Lmao the panels are so unorganized
I like to think that each batkid had a different experience with their first Gala for example,
Dicks first Gala was hectic but he enjoyed the attention in a way,Bruce only brought him to a Gala a few months after he adopted him so he can settle down more. Dick enjoyed the attention for the most part, reminded him of performing again just.. socially
Jason was STRESSED. When more then 5 people tried talking to him ran away sobbing cause bro did not prepare for all that
Tim was pretty neutral,he'd gone to Galas before, maybe not as big but he just didn't really react as much, the most chill imo
Steph was having the time of her life, she started talking to all the media interviewers, thought it was funny how rich people think and act like (mimicked their behavior to fit in and hear about CEO gossip that she'll tell the others about)
Duke is a little stressed cause he expected big but not THAT big. He kept his distance from the crowd at first but slowly started talking more,he didn't mind but it wasn't the best experience
Cass was overwhelmed but she set her boundaries immediately and just left if someone didn't get the hint. Would go completely silent if someone annoyed her too much and they'd just back off
Damian is just looking down on everyone there but still keeps a slight face. He had to be constantly scolded for running his mouth too much . He'd just be starting his genuine opinion on someones outfit but it'd come off as offensive (he had to go through PR training)
Map appears and disappears through out the Gala, you see her talking to a big group of people then she's gone for like five minutes, but overall she thinks it's interesting to see how all the major socialites talking to one another
Barbara talks to a few people but mainly just chilled around and talked to Dick during her first Gala, they just did their own thing while the adults around them did theirs

# HOW BATBOYS REACT TO YOU WEARING THEY'RE COLOR ── .✦ ( eg. nails, clothes, anything ⋆౨ৎ˚⟡˖ )
a/n: so I first did a small idea of this (here) and then I thought why not do it based off this anon (here) so yeahh, anyways I kinda fell so off course like genuinely I need to make more batboys content, tags: (batboys x reader)
© dollishmehrayan — ( all rights reserved to me. These works cannot be reposted, translated, or modified. Thank you for understanding dollies! )
DICK GRAYSON ── .✦
Dick notices instantly. He’s hyper-aware of the blue.
“Wait, are those nails painted Nightwing blue? Babe, did you do that for me?” Cue the biggest grin you’ve ever seen.
Compliments you non-stop. He’s not subtle about how much he loves it.
“You’re really pulling off my color, you know. Almost makes me think you’re trying to steal my spotlight.”
Gets extra touchy holding your hand, brushing your hair back, etc. “You’re so cute I can’t even deal right now.”, “It’s just blue and black colored nails dick.”
If it’s a clothing piece, he’ll joke, “Matching outfits for day? Say the word, and we’ll be Gotham’s most fashionable duo.”
JASON TODD ── .✦
Jason notices but plays it cool at first. “Nice color choice,” he says casually, though he’s dying and resurrecting inside.
If it’s your nails “You’re carrying my whole brand on those hands. Should I start paying you royalties?”
If it’s clothing, “Careful, babe, wearing red this well might make you a target and you might be mistaken for me.” But his smirk shows he’s all for it.
Low-key proud you’re repping his colors but doesn’t know how to express it well. Might just stare a little longer than usual.
Ends up pulling you closer while murmuring, “You look good in my color. Too good.”
Secretly starts thinking of ways to return the gesture, like wearing something in your favorite color. (He’s hoping it’s not absurd neon colors😭)
TIM DRAKE ── .✦
Blushes immediately. He’s not even subtle about it. “Wait… is that red because of… me?”
Obsesses over the details. “Did you match your nails to the exact shade of my suit? That’s, like, the coolest thing ever.”
Super flustered but also unbelievably touched. “I didn’t know you liked my colors that much.”
If it’s a clothing item, he’d be stunned for a moment before saying, “You look so… wow. You’re killing it.”
Gets a little shy but can’t stop glancing at you all day. Ends up fiddling with your hand if it’s your nails.
Might text you later "Thanks for making my day with that. You didn’t have to, but I really, really loved it.”
DAMIAN WAYNE ── .✦
Notices instantly but acts unimpressed. “Hmph. So you’re inspired by me today?”
Low-key thrilled but refuses to let you know. If it’s your nails, he might sarcastically say, “Subtle.” But he’s secretly staring.
If it’s clothing, “Green suits you. Perhaps you should wear it more often.” It’s his way of saying you look amazing.
After some time, he’ll let his walls down. “It’s not awful… You look better in my colors than I do.”
Will absolutely brag to Alfred or the others about it later. “Clearly, they understand quality when they see it.”
Ends up gifting you something else in his colors—maybe a scarf or bracelet—just to see you wear it again.
BRUCE WAYNE ── .✦
Bruce notices immediately but doesn’t say much at first. He’ll just give you that classic Bruce Wayne smirk.
If it’s clothing, he’ll subtly comment, “You look good in black. Suits you.” (High praise from him)
If it’s nails, he’ll gently take your hand and examine them. “Interesting choice. Are you sending a message, or…?”
Deep down, he’s really touched but doesn’t know how to express it. Might make a dry joke like, “So you’re my sidekick now?”
Later, when you’re alone, he’d admit, “It’s nice seeing you in something that reminds me of… us.”
Low-key loves the idea of you wearing his colors often. He’d never say it outright, but his actions like buying you more black and yellow pieces make it clear (to a point half your dresses were either black or yellow even you’re gold jewelry has yellow hints and accents😭😭)

