everything you’re saying is completely correct but i do think there’s more nuance in the problems with the way women are written in the show vs just season before season 11 good after season 11 bad. which i’m not saying that’s what you’re saying i just also want an excuse to talk about the way female characters are treated.
there’s a definite difference between the way women are written in the different eras of the show. looking at bgc, there is a LOT of misogynistic humor levied at the women; the women in bgc face more overt misogyny than at any other point in the show. there are also only 3 women over the 5 seasons, compared to the 14 men (the disparity in numbers will continue through all eras of the show, though). however, they’re also WAY more fleshed out than the freelancer women are— and even the post 11 women at times. kai was reduced down to “party girl” in the original post but i don’t think that’s fair at all. for a character who was really only in a little over half a season of the show (pre 16) she has a really dynamic characterization. she’s not immune to the misogyny of blood gulch but she IS a fleshed out character. she’s colorblind; she speaks fluent spanish and knows morse code, implying a proficiency in languages; she has an actual backstory of how and why she joined the army, something that even most of the reds and blues don’t get; she’s bisexual; she’s terrible at picking up social cues; and, most importantly, she’s on the same level as the rest of the reds and blues in terms of power and narrative. kai and jensen are the ONLY female characters who are allowed to be as much of a fuckup as the rest of the cast. and we’ll get to jensen later. (ohio is also a fuckup but she’s barely a character and even then, within the triplets she’s often the most competent!). all of the reds and blues are messy assholes and kai is really the only female character that is actually equal to them (tho even then, her status as a little sister character does give her an element of being below the other characters— not to even mention the fact that she literally was not named besides her title of how she related to a male character). as for kai in 16-17. we already wrote about this in a much better way than we’re doing here so. go read those posts.
sheila is a really interesting character because like. she is literally a tool for men to ride around in and use. but she is also, imo, maybe the best written female character? besides maybe kimball? but sheila and kimball’s problems are very similar, actually. looking at sheila in a vacuum, she’s unbelievably dynamic and imo compelling. she’s a military tank who’s purpose is to kill, and she does take pleasure in violence! but she’s also. motherly? and a romantic. and vindictive and jealous. and caring and kind. she has multiple arcs, which is a trait she shares only with carolina (and kind of tex? tex’s arcs are. complicated.) she’s like. a really interesting character. there’s such a deep well there. but her problem is not a problem with her, it’s a problem with the rest of the show. her motherly behavior and general competence puts her on a higher pedestal than the reds and blues have. and like. there isn’t a problem with writing a woman who’s motherly. especially since she’s so fleshed out besides that. like, toriel isn’t a misogynistic character just bc she’s a mom. but the difference between toriel and sheila is that undertale has countless female characters with contrasting traits while rvb. does not. if rvb had tons of other female characters all at different levels of competence and personality types than sheila would be perfect. but it does not. and as it is two out of the three female characters in blood gulch are at least in part defined by how they take care of the male characters around them.
which i guess i should talk about kimball bc she has the same problem. kimballs actual writing is FANTASTIC. but again, chorus has numbers issue. out of the 10 new main characters introduced during chorus, only three of them are women. better numbers than bgc, but still not great. and if we consider ALL characters, not just new ones, then out of the 22 main characters, only four are women. and three of those four women are, again, hypercompetent and taking care of the men around them. there is more of a nuance to this dynamic in chorus bc i do think chorus has overall the best treatment of female characters but there’s still a lot of issues there.
especially with jensen. i do like jensen a lot, and i do really appreciate getting another cringefail woman to the cast. unfortunately her entire plot line is about the fact that she’s a woman. obviously, being a woman is an important part of. being a woman. but nearly everything about jensen’s arc is about how she’s the girl. simmons’ whole thing in 12 is his “nerdy” misogyny of seeing women as some untouchable separate species. which, funny enough, is kind of a microcosm of the entire issue with the shows treatment of women. make no mistake: the fear of women is rooted in misogyny. simmons behavior towards “volleyball” (refusing to give her a promotion because she intimidated him) is just as misogynistic as tucker’s (wanting to give her a promotion because she’s attractive to him). and this is never dealt with. (the misogyny is, in fact, doubled down in psas, but if i want to start complaining about the psas i’ll be here all week). even like, her trait of being bad at driving is a misogynistic stereotype? and like. i don’t think that was the intention there but you can see the problem when whole reason for existing in the first place was for a man (her boss) to be misogynistic at her. and then giving her a romance plot with palomo is like. we get it. she’s the girl. men attracted to women. can she please at least get an apology for how simmons treated her please.
you’ve explained a lot of the issues with the pfl ladies but again, the only characterization that women are allowed to have during the pfl era is “hypercompetent bitch”. obviously, all of the freelancers are hypercompetent, given their status as elite soldiers, but even within their ranks all the women are presented as being cutthroat, extremely capable, cold-hearted bitches, while the men are allowed to be soft, caring, lovable goofballs. york and north are allowed to wax poetic about the morality of pfl while CT yells at wash to “wake the fuck up”. wash and york are allowed to have major fuckups on their missions with little consequence shown to the audience while when north and south fuck up their mission, only south is blamed for it, and when she points out how unfair that is it’s treated as a tantrum and it’s never acknowledged that she’s right. there IS a double standard. wyoming, the one male character who was presented as being as cutthroat and cold blooded as the rest of the pfl women are, is just. written out. looking at numbers again, pfl has the best ratio but it’s still off. out of the 14 main characters, 5 are women. i didn’t even include wyoming or any of the innies in that count. out of the 5 women, ALL of them are hypercompetent and four of them are consistently characterized as “bitches”. and you could make an argument for 9er having that trait too. out of the nine male characters, NONE of the freelancer men have really. any negative traits. the only men who are presented in a negative light are the villains.
last but not least is shizno. i don’t have a lot to say here but. starting with kalirama— do you remember how excited people were when she first showed up. why was she just dropped. the fact that she was dropped was so egregious that the writer for 17 literally made chrovos a women to make up for the fact that he thought kalirama wasn’t utilized enough. i’m not joking that’s literally the reason. and about chrovos. look i think the god of all time not having a set gender is good and makes sense but. i kinda wish she was like. actually fluid in her gender and changed formed a few times. bc as it is she’s just kind of. a trans woman. and there’s nothing wrong with making your time god villain a trans woman (it’s actually awesome and everyone should do this) but when that’s. the only trans character you have. and it’s introduced with a joke about a sex change (in character comment for donut to make but. it still sucks) it’s like. it’s like. don’t do that.
and then dylan. she’s fine. i think she should’ve been way more unhinged. the thing is she is kind of unhinged in the first few episodes? like she shoots jax without remorse. she breaks into active military investigations. she negotiates a man’s suicide. but it feels like the second she gets with the reds and blues all the interesting parts of her character vanish and she just turns into. nice lady who takes care of the men around her. again. AGAIN.
it’s tiring. no more women who have the only brain cell. no more hypercompetent women who take care of men. from now on we only write cringefail lesbians.
