People often highlight the fun and exciting aspects of a D/s relationship, like the sex, kink, dominance, and submission dynamics. They boast about how obedient their submissive partner is, and how they handle brattiness by asserting control.
What’s less discussed is the need for support, flexibility, and understanding. Submissives are human, with their own needs and struggles. Some days they may feel strong and capable, while on other days, they may face challenges. There’s no one right way to handle these fluctuations. As Dominants, it’s our duty to adapt, adjust, and help our submissives grow. We will make mistakes, and we won't always get it right, but the problem arises when we stop trying or disregard our partners because they don’t fit an ideal. For me, adjusting, adapting, and compromising doesn’t make me less of a Dom; it shows that I value my sub as more than just a submissive.
I’m fortunate to have a sub who is also the love of my life, and our relationship always comes before the D/s dynamics. Even in a purely D/s relationship, things will always be fluctuating and changing. If you are with a Dom who only cares about what they can get from you and not what they can give, they are not worth your time. You are more than an object; you give more than just your body. You have the right to be treated with respect, value, and appreciation, no matter what you desire in the relationship.
I hope this makes sense.

It's still kinda bonkers that these people have been playing Spore by hand with art for over 17 years!
If you haven't heard of Sagan 4 yet, please go check it out. The spirit of what Spore could've been is very much alive in the efforts of those 100+ artists and the 5600+ species they made and are still making. You can find all of it on the Sagan 4 wiki.

Guys, I'm going to be open and vulnerable for a moment. If you don't want to read, then skip <3
------------------------------------------------------------
July 4th, 2022, I was kicked out of my mother's house. I moved in with my dad but still had to visit my mother every other weekend. My room was a complete DISASTER because of my severe depression. When I lived with my mother, I felt like I could fall apart any moment. Recently, my mother found out herself and her family have to move. This has made me clean my room which has been a strange experience nonetheless. It's taken me a day or two but I'm almost done! (not completely) Cleaning up 10 years of my life has been quite therapeutic. It's almost like I'm taking all the problems and trauma and throwing it away to start fresh. I made this post to maybe inspire people. Although you'll never truly get rid of the trauma you have, it's good to face it head on. I promise you won't regret it. Do art, clean something, talk to someone, write a book. Find a way to face the trauma and grow with it and learn to live with it. Don't let your trauma control you babes. Don't forget that depression takes time <3 drink water, eat something, take a nap, and live. You matter. Hugs and kisses. <3333

“Plants and animals don’t fight the winter; they don’t pretend it’s not happening and attempt to carry on the same lives that they lived in the summer. They prepare. They adapt. They perform extraordinary acts of metamorphosis to get them through."

Do you suffer from same-face syndrome? I can tell the characters apart, but they seem to all be similar.
Tumblr media
Rambled below the line <3
If this was asked a while back I wouldn't have known honestly. I wasn't sure why my designs felt so weird and my 4DALT one felt better-ish. But as of the last 2 years, I've been learning from other artists on youtube. One of them brought up a similar issue and I learned that I can still make very different characterizations with the same head shape, but similar head shapes can cause same-face syndrome.
So I've been trying to see how far I can push the rounded face shape and stretch it between each character. If I drew humans more often there would be a varied face shape to each one. However I prefer cartoons since I can bend and stretch them a little easier and I feel less limited. It's mainly a me problem that I am trying to push through so I can tackle artfight and human characters better.
However, I also have had a bad run with same-body syndrome too. I'm trying to learn from these mistakes though.
Thank you for the fun question. Sorry, it took me so long to get to it. I've been dealing with major burnout, and my project is currently the causing of it.