Family Sports Day [PTA Rivals Sequel] | Batfam x Batmom x Batsis
Synopsis: With Valerie now in school, Vivian and Bruce are, once again, active in the PTA at Gotham Academy, along with old rivals.
When was the last time the entire family came together? The holidays? Valerie's birthday? Thanksgiving – no, Duke spent that with his family and Jason was out of the country for a job, and Dick and Barbara decided to spend it with the Gordon family that year. It's been a while since they saw each other, and when they looked at it, one of the rare times they all were together – that was not for their superhero work – was for Valerie.
Life was just really busy for them, Vivian would remind them whenever Jason and the others would feel bad for not being able to attend any supposed family holiday (but they make sure to shower her with gifts of appreciation for Mother's Day). They know about that reality too. That was their entire childhood afterall. Compromises, missed schools, missed holidays.
But when Valerie called all of them using her mother's phone to tell them about Family Sports Day at school…
How can they say no to that? Especially when she said to them in their video calls: “We have a Family Sports Day at school this Friday – will you be there?”
Jason was in Hong Kong when he got the call, Dick was running around Bludhaven chasing a criminal with Oracle behind the computer and transmitting the call to them both, Tim was with the Young Justice (Kon, Cassie, and Bart were there in the background). Everyone was busy but how can they say no to that?
Or maybe it was the sight of Damian and Duke at the background who had the face saying: you better be there.
No – it was definitely because Valerie asked them, and the fact there were “a lot of games for big brothers and big sisters to play” – her exact words. They were going to win all of that for her.
Now, with Family Sports Day there, Valerie was happily playing a game with Damian as their family drove to her school.
Looking at the rear-view mirror, Vivian smiled at the sight of Damian and Valerie, and the fact they wore similar shirts with the family team jersey – they were Team Red (which gave Vivian the excuse for her to wear the Manchester United shirt merchandise for the event).
“Are you excited, Val?” Vivian asked her six-year-old daughter.
“Yes!” Valerie answered. “Are you going to play, Mom?”
“Yup, I'll make sure to win the Mom's Sprint.”
“How about Da?”
Bruce glanced at the mirror from the driver's seat and answered: “I'll play with the Dads. And I think your brothers and sisters will also be there.”
“Todd mentioned that they have group sports,” said Damian. “We'll play there.”
“What about Grandpa?” Valerie turned to Alfred, who sat beside her car seat.
Alfred smiled sincerely and said, “Not today, Ms. Valerie. The Doctor said I mustn’t exert too much effort today.”
“It's okay,” Valerie held her grandfather's hand. “We'll just eat ice cream.”
“Yes, I would very much like that.”
Arriving at Gotham Academy, Vivian and Bruce noticed the familiar car and motorcycle in the parking spaces. Dick and the others were already there, and they have probably found a spot for them to settle in. They were right, because when they got to the huge field inside of Gotham Academy’s campus, they found Dick and Barbara setting up the picnic blanket, Jason setting down the cooler with Duke bringing the drinks, and Tim buying from the food trucks that the PTA got for the event, with him were Cassandra and Stephanie.
“Jay!” Valerie let go of Damian and ran across the field to greet him.
Jason grinned and opened his arms to catch her, when she tackled him, Jason lifted her off the ground and lets her hug him tightly. “Hey, bug,” he greeted her.
“Jay, I missed you! Where did you go this time?”
“Hong Kong, but before that I was in Japan, and I got this for you,” he dug in his pocket and pulled out a small wooden doll that had a painted face, hair, and kimono.
Valerie accepted the gift and thanked him for it. “Are you staying to play today?”
“Yeah, and I'm gonna win all of it.”
“Jason, we're signed up for the obstacle course and volleyball,” Dick reminded him. “They're team sports.”
“I'll still win them.”
“You're playing volleyball?” Stephanie asked. “Cass and I are signed up for soccer.”
“Football!” Valerie corrected her, teasingly.
“Yeah, yeah,” Stephanie tickled her. “I miss you!”
“Hi, Val!” Cassandra held the girl's hand.
“I'm glad that you all came,” Bruce told Dick and Barbara.
Dick and Barbara chuckled as they remembered how Valerie called them.
“It's not like we could say no to that call,” said Barbara. “Valerie knows how to get everyone together.”
“Barbara,” Vivian greeted the woman with an embrace. “Haven't seen you in a while now. How is everything?”
“Great,” Barbara said. “Settling in at Bludhaven. You?”
“Could use a drink, and I'm glad that Val's happy and that everyone's here too. I guess this is our family reunion for the year, huh?”
“We'll see.” I’m glad that everyone’s here, but looking at our crowd and the others… I think we kind of overdid it.”
Barbara raised a brow at her, teasingly. “Really? I mean, in the big brother category, Dick and the others seem to be much older and bigger than the rest. Tim, Duke, and Damian seem to be the only ones who actually fit the category.”
“I know, but is it really bad if it’s because of…”
Right on cue, a woman appeared just beside their picnic sight was a woman that Bruce and Vivian did not expect to see there. After all, Sharon Lawford’s kids have graduated from Gotham Academy, so what was she doing there?
“Vivian, wow!” Sharon greeted her. “It has been a long time since I saw you and in Gotham Academy too!”
Vivian and Barbara shared a look before she faced the woman with her practiced smile. “Sharon, it’s been a while. I wasn’t expecting you to be here.”
“Well, when my grandson asked me to come for Family Sports Day, I couldn’t say no. I see the whole pack is here,” she nodded to the direction of Bruce and the others who were getting ready for the day and watching over Valerie as she did pull-ups (assisted by her father) on a tree branch.
“When Valerie told them about Sports Day, they couldn’t say no either. I guess your whole family is also here,” Vivian gestured to the Lawfords at their spot.
“I do have more than one grandchild, Vivian. They all go to Gotham Academy, so it’s only normal that everyone would be here.”
“Right, and what a coincidence, they’re all in the same team,” Barbara pointed out.
“I know, right! What a coincidence, it’s like it’s meant to be! When we found out, we had shirts made – see!” She turned to her back to show the customized shirt that had — “Team Lawford!” Sharon said.
“That’s nice,” Vivian said as she pinched Barbara to stop snickering. “I’m glad that everyone’s there. Val’s just glad that everyone got together for this day, and that she and Bunny are on the same team.”
“Bunny Vreeland?”
“Yes. I better get back and see that everyone’s settled in for the day. See you on the field, I guess?”
“Just because I have beautiful grandchildren, Vivian, doesn’t mean I can’t do a little exercise. Who knows, we might go against each other in the games!”
Vivian ended the conversation there and went away with Barbara and whispered to the woman’s ear: “She’s going down.”
“Dick did say that you and Bruce have some sort of rivalry with the Lawfords.”
“She’s a complete ass!” she hissed in a whisper. “Don’t think I didn’t see right through what she meant about going up against each other in the games – she’s in the grandparents’ games! I’m a Mom, not a grandparent! Mind you, I’m younger than her – Bruce and I have a six-year age-gap!”
Barbara snickered and wrapped an arm around the woman. “Okay, Mrs. Pryor-Wayne, let’s get you an ice cream to cool down before you destroy and recreate this entire universe all because of some old PTA rivalry.”
~*~
The first event was for the kids – this event was for them after all – with cornhole, where each eat are given pouches of sand to throw and shoot into the holes with scores written on each. Valerie and Bunny played with their classmates in this game, both doing their best in throwing the small pouches of sand to throw. The entire time, as Valerie waited and had her turn, her family were cheering her and Bunny on. Dick even got out his phone to take photos and videos of the event.
“Come on, Valerie!” Damian called out. “Remember our training!”
“Kick their asses — hey, hey, hey! That kid just pushed her! Hey, that's a foul!” Jason called out.
“Guys, calm down,” Duke told them. “Before we're asked to leave.”
“Damian – Jason, don't!” Vivian pulled them away before they could charge at the kid who accidentally bumped into Valerie and got her landing on her hands, but she did get up and raised a thumbs up at them saying that she was okay. “She's okay!”
It wasn't Valerie's team who won this game, it was Lawford's team – Team Green – who won and they were not shying out from gloating. Even Sharon and Warren Lawford had a look that says they won this one. But Valerie didn't care, she was having fun, she even cheered with Bunny and told her: “We’ll get them next time!”
“We better!” Bunny huffed and then said to their other teammates. “Sack-race team, you better win this!”
Bruce chuckled when he saw little Bunny Vreeland try to give a pep talk to her team while Valerie stood at her side and tried to focus for the next game.
“What a familiar sight,” Veronica Vreeland said, appearing at Bruce's side with ice cream.
“She reminds me of when we were in Gotham Academy,” said Bruce. “Bunny sure is very much like her mother.”
“Well, of course! And I see Valerie’s no different from you when we were kids.”
“And that is?”
“Minding her own business and obsessing on the next game… she might have Vivian's eyes but she does have that look you always have before any game.”
Bruce turned to his daughter and saw her sitting on the grass with the others, quiet, her eyes looking into nothing, while she listened to whatever Bunny Vreeland was telling her now.
After the sack race, which Lawford's team won again (“Are you sure those kids aren't on steroids?” Jason whispered to Dick), it was the long jump, which Valerie was a part of for both events: the standing long jump and the running jump.
“You can do this, Penny!” Stephanie called out.
“Come on, Baby!” Vivian cheered.
“Remember our training!” Damain called out.
“Just relax and make sure to tuck and roll when you land, okay?” Dick reminded her from the sidelines.
Hearing their cheers and reminders, Valerie threw them a thumbs up and said: “Okay!” then waited for her turn. First to do the jump for their team was Bunny for the standing long jump. She set the record for everyone to beat, a couple of her teammates got close to her landing, some a little far off, when it was Valerie's turn, she got all her strength and jumped —
And landed just a couple of inches from Bunny's mark.
The loudest to cheer was Jason.
When it was the long running jump, Valerie was the last in the line. Like before someone set the record for everyone to beat, and those who followed either got close, were far off, or advanced from the mark. Then it was Valerie’s turn. The girl was quiet the entire time as she got her focus. When the teachers gave her the signal to go, Valerie started with a sprint, then made her jump at the mark, giving it her all. Upon landing on the sand, she tucked and roll and got on her feet to see the mark. She was far into the lead, setting the farthest record of all of her teammates and their rivaling team.
“YEEEES!” Dick roared and whistled. “YES! THAT'S MY SISTER! I TAUGHT HER THAT! SEE THAT –”
“Dick, calm down,” Tim told him. “People are staring.”
Seeing and hearing their cheers, Valerie ran back to her family for a snack – it was recess – all sweaty and covered in dirt.
“Nice one, kiddo!” Dick gave her a high-five.
“You did good, Valerie,” said Damian.
“Come on, man, you can do better than that!” Duke nudged him, then he turned to Valerie and gave her a fist-bump. “Good job, Vee.”
“Are you hungry, Val?” Vivian asked as she went to wipe the sweat off the girl's face.
Valerie nodded then joined her father and her grandfather at the picnic blanket where they congratulated her for getting the longest jump record. “Did you see that, Da?”
“I sure did,” Bruce chuckled and handed her a sandwich. “Don’t eat too fast or you'll get a tummy ache.”
Valerie nodded and munched away. When she saw Veronica and Bunny, she waved at them to join their blanket. Bunny wasted no time in running to where she was and joined their picnic, Veronica followed with their blanket and basket.
“I look at that,” Veronica nodded at the direction of Sharon Lawford. “Someone’s not too happy that Team Wayne is winning.”
Vivian chuckled. “Ronnie, it's not Team Wayne — it's Team Red.”
“Alright, whatever you say, your majesty. But come on, everyone knows who really is battling this out.”
“Da!” Valerie called for him. “Da, picture?”
Bruce excused himself from Ronnie and went to his daughter who he scooped off the ground and got on his shoulders, then held Vivian’s hand as they went to the booth where Dick and the others were waiting for them to join the photo booth.
~*~
The next event was for the older siblings, giving the kids time to rest a bit after all that excitement. It was the football match for the older sisters. Cassie, Stephanie, and Barbara went to their places – Barbara got called out by one of the parents, saying she wasn’t Valerie’s sister (it was Sharon who called her out), but then Barbara revealed her engagement ring and said, “by law, I am!”. Battling against Team Red was Team Green, or Team Lawford who had four Lawford young women in the field.
Barbara snickered and whispered to Stephanie and Cassandra: “This is going to be easy.”
“We’ll win this,” Cassandra said.
“I can do this in my sleep,” Stephanie teasingly yawned.
As they got into position, the other team were sure to see a totally different side of the three young women as a look of determination were on their faces. The whistle was blown, and Barbara was quick to get control of the game. She, Stephanie, and Cassandra ran across the field, passing the ball to each other and the other players of the team. But when it was time to score, it was Cassandra who made the striking kick and missed the Lawford goalkeeper by a hairline.
“GO, CASS!” Valerie called out from Jason’s shoulders.
“They’re taking this a little too serious,” Vivian whispered to Bruce and Alfred.
Alfred chuckled. “Well, they did promise Ms. Valerie that they would win the match.”
And true to their word, Team Red won the game with Barbara making the score.
Valerie cheered with her classmates and family for Team Red’s win.
The Lawfords were not too happy.
~*~
The day progressed with more games for the kids which the Red Team and Green Team battled over. Each win they had, the Wayne children were cheering for her, and then baseball for kids came, and Valerie was playing.
The hitters for the game was Team Red and Team Green as their opponents. The first to be a hitter was Bunny, and the girl was determined to win. When the ball came at her, Bunny hit it and started running, she got to the base just before the opponents could save the marker. Then, a couple of kids later, it was Valerie’s turn. She prepared herself with the bat, and when the ball came at her she hit it without hesitation and made a run for it —
Or not.
Just as she was to take a step, she tripped and landed on her face. Hard. Looking up, the girl saw the Catcher snickering at her and his foot out. He tripped her!
“Strike One!”
“Hold on! Valerie’s bleeding!” One of the teachers called out.
“Val?” Vivian and Bruce ran to her side, crossing the field to see her. When they got to her, Bruce helped his daughter to her feet and inspected what was wrong. The blood was coming down from her nose and her mouth.
“Val, is everything hurting?” Vivian asked as she prepared the spell to inspect any injury and heal them.
Though she had tears in her eyes, Valerie shrugged, then she spat on her palm, getting a cringed reaction from the Catcher, and showed too her parents what it was. “My tooth came out!”
Vivian and Bruce sighed in relief and laughed.
“Is that right?” Bruce said, taking the bloody tooth. He beckoned to Jason to bring the cold drink. “Come on, let’s get you to the blanket.”
“But the game’s not done,” said Valerie.
“Yes, but baby, you’re bleeding,” Vivian pointed out.
“I’m not hurt! My tooth just came out! I wanna keep playing, please.”
Vivian turned to Bruce and saw him smile and nodded. “Okay,” she sighed and wiped away the blood from her chin and her nose. “As long as nothing hurts.”
“I promise, Mom!” Valerie held out her pinkie.
Vivian hooked her pinkie with her daughter’s and kissed her fist as Valerie did the same with her own. “Okay. Your nose doesn’t seem to be broken and Momma fixed it too, to stop the bleeding,” she winked.
“With your fire?”
“Yup, with my fire,” Vivian fixed Valerie’s clothes, hair, and hat then said to the teacher, “She wants to keep going.”
“You sure? That looks like a lot of blood,” said the teacher.
“She’s a tough kid,” Bruce reassured them. “And she says she’s not hurt.” Turning to his daughter, he said, “Make them eat your dust.”
Valerie grinned.
“Here, baby bird,” Jason finally approached them. “Just to stop the bleeding and to clean your face.” He handed her a cold water bottle which she drank from and used to clean her face. “Knock em dead,” he winked at her.
Returning to the sidelines, Vivian and Bruce watched intensely as Valerie reassured her teachers that she was okay to play.
“That was a little too over the top, don’t you think?” Sharon Lawford approached them.
Vivian, this time, did not hide her rolling her eyes. “What is?”
“The way you both went to Valerie. Come on, it’s a sport. If she can’t handle it, she shouldn’t be out there.”
“My daughter is raised with five older brothers and two badass sisters, she’s had her fair-share of bumps and bruises. I know that she can handle it, but that doesn’t stop me from making sure she’s okay,” Vivian told Sharon. “And just so you know, Valerie can kick that little turd’s ass if she wants to.” She pointed at the Catcher’s direction, who happens to be Sharon’s grandchild.
“You dare call my grandson that?!”
“Yeah, I dare. If you’re going to fight dirty. I can’t wait to beat your ass in the games, Sherwin Lawford.”
Dick and the others were sure that steam was coming out of the woman’s ears as she glared at Vivian.
“It’s Sharon, and see you at the field, Vivian.”
“Oh you will! And the last thing you’ll see is my cute ass while you chase after me to the finish line!”
Before she could attack Sharon, Bruce wrapped an arm around his wife’s waist to keep her in place, then whispered to her ear, “Calm down. The game is about to start.” Then he placed a kiss on her neck.
Vivian let out a frustrated groan and went to face the game and focus on Valerie instead.
“This better be the last time I see that woman in Gotham Academy so help me–”
“Okay, time for ice cream,” Barbara handed Vivian an ice cream cup. “Cool off before you burn the whole field.”
“Trust me, this is calm, “ Vivian shoved ice cream to her mouth.
“Really? Because that doesn’t look like…” Stephanie trailed off but was stopped by Cassandra and said: “Mom’s calm.”
“What?”
“Yeah, Viv’s calm,” Duke told Stephanie.
“She’s really calm,” said Tim.
The game continued, and this time after Valerie hit the ball, she jumped over the foot that the catcher was about to push out and ran and ran and ran. She jumped over the others who were about to sabotage her run, and just as the pitchers were to touch base, Valerie skidded on the ground saving the marker.
“Safe!” The teachers called out. “Team Red wins this round!”
“THAT’S MY GIRL!” Vivian called out.
The next game, Valerie was the pitcher while Team Green were the batter. This was a piece of cake. She always plays catch with her brothers and her mother and father. Damian even taught her how to aim! The first throw--
“STRIKE!”
Lawford, the batter, huffed and prepared again.
When Valerie got the ball back, she prepared herself. It would take Lawford some time to get used to her throws, so it was okay to still use the same technique, so she did.
“STRIKE!”
Lawford let out a groan of frustration and prepared again.
Valerie had the ball again. This time, Lawford would know where the ball would come from and where it would be. So, she added a little twist to this throw. Instead of going with her Fastball, she did a Slider.
“STRIKE! YOU’RE OUT!”
Valerie smirked at the Lawford boy, and the boy cried at his loss.
In the end of the game Team Red won with Valerie’s continuous fast and unpredictable throws. It made the other dads and other kids wonder how a six-year-old would know baseball pitches and execute them – not as perfectly but she did them.
~*~
“It’s our turn now,” Dick got up. “Turns out, not many big brothers in our team, so I guess we’ll all head to the field… and that guy who volunteered to be the sixth player.”
Eating her snack, Valerie waved at her brothers as a way to say goodluck. It was the volleyball game this time and Bruce and Vivian knew that this was going to be interesting, especially when the opposing team consisted of Lawfords and Fallbrooks, and the fact those two families’ kids have been picking on Valerie and Bunny. This means war.
The boys were given numbered jerseys to help the referees identify the players easily. Their lineup was an interesting one, with Dick, Duke, and that other guy as middle blockers, Tim as the setter, and Damian and Jason as the Wing Spikers.
Vivian, who sat on the picnic blanket with Valerie sitting on her lap, and Bruce and Cassandra beside her, sighed as they realized how the game would look like. This wasn’t going to be a game at all. This was just obliteration to the opposing team.
“Want more apples?” Cassandra offered a slice to Valerie.
Valerie nodded and thanked Cassandra by crawling to her lap so they could watch them came together, giving Vivian the freedom to move around and be closer to her husband who offered her a bite from his food.
“I have a bad feeling about this,” Vivian said.
“I do too,” Bruce chuckled. “Who’s Val’s tooth — rather, lack of tooth.”
Vivian laughed. “She’s fine, she ate ice cream to stop the bleeding. I’m just glad that she’s okay.” The game started and the one to serve was Damian, and just as they expected the boy’s service was precise and targeted the spot that would make the setter and the wing spiker unable to move. Seeing that Damian was destroying the enemy side with his serves (Jason and Dick were already sitting on the ground, bored out of their minds), Vivian and Bruce decided to get some snacks.
“We’ll be back,” Vivian told Cassandra and Valerie.
“Okay – oh! Mom, can I have ice cream?” Valerie grinned cheekily.
“You already had ice cream earlier,” Bruce pointed out.
“But my tooth fell out,” she pouted.
Vivian smiled at her and then pinched her nose. “No. You’ve had enough ice cream.”
Valerie got out her mother’s teasing and snuggled in Cassandra’s embrace. “Mom!” She whined.
“How about an adobo tacos from the food truck instead? It’s almost lunch now anyways.”
“Okay!”
“You too, Cass?”
“Yes, Mom,” Cassandra nodded.
“You three too?” Vivian asked Alfred and the others. They all agreed to having tacos.
Walking arm in arm, Vivian and Bruce went to the food-trucks to get food for everybody, as they did, Bruce suddenly had a thought. Just between the two trucks selling vegan and vegetarian products, he pulled Vivian between them where no one was around, and had her against the wall.
“Bruce, what are you doing?” Vivian laughed.
“I missed you, that’s all,” He leaned down to kiss her. “You’ve been busy all week to help get this together.”
“And us sneaking between a vegan food trucks is your way to get us that much needed time alone?” She slung her arms just around his neck and brushed the whisps of his hair, just as she always does and he liked.
“I love our family —”
“Don’t even think about adding a ‘but’ to that, my love.” She had a teasing glare.
“—I really do, even if they tend to take every minute of our days and —”
“Cockbocks you?” Vivian smirked.
“Yes,” she got on her toes and kissed him again and again. “But it’s not like we can do anything here on school grounds.”
“I know,” Bruce nuzzled at the base of her neck, kissing that spot he knew she liked. “Then just a few minutes alone.”
“Okay, just a few minutes,” Vivian cradled him in her arms and let him hold her. “I missed you too, Bruce.”
“Val did good today.”
“She did. She’s very much like her father. A fighter.”
Bruce chuckled. “She’s very much like her mother… She's stubborn.”
A cough broke their peaceful moment. Bruce let out a muffled groan and got up as they faced Sharon Lawford and her husband, along with a band of moms from the PTA.
“Sharon,” Bruce greeted. “Warren.”
“Bruce, Vivian,” Sharon said with her mocking smile. “Must I always remind you that this is a school —”
“Yeah, yeah, we know,” Vivian held her husband’s hand. “It was just a hug. Not like I was giving him head, so calm down, Karen.”
“It’s Sharon.”
“That’s what I said. And, see you later at the games — and Warren, I think you and Bruce are going up against each other at the Dad’s basketball match?”
“And the family obstacle course – the mom, dad, and the child gets to play,” Sharon added.
“Right. See you then.”
~*~
Returning to their spot with food, the match just ended the first set with Team Red winning. According to Barbara, Damian eventually had to let the other team get a hit with his serves so there would be an actual game, Dick and Jason were already napping, while Duke and Tim were asking Steph for snacks while they waited for a rally. Still the expected results happened with the “Wayne boys”, as everyone called them, conquering the court.
Before the next set, Dick and Jason asked for a bite from their tacos and a drink before going back to their side of the court.
“We got you food right after you win this game,” Vivian told them.
“Oh, so it’s either we win or we don’t get food, huh?” Dick snickered. “Noted, didn’t know a lot is at stake.”
They won the next match without breaking a sweat, but they can’t say the same for their opponent with Jason and Damian’s powerful spikes, which were supported by Tim’s incredible setting, Dick and Duke’s blocking abilities.
“I think you broke those guys’ arms with your spikes, Jason,” Barbara pointed to the direction of the opponents seeking medical attention to see if they broke their arms receiving those spikes.
“Did you see that, Val?” Duke sat beside her. “We won the game.”
“Yeah! You did really great, Duke!” Valerie handed him his taco. “I can’t believe you can jump that high – higher than Dick! Can you teach me that?”
Duke laughed awkwardly. They were not supposed to tell Valerie anything about the vigilante lives of everyone in the family. “You know, Dick’s been training me at the gym. Maybe I can teach you how to jump that high, but you’re already great at jumping – I saw your game at long-jump.”
“But I wanna jump that high!”
“Val!” Bunny ran towards her and started pulling her. “Come on, the next game’s about to start!”
~*~
The next few games the children played for the scores they needed to win the trophy for their team. Valerie and Bunny were leading their whole group the entire time, adamant in getting the trophy. By the end of it, it was tied for both teams, and the only remaining games were the ones for the parents and the family-relay.
After the kids have tired out in their games, the moms were given a simple game of dribbling or rallying, using a soccer ball or a volleyball they have to keep the ball from falling to the ground for as long as they can, and each minute they keep the ball up would be a point. Vivian took the football while Sharon took the volleyball.
“May the best woman win, Vivian,” Sharon said.
“You too,” Vivian shrugged.
The game started and Vivian started dribbling the ball, using controlled kicks and receives to keep the football from falling to the ground and from flying off. Many moms have lost to the round before a minute could pass, then there’s Vivian who was determined to be in the game longer, and with her was Sharon who was doing her best.
Just as they were to pass the five-minute mark, Sharon’s ball knocked Vivian’s away from her, knocking them out of the game.
“Sorry, lost control for a second,” Sharon shrugged.
“I guess the only way to settle this tie with with the Dads’ basketball and the family relay,” Vivian said as they saw the score.
“I guess so.”
Walking back to her family, Vivian was greeted by pats on the back from them but she went straight for her husband who she pulled down to her height and said to him: “Destroy them.”
Bruce glanced at Dick and Alfred before answering: “Yes, Ma’am.”
Satisfied with his answer, Vivian went to pick up her daughter who was congratulating her for the high score.
“I wanna play football too, Mom!” Valerie said.
“We can play at the Estate, there's lot of space there.”
“I wanna do those things you did too!”
“Whatever you want, my baby girl!” Vivian kissed her cheek, making Valerie giggle.
When the Dads’ basketball started, Bruce was battling against Warren and the other dads in Team Green. He did have his team to help him in the game, but it was no surprise that Batman was a shooter. He didn't dunk, he would shoot two-pointers or three-pointers the entire time, and outrun his opponents.
To say that his team won was an understatement. Team Red obliterated Team Green, and Valerie couldn't be any prouder of her father for it. She ran across the field to congratulate him, and Bruce carried her on his shoulders so he could also get the congratulatory kiss from his wife.
“Do I get a prize?” He whispered.
“When we get home and if Val decides to sleep early tonight,” Vivian replied.
“I'm sure she will.”
~*~
The last game was family relay. It was supposed to be a three-part race, but then the issue of having twins in one of the classes was raised and they had to adjust it so it was now a four-part race. For Team Wayne, Damian joined the relay and promised Valerie that he was going to win the match for them.
At the starting part of the line were the kids, all wearing the team colors, and the baton that they will be passing, then a couple of paces ahead were the dads, then the siblings or cousins or volunteer proxies, and then the moms.
When the whistle was blown, the kids started to run. From the sidelines, Dick and the others cheered for Valerie as she ran, trying her best to get ahead of the other kids from the other teams.
“MAKE THEM EAT YOUR DUST, PENNY!” Bunny called out, startling Duke and Stephanie who were right beside the Vreelands.
“What can I say? She takes after her mom,”Veronica smirked at them. “Every Wayne needs a Vreeland to pull them out of their introvert-cave.”
Stephanie snorted at that. If only Veronica know how literal she was being right now.
From the last part of the relay, Vivian cheered for Valerie.
“Mrs. Wayne, I'm not sure if you remember me but I'm Sharon Lawford's daughter-in-law,” said the Mom beside her.
“I remember you, you and Dick used to be classmates at school. Laurie, right?”
“Yeah – well, that’s my nickname – it's Laura, but Laurie's fine. How is Dick, I hear he's engaged?”
Valerie finally reached her father to pass the baton, and Bruce was Batman-running and jumping across the obstacles to get to Damian before the other fathers could pass their batons.
“Yeah, and about time too. I've been rooting for them since they started dating, really,” Vivian chuckled. “And if they do plan to start a family, I don't mind being a grandmother.”
“It's nice to see that Dick's happy. You wouldn't know but we used to date back in school.”
“Did you now? That son of a bitch never told me,” Vivian snickered.
“You know, my son, Cal, would always talk about Valerie – I think he's got a little crush on her. I was wondering if you want to have a playdate with them — I know that you and my mother-in-law don't really get along that well, but I think, for the kids, it'd be nice if they were friends.”
Damian got the baton and was doing monkey bars without breaking a sweat.
Vivian turned to Laurie and smiled. “That would be nice. I'll ask Val if she wants to hang out with Cal. She's a kid with a big heart… but I can't say for that turd who tripped her.”
“Patrick?” Laurie laughed. “Yeah, he's my nephew and all, but he's a total ass.”
“I know!”
“He would shove boogers into Cal's ear, it's disgusting!”
Damian was almost there, and Vivian got ready.
“Nice chat but I got a race to win,” Vivian told Laurie.
“Mom!” Damian handed the baton, and Vivian ran. It was a sprint from here, and she was running fast across the field, racing neck-a-neck with the other moms, but she was paces ahead of them —
She crossed the finish line first.
At the board, the scores were placed, making Team Red the winner with the highest score of all the teams.
Seeing the win, Vivian slumped on the ground to catch her breath, but her peace was disturbed when Valerie tackled her to the ground.
“You were great, Mom!” Valerie said.
“Thank you, baby!” Vivian hugged her. “And you were great too! You ran so fast!”
“Don't I get a hug?” Damian raised a brow at Valerie.
Rolling her eyes, Valerie got up and tackled him to a hug too.
“Don't think I didn't see that,” Damian told her.
“You were great too, Damian,” Valerie grinned. “I wanna do the monkey bars as fast as you do!”
“Go, your team's getting the award.” He ushered her away to join her classmates and friends, leaving Vivian and the others on the grass being joined by their family.
“Water, Ma?” Jason offered her a bottle.
“Thank you, Jay,” Vivian had him sit beside her. “Good job everyone, you just made one little girl's day.”
“And you once again beat Sharon Lawford's ass,” Tim added.
“That's just a bonus,” Vivian leaned on her husband as they watched Valerie and the others get their photos taken with the trophy. “By the way, how do you feel about a playdate with Cal Lawford – Laurie Lafword asked if Val would be interested.”
“That's for Val to decide,” Bruce said.
“But you?”
“It's the Lawfords, Viv. Too many things are happening with them.”
“Maybe a when we head to the park instead.”
“Only in the park,” Bruce agreed.
Jason scoffed. “I wouldn't have any of them near the little bird at all.”
“For once, I agree with you, Todd,” said Damian.
Barbara snickered and said to Damian and Alfred: “And they say it's not about the rivalry.”