(also i want to be clear here that when i call a woman’s characterization “bitch” i am not calling her a bitch, i am saying that that is how the writers are characterizing her. “bitch” is a character trait to misogynistic men, which is essentially “woman who has too much power and doesn’t respect men and you should hate her for it”. “bitch” isn’t just “woman who’s mean” it’s specifically about how the woman interacts with men (though sometimes that man is just the male author). as an example: despite being possibly the most cruel woman of the cast, grey isn’t characterized as a “bitch” because she’s never presented as being cruel for how she undermines a man’s character. contrast that with CT, who is literally in the right, but still gets the “bitch” characterization because of treatment of wash.)
In general up until like season 11 most of the women in the show are very one dimensional and they're often ignored until they can move along the guys plotlines. They’re also focused on a lot less. Aside from like. Carolina. The girls are all shelved over and over. Kai just got straight up removed for like 7 seasons. Comparing the girls to Redteam. Both are part of the plot but aren’t the main focus of the story, but red team gets fleshed out dynamics, diverse characters, multi faceted personalities, even Donut the guy whose personality is “gay jokes” gets hobbies and friends and interesting interactions. And the girls get. The angry one. Died to further the plot. Party girl. Hell Tex gets killed over and over to give motivation to the Churches. A lot of the depth and complexities of the girls has to be made up by the viewer. And while there are good women leaders in the show, there are like no girls who are allowed to have character development sans Carolina. They’re not allowed to make mistakes or grow from them. Their shows of emotions aren’t taken seriously by anyone around them. The girls are for the most part not allowed to be anything but perfect. When they make any mistakes they're immediately made out to be the bad guys. South is literally designed to be hated for traits that she shares with people like Sarge and Church. Ct is killed to give Wash trust issues and as a way to push her bf guys existence into the story and explain desert!ct. In general I absolutely love the girls and think they deserve better than what they got. For the person (tried to @ them but tumblr wont let me?) in the comments of one of my posts who asked me to explain why i think the way rvb women are written isn't good, thanks btw /gen. I love excuses to write out my thoughts <3

RvB 20th rewatch: s13
And here we are… at the end… I delayed watching this like a whole day I swear I am going to die
The Tartarus crew with Felix is just a speed run of what he did to the fans
“Hey that’s intolerant” // “you’re intolerant!”
Rip Stassney 😔
13 really knocks it out of the park right from the beginning on every angle- comedy, drama, animation… they held nothing back
I want it noted that I think Tucker dancing and Sarge being his backup vocals is a VERY important animated goof. I love them.
God I love Carolina and Church
GRAY!!!!!!!
“It’s Christmas come early, unless you’re looking at it from the pirates point of view, in which case it’s the opposite” // “Hanukkah?”
God I love when Church gets to be dorky
Man they gave us og blue team silliness they fucking knew what they were doing
“Yeah that’s tough I’m crying on the inside” quoted line
Have we considered Grayboose-
WHEN THE VOICE OF ALIEN JESUS TALKS DOWN TO YOU YOU DO NOT RESPOND WITH WHATS UP
“Don’t psychoanalyze me” heavily quoted line
GOOD DAD TUCKER
Church not responding to Epsilon was always an interesting touch to me
CAROLINA AND CHURCH MY BELOVED
Sometimes I remember how Church is a copy/memory of a copy of Carolinas father and then I see how he sometimes gets all protective over her and I lose my fucking mind
CAROLINA HAS REDISCOVERED HER INNER SILLY MY GIRL I LOVE HER IM SO PROUD OF HER KAVSKAJALHDKAJSKH
You know Counselor I’d also kill the Director if it meant not having brain worms for a 21 year old web series that ruined my life
THE POWER OF LETTING YOUR VILLAINS BE A LITTLE SILLY
WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT PAST TENSE BULLSHIT
Correct Caboose IS a true warrior
SANTA
Game Grumps cameo
JINKIES ITS SHARKFACE
You know the bad thing about the whole Doc thing is that the first time I watched this I legitimately did forget about him being gone 😭
BUT THE WAY I CHEERED WHEN OMALLEY CAME BACK I WAS SO HAPPY I LOVE HIM
Wash was so real for his taunting Locus
THE CALL BACKS THIS SEASON ARE SO GOOD
Tucker really pushed to his wits end
“Gotta go faster” Carolina is sonic the hedgehog
AKAHSKAIHAKSHAKSHKS EPSILON FAILING AJHSKKANSKJDKDJSKWNK
Petty little sister time: my brothers fr missing out on the beauty of this season it’s so fucking good and I get to enjoy it alllllll to myself in this family :3
Speaking of petty sisters: Love Church just being like how do I not get killed by my sis when she wakes up
Take yourself… fuck yourself… with yourself
Carolina and Church have a moment and I need a lobotomy
“I can’t lose another family” somebody sedate me
“Complete and total faith in one another” SOMEBODY SEDATE ME
Doyle you will always be famous to me
Rip sharkface
God… Doyle’s sacrifice, Epsilon and Carolina, the music…. Fucking… G O D the power…
And then KIMBAL SPEECH GOD
Also I cackle every time the army’s start firing their guns cause like WE JUST ESTABLISHED THEYRE LOW ON WEAPONRY AND AMMO AKSHKHSKDJJS
AND THEY LET CABOOSE DRIVE THE TANK!!!!
Counselor was so real for wanting to just nope out of there
“The moment Donald Doyle blew half your troops to hell” frothing at the mouth THAT LINE DELIVERY
Just kill me
It’s been a hot second since I’ve gotten to say this but Sarge being the one to understand that Wash is being genuine when he says he believes in them? SARGE HAS THE BEST CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT IN THE SERIES!!!!!!!
I love how Felix is fully animated while the reds and blues are mostly machinama in the final fight
OH PLEASE IM THE ORIGINAL BAD BOY
“What is wrong with you people” they are a bunch of deranged little weirdo assholes and I love them dearly 😊
RIP FELIX YOU LITTLE RAT BASTARD
Insane that they had a great set up for future stories with Locus and then proceeded to do nothing with it
KAI!!!!!!! AND JUNIOR!!!!!!!!!
Ever think about how they won… like they did it… they defeated the bad guys and sent the message… the only reason things end the way they did is because Hargrove couldn’t lay down and accept defeat… they fucking won and it still wasn’t enough to save them…
they truly were doomed by the narrative
SHEILA!!!!!
He’s so… BALD
GOD CHURCH SEEING TEXS HELMET
“Not this time buddy” kindly requesting to be taken out back and shot
What the fuck do I even say? They made the perfect ending. They pulled out all the stops, the callbacks, the character development, trocadero went harder than they ever had before, they wrapped up all the remaining loose ends of project freelancer… it was thematic and beautiful, it fit the themes of the show, it was tragic, it ended the only way RvB can… with Church dying for good. There’s no version of this story where he lives…. Where they’re not doomed
And thus concludes my 20th rewatch of RvB 1-13… truly the show ever. of all time. It manages to be just as powerful now, 8 years and 20 rewatches later, as it was the very first time I watched it as a little 15 year old girl who decided to watch that silly halo show my brothers were always quoting because I was bored one day.
