My DR-self in Naruto is fairly complicated. In some ways I’m over a thousand years old and in others I’m 12 currently. I have my pre-reincarnation self and my post-reincarnation self. Because in my script my pre-self, Himeka Ōtsutsuki, was born as the middle triplet with my older brother being Hagoromo and Hamura as my younger brother.

Since I’m more genetically like Kaguya being more celestial being than human, I became the Ten-Tails Jinchūriki then later created the other Tailed Beasts becoming their “Mother”. I kept just a smidge of the Ten-Tail’s chakra in order to break Kaguya’s will on him. After recovering from that ordeal and taking care of the tailed beasts, I left to go to what is now known as The Hole that is within Hachō Village to preform my final jutsu as Himeka, the Frozen Phoenix Lotus-Style Reincarnation which allowed me to be “reborn” as Daki.

The Frozen Phoenix Lotus-Style Reincarnation is such a powerful jutsu that it takes all of your chakra, no matter how much you have, and reverts yourself into a infant-like form in another dimension waiting to be reborn since I was worried about leaving this world behind with my powerful pure tailed beasts as they were the closest thing I had to children. All of my old memories as Himeka and almost all of my powers and chakra locked away until I grew enough to unlock them. Like Senjutsu, it requires natural energy at least a centuries worth of it before the rebirth can happen. I was in my frozen state for about a 1000 years and my rebirth was triggered by the Nine-Tails attack on Konoha due to the act of cleaving Kurama’s chakra in two. Because of that I was “born” on the same day was Naruto was, October 10, while my actual birthday is August 6

My metal powers are an added protection that the jutsu supplied in order to protect me until I’m old enough to actually defend myself. My high healing factor is an unintentional side effect of the jutsu. The only actual ability I took with me from Himeka to Daki was my Kunijundo eyes. Kunijundo eyes are like the other kekkei genkai eyes and whatnot but instead of being offensive it’s a mostly defensive set of abilities it grants, it can only damage other Ōtsutsuki

NARUTOP99 was a worldwide poll to determine the most popular character of the original Naruto manga. (My reaction after learning that Sakura has surpassed Naruto) Although this is not surprising, because in the manga, thanks to Masashi Kishimoto, the image and character of the heroine is better than in the anime, as I felt) The actress voicing Sakura is wonderful, but I like her voice in real life. Her voice is very beautiful, smart and serious and I dream that in the future she will voice Sakura like that.)

Ten-Tails Original Concept

I have a theory that Hamura was originally supposed to be the ten-tails.

Kishimoto made changes to the story as it went along, I think this was the original concept for the Ten-Tails and Hamura.

I think it would have been a callback to the tension between the main house and branch house of the Hyuga Clan. Which was epitomized in the relationship between Hiashi and Hizashi. And to the theme of brotherhood in Naruto.

Hamura and Hagoromo are twin brothers. I think the originally they were supposed to be have been the first born with the Byakugan. I think it would have been a result of selective breeding of ocular powers.

I think Kekkei Genkai was supposed to be the rudimentary way chakra was utilized.

The Sage of Six Paths is credited for discovering the inner workings of chakra.

The Byakugan has the ability to see the chakra pathway system and I think the brothers would have used that ability to discover chakra.

This is already the case since the Rinnegan was credited as birthing all jutsu.

I think Hamura and Hagoromo would have both tried to find a solution for world peace coming to different conclusions.

I think Hamura was originally meant to look to the gods. And so summoned one and fused with it.

Instead of a benevolent god I think Hamura would have summoned a devil. The concept of an evil god was brought up through Hidan and Jashin.

The effect of the fusion would have been the birth of the Rinne Sharingan. I think he would of use his abilities to try to forcibly bring peace to the world which have led to a conflict with his brother, leading to his transformation.

I think the ten-tails was originally based on the Hitotsume-nyūdō a giant one-eyed priest yokai. There is lore that it was really a kitsune or tanuki, which I think was combined into the ten-tails. Kitsune have 9 tails while tanuki one.

