AU where L and Light go to To-Oh together before the Death Note is dropped. (Whether Light is Kira is up to you, I think it'd be cool either way)
While L and the cops are investigating Kira, Light and L have began a relationship. Now, Soichiro (lights dad, if your memory is as bad as mine) is working with L, but has also literally seen him in the house.
Sufficed to say, he's shocked when he meets L and it's his son's college friend. Even more so when Light calls L nearing the end of a meeting and hears them talk more than platonically.
Here's some little excerpts my mind made up. I've watched the show only once, so I'm sorry if/that it's ooc
"Hello. I am here to see Light."
"Light! There's a weird guy at the door!" Sayu called. She glanced at him. "No offense."
"None taken," L dismissed.
Light ran down the stairs, smiling at the sight of L in the door.
"Hey! I picked up some cake, and we can go play that game I talked about."
"I figured as much, since that's why I'm here," L said. Light rolled his eyes fondly.
They walked into the kitchen, where his father was getting water.
"Oh, you must be Soichiro Yagami. Police chief, solved over 30 cases."
"Wow, Light. I had no idea you talked about me all that much."
"He doesn't."
Upon setting their sights on L, Soichiro's mind went blank. He would've never guessed. What were the chances. While everyone else was making their judgments on L and his appearance, Soichiro was trying to combine Ryuzaki with L in his mind.
He ignored it. It'd be safer for both of them if they didn't bring their personal lives into this. He took out his ID and introduced himself as if it were the first time.
"If I were Kira you would be dead Soichiro Yagami."
Combining these two people wouldn't be so difficult. He knew Ryuzaki reminded him of someone.
As they went on, he remembered small details. Light running downstairs because he and Ryuzaki had left their phones there. Ryuzaki also had an infatuation for sugar, and even when his wife made pretty universally loved tea, he'd still add stacks of sugar cubes.
Then there was...
"And from now on, I'll have to ask that you stop calling me 'L.' It's..." L glanced at Soichiro. "Ryuzaki now. Just to be safe."
How cautious was L to give a fake name to L before Kira was even a factor? And if Soichiro didn't know him, would he have used a different alias?
"Excuse me," L said, pulling his phone oddly from his pocket. "Your timing is perfect, I'm nearly done with my meeting. I'll be over shortly."
"I assume you have more puzzles to test me with?"
"Of course I do." Whoever was on the other side laughed softly. A small smile cracked L's face.
"I look forward to it, Ryu."
"So do I."
"See you soon."
L hesitated, but hung up without saying much more like usual.
"My apologies, I try not to keep him waiting."
"Was that Watari?" Matsuda asked.
"No, my boyfriend." He said it so casually, though it shocked everyone.
"You... what?" Aizawa asked.
"He's the only person I've ever met on my level. If it didn't put him in significant danger, I would've brought him in to help." He pushed his lip with his thumb. "Though that's not the only reason," he added in a mumble. He looked as ashamed as L could look.
"How long have you, uh..." Poor Matsuda was thrown extremely off guard.
"I've been queer my whole life if that's what you're asking. Though, I'm sure you're not. I've known him for a few months. He's very attractive." He pulled his hand away from his smile. "I'd tell you his name, but I don't feel comfortable doing so."
Soichiro feared he already knew who it was. Light didn't need to be put in more danger than he already was being his son. He didn't know how to feel about this.
"You'd place surveillance camera's on your own boyfriend?" Soichiro asked. He wouldn't mind placing them on Light, but L always had a certain level of respect for him.
"Of course. I've suspected he was L since before we started a romantic relationship."
This was a shock to everyone. Not only L dating Light, but L potentially dating Kira and knowing it.
"Why?"
"Light is my intellectual equal. Unfortunately that makes it more likely that he's Kira. And the fact that he made the first move only increases that likelihood, though he doesn't know I'm L. If he did, I'd be more sure."
"How sure are you?"
"About 5%. If he knew I was L before he kissed me, it'd be 7 or 8%. Getting close with the enemy is a good way of staying in their good graces and not getting caught, but I'm not going to excuse Light as a suspect just because he makes me happy. That would be ridiculous. And being his boyfriend makes it so I can monitor him outside the house without raising suspicion."
"I might be out of line, but that sounds messed up. Spying on your boyfriend?"
"Well, I don't have to. I can monitor elsewhere while they're at home. I will still be attending my outings with Light and I can't help but monitor him in those moments, though I can assure you we're usually focused on each other; I'm not sure he'd have a moment to kill with me there."
"And Light doesn't know you're L?" Aizawa asked. "Couldn't it be helpful for him to be brought on the case? He's helped on cases before."
"If Light isn't Kira, I don't want him in any danger. I'm sure Soichiro understands my dilemma." His voice was tense as were his hands.
"I do," Soichiro admitted. "I'm find putting cameras around the house. If there's any chance, we may as well check."
"Exactly."

hello! i may have been binging your posts they're so good-- i was wondering if you could write how the elezen men and thancred would react to finding out the wol is pregnant?
anon you have read my mind! 😳 this was next on my list to post!!! i had another request about naming the baby after them, so that is coming next!
warnings: pregnancy, established relationship, HW spoilers, SHWB spoilers (is that even the shadowbringers acronym…)
Tumblr media
THANCRED:
- when you tell him, he is shocked at first— this definitely wasn’t planned. it doesn’t take him long to be overwhelmed with joy, though.
- brings you into a tight hug, but releases his grip as soon as he remembers that his child is inside of you. he doesn’t want to accidentally hurt either of his babies!
- “i’m going to be a dad!” sir you already are
- the first person he tells is ryne, who is elated to hear of the news. the rest of the scions are just as happy to hear that a new baby scion will be joining the league!
- the happiest of all, though, is thancred. he is over the moon with the idea that he will get to have a miniature version of himself. he kisses your tummy every single night and makes sure to talk to his baby. he loves to tell people that his child will be handsome like his father, but inside he hopes it looks just like you.
AYMERIC:
- with all that life has brought for aymeric, a bit of joy was in order. and he was filled to the brim with joy when you told him you were pregnant.
- you hadn’t seen his eyes shine with such intensity since the day you got married. his hands instantly wrapped around your sides as he looked you up and down. you noticed tears forming at the corners of his eyes which you promptly wiped.
- the two of you shared an emotional hug. both crying, for the same yet different reasons. you were both delighted with the thought of becoming parents, but aymeric had more on his mind than that.
- it didn’t matter that his child was yet to be born— aymeric made a promise to himself to always love his child for whoever they are and whoever they want to be. his child would forever be of house de borel. no shame, no guilt, no nothing, because his child is loved, and will forever be loved. and this day, aymeric swore to be the father he never had, and to protect his child no matter what comes his way.
HAURCHEFANT:
- he cried when you told him he was going to be a dad. salty tears of joy streamed down his face as he picked you up into his arms, very careful around your abdomen.
- haurchefant was overjoyed to become a father! he couldn’t wait to welcome the littlest knight of ishgard to his family.
- he didn’t take much time to relish in the thought— he ran right to house foretemps to tell his dad all about it. edmond, emmanellain, and artoriel were all excited to hear the news! emmanellain made sure to ask as many embarassing questions as possible, earning disdainful looks from his father and older brother.
- you didn’t mind the questions, though, and found it quite cute how the brothers fawned over you and their unborn nephew. despite haurchefant being his illegitimate son, edmond was happy to be given his first grandchild. and you were even more happy that your child would have the most loving family.
ESTINIEN:
- estinien is a bit puzzled at first… he coulda sworn that pull out game was strong …
- estinien is a bit puzzled at first… he is going to be a dad… he’s going to be a dad?!!
- after your words sink into his head, estinien cups your face with his hands. he’s smiling, like a complete idiot, and it’s a little scary! but you can feel the intense warmth radiating off of him.
- he pulls you into a hug and spins you around in the air. when he sets you down, he kneels to meet your abdomen. placing one of his hands on your hip and the other on your tummy, he rests his ear flat against you to listen.
- you can’t help but giggle at his gesture as it seems a bit goofy, but he’s actually obsessed with the fact that you’re going to have his child! he jokes that his child will become a great dragon-slaying warrior as he is, and you can’t help but smile and agree.
celly
aymeric’s story makes me so freaking emotional and i could write an entire book all about having a family with him like 😭 i relate to him in so many ways… comfort character moment
also i get that haurchefant’s isn’t exactly lore accurate… personally i’d like to think that if he didn’t die that the relationships between his dad and half-brothers was created/mended … one big happy family 🥺

I am so glad I checked your rules and whether you were receiving request before I did this. If you already haven’t done it, can you do the dorm leaders(or whoever you want) with and significant other who has a tongue piercing
TONGUE PIERCING
Featuring: The dorm leaders
Plot: Obviously, nobody would may much attention to someone's mouth the first time they meet someone. But once you started dating your boyfriend, he starting seeing glints of metal in your mouth. Turns out, it was just your tongue piercing. How do they react?
Cw:Gn! Reader, established relationship, tongue piercing(obviously), I got lazy by the time I got to Kalim.
A/N: FINALLY ANOTHER REQUEST * foams at the mouth * I think I went overboard in Azul's part.
RIDDLE ROSEHEARTS:
You were busy drinking tea and eating tarts during an unbirthday party. He had always wondered why he kept seeing shinning metal in your mouth, but he finally found out what it was when you took a big sip of your tea. It burned your tongue so much that you stuck it out like a panting dogs while heavily fanning the muscle. Riddle was in a awe. His mind wondered immediately to some dark place in his mind. How would the piercing feel in his mouth? His face turned immediately red with embarrassment as he poured you a glass of water to cool your tongue down.
LEONA KINGSCHOLAR:
He actually snuck into your room while you asleep one night and on your bedside table was your tongue piercing. He first thought it was just a normal earring, until he straight up watched you slip the metal accessory through your wet muscle. He was aghast. He legit had zero idea you had such a feature. Honestly, he found you a lot more hot now. He makes sure that whenever you and him are making out, he brushes his tongue over your piercing.
AZUL ASHENGROTTO:
You were completely bored out of your mind as you lied on one of Azul's office's couch. Floyd was busy squeezing someone somewhere and Jade was busy waiting tables in the lounge. Suddenly, an idea popped in your head and you sat up. You walked over to Azul's desk where he was busy who knows what and you started playing with his hair. At first, he payed no mind to you, thinking you were just going through a moment, when you accidently, you tugged on Azul's hair a bit to hard. He whipped his head around to meet your eyes, but he saw was you sticking your pierced tongue out mischievously. He stopped in his tracks when he saw the metal. He sat fazed in his plush seat as you cheakily ran to hang out with Floyd. Shit. He found you ten times more pretty now.
KALIM AL-ASIM:
He kind of knew the entire time. He even gets you jewel studded piercings for you. But he is very curious about it. Did it hurt when you got it pierced? Was it sore afterward? How much does it cost? You happily answered all of his questions as he examined the piercing closer.
VIL SCHOENHEIT:
Actually found it ugly first time he saw it. He first made you take it out around him. But after a while, he got used to it and actually now really likes it. Theres honestly nothing special...
IDIA SHROUD:
He started naming all the video game and anime characters he knew that had tongue piercings as well. Finds it hot as hell and will absolutely have sinful dreams about it. He actually likes it so much that he thought about getting his own so he could match with you!
MALLEUS DRACONIA:
Thought someone had tortured you in the past and this was the remains. First swore to avenge you, but you explained to him that it was completely voluntary. He was obviously confused, but went along with it. Didn't understand the appeal until he saw you lick your bottom lip. Was immediately infatuated with the accessory from then on.

Summer of Love:- Arriving in Michigan
Jack Hughes X F!reader
This is my first ever fanfic so please be kind. If anyone has any requests please do ask.I’m also thinking of making a part two to this. My other fics will be Y/N but for this one I felt she needed a name TW:- Mentions of divorce?
Tumblr media
(Not my gif, credits to whoever made this)
To say Mackenzie was nervous would be the biggest understatement, she was shaking with anticipation on her drive to Canton with her sister. Jack and Mackenzie had been dating for 2 years now and even though Mackenzie had met the Hughes family on multiple occasions throughout those 2 years this would be the first time Mackenzie’s sister Skylar would be meeting them.
Mackenzie and Skylar were extremely close having gone through their parents divorce together at a young age, and their dad not really in the picture. Mackenzie and Skylar were really all they had, if the Hughes didn’t like Skylar it was a massive deal breaker for Mackenzie and yet here she was driving to Canton to spend an entire summer with her sister and her boyfriends family. Mackenzie was so caught up in her head that she didn’t realise Skylar was talking to her until she felt a poke to her shoulder.
“What’s the matter with you Kenz?” Skylar asked worriedly, her sister was never this quiet usually you’d have to tell her to be quiet. “Nothing Sky Im just a little nervous for you to meet everyone that’s all .” Kenzie replied. “I’ll be fine Kenzie, if they’re as amazing as you say they are we’ll get on great.” Skylar could visibly see Kenzie relax at that.
“We’re almost there now could you text Jack and let him know we’re about 15 minutes away?” Kenzie asked Skylar. “Yeah of course, what’s your passcode?” Skylar asked. “My birthday” Kenzie replied immediately. After Skylar had typed in the code and messaged Jack informing him of what Kenzie had said they were soon pulling into the drive way. Taking a deep breath Mackenzie went to grab the door handle before Skylar spoke again. “Hey kenz it’s gonna be ok, this summer is gonna be fun I just know it” “thank you Skye I’m glad you decided to come along this year” Kenzie replied before getting out.
Jack and Quinn were standing on the front porch waiting to greet the girls and help them with their bags, once jack saw Mackenzie he ran to greet her having not seen her for a few days as she went back home to get Skylar. As soon as Jack was standing in front of her, Kenzie pulled him into a hug and kissed him quickly before pulling away, much to jacks dismay. Jack then went to greet Skylar as Mackenzie was pulled into another hug by the oldest hughes brother. “Hey Kenzie, how have you been?” Quinn asked her. “I’ve been good Q, exhausted from having to juggle time with Sky and Jack though” Quinn chuckled at that and let go of her. “Yeah Rowdy’s not stopped talking about you and when your getting here”. “When are the other boys getting here?” Kenzie asked noticing the lack of noise coming from the house. “They’re coming later this evening, jack didn’t want to overwhelm you or Skylar with them all” Quinn responded, Kenzie could feel her heart swell at Jack being so thoughtful.
After greeting everyone and introducing Skylar, the boys decided it would be a good idea to play a game of 20 questions to get to know Skylar a little more and that is how Kenzie found herself tucked under jacks arm on the couch with Skylar on the other side of her answering questions she never thought would come up again. To be fair to the boys the questions started out normal, “when’s yours and Mackenzie’s birthday Skylar?” Asked Luke. Skylar replied almost instantly “ Mine is March 27th 2003 and Kenzie’s is June 21st 2001” Quinn asked Kenzie how she got the scar on her forehead, it started from her right temple and ended above her eyebrow, and she replied telling the boys the story of how Skylar pushed her off a boat during a vacation because she wouldn’t share her nerd clusters with her.
When the attention was back on Skylar, Mackenzie relaxed when she realised she didn’t need to worry anymore, Skylar was right they were getting on great, they were having fun but Kenzie was still on edge, she was protective of her sister in the same light that Skylar was protective of her. Kenzie couldn’t help but giggle louder than she anticipated as everyone looked over at her. “What’s funny babe?” Jack asked looking down at her. “Nothing sweets—nothing, I was just thinking back to the first time you met sky!” She replied. Jack groaned as Skylar started giggling as well. Quinn and Luke looked lost watching the scene unfold. “What happened?” Luke asked. Kenzie tried to reply but couldn’t as she kept laughing. Skylar took over instead, “oh my gosh, so when I first heard about jack I was wary of him, kenz’s first boyfriend was a right douche who never treated her right and so after him I vowed to give her next boyfriend a hard time when I first met him, you know get to know what he really wanted with my sister. I wasn’t gonna let another boy break her heart and so when she first brought Jack around i interrogated him for the entire night, I honestly thought he was gonna cry he looked so scared. But I realised he was actually a perfect fit for kenz and I had to tell him the jig was up and I was just messing with him.” Lukes face had turned red as he was trying so hard not to laugh, until he couldn’t hold it in, everyone else followed suit and soon the whole living room was filled with laughter, until the doorbell rang.
Luke, Quinn and Jack looked at each other confused until they heard a familiar voice shout “Yo Hughesy open the door your best buddies are here” Luke bolted it to the door, with everyone else following suit, and there stood on the front porch was the Michigan sophomore boys. Kenzie looked over to Skylar to see her smiling brightly with her nose slightly scrunched, confused Mackenzie tried to see who her sister was looking at and that’s when she realised someone on the Umich hockey team had caught her eye. Would this be the summer everything changed for sky?
AN:- would you guys like a part 2? Who do you want the mysterious Umich boy to be? I’m open to suggestions. Again please be kind this is my first ever fic

