Why does flowey care for Sans’s forgiveness?

Well, he doesn't, not really.

With Sans figuring out the terrible things he's done in past timelines, Flowey feels he'll use this information to guilt-trip or blackmail him, and Flowey doesn't want him to have this advantage over him. So, he reasons that if he can bring Gaster back, he and Sans are even. If Sans tries to hold something over his head or take issue with something he's done, he can counter with the 'favor' of bringing back his old colleague--hence why he says "He (Sans) can't be mad at me ever again!"

That's, uh, not how apologies work, but Flowey's still viewing things as a transactional 'game' he can 'win'. =u=;

Obsessed with Lloyd never mentioning his grandfather is the First Spinjitsu Master, apparently to the point even Arin didn't seem to know, because "eh, it never came up". Cause like, yeah, sure, my grandfather is God, what of it? Normal day for me. Shit happens. My dad is also evil, you wanna talk about that? I sure don't.

It's also funny from a character arc perspective. Here's itty bitty baby first season Lloyd, loudly proclaiming he's the son of Garmadon, and probably also making sure everyone knows he's God part 3 electric boogaloo. And then one Tomorrow's Tea and a few more years later and he's doing everything physically possible to NOT care about his heritage. In fact he'd probably rather his parentage was literally anyone else. Dude could care so less he forgets about it most of the time. King behavior.

ok so my very first time playing the game ever, I got the Stranger for my first princess, bc I hate being told what to do and have strong opinions on ethics and this motherfucker's shady so yeah I trek into the freaking woods screw you not committing murder

But looking back, knowing everything about the Echo and the Long Quiet and the Shifting Mound, this is the absolute funniest thing possible.

Like. Just IMAGINE. Your world is about to end. Your village is dying. Through what I imagine must have been intense and meticulous work, you manage to turn change and permanence themselves into specifically crafted beings so that you can kill an abstract concept with an abstract concept. you dedicate your life to it. hell, you even end your life for it. and then a shard of you sits in wait to instruct your newly born creation on how to save the world.

And then the VERY FIRST THING THAT THIS FUCKING GOD THAT YOU CREATED DOES is to call you emotionally manipulative and lie about knowing where they're going and just generally prove to be an incompetent spiteful idiot and then they just TREK INTO THE WOODS AND AWAY FROM THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES, BECAUSE THEY'RE HAVING A REBELLIOUS PHASE

Re-watching The Mistake and I just noticed that House yells at Chase that "Mistakes are as serious as the results they cause" before Chase's patient, Kayla, dies but then says "Everybody screws up" after Kayla's death.

Chase, on the other hand, hopes so hard things will be okay (and he did try to call her back an hour after she left!) that he characterizes his failure to ask a follow-up question as "a minor mistake" before Kayla's death but then tells House "I killed [the patient]!" after. House and Chase trading places in terms of how they talk about the case really struck me for some reason.

Decided to draw him in my style since I'm still struggling with the show's style, heh. I should probably sit down to do a proper study one of these days. But I'm happy with how this turned out! Still getting the hang of using an iPad (I was gifted one in my art absence on here, so no more phone drawing for me unless I'm posting old stuff).

A thought I had…

What is Joker’s purpose for doing what he does? He’ll go on and on about “getting what he wants”, but what is he actually after? Fun? Chaos?

I don’t think it’s purely any of that, though he does take some pleasure in them. I think what he wants is for Batman to react. To break his moral code, to kill someone. Maybe to become someone akin to himself, even if it takes the Joker *himself* dying to achieve it. He wants to push Batman so far that he breaks.

Take some of Joker’s very first schemes and heists into consideration: he wasn’t having fun. He didn’t care if he succeeded in robbing a bank— didn’t care about the money or the fame much.

Joker is highly intelligent. He can create any device to suit his needs and can manipulate others very well. His ability to predict outcomes is incredible. Of course he’s bored! He doesn’t have something or someone to compete with. Even revealing his face and his name can’t give anyone an advantage against him. Until Batman comes along.

This man, also gadgety, intelligent and into theatrics (c’mon the whole bat-theme is a BIT dramatic), is probably the closest to his level he’s ever met. Obviously he declares Batman his rival.

Later, Joker obsesses over Batman to the point that he makes challenges that ONLY Batman can solve. To test him, see how he fares, and sees how he responds to different things. He wants to see how he works.

He doesn’t really care who Batman is under the cowl, because

1. Because it doesn’t really matter to him. And let’s be honest, he’s probably already figured out that it’s Bruce Wayne. He simply hasn’t revealed Batman’s true identity because it would take away his playmate. Batman is the kind of guy who would willingly go to prison (as long as there weren’t any rabid criminals loose at the moment).

2. He’s more interested in Batman’s mind and his ambitions.

Later in their stories, Joker almost EXCLUSIVELY targets Batman. Even if his schemes seem random or completely unrelated, his endgame is for Batman to confront him. Joker is testing Batman’s morality. Obviously Joker doesn’t care too much about casualties, but he *knows* it affects his rival. In some of Joker’s biggest schemes and crimes, he hurts or kills hundreds of innocents, or a person that is close to Batman himself.

(-SPOILER AHEAD for ‘Batman: Death in the Family’ and ‘Batman: Under the Red Hood’ and the aligning comics-) Skip to the “End of Spoiler” if you need to.

For example, Joker kidnaps Jason (Robin at the time) with an obvious goad for Batman to come after them. He beats Jason BRUTALLY— but not for fun or for his sadism, but to make Batman react. He kills Jason with the explosion, moments from when Batman could’ve saved his Robin. He WANTS Batman to be angry.

Joker wants Batman to be pushed so far that he breaks his moral code— so that he breaks his spirit. And *Joker* wants to be the one to do it.

Through all of his testing, all of his trials, Joker truly thinks of Batman as his *one rival*, the only person who could even compete with him, let alone possibly beat him.

And even if Joker *is* killed in the process, he still wins, in his mind. HE is the one to make Batman fall. HE is the one to break him. He wins.

Anyway. Was writing something and this came to mind. I’ve been a DC fan foreverrrrrr and haven’t had anyone to rant this to that will understand wtf I’m going on about. Happy writing! (Or thinking, if I managed to break your brain. Whoops.)
