Thanks to a change in his schedule, Zoro starts running into his attractive blonde neighbor more frequently.

They get to talking while in the elevator, and the man seems friendly enough, though Zoro notices how Sanji takes a step back whenever Zoro takes a step forward. Ok, the guy likes his space, no big deal.

The guy is smart and funny. Theyve butted heads a few times, hes passionate, Zoro respects that, Zoro likes that.

Hes found himself talking to his cat about the blonde more than once, feeling pretty silly about it, but figuring she likes the noise at least.

But the guy keeps his distance. Zoro invites him over for a beer and Sanji politely declines. Zoro brushes by him to get to the mailboxes, and Sanji all but flatens himself to the wall. Zoro invites him to a party his friends are making him host, Sanji turns up, chats up a couple of girls, then dissapears within half an hour of arriving.

And then hes back to blinding smiles and friendly waves when they see each other, acting like hes happy to stop and talk with him.

Zoro is losing his mind and confronts the blonde after another invitation over is turned down. Tells Sanji hes getting mixed messages, that the blonde seems to like him well enough, but also cant stand to be near him, and whats his problem??

Sanji looks taken aback by this, Zoro almost starts to feel bad. "Its just- youre always out here, in your sweats completely covered in cat hair-"

"What, because im not in some high end three piece suit Im not fancy enough-"

"Zoro." Sanji interupts, saying his name the same way one might say 'idiot'. "Im allergic to cats."

He goes on to explain that he took allergy medicine to go to Zoros party, but still ended up breaking out in hives. Also that its devistating because he loves cats, he just cant be near them.

Zoro does feel like an idiot now. Well, he blames the blonde too for not just telling him right away.

Zoro goes into his appartment in a bit of a daze, shakes himself out of it and does what any sane man would do.

He strips down to a pair of cat-hair-free boxers, marches next door, and asks the shocked blonde on a date as soon as he opens the door.

Sanji, once he stops laughing, says yes.

Love how both Branch and Poppy are insane in their own respective ways and that they are truly perfect for each other because they are the only ones who can handle the other's insanity like a champ