Anyway sure glad that’s where the show ended and it definitely didn’t get dragged on for way too long with mediocre seasons and an unsatisfactory ending or anything like that… wouldn’t that be crazy

Dislikes: Pervert, Bullies, Director, Charon Hargrove, Aiden Price, Sigma, Hargrove, Wyoming and Gamma knock knock jokes, Seeing his friends and his family die or fighting each other, Jinxing, Don’t like people calling him a kid, People using his unfinished weapons.
Good Traits:  Personality-wise, Frøy is a calm yet cheerful, and somewhat laid-back young man, especially around his friends, the Reds and Blues. He was considered relatively normal other than his unparalleled prodigious talent in acting even as a child and his quick wit and intelligence like reading complex books. Performing acting jobs was something he was open to and excelled at.  He has a sharp mind and is perceptive, quickly adapting to any situation, and very good at studying, He makes sure he gets the job done by making sure that his friends focus on the battle, but still unsure about his future. Frøy frequently sacrifices himself for others, showing that underneath that arrogant exterior, there's a heroic and selfless man. He's also quick to point out the problems in a situation. As an actor, he is very diligent and is capable of studying and replicating any person or the character's demeanor fastidiously (from their mannerisms, speech patterns, and even thought processes), so much he was capable of triggering thoughts of the person or characters and others immediately after looking at him. Despite his childish act, Frøy's personality changes 180-degree making him calmer, calculated, and discreet whenever something is important or serious, if someone is in trouble, even a stranger, he talks to them and gives empathy and kindness, and gives them advice help them, this is to said to have a personality that draws people to him, inspiring friendship and loyalty through acts of kindness that could change a person’s world view and thus built meaningful relationships.
Bad Traits:  Cocky, quick-witted, arrogant, impulsive, brashness, smart mouth, liar, childishness, and frequent attempts to pull pranks on his teammates. Frøy has a strong tendency for emotional outbursts in sour situations. When his emotions got the better of him, he became rather impulsive and reckless in his actions to the point of nearly being suicidal. This flaw negatively affects those around him, even as far as indirectly causing a few deaths. He is mostly quick to regain his composure and shows little to no fear in order to protect his friends and fight with his life on the line. Frøy is also known for being a liar, thanks to him being an actor and Wyoming teaching how to lie better for infiltrate and info-gather missions as well for his part-time job as an actor, it was thanks to his skills he was able to manipulate people for his and his friend's advantage.
Fears: Losing his friends and family
Relationships:
Parents: Otoya Kurenai (Father/Deceased), Maya Kurenai (Mother), Jiro/Garulu (Father-figure), Butch Flowers (Father-Figure), Allison Church/Beta (Mother-figure), Leonard Church/Alpha (Father-figure), Riki/Dogga (Uncle-figure)
Sibling(s): Taiga Nobori (Older Brother), Ramon/Basshaa (Little Brother-figure)
Children: None
Significant other: None
Friends: Washington, Tucker, Caboose, Sister, Doc, Carolina, Epsilon (Deceased), York, Delta, Omega/O’Mally, Niner, Sarge, Simmons, Grif, Donut, Lopez, South, Eta, North, Theta, Maine (Deceased), CT, Iota, Wyoming, Gamma, Felix, Palomo, Jensen, Bitter, Smith, Kimball, Doyle (Deceased), Megumi, Nago, Leo Vermillion, Team RWBY, Team JNPR, Aruto Hiden, Fuwa, Yua, MBJR family, Izuku Midoriya, Vice, Daiji Midoriya, Sakura Midoriya, George, Hiromi
Enemies: Director (Deceased), Counselor (Deceased), Hargrove, Meta (Deceased), Sigma (Deceased), Locus (Formerly), Felix (Formerly), Blue and Red, Chrovos, Zero, Taiga (Formerly), Bishop, Rook, Salem, Cinder, Giff, Deadmans, Imagin, MBJR.net
Allegiance(ally): Chorus
Backstory:
Frøy Kurenai is a Fandiri, a half-breed Fangire, thanks to his late-father Otoya Kurenai, who is a human, and Maya Kurenai, also known as the Queen of Fangire. He is known as the youngest soldier to joined Project Freelancer, and station to the Blue Base. When he was young his mother left him with little explanation and left him with his guardians, Jiro, Riki, and Ramon, who are actually the last survivor of Wolfen, Franken, and Merman because of Fangire King ordered his elites to kill them for some reason.
When he was at the age 7, he saw a photo of his mother and remember that his mother left him, wanting to know the reason why, he decide to leave his home and go on a search for his mother with his best friend and partner Kivat the 3rd, but without a bit falling out with his father-figure, Jiro.
During his search he was caught in a crossfire during the war, trying to help the people that also caught in the crossfire, Frøy decide to protect the people by grabbing any weapons he could find and used himself as a distraction to lead the aliens away from the people and kill them, he would have used Kivat in order to transform into Kiva but he can’t used it ‘cause the aliens can not know about the existence of the 13 Mazoku Clan as they need to be a secret.
Frøy continue to fight and kill aliens to the point of exhaustion, until he was saved by a squad of soldier from the UNSC and decide to joined the military so he could get stronger in hopes to help and protect himself and the people and maybe able to find his mom, plus, he doubt he could go back to having a normal life consider that he kill all this aliens, especially after what happen with his family after their fight and argument. After Frøy join the UNSC, he was given the codename “CrossFire” for able to fight in that incident, and he became a quick learner with weapons, combat, and engineering.
At the age of 10 he was recommended by the Director and the Counselor of Project Freelancer, thinking that he would be a huge asset for the project because of his skills and able to survive in any event as if he is an adult. Of course, there is a lot of people protest against this but Frøy decided to join the project hoping it would help him able to help people better, so he agreed and join the project as Agent Rhode Island, and was able to clime his ranks, and was able to join the Alpha Squad of the Project.
Not a lot of the Alpha Squad or any of the Agents liking that a 10 year old kid was able to show off, but as time went on, they started to warm up to the kid, even Wyoming and South started to like him, heck, Frøy started to have father and son relationship with Florida just like with Jiro, in the end, the Alpha Squad became his family. But that ended, when he was about to be 12 years old, when one of the mission that involves The Insurrection that caused him to have his burned scar and got half of his body crushed by the remaining building that collapsed during their escaped, making him suppose to be dead. (Think like Obito when first died in Naruto Shippuden)
After the mission, apparently Frøy is still alive inside of the rubble thanks to his Fangire genetic having more durable and their healing factor, so Kivat inform Jiro, Riki, and Ramon about what happen and decide to rescue Frøy consider he still alive under it. When Frøy woke up, he found himself in his room on his bed, and when he looks around he saw Jiro sitting beside his bed on a chair sleeping, he must have waiting for him to woke up. On the next day, Frøy have a meeting with his guardians to have a talk about why did they save him despite told them to leave him? Apparently despite the hurtful words, they still care for him and love him no matter how much he hates them, after all they are family, and since then, the Kiva family has been reunited at last, and Frøy decide to try going to school, to try to have a normal life and become a musician and actor just like The A-Squad wants for him, especially Florida.
The Blood Gulch Chronicles:
It has been 4 years, Frøy is 15 about to be 16 and was able to graduate middle school a year ago though he decide to do home-school instead, it has been peaceful with Frøy experience a normal life like any other teenagers do. That is until a message from his helmet from the project, that one of his friends Tex in need of help with something. Knowing someone in need of help he decide to pack some stuff and suit up his armor and go to help her, his guardians, of course, doesn’t like any of this one bit, but they respect his decision on wanting to help his friends.
