Just a little observation.

One of the last episodes of The Weekenders had Carver's older sister, Penny, and one of Lor's older brothers, Kirk, fall for each other.

As for the 4 main kids, there was no intention behind the scenes of pairing either of the boys with one of the girls, or vice versa.

With the exception of Tish, the other main 3 had their own crushes, but these were all played as just childhood crushes — as it should be.

In terms of fan shipping, there's healthy amounts of evidence for pairing Tino with Tish and Carver with Lor, or the other way around, with Carver and Tish, and Tino and Lor.

Future fanfics usually deal with the topic of these kids angsting about growing apart from each other and the world pulling them in different directions.

BUT, here's where my observation comes in.

Say Penny (Carver's older sister) and Kirk (Lor's older brother) did get married.

That would make Carver and Lor siblings-in-law.

If Carver then hooks up with Tish, and Tino gets together with Lor, then through the binding rules of marriage, they all become family in-laws.

Not only do they get the opportunity to stay together (best friends marrying each other cuts out the time spent with third wheels), but staying together in itself is made much more likely when you're all under one family.

many things about the chronicles of Narnia made me irrevocably insane at the small age of six years old but one of the big ones was the bit in prince Caspian where caspian blows susan's horn to try and summon help and it summons the pevensie kids like. that's crazy ok. that's insane. imagine at 12 years old you're given a horn thats purpose is basically summoning divine intervention & then years later someone blows it and summons YOU .