Sonic & Tails vs the Lingering Haunt One Shot Late-Halloween Story.
On the night following Halloween, Tails takes Sonic to one of his many Auxiliary workshops. However it turns out that a new Haunted "Ware-"House has opened in the next door abandoned factory. Seeking some spooky themed fun they head inside to check it out even though it should already be closed. However inside they find signs of an out of control accident and it becomes increasingly hard to tell if it's all just part of the attraction. If it isn't, then several lives may be on the line.
Flickering yellow lights illuminated a dilapidated asphalt road ahead. Rotten utility poles creaked as they strained to hold many thick cables against a light breeze. On either side stood tall red brick buildings, warehouses and factory plants strewn with cracks. Far ahead past the flickering lights and under an old electric substation was a small shed with an uncharacteristically well sealed metal door. This whole environment offered many interesting sights of old industrial technology. So Tails wondered why it seemed Sonic didn’t agree this was a good place to take it slow.
“Yet another hidden lair, one of many scattered around the world. What sort of machinations do you undertake here?” Sonic the Hedgehog stretched his arms as he strolled onward, giving Tails a glance of his cheeky grin.
“Only the dark matters of sleep, microwave meals, and video games,” said Tails, “...and maybe some evil reverse engineering.”
Sonic chuckled, then started humming as he resumed meandering from side to side ahead of Tails. “You really chose a spooky place to put this one huh?”
“Well, I guess if you find cool mechanical computers and assembly lines scary, it is.” A nearby light fixture exploded with a pop, making Tails jump and sending a shower of sparks and glass to the ground. “...And I guess electrical fires can be scary.”
“Pfft, bring it on!” said Sonic.
Chuckling to himself, Tails rubbed his heavy eyes and pulled out a tablet device. It’d be a good idea to disarm his security system so he wouldn’t have to run a  gauntlet to get to bed. Of course there was no doubt Sonic wouldn’t mind that.
As he watched his tablet attempt to contact the auxiliary workshop, Tails felt a tap on his shoulder. Sonic was pointing at the front office of the largest nearby factory. It was decorated with black and orange paint and a sign that read ‘Haunted ware-House.’
“Wanna check this place out?” said Sonic, “I’ll bet I can get through without screaming once.”
“I’d make that bet if Halloween wasn’t last night,” said Tails.
“I’m sure whoever set this up won’t mind us checking it out alone real quick,” said Sonic.
“You’re probably right.” Tails glanced at his tablet still trying to make a connection, then put it away.
The two of them pushed through the front door, it was heavy but left ajar. All sorts of custom made spooky art and decorations adorned this office, now converted into a foyer to some scary times. Many decorations were made from rusty wires and shaped into classic skeletal imagery. Most notably was one wire-skeleton slumped back in a rolling chair, its hand pointing at a dark hallway surrounded by warning tape. The creepy vibes here were actually pretty neat.
Sonic had already started wandering around investigating the wire skeletons and copying their poses. His impression of a skeleton face down, fully dead, in front of a computer terminal made Tails chuckle. But after a moment Sonic looked up at the terminal. “Oh hey this things on.”
“It is?!” Tails ran over and leaned over the wire skeleton. The crt screen in front of him was indeed on, showing a list of green text. One glance at the ports on the terminal showed it wasn’t connected to a full computer anymore. Yet the terminal still displayed a history of input commands and responses between the last user and a computer.
There were several commands to send power to machines whose names were completely corrupted. These commands ended with a mistyped command to shut everything down, followed by a notification that connection between the terminal and the computer was cut. Even then there were three more attempts to command a shut down with no response. A chill ran up Tails’ back as he noticed that at the bottom, one more shut down command was half-typed but never entered.
“Must be pretty immersive, huh buddy?” said Sonic
“Oh! Yeah, this is so clever!” Tails couldn’t help but smile as he quickly recounted everything he’d observed. He then paused for a moment to articulate better to Sonic. “Basically this feed makes it look like some terrible accident happened here! I can’t believe they left this here, who’d even pay attention to it?”
“Well evidently they got one fan,” said Sonic.
Tails giggled, Sonic was right. He now really wanted to meet whoever set up this ‘haunted ware-house’. Upon noticing the slightly ajar staff room door nearby he figured maybe he could. He hurried over and took a peek inside, it seemed to be a dressing room. Many hangers were covered with mundane jackets and clothes. Nearby old mirrors were set up over tables with an assortment of makeup.
“Tails buddy, It’s probably rude to just walk into a dressing room,” said Sonic.
Tails frowned and started to object, but he focused on the mundane clothes again. Those were definitely not the costumes actors would be wearing here. Those were their casual clothes. Several bags and other garments strewn about reinforced a growing notion in Tails’ mind that didn’t make much sense. “Wait, are the actors all still here? With no guests?”
Sonic stepped past Tails and looked around for a moment. “Any way this is another part of the immersion?”
“...Maybe? Well no, it doesn’t make sense with the theme…” said Tails, “Unless, we’re supposed to think the staff here actually fell victim to evil machines.”
“Or they actually did,” said Sonic.
They both glanced back to the dark tunnel leading into the attraction proper. A hum of electricity echoed from within the factory.
“Hello?” shouted Sonic, His voice echoed and faded into the background hum. “Anyone in here?! Is this part of the act?”
Tails felt his ear twitch as he thought he heard something else, a distant scrape, or even yell? It sounded as though it could be part of the humming or Sonics distorted echo. Even still his heartbeat elevated slightly. He then saw Sonic’s ear swivel.
“Did you hear something?” said Tails.
“I’m not sure,” said Sonic.
Tails felt his tails puff up slightly at Sonic's response. “Same here…”
“Well, let’s check it out!” Sonic turned to Tails and gave him a wide smile.
Nodding in response, Tails followed Sonic into the dark hall.  If anyone was in actual trouble Sonic could help them. They moved quickly, finding just enough dim light from the buttons and bulbs on several large old terminals along the sides of the hall. Tails kept his eyes and ears focused on everything they passed. First he noticed that this hallway was ramshackled together out of spare metal sheets and bolts.  Many disparate extension cords ran in and out of the walls to the terminals as well. Clearly a lot of work went into moving this equipment around… and maybe an electrical fire should be a real concern.
A crunch rang out from Tails’ foot. He stopped, and lifted his shoe to see a crushed lollipop. There were a couple other pieces of candy dropped on the ground. Not a good sign. He scanned the area closely and noticed the candy forming a messy trail down the hall. Surely this could be part of the attraction. Signs that some trick or treater had been dragged away, leaving only a trail of candy was a compelling idea. But the trail didn’t lead to a spooky set, it led to a wall.
“Sonic!” said Tails, “There’s a trail here!”
It took a second, but Sonic appeared from around a corner further down the hall. He still didn’t look worried, which was comforting. But as he opened his mouth, he let out a gasp. In an instant he glared daggers toward Tails, his quills shooting up into spikes.
Tails’ heart skipped a beat. He managed to dive to the ground and roll away in time to avoid a large shape that hit the ground behind him. It was a badnik.
It was, until Sonic slammed into it with a spin dash. Its body shattered instantly. Most of the shrapnel and Sonic himself tore through the ramshackled wall. The resulting cacophony echoed through the factory. Somewhere in Sonic's path of destruction he must’ve hit some wires as the little light they did have disappeared with a loud pop. All of the terminals and industrial control panels went silent and dark.
“Are you okay?!” said Sonic from within the hole in the wall.
“Am I okay?!” Tails ran over to the hole and pulled out his tablet. Its flashlight illuminated Sonic, who was completely tangled up in wires and warped metal. “Are YOU okay?!”
“Watch for more!” said Sonic.
Tails knew Sonic was right. He swiveled on his heels and aimed the flashlight to the ceiling. Up in the old rusty rafters hung several dark light fixtures, many industrial sized wires, and more notably some sort of rail. There was a mess of cord all along this sprawling rail line. That was some high end tech for a factory like this. It was also exciting. Scanning his light over more of the rafters revealed that the rails seemed to form a grid. He stopped his light at a trolley wheel fixture that had a cord hanging from it. It was snapped halfway down, looming over the spot the badnik fell.
“Oh.”
Sonic appeared by Tails’ side, accompanied by flying shrapnel. “Are there more?”
“No… Not yet.”
Tails leaned down and picked up a piece of the badnik. It was the head of a grabber, a spider like badnik. But some of the damage on it was old. He quickly gathered more parts of the badnik to examine the damage closely. Within a minute he had most of it laid out on the ground. It didn’t take long for him to recognize the signs of previous damage, as well as patches on its body. Then he found a cord hanging from a cavity on the badnik. It had been powered by the factory’s electricity.
“Hey bud I know you like this stuff but I think we’ve seen this one before,” said Sonic.
“We have.”
“Okay then let’s get movi-”
“No, we've seen this specific one before. You probably busted it a while ago.”
Sonic squinted, then his eyes started to widen with realization. Tails couldn’t help but smile as Sonic picked up what he was getting at.
“They made this part of the attraction?”
“Definitely,” said Tails, “It doesn’t even have its brain. It was being run from whatever this cord connects to.”
“Wait…” said Sonic, “You didn’t set all this up to scare me, did you?”
“What, no?”
“It just seems up your alley, literally and metaphorically.”
“If I was trying to scare you I wouldn’t just explain how this works yet. Besides, I’dve put it together a bit better than this.”
“Okay I believe you on the point that you’re a better engineer.”
“But, I do think this came from my stash.”
“... your what.”
“Don’t be mad.”
It didn’t take long for Sonic & Tails to run outside and to his nearby workshop. If Tails was right, then the whole haunted ware-house was being operated from his computer inside. As they reached the secure metal door on the small shack entrance he whipped out his tablet. His security system was still not responding. He growled at this, if someone shut down his security system he was supposed to get an alert about it.
“Sonic, can you use your spare key?”
“Are you sure?”
“Yeah. Have fun.”
With  a woosh Sonic dashed away. Then with a delayed boom Sonic returned and slammed into the door. He bounced backward and careened through the air as the door, and the wall around it, collapsed. Tails took note that he oughta remember where he got that security door.
After Sonic shook off the impact he accompanied Tails inside. With the press of a button, the floor inside the shack lowered and became a rampway to a bunker below. The collapsed security door slid down the ramp and hit a tripwire. An alarm blared and a large net fell over the door, magnetic weights clamping it down. This was a surprise. His security system was online. Which was worse.
Luckily none of the further traps and barriers along the path to the control room stopped Sonic as he sped through. This wasn’t by design, but Tails tried not to be bothered by that right now. It wasn’t long until he saw Sonic reach the door to the control room, where he should’ve been stopped by an energy barrier boxing him in. Instead nothing happened. Great. This was a good thing. Very good.
As Sonic forced open the last door Tails ran inside past him. Someone had definitely been here. Most of the space here had been reserved for storing mostly intact badniks, but only a few pieces of scrap were left on the pallets.
“Oh shit.”
“Tails.”
Tails glared at Sonic, who was giving him a disapproving head shake. This didn’t last long as both started laughing. Things felt a little less tense.
“Soooo, what were you doing with the badniks?”
“Nothing anymore…” Tails walked across the room to an area with several desks, a foldable mattress on the ground, and a ‘modest’ computer. “Sometimes I went back to help clean places up after we chased Eggman away. Back then I still wanted to know how his badniks worked inside and out. So I brought them here and reassembled them.”
“Without turning them on, right?”
“Duh!” Tails rolled his eyes. “I took out all of their brains. But, they could still be run by direct commands if you hooked a computer up to their empty heads.”
Sonic meandered over to Tails and patted his head. This was distracting, but nice.
“So why’d you think I’d be mad?” said Sonic.
“Because someone found them. Now people might be getting hurt.”
As Tails pressed the power button on his computer, the screen lit up instantly. It didn’t need to boot up. Cool. he also found that there was no longer a password necessary to access his operating system. Nice, very convenient. Tails knew he must’ve been glowering because Sonic nudged him and gave him a reassuring smile.
“Well I know it’s not your fault.”
“How, my security system didn’t work at all apparently.”
Sonic pointed to a nearby wall. Though it was dark, now that Tails paid attention he could see a large forklift shaped hole in the wall. The hole led directly into the dark basement of the next door factory. A bundle of cords laid across the floor to Tails’ computer, all plugged into a port on the back.
“Huh.”
“Workplace accident,” said Sonic, “go figure.”
The solution here was obvious, unplug the cords. But, it’d be prudent to check what they were doing first. He dug around the task manager for a bit before finding a terminal emulator running. “Wait what?” Opening the window revealed a screen similar to that on the old terminal in the office, a list of green text. The last output from whatever computer he was connected to claimed to be running a ‘plant containment simulation.’
“So can you shut it down or do I gotta smash some stuff?” said Sonic.
“...Could you try cutting the power lines outside?”
With a woosh Sonic ran outside the workshop bunker. A second later Tails heard a distant snap. An echoing crack and winddown sound emanated from the tunnel into the factory. Then a following powerup sound echoed out accompanied by several bells and alarms. The piercing ringing made his ears twitch as he checked the terminal window again.
‘ALERT. AUXILIARY POWER ONLINE.”
“How about you don’t,” said Tails.
With a gust of wind Sonic reappeared behind Tails. “Didn’t work huh?”
“I’ll keep trying here, you should probably-”
“Find if anyone’s in trouble, got it!” said Sonic before he ran down the dark tunnel.
“TURN ON YOUR COMMUNICATOR!” shouted Tails.
Tails’ wrist beeped, and Sonic's voice replied over the comm, “Oh yeah, gotcha!”
Typing at an admittedly incredibly fast rate, Tails attempted many generic help commands to find out more about what he was hooked up to. In short order he found it responded with a new window labeled security mainframe. It was sending a constant stream of indecipherable data. As he squinted at this, the computer automatically opened several more windows. Then in quick succession they closed. It was a very good thing he didn’t keep anything important on here.
Distant echoes of crashes put pressure on him. Then he noticed outputs from the terminal window with each crash, ‘power redirected.’ This usually accompanied a new window opening on his computer that spat out garbage text or fuzzy visuals. “Hey Sonic, can you stop breaking the badniks for a second?”
“If they stop jumping me,” said Sonic over the comm, “can you get some lights on in here?”
“Uh, probably,” Tails entered a couple more commands, and suddenly a wave of hanging lights lit up down the tunnel and inside. “There you go.”
“...Buddy, how many badniks did you have?”
“Why?” Tails was refocused on his computer as he now managed to find a window that opened up a security camera feed. It was fuzzy but he could make out Sonic on the floor, he was staring up at the ceiling. “Uh, hang on.” Tails flipped between cameras, each with incredibly fuzzy feed, some completely black. All were looking at Sonic from different angles. “Hey, are there any cameras looking at the ceiling?”
“...There aren’t any cameras,” said Sonic.
“Wha-oh…” Tails felt his hands shake. But not from fear. “Okay okay, I’m patched into the badniks. Let me have a look around.”
Tails started flipping through every available feed. Most were in the ceiling above Sonic and the ramshackled haunted-house path. As he found another black screen and went on to the next feed his computer let out a garbled noise. He paused, then went back to the black screen. The garbling resumed. Tails pressed his ear close to the speaker. Then he realized it wasn’t coming from his speakers, it was playing over the factory intercom.
“Tails, what is that?” said Sonic.
“I don’t know,” said Tails.
Suddenly a voice could be made out through the garbling. “Hey! Is someone Here? We need Help!!”
As the voice spoke a garbled ringing escalated through the intercoms, eventually drowning everything else out. The piercing noise made Tails fold his ears down. Since Sonic’s inside it must be worse for him. Then with a loud pop, the intercom, and evidently the lights, went out. A fuse must’ve blown.
“Tails! Where are they? Tails!?” said Sonic over the comm.
“I don’t know!” said Tails.
Down the tunnel Tails heard the echoes of combat resume. Flipping through the feed on his computer revealed the badniks chasing Sonic as he ran through the floor. Motobugs rolled after him as buzz-bombers swung down at him from the ceiling.
“Shit, sorry Tails!” said Sonic, as one by one the visual feeds cut out.
As before, the workshop computer went haywire. Windows opened all over making it impossible to use. Still he managed to reach the terminal window again and attempted several shutdown commands. Each was met with ‘unknown command.’ A growl rose from his throat. He wasn’t able to help at all from here. Screw it then. He reached around the back and pulled the cords out of the port on his computer.
The computer crashed of course. But in the factory all of the old machinery began turning on. With the sound of engines, the song of the factory drowned out everything else. This was bad, it was dark and now Sonic couldn’t hear. Why did the power redirect like that anyway? What was turning everything on? Tails almost dropped the bundle of cords in his hand, then looked at them closely. Oh, duh!
“Sonic! I’m gonna find the main computer, hold on!” shouted Tails into his communicator.
Sonic's response was completely muffled by the running machinery. Right, too loud.
Plugging his ears with the closest rags he could find, Tails ran through the tunnel and into the factory. He kept his light on the bundle of cords as he followed it along the wall. This path took him behind the set of the haunted ware-house and up a pole to the ceiling. With his spinning tails he flew up into the rafters. There were many more cables here wrapped along the ceiling like old corroded roots. But with the light of his tablet, Tails could discern the bundle of newer cords from the rest.
Ducking and weaving past cables and rails, Tails heard the occasional crash of Sonic breaking something below him. He glanced down at the dark for a second, seeing only bits of action from flying sparks. Suddenly his body hit a net of cables. He yelped and flailed, nearly dropping his tablet as his tails tangled up in the cables.
“Ow ow ow!” said Tails as he scrambled to grab the cables above him. Soon he got a grip of one and shined the light on his tails. The knot wasn’t that bad. What was bad was the eyes of a buzz bomber on the other side of the mass of cables.
“...Please don’t.”
The Buzz-Bomber came to life and fluttered only one in-tact wing. As it charged into the cables, Tails gasped and dropped his tablet. Several cables snapped, allowing the Buzz-Bomber to slam its body into him. They both fell down toward a spinning machine of many spikes and gears. But before they met that fate the cord on the Buzz-Bomber came taut and sent them both swinging back up into the Rafters. Tails kept a tight grip on its thorax as it carried him back up and onto a rusty beam.
Now on stable footing, Tails kept hold of the Buzz-Bomber while reaching for the cable hooked into its head. It glared at him while trying to fly with its single wing. Tails gave it a smile back. “Thanks, and sorry.” With a hard yank he pulled out the cable and the badnik went limp.
Now back to that dang bundle of cords. Glancing around, another flash from below showed Tails a large utility tunnel into the ceiling in front of him. Most of the cables and cords, old and new, ran up it.
“HEY! Up here!” shouted Tails.
Despite the deafening machinery and Tails’ earplugs, Sonic shouted back, “‘Kay! One sec!”
With a running leap Sonic landed onto the beam next to Tails. An odor of burnt rubber accompanied him. His quills were clearly covered in oil and fine metal dust. That had to be uncomfortable, and yet Sonic just casually stretched like normal.
The two of them looked up the utility tunnel and saw more darkness. Spooky. Undeterred, Tails took Sonic's hands and flew him up the tunnel, being mindful of anything in his path.
At the top, they were met with a large open room. In the middle was some sort of dark mass. From within the mass came a series of fuzzy speaker sounds. It’d be really nice to have a light here. As Tails waited and tried to discern what they were looking at, Sonic walked closer. Suddenly a series of red lights lit up the chamber, making Tails jump. Seeing Sonic stiffen up made him feel less embarrassed. But the mass of cables hanging from an Eggman capsule in the ceiling made Tails feel less relaxed.
Inside the capsule was a small group of mobians. Most of them seemed to be unconscious, but one jackal looked down at them. “H-hey! Watch out!” she said, muffled through some kind of speaker.
“Hang on!” said Sonic. He immediately dashed a lap around the room and jumped up to the tangled up capsule. Then as soon as he touched the wires he seized up. With a flashing arc of electricity Sonic was sent flying off of the capsule.
Heart jumping in his throat, Tails flew after Sonic and caught him just feet from the ground. He could feel Sonic grip his hand, which was a relief. It shouldn’t have been, Sonic is tough.
“I’m good. But how do we get them out?” said Sonic.
“Uh…” Tails looked over the wires, they seemed to lower down from the capsule on the ceiling and form a curtain shrouding the middle of the chamber. He took a step toward it. The wires shook and parted, but nothing clearly came out from underneath. Yet cables on the ground shifted around. Each one getting nudged was closer to Tails and Sonic.
 “Sonic.”
“I see it.”
Tails stepped aside and watched Sonic spindash in that direction. With a loud bong he bounced back. For the moment of impact a much larger than usual chameleon shaped badnik was visible. It was a Newtron, but with bounce pads on its head and back. It continued crawling toward Tails as it returned to invisibility. They could handle this.
Sonic spun around and hit the Newtron a few more times from each side. Eventually he landed in its path and waited. After a few more steps, the Newtron reappeared with its mouth open toward Sonic who immediately rolled at it. But instead of firing a projectile, a vacuum in the Newtrons mouth sucked Sonic right up. Its tail extended to the curtain of wires and cables, where Sonic was shot into a vacuum tube of some kind and pulled up to the capsule.
Tails’ mouth was wide open as he watched Sonic get dropped into the pile of people inside the wrapped up capsule.
“Tails,” said Sonic through the muffling of the speaker, “Coulda warned me that Badnik could do that.”
“I didn’t build that one!” said Tails.
“Okay! But you can handle this!”
Tails made eye contact with the large modified Newtron before it turned invisible again. His heart started pounding more, but he didn’t need to panic. This thing wasn’t that fast. He watched for any cables hooked into its invisible body as he got some distance away. Then he saw it. One black cable rising into the air, the end of it fading into invisibility. He let out a slow breath, then dashed toward it. Using the momentum he flew up into the air right at the cable. But as he almost reached it, he hit the bumper on the Newtrons head.
Tails yelled as he careening up toward the tangled up capsule. Heart pounding, he swung around and used his spinning tails as a brake. His shoes stopped inches short of the exposed high-voltage wires. Looking up he made eye contact with Sonic, and gave him a shaky thumbs up.
“Watch out!!!”
Tails looked down and saw the Newtron visible again, its jaws open. A powerful vacuum of wind into its mouth started to pull Tails down. He clenched his teeth and spun his tails as hard as he could. But the wind continued dragging him down. There had to be a way out! He was smarter than this. Yet he wasn’t able to fly himself away and the vacuum showed no signs of losing power.
A series of loud bangs above Tails got his attention. It was Sonic, kicking the side of the capsule repeatedly. It felt awful to make Sonic worry like that. But as they made eye contact Sonic gave him a wink. With one last kick one of the wires fell loose, its torn end casting sparks around. That could work! Tails let the wire fall past him, then stopped spinning his Tails.
Sparks flew as the Newtron choked on the hot wire. The vacuum in its throat stopped, and Tails landed right on its snout. It made eye contact with him, so he gave it a wink. He then jumped off of its snout and dived toward the cable in its head. The Newtron turned its body invisible again, but Tails managed to reach the cable. He gripped it as hard as he could and tried to fly up, but it was plugged in tight. Growling as he strained, Tails felt the Newtron trying to shake him loose. If it hit him with those bounce pads he’d be back at square one.
That was an idea though. Tightening his grip, Tails bit into the cable. Then he let himself drop. As soon as his feet hit the bounce pad the force shot him away, putting strain on his arms and jaw. Strain the cable couldn’t take. Hearing a snap, he opened his eyes to see himself swinging away from the now powerless Newtron. He’d done it.
Tails couldn’t help but shout a muffled cheer through the cable in his teeth. This was interrupted by an impact into the ceiling, and a subsequent flop down to the ground. Taking only a moment to catch his breath, Tails cheered and laughed some more. Soon he saw Sonic standing over him with a relieved look on his face. Tails started to stand, but Sonic lifted him up under his arms.
“You good pal?” said Sonic.
“Yep!” Tails wagged his tails despite the soreness in his body, “just jostled.”
“Good! Let's get everyone out of here then!”
While the others in the capsule were drowsy and thirsty, no one was badly hurt. The costumes most of them wore implied they must’ve been here since Halloween the previous night. One problem emerged as they got ready to lead everyone out though, the factory floor below was still running with dangerous machines everywhere.
“Hey, do any of you know where the computer running all of this is?” said Tails.
“...Uh, yeah.” A dark green jackal lady with grease matted fur walked forward while rubbing the back of her head. She wore overalls that were pierced with metal shrapnel and blood stains.
“Are you okay?!” said Tails.
“What? Oh yeah, it's a costume.”
She led Tails to a wall next to an elevator on the other side of this upper chamber. A panel moved aside easily, revealing a massive computer room. Tails felt his jaw drop in awe, it was beautiful. Rows of ancient electrical computers the size of sheds buzzed and clicked. At the far back wall was one large control panel with a button for every function. As Tails approached and saw several new components plugged into this panel he realized what the problem was.
“You… you supplemented the processing power of the factory with computer chips from badniks?!”
“Yeah, I thought they’d be cool with it,” said the Jackal.
“That’s actually super cool!” Tails looked over at Sonic, “But reckless! So reckless. Irresponsible.”
“Also maybe don’t steal stuff,” said Sonic.
“Everything here’s abandoned,” said the Jackal, “also you look kinda like Sonic the Hedgehog.”
“Dude my computer was obviously way newer than all this,” said Tails. “Did you really think my workshop was part of this factory?”
“I mean it was full of old broken stuff,” said the Jackal.
Tails shook his head and crawled into the control panel computer. It wasn’t hard to find the power supply and unplug it. With that, the entire factory shut down with a whine. He looked at the badnik computers for a moment then left them plugged in as he crawled back out.
“Okay, these Badniks should stop trying to kill us with assembly lines now,” said Tails.
“Oh before you guys go, did our Haunted Ware-House scare you at all?” said the Jackal.
“At most it was startling sometimes,” said Sonic, “but I’m used to danger, so I’m not a good metric for that.”
“I did like the aesthetic!” said Tails.
With the danger passed, Sonic and Tails lead the staff and kids out of the factory. In that time Tails grilled the staff more about how they’d set all this up. Apparently the Newtron sucking people into a capsule was supposed to be the main attraction. But then it didn’t release anything it had sucked up afterwards like it was supposed to. Even still this ‘Haunted Ware-House’ seemed pretty neat, maybe they could run a safer version next year.
But not at this sight, as within minutes of everyone escaping out the front, the old factory became engulfed with flames. A strong scent of burnt rubber as it started told Tails exactly why. “Electrical fires spread scary fast. Neat.”
“I guess the true haunting was the safety violations we made along the way,” said the Jackal.
“This is one awesome fire though,” said Sonic. “But yeah, you all could’ve died if we hadn’t showed up.”