loving undoing fate so far!! this recent snippet of the og timeline is scratching an itch in my brain for angst and i love it 💕💕
I’m pretty sure ppl have mentioned it, but MC’s fate would’ve been avoidable if someone had actually properly trained her (looking at Babs in particular rn, seeing how she took training and giving her mantle to others a lot more seriously— both in canon and in this fic). Like… even if they didn’t have time (which is still bull, but wtv), Tim was literally sent to Paris to train in his early robin years, they could’ve sent her to train with someone else.
also, as much as i enjoy seeing dick suffer and become brutal in grief over his siblings, i think it’s a bit odd that he’s acting like he knew her all that well, considering how he didn’t even know where her room was or how to comfort her and talk to her after her argument with damian when she was 16 in the new timeline. I doubt much changed in those years from the og timeline. (This is not a nitpick of your writing, i just think it’s interesting he doesn’t acknowledge this, compared to Jason, who straight up says he failed her—Though, maybe it’s easier for him to see since he knew what it was like to actually be close to her before his death?)
sorry i rambled, but amazing work! i’m excited my holiday will be filled with reading this series!
-🥐 (i hope there’s no croissant anon yet, i chose this since, like several have mentioned, the mlb allegations and MC-Marinette allegations are strong lol)
glad you like the story so far <33
i wouldn’t say that barbara didn’t take mc’s training seriously. she did, though at the time when mc did decide to become batgirl, barbara was still going through a lot of things (like joker shooting her making her paralysed, her no longer being able to be batgirl and instead is still trying to find her footing as oracle) all of these factors build to her initially being unsupportive of mc taking up the batgirl mantle. but she realises later how much mc reminded barbara of her past self, which is why barbara gave in and helped her. but here’s the thing. technically, barbara isn’t responsible for mc. because mc is bruce’s child.
if you read batgirl 2000, you can see barbara was more involved in helping cassandra settle in with her vigilante work. and that’s because cassandra is barbara’s ward. so she is (and has to be) responsible for cassandra. and with cass losing her ability to read other people’s body language and having to relearn defense skills, i guess barbara shifted her focus onto cass more.
more of barbara and mc’s relationship will be explored in chapter 5/6 so maybe when i do post that, this will make more sense…¿?
also, i wouldn’t say that mc’s fate would have been unavoidable if she’d been trained properly. she is trained to a certain extent. mc was just at the wrong place at the wrong time. going in and fighting all those thugs whilst recovering from prior injuries she got from past patrols/missions, she pushed herself too much and was unable to recover and avoid the gunshots (i would say she was holding out on her own quite well before she was shot)
and tbf, i wouldn’t say dick is acting like he knew mc all too well (unless my writing does depict him that way, then mb 😭) i would say he’s still grieving and in denial that someone else—in his family—died. that’s his way of coping with mc’s death. he’s furious, he’s upset, he’s grieving, but there’s nothing he can do to make himself feel better, because he knows deep down that he failed mc. he’s just trying to come to terms with it i guess.
(mc is NOT marinette btw 🤨😒)
#💌#undoing fate#undoing fate asks#rizzanon#sorry i don’t even know if this made sense HAHA#i just started writing what came to my mind 😭#i really hope i didn’t somehow contradict myself with what i wrote here 🫠#never beating the mlb allegations#🥐 anon

