Rooftop.
Pairing: Wonwoo x gn!reader
Genre: I honestly don't know but let's just say crack and a pinch of angst
Warnings: Wonwoo thinks reader is about to commit suicide
Synopsis: You were just trying to get a better look at the sky, but someone misunderstood and tried to save you.
You valued your peace of mind and the best way (in your opinion) to clear your mind was to look at the stars. At the edge of a rooftop.
Yeah, not the smartest idea but who cares!
Technically, anyone was bound to see a random person standing at a rooftop, misunderstand the situation, then call for help. Something you didn't exactly take into account.
And bingo as you had guessed, not only did someone see you, someone was at the same rooftop thinking you were about to jump, and you being at the edge didn't exactly help either.
Out of nowhere, you felt yourself being pulled backwards. Your back was now against the chest of a random stranger, and to make matters worse, on top of him.
"Uh, excuse me?" You were baffled and you didn't really know how to explain without him thinking you were lying "Can you let me go, please?"
No answer.
Oh shit. Is he dead? I don't think I'm that heavy though. You were thinking of the endless possibilities of you being charged for involuntary manslaughter. Great.
You finally feel the person who you thought you murdered move. "Are you okay? Why did you pull me like that? You could've been hurt!" You turned around only to be left awestruck. At least he was handsome.
His eyebrows were furrowed and his breathing was heavy, yeah it isn't the time for flirting. "How could you treat your life like it's something to be toyed with! You can't simply choose to end it because things are getting rough." His tone was stern and angry— but wait.
What? Your mind short-circuited for second. He thought you were doing what!
"What about your loved ones and the people who would blame themselves for your death? At least think about all those variables before treating your life like-"
"Excuse me?! I was just standing like a normal person, looking at the damn sky. I wasn't toying with my life, I was enjoying it!" You were starting to get riled up as well, couldn't he at least wait to hear what you had to say about yourself— and wait, what does he even have to do with it?!
"You shouldn't lie about things like this! If you need help, say it."
There's was no convincing this man. "Listen here stranger, if I needed help I would in fact ask for it. But can't a person watch the fucking sky in peace." You huffed "Why are you even making a big deal out of it? It's not like we know each other."
You pushed his hands which were gripping you away. "At least try to understand, I mean it's not the smartest thing to do, to stand at the edge of a rooftop I mean, but I assure I wasn't trying to do anything you were thinking of."
You had an idea! Not the smartest either but good enough "Want to grab a meal?" If he didn't say yes, you'd bury yourself alive, but you wouldn't have to see him again. If he said yes, you'd resolve that misunderstanding and you could go your separate ways.
He suddenly realized that his body was so tense and his body was still on the ground.
You gulped as he proceeded to get up. His features became more clear. His face had a soft expression but his eyes were sharp, so was his jaw. Yeah, you were right, he was one handsome fellow.
He was weirded out by your spontaneous personality. One moment you were all angry, and the next you were asking him to grab dinner? Yeah, not normal.
"Fine. I'll pretend that I believe you, and we'll go grab dinner. But for the love of god go stargaze anywhere but at the edge. I had the ambulance ready." He scratched his neck.
"Okay Mr. Overdramatic." You laughed, it was a peculiar day, not the peaceful kind you usually preferred, but definitely a day to remember.
"Wonwoo."
"Hm?" You tilted your head in confusion.
"If we're going out for a meal, you might as well know my name." He shrugged.
Yeah, he had split personalities, you were sure of it.
"[name]." You extended your hand "It was nice meeting you here— wait what were you doing up here?!" Your eyes widenened.
"I was stargazing."
"Yeah, no shit. I'll pretend that I believe you." You mimicked him from earlier.
Inspired by that one scene in true beauty.

Jordan C Robinson, Ohio inmate A743238, born 1997, incarceration intake April 2018 at age 20, released August 2024 to probation
Involuntary Manslaughter, Aggravated Robbery, Conspiracy to commit Robbery
In March 2018, Jordan Robinson apologized to the mother of Luke Cabbage for his role in the Sept. 11, 2017, shooting death of her son in Newcomerstown, Ohio.