Where’s the book?
This is a Bill cipher x pine sister reader(she is 19),Bill will be in a human form and yeah so basically a quick summery below!(Also real quick I wanna say that this is set after the whole Gideon thing.)
Y/N had moved to live with her sibling for the summer due to some things at home and was pushed into a whole new world of things.Y/N learns about the book and who bill cipher is.Since she’s new though bill sees this as a chance to get the book.
-———-———————-——-—————————-——————-—————
Tumblr media
Y/N’s POV:
I just finished cleaning up the mystery shack and was feeling pretty tired actually.I put up my cleaning supplies then started heading to my room which was actually a few rooms down from the Grunkle Stan’s .
I was halfway up the stairs when I heard someone call my name “Y/N!” I turned around to be met with my joyful sister,Mabel I smiled at her “Yes Mabel?” She tilted her head at me and asked “Where are you going don’t you wanna play a game tonight?” I Shake my head no softly.
She frowned a little but nodded ok and ran off,I made my way to my bedroom and changed into a tank top and some shorts.I then soon got under my covers and turned off the lights feeling tiredness take over my mind.
……….
……
……
.
.
….
.
.
I saw light though my closed eyes and so I opened them only to be meet inside a room but i was confused on how I got here I remembered falling asleep in my bed I don’t remember being moved but that wasn’t the only weird thing.
The room wasn’t in color it was in gray scale,I looked around only to not see anyone but I jumped when I heard a voice behind me “ well if it isn’t the unknown sister!” I turned around to only be met with a…floating dorito? I started at it trying to figure out if I was dreaming or not.I couldn’t figure it out to I just moved my brand to my arm and pinched myself hard.
But yet nothing around me changed I then heard it’s voice again “Your not dreaming kid!” I turned towards it and got up some courage and asked “Who are you and better what are you?”
It looked at me “Well kid I’m bill cipher and I’m a dream demon!” I regonized that name but from what?
………..
Wait shit! This is BILL CIPHER the one dipper was talking about! I started to stand up and back up “Well Mr.Bill Sir it was great meeting you and all but I really gotta go!” I started heading to the door hoping it was a way out.
but before I could touch it the door turned into Bill I jumped back in surprise and tripped falling on to my ass…dang it! Bill just looked at me “Well actually kid I wanna offer a deal to you!” I really didn’t feel like it was a good idea to speak to him.
so I just ignored him and moved as far away from him as I could,he seemed to notice “Well kid if you don’t like this form to talk to I can l change!” I just kept trying to find a way out and ignoring him.
but When my back was turned I felt a hand grab my shoulder I swung my hand at whoever placed there hand on my shoulder only for it to be grabbed I looked and saw a pale skinned boy with golden blond hair and a black and yellow suit with a little top hat and eye patch.
which I could only guess was bill still he smiled at me “Well Hopefully you’ll listen to me now kid!” I was starting to get annoyed at this kid part but didn’t say anything.
I tried yanking my arm back but he wouldn’t let go I tugged but he just tightened his grip “ listen kid I’ll let you go if you listen to me but if you don’t you might be trapped here forever!”
I decided to ignore the sound my head screaming at me to not agree what go so wrong with just listening? I nodded my head but still didn’t speak he smirked “ Good Now I wanted to see if we could make a deal.”
I let my curiosity win and asked “What type of deal?” His smirk seemed to grow “I’m glad you asked now I’ll give you anything you like if you can get me the book your brother has.”
I knew this was a trick and if he got the book my safety and my family’s would be at risk.so I spoke up “No I’m good now please let me go.”
Bill seemed to not like my answer his grip tightened and his whole body started to turn light red “What do you mean no?” I breathed in and out ignoring my fear “ I mean I don’t want a deal with you.”
Bill frowned then his frown turned into a scowl he then started to raise his voice “YoU dOn’T GeT To SaY No!” I was shaking a little but stood my ground “No means No Bill.” He then started at me I felt nervous.
But then his red color started turning back to yellow and he smirked “Well I tried to be nice but there has to be some way to get you to do it..” I tugged on my wrist panicked and asked “What do you mean?” He kept his smug grin “ well I could just torture you till you break or I could go though your mind and find another way.”
I didn’t like the way that sounded I had a lot in my mind that was private. He seemed to be able to tell I didn’t like the idea and pulled me closer to him.
He then had a bright blue glow around our hands and I felt my mind to blank for a few seconds but as soon as s it came it was gone I felt dazed I shared my head just to see bill smirking at me.
I was confused what he found but jumped when I felt a hand squeeze my side..oh no..Bill smirked at me “ well what do we have here..wait no don’t tell me…your ticklish?” I didn’t answer him I just tugged in my wrist he just kept smirking “ such a silly thing to be tortured with but it might just work.”
Ali was really struggling now but he pushed me back with a force causing me to hit the wall but it didn’t hurt but as I was about to stand up I felt something cold on my ankles and on my wrist I looked and saw blue glowing Chadian attached to them.
I could still move them until mya rms were yanked above my head and attached to the wall while my ankles where attached to the wall by a short chian threat sadly wouldn’t go far.
Bill slowly walked towards me and crouched in front of me “One last chance you want my deal?” I didn’t answer,No I didn’t want to be tickle tortured but I can’t sail our my siblings!
So I stayed silent but I bit my lip when I felt a hand trail up my side slowly and the worst part was I was still in my pjs so my stomach along with my armpits were exposed.
I felt his hands run up and down my side slowly it tickled a lot but I refused to laugh. He then changed from slowly sliding his hand up and down to slightly fluttering his fingering up and down.
I started to squirm I really am ticklish but this is to embarrassing,he smirked at me but I refused to look into his eye “I’m barley touching you and your already squirming you must be Really ticklish..”
He started to speed up after saying that changing from fluttering to scratches I couldn’t hold it in and started to giggle “eheheheh” Bill seems satisfied to hear me let my laughter out.
Now that Inwas laughing he stopped and backed up I looked at him confused he seemed to notice my confusion “ Aww don’t be confused kid I just don’t feel like tickling you with my hands anymore.” I didn’t know what he meant by that until I saw some blue glowing hands appear there only two right now.
I stiffened dip he laughed at my reaction then decided to ask me “So where do you want these hands to attack you first?” I didn’t answer so he frowned then smirked again “ Find if you don’t wanna say I’ll decide I got got yours sides earlier but that doesn’t mean I’m done with them,so how about I add another pair.” He waved his hands and another pair appeared.
Bill didsnt say anything else I just watched though as one pair of hands moved to my sides while the other pair of hands moved to my neck one hand under my chin the other on the left side of my neck.
I was behind nevourse and couldn’t help but let out a few giggles “Ehehehhhe” Bill laughed at this “Your already laughing? I haven’t even stared yet!” He then leaned towards my face and moved towards my ear.
I could feel his breath on my ear “ Tickle…Tickle…TICKLE!” And with that the hands started and It was already too much The ones on my side were going fast wile the ones on my neck and jaw were soft and slow.
I couldn’t help but laugh “AhahahHhahahahhHhehe Bilehehel Stahahap!” He ignored me though and walked towards a chair in the corner of the room he sat down and leaned on his hand watching me.
it was beyond embarrassing but all I could do was laugh “Bill ehehehhaehEheheh Stahahaho Pleahahes!” I knew pleading wouldn’t do anything but it didn’t stop me.
Bill just looked at me and snicked even though he was farther away I could still hear him “Your begging won't gonna stop me from tickling you. But it's cute, so keep doing it.” I felt my face flush I hated this embarrassment.
I was destructed I didn’t notice when a new pair and hands appeared they moved to my underarms and started to softly dig there fingers in I threw my head back and laughed.
“AHAHAehehehAHAHAH STAHAHAP It EHEHE!” Bill didn’t care one bit he just listened to me laugh and watched me squirm Bill then asked again “ you ready to get me to book?” I shook my head no it may tickle like hell but I’m not a sell out.
Bill laughed “You must like this then if you know how to make it stop and you don’t.” I ignored him and just squirmed shaking my body left and right.
it didn’t help were ever I moved the hands followed,I guess bill decided he needed to speed the hands up so I all of a sudden felt the hands on my sides go even faster if that’s possible and the ones digging into my underarms started scribbling as fast as they could.
but the ones under my neck just went from light tickles to fats and harsh it didn’t hurt but it sure tickled a lot.Bill seemed to enjoy this because he just was laughing to himself in his chair.
“ I hope you know your gonna be here for a while….”
shit!

Mikey has been the DM for his Dungeons and Dragons group for ages. But that changes today; the local game store is holding an event, which means that he is finally going to get to play! The sorry sucker that's been assigned their DM, named Edgar, will have no idea what hit them.
---
And the other definitely not forgotten one @phantasycentral
"Are you excited?" Nathan asked as he walked down the street next to Mikey, holding his folder close to his chest.
"Am I excited," Mikey repeated in a mocking tone. "Of course I am! I've been stuck as you lot's dungeon master for five years now. Finally, I'll be able to be a player and join in your game ruining shenanigans!"
"Hey!" Caroline said. "We don't ruin any of the games."
"Yea," the other Nathan, or Nate as the gang tended to call him, added. "We enhance it!"
Mikey stopped in his walking to turn and look Nate in the eye. "You caused a black hole by sling-shotting a bag of holding into another bag of holding, ending the big bad instantly, and causing a TPK. On session four."
"Ok, but it's your fault we had two bags of holding," Nathan argued.
"It was not!" Mikey protested. "You guys are the ones who broke into the Grand Wizards Tower the second it was introduced, and then robbed him blind when he tried to stop you!"
"I mean," Caroline said, "You are the one who gave him two bags of holding."
"He made them!" Mikey was nearly yelling at this point. "He was the maker of like, all the enchanted items in the land, of course he'd have two bags of holding!"
"Still your fault," Nate said.
Mikey tugged at his hair. "This is exactly why I am so excited this event is happening. If I have to run one more game with you dunderheads as my party I'm going to lose my mind."
"I thought you already lost your mind when I made that Tabaxi?" Caroline asked, grinning deviously in a way that she only ever did around them. She was normally very self concious about her braces, but apparently bashing orcs heads in with a great axe made for great bonding experiences.
"Oh yea, that one that could run like, 300 feet in a turn!" Nathan said. "I remember that! You ran circles around that Dragonborn, literally!"
"I did!" she preened. "And I distinctly remember you saying that it was the final nail in the coffin of what was left of your sanity."
"I got it back," Mikey sniffed. "Because I'm just better like that."
"If you were than you wouldn't get so hung up on us just having some fun with your games," Nate said, elbowing Mikey in the side.
"Whatever," Mikey grumbled. "Hopefully, whoever is our DM for this event is someone really good, and our schedules will line up, and they can take the curse of Forever DM away from me."
"Well, we're about to find out," Nathan said, coming to a stop in front of the game store. "You all ready?" The group traded determined nods, and made their way into the building.
It was populated, but not full. A number of people were sitting at fold out table in the rear end of the store, just visible through the shelves of board games, RPG books, and fancy dice. A middle aged man stood behind the counter, helping a young woman buying a pack of Pokemon cards. He waved to the lot of them when they came in briefly, before returning to the transaction. They all hovered at the counter, waiting for him to be finished.
It didn't take long before the woman was happily on her way out, Pokemon cards in hand, and the man turned to the four of them. "Howdy folks!" he said, voice thick with a southern accent. "Y'all here for the D&D stuff I take it?"
"Uh, yea," Mikey said, shuffling his feet awkwardly. "We uh. We signed up online?"
"Yup, most did," he said. "My name's Chris, I run this place with my sister. Give me just a second to pull up the list and..." Chris clicked a few buttons on his computer. "Ok, it looks like you'll be playing with Edgar. He's the fella in the purple jacket, right back there." Chris nodded his head towards the back, where, just as described, a man sat at the head of one of the empty fold out tables, a DM screen in front of him and a play mat stretched out across the table.
"Ok," Mikey said. "Uh, thank you!" With that, he led the group the rest of the way into the game store. Edgar looked nice enough; he was on the paler side, with dark black hair and a well kept goatee. He had also set up the map pretty well, at least from Mikey's perspective; most of it was covered with papers, which he presumed would be removed while they explored. When the three of them approached the table, Edgar looked up and smiled at them.
"Aw yes, you must be my adventurers!" he said. "I'm Edgar, and I'll be the story writer for the evening. I assume you have all created characters for the evening?"
Mikey and the rest of the group gave a variety of affirmatives, as they all took their seats at the table. "Do you want to take a look at our character sheets before we get started?" Nathan asked, pulling the paper out and holding it out to Edgar.
Edgar waved the paper away. "There's no need. I'm sure I will become... properly acquainted with all of your characters by the end of this story. Now, are you all ready to start? I promise, it will be an adventure to die for."
Mikey caught Caroline's eyes from across the table. She looked nervous. They all did; none of them were exactly what would be described as sociable, outgoing people, so it was only natural that they'd all have some kind of social anxiety in this situation, but there was something off about Edgar. Something about the way that he spoke...
Mikey took a deep breath. His mom had been getting on his case lately, about needing to get out of his comfort zone more. She probably meant to start playing a sport or something, but this counted. Maybe Edgar was just as nervous and socially awkward as they were, and just had an odd way of saying it? "We're ready," Mikey said.
"Wonderful. Then let us begin."
---
Mikey couldn't say at what point during the exposition things started to get weird. Edgar was a very good storyteller, so for a while, it just seemed like he was painting a very vivid picture of the forest laid out before them, vivid enough that Mikey could see the towering trees and dappled sunlight on the ground. And then he could smell the clear, cool air, and hear the bird song and the wind rustling in the leaves, and feel the dirt on the ground beneath his leather boots, and Mikey was no longer just Mikey, he was Erdri, his dragonborn paladin.
"What..." Nathan, a half-elf cleric named Vaeril. "What happened? How are we..."
"Ok cool so I'm not just going crazy," Nate said. His spoke with a lisp, his half-orc tusks making the softer sounds of Common awkward.
"Not unless we all are," Caroline replied. Mikey almost missed her; she was a halfling rogue, which made her very, very easy to miss. "You don't think..."
"That I was a ghost?" It was Edgar's voice, coming from a squirrel in the trees. "If you didn't, you'd be wrong. You can call me Ghost Writer, and I've decided to play my hand at this new form of collaborative story telling. You will be my test group! How lucky you are."
Nate drew his great-axe from behind his back. "You let us go right now! You won't get away with this!"
"Oh, none of that," Ghost Writer replied. "If you won't play fair, than neither will I." Nate tripped and fell face first on the ground, the great-axe flying from his hand. "All you have to do is finish this adventure. That's what you agreed to do, is it not?"
"Not like this!" Nathan complained.
"Tomato, tomato," Ghost Writer said. "You agreed, and now you have to see the story to the end. Be careful! I'm not planning on going easy on you." The squirrel lost the imprint of Ghost Writer's features, returning to existence as a completely regular squirrel.
"We're gonna die," Caroline said, just above a whisper. "We're totally going to die!"
"No, we're not," Mikey said. The strength in his voice surprised him. "We're going to win."
"How can you say that?" Nate asked, brushing the dirt off of his face. "We've never done anything like this before!"
"Yes, we have! We've been playing Dungeons and Dragons for years. You all are experts at breaking a DM's story, and I know all the tips and tricks about DMing that there is to know. This "Ghost Writer" won't know what hit him."
"Ok," Nathan said, taking a deep breath. "Ok. I believe you. But why the hell do I believe you."
"I rolled like, an 18 in charisma."
"That'll do it."
"Onwards and upwards?" Nate held his hand out between the four of them.
One by one they all added their hands to the stack.
"Onwards and upwards!" They said the cheer unanimously, throwing their hands up in the air. Together, they made their way deeper into the forest, where adventure awaits.

I was looking throught some of my old art files (procrastinating lmao) and found this project I started back when Rift Apart came out
It definitely wasnt a way of self inserting myself into the plot or anything cough cough
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anyway I remember that the basic plot was something like this (this has ended up WAY longer than intended so sorry about that rip):
At the beginning, when Ratchet and Clank are falling through the broken rifts, one of them spits them out over a rural farm in [insert a country here] where a human is feeding the chickens in the evening. They see the rift and the figures falling through it, and run over to see whats going on.
"Ummmm,, are you okay?" They ask the aliens, although its seems like they either didnt hear them or were just ignoring them.
Ratchet, who had faceplanted the ground, peels himself up onto his hands and knees, still not noticing the human in front of him, groans, "Clank, buddy, you have any idea where we are?"
The little robot picks himself up and scans the area, seeing the human but paying them no mind past a quick glance, "We appear to have landed on a distant, primitive planet."
"Primitive?" The human exclaims, "that's a bit rude, isn't it?"
Hearing this other voice, Ratchet jumps up exitedly, "oh good, a native! Where's the nearest space port?"
The human looks confused, "space... port...?"
Ratchet and Clank look at each other, worried and annoyed, respectively. "As I said... Primitive." Clank muttered.
Before the human could refute this, sirens could be heard in the distance, growing closer.
Deciding to let go of their annoyance at the robot's comment, the human makes a split second decision. "Look, if you guys really are aliens, you'll need to hide somewhere. Those sirens are probably looking for you, and they won't be nice."
"Oh don't worry, we're used to running from the Law." Ratchet brags.
"Sure, just - we have a big barn round the corner, and a forest to the north, you can probably hide out there. I'll try to stall whoever comes here for as long as I can."
"Thanks, uh.. what's your name, by the way?"
They all exchanged names before the robot jumped onto the lombax's back and they ran off.
***
From this point I dont have a completely clear plot, just that it's the police and government who show up, the human denies any knowledge of what happened, claiming to have thought the rift opening was just lightning. The police then search the whole farm and part of the forest but dont find anything (not sure how - but r&c are stealthy so I'm sure theyll have thought of something. Plus the police are dumb and tend to half-ass things lol). After they all leave, the human goes to check on all the animals: the cows, sheep and chickens in the paddocks, and the horses in the stables. They check on the barn last, which is where r&c were hiding, giving the human a shock when they jump down from the rafters. They come to some sort of agreement that r&c can hide out there to build a new ship from scrap metal that the human takes from local tips and scrapyards. The government is on their backs constantly but somehow they manage to evade complete suspicion until the very last moments before the ship is finished. The human is taken by the government to be tortured for information, and r&c have to decide whether to leave straight away and avoid conflict, or whether to save their new friend and risk potential capture themselves (i think its obvious which option they'll take hehe). The cost of breaking the human out of the facility they're being kept in, is that they won't be able to live peacefully on earth anymore - the government would be able to find them no matter where they went, bc it would be a global effort since it has to do with aliens and such. So the human has to leave earth behind, and travels with r&c through the universe and more stable rifts, trying to get back to Kerwan. Since the ship is made of scraps, it eventually breaks down, thus flinging the three back to the start of the game, falling through rifts until they end up where they do.
I'm not sure if the human would end up with one of the two, or if they would end up elsewhere entirely. I literally only ever planned out the meeting and thought very briefly about how they would get off-planet. If anyone fancies picking this up, go ahead, just pls tag me bc I'd love to see it 🤠
(And dw, the farm animals would be taken care of by family/friends of the human; they'd have told their closest confidants at some point that they're hiding aliens from the government after acting suspiciously about all the scrap metal they suddenly have lmao)

