This one. I like this one. Fic under the cut
âYour input is not necessary.â
Itâs not the first time Bruce had said that to Dick tonight. It would be less frustrating if B was making better calls- heâs not really listening to anyone else tonight, not just Dick, and his decision making is suffering for it.
Everyone's tempers are suffering for it, too.
It starts with Oracle, who hates when Batman falls back into bad habits like this as much as Dick does, and has twice as less patience for it. She's curtly professional from the word "go" and when Dick offers to bring her a pint of cherry garcia later, Barbara tells him to shove it up his ass instead. Dick doesn't take it personally.
Next is Cass, who's always extra stressed when Barbara's upset. Even so, it blindsides Dick. They'd ended up at the same shootout, they'd efficiently gotten the surrounding civilians to safety, they'd worked together beautifully. They de-escalate the gun fight next, and Dick knocks a gun out of a gangster's hand before he can shoot Blackbat in the back. He doesn't think twice about it until Cass starts castigating him on the roof.
"I didn't need help."
"He was behind you. That's the whole point of a patrol partner, Blackbat, so someone can cover your six."
"No."
"No?"
"You were out of rhythm."
"I was not-"
"You're throwing me off."
She's running before Dick can say anything else. He could catch up with her, if he really tried, but he's still not sure what that was about. Maybe Dick is as out-of-sync as Cass insisted, or maybe Cass is feeling off-kilter herself. Either way, he doesn't go after her.
The rest of the night shift is uneventful, aside from the snipe over comms. Back at the Cave is a different story. Steph and Tim are arguing when Dick rolls in, and Dick gets all of three steps toward the computer before they round on him instead.
"Dick! Tell Tim that-"
"No, Dick, inform Stephanie-"
"Oooh full name, I'm so chastened, Timothy-"
"You should be embarrassed-"
"Okay!" Dick interjects. "What is the problem?"
Steph glances between Dick and Tim, glances at her feet, then sighs aggressively. "Nothing," she grits out. "Absolutely nothing, so for once in your life leave it alone, you busybody."
Dick watches as she stomps away. Just a bad night, he has to remind himself that it's just a bad night. Tim shakes his head when Dick glances at him, so Dick heads straight to the showers.
Clean, warm, and dressed down in comfy sweats, Dick feels much better than has all day. He'd passed Damian on the stairs, but something was clearly eating at the kid- he'd taken one look at Dick and turned sharply in the other direction. Hiding. Dick's been there, and valiantly tries not to take it personally.
He decides to make himself some chamomile (he'll never take sleeping pills again after don't think about it) and takes a moment to check in with himself. His therapist would be proud. Alfred would be proud of how nicely his chamomile turns out; Dick almost always understeeps herbal tea but tonight he's gotten it just right.
Dick sips his tea. He takes inventory of his injuries; minimal bruising, achy lower back, tender left wrist. Pretty good. Then takes stock of the rest of him; tired but not yet sleepy, agitated but not too badly. All in all, considering all the tension, tonight definitely could have been worse.
Famous last words.
Tim walks into the kitchen just as Dick gets to the dregs of his chamomile. Dick nods at him in greeting, and Tim does not take it well.
"Oh, now you acknowledge me?"
Dick does not sigh. He doesn't but it is such a near thing. "Did I not acknowledge you some other time tonight?"
"I asked you to back me up downstairs and you totally ignored me!"
"I did no such thing. You were in the middle of an argument I didn't catch the start of, so I asked what the problem was. How is that ignoring you?"
"I asked you for backup and you didn't come through," Tim hisses.
"Backup in the field and backup in a lovers' quarrel are not the same-"
"It wasn't a- a lovers' quarrel, asshat!"
"Well, how am I supposed to know when you don't say what's really going on?"
"You shouldn't need to know! I asked for backup-the only thing you're good for is backup and you couldn't even do that right!"
......yeah, alright, there's no getting around it. Dick is going to have to take that personally.
Dick deliberately turns away from Tim. He rinses out his teacup so the porcelain won't stain. Then, he takes a long, centering breath, and decides to do something he hasn't done in a long time.
"That how you really feel, Tim?" One more out.
"Yes."
Dick decides to cut his losses.
"Okay then."
"Okay?" Tim asks. Clearly still angry but now confused as well. It's a bad look for him. "This is not an 'okay' kind of situation."
"Not from your angle," Dick says. It's the only reply Tim gets before Dick makes his way upstairs.
Last time he left Gotham at dawn, Dick had nothing but a backpack and stolen emergency cash. This time, Dick is a grown man and a lot less desperate, not to mention a lot less injured, so he digs out his civilian suitcase and actually plans out what he wants to take.
He packs jackets, pajamas, shaving razors, plenty of socks- the kinds of things that are only expensive when purchased by the Wayne Estate, and that he won't buy for himself. All shoes go in a beach bag he has stashed in his closet, except for his loafers which go in the bottom of the dress bag with his most tolerable black tie suit. That had annoyed him last time, he remembers- Alfred had always been so militantly insistent on perfect tailoring that the baggy fit of Dick's off-the-rack replacement had been an unbearable insult to injury.
Other personal affects get tucked in the suitcase with care, bits and bobs, odds and ends, and he zips up everything just as the clock hits 4:00. Even the most workaholic bats should be in bed by now, or at least upstairs, so he should be good for a pop down.
Dick has a Nightwing stash on the edge of the city, and he'll get most of his kit from there, but his costume and his current favorite pair of escrima sticks are going with him now, neatly folded into a briefcase. Dick also nabs a keyring on his way out of Bruce's office.
The car keys used to stay in the garage with their respective vehicles, but one too many joyrides had prompted Bruce to hoard all the keys in a desk drawer instead. The first time Dick had seen them under the monogrammed stationary Bruce never uses, he'd laughed out loud.
It pains Dick to leave his bike behind, but even though Dick doesn't have a lot of luggage, it's still too much for a motorcycle. He'd considered which car to take carefully; no flashy sports car, obviously, but also not one that Bruce is particularly fond of. He needs a car for practical reasons, not spite, so Dick settles on the least ostentatious Audi and tries to think of anything else he might want in the next five-to-ten years.
Dick takes the box of chamomile tea bags.
__________
Donna opens her apartment door on the fourth knock. The look on her face is superficially friendly that Dick's proud of her- of course, she smiles for real when she registers just who it is at her door. Dick finds himself smiling back before he decides to.
"Hey, Donna. Mind if I crash here for a minute?"
Donna raises a curious eyebrow, and Dick bites his lips to keep from grinning. Donna ushers him inside without a word, locks her door, and all but pushes Dick into a bar stool. Donna sits herself up on her counter in front of him and demands eye contact.
"When you say a minute, do you mean a New York minute?"
Dick slides his eyes away and toward her couch. "I mean a lot of minutes. I'm cutting Gotham off."
"AAAA!" Donna picks him up and spins him in the air for several more turns than he thinks this really warrants. Then Donna sets them on the floor just to twirl Dick around even more, and he giggles. Part amusement, mostly relief; Donna wouldn't be so excited if he'd come at a bad time.
"Was the scream of delight necessary?" He asks, still laughing.
"Entirely," she says, mock serious. "This is a delightful day."
Donna sobers a bit at her own words. She eyes him more thoroughly, "It is a delightful day, yes?"
He knows that Donna knows he wouldn't decide to cut contact for no reason, that's not the real question. The answer to her question, which is 'are you reeling from what it was', is thankfully 'no'. Not today.
"Yeah," Dick says honestly. "Peachy, even."
Donna smiles at him.
She deposits him back at her kitchen counter, declares she's going to make real breakfast- apparently she's been breaking her fast with fruit jerky all week- and starts grilling Dick the same time she starts frying up sfakianopita.
"So which straw broke the camel's back?"
"My brother implied I'm mildly useless and I took offense."
"Only 'mildly' useless convinced you to get out of hell? I'm not complaining, but that doesn't sound like you."
Dick bites down the instinctive urge to deflect, to push her away. Donna wouldn't care even if Tim insulting him had been his only grievance. Donna is happy to have him here.
"Nah, it was more of a... death of a thousand cuts kind of thing. Yesterday was a bad night, and I thought about it some- which, you know how that usually goes- I thought about it, and I'm tired of not taking any of it personally. Even if they don't mean it, I don't want to put up with it. Then Tim comes in with an unmistakably personal attack and...."
"And you made the best decision."
Dick's mouth twitches up. "They wouldn't call it that."
"They have terrible decision making skills."
Donna starts stacking the sfakianopita on two plates.
"That's not true, they just don't always pay attention."
"Who does these days?" Donna gripes.
"You," Dick says.
Donna turns toward him, one hand on her hip, one hand pointing her spatula at Dick's face. "You don't make it easy, Dick."
Dick shrugs emphatically. "What can I say? I was born difficult."
"Not difficult," Donna shakes her head. "Just challenging."
"And you like a challenge?" Dick grins.
Donna bops him on the shoulder with the spatula. "Get it right, Dick. I love a challenge."
Well, doesn't that make Dick feel warm and cozy? Donna smirks at him like she's won something (she has and they both know it) and turns to root through her fridge for cheese. Dick gets out of his seat to find the honey while she does.
__________
Dick crashes on Donna's couch for exactly nine days before she tells him they're getting a new place together. Dick tells Donna that he always intended on getting his own space- a misstep, since Donna argues that's exactly why they should get a new apartment. A two bedroom, where Dick can have more privacy.
"I don't want to impose, Donna."
"Have you ever considered what I want?"
Dick sighs. "What do you want, Don?"
"I want company. It's been a lonely year, D. I enjoy when my friends impose."
There's not much he can say to argue that. Isolating himself never leads Dick anywhere good, anyway.
Between apartment hunting and catching up, Donna and Dick fight supervillains. New York City never lacks for things to do- smugglers to send packing, wannabe world conqueror to thwart, assholes to kick in the face. Dick had honestly forgotten how fun it is to patrol during the day.
He adds some some gold back into his costume. Dick's surprised by how much he likes it- it was his idea, yet when he catches glimpses of blue and gold and black all blurring together in high rise windows, beside Donna's sea of stars, Dick feels more like himself than he has in long, long time.
He starts picking up a lot of dropped habits. He makes dinner; real dinner, like Madam Vasilyev used to make on the train's little stove, and like he would sometimes make for the Titans for family team dinners. It's so much easier to make things when it isn't for him alone. Donna is happy to let him, having no great love of cooking herself, and always supportive of non-cape hobbies.
She's full of surprises, though. Dick had tried to teach all of his friends at least one or two meals they could make from scratch themselves, just in case. He hadn't thought about whether any of it had been retained, though, not now, so many years removed. Not until Donna one day bestows upon him a pot of chicken paprikash and he almost cries.
It's delicious. Just like his parents used to make, whenever they could find a grocer who sold paprika. Just like he taught Donna to make it in the Tower an entire lifetime ago.
"Did I get it right?"
"Did you make it with love?"
"Of course."
"Then you got it perfectly right."
Other than dinner, he starts gardening. Nothing serious, but the new apartment has a couple of windows, so Dick plants a window box full of herbs.
He plants cilantro first. The seeds were on sale at the hardware store, so the whole box was just cilantro, for a while. Donna buys live basil from a grocer she likes, so one of the cilantros gets pawned off to a neighbor, and their pasta sauces taste awesome.
It's not the most exciting hobby, but it gets him out of bed on Bad Days.
Those days, it's hard to do anything at all. It hits him, when the clouds are just the wrong color, that he and Bruce are on the outs again. He hates being on the outs with Bruce, hates that it means another bond between them has snapped. Makes him catastrophize about whether or not this is finally the fence that can't be mended.
At least it's not nearly as bad as it was Before. Dick hadn't understood, back then, what Bruce's problem was. Now that he's older he knows Bruce had never had to let someone walk away before- even with Talia, B had been the one to walk away first- and took Dick's bid for independence badly as a result.
He'd swung by Gotham exactly once for Jason, and stole the kid away to Tower at every opportunity. He'd made sure Jase was present in Dick's space the way Dick was no longer welcome in Bruce's.
He'd gone back to Gotham exactly one other time, after Bruce held Jason's funeral without so much a ping on Dick's pager. All that accomplished was losing Dick his house key. Until Tim barged in.
Donna and Dick were winding down for the night, enjoying a nice bottle of wine and a shared bowl of plantain chips, when Dick makes another decision.
"Donna."
"Dick." She tosses a chip in the air so she can catch it in her mouth.
"I've had an epiphany." He swirls the wine in his glass playfully. Donna leans forward in her chair.
"Do tell."
"Every time I don't want to talk to Bruce, he finds a new stray child to bring home. And I always go, because what I am supposed to do? Not keep an eye on them? But Bruce has a billion orphans-"
Donna snorts. "A billion?"