"I'd just like to apologize for any part I had with any of this," Robinson, 20, of Bloomingdale, Ohio, said as he stood facing Kathy Cabbage in the courtroom of Tuscarawas County Common Pleas Judge Edward O'Farrell. "Luke didn't deserve that. No one intended for that to happen."
Robinson was facing charges of aggravated murder, murder, involuntary manslaughter, aggravated robbery, conspiracy and evidence tampering. But in an agreement reached a few days earlier, prosecutors dropped the aggravated murder, murder and evidence tampering charges, and Robinson agreed to plead guilty to involuntary manslaughter, aggravated robbery and conspiracy.
He was sentenced to seven years in prison, but will have the possibility of judicial release after three and a half years. In the end, Robinson served over six years in prison.
He had been scheduled to go on trial in two weeks time.
The judge spoke to Robinson. The judge said, "I know where you're going, and I don't take any pleasure in sending you there." "But again, if there is going to be any semblance of justice, you need to go there for your part in this conduct which resulted in Luke Cabbage's death, a young man who deserved to live and is not."

I've been thinking about the Aaron trial a LOT and kinda fell into a rabbit hole about it and thing is. Aaron is guilty. Like 100% guilty. The prosecution can't prove first degree murder but they don't need to because they can charge him with 2nd degree, aka "murder of passion". It was a charged moment and Aaron responded by killing the dude. Yes he deserved it and yes it's still murder, with considerable jail time.
There are 3 ways for Aaron to get off here (not including Moriyama interference). One, jury nullification. The jury basically decides that yes he did it BUT he shouldn't go to jail for it so we're gonna vote as if we're not convinced he did it. Incredibly rare but legal. Two, Aaron's lawyer successfully argues that Aaron was acting in self defense on Andrew's behalf. They could potentially try to have Drake charged with SA and CSA posthumously, and use the details of that trial as evidence in Aaron's. Three, and this ties into 2, JAG (military legal branch) tells the SC courts they don't want a public trial. From here it becomes internal politics, and might result in a plea deal in exchange for the whole thing getting shoved under the rug.
it seems to me like jury nullification is one of those old laws that don't really hold up in a modern setting, like if you suggested it now, i don't know if they'd actually go forward with it?
the best i've come up with is that he's aquitted for accidental death or self defence and the jury are swayed by andrew, neil and higgins' testimonies, or he's found either guilty or not guilty of involuntary manslaughter. just throwing some random thoughts out into the world. (let's disregard first degree murder.)
voluntary manslaughter in SC can't be given without "heat of passion and sufficient legal provocation" present. "The heat of passion refers to the defendant experiencing some type of uncontrollable emotion, such as rage or terror. The heat of passion does not excuse a homicide, but it does remove malice. Legal provocation refers to circumstances that would cause a reasonable person to lose self-control."
IM NOT A LAWYER but i think it might be hard to prove this - it happened SO quickly that there's not enough evidence beyond reasonable doubt to prove that it was an intentional act of passion with reasonable provocation.
involuntary manslaughter can't be given without "criminal negligence" or essentially a reckless or hazardous disregard for safety etcetc. in SC code of laws it says "criminal negligence is defined as the reckless disregard of the safety of others. A person charged with the crime of involuntary manslaughter may be convicted only upon a showing of criminal negligence as defined in this section."
AGAIN IM NOT A LAWYER but i think there's probably ways to argue that there was no criminal negligence on aarons behalf because it wasn't technically reckless. i think aarons lawyers would argue that it wasn't a homicide at all but was an accident because aarons behaviour wasn't technically reckless (in some ways). regardless even if he was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter there's no minimum sentence for it in SC so it's possible he'd avoid going to jail at all because of his character/how unlikely it is he'll reoffend/his prospects in life/his clean record and all that. he'd have parole terms and probably some community service and a fine or something but i think he'd easily avoid jail time even if he was found guilty.
he could still possibly be aquitted on the question of whether ANY category of murder happened beyond a reasonable doubt. the prosecution would have to prove that aaron intentionally swung the racquet with or without intent to kill. i think there's an argument there for an accidental death - which would definitely make this ask even longer so i won't get into my NOT LAWYER thoughts on how/why.
i'm not saying andrew and neil WOULD commit perjury. but they WERE the only people in the room when it happened, and if they can't say that for certain aaron swung the racquet at drake then there's a doubt there about whether it was homicide or not. nobody is denying the murder occured - but the prosecution HAVE to prove that aaron was WILLFULLY negligent and that led to drake's death. just a thought.