ℂ𝕙𝕒𝕡𝕥𝕖𝕣 𝕥𝕙𝕚𝕣𝕥𝕖𝕖𝕟 - 𝔽𝕒𝕞𝕚𝕝𝕪 𝕍𝕚𝕕𝕖𝕠
When the next lesson was over, I made my way to the picnic area in the woods behind the school. When I arrived Eddie was not yet there. Alone in the forest was not something I found comfortable. It rustled sometimes here and sometimes there and I felt a little uncomfortable. I turned in all directions from which a rustling was to be heard, but Eddie was nowhere to be seen. Suddenly something behind me fell to the ground with a loud bang. Startled, I looked back and saw Eddie crouching on the floor, smiling at me.
"Did you seriously just come from up there?" I said, pointing up at the tree.
"You have the best view from up there!" he said cheerfully.
I threw my backpack on the ground and sat down on the table. Meanwhile, Eddie took off his jacket and put it next to me on the bench. I pulled my cigarettes out of my vest and lit one. My eyes went to him and I knew exactly what he wanted. Aiming at him, I threw him the pack and he didn't hesitate to take one, too. He came to me and forced himself between my legs. His hand brushed along my thigh and I felt a tingle inside. He blew his smoke into the air and brought his hands to my face to give me a kiss.
"Please don't light my hair with the embers." I said, squinting over to his hand.
"Don't worry, it's still far enough away." he laughed out.
"Why are we here anyway? I mean this is the last two hours, we might as well leave." I asked him.
"Good question. What was your little head thinking about?" he asked grinning broadly and tapping my forehead with his middle finger.
"I don't know, we could go to the arcade." I reasoned.
"Video games? You can't imagine how bad I am at that" he sighed.
"You'll have to prove it to me first, come on!" I jumped up and grabbed my backpack.
"But I'll drive my car myself." I said to him as I went ahead.
A bit annoyed, he grabbed his jacket, which he had taken off only a few minutes ago, and followed me back to the parking lot.
I drove ahead and he followed behind me. We both let the loud music blast from our cars and parked in front of the Palace Arcade. Since it was before noon, there weren't that many people here yet, because of course most of the kids didn't come until the afternoon. Eddie was really not thrilled with my idea, but I just pulled him in. First I went to the Pac-Man machine and made him a deal.
"Okay, I play first and when I'm dead then you. Whoever has more points gets to make a wish."
"Wish for what? Aye, what are your intentions, Sweetheart?" he said as he bent over me from behind to look at me, raising an eyebrow.
I grinned challengingly at him, flipped in a coin and started the game. I managed 3 levels in a row before the red ghost cost me my last life and a big GAME OVER popped up on the screen.
"Now it's your turn, top that!" I said, already confident of victory.
Eddie did some jumping jacks beforehand and stretched his muscles to make it more exciting and make me laugh. When he started the game I hugged him from behind and watched him from the side. Slowly I ran my hand a little under his tshirt and gently stroked his flat stomach.
"That's unfair what you're doing (Y/N)" he said laughing.
"I'm not doing anything!" I countered him.
"You're touching...it's distracting!"
I laid my head on his back and stroked my index finger just inside his waistband. That's when I heard the loud Game Over sound coming from the machine. Quick as a flash, Eddie turned to me and pushed me backwards against the wall.
"YOU..are so done later!" he threatened me jokingly.
"Why? Because I now have the first wish?" I just grinned cheekily back at him.
Eddie's smile became more mischievous and he considered. His thumb slipped over my lips while he pulled my chin higher with the remaining fingers to gently place his lips on mine. I tiptoed a little toward him to do so as well.
"Now, what is your first request, dearest?" he asked in the softest voice I had ever heard from him.
"I'd like snacks for tonight." I decided after long, countless minutes.
"Anything you want, sweetie." he said, nodding towards the Pac-Man machine.
"Round two? I'll get my wish this time!"
I put a new coin in the machine and started a new game. This time Eddie put his arms around me from behind and trolled me like I did him earlier. It was really very distracting. In addition, he tried to get at my neck and tickled me madly in the process. I lost my three lives in a very short time.
"Now it's my time to shine!" he said and pulled me away from the machine by my waist.
He tried really hard to concentrate and I let him fight back this time. For saying he was bad at it, he's been doing very well for a few minutes and at level five. Further than I had managed earlier. I leaned against the machine and watched him. His tongue licked excitedly over his lips and sometimes he bit them when it was close to escape the ghosts. I could still see the game in his brown eyes. His eyes excitedly followed the ghosts and the game piece. When he got a cherry, he was very happy. He beamed like a little child playing and it was refreshing to see him that way. When he felt safe for a moment, he would also squint at me from time to time.
"Ah shiiiiit.....fuuuuuuck, fuck, fuck, fuck!" he grumbled before the game over sound.
"Level 6, baby." he bragged, taking credit.
I stood there with my arms crossed, watching him celebrate his victory. Eddie walked up to me. He placed his hands on my hips and came closer to my ear.
"Now for my wish..the night shall be ours." he looked briefly at my face to check my reaction.
I noticed the blood rush to my cheeks. Red? I never blushed. But apparently, he is the first one who managed to embarrass me. What did I imagine when he said 'the night shall be ours'. A lot of hot images burst into my head and my heart beat faster. I didn't want to jump right in with my wish, either, but apparently he didn't mince words. Eddie looked at his wristwatch.
"Oh no, no, no, no! I forgot about Gareth, I should take him with me. Shit, gotta go, babe. See you later!" he said in a hurry and gave me a fleeting kiss on the cheek.
Eddie quickly ran to his van and drove off with squealing tires. I really hope he doesn't have an accident someday driving like that. I then went to my car as well. Just before I got in, I figured I might as well walk to Family Video. Fuming, I walked down the streets of Hawkins. Just outside the store, I flicked the butt on the ground and kicked it out. I walked in and was already graciously greeted by the staff, by one mainly.
"Heeeeey, and welcome to the Family Video, Steve is at your service today." the boy said and pointed with both thumbs at himself. He was about a head taller than me and had incredibly voluminous hair. I think I had seen him before in school, but wasn't sure.
"Hey, I think I can handle myself." I said, eyeing him up and down.
"Duuuuumped" the other employee whispered to him, who then just looked disappointedly at her.
I walked along the shelves looking for the horror section. It was further back in the store as usual. I went through the rows of movies and Steve appeared again, leaning against one of the shelves with his arms crossed.
"Horror fan, huh? But you can't watch something like that alone...so...maybe you need a strong shoulder I can offer you." he said casually but hesitantly.
I looked at him perplexed and had to stifle a laugh.
"I don't quite know if you've ever taken a good look at me, but I'm not a doll. I possess something like 'strong nerves'" I told him laughing.
"That wasn't a 'no' on your part yet, so? Do you need some company, maybe? " he asked, stroking his quiff.
He didn't let up either, though, and I found it amusing.
"Let's just say that if I didn't have a date tonight, you probably wouldn't be my first choice. I'm more into long hair, cute smile, rebellious, just not mommy's girl."
"Oh shit, you have a date with Billy? Don't tell him I asked you out..do me a favor will ya?" he said a little startled.
"What, no, with Eddie!" I said then.
"The freak?" he now said, a little taken aback.
"If that's what you want to call him, please. If you'd be so kind. I'd rather join my own kind then..the freaks." I said a bit miffed and grabbed the closest movie and walked over to the counter.
"Hi, ..Robin! " she said kindly.
"Steve isn't very good at making conversation with girls, don't hold it against him. Besides, he's having a bad day today." whispered Robin to me.
Robin took the VHS from me and looked at what I had pulled off the shelf. As she did so, her face contorted rather disgustedly.
"Uhg, are you sure you want to rent that one? It's really not good! Come on, let's go find a better one together." she said, and then she was standing next to me.
She pulled me by the arm back to the horror section and went through each cover with me.
"Do you want to see something you've already seen? But then you'd have to tell me what you've already seen so I can advise you better. Or do you want to see something you haven't seen yet, but then you'd have to tell me what you've seen so I know what to pick out for you? Have you asked your friend what he wants? Would he rather see something he's already seen? Or would he rather see something he hasn't seen yet? Do you know what he might have seen? How about this one, it's good. Or this one, that's good too. I don't really watch that many horror movies, you know? It scares me too much. But every girl likes romance and kitsch..." Robin never stopped talking and I wondered if she ever took a breath between her sentences. With absolute confusion I looked at her and was somewhat intimidated by her flow of speech. I had tried to say something in between, but she wouldn't let me get a word in edgewise.
"Steve? I think I broke your coworker!" I called to him, squinting past Robin's shoulder.
"Just let her talk... she'll stop eventually." he said from the counter.
"Okay, sorry for talking so much. I just get so excited all the time and I don't even know why this keeps happening. I like your style, it really suits you. What's your name anyway and have we met before? I'm not sure, but I think I saw you at school the other day. Are you new here? I don't think you've been here that long, have you? At least I would have noticed you before, because you are a bit more striking than others. Especially your beautiful (Y/H) curly hair would have caught my eye at school and..."
I interrupted her. That was a bit too much for me.
"Robin! Catch your breath damn it! Ok. So now take it easy. Yeah, I just moved here recently and I think I may have seen you walk by at school." I told her while holding her shoulder.
"Ah, then you probably don't know that many people yet. If you feel like it you are welcome to hang out with us. We are always open to new acquaintances who are older than 15." she said and laughed.
"I'd love to, but only if you try to calm down and Steve doesn't try to get me all the time."
"We'll make that work. I swear we're cool." Robin said, happily handing me the VHS she's been holding the whole time.
"Ah, Dance of the Devils. I've already seen it, but I'll take it anyway!" I told her and took the tape.
I walked with Robin towards the counter and Steve took the VHS.
"I still need your name and address to put you in our system."
"(Y/N) (Y/LN), Evergreen-Lane 22"
"Ah, so you moved into Mrs. Lone's house. I always felt a little sorry for her, she was alone for a long time. I used to mow her lawn from time to time, but she let it get rather wild later on." said Steve.
"I have absolutely no idea who lived there before, but the house is very nice in any case." I wanted to turn around and go, but:
"Are you going to the party tomorrow?" I asked.
"Sure the whole high school will be there. It's David's end-of-year party. You can't miss that!" said Robin.
"Then I'll probably see you there." so I also said goodbye to the two and left the store.
Phew, first take a breath in the fresh air. Robin really yaps a lot. I don't know if my nerves will hold out that long. But nevertheless I was happy that I had made new acquaintances right away.
I walked back to the arcade hall, which was a bit busier than before. I rummaged the key for my car out of my vest pocket and unlocked it. I threw the video cassette on the passenger seat and started the engine. This howled loudly and a few heads from the arcade turned to me outside. I searched still fast for which music cassette I pushed into the radio. I decided on Judas Priest and pushed the cassette in. The song Grinder was blasting out of the speakers and I rolled down the windows. I parked and drove away with a roaring engine in the direction of Gareth's house.