I think his metamorphosis would have been similar to Orochimaru's transformations.

Hagoromo would seal his brother within himself transforming his Byakugan into the Rinnegan. And leading him to pass on the Sharingan to the Uchiha.

When the ten-tails first appeared it was obvious there was a connection to Sharingan and Rinnegan.

We know the story somewhat kept intact the lore about the Uchiha originating from the Hyuyga Clan through the Ōtsutsuki but I think originally it was supposed to be a straight link.

I think the Hyuga Clan's policy of putting a curse seal on the branch family was in response to what happen with Hamura. And why it was placed in the same spot where the Rinne Sharingan appears.

I think there are traces of this original concept. The Mangekyo Sharingan was stated  as "heavenly eyes that see the truth of all of creation without obstruction" in the third databook. The Complete Susanoo took on the forms of Karasu and Yamabushi Tengu.

We saw these tengu as statues at the entrance of the Fire Temple. Although not delved into we know ninja monks existed in the story.

Also the Gedo Mazo looked like a  Sokushinbutsu a mummified monk. Which I think hinted at it being a monk like the Sage of Six Paths.

Thank you for the incredible amount of votes! It was fun seeing how results varied from region to region. I was shocked to see Minato at the top for all regions, and the fact that Sakura is so beloved by many people around the world made me proud as a writer. To tell you the truth, I was actually rooting for Kurama. I was planning on drawing only the top 20 characters, but I really wanted to add Kurama, who was close at 22nd... So I ended up including him and Guy, who was in 21st place! Sorry for completely ignoring the original plan to have the top 20 characters for the 20th anniversary because of my personal attachment. Right now I'm working on the short manga for Minato who placed 1st. While trying to make a story that would match the expectations of his fans, I ended up with more pages than I had originally anticipated. Please look forward to the secret story behind Minato's jutsu! I want to thank you all very much again for voting!

1ST DRAFT: Religion & The Sage of Six Paths (definetly not set in stone yet, just wanted to come out with what i've figured until now!)

*Observation: The Ancient Greeks and the Greek Religion was formed as a means of explaining the world; how it came to be and how it functioned. Natural phenomena happened and couldn't be explained by the technology and scientific advancement of the times. As such lightning and thunder were things that clearly existed and happened, but the Greeks couldn’t quite understand why, and so they attributed the phenomena to the existence of the Greek God Zeus. I think my ideal version of religion in Naruto would work in the same way. Therefore, we [we here equals to the people in-universe on Naruto] don’t know if the life of the Ōtsutsuki clan happened in the way that it was described, and we don’t know if the Sage of The Six Paths was an actual person. But we know that the Byakugan exists; we can’t be sure of how it came to be, so we attribute it as an ability that Hamura Ōtsutsuki possessed.

“Before there was time, before there was anything, there was nothing, and before there was nothing...there were monsters.”

During the Ancient Times, humans roamed the world as simple beings. Devoid of any special abilities. 

The God Tree was a special Tree, who growed and thrived off of blood which soaked the ground. As such, it was forbidden for anyone to come near the Tree, and anyone who attempted to do so would die; either from the tree itself, or from other people preventing them from getting near the Tree. 

Against all odds, one person was not only able to get near the Tree, but also consumed the Chakra Fruit, which grew on the Tree. How that was possible is unknown, but it happened, and the person, Kaguya Ōtsutsuki, survived the deed. 

After that event, the Tree proceeded to destroy itself. By crumbling on itself, severing its own limbs with its roots, branches and vines. The Tree tore itself apart and proceeded to go back into the soil and become, once again, one with nature. 

Kaguya Ōtsutsuki went on to give birth to twin brothers, who quickly proved themselves to not be ordinary humans. Both brothers showed that they inherited the Chakra present on the Chakra Fruit, and now, that same Chakra flowed through their bodies, acting as a complementing life-force, and running through the veins and arteries much like blood. 

With Chakra flowing through their bodies, the brothers soon found out that they developed unique abilities because of it. The Chakra in their bodies was able to manifest multiple Elemental Natures, as well as Yin & Yang Natures. 

Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki manifested the ability of the Sharingan, whilst Hamura Ōtsutsuki manifested the ability of the Byakugan. 

With the death of the God Tree the balance that existed in the world was shattered, and therefore was reinstated in the form of the Ten-Tails. The physical manifestation of all of the Chakra that resided in the God Tree, which took the form of a Monster with ten tails. The Jūbi was sealed inside Kaguya’s body the moment she ate the Chakra Fruit, and developed inside her body, unbeknownst to her, through years until it was ready to emerge. 

And emerge it did. 

Taking its full tailed form, the Jūbi wreaked havoc in the world and it seemed as though nothing could stop it. 

The twin brothers, Hagoromo & Hamura, came together and with their combined their powers; they were able to join forces and fused into a single Entity and manifest the Yin-Yang Chakra Nature, alongside all Five Elemental Chakra and open a third eye, through the combined power of the Byakugan and the Sharingan, which displayed the power of the Rinnegan. This Entity was dubbed as the ‘Sage of Six Paths’ and was able to suppress the Ten-Tails, which was subsequently divided into the Tailed Beasts, nine different Tailed Beasts, which yielded the equilibrated power of the God Tree’s Chakra and would maintain the world’s balance and peace. Subsequently, the Tailed-Beasts would appear through history during conturbed times, and would represent a good omen of change. 

Even with the Jūbi no longer residing in her body, Kaguya never recovered and her mind and body were corrupted with the power she yielded during that time. Therefore, the Sage of Six Paths had no choice but to seal her away, for all eternity, inside of the Moon. 

After that “The Sage of Six Paths” became a revered entity; and even as the brothers would split back into Hagoromo and Hamura, their teachings and beliefs would spread through the world, and their children and subsequent descendants would take over the world. 

All human-kind have Chakra running in their bodies, and therefore are the children of the Sage of Six Paths. 

Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki would go on to coin the term Ninshū to refer to the art of yielding Chakra, as a way of connecting people to each other and to heal ailments in an individual. Simultaneously, in the teachings of Ninshū, Hamura Ōtsutsuki would believe in yielding Chakra as a way to protect one’s-self and one’s loved ones through all means necessary. 

The Sage of Six Paths was believed to be the one to “Establish Peace and Order”, and therefore the followers of the Ninshū teachings, are those burdened with the task of enduring hardships for the sake of bringing about peace through unification.

The Ninshū would bring forth six rules of conduct expected from the Shinobi, known as  “The Six Paths to Ninshū”. By following these paths of conduct the Shinobi would be able to become one with the world, by achieving the perfect understanding of the balance between men & nature. This way, one is able to achieve true peace and order in the world. 

Each person must find a personal way of life, in the form of an innate nature, that leads them to their most enlightened existence;

One must be kind and compassionate towards every other being in the world, as respecting nature means respecting one’s-self;

Social harmony will be achieved when one is able to find happiness without preventing others from achieving their own happiness;

 Happiness is only achievable through utmost sincerity, not only towards one’s peers but also towards one’s self;

One should never take what is not given to them;

One should always offer aid to a peer, as helping someone else is akin to helping one’s-self.

Additionally, it would also be established “The Six Universal Truths of Ninshū”;

All forces in the universe interact with each other, to either generate or overcome each other;

All people are different from each other, and as such, what constitutes happiness is different to each person;

All actions done by a person are bound to be returned to them threefold;

Humans are not more special than any other being in nature, they, just like any other animal, are part of the natural cycle of life; 

The Chakra is, such as every force in the universe, capable of creating and of destroying; 

Nature always will find a way to reach balance again whenever humanity disrupts it. 

As with all things, through the years, the practice of Ninshū became more and more distorted from its original intentions; and although there are still classic practitioners who follow the original beliefs, a new line of thought was created. 

Jutsu would be the name given to the art of using Chakra in battles, and those who utilise Chakra would be the Shinobi & Kunoichi of the Hidden Villages. 

