Idk if you guys have ever had the experience of like. Going somewhere and seeing the same employee over and over again. But every time I go to get my oil changed in my car it’s at the same place and it’s always the same guy who does it. the difference that offering a child kindness and compassion can make... one of the kiddos was crying the other morning missing her mom. Sobbing crying. and i talked to her and she wasn't able to say very much from crying so hard but confirmed that she knew her mom was going to be back and it was going to be a good day and it was going to be alright but she was just inconsolable. and we did some good breaths together but she just couldn't get her breathing under control. so for like ten minutes i just had her drink some water and gave her a hug and sat with her while she cried until we were going off to the next activity and she had to go with different counselors. and by then she'd calmed down a little but was still sniffling and obviously upset but the important part is that even though i didn't even get her to stop crying anytime i saw that little girl the rest of that day and now throughout the rest of the Week after just sitting with her and offering some compassion i see her notice me as she goes by and she always looks right at me and smiles and gives me a little wave when i say hi. like we haven't had any other conversations since then but i can see the way that she recognizes me now. i'm not her favorite counselor i haven't spent more than twenty minutes with her tops but that little girl takes the time to seek out my acknowledgement cause i showed that i care about her.... y'know... cause i was gentle with her and that meant something to her... all to say. it doesn't matter if you have extended interactions with kids. it really doesn't. small things can make such a huge impact on children and i really sincerely think it's so important to show them kindness... help them up when they fall. give them a hug. sit with them while they cry. cause even if it doesn't Fix things even if you don't solve the problem or do anything really materially Helpful you will have shown that child that people care about them. and they notice... they remember... they do...

Mo Malto (the human daughter), clinging to her Dad's (Alex) side: Mr. Optimus, we... we lost the emberstone.

Optimus makes a sorrowful expression, Bee nods in understanding. They both gasp as the three new terrans pop out from under the cave's rubble.

Optimus, joyful: But look at all you've gained!

Bee: More terrans!

Optimus goes on one knee to be at better height to greet them: Welcome, young ones. I am Optimus Prime. It warms my spark to meet you. What are you're names?

The terrans all look at each other and shrug.

Robby Malto (the human son) looks to the flashing cyber sleeve on his hand: She's... Hashtag!

The largest of the terrans crouches in front of him, excitedly. She has a visor: [Gasp] You're right! Oh, I didn't have a word for my name, just a feeling!

The shortest and chunkiest of the terrans gestures nervously with his hands: Well, what am I called?

DC x Invincible

So after falling down the rabbit hole based on danny phantom in the DC verse, I decided to create some hcs based on Invincible (Mark Grayson) being in the verse.

The first time Mark lands in the DC verse, he lands in Gotham. Because of Gordon telling Bruce that something landed in Gotham, Bruce went out to check and found a kid with his suit torn to bits and blood covering him.

He is not so friendly to Mark while donning the cowl. Especially after Mark asked him who he was only for the young hero to call him lazy.

After getting called lazy, Bruce calls upon Superman, who immediately comes to Bruce’s side. Clark asks Bruce what he needs, only for Bruce to point at Mark. “Your job,” he says before leaving Invincible in Superman’s hands.

Superman is kind of confused, like “what should I do with this boy?” So he contacts Bruce only for Bruce to say “I don’t know. Not my problem.”

The first question out of Invincible’s mouth to this man who strangely reminds him of a nicer version of Omni-Man is “is he always like that?”

Superman is hesitant to answer, but when he eventually answers, his answer is affirmative. That causes Mark to just sit there with a look that screams “Makes sense.”

After checking the other hero for any injuries, Superman asks Mark his name.

“I’m Invincible.” “Is that your real alias?” “Uh, yes? Listen, Immortal was taken and I couldn’t think of anything else.” “Oh. Okay.”

After finding out Mark’s alias, Clark takes him back to Smallville, allowing Mark to stay with his parents for the time being and helps Mark train his powers.

He also meets the rest of the Justice League and the Teen Titans, working with both teams on various problems.

While Invincible gets used to living in Smallville and working with Superman, the Viltrumites back on Mark’s Earth are like “wait where is he?” Because one moment, Nolan’s offspring is on Earth and the next he isn’t.

Everyone kinda forgets about Mark’s existence only for Mark to come back much stronger than ever before. He uses the training he learned from Clark to help him with fights.

BONUS

After Mark becomes emperor of the Viltrum Empire, Mark had the Viltrumites help him build a portal to another dimension (using old tech from Robot) “to see an old friend.” He takes Eve and their children with him through the portal, ending up back in Smallville where a much older Clark Kent resides with his wife, Lois Lane-Kent.

There is a gravestone marked with the names Martha and Jonathan Kent, on which Mark places some flowers as a thank you to them. Clark is the one to see Mark at the gravestone, suspicious at first at the stranger being at his parents’ grave. However, Clark’s suspicion changes to shock as the stranger turns, revealing that it’s Mark. In just a split second, the Viltrumite and the Kryptonian literally fly at each other and the unofficial father-son duo reunite with a bone-crushing hug.

He brings them inside, to which all the kids (mainly older Conner and older Jon) dogpile Mark. Clark is just happy to have Mark back with them, and he even dials up Bruce (who’s alive but officially retired as Batman) and the rest of the Justice League, letting them know excitedly that Mark is back. To say there is a tear-jerking reunion is an understatement.