"Okay, fine, half a dozen orphan children roosting in his house full of ghosts, and it's probably inevitable that there will be another and you know what, sister?" He drains the rest of his wine glass while she stares at him.
Donna seems to consider him, or maybe she zones out, but after a moment she similarly liberates her glass of its wine.
"Lay it on me, Robin."
"I'm not going back this time. Not until someone actually apologizes, not if there's a new bat, not if there's another secret baby, not for any of that bullshit. Tim's as old as I was when Tim first came around, so he can deal with it. Or Cass. Or Babs. Or Bruce can keep his act together for longer than two weeks at a time I don't care. I won't be lured back for family drama. Not this time."
Dick stops to breathe. A mistake, really, as it's the perfect opportunity for stinging anxiety to start buzzing under every inch of his skin. He's an idiot. What a stupid thing to say, what a stupid idea to even have-
Donna is in front of Dick. When did she get out of her chair?
"Richard John Grayson."
"Donna Hinckley Stacy Troy."
I've come to a decision, too. Tell me if it's a good one."
Then she pulls him into a hug. Dick swallows heavily and lets himself be held, for a while.
"Good decision?" Donna asks.
"I think so," he says. He wraps his arms around Donna, reciprocating- God, how long has it been since he's had a reciprocal relationship? Donna squeezes and he throws the thought out of his mind. The awful pull against his insides has subsided, so now he's just warm and loose.
"Donna, do you like my decision?"
"I really really do."
__________
When they were still in Donna's old apartment, various Gothamites tried to contact him. A lot of voicemails are angry and accusing. He listens to them once just in case and deletes them right after. He gets texts from Tim that he knows are meant as olive branches, but they're all offers of joint patrols, or going over case files together, or similar Mission oriented activities.
It's hard to turn him down, especially since he knows Tim won't understand. It's easier to ignore Bruce's messages, sparse as they are, demanding explanations.
Cass had broken into Donna's apartment. Donna had been out with a friend she met in her photography club, doing yoga maybe? Dick had been making egg fried rice for lunch when a wild Bat appeared.
Dick had smiled politely, which seemed to confuse her. Dick had offered to share his lunch, which seemed to make her feel better.
Theyâd eaten in silence for a while, Cass occasionally staring hard at him while Dick waited for her to make the first move; exactly how Dick would treat a hungry kid he didnât know. You never know what will spook a stranger, after all.
Bowls empty, Dick had gone to pick hers up to wash when she caught his wrist.
âWhat are you doing?â
âIâm trying to wash up after our lunch.â
Cass squints at him, exaggerating her expression to make sure he gets her memo.
âYou know what I mean. Donât pretend.â
âIâm not pretending to do the dishes,â he answers calmly, blandly.
âStop pretending you donât know me!â
âWhat would you prefer I do?â
âGo home.â
âNo.â
That doesnât seem to be what sheâd expected him to say. Sheâd expected pushback, for certain, but flat refusal, nothing else? An unwelcome miscalculation.
âWhy not?â
âAt the moment, I wonât feel at home in Gotham. As far as Iâm concerned Iâm at home right now.â
âLiar,â sheâd hissed. Dick was watching, tho, and saw the confusion in her stance. Her eyes told her he wasnât lying at all. Deliberately on Dickâs part, not entirely truthful, yet not entirely manufactured- the apartment may not be special to him, but Donna always will be.
âI have no reason to go to Gotham right now.â
âYour team is there.â
âIâm not on Team Bat at the moment.â
âYou canât quit-â
âCassandra. My roommate will be home soon. I suggest you leave now, if you have nothing to say on your own behalf.â
Itâs a low blow to call her a messenger, to write her off as nothing but a mouthpiece for Bruce or Tim or maybe even Damian. Dick wouldnât feel bad about it if they werenât close, so he wonât feel bad about it now; sheâs the one who didnât want partner, Dickâs just respecting her wishes.
Cass stares and keeps staring so long heâs worried sheâll refuse to leave, but then they both heard footsteps in the hall, and by the time Dick turns back toward her sheâd already gone.
The next morning, Dick had a new message from Bruce. It was an email, that time, instead of a text, which more than anything actually written lets Dick know Bruce has caught on to whatâs happened. What is still happening. The email begins âMr. Grayson-Wayneâ and Dick doesnât read a single word further.
__________
Wally visits the new apartment shortly after they move in. Apparently, Nightwing being in town again has caught the interest of an opinion columnist or two, and Wally had wanted to see him with his own eyes.
âYouâre hanging out with people again!â
âI never stopped,â Dick protests. âWe see each other once a month, Wally.â
âScheduled visits- ugh, itâs like you were in prison, and I only got to see you during your time in the yard.â All of this is dramatically declared as Wally flops on their couch, taking up space and definitely bothering the neighbors.
It should annoy Dick. It should at least hurt his ego. Instead, it makes him bloom into a smile, and throw himself onto the couch next to his friend.
âDonna and I have been having a great time without you,â he teases. âWe could have an even better time with you, if youâre up for it.â
âDickie, I thought youâd never ask.â
The Flash joins Dick and Donna for a fight every now and then, patrolling as often as work and Central City will allow. Itâs good- itâs really, really good.
âWhy did we disband?â
âBecause we grew up?â
âTerrible decision.â
âAdulthood is overrated.â
âI donât know, I certainly wouldnât want to be a teenager again, would you?â
âNah.â âNO!â
Wally looks away from the conversation he started, and his eyes find the window box. âHey Ds, is that a garden?â
âItâs mine,â Dick says. âRight now itâs just cilantro and basil. Iâm open to suggestions.â
Wally gives him a once over, looks again at the plants, then changes the subject. The next time Wally comes over heâs holding a pot of chives.
A couple of months later, thereâs a siren hiding out in the Harbor. It kicks Dickâs ass and Donna almost drowns. It occurs to them that they are idiots, and that they shouldâve called Garth. Garth, thankfully, both answers his communicator and has time for them, so they get to watch Tempest absolutely destroy the siren.
Afterward, they go for pizza. They ask Garth if he would want to come around more often maybe, just because?
Garth smiles brighter than the moon.
The first time they stop a supervillain downtown together, itâs all the papers will talk about the next day. Someone got an excellent picture of all four of them in action. Flash is about to pounce, so heâs still enough to see. Heâs tagged in with Donna, distracting the giant rat monster from the air so Flash can trip it into the river. On the bank, left of center in the photo, Tempest and Nightwing and are on standby. Garth will drench the awful thing, all fifteen stories of it, once itâs close enough to the water, and Nightwing will fry the thing with all the electricity his sticks have got.
They work together smoothly, and they cheer when they win, and the papers all ask, âTitans Back Together?â
After a while of mulling it over, they unanimously decide to answer âyesâ.
Listen I love the âdicks being ostracized from his family and self destructsâ trope in fics however
I would like an inverse just once (I could write it but I want this fic to be good so I can enjoy it and I am not the greatest writer) where everyone blows up at him and flat out lays into him and he just goes⌠okay⌠if thatâs how you feel?
Takes himself off of the patrol routes and rosters. Heâs off the emergency calls and his âcall for city wide emergencyâ has been down graded to âcall for world wide emergencyâ heâs no longer on comms with oracle
He stops offering assistance to the other kids teams, doesnât send info for investigation and doesnât go within 100feet of Gotham.
Takes himself off the den-mother, baby sitter, trainer for all the younger teams lost that involve any and all bats
In the beginning he vacates his apartment and temporarily moves in with Donna in New York and things are good because of course they are. Theyâre Dick and Donna a world doesnât exist where they arenât okay.
And then his presence in New York leads to a lot of the og core five titans interacting and they realize that they miss each other like hell and start to work together more and more. Until news sites are like âteen titans grown up??â âOriginal titans spotted doing hurricane aid in Florida!
Because Dick loves his family but he knows when to bow out. And he chose the family he made in the new teen titans.
And then one day one of the bats track him down in nyc and breaks into what is now Dick and Donnaâs apartment and are ready to argue that they need him back and need him there for a huge Gotham wide event.
And Dick says âsure okay let me get my stuff and we leave in half and hourâ as soon as the first sentence is out
No convincing or begging or asking for money (cough Jason cough)
Dick is patched into their comms and heâs working efficiently except heâs not⌠acting like himself.
Heâs collaborating with whoever they tell him too, no problem, heâs discussing ideal plans and co-ops and teams and how to best get it under control.
But heâs talking to them the way he talks when heâs offering aid to teams heâs not a part of.
Like the hero version of an acquaintance and no one can call him out on it because heâs doing good work. Work thatâs on par with his work before this whole fiasco. He explicitly isnât letting their personal issues affect his work.
Heâs speaking but not talking
And Bruce remembers this⌠heâs probably the only one who does because last time he was the only one included. The last time Dick acted like this is when he first visited Jason and him after he had been fired.
Whenever Bruce was in the room and Dick was forced to speak with him, the conversation never strayed past business casual especially around Jason.
Batman and Nightwing got into screaming matches
Bruce and Dick were strangers
And now theyâre back to this, 7 kids later, a million ends of the world stopped, theyâve bled together, cried together and clung to each other in pure relief after they managed to clutch victory.
And Nightwing was treating Batman Inc like a new team stepping onto the scene.
Once theyâve secured everything and managed to keep Bruce from self destructing and making it worse. Dick just leaves and tells oracle that heâll send over his debrief in 3-5 business days and it was nice working with them.
And then heâs gone
No cave, no manor, no Alfred, no med-bay because Dick doesnât stay places heâs not welcome.
And after they all talk about that and how weird it was and Bruce reveals Dick did this before when he was Nightwing after Bruce fired, where Dick Grayson didnât know Bruce Wayne.
And one of the kids asks when he broke and stopped the act and Bruce just says âthe day he found out Jason diedâ
And the Batkids kinda freak bc what do you mean?? What is he only going to come back when someone dies? Thats not? There has to be another way?? And Bruce is like yeah no idea sorry (bc heâs helpful like that)
So then Steph the next day resolves to go visit him, Tim isnât the only professional stalker. And she finds Dick and Donnaâs apartment and well itâs daylight and sheâs in civvies sheâs if she climbs in through the window she might get reported to the NYPD and she doesnât wanna get arrested or shot to door it is!
And so she goes and knocks and Dick opens the door and just lights up
Something something this is such a nice surprise something something itâs so good to see you.
Dick had taught Donna how to make some of his mother recipes when they were kids. So now whenever theyâre together for a long time they cook together.
So Dick who is usually living in a cluttered apartment with no clean dishes and an exclusively grab and go food is now trying to force feed her some of his cooking.
Because he picked up the habit again since heâs the better cook between him and Donna.
And itâs delicious and he wants to catch up and hear everything thatâs going on in her life, is she working with new people, dating anyone? How is her relationship with her mother etc etc.
Itâs a nice day and she stays late and never confronts him on anything until she sees how long ago the sun set and she needs to get moving.
He hands her paper with his number and makes her promise not to give it to the others or she will lose access to it, he offers to help her on a conditional basis as nightwing but only her, she can call him about the rest if itâs an end of the world or theyâre near death and need immediate aid.
And thatâs like the fic because the key to winning nightwings assistance is like breathing (optional) but if youâre Dicks family you have to care or else. Heâll love you and help you, when you need it but he wonât tie his life up with yours, heâll spend his time with people who value his opinion and the person behind the mask.
Anyway cue all the Batkids trying to do what Steph did and fail because theyâre neurotic shits who think bonding involves doing casework together or a steak out.
(The next person to crack it is Damian, completely unintentionally he has a fight with Bruce and canât ask him how the fuck heâs supposed to solve this equation in the new stupid way theyâre teaching him no he canât use the old method theyâre supposed to show their work so he pulls up to Dick and Donnaâs in a ratty ass hoodie like plz wtf do you mean you work top down explain Grayson- and dicks like awww no problem kid)
#dick and donna my loves#spreading my Dick 'has an herb garden' Grayson agenda#may or may not put this on ao3- if I do I'll write the other half of the pitch but I really just wanted to write Donna lol#thanks for the prompt op

finding out that Small town meta reader speaks French gave me many ideas. especially adding pregnant readers to the mix.
Just reader singing this song(Love Story - Indila (Orchestra Version + Layered ~ Slowed + Reverb on 5:31) to her baby and the bat family just watching her from the batcave be so kind and loving to her baby...
TAKE NOTES PEOPLE THIS IS HOW YOU TAKE CARE OF A CHILD
There is a legitimate thing were people activity decide to raise their kids better then how they were raised, and Iâd like to thank my dad for actually trying to do that.
That being said, could you imagine all the touching heartfelt moments Pregnant!Reader would have with their child that the BatFamily would have to just watch. The angst from Pregnant!Reader trying to emulate their dead mother would be so tear jerking.
Even if they somehow keep Reader with them, Bruce is going to feel actual guilt about what he didnât do for Reader as a father while being reminded of his own parents and feel their crushing disappointment in him from beyond the grave.