What remains after eternity
Plot boys
Ok, maybe this was a stupid idea. He could have taken Tink, but ne he wanted to just leave. He wasn't mad at what they were doing, cured a virus fixed a planet... ok, not fix by any standards for normal species, but these were Xeon, and well, they didn't excatly follow proper rules of life. It was nice for the first couple hundred years, but they died before they even started. He knows they would be fine, but he still missed them.... mostly him.
Now, he was barely ten years out, and he greatly miscalculated how much fuel he had. He ran out of food too, but it's not like he hasn't starved before that wasn't an issue. He sent out a signal to any passing ships, but this part of space wasn't exactly well traveled. He was bored, and he really hated being alone. He wouldn't be here for forever, but he didn't look forward to how long he would have to wait. It's funny that he can remember a time he used to isolate on purpose. Another lifetime another time.
The coms came to life due to running on solar energy because Izzy insisted it was important. "This is the pilot of the spaceship Aurora, Drumbot Brian. Do you need assistance?"
He opens his mouth to speak, but a rasp comes out. When was the last time he drank something? He normally helps remind him to be human. He settles on tapping out a sos hoping whoever this guy is knows it.
"Right, our mechanic, Nastya, will be bringing you on." Brian pauses. "Will you need assistance leaving?"
He tapped out a probably, and the feed cut.
.......
"Since when do we pick up strays?" Ashes sighs as the gate is closed, and it is safe to return to the hanger.
"Lost a bet against one of Jonny's brats." Nastya sighs. "Besides, it's something new while we travel, Marius's planet isn't excatly on a map that has been updated in eons."
"Fair point, but why are we going to get this guy out?" Ashes pulls the latch to this ship open.
"You were free, and Valerie and Trevor are still hunting that fucked creature. Brian is trying to get Thomas from taking control because he claims he knows the way Aurora thinks it's hilarious. Jonny is playing along with Mae's game, which is frankly terrifying he seemingly has eyes on the back of his head. Raphaella and Carmillia are taking notes on that. Lyf is well... he hasn't left the nest Byron built, and Byron is still standing guard, but he is building little machines that TS helps with. Ivy, Alex, and Janet are in a three-way chess match. Finally, Tim is in the gardens, taking a nap in the dirt."
"Ah." Ashes sighs. "Well fuck it let's get this guy."
Nastya nods and heads inside. The ship was small and barren. It looked like whoever was inside hasn't moved around in a long time. There was an eerie calm in the ship as they approached the captain quarters. "Oh fuck!"
There's a man lying in the captain chair. He was thin, too thin. His eyes were empty sockets as a black fluid lazily leaked from the sockets. His hair was spiked up and pitch black. His skin was incredibly pale, nearly white. He was tall, and his clothes hung off of him. His ears were pointed. He wheezed out a greeting.
Ashes curses. "He's fucking alive?"
"Just grab him and take him to the infirmary!" Nastys groans. "Fucking Jonny knows enough first aid to at least get him talking."
Ashes slings the man over their shoulder. "I'll start heating up, broth."
......
He opened his eyes again now in a cot. His head was tilted up as he was made to drink a broth. He grimaced and pushed away the soup. "I-i I'm fine." His voice was rough and quiet, barely a whisper.
"No, you ain't." A man responded, putting the bowl aside. The man looked familair.
"Do I... do I know you?" He grimaced and sat himself up. Staring at him, he could tell immediately he was New Texan. He looked like... he looked like him.
"I think I would remember a man with eyes that constantly leaked black fluid even when closed." He sighs. "The names Jonny, you're in Aurora in the infirmary."
"Lazarus." Laz sighs and lays back down. "I'm Lazarus, you can just call me Laz."
"Are you going to finish this broth, or am I going to have to force you?" Jonny scowls.
"I'll finish it." Laz sighs and lets Jonny feed him till it's finished. "Happy?"
Jonny sighs. "What did you do?"
"Not one of your kids." Ashes raised a brow.
"Oh, I know, there would have been more effort to pretend they were injured to see the stray." Jonny smiles. "What do you want, Ashes?"
Ashes snickers. "They are a bunch of yous. Nah, I just wanted to check in it is a part of my job, yaknow."
Jonny waves. "Yeah, yeah, whatever you say." He shakes his head. "What do you actually want?"
Ashes smirks. "We've got a bit of wager going on about the stray."
Jonny sighs. "I don't bet."
"I ain't asking you that." Ashes smirks. "What's his species?"
"I can answer myself." Laz huffs. "I'm human."
"Fuck!" Ashes huffs. "Tim won the fucking pot and he doesn't even know what that fucking means."
Jonny snickers. "Pretty fucked up for a human."
"Your comments are noted, and I don't care." Laz frowns.
Ashes smirks. "He'll fit in well."
"Who will fit in well?" Trevor walks in slightly singed.
"Who set you on fire?" Jonny sighs.
"I wasn't set on fire. That confectionery creature can set itself on fire. I just happened to be holding it before it escaped." Trevor rolls his eyes. "Totally different."
"Sure." Jonny shakes his head. "Sit."
Trevor huffs and heads to the empty cot. "It's not even that bad."
"Not that bad, you're still smoking." Jonny begins to clean the burns. "I told you to relax."
"Just because I'm aging doesn't mean I can't help." Trevor frowns. "Dad, I'm fine it's just the process. It's slowed, but it's been two and a half centuries it catches up with us, and then we revert and start all over again." He lightly headbutts his father.
"Just let me adjust to this, you little shit." Jonny sighs. "I know how this works. Each of you explained it in great detail multiple times. I'm allowed to fucking worry."
"Fine, fine." Trevor smiles.
Ashes raised a brow, looking at Laz.
"You're letting that guy baby you?" Laz snickers.
"You're the fucking stray!" Trevor huffs. "Dad shoot him."
"Wait.... wait." Laz sits up. "You're Jonny D'ville?"
Jonny raised a brow, turning to face Laz. "Yeah and?"
"I take back my previous statement." Laz pauses. "I also would like to apologize for my previous comment."
"Who is he?" Jonny looks back to Trevor.
"Lazarus, he's part of our crew, and by the looks of it, he went on his own and forgot to bring food and / or fuel, probably both. Unfortunately, he has the habit of forgetting what he needs to function properly in depressed hazes." Trevor sighs. "How long have you been floating?"
"Decade, probably." Laz sighs. "The others are busy, wanted to find you guys. They would have collected me when they were done."
"He's lying it's been more than a decade." Trevor frowns. "But the others would have picked him up, Izzy always has trackers on the small ships. He obviously didn't take the one Aiden packed for this situation."
"He's done this before?" Ashes raised a brow.
"Yeah, when he thinks the others are taking too long to pick us up. It's really fucking stupid." Trevor sighs.
"I miss you guys." Laz huffs.
"Which isn't a lie per say, but he mostly means Thomas." Trevor frowns again. "Did you give him something? I can make some more broth."
Jonny ruffles Trevor's hair. "Yes, I gave him some broth. You can stay and chat. I'll tell your siblings."
Trevor shifted and frowns. "Actually, could you stay a bit? Laz never heard you tell a story that isn't a recording."
"You brat if you want me to tell you a story you could just ask." Jonny hops up on the cot next to Trevor. "You both better listen."
Laz smiled, but he was already drifting off to sleep.
Ashes smiles softly and quietly slips out of the infirmary. Maybe they were getting attached to this softer, Jonny. His kids were a great bonus, too.
.......
"Hey, kid." Ashes raised a brow at Thomas, who was nodding off in the pilot seat, and Brian was napping curled up under his feet.
Thomas has silver through his dark brown hair. His horns were freshly cut to halfway, nowhere near as short as Jonny used to keep them. He was in a similar outfit to what Jonny used to wear except with no belts. Age was showing on his features, but he was happy. "Yes?" He cracks open one eye. "Thought you were going to annoy dad and the stray."
"You lost the bet." Ashes hums.
"A shame." Thomas tosses a golden tooth at them who catches it. "What? You didn't come all the way here to tell me that. Is dad freaking out again?"
"You all have his intuition." Ashes chuckles. "No, but your brother got himself set on fire and got him in a worry."
Thomas snorts. "I warned him that creature can catch fire." He hops off the seat and pets Brian. "Ooo, how much hair did he lose?"
"That's for you to see." Ashes smiles. However smart, his kids were leaving out some part of the truth was enough to get them going along. They were happy to see that they didn't have Jonny's paranoia and distrust. Fuck Jonny was a good dad and they never saw that coming. They were proud of him.
Thomas picked up his cane, keeping it to his side. He doesn't use it much yet, but he will. "I'll be back for my seat, Brian."
Brian lets out a soft growl and curls up tighter.
Ashes watches him go and walks next to Brian. "Did you give up your job to be a lap dog?"
Brian glares at them and shifts back. "No, but he unfortunately does know where to find Byron's planet. That's where his old crew was heading before they were taken back to New Texas. They normally don't get sent back there when it happens, but they were looking for a break." He sighs. "He's also a better navigator than I realized."
Ashes shakes their head. "All of you are getting soft."
"I think it comes from age. I can say the same about you." Brian smiles.
"I suppose you can." Ashes smiles. "However, I will never admit that."
Brian nods. "However, Jonny said we should be doing a show soon, and by show, he means causing complete chaos on a random planet after we spend time on Byron's planet."
Ashes grins. "That sounds amazing."
........
"I heard some idiot got set on fire." Thomas snickers.
"I didn't get set on fire asshole." Trevor huffs.
"Boys, you're arguing semantics at this point." Jonny sighs. "How's your leg, Thomas?"
Thomas steps in. "Fine so far, but it's still early. So, who's the stray?"
"It's Laz." Trevor sighs. "He's asleep, though."
"Lazarus?" Thomas slowly walks in by his bed. "How long this time?"
"He claims a decade." Trevor pulls up his blanket. "I don't think he's being honest. You know how much he keeps in his little portals."
Thomas frowns.
Jonny puts a hand on his son's shoulder. "Relax, he's just asleep. I'm sure you can chew him out once he wakes up."
Thomas sighs out a laugh. "Thanks, dad."
"He's also not allowed to meet Tim, not until he can walk. Trust me, he's being a bit off the rails still figuring out his forms. We still haven't seen all of them, and he's grown attached to his cactus one." Jonny pauses in the doorway. "Can't wait to actually have a proper talk to your partner."
Thomas covers his face as he blushes. "Daddddd." Thomas whines.
Trevor laughs.
"Have fun, boys." Jonny snickers leaving.
.......
"Human?" Tim points.
Trevor and Thomas scream in shock.
"How the fuck do you even do that?!" Trevor holds his chest.
Laz furrows his brows and wakes up from the screaming. "What?"
"Human." Tim points quite close to Lazarus's face.
"Yes?" Laz rubs his eyes, making a mess of the black substance.
Tim nods and stands next to Laz on the bed. He tilts his head, seemingly studying Laz.
"Who are you?" Laz sits himself up.
Tim points at Laz again. "Priest." He starts to whistle and walk away.
"I keep telling dad to put a bell on him." Thomas covers his face and groans.
"I think he tried." Trevor sighs. "You ok, Laz?"
"Seriously who the fuck was that? How the fuck... how." Laz swallows.
"How what?" Thomas raised his brow.
"I..." Laz frowns. "He knew what I was before this."
"A priest?" Trevor looked confused. "Never took you for the type."
"Human priests are extremely different to whatever you have on New Texas." Laz narrows his gaze.
"He didn't say they were the same." Thomas sighs. "How are you feeling?"
"Hungry." Laz sighs. "And really weirded out, neither of you answered my question."
"That is Gunpowder Tim, currently just Tim as his mind is still recovering." Thomas frowns. "Careful around him. He's very hard to predict."
"It's really depressing." Trevor hums. "Humans are quite cruel creatures."
"I'm well aware of that." Laz sighs. "Where did your dad go?"
Thomas and Trevor shrug.
Laz frowns. "Who else is here?"
"The mechanisms, and us oh and our grandmother Valerie." Trevor pauses. "And the ship Aurora of course."
Aurora chirps. "There is broth in cabinet in a thermos, Jonny left in there."
Thomas nods and grabs it. "Thank you."
"Does she turn off the air like Hal?" Lazarus takes the thermos. "Thank you."
"I can not due to the garden and Tim's plants." Aurora hums. "Alex and Janet asked me the same questions. Dies Hal enjoy turning off the air?"
"No, but he does it every fight he has with Izzy." Thomas sighs. "It's annoying, but ultimately harmless since Izzy built us masks to let us continue to breathe."
"Thomas, come here." Lazarus makes grabby hands. "Help me eat."
"And that's my cue to leave." Trevor sighs and gets out of his cot. "Want me to tell everyone else?"
Laz huffs. "Thomas!"
Thomas sits next to Laz on his cot. "Might as well. He's still out of it. Just let them know he's still in starvation mind."
Laz wraps his arms around Thomas. "You know you're very warm."
Trevor nods. "Of course, I'll let dad know to make more broth."
"Thanks." Thomas holds up the thermos. "Time to eat old one."
Laz smiles and rests against Thomas.
........
The bright green liquid is plunged into Byron's arm. "Ok, that should kick in soon. Let me know if you feel wrong." Raphaella smiles
Byron was speaking broken common. His language did not translate well. "Last one?" He rubs his arm.
"For now, the virus is tricky it adapts and changes. You're healing just nice excatly linearly." Raphaella frowns. "Have you been keeping that journal?"
"Ah yes!" Byron nods. "I do not know when I will change like you have described. I hope my journals will help."
Raphealla smiles softly. "Come on, I'm sure the stray wants some company. Heard it's one of the kids' crew. You need a safe place to rest as this starts to take effect."
Byron nods and sways on his feet as he hits the ground. Raphaella quickly helps Byron up. "Thank thank you."
"Come on, this is much faster than I realized." Raphaella had a look of concern Byron couldn't see as he continued to stumble. She picked him up as he collapsed. "Fuck, Lyf is going to kill me."
......
Lyf barely has time to put the journals down next to Byron's sleeping form before he was throwing up in a trashcan.
Janet was rubbing his back. "I told you I can handle this. I can explain his questions."
Lyf rubs his mouth. "It's fine, just some nausea. I'll probably enter another period of nothing happening soon enough." He groans. "Second thought I'm going to the bathroom." He runs out of the infirmary.
Raphealla frowns. "Can't fix it, you know how that went."
Janet shudders. "I would really rather not."
A soft groan from the bed alerted the two. Marius takes a breath and rubs his face. He blinks and looks around, confused. "When did..." He stares at Raphaella. "When did we get back on Aurora? Did I miss the train?"
Raphealla takes a moment. "Marius, what do you mean?"
"The train, Yog Sogoth, we're supposed to be in the prison cell. There's a new..." Marius furrows his brows as his hand goes through his hair, and he feels the small horns. "Now that can't be right." Hd sticks his fingers in his mouth, and his features pale a bit more. He quickly touches his shoulders, feeling the bone spurs. He does a double take staring at his arm, seeing the mechanism spread above his elbow like an infection he could see his flesh between the metal. "...what happened?"
Raphealla frowns, motioning to Janet to warn Lyf. She takes a breath. "The journals next to you will help, but you're not going to like it."
"What happened, Raph? Just tell me." Marius hugs his chest. "What happened to me?"
Raphealla sighs and sits next to Marius. "Short explanation a bioweapon virus made to effect your species and planet. You got infected, and we've been trying to cure it. Each stage of healing you either forget or just play violin till you get a form of lucidity. Thankfully, this time, we skipped the violin." She frowns. "Aurora, the timeline, please."
"Of course." Aurora displays a timeline.
"See, starting here, Nastya found you on your homeworld. We're actually traveling there now to figure out a better way for the cure. The virus is adapting to my attacks. You were in the violin mode for a long time with shirt bursts of lucidity. Next, you were lucid for 200 years, although still missing a lot of time. Then, in New Texas, you went back to violin mode, until Tim had his meltdown and you reformed with the rest of us and went back to before your mechanism or Byron era for the last 275 years. Currently, you're back, but before the bifrost incident, before.... well, do you know who Lyfrassir Edda is?"
Marius frowns, trying to take that all in. "That's the new inspector, we were supposed to meet him today..."
Raphealla thins her lips. "Oh..."
Lyf steps out, sipping on some water. "What is it you wanted to tell me."
"Um...." Janet pauses. "Yeah, this is bad."
"You didn't tell him?" Raphaella rubs her face.
Lyf raised a brow as he walked past the two to Marius's side. "Byron?"
Marius tilted his head. "You're my mate?"
Lyf takes a deep breath. "Do you know who I am?"
"I should. We're bonded." Marius rubs his temples. "Who are you?"
"Former second class inspector Lyfrassir Edda." Lyf smiles softly. "You can call me Lyf."
"I mated with a mortal?" Marius looks scared.
Lyf shakes his head. "Unfortunately, Yog Sogoth decided otherwise, and I'm not allowed to age or die. You're going to be stuck with me till the end of time."
Marius seems to relax if only slightly. "How?"
"You blamed the heat on your hair." Lyf chuckles watching Marius's hair curl into little hearts. "I think it was getting annoyed with you."
"I..." Marius swallows. "I don't... you're not a xeon."
"No, I'm not. I'm an asguardian, maybe a little jouton in my blood, but I don't really care about that. it just makes my skin blue and gives me my tail." Lyf burps and grimaces. "However, this adapting process is awful, and I will blame you for every hurdle."
Marius shyly smiles. "You're not dead."
"I am not. You're a doctor. You should know how to tell that." Lyf smirks.
"Then I should do a full examination." Marius reaches out and tilts Lyf's head. "Although we shouldn't have a through exam out in the open. I should memorize my mates body."
Lyf lights up in a rainbow static blush. "I almost forgot how insufferable you were, you flirt." He bites his lip. "I suppose I could make room in my schedule, Doctor Byron."
Marius swallows. "Say that again."
"Doctor Byron Marius Von Raum." Lyf smiles.
"How about you both get a fucking room?" Ashes pinches their brow. "Fuck this shit where the fuck did the stray go?"
Janet blinks. "Oh Thomas's room."
"Fuck thank you." Ashes groans leaving the infirmary.
Lyf groans, covering his face. "Forgot we had an audience."
"Awww, the inspector is shy." Marius chuckles.
"You know what I lied, go fuck yourself Von Raum." Lyf huffs and walks out.
Marius chuckles softly.
Raphealla smiles. "Go read your journals."
"As you wish." Marius lays back down and pulls one of the journals. "Never thought I would ever share my heat. I'm actually more surprised I didn't kill him."
Raphealla pauses, looking at Janet. "So if it's not consensual, they really fight to the death?"
"Mmh yeah and eat the loser." Janet shrugs. "But obviously, his body knew better."
"I have so many questions." Raphaella rubs her face.
........
To Marius, it's been ages since he has even seen his native language written, let alone heard it be spoken. He knew Lyf wasn't truly speaking it, but because of the heat bond, that's what he will forever hear from his partner. These journals were his he knew his own handwriting. He knew the language which was written, and he knew nobody else on the ship could write, let alone speak his tongue.
He waited for Raphaella and that woman, Janet, he thinks that was her name to leave before he actually started to read. It was odd that he didn't recall any of this. He wanted to hear his language again on his lips, and he took a breath and began to reas aloud.
"I was told to start journaling since I and they don't know how long I will be lucid for. Lyfrassir has been wonderful, I am still shaking from our heat together. He's been quite patient with me, I know I am not the same man he fell in love with, but that doesn't deter him at all. I learn new things every day. I still don't understand everyone, but I'm trying to learn this common. It doesn't really translate well."
"I haven't told Lyf about my changes yet. I don't need him worrying about me. He has his own changes to get through. He's been enjoying the nest I made for him, Janet got me the supplies. I still can't believe the immortal claims, but he is insistent. He tells me all these lovely tales from his home. He asks if I play an instrument, and I do. He likes my playing even if it's not great. He asks me to sing, but I can't. He still asks, though."
"Today Lyf was -" Marius stops as someone clears their throat. "Inspector?"
Lyf smiles. "Sorry to interrupt, but I brought some sweet breads. You once told me these are your favorites."
"They are." Marius shuts the journal and places it back on the pile. "How long has this been us?"
"The heat bond or us together?" Lyf cuts Marius a slice than himself a slice as he sits next to Marius. "Us? I can't remember. The heat bond I am uncomfortably aware of it down to the second is that normal?"
Marius chuckles. "Yes, that is normal." He holds the plate and frowns. "How long have I been sick?"
"I don't know." Lyf frowns. "None of us know how long you were stranded on a dead planet. I can tell you how long it was for the others er no Tim isn't all there so we can't get a straight answer from him. I.... wait, you don't know what happened." He pauses poking at his sweet bread. "Do you want to know?"
"Yes." Marius takes a breath. "Just tell me, please."
Lyf nods and takes away his plate and puts it aside. "You won't want to eat during this."
"I've been though a lot that is quite a high bar." Marius raised a brow.
"Trust me." Lyf sighs as he begins.
Marius swallows as he refuses the plate. "You can tell me about Jonny later. You're right." He hugs his knees. "How do I go back to being not lucid or to another me with memories. I don't... I can't just play along."
"Nobody is asking you to." Lyf leans on Marius. "At most, you have to let Tim hold your tail. Also, don't play with his dial even if he tries to get you to. No, that isn't a sex thing it's an actual dial around his neck. Oh shit wait the other people here. Jonny's kids are here. The gods won't let them die, and they are all little shits just like Jonny. Janet is one of them. Jonny's mother is also here she is terrifying and don't fuck with her or try to fuck her. Seriously, there is a line."
"Oh the god killer Valerie, I am familair with her." Marius frowns. "Who let Jonny reproduce?"
"Wait, stop shut up." Lyf grabs Marius's shoulders. "What the fuck do you mean the god killer? I know she exists, but Valerie can not be the god killer."
"There was a wanted poster in the jail we were kept in. Did you not see it? I also met her a few times traveling on my own. We never talked she always killed me. She's probably a god herself on account of the fact she can't die." Marius raised a brow. "Why are you looking at me like that?"
"First, no, she has a mechanism like Jonny. Both have a mechanized heart. Second how the fuck did you know she was Jonny's mother?" Lyf blinks stunned.
"They smell like each other. I'm sorry she's a mechanism?" Marius looks confused.
"Yeah and Carmillia is trying to fuck her. Not important, you can smell that they are related?" Lyf rubs his face.
"Yes, and now that you mention it, Janet does smell like Jonny, so that makes sense on Jonny having kids." Marius crossed his arms. "New Texans are hermaphroditic species. Did Jonny have them himself, or did he have a partner?"
"He had them himself." Lyf raised a brow. "If you ask me if Jonny had a consistent partner, the answer is no, they all have different sperms donors. Tim is not the father of any of them."
"Well, I know that she didn't smell like Tim." Marius huffs. "I'm not an idiot."
Lyf pinches his brow. "Fine, Mr. I know everything but his own memories" why the fuck am I craving teeth?"
"Your body is changing, and I can give you mine they will grow back." Madius smiles. "I wouldn't want you to go hungry, my mate."
"You're fucking impossible." Lyf crawls into Marius's lap. "I hate you and your romance, Von Raum."
"And what would you have me say? Go ask TS for its collection of teeth? I rather you be safe and take mine." Marius smirks. "I would let you eat me whole until you're satisfied if it pleased you."
Lyf hides his face in Marius's chest. "Stop you manic. I'm literally going to have to fuck to if you keep this up."
"I suppose that can be arranged." Marius kissed the top of Lyf's head. He crossed his legs as his face lights up a mix of red and purple. "I seem to have underestimated how powerful my instincts are influencing my hormones. I know we shared my heat, and we are mates, but I really don't know you."
"Well..." Lyf looks Marius in the eyes. "I'm Lyfrassir Edda, and I'm from Asguard. I enjoy mead and baking. I'm not that good of a shot with a gun, I have powers of Yog Sogoth, which I'm still trying to learn how to control. I'm absolutely awful at cards, and I like to write poetry."
Marius sighs but smiles. "That isn't what I meant."
"Well, I guess I just have to keep being by your side till I can figure out what you meant. You're not going to scare me off." Lyf hugs Marius tight. "Is this too much?"
Marius shakes his head. "N-no, just go slow. I don't know what happened or how to handle a post heat. Can I trust you not to take advantage? My instincts and hormones are fighting against my lucid mind."
"I will go at whatever speed you need. Is the light system good? Green for good, yellow slow down and red is a hard stop." Lyf smiles when Marius nods. "How are you now with me in your lap?"
"Green." Marius takes a breath. "Green, just don't grind or kiss me."
Lyf smiles and nods. "Of course, but I need to leave."
Marius raised a brow.
"Marius, if I don't make it to a trash, can I am going to empty my stomach all over you." Lyf was growing pale.
Marius nodded and helped push Lyf off his lap to vomit in the nearby trash can. "Are you ok?"
Lyf coughs and groans. "Not really, your heat infected me and my body is still fucking changing."
"It tends to take a long time to adjust. For myself and you, since we are different species." Marius gives a nervous smile. "Shall I help you to our nest?"
"You don't want a separate room?" Lyf raised a brow as he stood back up.
"That really wouldn't be wise." Marius grimaced and didn't elaborate. He collects the journals. "Show me to our nest."
Lyf nods. "Ok, I will." He says, collecting the baked good.
.......
"Thomas?" Laz's voice was stronger, and he was getting dressed with the clothes laid out.
"Yes?" Thomas hums softly. He was dusting off the excess sand before he got dressed.
"We're on Aurora." Laz gets up and cracks his back.
"Are you finally out of starvation mode?" Thomas pokes his head in pulling on underwear.
Laz huffs. "I would roll my eyes, but I don't have them to roll, but we are on your father's ship."
"That we are." Thomas walks out in just his underwear. "Do you have a problem?"
"No, I just the way you guys talked about everything." Laz crossed his arms. "I don't know." He sighs. "Did you tell them I wouldn't remember because of the state I was in?"
"Yes, I did." Thomas pauses, grabbing a pair of pants. "Actually, I have to ask about something."
"Ask me about what?" Laz raised a brow looking at Thomas.
"Tim came by because I brought you to my room, er Gunpowder Tim, but he isn't all there mentally as he is recovering, but I'm getting off track. He called you a priest." Thomas turns to face Laz, who looks a mixed of concerned and shock.
Laz blinks. "How did he know?"
Thomas shrugs. "None of us really know how his mind works or how it's healing. He is kind, but I don't think he can remember how to be violent. Well, not on purpose." He finishes getting dressed pulling a shirt over his horns. "Tell me what you find when you look in his head."
"I will." Laz smiles softly. "Well, I'm looking forward to properly meeting your father and his crew." He takes Thomas's hand. "Shall we head out?"
"We shall." Thomas pulls him along.
......
"Oh gods, fuck." Lyf nearly bites his tongue.
Laz frowns. "Sorry."
Lyf spins to face Laz. "Oh not you, him." He points to Tim, who Laz just notices.
"Fuck!" Laz grabs his chest. "How do you just appear? Are you an acolyte? Which god?"
Tim tilts his head. "Human!" He points at Laz.
"Right, yeah, I am human. Didn't answer my question." Laz raised a brow.
"The gods abandoned me." Tim smiles.
"Um...." Laz pauses as Jonny comes into the room.
"Tim, stop scaring the newbie." Jonny doesn't even flinch when Tim grabs his tail. "I got us breakfast come on."
"Jonny." Tim kisses Jonny's forehead.
Jonny smiles, then huffs. "No hugs I'm going to drop the fucking food you brat." He quickly puts the plates down as Tim pushed him to the floor to cuddle. "We are not fucking napping. I want my breakfast."
Thomas sighs. "Good morning."
Tim gets back up with prodding and sits next to Jonny, who shoves a plate in front of him, which he makes no move to eat.
"Is he not eating again?" Mae frowns from an opposite table. "Oh, welcome back to sanity, Laz."
"Right." Laz raised a brow. "Are you sure he's ok?" He groans as Thomas elbows him.
"That's Tim. He's recovering." Thomas huffs.
"He would recover faster if he fucking ate." Jonny growls.
"Maybe it has to do with whatever setting he's on." Alex pokes her head between the two.
"No fucking around in the mess hall!" Ashes growls from their spot.
Laz smiles softly, sitting next to Lyf. "So your Yog Sogoth acolyte." He pauses. "Why are you eating teeth in um milk?"
Lyf narrows his gaze. "Ask that fucker."
Marius is unaware sitting at a different table.
"Right, so it's not because of Yog Sogoth?" Laz smiles as Thomas hands him a plate of food. "Thank you."
"No?" Lyf pauses, raising a brow at Laz. "Does your god make you eat teeth?"
"No." Laz hums. "Wait, does cannibalism count?"
"Yes." Jonny says, trying to feed Tim, who keeps pushing his hands away. "You need to eat."
Thomas sighs, swallowing his bite. "I forget you're a cannibal dad."
Laz chokes on his drink. "Excuse me?"
"Both of you finish your food." Jonny sighs. "Fuck it, come on Tim were changing that fucking dial to get you to eat something." He gets up after finishing inhaling his food and drags Tim to the training room.
"I'm sorry a cannibal?" Laz blinks.
"Did you like not listen to any of the tales we told you?" Thomas rolls his eyes. "Also, who's teeth are those?"
Lyf swallows. "Marius's, but I think TS put some of its collection in here as well."
"Ah." Thomas hums. "Honestly, I didn't think you would have an answer."
"Still more sane than Tink." Laz frowns. "I think I might pay Tim a visit later."
Lyf raised a brow.
Laz smirks. "You'll figure it out."
.......
"Alone today?" Jonny crossed his arms.
"Laz is trying to corner Tim to talk. It's not exactly going well, and I don't want to watch him get impaled again."
Jonny snorts and puts his book down. "Come here, come sit by your no good father."
Thomas shakes his head and sits next to his dad. "I think you're pretty great."
"What do you want, brat?" Jonny smiles as Thomas leans on him.
"Do you like Lazarus?" Thomas sighs.
Jonny crossed his arms. "Thomas, it doesn't matter if I like him." He rolls his eyes. "He's interesting, but I don't know him well enough to truly judge him. However he's a fucking idiot for trying to corner Tim."
"Why? Tim doesn't mind it when we corner him." Thomas frowns and furrows his brows.
"Because Tim views you as his children even if you aren't. He's in there, but he can't make proper sense of his surroundings or what he's told yet. Laz is a stranger and human." Jonny sighs. "He hasn't excatly been around any humans expect the ones who hurt him."
"I guess." Thomas sits upright. "I want to help him more, but that's Izzy's thing. She is the one who just wants to help and has the mind to do just that. I want you to meet the rest of the crew, but I don't even know if they would still be at the Xeon planet by the time we get there."
"Why were you heading there anyway?" Jonny gently headbutts his son.
Thomas chuckles. "Janet won our little hat trick, so she got to pick our next adventure. She wanted to go there and help the planet recover to xeon standard of living, which meant figuring out what went so wrong. Now we know about the virus, but we didn't know back then. Izzy was excited she never got to work with xeon before, and Aiden was relieved we weren't doing anything stupid. Tink was annoyed, but she always is when she doesn't win."
"You guys never made it." Jonny frowns.
Thomas shrugs. "We're going now. I just hope they're still there."
"Well, I'm sure they will be." Jonny gets up and holds out his hand. "Come on, we have to find your man before Tim rips him apart."
Thomas takes his father's hand. "Yeah, yeah."
.......
"This isn't the worst mind I've been in." Laz hums. He looks around the lab that seems to have gray rock in the walls. There was a faint scent of dust and bleach. "Now, where are you?"
The cell lie empty save for a few bloodstained and a worn mat. "You shouldn't be here." A small boy with bright blue eyes and shirt brown hair stares up at Laz.
"Has your mind split? Let me guess you're his childhood self." Laz curses when a knife goes through his thigh. "Fuck."
"You are wrong." The boy scowls, pulling his knife back.
"You didn't have to fucking stab me." Laz grimaced as the wound closes. "Then what are you?"
"I...." The boy frowns. "I don't know. This is my mind, and I woke up in there." He points to the cage. "I don't think I'm supposed to be small."
Laz hasn't encountered something like this before. It was concerning. "Do you know what happened?"
The kid frowns. "A lot of bad things."
"What's your name?" Laz crouched down by the child.
"Gunpowder Tim. I'm supposed to be him. I don't know how I'm supposed to fix that." Tim frowns. "I'm really hurt. I want to get better. I don't know how."
"Time and rest, unfortunately, for these types of injuries. However, this is a first never seen a mind revert this far back to recover." Laz picks up Tim. "Come on, let's find a nice soft bed to recover in."
Tim blinks and holds on tight. "I don't think there is one. What's your name? You aren't Scratch."
"I am not, but you can call me Lazarus." Laz smiles.
"That's not your name." Tim frowns.
"And why do you know that?" Laz raised a brow as he meandered down the halls.
"You wear a cross. You picked Lazarus on purpose. It's worn and reforged, so you've had it for a long time, probably as long as you've been around or infected as you put it." Tim's blue eyes stare deep into Lazarus's pits of eyes.
"And you've also lost your faith." Laz frowns as they make it to a makeshift cot. It's military grade, but it's the closest thing he has for a bed besides the bloody cot.
Tim curls up when placed on the cot. "What's the use in faith when the gods abandoned you no matter how hard to pray." He pulls the blanket over him.
Laz sits on the floor. "I used to be a priest. That didn't save me."
"Faith never saved anyone." Tim says before his breathing evens out, and he's asleep.
"Maybe we would have been friends once upon a time, kid." Laz smiles and vanishes.
.......
Tim is curled up tightly around Laz.
Laz sighs. "Do you know how to get him off? I clearly underestimated how strong the man is."
Thomas snickers.
Jonny sighs. "Tim, come on, we have a bed to nap in."
Tim is quiet his breathing is slow and steady.
"Yeah, that isn't going to work." Laz huffs. "Thomas stop fucking laughing or I'm going to break your cane."
Thomas giggles and takes a breath. "Kind of hard to do that when you're pinned to the floor. Enjoy bonding to your father in law."
"Go fuck yourself." Laz growls.
"Fuck me yourself coward." Thomas smirks.
"Your father is literally right there." Laz shimmies his arm out to just point.
"And I'm a slut why would that bother me?" Jonny snickers. "You got a shy one."
"He's human. What do you expect?" Thomas smiles, leaning on his cane.
Laz huffs. "My species has nothing to do with this!"