When he was tracing the message, it lead him to place called Blood Gulch. That’s when he meet Tex and Church, which the both of them knows each other and Frøy. Apparently Frøy knows Tex because not only he knows her from the Project but also she is one of the soldiers from the squad who saved him from the Crossfire and he knows Church because he met him during his time in the Project when he knows him as an A.I. named “Alpha” when he’s bored or has free times to spare, he tends to spend it by hanging around with Frøy.
After that it went the same like in the canon, except when Church time travelling using the time distortion with Gamma, Church then check on Frøy and found out about him being an A.I. known as Alpha when he saw a file of evidence from the Project and his memories came back to him, and Tex met up with York and North when the Blues returned to Blood Gulch so they can help her protecting Church, Florida and Wyoming are still alive thanks to Frøy and his father-son relationship with Florida and was able make a deal with Wyoming that if he helps them making sure that Tex doesn’t have Omega then he gets to live on their surveillance, which they succeed on having Omega but Tex still explode with the ship.
After Tex gone with Gamma, Tucker son and the alien, things went peaceful for the Reds and Blues, Florida rejoins the Blue Team, York and Frøy decide to join the Blue Team while North and Wyoming decide to join the Red Team, it took time for the Reds and Blues trust on Wyoming, and him trusting on the Red and Blue, but after having a heart-to-heart with York, Delta, North, Frøy, and Church about losing Gamma, the only friend and partner he could trust, and told him about the truth of the Project, he decide to have trust on them and in exchange they trust him back.
When the relocating has started the Freelancer decide to split up to make sure that everyone is okay, York decide to join Church, North join Tucker, Wyoming join with Simmons and Grif, Florida join with Caboose, and Frøy decided to stay to keep an eye out with Lopez, Sarge, and Sister in Blood Gulch, he had a feeling that something about to get interesting here.
The Recollectioin:
It has been almost been a year since the Omega fiasco, and everything seems to be normal until Recovery One also known as Agent Washington came by in order to hunt down the Meta so he go to Blood Gulch consider there has been an A.I. sighting over there. That’s when he not only met Sarge, Lopez, and Sister but also Agent Rhode Island also known as Rouge or Frøy, they catch up until Wash explain to him his going to hunt down the Meta, and Frøy decide to help him on this mission with Sister.
Things still the same like in the canon only that Wash didn’t kill South thanks to Frøy and York stopped him when he was about to, and Church the Alpha and the rest of the A.I. fragments are alive thanks to Frøy able to convince with Wash not to use the EMP and let him handle on, and let him fight against the Meta with Church and Omega by using his enhancement unit that he made called “Overdrive.”
Overdrive, pretty much a state of hyper-focused attention and energy that enhances one’s performance and where the full extent of their talent can be expressed, when activated the users usual experiences drastic increases in sensory perceptions, coordination and reflexes, to the extent that the observable environment appears to progress in slow motion, and not only that even with single A.I. fragment, not only the users able to use multi enhancement unit but also the A.I. won’t be able to destroy themself, the down-side is that they have time limit and it only takes hour for the recharge to complete even with A.I. help, so it was a last resort sort of thing. But they were able to beat the Meta and Church was able to reset all the A.I.
After the battle Frøy and Church decide to take the fragments and return them to their respectful partner. Wash, who decide to stay making sure that they are okay and help them in anyway, came by and told him that he should go before the UNSC soldier came, consider that he is trespassing and destroy a lot of military property while Wash stay and report what happen here and if things went according to plan then Caboose should give Epsilon to the UNSC as evidence.
A year went by, and Frøy and Church reunited with the Blues, then the Reds and Blues are sent to Vahalla, South decide to join the Red Team, and everything are still the same in the canon but in this case CT or Connie is still alive thanks to a alien pod that allows her to heal any injury, and since the A.I. fragment are alive Frøy decide to have them partnered up with the rest of the Freelancer, Delta still partnered with York, Theta with North, Gamma still with Wyoming, Eta with South, Iota with Connie, Omega with Florida, and Church/Alpha and Tex/Beta with Frøy, while Sigma well let’s just Frøy and Church deleted him.
Project Freelancer:
Honestly there’s nothing change from here consider this arc mostly about Epsilon in the memory unit and a lot flashback of the Project. So yeah, everything still the same like in the canon with add my oc and all the A-Squad, minus Maine, are alive.
The Chorus Trilogy:
Nothing has changed in Season 11, other than that Frøy knew who’s Felix and Locus consider that those two were in the same squad who saved him during the Crossfire Incident, and during their separation the one with Wash group are: North, Florida, and CT while with Tucker group are: Frøy, Wyoming, South, and York.
In season 12, nothing has changed except that in my AU, Felix here is a bit difference not only he is a big Star Wars nerd and actually care for the Republic and the Reds and Blues, but also he is also the good guy in this AU because when the Reds and Blues reunited Felix accuse Tex of killing Siris who is good friend of him and Locus, their voice of reason and the glue to each other, thanks to the evidence that one of Hargrove mercenaries, Jackson (he’s pretty much like the Felix in the canon) gave him. But the truth is, Tex didn’t really kill Siris but Jackson killed him when Siris learns the truth of what Hargrove did to Felix by killing him and turn him into an A.I. and brainwash him, thinking he still a human and used him as nothing as tool later for experiment. Thanks with Frøy, Tucker, and the two Church of Alpha and Epsilon, they were able to expose the truth to Felix, the Feds, and the Republic, making Felix turn his back on Locus and Jackson, and stop the war between the Feds and the Republic.
In season 13 is quite the same nothing has changed, Epsilon still died to protect his friends and his brothers, Locus kill Jackson for turning him into a monster and letting his friends died, Frøy decide to give Tex to Carolina, Felix decide to joins the Reds and Blues and became Frøy second A.I. partner, and thanks to Felix, Frøy was able to upgrade the A.I’s making them able to run a multi-enhancement without destroying themselves and removes any limit.
Notes:
This was Inspired by this fanfiction: Friendship is Timeless by Seanzilla1988, Rosario to Kiva by Dr. Exposition, MBJR Heroes AU by Usagi_chan8, RvBvRWBY series by DocTokuMA and Ac3 Productionis, Going Native by thewhitepatch, You’re Alpha; You’re Church. by Athena_Yule, Unit Cohesion by Sroloc_Elbisivni, Finiding Washington by HBossWrites, Everyone Lives by urbaninja, and A Schrodinger State by notmadderred.
I’ll be honest guys, the moment I watch Red vs Blue, I love them and when I read the stories that inspired to make this I fell in love with them and can’t help of having a crossover of RWBY and the Kamen Rider series and their crossover fanfiction. And as you can see in the background there is no “The Shisno Paradox” arc, why? Well that’s because in this AU they don’t exist and has been replaced by an arc that I called the “RvBvRWBY Riders Horizon”.
