My favourite scene had to be when they were all trapped with a fat ass dragon trying to kill them as water started to fill up the cave at a dangerous rate and Edgin was desperately trying to plan their escape, and as this was happening Xenk was just in the back chilling and turned on by Edgin LMFAOOO

Like the stare? the smirk? the smile? He has a competency kink please. This man was not at all bothered by Themberchaud or drowning to death because he knew he was safe with a certain 'harper shaking off his slumber' with him, if you rewatch this scene he's just heart eyeing him the entire time in the background, and that's why it's my favourite scene

Balin’s face when Thorin includes “the vast wealth of our people” in his list of reasons to take back Erebor is so subtle but telling af like it’s so obvious that Balin did not want to go on this quest, and the whole time he knew, he just knew he would lose Thorin to dragon sickness if they got in that mountain, and he wanted to protect him from that fate so so badly but held his tongue because he also had to have faith in Thorin and help him heal from this whole tragedy by reclaiming it, JUST to be proven right about his instinct and have to watch the metaphorical and then literal death of someone he sees basically as a son aaaah fuck me UPPPP