Batfamily: what I think about each robin
(I'm only going to mention my thoughts on the robins that I have the most information about. Most of my knowledge comes from wiki, cartoons, movies, wayne family adventures and fanfiction. This is how I personally see them)
Dick Grayson: He is the performer robin, watch as flies through the air with ease. He's pure loyalty and deserves his own category as a hero. He is the blue print on which the legacy of robin is built on. He stands toe to toe with batman and grows to be better than him because he can be both darkness and light.
Jason Todd: The rebel robin. Just bravery and guts man. The bravest and boldest of the robins. Even when he is filled with so much fear, trauma and rage. With all the bad things that happen to him he still cares. Cares too much at times but that doesn't have to be a bad thing. That doesn't change the fact that he's so good. So good even with all the blood on his hands. Even with all the anger and violence. Jason still cares so much. You can obviously tell which ones my favorite. So I'm probably bias when it comes to him.
Tim Drake: Robin of compassion. The very essence of his robin is that he chose this. Batman needed a robin, no one else was there so he stepped up. Even if he started out with no training and no one wanted him there he became robin because batman and gotham needed one. Yes Tim is incredibly intelligent and cunning. But everything he's based on his his empathy and compassion for others.
Damian Wayne: Honestly I don't understand his reasons to be robin. I don't understand him. His robin being a legacy thing and being trained to fight from a young age. It's like they wanted to created a surprise robin that was related to batman that happened to be super violent and raised by assassins. Like the complete opposite of the other robins. Why does Damian even want to be robin? Because of his family? Because of his parents? Does Damian even like fighting or is that just something ingrained in him because of how he was raised? Damian is not my favorite robin but I do like parts of his character. Like when he loves animals and how he tries to bond with his siblings. I get why he is the way he is. But he's just again not my favorite.
Duke Thomas: I desperately want to know more about him. His powers sound really cool. His origins as well. I just really want a Duke Thomas movie or cartoon. He seems really sweet in wayne family adventures comics.
Stephanie Brown: Has to be my least favorite of the robins in general. Probably will get me a lot of hate for disliking her. I do not get her. Her character feels all over the place to me. She reminds me a lot of Annabeth from Percy Jackson series books and I don't like her much either. I'm probably being unfair. But it's my opinion. I feel bad for not liking her because everyone seems to love her, but I just don't get the hype.
And that's it, I know there's probably a few more robins I'm not mentioning. Especially someone name Carrie. But I don't know a lot about her. But yeah those or my thoughts on the robins. You can probably tell Jason and Tim are my favorite robins. Dick gets a category of his own because again he's Dick Grayson. I'll probably talk more later about Cass and Barbara once I watch more stuff with them. A separate post to add with Batwoman because they seem really cool.
(Don't like don't read. Post hate and I'll block you!)

Prompt:
Both Jason and Damian think the other has died during their time with the League.
Jason, in his grief, goes back to his plans of making Batman pay and beating his replacement into the ground.
Damian goes back to his assassin training like a madman, vowing to find the person who took Jason away from him.
It all gets a little complicated when he finds out Jason may not actually be dead at all.

Question for the DP fandom:
Do you think Danny’s hair turns white when it falls out? It’s technically dead cells anyway but when it naturally falls off his head, do you think it turns white? Because I think it would be hilarious if his hairbrush just has white hair, no black strands whatsoever, and his significant other thought the worst until they know his secret.

Batman has/had some kind of miscommunication going on with every single one of his kids. The bat family is just one big miscommunication trope after the other.
#him and Dick have miscommunication about how they see each other. Bruce sees Dick as a son and Dick sees Bruce as a father#but they didn’t think the other saw them that way so they never told each other. that’s what led to their fights in Dick’s later teenage#years and dick quitting and becoming nightwing. he thought Bruce only saw him as a ward/robin so he thought that as long as he couldn’t be#robin Bruce wouldn’t want him#and if didn’t help when Bruce stopped talking to him when he left. though to Bruce it was because he thought Dick didn’t want to talk to him#and also Dick really needs to tell Bruce like ‘hey you put me on a higher pedestal then you put even yourself which is saying something and#and I don’t like that cuz that’s too much pressure for me. and also since you did it everyone else does it and has done it since I was Robin#and it’s literally just a matter of time before I break from the pressure cuz I’m not fucking Superman and I can’t take it’#and Jason with the whole UTRH thing. you know all Bruce had to say was that he had tried killing the joker over Jason multiple times and#maybe just explain to Jason WHY he doesn’t kill. a simple ‘you’re better than me because if I killed one person I’d kill everyone’#or it could even just be a simple ‘I do love you Jason youre the kid that I felt most comfortable loving’#and also maybe a ‘I don’t think anything changed after my death and that makes my death meaningless which I think goes against your no kill#rule because I hat is the rule of not a reminder taht death means something. and by that logic my death already went against the rule so why#can’t you do it again for the man that murdered me.’ and Bruce needs to make a presentation: ‘all the ways Jason’s death meant something’#and Tim just needs a simple ‘I don’t see you as work I see you as family.’ maybe even a ‘you don’t have to be the grown up in this relati#anymore I’m sorry you were one to begin with. you should’ve always been the child’#now his miscommunication with Damian goes much deeper but I’m one hundred percent sure if they sit down and air out all of their feelings it#would help a lot but I have a feeling that won’t happen#a ‘I have trouble understanding you because both your trauma and compassion run deeper than mine and I also never had to grow up to be a#weapon’ from Bruce and a ‘I don’t understand your optimism and moral stubbornness and easness why is it so easy to be good for u?’#his miscommunication with Cass stems from two things a simple ‘why are you so afraid to show how deeply you love?’ from Cass maybe a#‘I’m jealous of you because you’re better than me not only in fighting but morally and emotionally’ from Bruce should fix it#and Steph— look I’m not even going to TRY to get into that that goes SO much deeer and wider than any one else’s miscommunication#but maybe a ‘you reminded me of Jason at a time where that wasn’t a good thing’ from Bruce should start things up#for Duke a ‘I can never truly understand what you’re going/have gone through and for that I’m sorry’ from Bruce should suffice#maybe also Bruce telling him that just because he sees Duke as a son doesn’t mean he’s trying any less to get Duke his parents back#oh and babs just needs to go up to him and say ‘I don’t like that what happened to me happened for your story and not mine and I don’t like#that you don’t let me make it into my story’ and then Bruce can follow up and say ‘I see so much of myself in you and it makes me worry and#also I can never look at you without feeling guilty cuz you’re right what happened to you happened for MY story so I’m at fault’#then the two can go back to being too much like each other and sitting at their respective computers