The Sage of Six Paths would be revered by those who yield Chakra, and be known as father of all Shinobi.

The surface of the land was dusty, almost shimmering as you slipped out of your house, a leather-bound bag tucked under your ribs. What you were doing wasn’t forbidden, but it was looked down upon and shamed so severly it might as well have been the death penalty. And in some cases it was. You didn’t care for the judgement, nor did you want it to be revealed for the fear of your life. 

The moon itself shimmered with beauty and yet there was something so deep and aching when you touched the surface. You knew the stories, the legends of the demon in the moon and the moon itself wilted to rock. The consequence of speaking up about it. You’d learned better, and even when the eyes of the village faded away, your parent’s glares burned into your back. Your big mouth had almost led to the disgrace of your already struggling branch of the clan. The pinkie missing from your left hand was an unpleasant reminder. 

But even then you loved the Moon and everything about it.

It was more than a raging monster. It was actually quite ethereal if you listened to its songs. You fed it occasional meals of chakra and let its wisps of a joyful embrace coat you. The moon demon was just as trapped as you were. You would never let it feel alone, the very nature of yourself forbade it.

In the outskirts of town, there was a grande palace, slanted into the wispy dirt. Nobody visited it except you, always left untouched and dust-ridden. The sand around it was brutal and sucked things in easily. The castle was too big to see sucked in even though slowly it broke. Cracks spiderwebbed up the marble sides, just barely reaching the towers that peaked into the sky, almost pointing towards the swirling stars.

With a single bound you floated over the sinkhole and landed on the tilting steps, already an expert. It only took one good pull to heave open the door and you hurried in.

The corridor was severely cracked down the middle, leaving half the room intact and the other half slanted. Silver sand seeped through the cracks and left the room in an eerie state, complete with the tall marble pillars and gentle light from the moon. You took a breath, letting the tension seep out of your bones and left your clan jacket on one of the pieces of furniture. This was a safe place. This was a somber yet joyful place, one of the only places where you were truly free. You were by no means a princess nor a queen but your white dress reflected the moon so right, so perfectly that sometimes you could believe the beauty that your mother praised you for.

You placed the satchel on the table and brought out a candle for the procession. It had taken a bit to find out what the Moon liked, but the songs never guided you astray.

The click of the lighter was like a switched flip for the Moon, energy brimming at the surface as you lit the single candle. It smelt of spring water and moondust, calming your head and soothing the Moon Goddess. The goddess’s pulse slowly thrummed, creating a melody. And you sang.

Your voice echoed through the chambers, soft and mature as you vocalized the Moon’s story. It was like you were possessed, head spinning until you felt light and barely registering the scooping up of the candle, the absence of your own footsteps, and the pale eyes that followed you.

When the Moon thrummed, your voice wobbled and when it screamed, your voice pitched as you let it sing its song through you. You could see the notes playing in front of your eyes as you sang for it.

The procession led down the hallways and through the parts of the abandoned castle that you memorized many times before until the thrumming faded and the piece finished up. A few notes from you, as an acknowledgement of the song you couldn’t even begin to understand.

You looked up at the massive double doors and placed your hands on them, ready to continue with the procession. Then, a pale hand wrapped around yours. It was so light you could barely believe it, but then you felt the almost familiar chakra signature. So similar to—

A devastating wail of pain ripped through the surface of the Moon as if it was struck and you let out a harsh cry, jerking yourself away from the hand. The Moon wailed and wailed and you stumbled back, terror sucking the warmth and peacefulness from you in an instant.

You were found. You were as good as dead. The punishment wouldn’t be a finger this time, it would be your head, it would be your head.

“Calm down!”

You blinked and turned to the presence.

It was a man. You’d never seen him before, tall with two horns protruding from his skull and long light blue hair. His eyes were pale and full of an emotion that you couldn’t make sense of. His pale eyes were flashing with confusion and anger, a small vein visible from where he stood.

“What were you singing?”

You took a breath to compose yourself, “...it doesn’t have a name yet.”

“What do you mean?”