Everyoneâs mommy issues would be acting up like crazy, too. I see Damian being the most jealous of Readerâs child despite being their biological uncle, while Jason just gets the most messed up mentally from how much it makes him hurt to watch.

Question for the DP fandom:
Do you think Dannyâs hair turns white when it falls out? Itâs technically dead cells anyway but when it naturally falls off his head, do you think it turns white? He stays where he is, safe in Bruceâs hold, as he works on fully calming himself down. Calming his heartrate, his breathing, until itâs slow and steady and matches Bruceâs. Itâs stupidly comforting, being in the manâs arms.
Until it isnât.
Heâs fine until heâs not. All at once, the reassuring embrace is restrictive, confining. The space is too small and he has to force himself not to panic because heâs not there again. Heâs not restrained on a warehouse floor, or trapped in a casket, heâs in his room in the manor being hugged, thatâs all. That illogical hindbrain of his insists he needs to get out, though, so he worms his way free. Pulls back and away until heâs no longer being held and he can breathe again.
Takes another second to remind himself of where he is.
âExplains why I feel like shit,â he croaks. Two days? He seriously needs some water. Come on, Bruce, do better. He snorts. âOr maybe that was the sword.â And all the other various injuries heâs sure he sustained. He makes a grabby hand vaguely in Bruceâs direction, the other hand grabbing the sheets and using them to wipe at his face. âYou got some water or something, old man? Itâd be stupid if you put in all this work just to let dehydration do me in.â
Swallowing thickly, he lets his eyes wander the room again. Slower, taking in more details, this time. Itâs not like he can remember exactly what state heâd left it in last, but it looks like itâs been untouched since then. Jason had never been the messiest of kids, but there are things laying around that Alfred would never have left out, if heâd been sent in here to clean. And Bruce is extra, sureâhas to be to dress up as a bat to fight crime at nightâbut taking all his stuff out of storage, or buying replacements for everything, and then staging it all to look lived-in like this is a bit much, even for him.
He glances at the door. âDamianâs okay?â He thinks he asked back in the alley, but between the pain and the blood loss, things are admittedly a bit fuzzy. âHe found you?â
This, at least, hasn't changed. Jason had never reacted well to sudden contact; habit from being on the streets, Bruce has always assumed, because he hasn't wanted to think about the kind of man Jason's father might have been. So the sudden tensing, the stiffening as he hugs his boy, isn't all that surprising, and it doesn't make him let go.
He just holds Jason, holds him until the boy relaxes, clings to him, and then his arms tighten. Still gentle, still mindful of Jason's wounds, but protective, a barrier against anything that might try to harm his son. Jason is home now, he's safe, and there are very few things Bruce won't do to ensure he stays that way.
"You're safe," he assures Jason again, ignoring the tears soaking through his shirt. Shirts are replaceable, they're not important. Jason is important, and Jason needs him right now. "You're safe, Jason. You're home and you're safe."
And, Bruce is realizing now, it had to have been Jason who'd sent Damian to him. Given Damian the code - a code Jason hadn't even been sure Bruce would respond to - and sent him to Gotham. His arms tighten around his son again, quiet pride and gratitude swelling in his chest. That's my boy.
He doesn't let go, either. Doesn't plan to until Jason tries to pull away. As long as Jason stays tucked against his chest, then that means Jason needs him; Bruce has failed him too much already to fuck it up again.
Jason's insistence on his anger actually pulls a faint smile out of Bruce, wry and resigned and, yes, perhaps even relieved. "âŚthat's fine," he says softly. "I let you down, badly. But let yourself rest before doing anything about it; you've been out for two days as it is."

Batman has/had some kind of miscommunication going on with every single one of his kids. The bat family is just one big miscommunication trope after the other.
#him and Dick have miscommunication about how they see each other. Bruce sees Dick as a son and Dick sees Bruce as a father#but they didnât think the other saw them that way so they never told each other. thatâs what led to their fights in Dickâs later teenage#years and dick quitting and becoming nightwing. he thought Bruce only saw him as a ward/robin so he thought that as long as he couldnât be#robin Bruce wouldnât want him#and if didnât help when Bruce stopped talking to him when he left. though to Bruce it was because he thought Dick didnât want to talk to him#and also Dick really needs to tell Bruce like âhey you put me on a higher pedestal then you put even yourself which is saying something and#and I donât like that cuz thatâs too much pressure for me. and also since you did it everyone else does it and has done it since I was Robin#and itâs literally just a matter of time before I break from the pressure cuz Iâm not fucking Superman and I canât take itâ#and Jason with the whole UTRH thing. you know all Bruce had to say was that he had tried killing the joker over Jason multiple times and#maybe just explain to Jason WHY he doesnât kill. a simple âyouâre better than me because if I killed one person Iâd kill everyoneâ#or it could even just be a simple âI do love you Jason youre the kid that I felt most comfortable lovingâ#and also maybe a âI donât think anything changed after my death and that makes my death meaningless which I think goes against your no kill#rule because I hat is the rule of not a reminder taht death means something. and by that logic my death already went against the rule so why#canât you do it again for the man that murdered me.â and Bruce needs to make a presentation: âall the ways Jasonâs death meant somethingâ#and Tim just needs a simple âI donât see you as work I see you as family.â maybe even a âyou donât have to be the grown up in this relati#anymore Iâm sorry you were one to begin with. you shouldâve always been the childâ#now his miscommunication with Damian goes much deeper but Iâm one hundred percent sure if they sit down and air out all of their feelings it#would help a lot but I have a feeling that wonât happen#a âI have trouble understanding you because both your trauma and compassion run deeper than mine and I also never had to grow up to be a#weaponâ from Bruce and a âI donât understand your optimism and moral stubbornness and easness why is it so easy to be good for u?â#his miscommunication with Cass stems from two things a simple âwhy are you so afraid to show how deeply you love?â from Cass maybe a#âIâm jealous of you because youâre better than me not only in fighting but morally and emotionallyâ from Bruce should fix it#and Stephâ look Iâm not even going to TRY to get into that that goes SO much deeer and wider than any one elseâs miscommunication#but maybe a âyou reminded me of Jason at a time where that wasnât a good thingâ from Bruce should start things up#for Duke a âI can never truly understand what youâre going/have gone through and for that Iâm sorryâ from Bruce should suffice#maybe also Bruce telling him that just because he sees Duke as a son doesnât mean heâs trying any less to get Duke his parents back#oh and babs just needs to go up to him and say âI donât like that what happened to me happened for your story and not mine and I donât like#that you donât let me make it into my storyâ and then Bruce can follow up and say âI see so much of myself in you and it makes me worry and#also I can never look at you without feeling guilty cuz youâre right what happened to you happened for MY story so Iâm at faultâ#then the two can go back to being too much like each other and sitting at their respective computers

Would they or would they not catch youâŚ
Dick: yes. 100% yes but heâs -no pun intended- a little bit of a teasing dick about it.
He will catch you but then act as though heâs going to drop you by loosening his grip, making you scream out of surprise and cling onto him tighter, all the while beaming that bright and beautiful smile of his as though he wasnât about to willingly let you fall flat on your ass on multiple occasions.
âI fucking hate you!â You whined, smacking Dick on the bicep.
âOh do you now?â Dick inquires as he slowly begins to losses his grip on you, smirking.
âDid I say hate you? I meant love you, a lot! Please donât drop me.â You cried as you tightened your grip on his neck whilst struggling to keep your feet from touching the floor. âAwww I love you too gorgeous.â Dick coos as he pressed kisses into your face as you could only glare at the cheeky bastard.
You hate him sometimes but you werenât going to complain about the affection you were being given. So you guess youâll suffer for now.
Side note: he might even try and see if you can catch him. đ
Jason: He will catch you but makes it a big deal whenever he can. He loves holding you in his arms.
He could keep you in his arms forever if he could but knew that he canât, so he settles for going about his day carrying you throughout the apartment instead.
âYou can put down any day now.â Youâd tell him but that only makes Jason tighten his grip on you as he moved in his makeshift library for a book to read.
âNo.â He simply replied, scouring the many book titles in front of him in the hopes that one might speak to him. You pout. âWhat do you mean no?â Jason then looks at you and says. âNo means no. As in no I will not put you down because I do as I like and will not be told otherwise, so the cutie currently in my arms has to deal with it.â He then smiles as he presses a kiss to your forehead before looking back towards the bookshelves.
You end up falling asleep in his arms and Jason couldnât help but smile at how cute you were, even if you did look like the living dead.
Damian: says no but will in fact catch you without hesitation.
However if you do try to tease him about it, then he will drop you without a second thought. âYou can catch yourself next time.â He would say as he walks away, leaving you with a bruised ass. Titus -who saw the whole thing- would come up to you to make sure you werenât genuinely hurt and encourage you to get up by nudging you with his head.
Donât test him because he will do it and then act like the whole thing didnât happen if you were to bring it up.
âDick.â Youâd say as you stood up.
âI heard that.â Heâd call back, his voice echoing off the walls. âYou were meant to.â You reply. âAnd at least Titus came to check up on me to see if I wasnât hurt.â Youâd add while scratching Titus behind the ear.
Needless to say you were more cautious when choosing Damian to catch you. However he does apologise for dropping you on your ass by gifting you something he himself drew by hand; He secretly doesnât like it when youâre upset with him and will do anything to rectify it.
What a sweetheart.
Bruce: heâs too use to you pulling this type of shit that itâs basically muscle memory for him to catch you as youâre running towards him, all with a straight face mind you.
Be grateful because he risked a much needed bowl of Mulligatawny soup just to catch you in his arms, but then again the kisses you bombard his cheek is more than reward enough, a small almost missable smile appears on his lips as he then proceeds to carry you for the rest of the day as âpunishment.â
( this only occurs when Bruce is feeling particularly affectionate or playful)
Much to your batkids -Dick, Jason, Tim, Damian, Duke, Cass and Steph- dismay. Theyâd want to use this as blackmail, but they know that it will backfire as youâll probably hang the photo on a wall somewhere in the manor, reminding them of how disgustingly their parents can be when given the opportunity.

You may not be able to see @andthendk's gifs embedded in AO3 anymore, and thats because enough people loved and downloaded them that it broke my dropbox bandwidth limit for the day đ
I was today years old when I learned that was a thing! They should be restored tomorrow, but to prevent a repeat issue I'm reposting everything here. You can download the gifs from this tumblr post (compressed to meet upload requirements here), but please don't nab them from AO3 - they are hosted there via an embedded link that counts each download against me. Thanks and sorry for the trouble! đ
Sway
It was bad right from the beginning. The physical threat the Red Lanterns posed was one thing, the blinding rage that assaulted her mind was far worse. Raven concentrated fiercely to keep the brunt of it at bay, but each little bit that slipped through was like a needle in her psyche. Soon enough it was as though a swarm of hornets was assailing her, their sharp, relentless stings driving her closer and closer to the locked door where she kept her own anger.
It didnât help how much Ysmault reminded her of Trigonâs realm. A red, rank, screaming world that seemed almost designed to regress her. The only living things here were her and her fellow heroes; their foes had no heartbeat and the landscape itself was made up of bones, blood, and burning rock. Over all of them was the Red Lanternâs power battery, bathing the scene in malignant light.
Raven couldnât say when that door eventually cracked open, she only knew it had when she saw her clawed, red hand wrapped around a foe's throat, felt the heat of him in her grip, peered into the raw, animal madness in his eyes. She shouldnât be this close, it wasnât her style. Raven fought best from a distance, methodically and without any joy in the act. Now she was in the thick of it, reveling in the up close and personal degradation of her enemies. It was wrong, she knew it was wrong, and yet it felt so good . Truly, she had forgotten how good anger could feel. The Lantern in her grasp spewed more of his viscous, spoiled blood at her trying to win free of the iron grip on his throat. Raven tightened her hand instead, cutting off the stream and tossing him aside. Her enemies' corrosive, burning blood had no effect on her â sheâd been bathed in hotter fires than they could ever match.
She and Damian sat there quietly, too exhausted to talk, too edgy to sleep. Itâs done, itâs over, relax now , Raven kept telling herself. But the trials of their battle werenât so easy to shake off. The unhinged fury of the Red Lanterns was like a needle in her mind, sharp and relentless. Sheâd been able to resist the worst of it, but enough had gotten through to her. The worst part was that everyone had seen. Everyone could still see. Raven did not wear fury well.