#IM NOT A LAWYER IM JUST SOME GUY#ITS ALL FICTION BAYBEEE#can you tell i've spent MONTHS#if not years thinking about this#about how aaron would be found not guilty#and i have genuinely and seriously considered how they could call it an accident#i swear my search history is full of#south carolina murder laws#south carolina manslaughter vs involuntary manslaughter#south carolina homicide sentencing#wrongful death sc#ask

Georgia School Shooting Suspect Revealed to Have Hidden Weapon in Poster Board
Source: abcnews.go.com
Colt Gray’s Alarming Method of Concealment
In a tragic incident that unfolded on September 4 at Apalachee High School in Georgia, 14-year-old Colt Gray is accused of fatally shooting two students and two teachers while injuring several others. A Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) agent testified in Barrow County court on Wednesday, detailing surveillance footage that revealed Gray’s unsettling tactics as he concealed a long gun within a poster board resembling a school project while boarding the school bus.
The GBI agent recounted that on the morning of the shooting, Colt Gray rode the bus with the weapon hidden from view. After arriving at school, he reportedly left a notebook on his math desk that outlined a plan for the shooting, including estimated casualty counts and sketches of the classroom layout. Gray then proceeded to the restroom, emerging with gloves on and the poster board covering the AR-15-style rifle, which he was allegedly trying to conceal. As he attempted to re-enter his classroom, a classmate spotted him through the door’s window, prompting her to alert the teacher and initiate a lockdown.
Shooting Incidents in Classrooms
Following the lockdown, Colt Gray reportedly entered a nearby classroom, where he began firing indiscriminately. The GBI agent stated that within approximately seven seconds, six or seven individuals were struck by gunfire. After this initial burst of violence, Gray allegedly fled toward the bathrooms, only to reappear moments later, aiming his rifle at a teacher and firing multiple shots. The attack escalated as Gray turned and shot two coaches in the hallway. Tragically, a student exiting a bathroom was shot and killed in the process.
The chaos in the hallways prompted two school resource officers to confront the 14-year-old, ordering him to drop the rifle and surrender. The rapid response from law enforcement was crucial in preventing further tragedy in what has been described as a harrowing episode.
Legal Proceedings and Parental Responsibility
In the aftermath of the shooting, Colt Gray has been charged with multiple counts of murder, while his father, Colin Gray, faces serious charges including four counts of involuntary manslaughter, two counts of second-degree murder, and eight counts of cruelty to children. The GBI contends that Colin Gray knowingly allowed his son to possess the weapon used in the tragic incident, raising significant questions about parental responsibility and oversight regarding firearm access.
As investigations continue, the community grapples with the devastating impact of this shooting, raising awareness about the urgent need for discussions around gun safety and mental health support in schools. The hearings are set to explore the full circumstances surrounding the incident and the accountability of those involved, both directly and indirectly.

This situation has really shown who truly advocates for mental health versus people that use it as a cutesy throwaway word.
People preach mental health until someone actually displays symptoms and behaviors of mental illness, then they demonize them for not being the "right" kind of mentally ill that consists of drinking monster and being cute and quirky.
Mental health has ugly and unhealthy parts too. Yes, that includes abusive behaviors. The people that display those parts still need and deserve help to become better.
Death threats and harassment only discourage that change and growth.
Men's mental health is also extremely looked over!!
I do not support the actions of Wilbur Soot or the pain he has caused for so many people, but I can hope that he becomes better so that it doesn't happen again.