“It’s not my piece to name.” You stood up straighter, brushing off your dress. A flicker of curiosity passed his face but then the mental walls were back up again. Intriguing.

“Again, what do you mean?”

“I wasn’t singing for my own pleasure, I was singing for the Moon Goddess. I felt her spirit and I let her use my vocals to express herself, as I do.”

“As you do?”

“Every night for months.” You stepped forward, looking him in the eye. He froze.

“It’s you.”

“That was already established, no?”

He ignored your comment in favour of staring you down, “You’ve been tampering with the Moon.”

“That is not remotely what I’ve done.”

“Then what are you doing?”

“I’m honouring the soul of the goddess inside the moon.”

“And why is that?”

“Because the dead deserve to be honoured. The Moon is alive, I’ve known this for so long. And my knowledge took a toll upon myself.” You held up the stump where your pinkie was, “If you all are so superior to the Moon Goddess why do you spit upon her name like she doesn’t hear you. Why do you hush those that hear her and speak for her? She may have once been kind, before her tale turned tragic but all I hear are endlessly demonized tales. I condemn her and her crimes but nobody deserves eternal bastardization like the colonies have done to her. She cries and she expresses joy just as a human. Her soul is trapped. If there is none to honour the human in her, I will do it myself.”

“...of course.” A soft, almost melancholy smile melted onto his features, “I can see it now.”

“What do you mean?” It was your turn to ask.

“The determination and raw strength. She, the Moon Goddess, would admire that.”

“And who are you to say this?”

“I am her son.” The Moon went quiet for a moment before a soft warble broke out, sad and angered and loving and everything in between. He looked at the ground, as if he was apprehensive, “...Even though she may not hold the same affections for me, I am her chakra, blood, and bone.”

“...and what is your name?”

“Hamura. Hamura Ōtsutsuki.”

The founder. You paused to stop yourself from letting out a small gasp. He simply smiled.

“And you are?”

“Y/N.”

He took your hand and brought it gently up to his lips.

“You have a wonderful voice dear Y/N. For a moment there, I believed you were the Moon Goddess herself.”

“You don’t call your own Mother by her title?”

“I don’t think she’d enjoy it if I did.”

“So you leave her to be slandered by your people?”

“It wasn’t me who started the rumors or the legends. They’re been there for centuries.”

You huffed and held tight to his wrist, “That is no excuse. Come, you’re going to finish the ritual with me.”

“I don’t want to pray to my own Mother.”

“It’s not a worshipping service Moonprince, it’s an altar of remembrance.”

“Oh.”

You felt a smile cross your own face as his hand tightened in yours, the soft thrum of his palm surprisingly pleasant against yours as you pushed open the doors, an altar waiting for you.

“It is… small.”

“It’s enough.”

You sat down and gestured for him to do the same. This room was empty, the altar placed in the middle of the space. Thin, translucent curtains let moonlight drape across the tiles as you kneeled on the mat. It was only meant for one person, so when Hamura sat he pressed against you.

The Moon Goddess thrummed lightly, cautiously and almost like a language that you couldn’t comprehend, only understand.

“Will you teach me?”

“Of course I will.”

I like the original concept of his looks in the Last Naruto movie, but I don't like his character at all. So I redesigned him to match the character that I imagine him to be and gave him more Hamura's and Hyūgas' features.

I want him to be older and more mature mentally, an antagonist devoid of pathos and pretentiousness. I would like him to be perceived as a real threat to the Earth. I also see him as a person who is very tired of everything.

Unfortunately, I don’t have enough skills to depict all features I imagine, but this is very close to what I would like him to look like.

― Hinata Hyūga’s entire jutsu arsenal

The information presented in this post has been checked and revised. My aim is not to hate or to discredit any of the characters mentioned. Please read about me for further information.

This post will contain evidence in picture format directly from the manga Naruto (1999 - 2014) created by Masashi Kishimoto and published by Shueisha in 1999. I will also use information from the official databooks of Naruto.

In this informative post will explain all the jutsu that Hinata Hyūga has used in canon, meaning this will only include techniques that the author of the manga and the novels, illustrated by Kishimoto, have given her.