She shifted in the Javelinâs jumpseat, trying to get more comfortable. Instead the move just reminded her that she was covered in the viscous, spoiled blood Atrocitusâs minions spewed with abandon. The tacky, wet feeling of it repulsed her even as it compounded her shame and guilt. Â
She tried again, futilely, to force the emotional echoes from the Red Lanterns from her mind, glad that she and Damian were alone in this part of the Javelin. The seats near the front were occupied by Titans and Leaguers alike, licking their wounds and trading happy banter about their victory over the Red Lanterns. Raven stole a glance at her teammate, guilt and distress prickling her heart at the injuries that dotted his skin. She had promised to heal him as soon as she was back in full control of herself, to which heâd shrugged and told her in his blunt, cocky way not to worry about it. His gaze hadnât flickered when he saw her, nor when heâd met her golden eyes with his own. Even when they were kids Damian hadnât ever seemed bothered when he saw her like this, for which she was endlessly grateful.
He slumped a bit in his seat, arms crossed and eyes closed, though she knew he wasnât asleep. Raven decided to follow his lead and forced her body to relax, resting her head against his shoulder in hopes that some of his unshakeable composure could leach into her. Theyâd been here before and she knew he wouldnât mind. Change back damn it, she thought tiredly. Damian shifted alongside her to settle them both more comfortable and she moved with him effortlessly, exhaustion and contentment finally starting to cool her blood.
Minutes must have passed, but it felt like sheâd only just closed her eyes when a bright spike of emotion and noise opened them again. Supergirl and Shazam had taken seats opposite them, flamboyant in their giddiness. A quick look around showed the Javelin had filled up quite a bit since they first boarded and the whir of the engines told her theyâd be taking off soon.
âYou were amazing !â Billy was telling Kara, the raw admiration in his voice a dead giveaway for his real age. âAtrocitus totally didnât see it coming! I bet he thought it was Superman that hit him!â
âIt was just a lucky shot,â Supergirl said, but she was beaming from the praise. Raven couldnât help her tired stare, something twisting in her belly when she saw how immaculate the other heroine was. Not a spec of rancid blood, not a tear on her clothes, not a hair out of place. Raven admired her, envied her, maybe hated her. Donât be stupid. Weâd still be out there dealing with rage zombies if not for Kara . She was more spent than she realized, if she wasnât able to keep those small, petty emotions at bay.
âDonât even,â Billy went on, goodnaturedly. âYou oughta let loose more often. Donât let your cousin soak up all the attention.â
âMaybe I will,â she grinned back, her aura bright with satisfaction. Only then did Kara seem to take notice of her and Damian sitting across the shipâs aisle. Her smile slowly tapered off, and careful (forced) nonchalance overtook her expression. Billy followed her eyes and quickly adopted the same look. As their twin gazes crawled over her, Raven felt a sinking feeling. She knew what they were seeing.Â
Scarlet skin, black horns and claws, four feline yellow eyes. Not to mention the splatters of rank blood that decorated her body. Letting loose doesnât look quite as good on me as it does her. Â
Something unfamiliar stirred in her â shame? vanity? insecurity? she couldn't decide â and she dropped her eyes, reaching up to draw her hood over her head. The least she could do was hide her hornsâŚ
Damian caught her wrist in a firm grip and tugged her hand back down into her lap, thwarting her. She looked over in confusion and saw he was alert now, staring unflinchingly back at the two other heroes. His expression was neutral, but there was a clear challenge in the set of his jaw and the steely look his eyes. It was a look that both heroes and villains were known to quail from, and this time was no different.
Shazam was the first to break, ducking his head and muttering out a half-hearted pardon before hurrying to find another seat on the Javelin. Kara was soon to follow, albeit with a bit more grace and an uncertain smile for Raven. The empath felt a touch of guilt for her earlier, uncharitable feelings towards the heroine. It wasn't Kara's fault she was such a mess.
Damianâs unflinching stare followed them up the aisle before he finally turned his eyes to her, the fingers on her wrist sliding to coil with her own. He said nothing for a few seconds, just studied her from behind his mangled domino mask. Raven looked back at him wearily, feeling slightly bitter at his intervention and wishing he would have just let her hide. His expression softened and Raven blinked in surprise when she felt his thumb brush lightly against the skin beneath her second set of eyes before migrating north and tracing one of her ebon horns.
âYou have nothing to be ashamed of," he declared, finality in every syllable.
A profound affection swept through her, heating her blood in a different way than before and making her heart beat too fast. The feeling belonged to both of them, Raven realized, and was more than enough to sweep away the last few drops of rage poisoning her psyche. Her vision blurred for a quick second as four eyes became two. Damian dropped his hand, skimming her hair lightly as he did, and settled back against his seat. He kept his eyes on her and Raven felt the unmistakable pride in his gaze. She laid her head on his shoulder again; partly to hide from the power of his regard and partly because of an uncontrollable need for closeness.
He reciprocated, resting his cheek against the crown of her head and exhaling deeply. The sense that she was soiled or shameful, which had dogged her since the battle, was gone now, replaced with the inexplicable feeling that she was pristine.
âBut he who dares not grasp the thorn
Should never crave the rose.â

everyone talks about how bruce talks about his 'babies' as if they're just sweet little kids, when they are OBVIOUSLY not (shocking everyone who meets them). but i think dick would do the Exact Same Thing:
dick: "and you're gonna LOVE my baby brother jason, he's so smart, and has such a sense of empathy. but god does he just get bigger every day, they grow up so fast"
enter 6'5 literal mountain jason todd, who looks like he's going to snap someone's neck if they so much as look at him the wrong way.
dick: "sometimes i'm just blown away by tim's genius. i'm always so proud of him when he accomplishes new things, but every time it just reminds me how independent he's getting. he's so full of life too, it's hard to keep up with him."
enter tim, who looks like he's met death and bears all of the world's secrets. although perpetually battered and worn down, he is also, not a baby.
dick: "oh and damian... he's the littlest one, and he's just the cutest, always learning and wanting to be just like his big brothers. he's so sweet too, not a mean bone in his body"
enter damian.. this one fits the size description at least.

The Batboys being clingy headcanon:
Including Duke and Bruce <3
Hope you guys like it!
Tim Drake Timâs clinginess is low-key, but itâs also constant. Heâs the type to text you âWhatâs up? I miss you <3â while youâre just sitting 5 feet away from him. If you so much as stand up to go get a snack, heâs immediately there, like, âWhere are you going? Donât leave me.â Heâll lean against you, his hand finding yours without him even realizing it. When you're watching TV or reading, heâs definitely leaning into your side, trying to get as close as possible without being too obvious. But if you move to shift positions? Nope, heâs following you. Heâll slip his arm around your waist, all like, âDonât think I didnât notice that.â Heâs not a big PDA guy, but when itâs just the two of you? Prepare for cuddles, hand-holding, and small, random kisses. Heâs gotta be touching you constantly.
Jason Todd Jason is obsessive, no doubt. Heâs that partner whoâll try to act like heâs tough and independent, but the moment you show him any kind of affection, heâs all over you. Like, you canât just hug him. No. Heâll climb into your lap and basically trap you there, rubbing his face into your neck like a cat. Heâs gonna constantly ask for kisses, too, but not just little pecksâhe wants full-on, deep kisses where he can pull you close and remind you that youâre his. If youâre doing something, like, working or even hanging out with friends, heâll try to drag you away, be like, âHey, come hang out with me, stop ignoring me for two seconds.â Heâs possessive, but in the cutest way, constantly needing your attention. If you even talk to another person for too long, heâll give them side-eye and pull you back to him like, âYou good? Youâre not gonna leave me for some random guy, are you?â Heâs also the type to cling to you in bed, hogging the covers and curling up like a human koala.
Dick Grayson Dickâs clingy energy is pure gold. Heâs the most affectionate of the bunch and doesnât shy away from public displays of love. He loves hugging you from behind, nuzzling into your neck, and just randomly planting kisses all over your face. Heâll text you âmiss you <3â every few hours when youâre apart, and when youâre together? Itâs all about touch. Heâs sitting on your lap, or leaning on your shoulder, or pulling you into his chest just because he needs to be close to you. If youâre watching a movie, heâs definitely going to have his head in your lap, just to be as close to you as humanly possible. He gets giddy when he gets attention from you, too. You could be playing with his hair, and heâll melt. Heâll whine like, âIâm not clingy, youâre clingy. But also, I love it. So donât stop.â Honestly, Dick doesnât care if heâs acting like a bit of a puppyâheâs obsessed with you, and he makes sure you know it.
Damian Wayne Damianâs clingy moments are hilariously dramatic. He might start out cold, acting like he doesnât need anyone, but as soon as you show him any affection? Heâs all in. Heâll randomly grab your hand and hold it like itâs the most important thing in the world. If you try to walk away from him for whatever reason, heâll growl and pull you back in, like, âWhere are you going? Youâre staying right here.â He has this whole vibe of âI donât need anyone else, just youâ, so if youâre talking to someone else or looking away from him for too long, heâll wrap his arm around your waist and be like, âI donât think you should be talking to them. They might steal you away from me.â In bed? Heâs a hug monster, wrapping his arms around you like heâs never letting you go. Heâs all about the intimacy, thoughâwhen itâs just the two of you, heâll be soft and surprisingly vulnerable, making sure you know that he needs you more than he lets on.
Duke Thomas Duke is lowkey super clingy, but in the way thatâs goofy and endearing. He loves to follow you around, like, just wherever you go, heâs tagging along. Youâre going to the kitchen? Heâs there. To grab something from the laundry room? Heâs there. If you sit down, heâs sitting on the floor next to you, asking if you want to âcuddle and watch dumb shows together.â Heâs always finding excuses to touch youâlike, his hand will just casually rest on your knee or heâll come up behind you and play with your hair. And if you donât give him attention? Heâll pout, even if heâs trying to play it off, like, âArenât you gonna give me a kiss? Câmon, donât leave me hanging.â Heâs the type whoâll give you a silly smile, lean in for a kiss, and then pull you into a full-on hug like, âDonât go. Iâm not done with you yet.â Heâs all about the hugs, especially after a long day. Youâll be just chilling, and suddenly heâs like, âHug time, right? Let me get one.â
Bruce Wayne Now, Bruce is not the type to openly admit heâs clingy. Heâs still the stoic, brooding billionaire whoâs been through a lot, but when itâs just the two of you? Heâs softer than anyone expects. Heâll always make sure youâre physically closeâhis hand on your lower back, your legs touching when you sit next to him, and if heâs standing near you, his hand will casually rest on your arm. When youâre working late or doing something serious, Bruce will occasionally pull you away for a few minutes just to kiss you or hold you close. Heâs not great at asking for attention, but when heâs feeling clingy, heâll show you through little gestures. Youâll find him just sitting beside you in silence, just content to be in your presence. Heâs a man of few words, but when heâs clingy, itâs all about the touchâthe way he holds your hand, how he presses his shoulder to yours, and how heâll insist on driving you home or waiting up for you, just to make sure youâre safe.

Headcanon that Jason loves PowerPoints. Some elementary school tracher had a PowerPoint book report assignment, and it was all over from there
He makes a PowerPoint on why he should become Robin (success)
He makes a PowerPoint on why he shouldn't go to private school (fail)
He makes a PowerPoint on why Discowing is a stupid costume (Dick keeps it at least partly due to spite after that)
He makes a PowerPoint about why Two-Face is a scarier villain than the Joker (longterm fail)
He makes a PowerPoint on how that Drake kid creeps him out (No one shows it to Tim until Damian randomly finds it and adds five more slides)
He makes a PowerPoint on why Alfred should let him use the kitchen (success)
He makes and doesn't use a PowerPoint on why Bruce should join him in finding his mom (Bruce finds it after and cries)
He makes a PowerPoint on why Talia should help him get revenge on Bruce (technically success, but Taliaâs just using it as a distraction)
He makes a PowerPoint on why it was a good thing to kill his teacher (success)
He makes a PowerPoint on why killing Batman is basically the same as killing one of his teachers (fail)
He makes this PowerPoint right before heading back to Gotham (makes Talia smile, success!)
He makes a PowerPoint on why people should work for him (success)
Titans Tower actually ends up being a PowerPoint-off, but that sounds lame so they pretend the fighting lasted the entire time (success, Jason won)
He doesn't make a PowerPoint during his confrontation with Bruce on why to kill the Joker, which is good because Bruce probably would have started crying
He makes a PowerPoint about how Dick had chosen to wear Discowing and he couldnât back out now (Dick pretends like he hadnât changed his costume because it started reminding him of Jason too much)
He makes at least 2 PowerPoints on why Tim should join him (fail)
He makes a PowerPoint about why he should be the new Batman (fail)
For kicks, he makes a PowerPoint on why Damian would be a better Batman than Dick (Damian pretends like it didnât just make him like Jason)
He makes a PowerPoint on why Tim needs therapy (and should also join him) (fail, Tim pulls up a PowerPoint about why Jason needs therapy)
He makes a PowerPoint on why Bruce should have stayed dead (the arguments are badly composed, and it's the only way heâll admit he's happy Bruce is back)
He makes a PowerPoint about how he's only helping out the Batfam this one time (fail, he reuses the PowerPoint multiple times)
He makes a PowerPoint about how he's not actually rejoining the Batfam (fail, no one believes him)
He makes another PowerPoint about how he's not actually rejoining the Batfam (success, no one believes him)

Unexpected Hope
Damian has been disoriented all week. When he was told that stopping the ritual would have repercussions, he did not expect this. He had been dealing with the memories on his own but unfortunately he could not postpone this gala.Â
He had been stopping a ritual that would end up summoning the being he now knows as Undergrowth. Damien does not regret that choice especially now that he has the context. Unfortunately it brought back his memories of Phantom.