-signing off as a victim, and a social worker, who struggles with mental illness
PS- It is ILLEGAL to send death threats to someone. Your DIGITAL FOOTPRINT can have you charged for involuntary manslaughter if the person you have sent a death threat to actually commits!
yess!! great words, thank you! (I also want to mention that i DO NOT support death threats, not to Shelby nor Wilbur nor their supporters or neutrals!!!)

This is my wife’s childhood friend, Talia Petoia.
On the night of March 10, 2023, Talia was shot in the chest by her abusive boyfriend, Tyler Laughter, who claims the incident happened while he was cleaning his gun. Talia was rushed to the hospital, but the doctors couldn’t save her; she died that night.
One week later, before the autopsy was even completed, Tyler was charged - with involuntary manslaughter. He was put in jail on a $20k bond, only 10% of which needed to be paid to bail him out. He was free within hours, having not spent a single night in jail.
There’s been very little media about this case, despite the best efforts of Talia’s friends and family. In fact, when Talia’s mother contacted a reporter at a local news station several days after the shooting to ask why there had been no coverage yet, she was informed that the station had reached out to the sheriff’s office about Talia’s death only to be told that it was an accident and that there was “nothing to report.”
We’ve been calling the DA to encourage him to escalate this case to the SBI, given the seeming lack of care given to it by local authorities and the fact that the chief deputy is related to the shooter, but so far, no progress has been made.
There’s a lot of other fucked up shit going on with this case - more than I can type in one post - but suffice to say that Tyler Laughter is a dangerous man. Talia was not the first woman he abused - more have come forward in the last few weeks - and I’m afraid that that she won’t be that last.
Ways to help, for those who are interested:
Talia’s family started a fundraiser to higher private investigators and cover legal fees. Any leftover after meeting those goals will go to a scholarship in her name.
Contact the DA. Voicemails left after hours and emails are good too, if you don’t want to actually talk.
Even just reblogging this post and/or interacting with the other social media pages and hashtags we’ve created for this helps. We’re still asking the authorities to do the right thing and give this case the attention it deserves, but if they won’t do what we ask, we want to embarrass them into acting. Make this case such a big deal and so widely known that they are shamed into doing their jobs.
Linktree with the fundraiser, contact info/scripts for the DA, and other social media HERE.

cps literally kills children. I’m not even joking. The amount of times divorced parents have called cps, begging for them to rescue their child from the other parent, only to be ignored until the child is dead is staggering.
CPS workers who fail on cases like this need to start being charged with involuntary manslaughter and failure to protect a child. CPS and the foster care system needs to be heavily cracked down on for how lazy and incompetent they are. Foster parents should be having VERY frequent welfare checks to make sure they are not abusing their kids or allowing their kids to abuse their housemates. There needs to be more empathy training. There needs to be more social workers so that they aren’t so thinly spread out. There needs to be a crack down on the racism and classism that CPS frequently displays by leaving rich abused kids for dead and kidnapping poor loved kids from their families who just needed financial help.
My little brother’s abusers were allowed by his foster home to frequently visit, beat him, and give him drugs before 18. They also allowed the other kids in the home to bully him and steal his toys and video games. Now he is a monster who uses extreme violence to terrorize people into giving him what he wants. My first crush had to watch from their window as CPS drove away and left them in a crack house with their absolutely disgustingly evil parents. Now they are still haunted by the sight of those CPS workers leaving to this day. And I cannot express in words how fucking SICK I am of seeing news story after news story about children dying due to CPS ignoring their cries for help.
And you know what pisses me off the most? No politician cares about this. This is a real, actual international health crisis, and not one person in power fucking gives enough of a shit to say anything about it. Not even the “good” politicians seem to pay any mind to how bad CPS is at protecting humanity’s most precious asset. They don’t seem to care about future generations being traumatized. They don’t seem to care about how these kids will be able to heal. They don’t seem to care no matter how many times children are failed by the system.

A New Mexico judge on Friday heard Alec Baldwin's requests to have charges dropped against him for the shooting death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, as the actor tries to avoid an unprecedented Hollywood manslaughter trial for an on-set death.