This analysis will be crossposted in AO3.

In order to talk about any jutsu, like ninjutsu, taijutsu or genjutsu, the term of stamina must be explained.

Stamina is accomplished by mixing mental and physical energies together, and it is the energy that fuels any kind of jutsu, with chakra or without chakra. These mental energies are different from the Yin and Yang Release.

The amount of stamina is proportionate to the number of jutsu the user can perform. This means that the more stamina the ninja possesses, the greater the repertoire of jutsu attacks and the more quantity there will be to transform into chakra, and, therefore, into a jutsu.

On the other hand, in order to perform ninjutsu or genjutsu, chakra is kneaded and expelled through hand seals.

Although Hinata does not have a high statistic for hand seals and, therefore, she would not perform any jutsu as easily, she acquired a fair knowledge for a ninja from a shinobi background after the time skip. Her proficiency in hand seals went from 1 point in the first and second databook, to 3 in the third databook.

Hinata is known for her taijutsu skills, which stem from being a member of the Hyūga Clan. Hinata does not need to transform her stamina into chakra because she does not use ninjutsu. However, she is able to blend her natural energies to create stamina and perform taijutsu. She does not have great amounts of stamina, but she counts with delicate chakra control, able to perform one of her clan’s most difficult Hiden jutsu.

The third databook describes stamina as the foundation of chakra and the hand seals as the knowledge in that art, the medium in which a jutsu is performed and the proficiency in executing said techniques.

Although Hinata has always had low stamina, her proficiency in taijutsu has always been her highest value and on par with Sasuke Uchiha and Kiba Inuzuka.  Chakra reserves, or the stamina required to perform jutsus, are increased with time and training.

Hinata is only proficient in taijutsu and that is her field of expertise. She is originally a short-range fighter that counts with visual sensing skills. Her statistics indicate that she has a fair knowledge of ninjutsu, able to use one form of it. 

All of her Hyūga hijutsu are mostly of attack nature (A), but she can also use defense and supplementary techniques (D & S) and classified as Kekkei Genkai; she is a close-range fighter (C) but she can use one mid-range technique (M).

Hinata has a low stat in genjutsu and she has never been seen using it in battle, as well as ninjutsu, but she makes up for it by taking advantage of her eyesight to spot ninja using illusions.

This problem probably stems from the lack of Yin Release that would limit her to use certain techniques like genjutsu, or Yang Release hindering her from learning medical ninjutsu, among others.

KEKKEI GENKAI - DŌJUTSU: 

A blood limit is a special kind of technique passed down from parents to children within a clan. This special technique can only be genetically inherited and is different from Hiden techniques. Kekkei Genkai and Hijutsu are not the same, Hiden jutsu can be taught to anybody.

Hamura Ōtsutsuki passed down his blood limit, Byakugan, to the Hyūga Clan.

» BYAKUGAN (Kekkei Genkai):  The White Eye is an eye technique inherited from generation to generation within the same family by Hamura Ōtsutsuki. The Byakugan is one of the Three Great Dōjutsu along with the Rinnegan and the Sharingan, being the weakest of them. 

This eye technique is able to see several kilometers in the distance and the range is increased with time and training, also it also has a 360 degree of vision. Moreover, the Byakugan acts like a technique similar to X-rays, able to see the chakra points, bones or even internal organs. 

Hinata possesses the longest ranged Byakugan known in the clan. She is able to see 20 kilometers ahead of her and this is probably an ability inherited from her father as a member of the main branch. Hiashi was also able to see the destruction os a very far-off city during the Fourth Shinobi World War.

TAIJUTSU:

The art of ninjutsu is the molding of stamina for physical exertion. The proficiency in taijutsu depends on the training and strength of the ninja rather than in the chakra or chakra control. Taijutsu is mainly a game of attack and evasion.

Hinata’s style of taijutsu consists of the gentle fist technique, which is the power of inflicting internal damage affecting the chakra pathway system and the organs. 

