Quote
People usually fail when they are on the verge of success. So give as much care to the end as to the beginning; then there will be no failure.

Put this down as a weird reason for hope, but I think people really underestimate the utility and value of sometimes fucking things up.
An example: When I was younger, I in some ways majorly fucked up a situation with a friend, when I was trying to be there for him, but I was in over my head. It ended the friendship. But you know what, that fuckup saved so much of my mental health, because that friendship was really manipulative and bad for me, and I needed out.
Sometimes fucking up is the only way out of a bad situation. Sometimes all you can do is hit your limits, and come what may. Mentally, physically, socially, sensorily, fatigue-ily, whatever it may be.
We can't just do it all - and sometimes fucking up is the only way we know where that line is.
Imperfection isn't always a flaw - sometimes it's a feature.
Anyway, try to not be so hard on yourself for your failures. You never know what they might have saved you from.
Sometimes failure is your body's or your self's only way of asserting its needs. So have some extra self-compassion today.

Be so comfortable making mistakes that instead of seeing failure as a dead-end scenario, you only see it as a redirection to even more growth and success.

#i don't like the word failure because it seems like. sentence pronounced the end #but i have been thinking about something like this a lot in terms of disability #like i saw a post awhile back that said something like 'stop beating yourself up over wasted potential. no you couldn't have' #like 'stop thinking about everything you could have accomplished if only you had tried harder. you did try. it just didn't work' #i think that's what this post is saying. not to declare yourself or your life a failure full stop the end #but to be like... huh. my whole life i was told i could do anything if i tried hard and believed in myself. so *that* was a fucking lie tags by @maculategiraffe
About ten years ago I decided that the next step I needed to take in my life was to accept and explore what it meant to be a failure and to have failed. This infuriated almost everybody in my life and clearly terrified a lot of people. People do not want you to accept failure. They dont want you to like... Sit with and think about it and pick it up and turn it arpund in your hands and really examine it. They want you to keep throwing yourself against the impossible walls until your body explodes! They do not want you to say "alright then, I've failed. What does that mean for me? Im still here. What does the life of someone who has failed look like?"
This makes people very angry and panicky.
My mental health improved in ways it had not in the previous DECADE once I stopped. And. Sat. With failure. And thought about what my failure ... Was. And looked at the structures that produced it and examined them critically.
It is so taboo to fail and admit it openly and talk about it. It is so taboo to talk about or think about failure in an accepting way rather than hiding it shamefully until you experience a degree of success in some area which allows you to present the past failure as "a stepping stone" to your current situation. Fuck that. We are put in positions of guaranteed failure by society every day and then punished and shamed for it. Lets fucking talk about failure
#Mental health#Philosophy#Failure#These tags made me analyse the French word#I don't feel about it the same way as Mac because well it's not the same word#The English word comes from a French verb that itself comes from Latin and isn't really used now#The French word (and the verb we use) comes from Persia via the Chess game#And in chess after you lose well... you can start a new game#Also it kinda became a meme because of a stupid phrase from our president (pleonasm)#“It would not say it's a failure; I would say it didn't work”#(Yes. He said that.)#So all in all I'm not really afraid by the word “échec”.#The feeling however...#With time (lots of time - I'm turning 45 next month) I became better with it and I feel I'm about next to Pip#Something didn't work? See what exactly failed#Change the parameters and start again#And don't blame myself because it doesn't help#It's a lot of (mental) work but... it works

How Trump Killed Every Business He Touched
Trump’s entire candidacy is based on a lie.
TRUMP: I’m really a good businessman. I’m so good at business.
Not true. Trump is a business failure. Almost every business he’s touched, he’s driven into the ground.
RUBIO: You ever heard of Trump Steaks?
TRUMP: Trump Steaks are the greatest steaks, and I mean that in every sense of the word!
RUBIO: You ever heard of Trump Vodka?
TRUMP: It’s a smooth vodka. It’s a great-tasting vodka.
RUBIO: All of these companies that he’s ruined!
It’s true! Trump had a failed board game…
TRUMP: My new game is Trump the Game.
…a failed bicycle race called the “Tour de Trump”…
TRUMP: I think this is an event that can be tremendous in the future. And it can really rival the Tour de France.
…a failed football team.
TRUMP: It’s gonna stay strong. It’s gonna stay strong for a long time.
Trump decided it was a good idea to start a mortgage company in 2006.
TRUMP: It’s a great time to start a mortgage company.
That failed in less than two years. Let’s see, what else was there?
JOHN OLIVER: Trump Magazine, which folded, Trump World Magazine, which also folded…
ROMNEY: Whatever happened to Trump Airlines?
Oh! That was a good one! One of his planes had a crash landing within the first two months, which he insisted was “the most beautiful landing you’ve ever seen.” The business failed within three years.
Trump has even managed to bankrupt multiple casinos. How do you lose money running a casino?
There’s an old joke that the easiest way to make a small fortune is to start with a large one. And that’s exactly what Trump did. Multiple analyses show that if Trump had simply invested his multi-million-dollar inheritance in an index fund and didn’t touch it, he’d be a lot richer than he is now. Think about that. His entire life’s work has been less successful than if he’d done nothing.
And when he was president, Trump ran the country like he ran his failed businesses. He added $8.4 trillion to the national debt — largely through his tax cuts for the rich and big corporations.
Trump has managed to survive every one of his business failures by leaving other people on the hook — leaving workers unpaid and shafting his investors.
The whole idea that Trump is good at business was a carefully-crafted illusion — concocted for a reality TV show. And like a lot of reality TV shows, we’ve come to learn it was all show, and no reality.
The only business Trump has been successful at is conning people. Now he’s trying to do it again. Don’t fall for it.

Lessons from failure
I have failed on a small scale and I have failed largely. Some failures still shock me and some, I have gotten over. Here are some lessons I have learned:
Failure could be the beginning or the end of a goal. Only you can figure this out.
Some failures could be predicted.
It is hard to console yourself when you know you are responsible for the failure.
You may fail because you are aiming too low.
To overcome failure, look into the failures of others.
The last thing to do is worry.
You will not get over it, so find a way to get around it.
It will hurt your self-esteem, so seek other ways to repair it.
To minimize the effect of failure, expand your scope.
Don't attach yourself too much to a person, place, or thing.
Try to learn from it while it hurts.
Do not repeat the same mistake.
If you find yourself going through those same cycles, take a break.
Know when to share your failure and when to keep them to yourself.
Best, know who to share them with, let your journal know before your best friend.