Baldwin's lawyers had filed motions to dismiss his indictment, alleging prosecutorial misconduct, failure to show the actor committed a crime and destruction of evidence during testing of the gun Baldwin used in 2021 during a rehearsal on the New Mexico set of 'Rust.'
"We need the court to move in and check this abuse of power," Baldwin attorney Alex Spiro said during a virtual court hearing before Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer, who will preside over Baldwin's case should it reach a trial scheduled to start July 10.
Sommer was expected to rule on Baldwin's request later Friday.
Hutchins was shot with a live round after Baldwin pointed the gun at her as she set up a camera. The "30 Rock" actor maintains he did not pull the trigger, an assertion that had become central to the case.
Sommer sentenced "Rust" armorer Hannah Gutierrez to 18 months prison in April after a Santa Fe jury found her guilty of involuntary manslaughter for loading the live round into the reproduction Colt Single Action Army revolver Baldwin was rehearsing with.
Hutchins died in the first on-set fatal shooting with a live round mistaken for a dummy or blank round since Hollywood's silent era, according to historian Alan Rode.
Hollywood on-set shootings have in the past been settled through civil lawsuits, such as the last fatality in 1993 when Brandon Lee was killed when a blank round dislodged a bullet stuck in a revolver's barrel during filming of "The Crow," according to UCLA film historian Jonathan Kuntz.

SAMUEL KANE
Full Name: Samuel Kane
Nicknames: Sam, Sammy
Pronouns and Gender: He/Him, Cis Male
Age and Birthday: 36 years old, July 14th
Birth place: Unknown, grew up in foster care in Charleston, SC
Sexuality: Homoromantic Homosexual
Occupation: Arborist at the Botanical Gardens
Residence: Ocean Crest Apartments
Time in Aurora Bay: 4 years
Face claim: Dev Patel
tw violence, weapons, drugs, foster care, mild mention of grooming, homelessness, substance abuse, involuntary manslaughter, homophobia, mental health issues, incarceration, relapse
HISTORY —
Samuel was a foster kid, never landed in an actual family and bounced around, diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, in suit depression, and dysgraphia. He had ended up in a group home from ages seventeen to nineteen when he befriended an older man.
He and that man both found a shoebox apartment together, and Sam slept on the sofa for two years, got involved in drug dealings, learned how to grow marijuana and mushrooms from his roommate.
It was a lucrative business, it kept him with a roof over his head, and it gave him money to afford health insurance to buy his prescriptions. He also briefly sparked a romance with his older roommate, feelings one-sided on Sam’s end, until he’d told Sam he was bringing a girlfriend to live with them.
He didn’t like her due to jealousy issues, but he was cordial. It never clicked that intimacy was something Sam was used for by the older man taking advantage of him needing a roof over his head.
At twenty-two he’d unknowingly been driving a car with marijuana in the glove box when he was pulled over, and his friend and friend’s girlfriend were able to take off undetected. Samuel took the fall and was locked up overnight and faced a sentence of a misdemeanor and served thirty days in jail.
His roommate did nothing to help or put money on his books at that time despite Sam not snitching on him, so their relationship was strained when he got out and had to hitchhike home.
The resentment grew and made the living situation tense, and it took about six weeks and Sam laced a small stash of personal weed with fentanyl. The girl overdosed and passed away, but Sam packed his things and left Scott-free. If asked today about it, he can say he knows it happened, but the memory is a blur. His present remorse for the action was completely nonexistent when it happened.
Sam was back to trying to find an apartment to live in. He found another means to grow and produce under the roof of an older woman who offered him a room for his assistance.
Around twenty five years old he started sampling the product, per se, and developed his own streak of addictive tendencies on and off for the next two years especially when he couldn’t afford his medications. Once belongings around the house went missing he was kicked out again with nothing but his backpack and the clothes on his body.
Once again he sofa-surfed, but he never had a permanent roof over his head. At twenty-six it was a particularly cold night in South Carolina. He broke into a convenience store for money and food using a crowbar to smash the windows and break down the metal gated barrier.