Would they or would they not catch you…
Dick: yes. 100% yes but he’s -no pun intended- a little bit of a teasing dick about it.
He will catch you but then act as though he’s going to drop you by loosening his grip, making you scream out of surprise and cling onto him tighter, all the while beaming that bright and beautiful smile of his as though he wasn’t about to willingly let you fall flat on your ass on multiple occasions.
‘I fucking hate you!’ You whined, smacking Dick on the bicep.
‘Oh do you now?’ Dick inquires as he slowly begins to losses his grip on you, smirking.
‘Did I say hate you? I meant love you, a lot! Please don’t drop me.’ You cried as you tightened your grip on his neck whilst struggling to keep your feet from touching the floor. ‘Awww I love you too gorgeous.’ Dick coos as he pressed kisses into your face as you could only glare at the cheeky bastard.
You hate him sometimes but you weren’t going to complain about the affection you were being given. So you guess you’ll suffer for now.
Side note: he might even try and see if you can catch him. 💀
Jason: He will catch you but makes it a big deal whenever he can. He loves holding you in his arms.
He could keep you in his arms forever if he could but knew that he can’t, so he settles for going about his day carrying you throughout the apartment instead.
‘You can put down any day now.’ You’d tell him but that only makes Jason tighten his grip on you as he moved in his makeshift library for a book to read.
‘No.’ He simply replied, scouring the many book titles in front of him in the hopes that one might speak to him. You pout. ‘What do you mean no?’ Jason then looks at you and says. ‘No means no. As in no I will not put you down because I do as I like and will not be told otherwise, so the cutie currently in my arms has to deal with it.’ He then smiles as he presses a kiss to your forehead before looking back towards the bookshelves.
You end up falling asleep in his arms and Jason couldn’t help but smile at how cute you were, even if you did look like the living dead.
Damian: says no but will in fact catch you without hesitation.
However if you do try to tease him about it, then he will drop you without a second thought. ‘You can catch yourself next time.’ He would say as he walks away, leaving you with a bruised ass. Titus -who saw the whole thing- would come up to you to make sure you weren’t genuinely hurt and encourage you to get up by nudging you with his head.
Don’t test him because he will do it and then act like the whole thing didn’t happen if you were to bring it up.
‘Dick.’ You’d say as you stood up.
‘I heard that.’ He’d call back, his voice echoing off the walls. ‘You were meant to.’ You reply. ‘And at least Titus came to check up on me to see if I wasn’t hurt.’ You’d add while scratching Titus behind the ear.
Needless to say you were more cautious when choosing Damian to catch you. However he does apologise for dropping you on your ass by gifting you something he himself drew by hand; He secretly doesn’t like it when you’re upset with him and will do anything to rectify it.
What a sweetheart.
Bruce: he’s too use to you pulling this type of shit that it’s basically muscle memory for him to catch you as you’re running towards him, all with a straight face mind you.
Be grateful because he risked a much needed bowl of Mulligatawny soup just to catch you in his arms, but then again the kisses you bombard his cheek is more than reward enough, a small almost missable smile appears on his lips as he then proceeds to carry you for the rest of the day as “punishment.”
( this only occurs when Bruce is feeling particularly affectionate or playful)
Much to your batkids -Dick, Jason, Tim, Damian, Duke, Cass and Steph- dismay. They’d want to use this as blackmail, but they know that it will backfire as you’ll probably hang the photo on a wall somewhere in the manor, reminding them of how disgustingly their parents can be when given the opportunity.