Devil's Deal
Day 22 of the BG3 Fic February Challenge
Today's a long one (which is why it's late). If you've been keeping up with my fics, then you'll know that Invi's name is not actually her name. It's a name she created in a pinch after waking up on the ravaged beach. After witnessing at least one successful deal with Raphael, however, she begins to wonder if he might be able to help her out...
Also, once the month is over, I'm going to rearrange my masterlist so you can read each Tav's fics in order of events that happen in the game, so you can go from fic to fic more like a cohesive story than a bunch of different scenes.
Check out my masterlist of BG3 fics!

22. Tav/Durge has to give up something (anything) important to them

Invi paced the spare room in Last Light Inn, restless. The shadow-cursed lands and Moonrise had proven enlightening for many of them, but it had left Invi with far more questions than answers. People inside Moonrise recognized her, while she had no concept of who any of them were. Ketheric had treated her as though she’d been a mad dog formerly in his service, yet she had no memory of ever meeting him. She clearly had been here before, but her memory remained one yawning, dark chasm in her mind.
And then there was her butler. Sceleritas Fel. No one else had a butler, but then again, no one else was fighting with urges in their head urging them to kill and maim and slaughter. These days it took all of Invi’s energy to resist. She’d very nearly killed Astarion one night, and even then details of that night were hazy because the urge had taken over. Her butler had been very disappointed in her failure to kill him, and her failure to kill Isobel, the kind Selûnite cleric at Last Light. It was getting harder and harder to resist.
She could make sense of none of it and her butler refused to be forthcoming with details of her past. Who was she, that she had been to these shadow-cursed lands before, that she was someone who had done such horrible things in her past? If she could only have one memory restored…
But then, that’s why she had invited Raphael back to Last Light. After resolving his deal with Astarion, killing the orthon Yurgir in exchange for Raphael translating the scars on Astarion’s back, Invi had asked him to return another night.
She had another deal to make.
She wasn’t alone in the room, at least. Astarion reclined on the bed, watching her pace restlessly, his scarlet gaze following her from one side of the room to the other. When she turned to pace back to where she’d begun, he heaved a sigh.
“My dear, wearing a hole in the floorboards won’t get him here any faster.”
“I know that,” she said. “I just wish he would hurry up instead of playing these games.”
She stopped pacing, her hand absently fiddling with her pendant, as it often did. She ran her thumb over the letters on one side. N.V. The initials she had used to create her name. The letters that had formed the first part of her new identity. She still had no idea what those initials stood for, or even if they belonged to her. Was this pendant a trinket that she’d taken off the body of one of her victims? Did it belong to someone she had known before? She had no way of knowing.
She recalled, with a churning stomach, the one memory that had been restored to her when she had eaten a piece of noblestalk mushroom. The sight of her vivisecting a victim, her blade cutting cleanly into the flesh even as the person lay screaming, her butler at her side. Around her sat jars of pickled specimens and books with her drawings, her notes. She shuddered, even as part of her mind yearned to linger on the image, to try and force the sketches and notes into focus, searching with a scientist’s curiosity. She pushed the memory aside, clutching tightly to her pendant.
Whoever she was in the past, she must have been a horror. Did she truly want to know? If she made this deal with Raphael for one of her memories, would she regret it?
Just as the question sprang to her mind, she heard the telltale sound of a devil appearing in a whorl of hellfire behind her.
Too late to turn back now.
“Ah, there she is. The violent little sorceress with a penchant for murder. How amusing it is to see you so restless, my dear.”
She turned, already regretting her decision to invite Raphael back to Last Light. At least Astarion was with her in the room, standing up from the bed to be at the ready, and the Harpers could be called in with a single shout.
Not that it would come to a fight. That wasn’t how Raphael operated.
He was seated in an armchair on the far side of the room, legs crossed, a goblet in his hand. He swirled the goblet’s contents slowly as he regarded her with his telltale smirk. Like a cat watching a mouse approach its claws.
But Invi refused to feel intimidated. She lifted her chin and matched his stare with a cool, imperious look. She refused to let him see the anxiety churning in her gut.
“How gracious of you to finally pay us a visit, devil,” she said.
“But of course. You piqued my interest, requesting this little meeting so soon after I had already helped your little vampire friend.” Raphael’s eyes flicked to Astarion before turning back to Invi. “So tell me. What is it that you desire?”
This was it. Time to negotiate.
“I want my memories restored.”
Raphael arched an eyebrow, interested. “I see. All of them?”
Invi hesitated a fraction too long. “Yes.”
“An ambitious request.” Raphael’s smirk told her that he had noticed her hesitation. Nothing escaped his notice, it seemed. “Such an act would cost you a great deal, you realize. And you’ve already made it clear that your soul is not on offer. What do you expect to pay me in return?”
“Surely you have other devils out here in the world that need returning to the hells,” Invi said. “Other monsters that need slain.”
“If I did, you wouldn’t be my first choice in dispatching them. The arrangement with Yurgir was simply…convenient. You were already headed in that direction, after all.”
Invi struggled to keep her irritation off her face. “Fine. Then what would you suggest, devil?”
“Hmm…” He cocked his head to one side, his eyes roving slowly from the toes of her boots up to the crown of her head. She saw them linger around her throat, realizing too late that she had forgotten to tuck her pendant back under her robes.
The pendant seemed to draw his attention. He smirked faintly and stood with affected grace, sauntering over to stand right in front of her. She held her ground, even as he lifted the pendant with the tips of his fingers, regarding it with smooth curiosity.
“Watch where you put your hands, devil,” Astarion warned. Out of the corner of her eye she saw him shift his stance, hands conveniently closer to his blades. Raphael ignored him as if he weren’t even present in the room.
“You don’t even know who this belongs to, do you?” he asked, flipping the pendant over to show the initials on the other side. “Is it your own, or merely the rubbish left over from one of your victims? Does it have any meaning at all?” He chuckled. “You have no idea.”
Invi clenched her teeth together, refusing to be intimidated or hurt. She merely lifted her chin a fraction higher, trying not to breathe too much lest any part of her body touch his hand, even accidentally.
“N.V.,” he crooned. “That is what they call you, isn’t it? Your…friends. Invi. It would be a charming name, were it not false.”
Her breath caught in her throat. “You know my name?”
“Perhaps,” he said. His smile spoke of some small triumph and he took a step back, letting the pendant fall back onto her chest. “Does that knowledge interest you?”
Suddenly she wasn’t so sure. Did she want to know her true name? For two months now she had been Invi, the storm sorceress who tried desperately to do right and resist the violent voices in her head. It was the only name and identity she had. But if her former identity was restored to her…would she be changed? Would she become who she had been in the past?
She could feel Astarion’s eyes on her, but she didn’t dare look at him. They both knew the danger she was facing. Perhaps on some level he understood more than she did.
Raphael’s sipped from his goblet, his eyes locked on her. His smile as he lowered the glass was cold and calculating, a mask that hid his thoughts but taunted her nonetheless. He dismissed the goblet with a wave of his hand and a puff of smoke and then joined the tips of his fingers together in a little cage in front of him.
“Here is my offer, little sorceress,” he said. “You give me one name in exchange for another. Give me your pendant, and I will restore one memory to you.”
Her heart lodged in her throat. She clutched her pendant in her hand, the weight of the silver familiar and comforting. Give it up, for one memory? No, there had to be more to it than that. What did Raphael want a trinket for?
“Tell me the full terms, Raphael,” she said. “It’s not just the necklace you want.”
He chuckled. “Isn’t it? It’s a lovely bit of silver. And I do so love to collect lovely things.”
“The full terms, or there will be no deal.”
He sighed, dropping his hands to his sides. “This is what comes of making too many deals with the same people. Everyone becomes so skeptical.”
“Stop stalling, devil,” Astarion said. “Just get to the gloating part already.”
Raphael clicked his tongue in disappointment, shaking his head. “Very well. Here are my terms. I will restore one memory to you, little sorceress, one in which someone, you may not immediately know who, says your original name. Your true name. In return, you will give me your new name, along with that little pendant of yours.”
“You mean the name Invi,” she said. “It would be yours? You would own it?”
“Yes. You wouldn’t have any need for it any longer, after all, would you? You will have your original name back.”
It sounded too easy. Invi sensed that if she accepted the terms of this deal, she was handing over more than a necklace and a name. Even if Invi wasn’t her “true” name, names had power. If Raphael owned “Invi,” how much compulsion would he have over her? He wouldn’t be able to command her at will, she was certain, but that didn’t mean she would walk away unscathed.
She looked down at the pendant in her hand, running her thumb first over the carved knot pattern on one side before flipping it over to see the initials on the other side.
How much was this memory worth to her? To know who she was before waking up on the nautiloid? Of course she wouldn't be able to choose her memory. That was the catch. She would be handing over the necklace and name on the chance that the memory he restored would be helpful, illuminating in some way. But what if it is wasn't? What if it only brought her more pain?
She wished she could ask all her companions, seek their guidance as she often did, but the clock was ticking, and Raphael was already beginning to examine his nails in a show of feigned impatience.
“Quickly, my dear,” he said. “I am a very busy man.”
Invi looked at Astarion, uncertain, only to be met with equal uncertainty in his gaze. He gave a subtle shake of his head, but she couldn’t tell if it was him trying to dissuade her or him saying he didn’t know how to advise her.
“One more minute until I have to go,” Raphael said, his smirk turning cruel. “I won’t be so easily found again, you know.”
“Wait,” Invi said. “My pendant, my name, in exchange for a memory of my original identity. That’s what you said, right?”
He neither nodded nor affirmed her words. He merely waited, slowly rubbing his thumb against the curve of his perfectly manicured nails.
Invi took a deep breath and nodded. “I accept.”
Raphael grinned, his teeth like eerie pearls behind his curved lips. “Good.”
He flicked his hand and the pendant around Invi’s neck lifted from her chest, the silver glowing faintly with a red hue. The clasp at the back unlatched and the necklace floated away from her to hover gently over Raphael’s open palm. She saw the letters N.V. illuminated in red as it slowly turned in the air.
“As promised, one memory in exchange for a name,” Raphael said. “But don’t forget. Your name is now mine, Invi.”
She felt infernal power settle over her as he spoke her name, soaking into her skin, her muscles, her sinews. She had full control over herself, but there was something else there, too. Another force to resist, though this one was weaker than her dark urges. The infernal touch was little more than a threat, but even so, the message was clear.
Raphael did indeed have some control over her now.
Suddenly she felt this was a very, very big mistake.
Raphael let the necklace drop into his waiting palm and closed his fingers over it. With a small, mocking bow he snapped his fingers and disappeared in a flash of hellfire and smoke.
In the same instance, her mind flared with searing pain that buckled her knees and left her gasping on the floor. Distantly she heard Astarion shout her name, but his voice soon faded from her ears. She squeezed her eyes shut, only to be dragged forcefully into a vision.
No. A memory.
She opened her eyes to find herself in an unfamiliar room, her naked body curled around and beneath crumpled sheets. Across the room, a tall, well-built man with dark, shaggy hair stood in front of a desk, his back to her. He wore nothing but his trousers, his feet bare on the wooden floors. In the hazy moonlight streaming in through the windows and the flickering light of a single candle on the desk, she could see a pattern of scars across his back—old, crossing lash marks.
She rose from the bed, reaching for a thin dark robe that she, the voyeur looking back, wasn’t even sure was her own. She slipped it on over her shoulders, leaving the robe loose as she crossed the room to stand beside the man whose face she still couldn’t see.
She leaned her cheek against his shoulder, not affectionately, but merely as though the man’s body were a convenient place to rest her head as she gazed down at the surface of the desk. Books, letters, and sketches were organized in neat stacks on the desk, though a few stray notes and sketches lay haphazardly here and there. The man held one sketch in his hand, studying it intently.
She felt him turn his head, but she kept her eyes on the desk as he spoke. “Ah, you’re awake. I was just thinking how unlike you it is to have a messy desk like this. I came to tidy up as you were sleeping.”
“You came to snoop, you mean,” she heard her own voice say. The voyeur from the future seemed to fade with each passing breath, until she was there, reliving the memory as though it were all one and the same.
The man chuckled, finally setting down the sketch. It was a detailed anatomical drawing of a skeleton and nervous system, the blue ink of the bones overlaid with the red ink of the nerves. On the side, a sketch of a brain with a long stem of nerves along the spinal cord. He didn’t deny her accusation.
“I was just thinking about possibilities,” he said.
“Possibilities?”
“Of mixing the biological with the mechanical. The humanoid skeleton is not so different from the metal scaffolding that supports a construct.” He pointed along the long bones that made up the skeleton’s arms and legs. “I’m wondering if it would be possible in the future to manipulate both man and machine into one.”
“Hmmm.” She lifted her head from his shoulder and reached for her sketch, studying it with detached interest. There, in the corner, were two small letters in her handwriting. N.V.
A signature.
“The body is fragile,” she said, laying the sketch aside. “It may reject certain metals, or fall apart if certain structures and systems were to be tampered with. One wrong cut and you’re left with naught but inert flesh. I don’t see how that benefits an already inert metal construct.“
“Perhaps if the inert flesh were to be animated again, there could be some use there.”
“You’re suggesting necromancy.” Her lip curled at the suggestion.
“Only as a secondary resort. Though I find that reanimated flesh tends to follow orders a bit more readily than the living, don’t you?”
“How droll. But…hm.” She crossed her arms, eyes fixed on the sketch. She could see where he imagined bars of steel along the bones. It was hard to discern her own thoughts in the memory, but there were flashes, images. Bodies sliced open with every organ on display, tiny threads of veins laid bare by her knife. The image of a brain and spinal cord with the nerves lovingly woven against a steel and iron skeleton. She tilted her head, her heart racing at the prospect, but her every move calm.
“Your proposal intrigues me,” she said at last. “Perhaps I should begin a new round of experiments. See if there are any merits to your…possibilities.”
He chuckled again. “I knew you would come around, eventually.”
Her lips curved in a dark smile as she lovingly stroked a finger down the column of the spinal cord in her drawing. “I shall need new test subjects, dear one, if we are to make any progress on this new little project of yours.”
She felt him draw closer, his lips hovering near her cheek, but he didn’t kiss her. Not yet. He waited instead, just within view, his breath ghosting against her skin.
“I can never say no to you,” he murmured. “I may even have a few subjects already in mind.”
She turned her head at last to look at him. Though his face was half-cast in shadow, she could easily see the tilt of his close-lipped smile. His dark eyes glimmered in the candlelight, darker than any eyes she had ever seen, the blackest black from pupil to iris. She held his gaze as his hand slipped through the opening in her robe to rest against her bare hip, pulling her body slowly against his.
Though his touch was sensual, it didn’t cause her heart to flutter like the bloodied work she had planned did. If anything, she had to bite back a small, resigned sigh.
In all his brilliance, her little tyrant was clever enough to know when to distract her before she plotted more than a step ahead of him. It was a dance they had memorized, almost as soon as they’d met. Flashes of scraps of memory flittered at the edge of her mind, all frustratingly out of reach, but she recognized elements of them. Rivalry. Alliance. Allure. Power. Brilliance. They flit from her mind before she could keep hold of any of them. She still couldn’t remember this man’s name.
“We work well together,” he murmured. “Soon, all the world will recognize us and pay us due deference. They will be bowing in the streets before our might and power.”
He leaned in, bringing his lips a hair’s breadth from hers, teasing. She made no move to close the distance.
“Soon all the world will cower at the mere mention of us,” he whispered. “I will raise you up from your obscurity, my savage little savant. I will make the world know your name.”
“Say it,” she whispered back, and she was no longer certain who was in control of her mouth, the voyeur in the future or the memory of the past. “I want to hear it from your lips first.”
“Nieva,” he crooned. “Nieva Vaelstrom, the Chosen of—“
His voice faded even has his lips continued to move. She struggled to read his lips even as the world around her grew dim, all color leeching away as darkness encroached around her. Then in a rush, her world went black.
She woke with a gasp, finding herself facing a wooden ceiling, a pair of arms wrapped tightly around her. She turned her head, half-expecting that dark-haired man again, but instead met the worried, red-eyed gaze of Astarion.
“Gods,” he murmured. “You could have warned me. One second you were just standing there and the next—out like a light.”
“Astarion?” She struggled to sit up, using him for support until they were both seated on the floor, facing one another. “How long was I out?”
“A few seconds at most. I very nearly decided to call for Shadowheart.” He eyed her warily, searching her face. “So? Did you…find what you were looking for? Was it worth it?”
She was quiet, turning the memory over in her mind, her hand absently seeking a necklace that was no longer there. She pressed her hand flat to her chest instead.
The dark-haired man. The sketches. Their conversation. None of it made sense, but neither did any of it feel like a fiction conjured up by the devil for his amusement. She could still feel the man’s hand on her hip as though he had branded her. She could recall the tenor of his voice with perfect clarity.
She slowly shook her head. “I…don’t know.”
Already she missed the weight of the pendant around her neck. It would take days before she could break herself of the habit of constantly reaching for it, seeking the pattern of the metal against her fingers to ground herself. She already mourned its loss. She had traded it and her name for this memory, this reminder of who she had been. And she still had no idea who that person even was.
Astarion watched her for a long moment before reaching out a hand to cover hers, the one that rested listlessly in her lap. “Invi?”
She started with a jolt, breaking from her thoughts. She stared at him, lips slightly parted, half convinced she had just imagined him saying that word. Her name.
“You—you can still say it?”
“Yes. I’ve been saying it several times over, trying to wake you just now.” His smile was wry. “Raphael didn’t take everything about your name, it seems. He might own it, but I can still say it. Lucky me.”
But then his expression shifted, looking uncertain again. “That is, if that’s…is that what you would prefer to be called? Did you even find out your real name?”
“I did, but…” She trailed off, recalling the way the dark-haired man had spoken it. The way his voice had manipulated the syllables as if he owned them and yet desired them. Dangerous and seductive, like a hint of a kiss on her lips and a dagger at her back. It made her gut churn just to remember it, to remember that at the time, she’d felt not revulsion, but a thrill.
Nieva Vaelstrom. A savage savant, he had called her. What did that mean? Even with her true name now in her memory, she was no closer to understanding who she had been in the past. She was left with even more questions than before and had paid dearly for the knowledge that, as of now, did nothing to help her.
She dragged her gaze reluctantly back up to meet Astarion’s. “Would it be all right if I didn’t tell you?” she whispered. “If I could just be Invi for a little while longer, as long as that devil lets me?”
He said nothing at first. He searched her expression with a new kind of earnestness, a softness she had only glimpsed in fleeting moments before now. Whatever he was searching for, or whatever he was thinking, he seemed to answer for himself. He leaned forward on his knees to brush a gentle kiss against her lips.
“Of course, Invi,” he murmured, and she found herself wanting to lean into him and rewrite the voice from her memory with his. Not with her true name, but the name she had used for the last two months.
“Say it again,” she whispered, closing her eyes and letting herself relax in his embrace as he kissed her again.
He responded by cradling her face in his hands and murmuring her name against her lips, and then between kisses against her cheekbones, her forehead, her jaw, her throat. She sighed and grew calm in his embrace and let him distract her from the memory she had paid so very dearly for.

