death: People that die in their sleep. Dream leads their subconsciousness through his realm while waiting for his sister to find them. When she does, she guides the dreamer away, and Lucienne moves their books to the archives.

Death and Desire: Serial killers. Desire and Death meeting in blood-stained back alleys like a couple after a one night stand. (I picture this happened at least once or twice between Desire and Destruction when he was around, too?)

Death and Destruction: War. They follow after one another so closely that it's unfathomable. They've spent millennia huddled beside one another on scorched earth with shrapnel flying overhead. Inevitably, their paths will always intersect.

Dream and Desire or Despair: Are you joking? So many dreams. Wet dreams of both kinds: one is tears, the other is... Well, you know. What are dreams and nightmares if not the desires and dread of humanity, after all? (On that note, Delirium and Dream have to be quite familiar with one another's realms, don't they?)

Dream and Destiny: Prophetic dreams, duh. People have been misinterpreting the connection between these two for eons when, in reality, Destiny rarely permitted prophesy to creep into his brother's realm. On occasion, however, the pair will meet: a portion of the Dreaming fading into a maze or the Garden of Forking Ways suddenly blurring a right turn into Fiddler's Green.

Delirium and Despair: So many drug-induced stupors, so many drunken nights where alcohol aggravated an emotional wound. Delirium and Despair would practically dance around one another- Okay, so only Delirium is dancing, but still. And for those who are desperate for release from their despair and seek it out by ruining themselves, I think Desire enjoys occasionally strolling in on their sisters' meetings and lounging with them for awhile.

Death and Destiny: They are the two absolutes. Both of them are the only true certainties in the universe. They are what will happen no matter what. Destiny will proceed- even if it changes- and everything will die. These two will always overlap with one another more than everyone else, I think, even if they don't speak of it.

And those are just the ones I thought of for now. The possibilities are (teehee) endless.

Or have a reason to help him but did?#Like Aeolus 'helps' by trapping the storm for him but is definitely playing a game and sets it up against Ody #Hermes arguably is also looking for entertainment but the help he gives is ACTUALLY helpful??#He doesn't obviously do everything for him in Dangerous but he helps #Hermes never negatively impacts Odysseus as a person or his journey to get home

I hope that we hear sections of "harps and arps" during the Ithaca Saga to show that Hermes is there to guide the souls of the dead suitors to the Underworld like in The Odyssey.

Imagine Calypso wasn't just being poetic when she started singing "Not Sorry For Loving You."

Imagine she is actually repeating verbatim what Hermes said to her. They don't fight, but Hermes does twist the proverbial knife in, so to speak.

Imagine Hermes actually came down with a smile on his face and no sympathy as he told her that he was taking Odysseus away, that she would never get to see his face again, and that he was not hers to have.

Imagine if she argued with him, and Hermes only shrugged, saying that "[she] ambushed him and came on too strong, so [she] shouldn't be surprised if he hates [her]."

AKA an AU where Hermes is cruel when he tells Calypso that Odysseus is being set free from the island.

After Ody gets home and, of course, slaughters all the suitors and reunites with his wife and son, that man absolutely sat down with a council and immediately pulled out schematics, like:

"Cool, cool. So, first things first: We're building new temples for Athena and Hermes. What? Placement? Oh, yeah... Just knock down the Poseidon one. It's fine. I stabbed that God, like, 20 times into submission. Pretty sure that means the ocean is my b*tch now....And f*ck that guy anyways, am I right? So, for Athena's temple, I'm definitely thinking blue✨-"