He didn't quite understand they were memories for quite a while honestly he was a little bit concerned he got possessed. Thankfully after some compartmentalizing and a little bit of isolation, he figured out what was wrong. It did not help the confusion that comes with being a Midwestern teen and an assassin child put into one body but he has gotten the hang of it.Â
Unfortunately Damian did not get long before he was forced back into the presence of his family. he had put off many public family events in the last few months so he was not able to get out of this event. he probably could have faked being sick but he'd much prefer to be able to pass off any of his symptoms from the memories as uncomfortableness being around strangers then be alone with his family.Â
He's honestly very happy with his choice after he sees her. He doesn't recognize her at first with the dark auburn braided hair and the dress being something other than black but something made him turn around when he heard her rant.
She was giving a humanitarian speech to one of the investors. At first he got closer just to hear about it. It's always funny to see the faces of the imbeciles when people don't bow to their wishes.
Damien thought he finally found someone who was not a gold digger or a social climber. What made him really stop in his tracks was her body language. It was like a neon flashing sign opened up and said âhey this is Sam Masonâ.Â
Damien walked over with hope in his chest that he was not alone. she eventually seemed to get tired of the man or maybe he was able to scramble an excuse and walk away. he couldn't quite hear but by the time he walked over there it was only her.
âyou seem to be quite passionate,â Damian says, trying to start a conversation and figuring out how to ask the hard question.
What is he exactly supposed to say? âHey, are you my best friend for my last life or hey do you remember being on my ghost hero vigilante team that ended up with all of us being Undead royalty.â
The girl looks him over, probably trying to figure out what he wants.Â
âAre you here to argue?â She says angrily, obviously ready for another fight.
âYour speech reminds me of someone, have you ever heard of Samantha Masonâ Damien says trying to be nonchalant.
Her eyes seem to widen and look him over again.
âWhere'd you hear that name.â She ordered.
âI've heard enough of her rants to be able to pick it out from a crowd.â
âDanny,â She said softly her grabbing his hands and squeezing as she looked around to make sure no one saw. âwhat how I thought it was the only oneâ Hope seemed to be filling her eyes.Â
âHi Samâ Damien Whispers just as softly just as glad he is not alone.Â
Without another word Sam drags them to the stairway rushing up to the floor upstairs and trying to find a room that isn't being used. She eventually finds one two floors above the room they were using for the gala and pushes him into what looks like a break room.
âHow the hell did you get your memoriesâ Sam demandsÂ
âWhy are you yelling at me? You have your memories too obviously if you are recognizing your nameâ Damian says shouting back at her.Â
Sam always has a way of catching him off guard. She was happy just a minute ago.Â
âyeah well I did something stupid which means I know you did something stupidâ Sam said pointing her finger at him.
â Well I may have accidentally stumbled upon a ritual for summoning an ancient and when I stopped it the backlash gave me my memories back. â Damien stumbled over their words trying to justify themselves. "What stupid thing did you do?â
âThe girls in my stupid Prep School in my grade went through a very witchy phase. there was a slumber party and they were stupid enough to actually find real magic. I had a cut on my hand earlier in the day and try to freak them out by adding a little bit of my blood. apparently my protection spell is literally stuck into my soul, so things went downâ Sam says just as hesitantly as Damien
âyou have zero leg to stand on okay fine we were both stupidâÂ
They both sat there in silence for a while, mostly just basking in each other's presents realizing they weren't alone anymore.
âit's good to have you back," Damian says, giving her a weak smile and running his hands through his hair.
He'd been trained out of all of his nervous ticks but it probably makes her more comfortable to see him just as nervous as she is.
âit's good to see you too da- do you have the same name?â both of them don't seem to realize at the same time that they didn't get each other's names.Â
âDamienâ he says as he pulls his hand out of his hair and puts his hand out for a handshake.Â
âSarahâ she says, grabbing his hand and giving it a shake.
the two of them shake their hand for a moment before they look at each other's eyes and burst out giggling.Â
Damien's really glad he decided to not pretend to be sick.

crushin' | jason todd
Summary: Barbara invites you to dinner with the Bats. She's done so before, and you've always declined, but this time, you agree because the Bat you've had a crush on for ages will be there. Little do you know, the only reason he's staying for dinner is because of you.
Pairing: Jason Todd x gn!readerÂ
Word count: 2.5k
Warnings/tags: batfam shenanigans, dick is a good meddling brother and deserves a fruit basket, fluff and humor, kissing, crushes, love confessions. just wanted to write something sweet and light :)
the divider
"So you're gonna press this," Barbara says, demonstrating on her own screen.
You follow along, clicking and typing. She nods.
"Good. Then you're gonna do this."
You open the file. A video of what looks to be Bruce drunkenly hula-hooping pops up. Your eyes widen.
"And that's how you keep Bruce in check," Barbara says, patting your shoulder. "Use sparingly. Only when he's getting on your last nerve."
"Wow," you say. "Babs, I... I don't know if I should have this kind of power."
"No, it's cool. I have dirt on everyone in this family, so really, it's my power. You're the only one who gets to see the vault."
You look at her. "You scare me."
She grins. "Thanks! Anyway, you're free to go. They'll be back from the mission soon, so our job is pretty much over."
The computer beeps. She checks the notification and types back. Then she hums.
"Or, you can, y'know, join us for dinner. Alfred keeps wondering when you'll do so."
You press your lips together. "I dunno, Babs... are you sure? I don't want to intrude."
"You're not. Seriously. And you know what I just found out? Jason will be here too."
Well. That does certainly stop your refusal in its tracks. You haven't seen Jason properly since he returned. You feel a pang of guilt at that; true, he's never at the Manor, at least not when you're around. But you could've reached out by now.
Still, being able to see him again properly is a wonderful opportunity. One you can't pass up.
"Okay," you say. "I'll join you all. As long as Alfred's okay with it."
She rolls her eyes, smiles. "Don't be ridiculous. C'mon."
You follow her to the elevator Bruce got installed for her. In the Manor, most of the family are sitting down to dinner. Damian and Cass are on one side of the table. Bruce is at the head. Alfred is still bustling in the kitchen.
You start to pull out the chair next to Cass, but Barbara startles you.
"That's Dick's chair!" She smiles sympathetically. "Sorry. He's particular. Isn't he, guys?"
"Yes," Cass says. "He's comfortable here."
"I've no idea what you're referring to, Gordon," says Damian. He nods at you. "Hello."
You smile. "Hey, Damian. That's fine. I'll sit next to you, Babs." You sit in the middle of three chairs, with Barbara on your right and an empty chair on your left.
"Hi, Cass. Hello, Mr. Wayne."
"Bruce," he reminds you. That's not happening. It feels way too weird to call him Bruce, even though you've known him since Jason was Robin. Just, no.
Cass smiles. "Hello. Glad to have you."
"Where's Tim and Duke?" you ask.
"Thomas is at university," Damian says. "Drake is probably with that idiot clone he calls a boyfriend."
Bruce looks up. "Tim and Connor are dating?"
"Good God," Barbara mumbles.
"Well, yes, Father. They've been dating for quite some time, even shared a room together. Last month, Drake went undercover in Atlantic City and the cloneâ"
"Old man! Where are you?"
"Jason, justâ"
"Shut it, Dickhead."
The grandfather clock swings open, revealing the Cave entrance. Up stomps Jason, followed by Dick. Jason has a smear of purple goo on his forehead, but otherwise is clean. His back is to you.
Jason points an accusing gloved finger at Bruce. "You owe me a new bike, new guns, new gear, new phone, newâ"
"Jason, slow down. Why exactly do I owe you new things?" Bruce asks.
"Because Tweedle-Dum here didn't scan the fuckin' spaceship that landed in Syracuse and melted my bike with purple goo!"
"It said it was empty," Dick says tiredly. "How was I supposed to know an abandoned ship would spit goo?"
"Okay, alright, boys, don't fight. Yes, Jason, I'll compensate everything you lost in Syracuse."
"Yeah, you will. And a new fridge." Jason thinks. "And a new TV."
"Master Jason," Alfred begins, walking into the dining room with a dish of roasted potatoes. "You may continue your bargaining with Master Bruce after dinner. Wipe that alien sludge off your face and have a seat."
Jason sighs. "Alf, I appreciate the invite, but you know I don't dine with most of the folks at this table. Gets real fuckin' crowded."
"Master Jason, watch your language," Alfred says sternly. "We have a guest. Behave like the young man I raised you to be."
Jason scoffs. "Who, Barbie? She doesn'tâ" He turns and stops, staring at you.
You smile, suddenly self-conscious. "Hi."
He swallows, eyes wide. "Hi. Hey."
"Aren't you staying for dinner?" you ask, confused. "Barbara said you were."
"Iâ" He glances at Barbara, then looks at you. "Uh. Well. I don't really..."
"C'mon, Jay, you guys should catch up!" Dick says brightly, already seated.
Jason's mouth sours as he turns to Dick. You pull out the chair next to you and tap the seat.
"You can sit next to me," you say, looking up at Jason.
He immediately turns back to you, lips parted. "Oh. Iây-yeah. Sure. Thanks."
"Master Jason. The goo," Alfred reminds, raising a brow. "And hang up your jacket."
Jason quickly backs up and bumps into the table corner. He winces.
"Right. I'm gonna... yeah. Be right back."
Jason disappears down the hall. Dick grins wolfishly at Barbara.
"You're amazing," he says.
"I know," she says, shrugging.
Alfred serves the last tray of vegetables, then sits. Jason soon returns, gloves and jacket away and goo-free.
"Did you style your hair, Todd?" Damian asks.
"No. Shut it." Jason scoots in his chair, glaring at his brother. But when you pass him the tray of roast, his expression softens. He smiles at you.
"Thanks," he says, and puts three slices on his plate. "Great roast, Alf."
"You haven't tried it," Alfred says, but looks very pleased.
"Don't need to."
"We're very glad you're here, Jason," Bruce says. "All things consideredâ"
Jason holds up a hand. "Ah-ah. I'm not here for you, old man. Save the speech for another day."
"And who are you here for, Jason?" Dick asks, propping his chin on his hands.
"None of your beeswax, Dick."
Dick shrugs. Damian begins to talk about an art project in school. You pay the appropriate amount of attention until Jason nudges your arm.
"Hey," he says, nodding at your empty glass. "Didja get something to drink?"
"Oh." Heat creeps up your neck. "Um, no. Sorry. I didn't know where to get the drinks."
"'S okay. Alf doesn't put out drinks anymore 'cause everybody drinks something different. You just help yourself to whatever's in the fridge. I'll get it for ya."
"Jason, you don't have toâ"
He holds up a hand, smiling. "C'mon, none of that. You're a guest. Orange Fanta, right?"
You blink. "You remembered."
"Uh." His cheeks go pink. "I mean, yeah. No biggie. I'll be back."
Jason stands. Immediately, the others pounce.
"Are you going to the kitchen?" Dick asks.
"No," Jason says.
"Can you get me another Diet Coke?"
"Todd, if you're going to the kitchen, I would like another lemonade, please," Damian says.
"I just said I'm not going to theâ"
"Master Jason, will you please bring this into the kitchen?" Alfred asks, holding up an empty tray.
Jason heaves a sigh. You wince.
"Sorry," you whisper.
He shakes his head and winks. "Nah, 's not you."
Obediently, Jason takes the tray and goes to the kitchen. He returns with a Diet Coke, which he tosses at Dick, who catches it with one hand, and a bottle of lemonade, which he throws to Damian who also catches it with one hand and a scowl. Finally, Jason opens the Orange Fanta for you and gently pours it into your glass, then sets the half-full can next to your plate. He sits down.
"Of course they get special treatment," Dick mumbles into his drink.
The table rattles, and Dick winces, squinting at Jason. The table rattles again, and Jason hisses.
"Boys," Bruce says wearily. "Enough."
"Yeah, Jason," Dick says, sticking his nose up. "Y'know it's my birthday soon. I deserve a brother who doesn't kick me."
"Oh, I'll tell ya what you deserve," Jason begins.
"Are we doing laser tag?" Cass pipes up from the end.
"'Course we are! Everybody's gonna be there." Dick looks pointedly at Jason. "Except my own brother. He refused."
