a/n: whbsdkfhskfhds i just love the idea of domestic wakatoshi ok !!

Wakatoshi Ushijima was a methodical man.

He was one to run on a schedule, the rigid procedure keeping his body and mind in top shape, but weekends with you, are an exception. 

The sun is fully beaming in all it’s brightness when he drifts out of his wispy dreams, a contrast to the dim light that greeted him on weekdays, and he finds himself shifting away from the window near his side of the mattress, body colliding with yours. 

“Your feet are cold,” you grumble, twisting slightly away from the chilling press against your skin, yet your husband, who never seems to move once he dozes off, scoots closer, much to your dismay as you lift your head from your pillow. “Wakatoshi.”

His response is a jumbled mumble, and when you kick him lightly, fully intending on waking him up as his punishment, he huffs, looking up at you with bleary sleep lidded eyes. 

“Your feet. Get them away from me.” You order, and you both know you’re not actually bothered by that, as Ushijima’s eyes narrow at the twitching upwards curve of your lips before he rolls over, pinning you underneath him as you protest.

“Wakatoshi. Wakatoshi. Can’t… breathe.” You gasp exaggeratedly, as Ushijima puts his weight on you, and the minute he hefts himself up, concerned, you’re quick to scramble away, legs kicking.

This catches him off guard, and in a fumble of sheets, Ushijima is suddenly on the ground, and you’re peering at him concernedly from the mattress. 

“Are you okay?” 

He can see the amused glint in your eyes despite your sincere question, and in a blink of an eye, you’re suddenly tugged down to join him, flailing down upon his chest. The sheets fall upon you both, enveloping you in a halo of white and warmth, and the look Ushijima gives you is adoring, filled with the tranquility and glimmer of a thousand stars. 

He props himself up on his forearms, lips meeting yours gently, and no matter how many times you’ve kissed him, your breath never ceases to be taken away, his hands resting on your waist.

“We couldn’t do this in bed?” You breathe as you pull away, and Ushijima’s reply is dry. 

“You kicked me off.”

“Accidentally!”

Ushijima plants a soft kiss on top of your head. You grumble, eyes remaining shut and head pressed against your pillow. He kisses you again, this time on the lips, in hopes that you finally stir. Again, you refuse to move or open your eyes.

This little game he has to play in order to get you out of bed isn’t uncommon. Most weekends you’re up by the time he comes back from his early morning jog, and if not, by the time he’s finished showering. Then there are days like today, where it takes some effort on his end. Otherwise, you’ll end up sleeping into the afternoon. Given that today is your birthday, that just won’t do.