This Arc is something like Seanzilla and his co-worker made in their Kamen Rider Crossover stories, but different? Basically, in the RvB world the Tokusatsu of Kamen Riders, Super Sentai, and Ultraman exist and there almost common knowledge, and one of the reason why the “Shisno Paradox” arc don’t exist because of who Kamen Riders I’m adding to this AU and yes, “Riders” with plural which mean I’m adding more than one Kamen Riders in this story because I couldn’t choose one of them because I love them so much, and they are: Kiva, Den-O, Revice, and Zero-One. So yeah, since the time travel with Den-O and the Shisno Paradox are a bit different, I decide to remove that arc in order to make sense.
In the RWBY world, Team RWBY and JNPR, and their newest friend Leo Vermillion, who is a Singularity Point, has been attacked by a Imagin and somehow the DenLiner appear out of nowhere and kidnap them, and before they knew, they somehow in the world of RvB and that’s when Leo and his friends meet with the owner of DenLiner and explain to them about Imagin, Den-O, and Leo being a Singularity Point, and that he has allies consider his not only one who is a Singularity Point only just they have a different power than Den-O.
When he become Den-O, that’s when they meet Frøy Kurenai as Kamen Rider Kiva and the Reds and Blues, Aruto Hiden as Kamen Rider Zero-One with the Fuwa, Yaiba, and the MBJR family, and Izuku Midoriya and Vice as Kamen Rider Revice with his adopted family, (and yes this is the Izuku Midoriya from BNHA, I really like that anime, so sue me for wanting this kind crossover) and together they became Team FLAM (Flame), and together they go on adventure where they help each defeating their enemies: Fangires, Imagin, MBJR.net, Deadmans, and Salem.
I also going to make their PKMN Team but that depends on my motivations, and have the time to make it.
I also made some short story of a scene from a couple of episode, I maybe going to make more of this but from a scene in a few of episode include the PSA episodes, so here are the list for the story if you like to read it. I hope you all like the story I made.

alright my own long held rvb theory is that the filss we see in hargroves ship is actually the original shiela copy and my reasoning is that filss specifically mentions being recovered, which wouldn't have been possible from the freelancer facility since the director specifically did delete her, but the one copy that did remain was in the ship that tex took which we also saw in s10. plus hargrove went after any and all remnants of pfl since he even went as far as saving tex's old broken helmet, so im more confident than not that the filss we see in s13 is indeed our original shiela recovered post s10 but before s11 after the reds and blues received their public pardon from hargrove himself, which would have alerted him to that copy existing after the reds and blues told their side of the story

My understanding is they’re not actually insurrectionists, that’s just what PFL uses as a “kill these guys for the force of good” dogwhistle, because, I think, “insurrectionist” is to the UNSC as “communist” is to US politics mid-twentieth-century.
I just take what (Carolina? I think? I can’t remember where these impressions came from sorry. I’m mostly quoting old fandom analysis from vague memory. It’s entirely possible I’m talking out of my ass) said about them being UNSC personnel who have been contracted out by Charon Industries in a dodgy-as-hell-if-you-take-the-law-at-face-value-but-actually-pretty-par-for-the-course military-private industrial partnership.
Charon Industries tells their personnel they’re fighting paramilitary rogue groups trying to steal the good-guy-Charon Industries’ projects and information which would be horribly destructive in the wrong hands, because Hargrove does not appreciate being stolen from, but reporting PFL to the UNSC for stealing shit Charon was not supposed to have would just be telling on himself. A select group of innies, through means unknown that have to do with CT, have realized this is… actually pretty true but not quite as straightforward it was represented to them. PFL tells its agents they are fighting insurrectionists who have a shady relationship with the shady Charon Industries, because the Director wants assets Charon Industries has. In reality, both PFL and Charon Industries are deeply tied with the UNSC (PFL being a UNSC project, Charon being private but with such heavy financial/industrial ties to the UNSC that Hargrove is able to weasel into the Oversight Committee and bend some laws about use of UNSC personnel for private interests to the breaking point). But both are breaking the fuck out of many big serious laws. Not just the torture within PFL, PFL’s absolutely buck-wild destruction of civilian zones and infrastructure, and everything Charon does on Chorus - those are trodden well in canon, but the implication is also there of PFL using whole-person flash-cloning (which is needed for the creation of a smart AI from a living person and involves destroying the flash clone’s brain. Probably several flash clones, because even Halsey didn’t get it right the first time), violating the Cole Protocol (okay I managed to find where I was getting a lot of this from go read Anne’s posts they make rvb make some actual sense e.g. https://anneapocalypse.tumblr.com/post/169326111451/tuckerfuckingdidit-izzybutt) and of both PFL and Charon Industries appropriating a war-prisoner huragok (and probably other covenant artifacts and prisoners, because I doubt it’s just one) that should not have been in private possession. As well, both are fundamentally pursuing the selfish goals of one Big Important Man far more than the interests of humanity in the Human-Covenant War, but they do enough for the war that they’re not looked at *too* hard and the extent of PFL’s crimes aren’t realized until after the end of the war and Charon Industries crimes aren’t recognized until after the battle of Chorus.
I just find it really fun to add another level of fucking absurdity to the Chairman and the Director’s passive-aggressive email warfare to know that they’re both just out here breaking every law like it’s the fucking purge while swinging their dick around at the other like I Am The Big Important Military Official Man You Hooligan Criminal. And both know at least some of what the other’s done on account of their slapfight over at least one thing neither should have, but they can’t *say* that’s the reason, because again, telling on themselves. So instead they’re in a race of covering up their own crimes versus trying to sniff out crimes of the other that they are not themselves implicated in. Hargrove wins, the Director is mostly past the point of giving a fuck by then.
anyways, this is all kind of tangential to the point of wondering what the personal motivations and innermost thoughts and values were of the core group of innies CT was collaborating with were. I want to know, too! I would be so into hearing people’s theories and fanworks on those. *chinhands*
Got to thinking about the Insurrectionists (Innies) from RvB. They need more to do cuz they exist for like...purely just cannon fodder for freelancers to kill with impunity?
And they're fucking Insurrectionists right? That means they should have a semi-cohesive belief system the helps us understand what their goal is with Insurrection? And like, yeah, Isle isn't/shouldn't just monologue the whole backstory and beliefs of the innies, but fuck we should know SOMETHING about what they believe!
Can you fucking IMAGINE? Imagine getting a cohesive ideology for an antagonistic faction. Literally in S13 if they gave Sharkface 1 line that addressed it further that'd be infinitely more helpful. Sharkface could've been Temple and we'd have had just as much idea what the innies goals were after season 13.

drawing advice: learn how to draw fat people. learn how to draw a variety of ethnicity specific facial features and hair textures so the POC you draw don't look like white folks with a tan skin tone slapped on
use references. do shape analysis. trace!!! for the love of fucking God stop being afraid to trace for practice. I do this over poses to help figure out where the skeleton is and how things are connected. I outline the shapes that make up a complex surface to better understand it. it's not illegal. no one will slap your hands or take you to jail for unpublished, unmonetized practice sketches.