You look at Jason, who's got a nasty glower aimed at Dick.
"You're not coming?" you ask.
Jason's expression melts away when he turns to you. "Uh, I meanâ"
"No, he's not," Dick says, pulling the saddest pout you've ever seen. "He said he wanted nothing to do with my stupid birthday."
"Those weren't my exact words."
"They were very close," Damian says.
"Shutâ"
"Jason, I can't believe you aren't going to Dick's birthday," Barbara says, shaking her head.
Jason's mouth falls open. "Et tu, Barbie?"
"You should come," you say, touching Jason's arm.
He immediately looks at your hand. You slowly remove it, smiling sheepishly.
"Then we can be a team," you say. "We're playing doubles. I'm horrendously bad at laser tag, but I bet we'd win together. I'd watch your six."
"Leaving them in the lurch, Jason?" Barbara tuts. "So unlike you."
Jason heaves a sigh. "For Godâokay. Alright, brother mine. You win."
You beam. "So you'll come?"
"'Long as you and I are a team," Jason says, a little shy.
You bump his shoulder with yours. "Of course."
Dick looks at you. "You should join us for dinner every night."
You laugh bashfully. "Thanks, Dick."
Dinner goes on. Bruce excuses himself early, as do Cass and Damian. Soon, it's the four of you plus Alfred cleaning up after dinner. You and Jason are loading the dishwasher when Jason hisses. He pulls out his hand, revealing a thin red cut on his palm.
"Are you okay?" you ask, hovering worriedly.
"Yeah, 'm fine. I'll take the trayâ"
"Jason, no," Dick says, herding him away from the dishwasher. "You have to get that wrapped immediately."
"What are youâdude, it's a tiny cutâ"
"Yeah, but there was food on there, and you have no idea what can get into the wound and make you sick," Barbara says seriously. "You need to get it cleaned right now."
Jason rolls his eyes. "Fine, whatever. There's a first aid kit in the closet."
"There isn't!" Dick says, shooing Jason toward you. "Alfred hasn't restocked it. You have to go to the Cave. You should both go."
"Yes, great idea," Barbara says, looking at you. "You have medical experience, don't you?"
"I mean, a little, butâ"
"More than us!" Dick says, shoving you both towards the hallway.
"I don't think so..."
"You take care of Jaybird here, he needs that hand," Dick says cheerily, opening the Cave entrance. "Go on, go."
"Christ on a bike," Jason mumbles, and heads down the stairs.
You follow, confused and concerned. The entrance slides closed. Jason goes to the medbay, muttering under his breath as he digs through one of the drawers with one hand. You join him, searching the top drawer for the antiseptic spray.
"Is the cut really bad?" you ask, trying to get a better look.
"No. My brother's just an idiot. Nothin' new."
You pull out the spray, some gauze, and a bandaid. Jason nods in thanks and goes to take it.
"I can do it," you say. "I do have medical experience, after all."
He snorts. "Fine by me."
You both sit on the edge of a cot. You turn to Jason and pull his hand into your lap. He inhales sharply. You stop.
"Is this okay?" you ask.
"Y-yeah. Fine. Sorry. I don't get touched a lot." Jason's mouth screws up. "Ugh. That sounded weird."
You laugh. "It's fine, I know what you meant."
He scratches the back of his neck while you clean his hand. He has big hands. Bigger than you remember. They're deeply scarred and calloused. You rub your thumbs over the pads of his fingers without thinking.
"You got soft hands," Jason says quietly.
"Heh. Thanks. The computer life."
He hums. "I didn't know you were working with Babs."
The guilt swims back full force.
"I know. I'm sorry. I should've reached out, Jason. I-I basically ignored you. Not on purpose! I just... I guess I wasn't sure where we stood and I thought maybe you'd be mad I was working for Batman after everything and I was afraid that we wouldn'tâ"
"Hey, whoa. 'M not mad." Jason finds your gaze. You frown. "I'm serious. I don't mind that you're working for Bruce. I mean, hell, I do too, on occasion. Mostly I just bitch at him."
You giggle. He smiles. You're still holding his hand. You don't really want to let go. Jason doesn't seem to want to pull away either.
"Well, even so, I'm sorry for not reaching out. I did miss you, Jason. And I'm glad you're back."
He clears his throat, ducking his head. "Huh. Well, I missed you too. And y'got nothin' to apologize for. I could've asked about you."
"Wellâ"
"Uh-uh, no, I'm the king of self-deprication. Y'can't take that from me," Jason says, eyes dancing with mirth.
You sigh dramatically. "Fine, fine. Can we say that we both could've reached out?"
"That's agreeable. And, uh, while we're clearing the air, I'm so terribly sorry 'bout my dumbass brother."
You tilt your head. "What do you mean?"
"Ah, huh. Hm. Well, funny thing. I kinda had a, um, crush on you, before. And Dick has it in his head that I... that I have a chance now. So... yeah."
"Before?" you ask.
You don't know why you're disappointed. It's not like you knew. Except maybe if you had, you wouldn't have missed out. Maybe you wouldn't have lost so much time.
Jason glances at you. "What... why are you sayin' it like that?"
"Like what?"
"Like you wish... that I..." He shakes his head. "Forget it."
"Jason," you say, barely a whisper.
He looks at you. His eyes flick to your lips, just for a millisecond. "Yeah?"
"Can I kiss you?"
A beat. Your heart falls.
"Yeah." Jason nods. "Yeah, kiss me."
You heart soars.
You hold Jason's face, still holding his hand. He gingerly touches your neck with his uninjured hand, strokes behind your ear with his thumb. Every nerve alights. You're kissing Jason Todd. The boy you've loved since you were thirteen.
"They did it! They're kissing!"
Jason growls against your mouth. You know it's not aimed at you, but it makes lightning shoot down your spine. Wow.
"'M gonna kill 'im," Jason mumbles.
You smile and pull back, just an inch. "It's nearly his birthday. At least wait till next week."
"Hm." Jason kisses the corner of your mouth. You like him so much. "Fine. Y'know you can convince me of pretty much anything? Wield that power carefully."
You wrap your arms around his neck. Jason braces you with a hand on the small of your back.
"I'm very flattered, but I think you're confused, Jay." A kiss to his jaw. "It's you who has a hold on me."

hope you have a great day bb
Heyyyyy, so this grew hands and wrote itself, I hope you enjoy it. It did end up with a lot of backstory.
Earned Position
5.3k words
You knew this would happen. Once your relationship with Bruce got out there would be an influx of love and hate. You also knew that everyone else knew that as well. It was common knowledge than anyone around a celebrity of sorts would experience that.Â
Of course you did the normal things, turned off most notifications and only looked through areas online you knew would mostly be safe. You blocked tags and and only followed people you knew or ones who didnât post about drama.Â
When you did stumble onto hate, you moved on. If someone kept sending you nasty messages you blocked them, when they made other accounts to keep sending the same things, you changed your settings so only those you followed could message you.Â
It wasnât something you wanted to deal with but it was something you could handle. Something you started mentally preparing yourself for when Bruceâs attention on you lasted more than 4 dates, even more so when you caught yourself daydreaming about him.
You were not going to let random bitter people on the internet destroy your happiness like they did their own. Your family however, wanted to destroy what was left of your haters' happiness. Something you were trying to curb, but trying to tell a family of vigilantes who considered you the best mom in existence not to destroy your haters was like talking to a brick wall. Over the years, you had gotten used to it. It barely even registered anymore. But there had been a recent influx of the hate and while it didnât bother you, it bothered the rest of your family. None of them could stand people talking bad about their mom.
While you hadnât been there while the older ones were young, the second you had introduced yourself to them, you had taken a very important role in their lives. None of them realizing it at first. All of them had gotten used to the random women Bruce brought home that it took a little while for them to realize how important you were.Â
Dick wasnât sure at first. Thinking you were just another girlfriend that wouldnât last long. So he didnât really interact with you much. Ignoring your existence when it wasnât too rude, or at least obviously rude. Until one night when he was staying at the manor and had a nightmare about his parents death.Â
Bruce had an open bed policy. As long as there was still room for him, his bed was open. A policy he had started when Dick had gotten old enough he was worried he wouldnât be allowed to go when he had a nightmare. Bruce had always reminded all his kids, that nightmares donât go away just because youâre older and that needing comfort wasnât something they would outgrow.Â
The thing was, you were there. Girlfriends didnât mind when children did it but they never liked it when his adult kids did it. The shaking in his hands and the way he saw them fall in the darkness of every blink told him the only way he was getting any sleep was with someone.Â
Hopefully he could just slip into Bruceâs side and leave before you woke up. That was the plan until he found Damian on Bruceâs side and you had been pulled closer to Bruce taking up what was left. You moved a little and Dick took that as his sign to deal with it himself until he heard you whisper his name. He hummed so you knew it was him and not some random stranger standing over Bruceâs side of the bed.Â
âNightmare?â
âYeah.â
âCome on.â You lifted the blanket next to you, âBruce told me you guys come here when you have nightmares. There's plenty of room over here for you.â Dick hesitated for a second before giving in. He needed sleep anyway. You werenât when you said there was plenty of room, Dick had most of your half of the bed. Once he had settled on his side, facing away from you, he felt you pull the blanket over his shoulders.Â
âNight Dick, sleep well.â For some reason, that was what did it. Once the tears started they didnât stop. Silent sobs made him shudder and he felt one of your hands gently rubbing his back. âOh Dick.â There was no pity in your tone and he found himself rolling over and curling into you. Your chin resting on his head while you rubbed his back.Â
The next day, he followed you around like a puppy. Your side of the bed became his favorite when he had nightmares and it wasnât long before he turned to you for general comfort over anything.
Jason met you at his grave. Neither of you exchanged words, but he caught something in your gaze he didnât quite understand. He also wasnât sure why you were at his grave either, he didnât know you when he was younger.Â
When he saw the Gotham News post about Bruce and Your 2nd anniversary, it brought more questions than answers. Why were you at his grave alone? Let alone longer than a few seconds. It was an odd way to gain more of Bruceâs affections.Â
Every Tuesday you would be there, leaving flowers and talking softly to the stone. Every time you left, you would smile and nod, the look in your eyes he couldnât figure out was still there. Every time he would strain to heat what you were saying and only be able yo a few words here and there.Â
6 months into it, the routine changed. You brought a blanket and Basket with your usual flowers. You did what you normally did with the flowers but instead of talking to the stone you waved him over. When he didnât move, you stopped what you were doing and looked at him.Â
âJason Todd, I have been keeping your secret for 6 months. Helping me spread this blanket and having lunch wonât change it.â He stared at you while you waited expectantly. Eventually when he could get himself to move, he came over and helped. He sat down where you motioned for him too, all while trying to figure out how you knew.
âBruce mentioned this used to be your favorite when you were younger so I asked Alfred to teach me how to make it. I hope it's up to your standards.â He looked at the plate of food you handed him. It was almost overflowing with food, all of which reminded him of the good times back at the manor before he died. âAlfred also sent your favorite cookies when he heard I would be eating at your grave.â The bag of cookies was placed next to the basket, within easy reach.
âWhy?â Was all Jason managed to choke out around the lump in his throat.
âI decided early on in life, no matter who I was with, I would love their family as my own. My grandfather hated my grandmothers side and it caused a lot of pain in all the generations. I decided I would never do that to another family.â Jason found himself back in control enough to start eating.Â
âSo when I started dating Bruce and he told me about you, I decided to treat you like you were my own. Even though I had never met you and you were dead. Most of what that meant was keeping your grave clean and always making sure there were fresh flowers. While I did that, I would tell you everything that was going on.â
âHow did you know it was me?â
âYour eyes, they may be a different color but they looked too similar. So I did a little digging and found pictures of your biological pictures to place the face shape it matched. I think however you look more like Bruce then either of them.â
âAre you going to tell them?â
âAs much as I would love to. Itâs your choice. Youâve been keeping this to yourself for a reason. If I can help you get to a place to tell them, I would love to. But I wonât say a word until you're ready. However, I would like to keep having lunch with you.âÂ
A year later, Jason reintroduced himself to the rest of the family a lot calmer than originally planned and was glued to your side anytime he felt overwhelmed that night. Every Tuesday after that, lunch was scheduled.
Tim was nervous when it came to you. He was still living in the manor so he saw you more than the older two. You always seemed nice and respected his privacy but Bruce was always with you so you obviously would.Â
It was when he wasnât around that worried Tim. Bruce attracted golddiggers and they were always mean when Bruce wasnât there. When you were given a copy of the key, Time braced himself.Â
Of course he knew that if he told Bruce anything that happened like that, Bruce would break it off. He had always told them that they came first. But he also knew that Bruce liked you a lot. All the other ones Bruce liked a lot that turned out to be horrible, he broked it off. Tim had seen how it had made him upset and he really hated doing that to him. Maybe he could deal with it for once.Â
So when Bruce left for a business trip, Tim was Expecting the worst. What he didnât expect was for you to knock on his door and ask if you could join him. When he agreed and stepped back so you could come in. He expected you to go to his bed or his desk chair not, the oversized bean bag on the floor.