So why does the generic cadet who’s initially a Rare Hero at the beginning of the game share the same name as the guy in the Intelligence Department a.k.a. Class Ninth? lol
Oh crap, generic female Naghi is also from Class Ninth. I ended up dissolving her when I got more powerful Heros since either Eight or Cater (who are initially Epic).

“Hey, can I ask a huge favor?”
You hoisted yourself up from your beach towel onto your elbows and pulled down your sunglasses to glare at the boy in front of you. You narrowed your eyes at him in suspicion. What could Kim Mingyu possibly want from you?
“What is it?”
He ran a hand through his still-wet hair awkwardly. “Um, the boys and I are about to play a game of volleyball, and we’ve bet some money on it…”
“Okay?”
“And, well, it’s me and Hansol against Wonwoo, Soonyoung, and Seungkwan. Wonwoo’s their best player and I was wondering if you could distract him? So that we have a better chance of winning?”
“Distract him… how?” you asked, not fully understanding.
“You know… whatever it is you do that drives Wonwoo crazy. He’s your boyfriend, I’m sure you know how to wind him up.”
“You mean you want me to get him hard during your game?”
Mingyu nearly choked at that. “Um, I mean pretty much, yeah. Just do something that will throw him off his game.”
“So you want me to help you guys cheat?”
“It’s not technically cheating.”
“I think your definition of cheating is much looser than mine.”
“So is that a no?” he asked.
You thought about it for a second. “Is there anything in it for me?”
“We’ll give you a cut of the winnings.”
You found yourself grinning. “How much did you guys bet?”
“Two hundred if they win, three hundred if we win. Basically whoever’s on the losing team has to cough up a hundred bucks.”
“Jeez, I can’t believe Wonwoo is risking that much on a stupid game.”
“Are you upset?”
“No, it’s his money he can do whatever he wants with it. I just think he’s a dumbass.”
“Not arguing with that.”
“Do you need me to remind you that you’re betting the same amount?”
“Fair enough,” he chuckled. “So you’ll do it? For a hundred?”
“Yeah, you’ve got yourself a deal.”
“Pleasure doing business.” Mingyu smirked and held out his hand for you to shake. You rolled your eyes at the formality but shook his hand anyway, just as Wonwoo came up to the both of you and clapped Mingyu on the shoulder.
“What are my best mate and my best girl talking about?” he asked, leaning down to kiss you.
“I wanted to go swimming, but Mingyu said you guys are about to play volleyball?” You piped up before Mingyu could say anything. Maybe you should’ve felt guiltier than you did about lying to your boyfriend and for what you were about to do, but hey, a hundred dollars was a hundred dollars . And if everything went according to plan, you’d be getting some good dick too. A win win.
Wonwoo frowned a little bit. “Oh yeah, sorry. Wanna play, love?” he offered. “There’s still some room on Mingyu’s team.”
You made a face. “What about your team? Can’t you make one of your other team members switch?”
He winced. “I love you, y/n, but you’re shit at sports.”
Any trace of remorse left over what you’d agreed to do dissolved in that moment. He fucking deserved what he was about to get.
“The stupid game is that important to you? Asshole,” you scoffed, and put your sunglasses back on before laying back down on the towel.
“Y/n,” Wonwoo whined, and crouched down next to you. “I-”
“Go play your fucking game.”
He stood back up, but lingered for a moment. You could tell he felt bad, but you weren’t having it. “Wanna go swimming after?” he asked in a quiet voice.
“Sure, whatever.”
You could tell he’d walked away when the shadow over you disappeared. You weren’t going to lie to yourself, you were a little pissed about the comment he’d made. Were you shit at sports? Yes, definitely, but could he have at least pretended to love you enough to be on the same team as you? Also yes. He should’ve known you were going to say no anyway.
While you were still fuming you hadn’t even realized the boys had started the game. Not even a minute in and you were already slacking on your end of the bet. You propped yourself back up for a moment to watch. You could see why Mingyu had asked for your help. Wonwoo and his team were dominating so far, and you couldn’t help but admire how fit your boyfriend looked as he served the ball to the other side of the court. You licked your lips absentmindedly, ready to pull him back to the car right fucking then.
You forced yourself to stop watching the game stood up from your towel, brushed yourself off, and began walking towards the water. You made sure to pull your bikini bottoms as far up your ass as you could in the process just to get Wonwoo’s attention as you walked past the volleyball net. Sure, you’d agreed to go swimming with him after the match, but you’d never promised to wait for him.
As you made your way down to the shore, you noted that not only Wonwoo’s head turned to watch you walk, but all five of the boys cast their attention away from the game and towards you. You glanced behind your shoulder for a second, and caught Mingyu’s smirk. He took advantage of Wonwoo’s lapse in concentration to spike the ball back over to their side and score a point.
You heard some yelling and protestation, but pretended to ignore it and continued to wade into the water.
It was warmer than you thought it would be, and deeper. There was a steep drop a few feet in that you might have tripped over if you weren’t careful. You only ended up staying in the ocean for a few minutes; Wonwoo couldn’t really get distracted by you if your whole body was submerged underwater. You weren’t there to swim around anyway, just to get your bathing suit wet so it would stick to your body.
You’d worn one that didn’t have pads in it so you knew that once you got out of the water the whole beach would be able to see your nipples poking through the fabric. You didn’t have a problem with that. Wonwoo might.
While you were down there you got your hair wet too, just for good measure. Might as well pull out all the stops since a hundred dollars were on the line.
You weren’t sure what the score was by the time you made your way back up to your towel, but you didn’t make an effort to ask. What you did know, though, was that Wonwoo was getting frustrated. Even from where you were you could see that his jaw was clenched and his brows were furrowed.
The opposing team seemed to be doing just fine though, and you stopped to watch them high-five each other after Mingyu scored another point by slamming the ball over the net onto Wonwoo side of the court.
“Damn, nice one, Gyu!” you called out from where you were standing, giving him a big smile and thumbs up. It was sort of dorky, not to mention a cheap shot, but if you knew Wonwoo as well as you thought you did, it’d be the perfect thing to rile him up.
“Thanks, y/n!” he shouted back and winked, ignoring the weird look Hansol gave him. “It’s about time you started rooting for the winning team!”
You struggled not to laugh when you looked back over to the other side of the court and saw all three boys scowling at Mingyu. You didn’t even know why he needed you in the first place, he knew how to push their buttons so well already.
Wonwoo’s fists were clenched now, and he looked this close to tackling his best friend to the ground. The two of you weren’t even flirting with each other, not really, but Wonwoo was the most competitive person you knew and it wasn’t always the best color on him. For you to be cheering for the team that he’s not on, and for that team to be winning- there was no doubt in your mind that he was royally pissed. Not to mention, that you just so happened to be cheering for his attractive best friend who may or may not have mentioned having sex dreams about you once or twice in passing.
It was good, but it wasn’t enough. Soonyoung made some offhand comment about how close the scores were so you knew you needed to keep going. You turned your attention away from the game again and lowered yourself down on your stomach on top of your towel and casually undid the strings of your bikini top to “sunbathe”.
If anyone asked it was so you didn’t get tan lines on your back, it was something that a lot of women did. In reality, however, you didn’t give a shit about tan lines, you just wanted to see how Wonwoo would react.
You pulled out your book to read while you tanned, tuning back into the game every once and a while to see how it was going. You could hear Soonyoung and Seungkwan yelling at Wonwoo to ‘pay attention’ or ‘snap the fuck out of it’ and smiled to yourself, excited for what was to come.
After several more minutes, your bathing suit was almost dry and you were starting to fall asleep on your towel. The volleyball game was taking way longer than you anticipated and you just wanted Mingyu and Hansol to win already. You didn’t have any other ideas to distract your boyfriend so you hoped they could pull it off.
Then, what you would call a fucking miracle happened. You were still nearly dozing off on top of your book when a pink Frisbee landed on the sand right in front of your face.
“Sorry about that!” called the voice of its owner and you squinted to see him jogging over to you. A few of his friends weren’t far behind and they all congregated in a little group in front of your towel. They looked to be about your age, maybe a little older. “Sorry to wake you up,” the ringleader apologized again, but smiled like he wasn’t really that sorry.
You propped yourself up on your elbows, one hand holding your loose bikini to your chest, while the other handed the Frisbee back to smiling guy. “No worries, I didn’t mean to fall asleep anyway.”
“What’s your name?” Ringleader asked. “I’m Jeonghan, and these are some of my fraternity brothers.”
Of course. You should’ve guessed. They were all jacked, tan, and had an air of privilege about them that you couldn’t miss. They were objectively cute, sure, but nothing in comparison to your boyfriend playing volleyball behind you. Not to mention their pack mentality freaked you out a little.
“I’m y/n,” you said and held your free hand out to them to shake, still keeping your other hand on your bikini top so you wouldn’t flash them. “Are you guys on a holiday break or something?”
“Yeah, just trying to make the most out of our last few days.”
“You from around here?” another boy asked, not being subtle at all in the way he was eyeing you.
“No, we just took a little day trip,” you explained and cleared your throat, wondering how long they’d stick around and when Wonwoo was going to come over and dick you down out of jealousy.
“We?” Ringlea- Jeonghan asked, cocking his head to the side. “Are you here with your friends?”
“Her boyfriend, actually,” Wonwoo piped up calmly from behind you. You looked back and saw him standing a few feet behind your towel with his arms crossed. He could be annoying, but fuck if he didn’t have good timing.
“Oh-uh, well I was nice to meet you.” Jeonghan mumbled abruptly and nodded to his friends to get back to their Frisbee game. They were gone before you could even say goodbye back.
“Attracting all sorts of attention today, aren’t you, love?” Wonwoo sneered and knelt down beside you.
His words went straight to the heat between your legs and you turned over onto your back to get a better look at him. “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” you lied, daring him to challenge you.
“I think you do, y/n,” he continued. The way he whispered your name sent a shiver down your spine. “I mean, you’re practically naked in front of the whole beach right now.”
“I’m wearing a swimsuit.”
“You know what I mean. And all for what? To make me jealous? So I’d fuck you? Because you could’ve just asked, baby.”
You whimpered, but didn’t say anything and leaned up to kiss him, desperately wanting to feel his lips against yours. He leaned in too, but stopped just short of your mouth, pulling back a bit to look into your eyes. “I could just pull your bikini bottoms to the side, no one will notice.”
You moaned softly, wanting nothing more than for him to do exactly that. You weren’t even sure if you could wait to get home at this point, you wanted him inside of you now. He put a hand on each knee and spread your legs apart, whistling in awe at the wet spot on your bathing suit. You felt your face heat up in embarrassment. “I haven’t even touched you and you’re already this wet.”
“All because of you,” you panted, reaching out for him, but he pulled back.
“You know all of your teasing made me lose the game, right? I couldn’t focus because I was so distracted.” You nodded. “I was so fucking hard the whole match because of what you were doing”
And then your dumbass had to open your big mouth. “So Mingyu told you?”
Wonwoo pulled back, and gave you a confused look, clearly caught off guard. “Told me what?”
“Y/n, that was incredible, you were perfect!” Mingyu exclaimed as he ran up to you and Wonwoo, holding out a hundred dollar bill to you.
You winced as you took it, wishing you hadn’t said anything.
“Y/n, what the fuck?” Wonwoo demanded, even more frustrated than he had been a minute ago. “What were you incredible at?”
“Fucking distracting you, dude. I asked her if she’d be in on the bet with me for a cut of the winnings since you guys had more team members.”
Your boyfriend glared at you. “Is that true?”
“I mean, it’s just a game… and I thought it’d be fun,” you said quietly.
“That’s what you guys were talking about earlier, wasn’t it?”
“Yeah, she didn’t need any convincing she was totally down-”
“Mingyu,” you interrupted, pinching the bridge of your nose, “please, if you have any mercy for my pussy please shut the fuck up.”
His face went scarlet and he shut his mouth without further comment.
“So that’s it?” Wonwoo asked, obviously not ready to drop the subject yet. “You’re just gonna sell out your own boyfriend that easy?”
“You said you didn’t want to be on a team with me!”
“Don’t turn this around on me! You’re the one who helped them cheat!”
“Oh I don’t know if I’d call it cheating,” Mingyu interjected again.
“Shut up, Mingyu!” you and Wonwoo both shouted.
“Look, I’m sorry,” Mingyu said quietly. “If I had known it was going to be this big of a deal I wouldn’t have asked her. I just thought I was being clever, that it’d be a fun way to beat you guys, but I’m sorry I went too far.”
Wonwoo sighed and ran a hand through his wet curls. “It’s fine. I’m sorry I overreacted.”
“So… we’re good?” Mingyu asked, holding out a hand to help Wonwoo up.
“Yeah, we’re good. Next time, though, we’re playing fair.”
“Deal.”
“Y/n, you still want to go swimming, love?” Wonwoo asked, turning back to you.
“We’re not- we’re not going home?” Despite everything you were still incredibly horny, and you’d been patiently waiting for Wonwoo to rail you for what felt like hours now.
“Not yet,” he said and helped you to your feet. “Let’s make the most of our beach day.”
“I think the rest of us are going to find an ice cream shop,” Mingyu added. “Winners are buying. Do either of you want anything?”
“No thanks, we’ll hang out here by ourselves for a while.” Wonwoo answered for the both of you.
He wrapped an arm around your waist as you walked down to the water together and you relaxed, enjoying the feeling of his warm skin on yours. Only once you were out of Mingyu’s earshot did he lean down and whisper “your ass is going to be seven shades of red for that little stunt once we get home,” in your ear. Now it was your turn to be distracted.

Mind my request: Just imagine this situation when Mc got a little pissed off on one of the demon brothers and do them a Suplex for the sudden and knock them out!! Like no matter what size mc but she could do it! (Like Solomon give them a super strange spell on them Uff)
Well to celebrate the first year of my blog, here is part 1 later this week I will post the second part, I hope you like it and thank you to whoever made the request and everyone who follows me.
please, like/reblog
don’t redistribute and claim as your own
request are open
This is an never-told story of a person who surprised everyone their name was MC, maybe some of you know them, but whoever doesn't will discover a different side of them.
Mc is a free spirit, kind, caring and always ready to help, but sometimes that's not always good because sometimes there are people who take advantage of kindness and especially when you are on Devildom.
There are 3 Realms The Human realm which is the realm of humans, the Celestial Realm which is the realm of Angels and Devildom that I don't need to explain ,you already get it, … these demons always causing problems,….without thinking about the consequences…well they don't know what to them wait... well let's start our story
It all started on a normal day, a day just like any other, Mc woke up with Mammon running in and screaming and obviously without slamming the door, just levingout of their room they ran into Asmo who soon began to dramatize how the beauty treatments were important and how it was so difficult to be as handsome as him, however arriving at the dinner table to have breakfast and Beel had eaten everything, and he still had poker face to offer the plate to lick the melted chocolate from the waffles that were devoured by him, Lucifer saying it was their fault for not having arrived sooner, Belphie being beside them sleeping and spilling juice on them, and having to go change clothes and go to their room and find Mammon stirring you know what, arriving late and still having to listen to Satan talking about rules and schedules and how to be the student of the world the human has to be a model student, if it wasn't enough to have a Levithan incessantly begging to come home to play a new game.
By lunchtime Mc can't even think or hear from the demon brothers anymore, so they takes their lunch and goes to sit alone and when Solomon comes to have lunch with them and then comes Simeon and Luke.
At the end of the day, as she was on her way home, she has a great idea, and heads for the castle.
Served in the best way as ever by Barbatos, who asks them what them need, says they're there to talk to Solomon, as always Barbatos leads them to the living room where he asks them to wait for him to call Solomon, who quickly arrives curious of the why of the sudden visit.
Mc asks them to talk in a more private place, because them doesn't want anyone to hear.
in Solomon room
Mc: I want to ask for an exchange of favors
Solomon: Well say what you want and I'll see if we have business
Mc: I'm upset with the demon brothers and just because I'm human doesn't mean they can do whatever they want.
Solomon: So we are talking about torture?!
Mc :No Solomon, I don't want you to cook for them, I want to teach them a lesson, I don't want to poison them
Solomon : You don't know how to appreciate excellent cuisine…. So do you have any ideas?…
Mc :yes, those demons don't know what gonna happened for them
Solomon: {evil laugh}
Mc [shaks their head from side to side] :Please Solomon…
Solomon: What an all evil plan has an evil laugh.
Lucifer
The next day, when leaving the room Mc unfortunately meets Lucifer, pretending not to see him continues on their way to the stairs, when Lucifer calls their name still pretending to continue as if them hadn't heard, the second time Lucifer says their name loud and clear, the third time Lucifer is in front of them angry
Mc: Yes?
Lucifer: Didn't you hear me calling for you?
Mc : Of course not, obviously if I had, I would have answered you
Lucifer is looking at them with a bitch face" I know you're lying\how dare you lie to me"
Mc smiles like a perfect angel 👼
Lucifer: Where were you last night?
Mc: in the castle.
Lucifer: Doing what?
Mc: relaxing with a friend.
Lucifer: Who??
Mc: Solomon.
Lucifer: You can't stand Solomon!
Mc: But now I'm trying
Lucifer: Since when?!!
Mc: Yesterday.
Lucifer: Why didn't you come to dinner yesterday??
Mc :Diavolo invited me to dinner
Mc in a dramatic and ironic tone: You wanted I refuse an invitation from the Devil Prince
Lucifer: … no
Mc turns around and walks away: So since this coversation is over, I have more things to do
Lucifer: I'm not done yet
Mc: But I am.
Lucifer returns to face Mc
Mc turns looks into Lucifer's eyes and smiles
Tumblr media
Mc: But I do
Mammon
Mc enters Mammon's room furious looking for him, but he's not there, he sits down and waits.
The room is all dark, Mammon enters the room running panting and closes when the light turns on
Mc: running away from someone?
Mammon: MC You scared me!!! How long have you been there?
Mc: maybe a half hour
Mammon: what did you want?
Mc: money
Mammon: What??
Mc : the money you took without asking
Mammon: I didn't take anything
Mc: you dare to lie to me,... now I'm mad 😡
Tumblr media
Mammon: But what…
Mc: you better have the money tomorrow, or we're in serious trouble.

