Not really in the DC fandom and I don't really read many comics but I've been seeing some videos and posts making headcanons about the Al-Ghul family being Muslim and it pisses me off so much.

This interpretation is deeply rooted in Islamophobia and the ignorant notion that every Arab is a Muslim and therefore a "terrorist". The Al-Ghuls are not and have never been Muslims and any parts of the religion found in their characters are likely due to the fact that Arab culture has a lot of aspects of Islam mixed into it and because again, people think that being Arab and being Muslim are the same thing and a lot of the comic writers are white Americans who commonly have this misconception about Arabs.

I'm not going to go into the specifics of everything because 1) I don't know all that much about canon and 2) this is a little hard to explain but I will give several examples that pretty much disprove that headcannon because The Al-Ghuls do things that are considered major sins in Islam on the daily.

Ra's runs an assassin league/cult and despite what many people think killing people is a major sin in Islam except in very specific scenarios where it may be excused like in self-defence or in war. And what the Al-Ghuls do? That isn't excusable in any way.

Ra's' name in and of itself is proof. His name means the Demon Head and I promise you a proper practicing Muslim would not call themself that or commit the atrocities he has on innocent people. I don't know if this is true but I saw on the wiki that apparently a character named Gerhardt asked him if he was a man or a fiend from hell and Ra's, said that he was both and neither and that he was "Ra's al-Ghul". A Muslim would not associate themself with Hell, a place where evildoers are punished in the afterlife.

Talia committed zina (fornication), yet another major sin, and wears extremely revealing clothing despite the fact that modesty is an integral part of the religion.

The Al-Ghuls drink wine, eat pork and apparently Damian was often fed ox blood soup as a child despite the fact that all these things are explicitly forbidden for Muslims to consume in verses of the Quran. (To clarify a bit, in case you're confused about the ox blood soup, Muslims are forbidden from consuming animal blood because it is considered filthy and harmful, much like pork and wine.)

Not to mention the whole thing about Ra's nearly being 500 years old and the Lazarus Pits apparently reviving him every time he dies... but that's a whole can of worms I don't know enough about to open

So yeah, the headcanon that the Al-Ghuls are Muslims perpetuates harmful stereotypes about Islam as a whole. There probably is more to be said about this topic but unfortunately, I haven't read many comics and have only watched a few of the DC animated movies so I can't say much more.

Guardian Deity Spirit Danny

"In the spiritual realm, there are specific steps a being can take to ascend to the status of a god, with certain restrictions defining what a god truly is. Typically, a deity emerges as a result of being worshipped by a group of people, their worship infusing them with divine energy and granting them godhood.

They can be born from an unconscious belief or concept, such as the worship of the moon or nature. Over time, this belief gains sentience and power through the devotion of their followers.

They possess spiritual powers and establish a cult, amassing considerable influence and strength.

They are born from another god.

They achieve godhood by defeating and absorbing the essence of a pre-existing god, embodying their concept.

This means that even if a being is incredibly powerful, like Clockwork, they must be worshipped by someone to attain godhood. So...

In the Infinite Realms, time operates differently than in the outside world. I believe that since the Realms exist beyond space and existence, serving as the cosmic glue holding the multiverse together, they remain separate from the flow of time.

So, my idea is this: Danny is already immensely powerful, as he embodies the balance between life and death. Because of his connection to Clockwork, this being occasionally sends him on time-traveling missions, perhaps for preparations related to kingship. As a result, he appears in various places throughout history, safeguarding people and cultures. Over the centuries and millennia, people begin to worship him, seeking blessings and offering sacrifices.

Usually, this would lead the Justice League to believe that he's simply a very old being. However, what if he truly is ancient?

As I mentioned earlier, a god's powers are derived from belief, and this belief gradually transforms the deity. Here's my take:

Batman might insist, "I know you're Danny Fenton," until a summons or a crisis causes Danny's godly side to surface. This aspect of him is truly ancient, as time doesn't flow conventionally in the Infinite Realms. Consequently, Danny could be three years old in terms of his death, yet also an ancient entity. Nonetheless, he remains physically too young to fully comprehend his true power and existence, resulting in considerable confusion.

Ultimately, there are two interpretations:

The Justice League ends up believing that Danny is either a) a vessel for a god, b) a sort of priest, or c) the physical incarnation of a bored god curious about experiencing humanity.

Ghosts do not treat him like a typical ghost child because, due to the nonlinear nature of time in the Zone, his core possesses the essence of an ancient being. The ghosts perceive him as the rebirth of balance, incarnated as a human to restore equilibrium.

Feel free to use this concept for any story or interpretation you find compelling."