heyyyy ryyyyy <333
since ur requests are open i thought id go ahead and ask if you're mayhaps open to anything for batmom? i don't have a completely solid idea but maybe smn like batmom has been getting threats or maybe hate or smn from somebody and everyone's reactions and how they get hella protective?
obv no pressure and you definitely do not have to write this
hope you have a great day bb
Heyyyyy, so this grew hands and wrote itself, I hope you enjoy it. It did end up with a lot of backstory.
Earned Position
5.3k words
You knew this would happen. Once your relationship with Bruce got out there would be an influx of love and hate. You also knew that everyone else knew that as well. It was common knowledge than anyone around a celebrity of sorts would experience that.
Of course you did the normal things, turned off most notifications and only looked through areas online you knew would mostly be safe. You blocked tags and and only followed people you knew or ones who didn’t post about drama.
When you did stumble onto hate, you moved on. If someone kept sending you nasty messages you blocked them, when they made other accounts to keep sending the same things, you changed your settings so only those you followed could message you.
It wasn’t something you wanted to deal with but it was something you could handle. Something you started mentally preparing yourself for when Bruce’s attention on you lasted more than 4 dates, even more so when you caught yourself daydreaming about him.
You were not going to let random bitter people on the internet destroy your happiness like they did their own. Your family however, wanted to destroy what was left of your haters' happiness. Something you were trying to curb, but trying to tell a family of vigilantes who considered you the best mom in existence not to destroy your haters was like talking to a brick wall. Over the years, you had gotten used to it. It barely even registered anymore. But there had been a recent influx of the hate and while it didn’t bother you, it bothered the rest of your family. None of them could stand people talking bad about their mom.
While you hadn’t been there while the older ones were young, the second you had introduced yourself to them, you had taken a very important role in their lives. None of them realizing it at first. All of them had gotten used to the random women Bruce brought home that it took a little while for them to realize how important you were.
Dick wasn’t sure at first. Thinking you were just another girlfriend that wouldn’t last long. So he didn’t really interact with you much. Ignoring your existence when it wasn’t too rude, or at least obviously rude. Until one night when he was staying at the manor and had a nightmare about his parents death.
Bruce had an open bed policy. As long as there was still room for him, his bed was open. A policy he had started when Dick had gotten old enough he was worried he wouldn’t be allowed to go when he had a nightmare. Bruce had always reminded all his kids, that nightmares don’t go away just because you’re older and that needing comfort wasn’t something they would outgrow.
The thing was, you were there. Girlfriends didn’t mind when children did it but they never liked it when his adult kids did it. The shaking in his hands and the way he saw them fall in the darkness of every blink told him the only way he was getting any sleep was with someone.
Hopefully he could just slip into Bruce’s side and leave before you woke up. That was the plan until he found Damian on Bruce’s side and you had been pulled closer to Bruce taking up what was left. You moved a little and Dick took that as his sign to deal with it himself until he heard you whisper his name. He hummed so you knew it was him and not some random stranger standing over Bruce’s side of the bed.
“Nightmare?”
“Yeah.”
“Come on.” You lifted the blanket next to you, “Bruce told me you guys come here when you have nightmares. There's plenty of room over here for you.” Dick hesitated for a second before giving in. He needed sleep anyway. You weren’t when you said there was plenty of room, Dick had most of your half of the bed. Once he had settled on his side, facing away from you, he felt you pull the blanket over his shoulders.
“Night Dick, sleep well.” For some reason, that was what did it. Once the tears started they didn’t stop. Silent sobs made him shudder and he felt one of your hands gently rubbing his back. “Oh Dick.” There was no pity in your tone and he found himself rolling over and curling into you. Your chin resting on his head while you rubbed his back.
The next day, he followed you around like a puppy. Your side of the bed became his favorite when he had nightmares and it wasn’t long before he turned to you for general comfort over anything.
Jason met you at his grave. Neither of you exchanged words, but he caught something in your gaze he didn’t quite understand. He also wasn’t sure why you were at his grave either, he didn’t know you when he was younger.
When he saw the Gotham News post about Bruce and Your 2nd anniversary, it brought more questions than answers. Why were you at his grave alone? Let alone longer than a few seconds. It was an odd way to gain more of Bruce’s affections.
Every Tuesday you would be there, leaving flowers and talking softly to the stone. Every time you left, you would smile and nod, the look in your eyes he couldn’t figure out was still there. Every time he would strain to heat what you were saying and only be able yo a few words here and there.
6 months into it, the routine changed. You brought a blanket and Basket with your usual flowers. You did what you normally did with the flowers but instead of talking to the stone you waved him over. When he didn’t move, you stopped what you were doing and looked at him.
“Jason Todd, I have been keeping your secret for 6 months. Helping me spread this blanket and having lunch won’t change it.” He stared at you while you waited expectantly. Eventually when he could get himself to move, he came over and helped. He sat down where you motioned for him too, all while trying to figure out how you knew.
“Bruce mentioned this used to be your favorite when you were younger so I asked Alfred to teach me how to make it. I hope it's up to your standards.” He looked at the plate of food you handed him. It was almost overflowing with food, all of which reminded him of the good times back at the manor before he died. “Alfred also sent your favorite cookies when he heard I would be eating at your grave.” The bag of cookies was placed next to the basket, within easy reach.
“Why?” Was all Jason managed to choke out around the lump in his throat.
“I decided early on in life, no matter who I was with, I would love their family as my own. My grandfather hated my grandmothers side and it caused a lot of pain in all the generations. I decided I would never do that to another family.” Jason found himself back in control enough to start eating.
“So when I started dating Bruce and he told me about you, I decided to treat you like you were my own. Even though I had never met you and you were dead. Most of what that meant was keeping your grave clean and always making sure there were fresh flowers. While I did that, I would tell you everything that was going on.”
“How did you know it was me?”
“Your eyes, they may be a different color but they looked too similar. So I did a little digging and found pictures of your biological pictures to place the face shape it matched. I think however you look more like Bruce then either of them.”
“Are you going to tell them?”
“As much as I would love to. It’s your choice. You’ve been keeping this to yourself for a reason. If I can help you get to a place to tell them, I would love to. But I won’t say a word until you're ready. However, I would like to keep having lunch with you.”
A year later, Jason reintroduced himself to the rest of the family a lot calmer than originally planned and was glued to your side anytime he felt overwhelmed that night. Every Tuesday after that, lunch was scheduled.
Tim was nervous when it came to you. He was still living in the manor so he saw you more than the older two. You always seemed nice and respected his privacy but Bruce was always with you so you obviously would.
It was when he wasn’t around that worried Tim. Bruce attracted golddiggers and they were always mean when Bruce wasn’t there. When you were given a copy of the key, Time braced himself.
Of course he knew that if he told Bruce anything that happened like that, Bruce would break it off. He had always told them that they came first. But he also knew that Bruce liked you a lot. All the other ones Bruce liked a lot that turned out to be horrible, he broked it off. Tim had seen how it had made him upset and he really hated doing that to him. Maybe he could deal with it for once.
So when Bruce left for a business trip, Tim was Expecting the worst. What he didn’t expect was for you to knock on his door and ask if you could join him. When he agreed and stepped back so you could come in. He expected you to go to his bed or his desk chair not, the oversized bean bag on the floor.
“I have a question for you but you can’t tell Bruce yet.” Here it comes. “What would a funny way to tell him I know he’s Batman?” Tim wasn’t expecting that one. “I was thinking a lot of batpuns but his paranoia is too bad for that.”
“How did you figure it out?” You walked him through your process and didn’t say anything as he wrote parts of it down. Once you finished explaining the process for Bruce, you explained any way it was modified in figuring out their identities.
“Who do you think I am?”
“Red Robin.” Tim found himself getting excited.
“You know those notes you leave him in his office?” You nodded. “You should leave those in the Batcave.” You considered it but your thinking was interrupted but Tim shouting.
“No! One night when we’re all in the cave, you could bring some snacks!”
“You just want snacks when he’s lecturing you don’t you?”
“Maybe..”
“Alright, but you have to tell the others so they can tell me what snack they want.”
So Tim slowly and carefully went through all his siblings, letting them know you figured it out, Bruce didn’t know, and what the plan is. Every time he relayed a snack to you he’d watch how carefully you’d write it out to make sure you had it correct or look up recipes if you couldn’t find it in stores.
Two weeks later, Tim was the one who sent the signal in the middle of a lecture everyone was receiving and he got a front row seat to see Bruce’s face when you walked in and handed out snacks before giving him a kiss and telling him to be nice and leaving.
Any other worries were left in the dust when you helped him win the nerf war for the best seat in the home theater. He thoroughly enjoyed his spot next to you while Bruce swore revenge from the other side of the room.
Damian treated you politely but that was it. His mother was still alive and he didn’t want another one, one was more than enough. Not only that, but you were weird.
One time when you were over, you found one of his report cards. Immediately you were praising him. He didn’t understand why, he had basically failed one of his classes with an A-. You should be disappointed like his mother would be, not hanging it up on the fridge and telling people not to touch it. Definitely not taking him out for ice cream and calling him so smart. He definitely shouldn’t be feeling any pride when he walked past it, but he still was.
When he was practicing his violin and Messed up, you were supposed to tell him to stop failing, that he should be better. Not smiling at him and telling him he’s making good progress. You should be telling him that he should have memorized that piece in a day. He shouldn’t be feeling any pride when he finally does memorize it, it took him 4 days to learn it.
When he was struggling to learn a language, you were supposed to tell him to work harder. He could do better, after all, he already knew so many. Instead you just smiled and recommended a break to refresh his mind.
When he snapped at you in Arabic, he expected you to be upset since you didn’t know what he said and it was obviously not something nice. Instead you set the rule that if he was going to use Arabic to speak to you when upset, that he had to teach it to you and if what he said wasn’t something you had learned yet, he had to tell you in english. When he told you what it meant, you didn’t even get upset. He definitely shouldn’t be as excited as he was when you actually started learning.
So many more little things piled up, leaving Damian confused. The differences between how you and his mother treated him was so big he didn’t know how to process it, he liked you and all the little things made him happy in a way he hadn’t really felt. But he still loved his mom, When he had enough of it, he asked you to stop. He still wanted to love his mom. Once again, you did something you weren’t supposed to.
“Oh Damian, I’m not trying to replace your mom nor am I trying to make you feel like you can’t love her or she doesn’t love you. Your mom and I show our love in different ways and its ok for you to love or like both of us. You mother loves you and she will always be allowed in your life if thats what you want.” You weren’t supposed to do that, but Damian was really glad you did.
Barbara wasn’t sure how you would react to her. She wasn’t just Bruce’s kid. She had a loving family she went back to every night. Most people weren’t really a fan of that, one of Bruce’s past girlfriends had some strong and hurtful things to say about it.
When you took her for a day out, she found herself warming up to you but still waiting for the other shoe to drop. One of the new places you had planned to go, didn’t have wheelchair access. Like all the other girlfriends who had done this, she expected you to be annoyed that your plans had to change or you would just leave her outside while you shopped.
You didn’t seem to notice her hesitation, just looking at what was next on your list and starting the trip there. When Barbara stared a little longer at a new movie that was in theaters, tickets and snacks were bought and you listed to all the lore she told you about before it started.
While it had been a nice day, Barbara wasn’t convinced. One day was easy to fake. Sure she had lots of fun, but Barbara was used to fakes when it came to Bruce’s girlfriends. Of course she wasn’t complaining about you being nice, she just wasn’t sure how long it would last.
“Did you hear about that boutique?” She looked up from her food to look at her dad. “That new one that you tried to go to with Bruce’s girlfriend? Well there was a report that it didn’t meet the Americans with Disabilities act and the boutique is in trouble. People are speculating they’ll have to close down.”
Later that night, Barbara looked into it. They were in trouble, pretty big trouble from the looks of it. Towards the end of the article she found the name of the person who reported it, she wasn’t sure who she was expecting. Not you for sure but the Name Y/n L/n took her by surprise and filled her chest with feelings she couldn’t describe.
The boutique ended up closing but a new one opened. Once it was open, you were the first to ask her to go. That weird feeling came back when she wheeled herself up the ramp and through the door you held open for her. Later that night, in the privacy of her room. She decided she liked you.
Steph seemed like she liked you, she acted like she liked you, she didn’t really like you. Sure you were nice, Bruce loved you, the others were warming up to you, but she wasn’t sure how to feel about you. So she stuck with not actually liking you but pretending to.
So when she was around you, it was all smiles and jokes. She wasn’t a big fan of it all but she did it because she knew you were important to Bruce and that was enough of a reason for her. She knew Bruce and the others could see through the act but as long as you couldn’t, that was enough.
When Bruce announced he had to leave for a business trip right before she could hand him the parents visit for one of her AP classes, something the new teacher liked doing. She tucked the paper away. When Tim gave her a questioning look, she shook her head and later swore him to silence.
Every time she heard someone mention their parents were going, she felt a pang of jealousy in her chest. Every time Tim mentioned bringing it up to you, she swore him into silence again. It wouldn’t be the first time no one showed up for her. She was however thankful you wouldn’t be at the manor as much so she didn’t have to pretend to like you.
When the day arrived, Steph was not having a good day. School dragged on slowly. Slower than normal. When school finally ended, she had to sit in the classroom and watch everyone else that was in her class leave and the parents of her classmates show up while no one was there or coming for her.
Someone sat in the seat next to her, she expected another family member of one of her classmates. Definitely not you. She couldn’t return your smile, too unsure of how you found out, the fact you actually showed up, and how she felt about you being there. You leaned a little closer so that the others in the room wouldn’t easily overhear.
“I know I’m not your parent and someone you just pretend to like so if you want me to leave I will. But I figured someone was better then no one. Oh, and Tim wanted me to tell you he didn’t spill. Your teacher called the manor because no one had RSVPed for you and I answered it.”
That night, as Steph showed off all her hard work to you, the charade fell. She actually enjoyed her time with you and the boost of pride as you oohed and ahhed over all her projects and listened to her explain all the little details. That night, Steph realized, she didn’t need to keep pretending. She liked you, until she found out you didn’t like her favorite show but a nerf war solved that.
Cass could tell you were different then the other girlfriends, your body language as you interacted with all of them showed it. However that didn’t mean she knew how to interact with you.
She had learned that she was fairly hard for new people to interact with. She also knew she had trouble interacting with people she wasn’t fighting. So it wasn’t a surprise when it started rocky.
What was a surprise, was when you found out she was still having trouble reading and writing, you stepped in to help. Well, that wasn’t the surprising part, a lot of girlfriends did that. The surprising part was the amount of patience you had when it was only the two of you.
When one method didn’t help, you tried another. Never once did you snap at her or call her a name. Everytime you got frustrated you would stop and look at her, say something along the lines of “If I had as much trouble with this as you do, I wouldn’t want to keep trying. You're doing absolutely amazing! I’ll keep looking for other ideas, but for now, lets take a break and get a treat.”
Cass wasn’t sure why that always made her feel better, but it did. Every treat you brought was something you made just for the tutoring sessions and it always reminded her of what Alfred had told her once. “Something made with love for you will always taste better.”
And when a method that made it a little easier to learn was found, Cass found herself smiling along with your cheers. Bad days where she couldn’t seem to make any progress were always met with the same excitement, cheers, patience, and treats that all the others were.
Cass still wasn’t sure of what to think of you exactly, but she knew she liked you and that you cared about her.
So when Tim saw the new rise in hate, a sibling meeting was called. They all went through each site, blood boiling as they saw what people were saying about their new parent. Plans were made, declarations of war were ready, and anger fueled all of them. Bruce could tell something was going on, but he wasn’t sure what it was and as long as it didn’t get out of had, he wasn’t sure if he had the energy to deal with it.
War was declared in an interview by Steph. The lady was asking questions when the topic switched to Bruce, then you. The reporter was clearly trying to subtly find some dirt on you and Steph was not going to stand for it.
“Oh yeah! Y/n! She’s the best!” She put on her best press face. Trying to hide her anger over the hidden intent. She didn’t have to lie or act when talking about you but the change in the lady’s face going to disappointment when she didn’t get anything she wanted was making her look very punchable.
“She’s always showing up for us and making sure we’re doing ok. If Y/n and Bruce were to break up, I think most of us would go with Y/n.” The way the lady kept trying to get anything really got on her nerves and Steph decided she needed to get out of there before she started using the lady’s face for target practice. You wouldn’t like that.
Cass was the first one to resort to violence. They had asked a thinly veiled question, basically asking if you were a golddigger. So she punched him in the nose and leaned down to flip the camera off. She hated interviews already but that made it so much worse. She hoped you wouldn’t be too upset with her punching the guy though.
Jason, surprisingly enough. Did not get violent… physically. He did however curse one out and threaten him when the reporter implied you were forcing them to say nice things. When the reporter kept pressing Jason broke his mic and told him if he ever heard him talking bad about you again, a broken mic would be the last of his worries. Jason knew you would be disappointed but he had held back, he didn’t shoot the guy like he wanted.
Tim threw his coffee at one reporter because he heard them say you were nothing but a regular person who didn’t deserve any attention. He then took over her segment, threatening the company to air it or he would make sure they went bankrupt. Once he finished his threats, anything he said was praising you name. Telling everyone how amazing you were and how much they all loved you.
Barbara made it a point to bring up everything you did for the community when they tried to throw some shade at you in an interview. She had documents to prove it and hacked their systems to add them into the interview so they couldn’t claim it was fake. She also made sure to run over his foot when she left.
Dick punched a reporter when they tried to ask him what you were really like behind closed doors. He told them the truth, that you were just as good, kind, patient, and loving behind closed doors as you were out in public. He didn’t throw a punch until the reporter disregarded that as asked again because she couldn’t be that good. Dick knew a lecture would be coming once you saw, but he would rather sit through a lecture then let anyone tarnish your name.
Damian spent 10 minutes cursing and threatening a reporter in Arabic when they asked him if you had ever hurt him. When he was done, he told them in english, that if he ever got asked that question again, he would impale them. He knew you were going to make him sit down and translate everything and the general response you would give but he didn’t care, no one speaks bad about either of his mothers.
Bruce figured out what was going on after Steph’s interview. He saw the ones where they assaulted or threatened the reporters and made sure his lawyers were on standby to keep the kids out of trouble. After all, he had seen more than they had.
He had watched as you tried to connect with Dick early on, how you worked hard to try and get somewhere. He had woken up before you when Dick had come in that night and heard how you handled it. He had woken up the next morning to find you holding Dick close, like you were trying to protect him from the nightmares. He had seen how you never turned Dick down when he wanted comfort, no matter how serious or silly the matter, and he had heard your excitement when you told him Dick liked you.
Bruce had seen the way you never missed a visit to Jason’s grave, on a visit of his own, he saw how much care you showed the stone marking it as his lost son. While he hadn’t been sure why it was alway the same time on Tuesday, he didn;t mention it. He felt the way you would sob in his arms after each visit, a year after the tradition started, you always said you had promised not to tell and he watched as you kept that promise even if it tore you to pieces. Once the shock and tears wore off for a little bit, he could see the trust that Jason had in you.
He heard the way you questioned if you should have a key to the manor, you didn’t want to make Tim uncomfortable in his own home, or how you questioned if you should visit while he was gone. Not wanting to stress Tim out when there was no reason too. He saw the way you and Tim grinned at each other when you brought snacks down for all the kids he was currently lecturing. He head the excitement in your voice as you told him about the tour Tim had given you of the Batcave and the shared laughter as you and Tim worked together to win the nerf war.
Bruce saw how you worked to give Damian the affection he didn’t think he needed. He felt you crying in his arms upset over the fact Damian thought you would be angry because he made a mistake or struggled in a class. He heard you practicing your Arabic as you got ready for bed and he watched as you stress paced over whether or not you said the right thing to him about his mother.
He saw how angry you had been when you came back from your day out with Barbara. He had heard your call with your lawyer as you tried to figure out what to do. He saw you going through the laws and making a list to make sure your lawyer didn’t miss any. He heard about the movie you didn’t particularly care about and the lore you remembered in case of another because you wanted Barbara to have someone she could tell all of her favorite things too.
Bruce saw the pictures you had taken from the school night. He heard all the details from you as you praised Steph’s work. He saw the way Steph stopped acting around you and the silly arguments the two of you would get into for fun. He heard the way you would listen to her as she verbally worked out her problems. He saw the way Steph looked for you in a crowd, the way she knew you were there but not where you stood exactly, the thought of you not being there never crossed her.
He saw the way you stayed up late, researching different ways to teach reading and writing. He heard the patience and kindness and you worked with Cass. He saw the way you always made a treat just for Cass to have after each lesson because you wanted to reward her hard work. He heard the way you cried for Cass when she had a bad day and got frustrated with herself because you knew she was smart and you wanted her to see it too. He heard your celebrations when Cass made any progress, no matter the size.
Bruce heard, saw, and felt the way you worked hard to have a relationship with his kids. How you had mourned for their losses, celebrated their wins, and felt their pain. He saw the way his kids blossomed under your care, growing to be better and more confident in themselves. The way you cared for them as if they were your own flesh and blood. So when he was asked about his kids behavior, he said as much.
“Y/n has worked hard to be accepted by them. She’s given so much of her time, effort, patience, and love and never wanted anything in return. She always shows up for them, no matter what the occasion is, big or small, it doesn’t matter. If they want her there, she’ll be there. Everytime they need or want her, she’s there. She never judges them and treats them as if they were her own blood. Of course their upset and lashing out, people are insulting the woman who has cared for them more then most of their biological mothers.”
Later, a clip of you scolding Bruce and all the kids went viral. While you were scolding them over their behavior and making the kids who had reacted with violence or threats write apology letters because asking mean questions does not make it right to respond badly especially when its someone just trying to start drama. Everyone one noticed that there was no actual bite to your tone and no anger when they all refused to stop acting like that. In fact, there was a small soft smile on your face as you shook your head at your family.