Little did he know that the owner lived in the apartment above the store and came down in a panic, and Sam, startled, swung the crowbar in his hands and cracked it to the older woman’s head.
Before heading down she flipped an alarm so Sam couldn’t escape by the time authorities arrived. She suffered blunt force trauma that resulted in a fractured skull.
Sam was charged with assault to the first degree and breaking and entering, sentenced to five years in prison after proving that the assault had not been a planned attack. He was also sentenced to drug rehabilitation while incarcerated, that he agreed to.
Sam got on well and ducked his head save for one poor run in with another inmate that led him to being beaten in the showers as a result of being queer. The trauma left him with partial hearing loss in his left ear. On a positive note, he did take advantage of the education system in there for botany.
Sam was released a year early after his case was appealed, and he proved his sobriety for the duration of his incarceration. He had to complete a year of probation. It was shortly after he did that he nearly had a relapse, and Sam sought out rehabilitation once more to keep on the straight and narrow. It took a few months, but once done he hopped to the West Coast.
Far from Charleston, far from his past.
He landed in Aurora Bay four years ago, his first job was at the flower shop. While he worked there, he continued online studies off of his associate's degree. Sam made a job change to an arborist at the botanical gardens after he earned his bachelors. The switch was made earlier this year.
Unfortunately, it wasn't smooth sailing and Sam hit a hiccup in the road, falling into a depression and relapsing. The habit made it impossible for him to maintain his work schedule, and within the week Sam took a leave of absence from work and put himself into a rehab in Laguna Beach.
He returned as of middle of December, and is getting back into the swing of things.
TRAITS.
+ Peaceful, humble.
+/- Intuitive, benevolent.
- Rueful, unpredictable.
HEADCANONS.
⊹ Sam's name was given to him by the orphanage, being it was in the bible belt, his first name is considered biblical. Samuel - Name of God. Kane was given as his surname as it means 'little battler', and he'd been found after a chill overnight that should have left him ill at the very least.
⊹ He is a vegetarian.
⊹ Despite his sobriety he has allowed himself a one drink limit of beer or wine when he is out with friends, and will switch to non-alcoholic. No hard liquor, however.
⊹ He has made conscious efforts for environmental services in Aurora Bay, from picking up trash on the beaches to advocating for accessible recycling locations to try and keep things green. He even composts some of his own food at home for his very small balcony garden.
⊹ Sam has two lovebirds named Honey Dew and Agave. They are his life.
⊹ tba.
CONNECTIONS.
Sam is a friendly guy, especially after battling drug addiction he finds that trying to remain upbeat and talking to new people is a great way to keep himself occupied. He is a bit more standoffish now following his release from rehab. Suggestions for connections include any past ex-friends, exes, people he is on good terms with, anyone who is in N.A. with him, beach clean-up partners, any plant enthusiasts who visit the botanical gardens.

This struck me in the middle of the night. Here's how I imagine how Kira changed everyday life:
Life Under Kira (beyond the Task Force) (part 1):
Traveling becomes safer.
There's a trend of posting headshots and the full name of people who wronged you, hoping Kira will finish them off. Or they threaten to. "Leave me alone or I'll leave you to Kira!"
I can see this being used in court for conspiracy charges. It's similar to hiring an assassin, except, well, this is Kira. He may kill, He may not, but you're still throwing the supposed victim under the bus.
Majority of people who do this would be victims of bullying, harassment, and assault, as it's a safer and surer alternative to going to the authorities.
In fact, the majority of Kira's supporters are victims/loved ones of victims who're seeking vengeance from the criminals who victimized them.
Especially for children. There'd be hundreds of letters and prayers whispered to Kira begging him for help. Some online in chat groups, some at a secret shrine. In fact, there's a whole network for abused groups to pray for Kira.
