something ive come to notice now after watching more and more of michael sheen's movies is that his performance as aziraphale is completely unlike any other character he plays. he built that fucker from the ground up. the voice, the mannerisms... very rarely does he even move his face like he does in most of his other roles. there are glimpses of it, but aziraphale is just. SO different. like it's crazy

I LOVE showing The Mole Song to people because it's like, love it or hate it, you can't possibly have a lukewarm reaction to it. I'm thrilled you liked it so much!!! Hong Kong Capriccio definitely has its moments and I'm glad you enjoyed it too; on that note, I haven't seen Final yet, and it doesn't seem to be hardsubbed online, but I was able to find a raw and subs separately. They seem okay from the scene I skipped to twenty minutes in but not positive lol

It really does set the tone early! I love the cutaway gags too The manga has a lot of absurd non-sequiturs and it was a fun way to adapt that to a new medium. As an adaptation as a whole, Undercover Agent Reiji in particular definitely has the tone down and I appreciate that it kept a lot of the Moments I liked.

Hiura had me from the blood oath… one of the guys of all time… despite how I sound from what I just said, I actually didn't even know there was a manga or a sequel when I first watched it, so I was SO relieved he survived the explosion. I was honestly 100% convinced he'd crash the plane at the end though lol, but I guess that ended up happening in Hong Kong Capriccio anyway?

BUT YEAH LIKE THE GUY JUST HAS A HYPERFIXATION AND I HAVE TO RESPECT THAT. Which, you know, in-universe, to have the whole butterfly motif and then dress your man up in florals… I repeat, Reiji was slaying in that dress… I love everyone's costuming in these movies. SPEAKING OF THE AUCTION, the PSP segment onward was insanely RGGcore wasn't it… good god……

It's kind of funny how little Reiji changes--I guess that's how you keep a manga going for like 900 or whatever chapters so far--because he'll pretty much Always have things he needs to figure out. Still very much fun to watch, though!

ALSO the drugs reminded me (I was expecting them to be In The Dogs too lol), shoutout to manga Tsukihara for having the exact same character arc as Mine and ending up an invaluable ally. Also getting to beat up Ryuji Leo (sorry my boy but Mine is overall the stronger combatant to me and I am tired of the Reddit-y discussions on the wiki saying otherwise </3). YEAH THE MOLE SONG MOVIES WERE REALLY FUN thanks again for recommending it to me (I found out it had a manga series the moment I went to look it up, but I haven't read a lick of it. I'd say I'm surprised it's still running but I mean... manga like One Piece have over a thousand chapters at this point, so I shouldn't be too surprised. Maybe I'll give it a read sometime just to check out how the movies and manga compare-and-contrast with each other)!

BIGGEST HONOR I'm glad my blog can entertain a lot of people (and a big part of that is due in part to people writing in and giving me a chance to chat a bit, so of course I always have to thank you and everyone else for sending me asks as frequently as you all do. Jack

so Jack is a Skywing elf mage-in-training because the power set of Sky mages seems to match Jack's powers the closest. They create gusts of wind, storms, can fly, breathe ice breaths, and frost touches. It was a tough choice between that or a Moonshadow elf, what with the whole invisibility thing, but i just can't imagine Jack not being able to fly :/

And even though most Skywing elves dont have wings, i gave him the wings because vibes and because i can

i did add some moon opal charms to his staff though, so he can do some small moon spells

Toothless

i wanted to adjust some of the details to Toothless's design because i didn't want it to be a 1-to-1 of his design in HTTYD. I noticed the dragons in Xadia all have snouts, horns, and muscled forelegs, and i tried to incorporate some of that to Toothless. With a narrower head and longer legs and more hand like claws.

I added more prominent scales, nose plates (like the storm dragons in TDP) and tried to add more horns to spots on his legs and wings.

I also made Toothless a lot bigger than he is in the HTTYD universe because those Xadian dragons?? Excuse me?? Even a common one is still pretty huge!

There's also a dragon that exists in the Dragon Prince universe called a Midnight Dragon, and it's connected to the Moon Arcanum! They're said to have pitch black scales and are sensitive to light, so i thought it was fitting for Toothless. There weren't any pictures of the dragon tho so i kinda just made the design as i went.

Hiccup

i tried using costume designs from both the first two movies, with the vest, the belts, and the pant pattern.

colors took me longer to figure out, because i wanted to have some red (like in RttE) along with the greens and browns. Overall though im happy with how it turned out!

I think Hiccup would be the son of Commander or General Stoic in the Katolis army some years before or during the events of The Dragon Prince/Mystery of Aaravos.

These designs are for early in the story, before Hiccup loses his leg and when he meets Toothless for the first time. Definitely thinking that him and his village are known for their handling of dragons and elves in the region and then Hiccup shoots Toothless down just like in the movie. But as they become friends, Jack finds them and misunderstands the situation and thinks Hiccup is going to kill Toothless.

So that'll be fun >:)

ok ok so i was really proud of these designs. it took like,,, 7 and a half hours???? i was genuinely surprised but trying to figure put height differences and all that was probably what did it.

for vyncents design, i gave him a tail and little slits as pupils. partially because i thought it looked cool, but also because hes not from here!!! he should look like it a bit more! his jeans dont fit fully correctly either. i honestly dont have a ton to say.

dakota is in a pretty similar outfit to canon. i gave him the ms g tattoo on his leg. i also put a chip in his tooth. i thought it was cool. his hair is definitely dyed (imo) so in the beginning of s2 his roots will have probably grown out. ill expand a bit more on that when i get there. also did you know his eyes were amber??? i googled the wiki to see eye colors and???

for wiwi, i hc he gets a lot of hand-me-downs from david, but is a good bit shorter. Most stuff doesnt fully fit right. ofc i think wiwi would like the baggy jean look anyways. i think he gets a white streak in his hair per death, so hed have a small bit now (ill elaborate more in a future post, dont wanna fully spoil anything lol)

ashe was kinda easy cuz ive drawn her design before. i do regret making the shirt magenta. technically it was a dark magenta in canon, but i do feel like black wouldve made more sense. also couldnt decide on the eyecolor. looked at the official design and its purple tho so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

id love to do some of the other designs, like hero costumes (even though they were only there for five minutes :C) and some of the s2 ones. anyways, hope you like these guys :3

Billy Loomis and Stu Matcher

every other time you go at least one of them goes with you

The Texas heat was making your hair hard to maintain so you asked Luda Mae if you could get a few days off so you could fix that

So there this thing that was a recurring design on pretty much every outfit and everyone's pants during the Prequelle era, notice the seem down the front and how it splits kind of into a triangle above the knee.

Well that particular design choice is still present in Copia's Impera pants even tho they look hella disheveled.

I like to think that Copia really liked THOSE PANTS in particular and he's used them so much that they're basically coming apart all the time and he has to fix them with whatever he has on hand at the moment. I also like to think that explains why he's the only one with lacing down the front of his pants instead of a zipper. It broke and he had to fix it with what he had xD

That fading spotlight before curtain for intermission with just Ella's face in view is so beautiful and haunting. What an epic close to Act I.

Also, it seems like this was also a strategic way to imply Ella's outfit being transformed there on stage during the song without actually having to do the tricky costume designing quick-change theater miracles of an ACTUAL outfit transformation. Which is really brilliant. Leave the audience to wonder until post-intermission about what Ella's starlight dress will look like.
