Bat Houses
Plans for Bat houses! Want to help out our flying little friends by building them a home. Here are some wildlife approved plans that are suitable to hosting roosting bats.
Four Chambered Nursery Bat House
Rocket Box Bat House
Looking to really dig into bat house then these are two great resources on bats houses in Canada and the US.
Bat House Builders Handybook
Best Management Practices for the Use of Bat Houses in the US and Canada
Quick tips on choosing a ready made bat house
First off it needs to be the right size. The minimum size a bat house needs to be to keep the temperatures inside stable enough for bats to live in it is 24" x 16" (60cm x 40cm). Smaller than that and it won't retain enough thermal mass to stay stable. Leading to bats getting too cold or too hot to use it long term. This is especially important if you live in a hot climate as bat houses that get too hot in summer can seriously harm baby bats!
Next is avoid any house that has mesh of any kind inside the bat house to provide grip or a rough surface for bats to cling too. The mess is an entanglement risk and as it degrades it becomes more dangerous over time. If you have a house with mesh or that is all that is available to you remove the mesh from the house.

As the show was just deinstalled from its display in UIowa Special Collections, we wanted to offer our congratulations to Leslie Smith for receiving the Handy Books exhibit purchase prize for her book "Inner Rooms." Also recognized with honorable mentions by our jurors were Maggie Heineman, Colleen Lawrence, and Lisa Miles. In her work "Inner Rooms," Smith combines the contemplative and the surprising, wherein the serenity of the individual mind at work—its grasp of and grasping after memory and place—opens itself to unexpected directions. "Gamete•Zygote•Embryo•Fetus•Neonate:" Synthesizing disparate sources and using the book format to imagine anew ideas about fetal existence, Heineman animates the entire piece with intelligent whimsy. In "Toward a Natural History of the Corallines," Colleen Lawrence worries the history and devolution of coral by overturning the book aesthetic of eighteenth-century print, employing white ink and hand lettering against translucent handmade paper mixing gray and indigo coloring. In “An Exploration of Friends; Taking into Consideration that I Love My Friends & I Don’t Eat My Friends; A Brief Internal Inquiry of the Pig: A Sentient Animal Which Possesses Mental Capabilities on Par With a Three-Year-Old Human Child,” Miles produces a homespun keepsake that is by turns edgy, sentimental, and funny, petitioning its audience through a witty use of crafty books that never loses it sharp critique. #bookarts #exhibition #awards #bookbinding #artistbooks #handbound #art #show #craft #uiowa #uicb #uispecialcollections #handybooks #cognition

Hi! During our shut in I want my Samantha to be as comfortable as possible. What kinds of books would she like, other than Oz and Sherlock Holmes. I also have Secret Garden, A Little Princess, and Anne of Green Gables. Is there anything I’m missing? What kind of music would she listen to? I tried searching the music tag but couldn’t find anything. Thanks in advance!
This is such a nice idea! Here’s picture of my Samantha and Nellie’s bookshelf.
Tumblr media
They have Treasure Island, The Hound of the Baskervilles, The Secret Garden, The American Girls Handybook, Alice in Wonderland, Black Beauty, a book of Celtic fairy tales and the Wizard of Oz. I made all these books using foam core and book covers from Google Books. If you want you can print out the inside pages because these books are public domain!
Samantha reads An American Boys Handybook (perhaps it belonged to Uncle Gard?) and Heidi is mentioned in one of the mysteries. (Except I wouldn’t call it cheerful. Wtf American Girl!?)
She could have read books by E. Nesbit like Five Children and It, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain, Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens, Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte and books by Jane Austen.
Check Amazon and ebay for Running Press Miniature editions. I have a miniature copy of Romeo and Juliet from R.C. Brady.

Professional Cleaning Services in London
Tumblr media
zjcleaning): Procuring somebody to clean your house is entangled. Toward one side of the range lies a background marked by local work full of prejudice. On the opposite end rests the dread of being made a decision for having a sink loaded with dishes toward the finish of an especially bustling week. Be that as it may, such as finding a taxi (think: Uber), getting ready supper (we're seeing you, Plate Joy) and a large number of other once in the past tedious tasks, the Internet has reformed the manner in which we keep our spaces clean. Or on the other hand, in any event, it's removed the disgrace from it, disposing of the requirement for individual referrals with its internet booking framework and broad list of cleaning masters. "In the event that you can discover it in your financial plan, having an expert location your chaos can be groundbreaking. Also, it can free you up to be increasingly useful at different things throughout your life," said HGTV's "Home Counselor," Laurie March in a meeting with HuffPost Home. For reasons unknown, reasonableness might be the genuine motivation behind why this new age of "cleaning specialist" administrations have been picking up footing.
Beforehand, it was extremely just open to the wealthiest individuals," says Lynne Tye, San Francisco City administrator for Homejoy, one of the developing number of organizations to plant their banner in the home cleaning space. Their rate - $25 every hour for repeating arrangements and $35 for one-time cleanings, barring tips - rivals those offered by individual new businesses like Handybook, whose one-time, 2-hour cleaning administration will cost you generally $70, making a clean home open to everybody from 30-year-old experts hoping to free up increasingly close to home time to pet proprietors attempting to recover an area from the creatures that live with them. (Look at this value adding machine from Red Beacon.) In any case, don't hope to just hand over your keys to an outsider (however by cleaning industry principles, they have likely been foundation checked) to handle that dark shape your proprietor continues overlooking. Most cleaning organizations place a premium on correspondence between their customers and their cleaning experts, and there are some standard procedures you'll need to set up on the two closures. professional cleaning services in London, cleaning service, domestic cleaning, office cleaning, house cleaning services, home and commercial cleaning home cleaning London, commercial cleaning, end of tenancy cleaning, hassle free cleaning service, best cleaning services in London, domestic cleaning services in London, end of tenancy cleaning prices, best domestic cleaning services, domestic cleaning service, office cleaning services