Crime doesn't stop publicly. For example, bullying. It's not wise to bully a kid in public anymore because the bullied (or friends of the bullied) could expose the bully online. However, there are still roundabout ways, such as cyberbullying, anonymous notes, defamation of property. I think that's honestly scarier because it could be anyone, and even if you knew who it was, it's harder to prove it. Idk how security cameras were in the 2000s
Because of this, masks and sunglasses are counterculture fashion accessories for Anti-Kira groups. However, there's a stigma because if you're an innocent, why do you feel the need to hide your face?
The thing is, Kira is often said to kill criminals that commit felony charges, but in reality He kills anyone registered under federal law. That not only includes the worst of the worst like felony criminals (rapists, kidnappers, murderers, terrorists, etc.) but also those that commit minor crimes, like theft or involuntary manslaughter. Because of this, Kira's a hero for the upper-middle/middle/working class (a class Light fits in). For those that kill, rob, and steal to survive, Kira's in the same regard to them as they regard authorities--fuxking useless. Kira's not paying the bills nor is he giving them housing. The rich and government officials would likely be anxious about Kira and want him down, some just for order, others so they don't get caught in whatever crime they're doing.
#death note#kira#worldbuilding#like damn#i suck at writing but at least i can brainstorm#kinda#seriously though how did daily life change around Kira?#we only get a brief comment from Matsuda about how life has improved but how???

Damn Alec Baldwin got hit with the involuntary manslaughter charges I'm sure he will get like 100 hours of community service. Tragic bc if he knew how to properly assess the firearm he shot with he wouldn't have even used it. Even if you're on a fictional show and you use prop guns, you still need to check them to confirm they're A. Unloaded and B. Safety is on like wtf it's irresponsible to hold a nerf gun to someone's face why would you trust a real one? It's a sad thing but he's kind of getting off easy imo

I’ve seen there’s been people detained over Liam’s death- I’m so glad! I’m confused over what the theory is as to why anyone would want Liam not to be around anymore. Do you have thoughts?
Hi, anon!
I saw. Without having much information (from a trusted source, verified and credible), based on what i've learned, i think the investigators are investigating three things; trying to track the drug dealers to stop the flow of drugs and arrest them for dealing, and possibly charge them if the drugs were dirty and indirectly killed him. Secondly, investigate if someone abandoned him in a helpless state without aiding him. Thirdly, they're trying to determine if his death was intentional or accidental. I think murder is ruled out. Involuntary manslaughter might be a possible charge for the people who is being investigated.
I've seen the fandom speculation and conspiracy theories surrounding all this, and i think they're all unfounded. Some people are adamantly claiming Liam didn’t do drugs and that this was a set up. That's untrue, Liam did do drugs, and they're in denial. Some people point out inconsistencies in witness testimonies. That's just normal and expected. Things get lost in translation as well. I also see a lot of anger at Roger. I think a lot of that can be explained by fandom not knowing who Roger is and why he was hanging out with Liam. His role is unclear, he hasn't made a statement and he's under investigation. He'll either clear his name or he'll be charged. We, as a fandom, know too little to judge him.
In regards to someone wanting him dead, I think there is a lot of anger at people around Liam who didn’t perform their duty of care, took advantage of him and made false or uncontested accusations about him. I think fans want to clear Liam's name and they need a scapegoat, because it's too incomprehensible to them that this was an accident after a series of unfortunate events.
Half of the theories out there are made by people who are angry, who need a scapegoat and are in denial. The other half are made by people with bad information. Let the investigators investigate. Trust them to do their job. Nothing will bring Liam back regardless. He's gone. It's not fair, but life isn't fair. If people have committed crimes, we can only hope they'll be brought to justice.