I've seen a lot of posts talking about Gallicea and Cassandra as siblings, but not many talking about that fact that Sol is cannonically Cassandra's brother. I can't stop thinking about Sol - her big brother who let Cassandra's own followers betray her and never tried to help. He officiated Cassandra's marriage and then swallowed up her wife's domain. Even now, his followers are menacing her single remaining cleric, trying to get her kicked out of school and convert her - which, by the way, would kill Cassandra. I hope Fantasy High Senior year is just "we're level 20 and we're hunting Sol for sport."

Hey, I had a question: What do you think is up with the Hunter? What IS the Hunter? What's his deal? Dude seems like the most mysterious character in the whole game aside from, like, Hegemol or Dryya. We know some little details, but nothing solid. Also, what is the Mark of the Hunter supposed to be? Is it just a random object or something deeper? I've got no thoughts on this at the moment and just wanted your thoughts.

The Hunter is one of those characters that is a bit difficult to theorize about because he was very clearly created as a way to incorporate a bestiary into the game,

And so for the sake of the gameplay, he has so much information and experience that from an in-universe perspective can come off as convenient and almost implausible in some cases,

But still it's fun to come up with in-universe possibilities!

Even when it doesn't seem as though there is much intention behind the character outside of what he adds to the journal aspect of the gameplay.

Here's a potential theory my sisters and I have incorporated into our series~

The Hunter is a descendant of the void worshippers from the ancient civilization.

He is much larger than any mortal bug that we see in the game, which is one aspect the ancient beings of Hallownest seemed to possess. They were giants.

His dark and imposing figure also resembles the glimpses we get of what remains of those beings.

Our idea is that his direct ancestors were banished from the main civilization before its destruction,

And he was born either somewhere in the uninhabited outskirts of Hallownest, or in the wasteland just outside its borders, where they had fled to centuries ago.

He has no knowledge of these ancestors himself.

He is loyal to no king or ruler, he has no tribe, follows no creed.

We know that he had a family, siblings, but they are no longer with him. And we know that they were Hunters too.

The next part of our theory does center around the Hunter's mark!

So here is a quote by the Hunter about the mark-

"You bear the mark now, but that's only the beginning. That mark will become a part of you, will engrave itself deep within, and that yearning to hunt... It will never leave"

So our idea is that this mark was originally a spell, created by his void-age ancestors, that when engraved into one, causes them to obtain an unsatisfiable desire to kill.

Creating the spell is what had his ancestors driven from civilization,

It was probably lost or hidden at some point

But it was discovered agian by the Hunter's more recent lineage, who gave it a new title and passed it onto their children.

The Hunter has been affected by the magic properties of the mark all his life,

And as it has become a symbol of his small caste, which, because he has no children of his own, he adopts the knight into,

He passes it down to the knight as a way to honor it.

This could lead to an interesting post-canon storyline in which the spell begins taking effect, and little Ghost becomes a danger to the (no longer infected) people of Hallownest as a result. And then its siblings and friends have to uncover and remove the mark from Ghost in order to break the spell blablabla (this is the plot to an episode in our New Hallownest series XD)

Anyways. Random Ghosts AU thought but. Bdubs, having been worshipped as a god in life. Probably thinking of himself as an aspect of the gods. Was uh. Probably expecting something different for his afterlife huh. Probably didn't feel very good to end up stuck as a ghost for like 12,000 years. Especially when so many of those were spent. Alone. Trapped on a relatively small parcel of land to spend your eternity on. Probably felt a bit like being abandoned by the god he dedication his life to huh

I think about that moment between the Arch Heart and Emira... I think about the moment where the Arch Heart felt that the only person he could truly say "hey man, I'm fucking tired" is with the person he didn't consider family

I think about how trauma is hard to process and makes the people you share that trauma with unreachable in terms of communication

That because they share the same pain, they are less willing to be honest with each other. And the moment a "third party" that doesnt have their shared history comes in, the Arch Heart gets a moment of catharsis

I think a lot about how for as vaunted and all powerful the gods are, they are also in desperate desperate need of salvation

I've had this funny little idea for a while, where the firece diety doesn't have white hair, he has rainbow hair, actually. And I guess he's a messy representation of every Link ever just jammed together, and his "voicelines" (screaming) will be every Link's voice clips sorta glitched together like all off them were put in a blender at once. Idk. Excuse the messy sketch. I'm in pain and too lazy to put a lot of time into this.

..anyway to continue on what I was going on before I think it’s insane the way the DE fandom treats Harry as a kawaii sinnamon roll given what we’ve seen of him in canon: yes he is mentally unwell and that does put him in vulnerable positions but that doesn’t exempt him from the fact he’s continuously terrorized his ex throughout the years & wtf is she gonna do? He’s a cop. She can’t just get a restraining order on him. And the children too, the amount of people I see who antagonize cuno and cunoesse completely unironically for being, what, children who don’t trust the police is insane.

It’s like Harry is given a free pass to victimize people who can’t fight back against him because of his authority as a cop/adult/man and people just let it be because “well he’s so funny haha tie man!”