I spent a while going over screenshots of Price's face to figure out how to draw him. This is what I ended up with as an initial study
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and here's the bust I did for further painting practice, with a lot of color picked palettes for assistance. color picking can be helpful in finding the relationships between colors within a particular skin tone
Tumblr media
And grif from my shirt cut meme. Fat lays different than muscle. Don't be afraid of fat. It's just a part of the body like anything else.
It folds at creases, it stretches downwards because of gravity, it holds different shapes than just muscle with little fat. (This is from last summer and I'm already seeing things I'd like to change... 💀)
Tumblr media
And his sister Kai. Was trying to work on textured hair a bit more here.
Tumblr media
rvb doesn't have a lot of canon women, people of color or folks that aren't thin and model shaped so please don't take away the little diversity that IS there. challenging yourself to learn to draw unfamiliar things will also help your art skills develop. I'm still working on a lot of things myself (as you can see in the above examples). But it's important to put in the work. ✌️ thanks for reading.

RvB Villains, summarised
Fandom’s awake again, time to post this.
O'Malley: I'm a literal ball of rage and nothing else, constantly trying to make my host murder people. I'm somewhat tempered by the fact that my host is a pacifist, so most of my antics are just Snidely Whiplash-tier stuff, but occasionally the show will remind you what I'm capable of.
Wyoming: I'm a professional killer and I can equal Tex now that she's in a Lopez-body without her strength booster. I also have the most broken power in the entire show, allowing me to avoid death constantly, and even make copies of myself with time-shenanigans. Also I'm classy.
Sigma: I am pure, unfiltered ambition, striving to rebuild my shattered consciousness despite the pieces no longer fitting together, and my host body is an insane brute who cannot feel pain and can equal Tex with her strength booster working.
The Director: I am no physical threat, but I have resources and I am motivated entirely by grief and a desire to make right what went wrong before. I’ll casually fire a MAC Cannon at a civilian target and I’ll send a robotic copy of my dead wife to blow up any evidence that I sent my agents to massacre UNSC personnel. I'm also a horribly abusive parent and I tortured a copy of myself to insanity several times over.
Hargrove: Planetary genocide for fun and profit! I will kill your friend in a futile effort to take you all down with me. Please, enjoy the trophy room where I keep Epsilon-Tex's shattered face, the Meta's gun, Epsilon's old bodies, and the gun that my rival used to kill himself.
Locus: I have retreated into an emotionless shell to cope with PTSD and now can only function by following orders and protocol, even if it's clearly the wrong thing to do. This enables me to kill without remorse for the better part of three seasons, while helping perpetuate the Chorus war.
Felix: More planetary genocide for fun and profit. I'm also a total psychopath who will charm your ear off one minute and then slide a knife between your ribs the next because I can, and I will wax poetic about how good it feels to be an unstoppable murderer while I’m doing it.
Temple: In retaliation for being made a lab-rat by Freelancer and having my best friend killed right in front of me, I am going to lock every Freelancer that I find inside their own armour and leave them to starve. I will then keep their paralysed, rotting corpses in my fridge, until I decide to destroy the government for signing us over to Freelancer in the first place. Even if it breaks the space-time continuum.
Genkins: My grand plan is to make a world where everyone has a bum for a face tee-hee.

the amount of time I spend thinking about pre All Of That pfl is actually comical. Did they forget rvb is the Stand around and talk show. Literally how am I supposed to assume these people were ever friends when they’re all at each others throats all the time
fr!!! they’re friendly enough in s9 (not so much in s10), but definitely not at found family level, honestly even friends feels like a bit of a stretch considering they let the whole live ammo thing happen.
ct in particular as a “b plot” needed more not just for herself but also for charon. rvb is all about “Noooo Theres bad people and good people on every side of war………stop fightingggg” but the most we get outside of the leader for charon as a remotely humanized force is demo and girlie talking shit about ct like 😭😭 this goes for the pirates in chorus too Like ok Now Ur ok with gunning down criminals….. either way like What was she doing. Her ass was Not trusted at all how did she find out about Tex and alpha and everything. They were too busy focusing on golden boy york to care or smth /j
yeah charon’s forces are mostly there to act as fodder and are never fleshed out beyond that when the story would’ve heavily benefited from it imo. I mean hargrove was introduced as the good guy (relatively speaking), and in spite of being the antagonist “ct” was also shown to be a good guy (relatively). “I’m begging you (the reds + caboose) to please fix your shit and leave because if you learn anything about this operation I’m going to have to kill you” energy.
so while not totally unreasonable, hargrove acthuallyTM being generic evil politician/CEO who runs a generic evil corporation is just. hrnmg. it needed more time to stew and we needed to get to know more about hargrove to get the full picture. the most compelling trait we know of his is that according to the fan guide he hated how unremarkable his early life was, and the amount of potential that one trait has is honestly insane. hargrove could be so much more than the power hungry politician obsessed with project freelancer.
he could be a man who wanted to be someone who did something worth remembering, he could’ve see the director as an aspiration, someone who was everything and had everything he wished he could be. malcolm hargrove was not lucky enough to be born as someone who was meant to be remarkable, he had to fight his way to where he currently stood, but…being remarkable comes at a cost—the loss of ones humanity. no amount of fame, money, or power can fill that void that formed inside him, but hargrove is in too deep to return to being the unremarkable man he once was—so he pushes forward, left with no choice but to crush anyone who gets in his way.
sharkface too, ignoring that he was mostly brought back for hype and all the other problems with his arc (if it can even be called that tbh), getting to know what the people he considered his family were like would’ve given him a more solid footing than he has in canon when it came to his whole thing with carolina. like I don't, never have, and never will give a fuck about sharkface—but I could see myself being at least 0.001% more interested in him as a character if he wasn't a goofy caricature who really doesn't fit into chorus’ writing…style? tone? idk I can't think of the word.
wash and kimball can even still kill him in armonia because the reds and blues aren’t above killing their enemies if they’ve been given no other choice like with wyoming and the meta, and this could set up a focus on the unaddressed distance between carolina and epsilon from wash and the bgc.
ANYWAY
I like to think that price knew what ms HackerWoman was up to but wasn’t able to do anything about it because:
he has no balls and ct is clearly not the kind of person who would be willing to…negotiate with him
the director refused to listen to his concerns (as usual)
per my hc that wash was covering for ct, price had to be careful of how he approached the situation because wash was a high risk variable whose wrath was not something he wanted to be on the receiving end of (hence wash asking if he could pay him a visit in person at the end of s6 and why price only ever communicated with him remotely. bro did NOT want to get jumped lmao). the UNSC was dead to wash, there wouldn't be anything stopping him from joining ct if he felt pfl betrayed him (all she had to do was give him solid evidence)
this also goes for the twins and how people interpret one or the other as more ‘correct’ or whatever Maybe we wouldn’t have this issue if you had them talk like normal people. Do they even have a proper conversation???
omg yes!!! north and south are both flawed individuals and their relationship most likely fell apart because of issues that predated pfl being forced to the forefront to such a degree that they could no longer—and were not willing to—try to understand the other. it was always them against the world, and neither could cope with being turned against each other.
wash as comic relief is definitely A choice. on one hand it highlights his change from pfl to recovery one. on the other hand….on retrospect wouldn’t it be more strategically advantageous to Keep that personality going forwards so the councilor A. Doesn’t see the shift in demeanor towards the project and B. Underestimates him…? u theorize that’s what he’s doing in pfl as well so I don’t really see why he would change so drastically. “Woobified Wet cat” is much less likely to betray than “Serious Seruous Guy”…..but I guess comic wash lead to the creation of agent Georgia so I can’t be mad, legally
this is why I constantly reference the washed hands interview and treat it as gospel lol. its emphasis on his recollection era characterization (+ R1 and s9) reinforces that as his more definitive characterization, as when compared to recovery one/reconstruction wash, s9 wash is more or less exactly the same, with the main difference being that he comes off as more lenient and trusting in pfl—and he has a good reason to be.
the director and counselor chose to put their faith in him when no one else would, so even when he doesn’t like certain things or disagrees with their decisions, he’s going to give them the benefit of the doubt and have faith that there’s a valid reason to do what they’re doing—most of the time, anyway. he’ll stick his neck out if he thinks he can get away with it, but he’d ideally prefer someone else to do it since he’s not stupid enough to believe the trust given to him is unconditional.