Hello Queen Of Games! Continuing the firefighter/cop spouse saga, how would the Yu-Gi-Oh boys react to said spouse getting injured in the line of duty?
Afshsk stoooop I am no such thing! Just a simple writer 💜 🥺👉👈
⚠️TW⚠️This fic contains mentions of abuse. They aren't detailed but I felt the need to warn.
Tumblr media
Yugi
This man cherishs you, but he also knows that your job isn't the safest. So he always tries to mentally prepare when you leave for work.
However, on the night of new years he got a call from Domino hospital. A party on the outskirts of town.
It got too wild so they sent you in to quiet them down a but, however unknowing to you a known suspect of a recent robbery was there as well.
When he saw you come out of the police car his first instinct was to take you down before you could do the same to him.
By then end of the fight you were taken to the hospital to check your injuries. They called your husband to inform him, and let's just say Yugi has never ran so fast in his life.
By the time he got to you he was already in tears, peppering your face in kisses and checking for injuries.
When he was done he leaned his forehead on your and sighed "please be more careful...I don't know what I would do without you."
Tumblr media
Yami/Atem
He doesn't know how, but he knew before the hospital was able to call him. In the pit of his stomach he could feel something was wrong.
So as quick as he could he called your phone, and turns out he was right. You were on the hunt for man who constantly laid hand on his wife.
When corned him in an alley, like the animal he is he lunged at you throwing punches in the process.
He manged a few good hits, and even broke your nose so you went to the hospital.
Though Atem didn't get to know that because before you mentioned going to the hospital he was already in the car on his way to you.
As soon as he got there he was immediately at your side kissing every bruised and scratch while asking the gods for that man's punishment.
When finished he took your face into his hand and softly kissed you "its okay my queen...I'm here."
Tumblr media
Joey
It was during duel that he got the call. At first he didn't recognize the hospital number till he saw the name.
He could feel his heart rate slow as he heard the nurse tell him what happened. There was a fire in old factory some kids thought I was a good idea to start a fire in one.
The fire was strong and unforgiving, but without a second thought you went into the fire twice to save those kids from their own stupidity.
Luckily the kids weren't harmed, but the second time you went in some of the building collapsed making it harder to escape. You climb and jumped over what you could, but it left you with a couple injuries.
Joey was quick to leave the duel and right to your side. Much like Yugi he was already in tears by the time he reached you. Though he tried to pull it off
He rambled to you through kisses on how much he loves you ,and doesn't want to part from you.
By the time it reached midnight joey tired himself out and was sleep in the chair next to your bed. You knew you made the right choice in marrying him.
Tumblr media
Tristan
Man he thought marrying for you was the most nerve wrecki mng adventure with you, but he was sadly mistaken when he got a call from the fire station.
A terrible fire started at one of the many Kiba lands, one of the animations short circuited causing sparks to fly, and fires to start.
You were one the few to go in and save as many civilians as you could. When you bringing out what your thought was the last person out some rock fell on to your mask breaking it.
When you got outside you were ready to help put out the fire till you heard the cry of a little kid. Not able to leave him you rush back in no mask. You and the boy made it out safely but you collapsed when you got to safe due to lack of air.
Tristan was quick to jump on his bike and head to the hospital to see you. Praying to whoever was listening that you were okay.
You were still asleep when he got there, but the doctors informed him that you were okay and just needed rest. So stayed by yourself all night. Ready to show you how proud and scared he was.
Tumblr media
Duke
When I say this became a simp for you I meant. It was very rare for him to not text you back, and vice versa.
So when he didn't hear from you for awhile he got really worried, and that only intensified when he got a call from the station.
There was a robbery at the bank in town, and one of the robers was a little trigger happy. When you tried talked to the over the car speaker the trigger happy on shot at you hitting you square in the shoulder.
The man looked terrified of what he done as he dropped his gun and raised his hands in surrender. Everyone was arrested without further conflict but you were take to the hospital.
That man dropped everything he was doing to be at your side. At first he wasn't allowed to see due to surgery, but when he was he rushed to you cupping your face to make sure you were still there.
When you opened your eyes he began to cry "God's I thought I would lose you." He kissed you deeply trying to convey his emotions through said kiss
"Please...be more careful..."
Tumblr media
Seto
Seto didn't have to wait for a call, you were called to one of his game stores because a customer was threatening an employee for some better cards.
It caused such a ruckus that Seto himself came down the same time you did. You entered first and immediately was attacked by the customer.
Thanks to your training you were able to take them down the ease, but not with out a busted lip and a black eye from the surprise attack.
As the assailant was taken away seto was immediately at your side checking your wounds.
"I'll make sure they pay the full price of the injury." He mumbled before taking out his phone to call his personal doctor.
True to his work the assailant payed with not only money, but their times as well.
Tumblr media
Bakura
Since he married you knew there were gonna be close calls, but he didn't he was never prepared for the call to tell him that.
You were called to a house that got caught on fire due to a cooking mistake. As you were helping the last family member out the house the floor belowed you collapsed.
You fell into the basement with a loud thud and passed out. You don't know what happened from there, but when you woke Your husband Bakura was standing over you crying.
When he noticed you were awake he quickly gathered you in his arms and sobbed. All you could was embrace him back even if it hurt a bit.
"I'm so proud of you" he sniffed as he petted your hair "but please...be careful I don't know what I would do with you."
Tumblr media
Yami Bakura
He tends on to worry about you given you training, but when you called him about what happened he felt that old familiar feeling of worry.
You were tracking a sexual assault assailant who has been getting away for too long. Unfortunately for you he wasn't working alone.
He baited you to an old house where him and his friend attacked your from the dark. The broke your arm in the process, but you were able to use your tazer to keep them docile till backup showed up.
Yami Bakura took longer then others to show up, but that's because he had to show whoever dared to lay there hands on you what fear is.
He isn't one for mushy actions but he took you in his arms and kissed you with a rare gentleness.
"Be careful next time little cop. I don't need another thing taken from me."
Tumblr media
There often were times where he regretted leaving your side to travel. He knew you job was dangerous, but he had a hard staying in one place.
While traveling the coast of France he got a call from the hospital about your injury.
While helping civilians out of a growing gas fire you were struck by the building rubble trapping you inside. While your colleagues were able to get you out you were unconscious with a broken leg.
Marik dropped everything he was doing and headed home right away. It took him a few days, and by the time he got there you were already awake and recovering.
But none of that mattered, he was here now, and he was gonna show you how worried he was through careful touches and soft kisses
"I'm so sorry I wasn't here for you love, but I will be here for your recovery no matter how long it takes."
Tumblr media
Yami Marik
There was phone call, there was no hospital, and there was no backup. It was just Yami Marik. Remember when I said he knew you were his??
Well he takes that seriously, and things that are his he takes REALLY good care of. So when some lowlife who decided target you on patrol he was quick to step in.
Before the man could even raise his gun Yami Marik was challenging him to a shadow game.
Naturally we won, and the spirits fed a very pathetic meal. You gawked at him as he slowly approached the smirk ever present on his face.
"Next time my precious one" he started as he leaned into the car and lifted your chin up to face him "be more vigilant. "

Yellow Roses
The first time was a learning experience.
Bumblebee had been innocent to the ways of human gift-giving back then, unsure of what to get or where to get it, but after using the internet and looking up where to buy gifts for humans, he found that there was a gift shop down the street from where the Autobot base was, and he begged and pleaded with Sari for some of her allowance money “for something important”.
He wasn’t sure what he wanted to get. What he was sure of, though, was that he was completely enamored with you and had been since day one- and he couldn’t bring himself to confess yet, but if he didn’t channel his feelings somehow, they were going to burst.
But as he approached the gift shop on that sunny day in Detroit, no other than Optimus Prime walked out and bumped into him. Thankfully, before he could fall back at the impact, Optimus reached out and caught him, placing him back on his feet with one strong servo.
“P-Prime, hey!” Bumblebee grinned and tried to look as inconspicuous as possible. He knew he wasn’t guilty of anything nefarious, per say, but he had no idea how Optimus would feel about him being in love with a human and wanting to buy gifts for said human with money that wasn’t his. “What are you doing here?”
“Uh, nothing much...” The other Autobot blatantly lied and hid a bouquet of blue and gold flowers that Bee didn’t know the name of behind his back, face burning the brightest shade of red the smaller bot had ever seen it. “Are you looking for something in particular?”
“I don’t know, I mean, what do humans even like?” Bumblebee muttered without thinking, and upon seeing Optimus’s optics widen, he raised his servos defensively and shook his head. “I mean, uh-! Never mind! What’s up with the flowers?”
“Ah,” Optimus gave an awkward grin and held the flowers in front of him instead of continuing to hide them, probably realizing that it was too late and Bumblebee had already seen them. The younger bot wondered if they were for Optimus or for someone else, but he didn’t dare ask, only listening to his leader talk. “I learned that unlike some other organic planets, on earth, it’s considered rude to pick plants if they’re in close proximity to someone’s home or in front of a public building or park unless they’re a specific type called weeds, which flowers aren’t, but I wanted to buy some for someone, so I came here to pick them up after asking Sari about it. Are you gift buying, too?”
“Well, yeah, I guess you could say that,” Bumblebee looked away and held his forearm in one servo, anxiously shifting his weight between his stabilizing servos. It felt like him and Optimus Prime had reached into the cookie jar and caught each other.
Bumblebee didn’t dare ask who the flowers were for even though he was dying to know in fear that Optimus would ask who he was at the gift shop for in return. An uncomfortable silence fell onto them momentarily, both of them quiet and staring at each other with the noise of traffic and the bustling Detroit citizens walking on the pavement who kept passing by to keep them company.
“I’ve been doing some reading since Sari’s birthday is in a few months,” Optimus tried to continue the conversation and cleared his throat. “The customs for gift giving can involve about anything when it comes to human girls, but the most common are flowers, books, chocolates, jewelry, clothing, video games, or gifts of practicality, which just seem to be hygiene products and things they can use in their daily lives. Gift cards and vouchers with money on them are also common, but considered less personable, so I wouldn’t go that route if you’re close with the one you’re buying for unless they specifically ask for it.”
“Oh... I gotcha. Good ideas, bossbot!” Bumblebee smiled again, the corners of his lip-plates sore from how forced it was due to his nerves.
What if Optimus had figured it out? That would defeat the whole point of his plan; buy you nice things and leave them at your door in the middle of the night without his name attached. It was simple and easy, but if Optimus knew before he even got to try it?
Well. That made it a lot harder.
Thankfully, though, Optimus gave him a nod and bid him a good afternoon, then walked away.
Bumblebee found himself letting out a sigh of relief.
Thank Primus...
...Hours later, Bumblebee regretted all of his life decisions. He was sitting, holed up in his room with one audial pressed up against your wall. It was a terrible habit of his, but he eavesdropped on you pretty frequently when he heard bits and pieces of you talking through the wall, and he was doing it right now.
He wasn’t sure how he had expected it to go, but when he dropped the bouquet of yellow roses at your bedroom doorstep when you were out for lunch and no one was in the halls, he had hoped that you would simply take the flowers, appreciate them, and never say another word. However, you were currently telling Sari about it, which made sense considering that the young girl dropped by your room often and asked you to do her hair or makeup as an excuse to spend time with you- you were an adult, a lot older than Sari, but the two of you got along very well considering that you were the only one who actually knew how to take care of her properly when Isaac Sumdac wasn’t around.
“I have no idea!” You exclaimed, no doubt in reference to the flowers. Bumblebee cringed. What if Sari made the connection that the money he had borrowed from her was for that? What if she told everyone, or what if you told everyone, and Prime realized why he was at that gift shop and let his secret slip? “I can only assume it was you or one of the guys, but like... I don’t know who.”
“Yeah, I have no idea! It wasn’t me, I would’ve just given ‘em to you. We should dig deeper, (y/n)!”
Oh. Oh, Primus, no.
“I’m not sure, Sari, whoever it was probably dropped it off like that for a reason,” Bumblebee heard you sigh, and at the same time, he let out a sigh of relief. Maybe you would just forget about it and-
“Wait! Do you have a secret admirer!?”
Dammit. Maybe not.
“I... Highly doubt that, the only one I’d be interested in anyways is-” You started, and then cut yourself off in a way that made Bumblebee’s spark shatter and crumble into little pieces inside his chassis. You were single, but you were already into someone? What if it wasn’t him? He’d understand, of course- Prime was stronger, Prowl was smooth, Bulkhead was talented, and Ratchet was intelligent. Compared to them, he felt like he didn’t have much to offer you. Everyone around him was amazing, and he was just there, but... He loved you, and he wanted you to know how loved you were. So, whether you’d love him back or not, he’d keep giving everything he had to you; even if the way in which he went about it was indirect. “Actually, never mind, but your braids are done-”
“No, wait, you can’t just gloss past that!” Sari whined. Bee almost didn’t want to hear the rest of your discussion, but he couldn’t keep himself from listening. “Who is it, who is it!?
“Let’s just go play Animal Crossing in the living room, we can talk about all of that at a later date, yeah?” You offered, voice laced with both your amusement and confusion.
“Fine, fine, but you have to tell me soon! Pinky promise.”
“Fine, pinky promise. Now let’s go.”
Bumblebee heard your door open and close, followed by what he presumed to be you and Sari’s footsteps in the hallway. The sound eventually dissipated.
The Autobot was left to lay back on his berth and stare at the ceiling with a huff.
You were telling others about the gift he left, trying to get to the bottom of it, and you were into someone or somebot he didn’t even know about.
What had he gotten himself into?
-
The second time, he felt a little better about it. It was a week later and he hadn’t heard any discussion of the subject amongst the other Autobots, so he assumed nothing had come from it.
But, as he lounged on the living room couch, he jumped upon you sitting down on the couch’s arm- right by where his head was laid.
It made sense that he had been jumpier around you over the past few days. Part of it was the usual I’m-in-love-with-you-and-super-tense-about-it jumpiness that he had become accustomed to, but it was made worse by the fact that he was guilty; guilty of keeping a secret from you, of indirectly lying to you. He could’ve done it the one time with the roses and let it die down after, but when you’d talked about your old game controller breaking the night before at the dinner table, he hadn’t been able to help himself- he went and got it along with a new bouquet of yellow roses, left it in front of your room later that night, knocked, and ran away.
It was the next day, and understandably, he’d been anxious about it. It was better than the first time, but he was just hoping you wouldn’t talk about it.
Of course, he was never that lucky, and you looked at him with the controller literally in your hands.
“Hey, Bee, do you know anything about this?” You asked.
Had he been caught? Did you know? Or were you just trying to get information from him in case he knew something? Unsure, he decided to play it safe and act oblivious.
“Huh? What’s that?”
“I’m taking that as a no, but someone left this new controller on my doorstep with a bouquet of roses? I needed a new one, but I only mentioned it to you and the others, so I think it’s one of you guys... But this is the second time I’ve received a gift without any name on it and I’m really confused. I’ve done some asking around, but the only one who seems to know anything is Optimus, and he won’t give me any hints and insists that he has no idea what I’m talking about.”
Great. So, Optimus probably realized why Bumblebee had been at the gift shop last week. Well... From what you said, it sounded like Optimus was at least decent enough to stay out of his business and keep the secret for him- or try to, at least.
“Yeah? That’s weird, I don’t really know why he’d be like that about it... Wanna play Streetfighter?”
“Sure, but I’m just super confused, man,” You muttered, turning on the playstation and giving a frustrated huff. The game quickly turned on, and while Bee took the old controller, you connected your brand new one and chose your stage, your character being Akuma. Bee chose Ken to fight with and listened to you continue as the game started. “I thought the first time might’ve just been a one-off thing, but it’s happened again, and the flowers were one thing, but now it’s flowers and a new controller. Anyone else would be creeped out, and I’m not creeped out- more flattered than anything since I know it’s from you or one of the other Autobots- but this is really expensive... I’d at least like to be able to say thank you!”
“That makes sense, I think I’d feel the same way,” The black and yellow bot mumbled. The game had hardly started and he was already losing due to his inability to focus- it was so bad that he couldn’t even combat you when you crowded his character into the corner and kicked him over and over and over again. His health bar dropped to zero, signaling that you’d won round one.
Round two started, and he did a little better; actually jumping away from your cornering attempts and offering some blasts and punches, but by the time it ended, he’d only gotten you down to half health, and you were delivering your final blow. Ken fell to the ground, Akuma still standing.
You didn’t even press replay despite being player one. No, instead, you let out a huff and stared at the ceiling. Bumblebee found himself resting his helm against your thigh without thinking, enjoying the warmth against his faceplates. You two were best friends, very comfortable with each other and with physical affection, so you didn’t mind it, only running a gentle hand over one of his audials in return.
Both of you set your controllers down. It was obvious that both of you were so focused on the subject of your anonymous gifts that the game didn’t catch either of your interests like it usually would.
“I might try to ask Optimus about it again tomorrow... Information extraction,” You joked, but Bumblebee quickly sat up and objected.
“Wait, I don’t think that’s such a good idea!”
“Huh? Why not? He’s the only one who’s given me so much as a reaction,” You argued and stood up to turn the game system off, then started pacing around the room. “And I guess his eyes getting all wide ‘n stuff may have just been something else, but like... It’s all I’ve got to go on.”
“Yeah, but you know how the bossbot is,” Bee stood as well, trying his hardest not to look like he was in the midst of blowing a circuit from the panic that was currently taking over his processor. “He shuts down when you push him too hard. If he knows anything about it, you gotta wait for him to come to you with that sweet info.”
“You’re probably right, Bee, thanks for the advice,” You smiled, and then walked to him to put a hand on his shoulder plate. “I’m gonna go to bed, ‘kay? Goodnight.”
You looked into his optics, and oh Primus, he was gone; your eyes were such a beautiful shade of (e/c), and your smile was so beautiful, and you were so beautiful, and he was so in love-
Quickly, he realized that he was taking too long to respond, so he quickly stammered something out.
“G-Goodnight...”
And then, you left, swiftly turning and walking out of the living room.
Bumblebee found himself letting out a sigh of relief, but at the same time, he missed you desperately.
He wished he’d given you a hug goodnight.
And, as he stood alone in the dark living room, he thought back to how exactly he’d ended up in his current predicament; painfully in love with a human, giving them things without having the courage to do it face-to-face, life feeling like it was falling apart with every hour that passed without him being able to kiss you and tell you how much he loved you like he so desperately wanted to.
He’d loved you from the very start, and as bold as he was, he couldn’t bring himself to tell you- he was just too scared, but...
What if this was what finally gave it away...?
-
The third time was what ended up blowing his cover. He should’ve left it alone, and he had told himself that after the last time- it was far too close of a call when you talked about Optimus knowing something, and he was so obvious with his own emotions during that, too... He wouldn’t do it again.
But then, he was shopping with Sari that day and saw a (f/c) hoodie that was just your size and style, and he decided you had to had it. So, when Sari was distracted at a different store, he got the hoodie, along with a new notebook, some pens, and a stuffed bee. He bought the gifts for you and put them in a nice gift bag with some paper, then left them by your door and disappeared before anyone could see him.
He was sitting in the living room yet again. It was late at night, and though him and his team had spent most of that night playing board games and catching up with a movie playing in the background, they’d all went to bed hours ago, leaving him to think by himself.
He’d lost at every game; Uno, Monopoly, Candyland, Sorry, Cards Against Humanity, and Scrabble, all because he was staring at you the entire time.
Why couldn’t he just get over himself and confess already? It was selfish to keep hiding from you, because what if the one you’d mentioned being interested in was actually him? And even if it wasn’t him, was it fair for you to think that he saw you as a friend when he was secretly in love with you? Was it fair for you to keep receiving gifts and never knowing who they were from?
Speak of the devil, though- the second Bumblebee looked up from where he was standing in the middle of the room, you were leaning against the doorway, wearing the hoodie he’d bought you and a pair of pajama shorts. You looked sleepy with your (h/l) (h/c) hair a mess and your soft hands rubbing the bleariness out of your (e/c) eyes.
“Bee?” You mumbled.
“(y/n), where’d you just come from? You look tired! You okay?”
“Yeah, I’m tired, but I’m fine. I was in the hallway, kinda waiting for everyone else to go to bed so I could talk to you, but... It took me a minute to come in here.” Bumblebee walked towards you and raised his optical ridge. His spark sank to the floor because oh Primus, was this it? Was it finally happening?
“Oh, uh... Why do you need to talk to me alone? What’s up?”
You averted your gaze and gently grabbed one of his servos with your hand, holding it tightly. Bumblebee took a sharp intake. You were about to start talking, and he wasn’t sure he was ready for it.
“I know it’s you,” You confessed with a guilty smile. Bumblebee froze in place and cringed. “I feel bad, but my curiosity was killing me, so I asked around some more and did a lot of prying- Optimus seemed like he was hiding something when I talked to him about it, so I pried until he gave up and told me that he suspected it was you; that he’d seen you at a gift shop the day I got the first bouquet, that he’d seen you lingering in the hallways the past few times I’ve gotten something, etcetera. He gave me enough details that I pieced it together, so... Yeah.”
“Well, at least it’s out of the way,” Bumblebee laughed out loud, and surprisingly, you smiled back at him. This wasn’t how he wanted it to come out, but he wasn’t sure it would have come out at all if not for this. “Getting human money without a real job is hard! Glad I could at least confess without having to do it so much that I went bankrupt.”
“Bee...” You started again, peering up at him, but he felt like he wasn’t ready for what was going to happen next. Were you about to reject him? He wasn’t sure he wanted to find out.
“Well, now that that’s done, I’m gonna go ahead and go to bed! I could use a really good recharge right about now-”
“Bee-” You cut him off with a pout and gripped his servo, obviously not done, but he only continued in hopes that you would give it up and let him escape the situation.
“Goodnight, (y/n)-”
“Bee!” You yelled and pulled him towards you by his wrist so you could get in his face. “For God’s sake, man, stop and listen to me talk for a second!”
“Okay, okay! I’m sorry! I just-” He tossed his hands up defensively, ready to spill his circuits out, only for you to cut him off.
“You don’t think I love you back, right? You’re such a dolt!” You exclaimed.
“What’s that supposed to mean!?” Bumblebee yelled back at you, processor only catching the insult before he thought back on ‘I love you back’ and froze. “...Oh. Sorry.”
“I mean I’ve loved you for months now! Even before I realized it, I think I would’ve been more than open to dating you at any point in time, I mean... You’re pretty great. Why didn’t you just tell me?”
“Well, uh-” Bumblebee stopped and took in a deep intake, then sighed and linked your fingers with his digits so he could hold your hand properly. The anxiety that had been building up over you for so long now was finally leaving his body and being replaced by relief.“I don’t know. I feel kinda stupid now.”
“C’mere,” You mumbled and wrapped an arm around him. He hugged you back, taking you into his arms and resting his chin on top of your head... He could get used to that. You were warm and soft as you relaxed your body against his and allowed yourself to be held. You let go of his servo in favor of curling your hands and arms up by his chest. “Thank you for the gifts. They were really sweet and I loved them all, so... I’ll be sure to return the favor.”
“Return the favor? This is more than enough to return the favor!” He grinned, only hugging you tighter. “I’ve always wanted to just, like, hug you like this-”
“You can kiss me, too, if you want,” You offered, which had him pulling back to look down at you, spark lit aflame.
“Really?” Bumblebee asked, just to be sure.
“Of course.”
There was a moment of silence; hesitance from both ends. It was true that, while both of you had been physically affectionate as friends, you’d never kissed, and Bumblebee had certainly never kissed a human. He’d been waiting for this moment for so long, but he had no idea what to do now that it was actually happening.
Thankfully, you took the initiative and wrapped your arms over his shoulders, hands on the back of his neck. You looked up at him one more time before standing on your tip-toes so you could gently press your lips against his. Bumblebee was frozen still for a moment as he processed your warm, soft lips against his cool metal plating, but after the tension faded, he found himself resting his servos on your hips and melted into it.
One kiss turned into many; again, again, and again, you moved your lips against his in a manner so intoxicating that he couldn’t get enough of it.
Eventually, though, you pulled away and smiled up at him, but now that he had gotten to kiss you like that, he couldn’t help but want more.
“I, uh... I’m not sure the favor has been returned yet,” Bumblebee averted his optics from your eyes, able to feel his spark beating faster. “I might need one more kiss just to be sure-”
You chuckled, cutting him off by leaning up again and sloppily pushing your lips against his- and, with that, he was gone.