Gregory Bruington Jr., a 30-year-old service member, was tragically killed while changing a tire in Fairfax County on March 10. He was driving back from a friend's birthday party with his girlfriend, Hailey Fraizer, when they stopped on the shoulder of I-495. Another driver struck them, causing Gregory to die on the scene and leaving Hailey with serious injuries. The couple met in the Army National Guard and had been together for two years, planning a future together. The news of Gregory's death came as a shock to his mother, Kesha Bruington, who was devastated by the loss of her son and concerned for Hailey's wellbeing. Hailey suffered a broken neck and fractured back in the accident and had to be extricated from the car. Despite her injuries, she plans to attend Gregory's funeral. The driver responsible, Carlos Nunez Morales, was charged with DUI, involuntary manslaughter, and driving with a suspended or revoked license. In response to his son's tragic death, Gregory Bruington Sr. plans to start a foundation in his name to educate people on the dangers of drunk driving and the real-life consequences it can have. He emphasized the importance of being safe behind the wheel and the devastating impact that reckless driving can have on innocent lives. Hailey's friends have set up a GoFundMe page to support her as she recovers from her injuries sustained in the accident. Gregory and Hailey's relationship was based on love and dedication to each other, as they served together in the Army National Guard and shared dreams of a future together. Their families are grieving the loss of Gregory and are focused on supporting Hailey through her recovery and healing process. The tragic accident serves as a reminder of the importance of responsible driving and the need for heightened awareness of the dangers of impaired driving on the roads. As the community mourns the loss of Gregory Bruington Jr., his family and loved ones are determined to honor his memory by advocating for safer driving practices and raising awareness about the devastating impacts of drunk driving. Hailey's resilience in the face of tragedy, coupled with the outpouring of support from friends and well-wishers, serves as a testament to the strength and unity of those affected by this senseless tragedy. Through education, advocacy, and support, they hope to prevent similar incidents and ensure that Gregory's legacy lives on by making a positive impact in the fight against impaired driving.

Mayor Adams, who has said that Monday’s fatal stabbing spree was a failure of government, said Tuesday he wants to expand involuntary hospitalization policies to make it easier for cops and outreach workers to get mentally ill people off the streets.
Following a bloody stabbing spree that left three dead Monday, the mayor made a push for legislation that would broaden the grounds for involuntary removal at his weekly press briefing on Tuesday.
“We do need Albany to pass a supportive intervention act. It clearly clarifies the standards for holding a person for care in a hospital, because clarity allows people not to feel reluctant to make the decision,” the mayor said. “And that clarity is not there.”
The bill, the Supportive Intervention Act, was introduced in 2023 but never passed committee. It would broaden the grounds for involuntary hospitalization.
Adams also advocated for the bill after the death of Jordan Neely in May 2023. Daniel Penny, who put Neely in a chokehold, is currently on trial for manslaughter.
Suspect Ramon Rivera was charged with three counts of murder for the deaths of three victims on Tuesday. He was held without bail.
Rivera, 51, is a repeat offender who has been in and out of jail for decades in Florida, Ohio, and New York and arrested twice in New Jersey. He’s been in New York City for only around a year — but has been arrested multiple times and hospitalized at least twice, officials previously told the Daily News.
Speaking from City Hall, Adams acknowledged other issues like a psychiatric bed shortage contribute to the city’s mental health crisis. He said that he was willing to “confront” the issue by getting people care, “even if it means involuntary removals.”
“The system has been failing for a long time,” the mayor said. “Administration after administration, I can recall stories and reading about people with severe mental health illness harming themselves and harming others.”
The Adams administration rolled out the directive for NYPD offices and outreach teams to take in and hospitalize individuals appearing to be a danger to themselves or others in November 2022.
Since its inception, the policy has been very controversial among advocates and some elected officials.
Later on Tuesday, state Sen. Brad Hoylman-Sigal and Assemblyman-elect Micah Lasher, announced new proposed legislation called the H.E.L.P. Act, which would give nurses, psychologists and clinical social workers the authority to perform clinical evaluations of a person’s need for involuntary hospitalization.
“Yesterday’s stabbings were just the latest devastating example of the need to reform New York State’s mental hygiene law to address the continued fallout from the closure of thousands of mental health beds across the state over the last several decades, which has caused individuals struggling with mental illness to languish on the streets and in the subways,” Hoylman-Sigal said in a statement.
#nunyas news#this one is so complicated#but some people will only see#lock up the mentally ill#and not consider any nuance#I don't know enough on this one to have a opinion yet