âI have a question for you but you canât tell Bruce yet.â Here it comes. âWhat would a funny way to tell him I know heâs Batman?â Tim wasnât expecting that one. âI was thinking a lot of batpuns but his paranoia is too bad for that.â
âHow did you figure it out?â You walked him through your process and didnât say anything as he wrote parts of it down. Once you finished explaining the process for Bruce, you explained any way it was modified in figuring out their identities.
âWho do you think I am?â
âRed Robin.â Tim found himself getting excited.Â
âYou know those notes you leave him in his office?â You nodded. âYou should leave those in the Batcave.â You considered it but your thinking was interrupted but Tim shouting.Â
âNo! One night when weâre all in the cave, you could bring some snacks!âÂ
âYou just want snacks when heâs lecturing you donât you?â
âMaybe..â
âAlright, but you have to tell the others so they can tell me what snack they want.â
So Tim slowly and carefully went through all his siblings, letting them know you figured it out, Bruce didnât know, and what the plan is. Every time he relayed a snack to you heâd watch how carefully youâd write it out to make sure you had it correct or look up recipes if you couldnât find it in stores.Â
Two weeks later, Tim was the one who sent the signal in the middle of a lecture everyone was receiving and he got a front row seat to see Bruceâs face when you walked in and handed out snacks before giving him a kiss and telling him to be nice and leaving.Â
Any other worries were left in the dust when you helped him win the nerf war for the best seat in the home theater. He thoroughly enjoyed his spot next to you while Bruce swore revenge from the other side of the room.
Damian treated you politely but that was it. His mother was still alive and he didnât want another one, one was more than enough. Not only that, but you were weird.Â
One time when you were over, you found one of his report cards. Immediately you were praising him. He didnât understand why, he had basically failed one of his classes with an A-. You should be disappointed like his mother would be, not hanging it up on the fridge and telling people not to touch it. Definitely not taking him out for ice cream and calling him so smart. He definitely shouldnât be feeling any pride when he walked past it, but he still was.Â
When he was practicing his violin and Messed up, you were supposed to tell him to stop failing, that he should be better. Not smiling at him and telling him heâs making good progress. You should be telling him that he should have memorized that piece in a day. He shouldnât be feeling any pride when he finally does memorize it, it took him 4 days to learn it.
When he was struggling to learn a language, you were supposed to tell him to work harder. He could do better, after all, he already knew so many. Instead you just smiled and recommended a break to refresh his mind.Â
When he snapped at you in Arabic, he expected you to be upset since you didnât know what he said and it was obviously not something nice. Instead you set the rule that if he was going to use Arabic to speak to you when upset, that he had to teach it to you and if what he said wasnât something you had learned yet, he had to tell you in english. When he told you what it meant, you didnât even get upset. He definitely shouldnât be as excited as he was when you actually started learning.Â
So many more little things piled up, leaving Damian confused. The differences between how you and his mother treated him was so big he didnât know how to process it, he liked you and all the little things made him happy in a way he hadnât really felt. But he still loved his mom, When he had enough of it, he asked you to stop. He still wanted to love his mom. Once again, you did something you werenât supposed to.
âOh Damian, Iâm not trying to replace your mom nor am I trying to make you feel like you canât love her or she doesnât love you. Your mom and I show our love in different ways and its ok for you to love or like both of us. You mother loves you and she will always be allowed in your life if thats what you want.â You werenât supposed to do that, but Damian was really glad you did.
Barbara wasnât sure how you would react to her. She wasnât just Bruceâs kid. She had a loving family she went back to every night. Most people werenât really a fan of that, one of Bruceâs past girlfriends had some strong and hurtful things to say about it.Â
When you took her for a day out, she found herself warming up to you but still waiting for the other shoe to drop. One of the new places you had planned to go, didnât have wheelchair access. Like all the other girlfriends who had done this, she expected you to be annoyed that your plans had to change or you would just leave her outside while you shopped.Â
You didnât seem to notice her hesitation, just looking at what was next on your list and starting the trip there. When Barbara stared a little longer at a new movie that was in theaters, tickets and snacks were bought and you listed to all the lore she told you about before it started.
While it had been a nice day, Barbara wasnât convinced. One day was easy to fake. Sure she had lots of fun, but Barbara was used to fakes when it came to Bruceâs girlfriends. Of course she wasnât complaining about you being nice, she just wasnât sure how long it would last.Â
âDid you hear about that boutique?â She looked up from her food to look at her dad. âThat new one that you tried to go to with Bruceâs girlfriend? Well there was a report that it didnât meet the Americans with Disabilities act and the boutique is in trouble. People are speculating theyâll have to close down.â
Later that night, Barbara looked into it. They were in trouble, pretty big trouble from the looks of it. Towards the end of the article she found the name of the person who reported it, she wasnât sure who she was expecting. Not you for sure but the Name Y/n L/n took her by surprise and filled her chest with feelings she couldnât describe.Â
The boutique ended up closing but a new one opened. Once it was open, you were the first to ask her to go. That weird feeling came back when she wheeled herself up the ramp and through the door you held open for her. Later that night, in the privacy of her room. She decided she liked you.Â
Steph seemed like she liked you, she acted like she liked you, she didnât really like you. Sure you were nice, Bruce loved you, the others were warming up to you, but she wasnât sure how to feel about you. So she stuck with not actually liking you but pretending to.Â
So when she was around you, it was all smiles and jokes. She wasnât a big fan of it all but she did it because she knew you were important to Bruce and that was enough of a reason for her. She knew Bruce and the others could see through the act but as long as you couldnât, that was enough.Â
When Bruce announced he had to leave for a business trip right before she could hand him the parents visit for one of her AP classes, something the new teacher liked doing. She tucked the paper away. When Tim gave her a questioning look, she shook her head and later swore him to silence.Â
Every time she heard someone mention their parents were going, she felt a pang of jealousy in her chest. Every time Tim mentioned bringing it up to you, she swore him into silence again. It wouldnât be the first time no one showed up for her. She was however thankful you wouldnât be at the manor as much so she didnât have to pretend to like you.
When the day arrived, Steph was not having a good day. School dragged on slowly. Slower than normal. When school finally ended, she had to sit in the classroom and watch everyone else that was in her class leave and the parents of her classmates show up while no one was there or coming for her.
Someone sat in the seat next to her, she expected another family member of one of her classmates. Definitely not you. She couldnât return your smile, too unsure of how you found out, the fact you actually showed up, and how she felt about you being there. You leaned a little closer so that the others in the room wouldnât easily overhear.Â
âI know Iâm not your parent and someone you just pretend to like so if you want me to leave I will. But I figured someone was better then no one. Oh, and Tim wanted me to tell you he didnât spill. Your teacher called the manor because no one had RSVPed for you and I answered it.â
That night, as Steph showed off all her hard work to you, the charade fell. She actually enjoyed her time with you and the boost of pride as you oohed and ahhed over all her projects and listened to her explain all the little details. That night, Steph realized, she didnât need to keep pretending. She liked you, until she found out you didnât like her favorite show but a nerf war solved that.Â
Cass could tell you were different then the other girlfriends, your body language as you interacted with all of them showed it. However that didnât mean she knew how to interact with you.
She had learned that she was fairly hard for new people to interact with. She also knew she had trouble interacting with people she wasnât fighting. So it wasnât a surprise when it started rocky.Â
What was a surprise, was when you found out she was still having trouble reading and writing, you stepped in to help. Well, that wasnât the surprising part, a lot of girlfriends did that. The surprising part was the amount of patience you had when it was only the two of you.Â
When one method didnât help, you tried another. Never once did you snap at her or call her a name. Everytime you got frustrated you would stop and look at her, say something along the lines of âIf I had as much trouble with this as you do, I wouldnât want to keep trying. You're doing absolutely amazing! Iâll keep looking for other ideas, but for now, lets take a break and get a treat.âÂ
Cass wasnât sure why that always made her feel better, but it did. Every treat you brought was something you made just for the tutoring sessions and it always reminded her of what Alfred had told her once. âSomething made with love for you will always taste better.â
And when a method that made it a little easier to learn was found, Cass found herself smiling along with your cheers. Bad days where she couldnât seem to make any progress were always met with the same excitement, cheers, patience, and treats that all the others were.Â
Cass still wasnât sure of what to think of you exactly, but she knew she liked you and that you cared about her.
So when Tim saw the new rise in hate, a sibling meeting was called. They all went through each site, blood boiling as they saw what people were saying about their new parent. Plans were made, declarations of war were ready, and anger fueled all of them. Bruce could tell something was going on, but he wasnât sure what it was and as long as it didnât get out of had, he wasnât sure if he had the energy to deal with it.Â
War was declared in an interview by Steph. The lady was asking questions when the topic switched to Bruce, then you. The reporter was clearly trying to subtly find some dirt on you and Steph was not going to stand for it.
âOh yeah! Y/n! Sheâs the best!â She put on her best press face. Trying to hide her anger over the hidden intent. She didnât have to lie or act when talking about you but the change in the ladyâs face going to disappointment when she didnât get anything she wanted was making her look very punchable.Â
âSheâs always showing up for us and making sure weâre doing ok. If Y/n and Bruce were to break up, I think most of us would go with Y/n.â The way the lady kept trying to get anything really got on her nerves and Steph decided she needed to get out of there before she started using the ladyâs face for target practice. You wouldnât like that.
Cass was the first one to resort to violence. They had asked a thinly veiled question, basically asking if you were a golddigger. So she punched him in the nose and leaned down to flip the camera off. She hated interviews already but that made it so much worse. She hoped you wouldnât be too upset with her punching the guy though.
Jason, surprisingly enough. Did not get violent⌠physically. He did however curse one out and threaten him when the reporter implied you were forcing them to say nice things. When the reporter kept pressing Jason broke his mic and told him if he ever heard him talking bad about you again, a broken mic would be the last of his worries. Jason knew you would be disappointed but he had held back, he didnât shoot the guy like he wanted.
Tim threw his coffee at one reporter because he heard them say you were nothing but a regular person who didnât deserve any attention. He then took over her segment, threatening the company to air it or he would make sure they went bankrupt. Once he finished his threats, anything he said was praising you name. Telling everyone how amazing you were and how much they all loved you.
Barbara made it a point to bring up everything you did for the community when they tried to throw some shade at you in an interview. She had documents to prove it and hacked their systems to add them into the interview so they couldnât claim it was fake. She also made sure to run over his foot when she left.Â
Dick punched a reporter when they tried to ask him what you were really like behind closed doors. He told them the truth, that you were just as good, kind, patient, and loving behind closed doors as you were out in public. He didnât throw a punch until the reporter disregarded that as asked again because she couldnât be that good. Dick knew a lecture would be coming once you saw, but he would rather sit through a lecture then let anyone tarnish your name.
Damian spent 10 minutes cursing and threatening a reporter in Arabic when they asked him if you had ever hurt him. When he was done, he told them in english, that if he ever got asked that question again, he would impale them. He knew you were going to make him sit down and translate everything and the general response you would give but he didnât care, no one speaks bad about either of his mothers.
Bruce figured out what was going on after Stephâs interview. He saw the ones where they assaulted or threatened the reporters and made sure his lawyers were on standby to keep the kids out of trouble. After all, he had seen more than they had.Â
He had watched as you tried to connect with Dick early on, how you worked hard to try and get somewhere. He had woken up before you when Dick had come in that night and heard how you handled it. He had woken up the next morning to find you holding Dick close, like you were trying to protect him from the nightmares. He had seen how you never turned Dick down when he wanted comfort, no matter how serious or silly the matter, and he had heard your excitement when you told him Dick liked you.
Bruce had seen the way you never missed a visit to Jasonâs grave, on a visit of his own, he saw how much care you showed the stone marking it as his lost son. While he hadnât been sure why it was alway the same time on Tuesday, he didn;t mention it. He felt the way you would sob in his arms after each visit, a year after the tradition started, you always said you had promised not to tell and he watched as you kept that promise even if it tore you to pieces. Once the shock and tears wore off for a little bit, he could see the trust that Jason had in you.
He heard the way you questioned if you should have a key to the manor, you didnât want to make Tim uncomfortable in his own home, or how you questioned if you should visit while he was gone. Not wanting to stress Tim out when there was no reason too. He saw the way you and Tim grinned at each other when you brought snacks down for all the kids he was currently lecturing. He head the excitement in your voice as you told him about the tour Tim had given you of the Batcave and the shared laughter as you and Tim worked together to win the nerf war.
