There was no way I would be able to find it in the game so I turned to Ye Olde Dragon Age Toolset to search the dialogue files for you so I present:

Ambient comment when you enter the secret tunnel to get into Redcliffe (i.e., the dungeons area):

Text: "I locked myself in a cage, once, when I was a child. For an entire day. Ahh, good times."

Ambient comment when you're nearing Arl Eamon's Estate in Denerim:

Text: "The arl used to come here in the winter when I was small. I, uh...slept with the hounds.

And finally, when Alistair talks about his mothers amulet (in the same conversation where he talks about being raised by Chantry dogs and talks about Eamon sending him to the monastery at ten):

Text: "I suppose you're right. I wasn't raised as the arl's son, though, if you're picturing that. I slept in hay out in the stables, not on silk sheets."

There might be others that I'm missing but I do remember hearing all three of those in the game, just by wandering around or trying out dialogue options.

these were other moments where i was like. ok so when you say you were raised by dogs and the chantry beat out if it, are you saying that for real alistair. alistair stop deflecting with jokes alistair get your ass back here and tell me smthg

You know that feeling when you mentally wrote in a much more satisfying (to you) version of a vague canon event and then you find out how canon (via word of god) actually was supposed to go down. And you’re like hm. Don’t like it.

did we ever stop to ask morrigan how she feels about being tasked by her abusive mom to essentially become a baby incubator turned single mom or were we always meant to just let her go on not processing that wild scenario without so much as a verbal check in with her about it

if you're a Nathaniel Howe lover like me, you probably also subscribe to the belief that he and Cousland definitely hung out as kids (even if only during summers and whatnot)

I firmly stand by the fact that they were besties/worsties when they were babies and then grew apart, only to reunite and sort out their differences later during their time at Vigil's Keep.