# BATBOYS WITH A SUNSHINE!READER ── .✦ ( basically batboys with a optimistic reader )
a/n: this was requested by anon (here) but anywayss i think I’m gonna do the world tour thing after my winter inspired fics/hcs end on like February 28th! (Dw i’ll still do the world tour thingy in between) but yahh also I desperately need writer mutals + mutals I mssg daily like I’m a very kind person idm if you dm me at like 4 AM, tags: (batboys x fem!reader)
© dollishmehrayan — ( all rights reserved to me. These works cannot be reposted, translated, or modified. Thank you for understanding dollies! )
DICK GRAYSON ── .✦
Absolutely smitten. Your optimism is like a magnet for Dick, who thrives on positivity.
He calls you his “little ray of sunshine” (even if you roll your eyes at the nickname).
If he’s feeling down, your relentless optimism is a game changer. “How do you do that? How do you make the world seem so… bright all the time?”
Constantly teases you, especially if you’re being overly cheerful during random moments. “Are you seriously smiling right now? We’re getting ready to head to bed!”
But secretly, he loves it. Your energy balances his occasional doubts && insecurities. (he lovesss positive people who live in their own world)
Dick starts picking up on your habits leaving little notes of encouragement, giving random compliments to strangers and realizes how much better it makes his day.
JASON TODD ── .✦
At first, he’s skeptical. He’s not used to someone so genuinely cheerful, and he might think you’re putting on an act.
“How are you this happy all the time? What’s your secret? Coffee? Dark magic?”, “I just like seeing the world differently, I’m a poet in my mind.”
But over time, he warms up to your positivity and even craves it (to a point he gets sad if you aren’t around for more than 4 hours). You’re the light that cuts through his darker moments and more sulking personality.
“I don’t know how you do it, but you make me feel like the world’s not completely screwed.”, “what did you say?-“, “Nothing go back to sleep.”
He pretends to be annoyed when you try to cheer him up after a rough day, but he secretly loves when you coax a laugh out of him.
Jason starts jokingly calling you his “emotional support sunshine.” He’ll tell Roy, “Yeah, they’re like my personal antidepressant.”
Will protect your positivity at all costs. If anyone tries to dim your light, they’ll have to deal with him.
TIM DRAKE ── .✦
Finds your optimism so refreshing. Tim can be a little too caught up in stress and overthinking, so your energy is like a breath of fresh air.
He’s constantly asking, “How are you so happy all the time? Teach me your ways.”
If you leave him little notes of encouragement, he’ll treasure them forever. He has a drawer full of them and pulls one out whenever he’s having a bad day.
Sometimes, your cheerfulness makes him feel a little guilty. “You’re so good, and here I am being a grump.” But you always remind him it’s okay to have bad days.
Tim loves how you bring optimism even to his most chaotic moments. “Yeah, sure, we’re being late, but hey, at least it’s not raining, right?”
He’d be a little overwhelmed by your energy at times, but he admires you deeply for seeing the good in everything.
DAMIAN WAYNE ── .✦
Damian does not know what to do with you at first. Your cheerfulness is a complete mystery to him.
“Why are you smiling? We are surrounded by incompetence.”
He pretends to be annoyed, but deep down, he finds your positivity oddly comforting.
Over time, he starts looking forward to your optimistic take on things. “Yes, fine, maybe there is a silver lining. Stop gloating.”
You have a knack for breaking through his tough exterior. If he’s grumpy, you’ll say something so genuinely kind that he can’t help but soften.
Damian secretly loves how you see the good in him, even when he doesn’t see it himself.
He starts to mimic your habits, like giving Alfred small compliments or trying to look on the bright side, but he’ll deny it if you call him out.
BRUCE WAYNE ── .✦
Bruce admires your positivity but doesn’t always understand it. “How do you manage to stay so cheerful in Gotham of all places?”
At first, he worries your optimism will make you naive, but he quickly realizes it’s your strength.
Your energy is a stark contrast to his brooding nature, and he starts leaning on it more than he cares to admit.
When he’s stuck in his head or doubting himself, you always know what to say to pull him out of it.
“You make it sound so simple,” he says after you give him one of your pep talks. But he smiles because somehow, you do make it simple.
You bring a sense of warmth and nostalgia into the Wayne Manor. Bruce finds himself more relaxed when you’re around, even in the middle of chaos.
He’ll never admit it to the others, but your optimism is one of his favorite things about you.

everyone talks about how bruce talks about his 'babies' as if they're just sweet little kids, when they are OBVIOUSLY not (shocking everyone who meets them). but i think dick would do the Exact Same Thing:
dick: "and you're gonna LOVE my baby brother jason, he's so smart, and has such a sense of empathy. but god does he just get bigger every day, they grow up so fast"
enter 6'5 literal mountain jason todd, who looks like he's going to snap someone's neck if they so much as look at him the wrong way.
dick: "sometimes i'm just blown away by tim's genius. i'm always so proud of him when he accomplishes new things, but every time it just reminds me how independent he's getting. he's so full of life too, it's hard to keep up with him."
enter tim, who looks like he's met death and bears all of the world's secrets. although perpetually battered and worn down, he is also, not a baby.
dick: "oh and damian... he's the littlest one, and he's just the cutest, always learning and wanting to be just like his big brothers. he's so sweet too, not a mean bone in his body"
enter damian.. this one fits the size description at least.

The Batboys being clingy headcanon:
Including Duke and Bruce <3
Hope you guys like it!
Tim Drake Tim’s clinginess is low-key, but it’s also constant. He’s the type to text you “What’s up? I miss you <3” while you’re just sitting 5 feet away from him. If you so much as stand up to go get a snack, he’s immediately there, like, “Where are you going? Don’t leave me.” He’ll lean against you, his hand finding yours without him even realizing it. When you're watching TV or reading, he’s definitely leaning into your side, trying to get as close as possible without being too obvious. But if you move to shift positions? Nope, he’s following you. He’ll slip his arm around your waist, all like, “Don’t think I didn’t notice that.” He’s not a big PDA guy, but when it’s just the two of you? Prepare for cuddles, hand-holding, and small, random kisses. He’s gotta be touching you constantly.
Jason Todd Jason is obsessive, no doubt. He’s that partner who’ll try to act like he’s tough and independent, but the moment you show him any kind of affection, he’s all over you. Like, you can’t just hug him. No. He’ll climb into your lap and basically trap you there, rubbing his face into your neck like a cat. He’s gonna constantly ask for kisses, too, but not just little pecks—he wants full-on, deep kisses where he can pull you close and remind you that you’re his. If you’re doing something, like, working or even hanging out with friends, he’ll try to drag you away, be like, “Hey, come hang out with me, stop ignoring me for two seconds.” He’s possessive, but in the cutest way, constantly needing your attention. If you even talk to another person for too long, he’ll give them side-eye and pull you back to him like, “You good? You’re not gonna leave me for some random guy, are you?” He’s also the type to cling to you in bed, hogging the covers and curling up like a human koala.
Dick Grayson Dick’s clingy energy is pure gold. He’s the most affectionate of the bunch and doesn’t shy away from public displays of love. He loves hugging you from behind, nuzzling into your neck, and just randomly planting kisses all over your face. He’ll text you “miss you <3” every few hours when you’re apart, and when you’re together? It’s all about touch. He’s sitting on your lap, or leaning on your shoulder, or pulling you into his chest just because he needs to be close to you. If you’re watching a movie, he’s definitely going to have his head in your lap, just to be as close to you as humanly possible. He gets giddy when he gets attention from you, too. You could be playing with his hair, and he’ll melt. He’ll whine like, “I’m not clingy, you’re clingy. But also, I love it. So don’t stop.” Honestly, Dick doesn’t care if he’s acting like a bit of a puppy—he’s obsessed with you, and he makes sure you know it.
Damian Wayne Damian’s clingy moments are hilariously dramatic. He might start out cold, acting like he doesn’t need anyone, but as soon as you show him any affection? He’s all in. He’ll randomly grab your hand and hold it like it’s the most important thing in the world. If you try to walk away from him for whatever reason, he’ll growl and pull you back in, like, “Where are you going? You’re staying right here.” He has this whole vibe of “I don’t need anyone else, just you”, so if you’re talking to someone else or looking away from him for too long, he’ll wrap his arm around your waist and be like, “I don’t think you should be talking to them. They might steal you away from me.” In bed? He’s a hug monster, wrapping his arms around you like he’s never letting you go. He’s all about the intimacy, though—when it’s just the two of you, he’ll be soft and surprisingly vulnerable, making sure you know that he needs you more than he lets on.
Duke Thomas Duke is lowkey super clingy, but in the way that’s goofy and endearing. He loves to follow you around, like, just wherever you go, he’s tagging along. You’re going to the kitchen? He’s there. To grab something from the laundry room? He’s there. If you sit down, he’s sitting on the floor next to you, asking if you want to “cuddle and watch dumb shows together.” He’s always finding excuses to touch you—like, his hand will just casually rest on your knee or he’ll come up behind you and play with your hair. And if you don’t give him attention? He’ll pout, even if he’s trying to play it off, like, “Aren’t you gonna give me a kiss? C’mon, don’t leave me hanging.” He’s the type who’ll give you a silly smile, lean in for a kiss, and then pull you into a full-on hug like, “Don’t go. I’m not done with you yet.” He’s all about the hugs, especially after a long day. You’ll be just chilling, and suddenly he’s like, “Hug time, right? Let me get one.”
Bruce Wayne Now, Bruce is not the type to openly admit he’s clingy. He’s still the stoic, brooding billionaire who’s been through a lot, but when it’s just the two of you? He’s softer than anyone expects. He’ll always make sure you’re physically close—his hand on your lower back, your legs touching when you sit next to him, and if he’s standing near you, his hand will casually rest on your arm. When you’re working late or doing something serious, Bruce will occasionally pull you away for a few minutes just to kiss you or hold you close. He’s not great at asking for attention, but when he’s feeling clingy, he’ll show you through little gestures. You’ll find him just sitting beside you in silence, just content to be in your presence. He’s a man of few words, but when he’s clingy, it’s all about the touch—the way he holds your hand, how he presses his shoulder to yours, and how he’ll insist on driving you home or waiting up for you, just to make sure you’re safe.

