Be nice to your pets, you're their whole world

Be nice to your friends, and truly be nice to everyone. I think that's the meaning of everything tbh

Going for a walk occasionally really will help your mental health. All of those things that seem silly or seem like they were thought up by people without mental illness, like taking a walk or a shower or drinking some water, really truly help a bit. They won't fix you, but they'll make you feel a little better.

Teeth are so expensive to fix, so if you can only take care of one part of you, take care of those

When drinking alcohol, have one glass of water for every alcoholic drink

You may think "I can barely take care of myself, how am I supposed to take care of something else?" But actually something else will usually help you take care of yourself. Most days I don't want to get out of bed but I have to, because my dog needs breakfast and to go for a walk, and my rats need breakfast, and I can't rot in bed all day every day because my dog needs love and attention, and at night I have to let my rats out for free roam time, even if that just means letting them hang out on the bed while I rot it's still companionship. If you don't trust yourself with a creature at first, that's so valid, get a succulent or a flower or something that's going to rely on you so you have to take care of yourself too. Even now, when I briefly think of killing myself, I immediately think "But my sibling doesn't know how to take care of my rats, so I have to stay."

It's 4:37am so clearly my wisdom hasn't brought me to make great decisions, but maybe you'll think some of this is cool or helpful

it's just really funny to me to imagine Fabian actually being a great big brother honorable nemesis.

like, putting a nemesis ward on the nursery with aelwyn's help since "it won't do if they die before their eighteenth birthday, will it?" (aelwyn, deeply sarcastic: "well of course, that is exactly why I put the ward on adaine's room." fabian, too deep in denial for sarcasm: "see? you get it")

gifting them a battle sheet baby blanket since they should start preparing for their battle early on (and yes it's extra fluffy, it's for a baby stop laughing everybody)

generally trying to teach them everything he knows "so their battle to the death will be a fair one"

giving their adventuring party the same lecture on tactics that the bad kids got from his papa

hunting down chungledown bim and any other nemesis so his sibling is the only one who could get a piece of his fund (he just wants it to stay in the family, shut up)

Last night after reading a bit of the Book of Bill i went to sleep.

i had a dream that i had to team up with Bill Cipher to assassinate an angel.

I had to carve out its heart so that Bill would let me go.

I woke up very tired.

Oswald finally has friends to relate to in FNAF

one of my favourite little things about the murderbot diaries is how present all secunit's friends are even if they're not actually physically present. it doesn't do the annoying thing where it jumps through hoops to bring back characters that aren't really relevant to the narrative but it also doesn't do the other annoying thing where it pretends they never existed either. like secunit talks about art and mensah all the time even when art or mensah aren't in the book. it's clear how bharadwaj has impacted its personal growth even when she's literally on another planet. it complains about gurathin and pin-lee when they're not there. it's still sad about miki and don abene and it mentions tapan and maro and rami even though it only knew them for a few days (because when you're new at being a person every interaction with other people is important even if it's short). iris reminds it of mensah. iris also reminds it of ratthi. its hair is fluffy bc it let amena play hairdresser off-screen and it messages her so she knows it's okay. it doesn't have to worry about protecting volescu anymore because volescu retired thank goodness. it's still using thiago's language module. etc etc etc

it's such good writing because it's such a little thing that gives the characterization and relationships greater depth and also reinforces the running theme of friendship in the series and then also subtly gives this sense of 'the people you love are a part of you/your story' and also reinforces secunit's role as a storyteller because it's constantly telling little stories about all its friends.