Bruce saw how you worked to give Damian the affection he didnât think he needed. He felt you crying in his arms upset over the fact Damian thought you would be angry because he made a mistake or struggled in a class. He heard you practicing your Arabic as you got ready for bed and he watched as you stress paced over whether or not you said the right thing to him about his mother.Â
He saw how angry you had been when you came back from your day out with Barbara. He had heard your call with your lawyer as you tried to figure out what to do. He saw you going through the laws and making a list to make sure your lawyer didnât miss any. He heard about the movie you didnât particularly care about and the lore you remembered in case of another because you wanted Barbara to have someone she could tell all of her favorite things too.Â
Bruce saw the pictures you had taken from the school night. He heard all the details from you as you praised Stephâs work. He saw the way Steph stopped acting around you and the silly arguments the two of you would get into for fun. He heard the way you would listen to her as she verbally worked out her problems. He saw the way Steph looked for you in a crowd, the way she knew you were there but not where you stood exactly, the thought of you not being there never crossed her.Â
He saw the way you stayed up late, researching different ways to teach reading and writing. He heard the patience and kindness and you worked with Cass. He saw the way you always made a treat just for Cass to have after each lesson because you wanted to reward her hard work. He heard the way you cried for Cass when she had a bad day and got frustrated with herself because you knew she was smart and you wanted her to see it too. He heard your celebrations when Cass made any progress, no matter the size.Â
Bruce heard, saw, and felt the way you worked hard to have a relationship with his kids. How you had mourned for their losses, celebrated their wins, and felt their pain. He saw the way his kids blossomed under your care, growing to be better and more confident in themselves. The way you cared for them as if they were your own flesh and blood. So when he was asked about his kids behavior, he said as much.Â
âY/n has worked hard to be accepted by them. Sheâs given so much of her time, effort, patience, and love and never wanted anything in return. She always shows up for them, no matter what the occasion is, big or small, it doesnât matter. If they want her there, sheâll be there. Everytime they need or want her, sheâs there. She never judges them and treats them as if they were her own blood. Of course their upset and lashing out, people are insulting the woman who has cared for them more then most of their biological mothers.â
Later, a clip of you scolding Bruce and all the kids went viral. While you were scolding them over their behavior and making the kids who had reacted with violence or threats write apology letters because asking mean questions does not make it right to respond badly especially when its someone just trying to start drama. Everyone one noticed that there was no actual bite to your tone and no anger when they all refused to stop acting like that. In fact, there was a small soft smile on your face as you shook your head at your family.

Can I request something spicy for YanBatman with his Ex-WifeReader? đŤ¨
TW: Semi-NSFW, implied breeding kink, mention/implied cockwarming
(I sincerely hope you like it! It feels like forever since Iâve written something like this, let alone something spicy.)
Entrapment
A talk. Thatâs all this meeting was suppose to be. Just a simple and civil discussion about the upcoming court proceedings regarding the divorce and what would be happening afterwards regarding your relationship with the family (especially Damian), nothing more. So, how did it end up like this? How could it have possibly strayed so far off track?
~~~~
You werenât too surprised when you got a call from Bruce. He often went between nonstop blowing up your phone to not reaching out to you for days at a time, you were getting more and more used to it by now. You of course didnât answer it, your lawyer had advised you not to after your telling them of how Bruce was throughout your entire relationship with him. His tendencies and the way he behaved when it came to you. Your lawyer wasnât exactly completely believing of it, and that was pretty understandable given some of the things you had divulged to them (if you hadnât lived and dealt with it yourself you would have had a hard time believing it too) but they decided it was better to be safe than sorry and advised you to not interact with Bruce outside of them. And so you hadnât and you didnât plan to either. That was until you listened to the voicemail that he had left behind.
He had an offer. He wanted to meet in person and discuss this whole situation, one on one. He wanted to come to an equal agreement outside of having to go to court. And as much as you hated it it sounded like it might be the better option. There was no pretending that this divorce would go in your favor, there were just too many things going against you. Bruce had the money, he had the means to get the best damn lawyer in Gotham and fight this to the very end. Not to mention that this divorce would be very public in general given just who it involved. And he could very easily get the media on his side, tarnishing your image as a whole. Not that you cared too much for that, you had planned to leave Gotham behind anyway after the divorce was final but the thing that got you the most was the rest of the family.
You adored Alfred. Not only was he simply one hell of a butler but he had been so good to you throughout your marriage to Bruce. Even though you two hadnât been married that long, Alfred was still very much a support to you and what you went through. He didnât completely agree with what Bruce did or how he went about things, you were your own person and he tried to remind Bruce of that on many occasions, but there was only so much he could do. And it wasnât just Alfred you cared about, you also loved all of Bruceâs kids. Once you married Bruce they didnât just become your family, they were your babies too. And you still wanted to have them in your life and you knew Bruce would hold them over your head no matter which way this divorce went.
Sure, the rest of the family had been involved to some extent with what Bruce was doing in your relationship, especially when it came to keeping you isolated and cooped up in the manor. But as far as you saw it that was all due to Bruceâs influence, you couldnât bring yourself to actually believe that they would willingly go along with it of their own accord. Or that they even gave Bruce ideas to begin with to keep you by his side and with them as a result. You just couldnât possibly think of them like that, you just couldnât. So, it of course scared you at the thought of being completely cut off from the people you had opened your heart to. You still wanted to be there for them, still be a part of their life but just at a safe armâs length away instead of how it was before.
The more you thought about it, mulling it over and over again in your head, this offer was sounding like the more beneficial thing to do. You did still have love for Bruce of course, you just didnât want to be in that kind of situation again and you knew the only way to prevent that and keep yourself safe was to step away from him and any form of romantic relationship with him.
~~~~
The day was finally here for the two of you to meet and you couldnât help the anxiety that washed over you. You never truly knew what Bruce would do, what he was really thinking in the moment. He was unpredictable like that. He could come off oh so charming and inviting, it was scary how easy he could lure you into his trap. And you knew better than anyone what it was like to be caught in that snare. That was what your whole marriage had been with him after all, just one big entrapment.
Even when you were briefly on the phone with him to set up this meeting you couldnât contain the tremor of nerves you had just hearing his voice again. You really did miss it, you missed him. But this needed to be done. For the both of you. At least thatâs what you kept telling yourself.
Seeing him face to face again was something else. He looked good, he looked like he was taking care of himself again. That was a far cry from how he was the first few months after you left. He was a mess and it showed. That alone almost had you going back to him just so heâd be alright but you knew what came with him being back to himself and you couldnât put yourself in that position again. You just had to remind yourself that this was it and it would soon be over for good.
Bruce greets you with open arms, youâre not quick enough to back out of his reach before heâs already enveloped you in his hold. Heâs warm, heâs always been so warm. And his hold is tight, longing but not as suffocating as it used to be. And just as youâre beginning to feel yourself unconsciously fall into his warmth just like you used to so many times before, welcoming his touch again, he pulls away. For a split second you want to reach out to him and feel his touch all over again but you remind yourself that this isnât what this is anymore. It canât be.
Once the two of you are settled you start off talking small talk and everything seems good, everything seems okay. Bruce asks how youâve been, if youâre doing alright with everything thatâs been going on. He seems caring. He seems like he genuinely wants to know how this has affected you but you remind yourself yet again that this isnât what you think it is. He then moves on to talking about the family and how they have been holding up through out this process, everyoneâs taking it hard. Dealing with it in their own way but it seems Damian is the one who is taking it the hardest. Thatâs what you had feared. You worried about how Damian was taking all of this, how he was being effected by it. He was such a guarded kid, so closed off. You felt terrible having to put him through this, as well as the others but itâs what needed to be done. Right?
It isnât until you try to bring up the original topic of discussion, the entire reason for this meeting in the first place, that you see how this wasnât remotely the meaning of this meeting. You barely caught sight of Bruceâs jaw clenching when the words left your mouth, that was enough insight for you to know that this wasnât at all what it was meant to be.
Itâs obvious that itâs the last thing he wants to do, you can tell. Heâd rather talk about anything else other than that. Itâs one thing to ask how youâve been regarding it or talking about how the rest of the familyâs been taking it in but he doesnât want to actually get into it. Heâs avoiding it, of course he is. You canât blame him but this needs to be over with.
âBruce.â He tenses. It feels like itâs been forever since you said his name, heâs missed hearing it from you. He wants to hear it over and over again, like a mantra. God, the way it hit him when thatâs all you could say as he thrusted so deep into you, just his name rolling off your tongue repeatedly. Fuck he missed it. He missed you.
âRemember, weâre meeting here for a reason. I donât want to take up much more time than we need to. So, could we get to it?â Business. Thatâs all this was. Bruce hated it. Of all things, this is what brought you out of hiding? This is what opened you up to seeing him once more?
No.
He wouldnât take that as an excuse.
He just wouldnât.
âYouâre right, (Name). Letâs get to business.â
~~~~
Without a doubt in your mind this was his intention all along. Of course it was. How could you see it any other way?
Bruce was calculating. He proved that more than once since you have known him.
It showed I n how he talked, the words he said dripping off his lips one after another, the sweet nothings he filled your head with.
In how he touched you; the placement of his hands, the way his fingers brushed you, the methodic way they curled deep inside your warmth.
But more importantly he was the most calculated when it came to fucking you. He knew you better than yourself, he spent your whole entire relationship learning and memorizing your body. What you wanted, what you needed. What exactly drove you to the deepest depths of pleasure. He knew it all. And he certainly knew how to use it to his advantage.
Each thrust, deeper than the last, was all so cunningly planned out. The way he grounded his hips into yours, the way he clutched you so close, melding himself into you, opening you up even more to take him completely. Every single move was so irrevocably mapped out.
~~~~
Your warmth. Oh, how much heâs missed it. How much heâs fucking craved feeling it wrapped around, enveloping him whole again, only for him to feel. You have no idea how many times heâs touched his throbbing cock to the thought of it, to the thought of having you sprawled out under him again. You have no fucking idea.
Once he has you right where he wants you, completely lost in the ecstasy of it all, he allows himself to finally give in to his own blinding pleasure.
No more calculating.
No more cunning.
No more being methodic.
No more.
Now it was all solely his mindless self indulgence. His once slow, deep thrusts turned into rapid, savage pounding. His kisses were more aggressive, sloppy. His touch was burning hotter than ever as he gripped and grabbed every piece of you he could.
At this point, Bruce let himself get lost in it. He let himself fall into the deepest, darkest pits of his desires. All he wanted now was to chase that feeling heâs been left without for so long, over and over again.
One after another, he released everything he had deep inside you. Again, and again, and again. All of this; all of his pent up anger, hurt, passion, everything he had bottled up inside throughout this whole shitshow of a situation, he was free to let it all go.
After the haze finally let up, Bruce was left basking in the aftermath. He couldnât have felt better than ever before. He had you again, he had you here in his arms and it wasnât a dream this time. You were the real deal and he couldnât have been happier.
He couldnât help but look at you,, watching you, taking all of you in again just like the many times he used to before. You were a fucking mess after everything and he absolutely loved it. He did that to you, he made you that way. And he took great pride and pleasure in it. He left you so full, both with himself still inside you (he just couldnât bring himself to part with your warmth again) and all his cum. This was how he wanted to stay. This was how he wanted to be.
Placing his large hand on your stomach, he caressed it tenderly. There was no way you wouldnât fall pregnant after this, he had made sure of it with all the times he filled you with his seed. He wanted you pregnant, he wanted you filled to the brim with his baby. He needed to have you tied for life and what better way to ensure that than by bringing a new life into the world together.
You wouldnât be able to get away from him now. This had been yet another way to entrap you, to keep you in his grasp and Bruce wasnât going to leave any room for you to wriggle out of his reach again.
âLetâs start anew, (Name). After all, weâre going to have even more of a reason to work things out now.â

What I think Batfam members listen to to go to sleep
Bruce- Nothing. Any sort of talking, or uneven noises will wake him up in a cold sweat because heâs paranoid like that.
Dick- Sitcoms. Friends is his favourite to fall to sleep too, but his favourite overall show is B99 because it reminds him of his fam.
Jason- nothing usually, but if heâs struggling to sleep audiobooks will knock him out. But only ones heâs read over and over. If itâs a new one he will stay up to find out what happens.
Tim- he wonât sleep until he passes out. You might think thatâs too fanon, but my guy has passed out on a roller coaster in canon. He will fall asleep reviewing security footage tho.
Damian- bro was a nothing kind of person until he fell asleep while watching a movie with Jon during a sleepover. His mind starts racing before bed but putting something on to direct his thoughts helps a whole lot.
Steph and Cass- Steph was obsessed with ASMR and showed it to Cass who liked it a lot too. Steph does like the roleplays while Cass prefers ones without talking.
Duke- podcasts because most of their apps have a built in sleep timer. If he has to turn off the podcasts manually, the light from his phone wakes him up too much.
Idk, kinda stupid lol