What I think Batfam members listen to to go to sleep
Bruce- Nothing. Any sort of talking, or uneven noises will wake him up in a cold sweat because he’s paranoid like that.
Dick- Sitcoms. Friends is his favourite to fall to sleep too, but his favourite overall show is B99 because it reminds him of his fam.
Jason- nothing usually, but if he’s struggling to sleep audiobooks will knock him out. But only ones he’s read over and over. If it’s a new one he will stay up to find out what happens.
Tim- he won’t sleep until he passes out. You might think that’s too fanon, but my guy has passed out on a roller coaster in canon. He will fall asleep reviewing security footage tho.
Damian- bro was a nothing kind of person until he fell asleep while watching a movie with Jon during a sleepover. His mind starts racing before bed but putting something on to direct his thoughts helps a whole lot.
Steph and Cass- Steph was obsessed with ASMR and showed it to Cass who liked it a lot too. Steph does like the roleplays while Cass prefers ones without talking.
Duke- podcasts because most of their apps have a built in sleep timer. If he has to turn off the podcasts manually, the light from his phone wakes him up too much.
Idk, kinda stupid lol

Tim had a jumper that doesn’t seem all that special, but to Alfred, Bruce and Dick is incredibly important. Dare they say vital to caring for Tim.
It’s a big wooly thing, once a pale mossy green but now with a hint of brown and white from fading and use. It’s too big for him to the point that the sleeves have to be bunched up when worn and even than they hang over his hands.
It looks like a dress on him, which isn’t help but his naturally slim build.
The jumper is held in such high regard because when Tim puts it on it means that he’s not feeling like he usually does.
His confidence, his snark, his wit, and his mental strength is either hard to reach or impossible.
Tim, in the only instance he actually talked about what was going on when he wasn’t wearing the jumper, said he felt both like a tiny little fish in a giant pond and like his skin was a sheet of paper.
Bruce talked to Dinah about it and said it was most likely a form of mental regression, but Tim refused for it to be called him being ‘little’ or anything that would remind him of being a kid again.
Because he doesn’t act like a kid, but maybe it’s not right to associate Tim Drake with a normal child behaviour pattern. He doesn’t babble or whine or want to watch kids shows like Dinah had suggest he might, but he does go non verbal or only say one or two words in response to pretty much anything.
He puts his jumper on and will just… sit there.
Tim is always moving or thinking, always doing, but when he gets in his ‘jumper state’ as Alfred calls it, he tends to slow down completely and just want to sit somewhere warm and feel the fluff of his carefully maintained jumper.
Sometimes, he seeks out warmth outside of heaters and fires and the sun.
It’s on one of those days when Tim stalks down to the Cave with his jumper on, hair messy over his head and hands held up to his chest in an almost shy manner.
Jason notices him first and simply raises an eyebrow in confusion while Damian scoffs, “What on earth are you wearing, Drake? That looks moldy-“
But Tim doesn’t even look at him, eyes on the floor as he goes over to Bruce at the computer and pokes the older man’s shoulder once before retracting his hand.
Bruce immediately turns and opens his arms, an almost heartbroken look on his face as he lets Tim drawl onto his lap and bury his face in the crook of his neck.
“I’ve got you. Anything in particular or just one of those days?”
Tim speaks in a voice like a husk that Damian and Jason only hear because they’ve come closer and sound travels in the cave, “Janet, birthday.”
Bruce Wayne, The Batman, The Caped Crusader, then fucking coos and kisses his head before rocking him slightly.
“That makes sense. Do you need someone here tonight? I can call Dick or stay myself if you need.”
The two other boys in the room look at each other, shocked to hear Bruce say he will give up a patrol to seemingly cuddle someone.
Tim shakes his head, “Alfred.”
Bruce nods, kissing his head again and saying, “Thank you for coming to me so I can help you. I’m so proud of you for not making yourself go through this alone again.”
It’s not exactly a whine that leaves Tim, but it’s not a word that is Bruce’s answer.
Jason comes forward and awkwardly scratches the back of his head, “I don’t really know what’s going on, but can I like… help or something?”
Bruce smiled as Tim nods against him after a few moments, the boy in his arms turning to reach a hand out for Jason and then strangely patting the hand Jason offers up for him.
Damian, not trying to be rude but needing to understand what is going on, clears his throat and demands, “Explain what is wrong with Drake.”
Luckily Bruce had gotten better at understanding how his son communicates and looks to Tim for permission before answering, “Sometimes Tim needs to… be free of responsibility and just feel like a person for a bit. He isn’t always up for talking and just wants to be around people he trust, and me, Dick and Alfred have managed to convince him to actually come to us when he needs that.”
Bruce smiles at where at where Tim is holding Jason’s hand and swinging it around a bit before feeling over the rough calluses and thick fingers with apparent joy.
Damian frowns a little at his father’s explanation but nods regardless, “Very well, we shall set up the family room for the evening before we head out for patrol.”
Bruce smiled and pulls Damian’s head over to kiss his hairline as he hears Jason mutter, “Weird little guy, aren’t ya?”
Tim hums and pinches his finger and smiling at his older brothers yelp.

Another deaged Ellie and Dan, but Danny was reincarnated as Damian Wayne
Danny Damian because he was Damian now, wasn't he? He remembers now the Fentons, the GIW, Sam and Tucker, jazz. He wonders if they could have also followed him here. A part of him longs to see his fraid again, but are they his fraid still? He was a new person. Son of The Bat and Heir to the Demon Head. Something Dami he remembers reminding people of. If only Sam could see him now, he knows she'd love that. "Who's edgy now?" He can picture her saying. He can almost see Tucker laughing so hard he'd fall out of his seat.
Crack
The sharp sound of the thunder brings him to the present. He looked over at his clock, 3:00 A.M. The witching hour he can hear Ellie tell him with a mischievous smile on one of their flights around Amity Park. She loved to drag him and Dan sometimes Vlad if he was feeling friendly. Dan, his future evil self tormented by the deaths of all his family and friends, so hurt he got Vlad to rip his human half out so he didn't have to feel the pain. Ellie, his clone, created by Vlad to be the perfect son, too bad she was a daughter. Looking down at his stomach where their cores are now incubating, he couldn't help but wonder if Vlad had anything to do with this.
He shook his head as if that would rid himself of that thought. Vlad was a real fruitloop, but he would never purposefully endanger Dan or Ellie. Vlad, in his twisted and weird ways, did love them in his own ways like kidnapping and keeping him hostage to save Ellie. He had forgiven vlad for the desperate attempt to save his daughter, but incubating Ellie and Dan's cores would make him their father now, too. Ew, coparenting with Vlad does not sound like a fun time. He glanced down and lifted his shirt hesitantly. If he focused on his stomach, he could see a faint blue and red glow emanating from his stomach. Red, Vlads' color, he thought distantly. Hopefully, it didn't mean much. As if signaling him, the envelope they had carried with them to him fell off the bed carried to the floor by the slight breeze.
Lighting lumineating the bedroom, making the crisp white color shine for just a second. He tentatively reached down to grab it. He was being a baby. He was a trained assassin from birth, and his fear trained beaten out of him a long time ago. Some part of him whispered his father and Richard's teachings of being brave but not without fear.
He paused. Father would want to know everything. His past life, Ellie and Dan, the ghosts, being a halfa. He wouldn't understand, Richard would try to, but not even he could never really understand. He couldn't subject his babies to that. He couldn't live with the threat to being ripped apart molecule by molecule. His father's lack of emotional intelligence certainly would not help young halfas. He was fourteen again the age he was killed in his first life. The age he started facing ghosts from another dimension.
He started younger in this life. Killing younger, he learned to fight his whole life. Jazz would hate that. Jazz... he wondered if she was alright if she survived the attack... no, there's no time to think of that right now. He ripped open the envelope( like a band-aid, Richard would remind him), and he noticed Vlad's familiar fancy fruitloop writing immediately(he had fancy fruitloop writing now, instead of the chicken scratch Jazz chided him over). So he was right about one thing this had vlad all over it.
Dear Daniel,
Though I understand you might not be Daniel when this letter finds you. I have been reincarnated into another life as I believe you have as well. My new name is Alexander Luther. I own a corporation called Lexcorp. I unfortunately can not change the name according to my board. The idiot lot of them.
He snickered at that. His smile dropped immediately. Vlad was Lex Luthor, the archnemesis of Superman. Jon would most certainly not like this. He forced himself to read on before he spiraled further.
I regained my memories after an experiment went wrong. I know how original. My new incarnation was able to open a small portal that grew in size, and eventually, somehow Danielle and Dan fell through. The portal then exploded, and I regained my memories. Unfortunately, it destabilized their clone bodies. I couldn't grow working bodies in time, and eventually, I had to hope they could find you. I hoped somehow that the yeti doctor would have imparted some of his strange knowledge onto you that might save them.
Vlad, no Lex still wrong. Vlad was somewhat right about that. During one of his all things ghostly lessons from Frostbite, he told him of how in the old ages ghosts often incubated their ghostlings. A protective measure back when magic and spirits were more prevalent. He didn't really understand it back then, and he doesn't understand it much now, either. Apart from the fact he was doing it, he supposed. What if he did something wrong and he lost them? He doesn't think he could live out his half-life if he lost them again. He needed to get to Vlad, and quickly too so they could start building a new portal to the infinite realms.
If this letter finds you. Come find me immediately at these coordinates. I've gone deep underground to escape my new archnimesis's suoer senses. I've m started research on a new portal, but I'll need your endeneering skills. This world is severely lacking in ectoplasmic science and engineering. I am once again forced to start from scratch on my own. Once we get the portal open, you'll need to go straight to The Far Frozen.
It's as if he's reading my mind, I think jokingly.
P.s. One of my experiments may or not have regiven then my new DNA in an attempt to restabilize them.
Only Vlad.
Well, it looks like they actually were going to be coparenting after all. This was going to go great.
I sigh and lean my head back down on my pillow. He committed the cords to memory before lighting the letter on fire with the lighter he kept in his bedside drawer. Point to assassin training. Jason would be proud. He supposed he could stay for a month or so before leaving, which would give him enough time to get away or think of some kind of mission to give himself. He shoots up. Todd had died and came back. He was a revenant. He couldn't stick around if he were to visit he'd know something was wrong immediately even if he didn't understand it.
He sprung out of bed quickly, but quietly, his foot steps perfectly silent despite his rushed mood of packing a bag. He packed a few pairs of clothes and lots of hidden weapons, some snacks he kept hidden for that should keep him fed on his journey but leaving any sentimental things behind. He glanced longingly at his sketch pad, but Vlad was most likely under the water judging by the coordinates he was given. Who knows if it would survive.
He checked the pack, making sure he got all he needed. He promptly checked it again. Twice. After deeming it sufficient, he willed himself to open the door. He mentally cataloged everyone in the manor. Pennyworth was most likely still in Father's room, making sure he actually listened to his insructions. Richard and Todd in Bludhaven and Crime Alley, respectfully. Cain and Brown in Hong Kong. Thomas was sleeping after his dayshift.
Everyone accounted for except Drake. He was most likely using Pennyworth's attention on Father to work cases. He just had to take the risk. For his ghostlings, for himself, Vlad. He crept down the hallways. He was opening the grandfather clock in record time. He went slower this time. He would use his powers, but his father had supernatural wards of all kinds in the cave. Who knows what they did. He was also admittedly trying to save his little energy for his voyage on the open sea. Light snoring hit his ears as he peered around the corner.
Thank ancients.
Drake was sleeping at the batcomputer, still in his Red Robin suit sans mask surrounded by his poor choices. Empty coffee cups and files spread around. He would still need to be quiet, Drake was a light sleeper, as was everyone else in his family. He grabbed the keys to his bike quickly, sneaking by. If he wasn't ditching his bike at Gotham Bridge, he would have disabled his trackers. He checked the gas and made sure he could make it. That's when he made his first mistake.
Putting the gas jug back down, he accidently hit another of one of his siblings' tools to the floor. He tried catching it without success, but it fell anyway, the loud clang echoing. Mistake number two.
Shit.
"Huh? What's happening?" Drake arose sleepily rubbing his eyes.
He froze. Mistake number three.
"Damian? What are you doing down here?" His eyes landed on him, and he spoke confusedly with his voice heavy with sleep or lack thereof.
He panics. He's blaming the pregnancy hormones on this.
He runs.
"Damian!" Drake responded to his dead sprint with his own. "Stop!"
He reaches his bike, and he turns the keys and prays. Luckily, it comes to life. He fumbles with his helmet it would hide his tears he needed it. who knows if he'll ever get to see them again. He shoots off down the tunnel. Flicking the cave door open remotely.
Another bike rears to life behind him. "Damian wants going on?" Drakes voice echoes in his ears. He can almost taste the concern in it amplified by the helmet. He ignores it and accelerates. He ignores the returned acceleration behind him.
----------------
Tim has no clue what made Damian panic enough to run away. He quickly ran to his own bike while swearing. Damian is already gaining distance on him. After another attempt at getting Damian to calm down and talk, he calls the only person Damian would actually listen to.
He hopes Dick will forgive him for waking him at five o'clock in the morning on his day off.