@joltning I present to thee the elaboration requested:
When broken down to the bare essentials Wash and C.T fulfill the same function within the story, and the differences between them as characters mostly results from how the story was executed when it came to them fulfilling that function.
For example, everybody (myself included) complains about how C.T exists solely as a plot device in the Freelancer Saga, but nobody complains about how Wash also exists solely as a plot device in Recovery One and Recollection. I mean Reconstruction is literally the ‘omg theres a plot!?!?!?!?” season of RvB, and without Wash there is no story.
The main reason Wash isn’t perceived in the same way as C.T is due to the level of freedom the writers had when it came to telling the story they wanted to tell. The Blood Gulch Chronicles and Out of Mind set the foundations for Recovery One and Recollection, but it was through Wash that the lore of RvB was reconstructed into a cohesive story. The unexplainable was explained, the unelaborated was elaborated upon, and all the wacky hijinks and random bits and bobs of the previous seasons were tied together in a way that answered the question asked in episode one: Why are all of these idiots stuck in a canyon in the middle of nowhere while being separated into color coded teams that are fighting each other?
C.T however did not have the same level of freedom as Wash, and this is because of pfl’s nature as a prequel combined with the pacing of those seasons. We pretty much already knew everything about her that there was to know, so there was no point in hiding anything or taking it slow because of that, hence the painfully obvious foreshadowing. This approach to the Freelancer Sage, and C.T’s story is what leads to her essentially having the same arc as Wash, just reversed—or more accurately described; mirrored, like Chief and Arbiter in Halo 2.
A majority of the reversal and/or mirroring between them manifests in their personalities, which I actually talk about some here, but some examples of the phenomenon in regards to actual plot points are:
They are both introduced as recovery agents (or rather fake C.T, who was the real C.T at the time, was introduced as a recovery agent). Wash is a single agent recovering human technology from dead Freelancers, and he uses explosives to destroy the rest of the equipment to prevent information leaks. C.T is attempting to recover alien technology from a long dead civilization with the help of other aliens, and he uses explosives to make sure anyone who knows of their operation and presents a problem will be destroyed to prevent information leaks.
We knew exactly who Wash was, who he worked for, and why he was reassembling the blues. We didn’t know who C.T was, who he worked for, and why he was fighting Tucker in the desert.
Wash was shot in the back and survived, but failed to subdue the enemy. C.T was shot in the chest and died just as they were going to subdue the enemy.
In regards to the real C.T, some examples include:
The Meta was portrayed as the primary conflict for Wash, but in reality he had always been aiming for the destruction of Freelancer. On the flip side, C.T’s fight to take down Freelancer is portrayed as the main conflict, but in reality, while poorly explained, tracking down the alien artifacts seemed to be her real goal (which is not as insane as it sounds when you remember that Charon Industries was more aligned with the UNSC proper than pfl was).
Wash never hinted towards his plan of taking out the Meta in Recovery One to South, or his plan for destroying Freelancer to the Reds and Blues until he had the perfect opportunity to strike, and by then he had built enough trust that they were willing to help him out despite his secrecy. If they weren’t, well, he knew what to say to change their minds. C.T however wasn’t exactly subtle with her thoughts and feelings, and she didn’t build any trust with the people around her, so when she finally defected—which didn’t take a genius to see coming—no one was willing to listen to her or take her at her word, and there was nothing she could say or do to change their minds except offering concrete evidence. “I’m starting not to trust you.” vs “I can’t trust you.”
This one isn’t a plot point, but I’m going to mention it anyway because I think it’s a nice example of this subtle yet obvious mirroring I’m talking about, and shows what I was trying to replicate in my blurb that spurred me to finally write this analysis:
Counselor: Agent Washington? Agent Washington? Washington: Sorry, what were you saying? Counselor: Were you thinking about Epsilon again, Agent Washington? Washington: No. Counselor: What happened with Epsilon was not your fault, Agent Washington. Washington: I didn't think it was. Counselor: We have safeguards for the unstable emotional patterns of an artificial intelligence. Sometimes these algorithms fail. Washington: Oh. So then it's your fault. Counselor: We prefer to think of it as no one's fault.
Vs:
Washington: It wasn't your fault, Connie. Connie: Easy for you to say. You didn't drop the ball. Washington: The ball got dropped. We were all there, it's everyone's responsibility. Connie: Dammit, why are you doing that? Washington: What am I doing? Connie: Making excuses for me. I'm not making excuses for myself...why are you?
All I've mentioned above is also why C.T’s relationship with the leader and the plot twist that the C.T in the desert wasn’t the real C.T are disliked by so many, as there was nothing to justify the sudden bait and switch like there was at the end of S6. I mean, considering we see both Tex and South use voice mods to sound like men, it reads as though that was supposed to be the case with C.T as well, which makes it feel like it was changed at the last second because everyone saw it coming.
This is an issue because A) There's nothing inherently wrong with being predictable—a good plot twist always has foreshadowing, even if it won’t be registered as foreshadowing until the twist happens in certain cases—and B) The story of the Freelancer Saga as a prequel was confined in a box created by the previous seasons, and all they were doing was connecting the aforementioned events to tie up a few loose ends and properly establish Carolina's driving force in present day S10.

