From EC: Maria taught Nicky some Spanish once he started middle school, but Nicky switched to German his freshman year at Macon High. He was slowly coming to terms with his sexuality, and he needed a safe way to express his confusion and fear. He started keeping his diaries in (broken, misspelled, half-unintelligible) German and passed the pages off as a school project whenever his parents asked.

I keep thinking about Nicky's unintelligible journal from the EC. I think about him coming across it years later, trying to parse together what he was trying to express. He doesn't need to understand the misspelled words and broken sentence fragments when he remembers the fear and confusion and self-loathing exactly. How he would move his fingers over tear-stained pages and the well-worn cover and remember how it got worse before it got better. But, oh, it got so much better.

Hot Take time, guys here me out: Sylus is a complete virgin. No where near being a sex god (yet). (Sylus Myth spoilers btw)

Think about it!! It’s confirmed within the game that Sylus hasn’t ever had another lover (in the Abyssal Chaos trial Final Farewell). No one but his kitten has ever crossed his mind. Okay, you might say, but what about the freaky dragon sex he and MC were having in ye olden medieval times?

They weren’t.

Sylus was very, very determined to draw some kind of line between him and MC. Because he Definitely doesn’t love her, and since he’s Totally and Completely not in love with her, he’s not going to die. Plus, at that time he had grown up in a world was cruel and not conducive towards socializing so he likely didn’t care or think much about sex. And MC was raised in a very conservative society in a religious institution. Adding that to the fact that widespread knowledge like sexual education and pornography likely didn’t exist in Philos at the time, I think it’s safe to assume they were Not doing things.

I would even go so far as to say that they might not have even kissed— that the scene in the Taurus City flower field really was a hallucination or dream of some kind, one that faded to black before their lips ever touched. The Sorceress and the Dragon loved each other, there’s no doubt about that, but I don’t think they ever got around to anything.

And! I really, genuinely believe that Sylus was never intimate with anyone else— nor would he ever be intimate with even MC outside of a committed relationship with her. Sylus said it himself, there is no love purer than his! His intimacy, his vulnerability, his love all matter to him. There’s no fun times (friends with benefits, hatesex, etc etc) before he and MC are holding hands and cuddling.

As for the sex god bit, I don’t think that’s 100% wrong. But mans has never touched a pussy in his life, it’s going to take him a second to figure this out (he will, he’s very skilled with his hands. and his mouth. and his body.). The first time wouldn’t be awkward, because Sylus isn’t awkward, but it would be slow and even a little fumbling, but he would catch on very quickly.