I'm TRYING to re-think the order of some of the events in my RVB story-line, so it flows a little better as an actual plot (to be fair, the actual series would often leave the end of a season sort of up in the air, and come back with a non sequitur after a lot of time passes, so. shame on me for trying so hard, I guess). I have a lot more little details involved (I'll ramble about those below), but these are the BIG PICTURE aspects that everything else is framed around
The Interviews involve the Reds, Blues, former Freelancers, Doc, Locus, and a few friends from Chorus talking about what they've been through (with some flash-backs thrown in, showing what they aren't all telling). During the Vacations, Donut goes on a big spa-spree, the Grif sibs go back to Hawaii (without a big fuss, Kai may like the attention, but Grif doesn't want people bothering him about being the Famous Orange Soldier), Simmons tries to track down his family (he can't find them), Sarge goes back to sulk in Blood Gulch alone, Wash goes looking for the Triplets, Doc spends some time with Dr Grey and thinks about trying for a medical degree again, Lopez is allowed to just be by himself (and he's honestly kinda bored), Caboose goes back to the Moon, Tucker searches for Junior, Carolina attempts to dig up info about how deep Charon/Project Freelancer really got into all the crime BS, Locus tries to turn himself into the authorities on Chorus (being all "I deserve to die" about it) but Kimball gives him a "life sentence" of community service. Everybody misses each other, and are drawn back together like a bunch of planets caught in the same gravitational pull
-Sarge is contacted by a UNSC group that wants to give soldiers who were Sim Troopers and members of the Flag Zealots "new training", and he doesn't hesitate. He has fun with it for a while, and this is where he meets Poppy... she is how he finds out a lot of the people here were given the option "join this training program or face prison time", which really isn't much of an option at all. He thinks about how the Red VS Blue war was a lie, he thinks about Project Freelancer manipulating the agents, he thinks about Wash having a villain moment to avoid being locked-up, he thinks about Locus believing soldiers are supposed to kill without ever asking questions... and Papa Warcrimes decides he actually hates the military (it's a sign of the apocalypse!). Meanwhile, Carolina has finally gotten some leads about Charon, and she meets Junonia, who helps her find out more regarding the past and what Hargrove is still up to. Gene has also been around, trying to be a solo villain, but he's BARELY a one-man Team Rocket. Finally, the insidious purpose for all this new training is exposed, and Red Team (with their new member, Poppy) gets to have the spot-light when they fight the villain
-Everybody finally goes back to Earth together, and this time, a big celebration is held for their return. They spend most of their time out of armor on Earth, so the general public leaves them alone. Some fun shenanigans with everybody finding ways to amuse themselves (Sarge doesn't like going outside, the sky is too BLUE). Now that she knows where they are (thanks to the welcoming celebration), Tex finally catches up with everybody, revealing that when Epsilon Deconstructed, the information from his memories transferred back to the original Beta unit, reviving her. The Director had this whole plan for eventually bringing Allison back with a synthetic human body made from her DNA sample, but he could never make it "perfect" (Tex isn't an identical clone, more like a genetic "sibling" to Allison). She isn't the only one who found them; the parents Simmons went looking for finally show up (now that their son is a famous space hero). He's more than happy to get their attention, and they have him join their work at a bio-tech company (everybody else immediately recognizes the parents as a-holes, and the business as shady, but try telling Simmons that). Tex was initially hesitant to reveal the other AI Fragments were also revived, what with some left-over sore feelings regarding Sigma and Omega (Wash is ironically more willing to forgive them for everything; he wishes he had been able to do that BEFORE, instead of fighting against them as the Meta, and the whole spiral from there). Carolina talks through emotions with Sigma, and Omega compliments both Doc and O'malley for finding their back-bone. Everybody else is happy to get to know the Fragments better. Some Drama happens with the Reds, but Simmons finally sees his parents don't really care about him, and they all figure out that the bio-tech company has the original Alpha Unit hidden away. They rescue Church, who has the chance to be in his own synthetic body based on the Directors DNA (again, not identical, just similar)
-Everybody gets to CATCH THEIR BREATH, Caboose and Tucker have Church back, Church and Tex get to do people things, hooray! A distress call out there in space tricks Tucker into thinking Junior is in trouble, so he heads out to find his kid (most of the others join him, but a few stay behind because of recovering injures, etc). This turns out to be a trick, Hargrove and Temple are both being jerks. The rest of the gang arrives for a rescue, and Church has each of the Fragments assist his friends for the escape; for Hargrove, this was his attempt to test out a "new version" of scanning a mind to make his own AI (his tech is wonky, and will definitely kill people it scans). For Temple, he's under the impression that if he helps, he can have his own mind scanned, thus giving him a "recreation" of Biff from his memories. Hargrove REALLY wants people who have interacted with the AI Fragments as experiments, since he thinks there is important data to be found from minds like that. Temple just wants to kill the main group because he hates their guts, and it isn't FAIR, why do they get their dead friend back? Also, everybody finds the AI file for Sheila! When things settle down, Grif and Simmons talk, and at last they are on the same freaking page
-After the rescue, Hargove escapes again, and the group hears a distress call from Chorus. Some old problems are going on again, so they swing by to help out. Hargrove has one last-ditch effort to get what he wants in terms of AI experiments... Felix didn't just come back wrong, he came back WORSE. Well, everybody has the chance to work through some unresolved negative emotions aimed at him (Kimball, Locus, Tucker- everybody gets a stab in!). Felix wants to use his sword again, but it recognizes him as "dead". He tries to use a temple that "revives echoes" for key holders, but this just gives him a ghost of Doyle ("It was mine before it was yours"). The Echo also brings back other AI like Santa, who have been programmed to make certain events happen... while everybody tries to deal with Felix AND finally catch Hargrove for good, the Echo creates a whole third problem. At last, a group of aliens arrive, alerted by the Echo, and in the group is- Junior!
-Some happy family reunion time for Tucker and his boy. Junior explains what he's been doing for so long; he wasn't trying to avoid his father, but there are dangerous groups out there trying to kill him, and he's been hiding while also trying to save others. The strange "prophecy" about him, as well as things involving a "Great Destroyer" is indeed true (Gary admits he kind of just made up what it was about, but it really WAS real!) have become more urgent. Somebody who wants to take over and wipe-out anybody who opposes them has been targeting Junior. There are also many other half human/aliens like him, an attempt to create as many potential "prophecy children" as possible, but all were rejected by their human parents and only seen as tools by the other aliens (except for Junior, who is actually loved by his dad... even though they haven't been able to spend much time together). Another temple out in space supposedly has the power to give "continuous life", and the villain intends to use that to win. Tucker and the others try to protect Junior, but the temple doesn't work the way they all think...
-Back on Earth again, life seems to give them all a break... but unusual things begin happening. It eventually becomes clear that there are "new AI gods" toying with them (some are just playful, a few are genuinely malicious). This involves somewhat amusing, if a little annoying, shenanigans (like Wash getting turned into a cat, and a tiny 7-year-old Sarge showing up), but also very dangerous situations. Alternate time-lines and realities collide, some arguably "worst-case scenarios"
-It finally becomes necessary to confront the cause of all this. The group gets pulled into a pocket dimension where a lot of realities intersect. One AI god demands people fight for their amusement, and the winner will get to return to the "reality they want". The group really just wants weird paradox stuff to STOP. Church, Tex, and the Fragments figure out a way to keep everybody from dying, even the enemies they have to fight, until they have the chance to take on the one trying to control everything. Just when it seems like that issue is solved... Donut throws up. Weird, cosmic throw-up, like if the big-bang was a liquid. Being the one who has been traveling through time and reality the most, he's kind of absorbed a LOT of cosmic energy, and he can't control it. A big monster-transformation happens, but everybody figures out how to fix it so they can save Donut. Are we done? Are we DONE now???
-Yes. Everybody has the chance to live their lives, whatever that means for each of them. They get to be happy. Sometimes, bad things still happen, it can be difficult and unpleasant to live- but they still LIVE. Eventually, they pass on too (and that also means different things for some of them). When all is said and done, they're mostly glad they all got to be here~