Her area of expertise is striking the keirakukei, disabling the enemy physically. The Hyūga Clan’s signature taijutsu style is actually called Gentle Fist due to their characteristics. 

As an adult, even if she does not actively participate in missions or fights, Hinata is recognized as a master of the Gentle Fist.

» GENTLE FIST (Hijutsu):  The Hyūga signature taijutsu, regarded as the strongest form of hand-to-hand combat due to their ability to disarm an enemy or even kill them. This fighting style attacks the enemy’s chakra pathway system, closing their points and damaging their internal organs in the process. 

An enemy without the ability to regenerate internal organs or reactivate the flow of chakra will fall victim of the Gentle Fist.

The Gentle Fist is a fighting style, meaning that they are classified as hijutsu because their moves are passed down from generation to generation known as “Hyūga style”.

The majority of these moves or techniques must be used together with the Byakugan in order to see the keirakukei and the tenketsu and know which places to target. However, the hijutsu fighting style of the Gentle Fist can be used in battle for those who do not possess Byakugan as one more form of taijutsu, which is the case of Boruto Uzumaki. 

The Hyūga Clan use these special moves and they inflict this damage by inserting their own chakra into the enemy’s points using their fingers or the palm of their hands.

Hinata’s techniques are all derivations of the Gentle Fist: 

— Eight Trigrams Sixty Four Palms (Attack, ?-rank): This powerful taijutsu technique is passed down to the members of the Main Branch of the clan. It hits 64 of the chakra points, making the enemy unable to move.

Hinata achieved this technique at 16 years old.

— Eight Trigrams Vacuum Palm (Attack, ?-rank): Upon locating the vital points of the enemy, the user unleashes an extremely fast strike forceful enough to blow them away with a powerful shock wave. 

This technique is similar to Neji’s rotation, but focusing on one target instead.

• Derived jutsu — Eight Trigrams Vacuum Wall Palm: This jutsu is a derivation of the Eight Trigrams Vacuum Palm and it is used to push an enemy back with a powerful shock wave together with an ally. It can be used as a defensive technique. Hinata used it together with Neji during the Fourth World Shinobi War. 

This technique is a collaboration jutsu too.

— Palm Bottom (Attack, ?-rank): Despite not being described as a technique, this move is used by Hinata during the Chūnin Exams and is the basic Gentle Fist move. Similar to the Sixty Four Palms and Vacuum Palm, the user directs chakra into the enemy to inflict damage.

— Twin Lion Fists (Attack, Defense & Supplementary; ?-rank): Hinata’s signature jutsu, this high-level technique is passed down only to the Main Branch of the family. It is extremely difficult to learn because it requires delicate chakra control, a feat that requires a dōjutsu.

The user of this technique can use a superior form of the Gentle Fist that drains the keirakukei and amplifies the destructive power. It is also a technique that enhances the power of the Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms.

However, Hinata is the only user of this technique and she has never successfully landed a hit on a target, so the power of his technique is actually unknown. Without the help of the databook, the Twin Lion Fists would be a technique that is only visually pleasing but with a mysterious strength, so it is a strong technique due to its description, not of its accuracy.

• Derived jutsu — Twin Lion Fists Crumbling Attack: This technique is the same as the normal Twin Lion Fists. However, this time it is allegedly infused with Hamura’s chakra, given to her in order to destroy the Tenseigan, although unable. The lions change their color to purple, possibly due to the power given to destroy the vessel.

COLLABORATION JUTSU » Ninjutsu-Dōjutsu - Byakugan-aided Mind Body Switch (?-rank): Using her Byakugan, Hinata helps Ino locate Obito Uchiha in order to manipulate him and redirect the Bijū Bomb. 

» Taijutsu-ninjutsu - Spiraling Twin Lion Fists (?-rank): Because Hinata can touch the Tenseigan, she combines her best jutsu, the Twin Lion Fists, with Naruto’s destructive Rasengan through a chakra transfer technique. This way, their chakra are symbiotically merged, allowing Naruto to receive immunity to the Tenseigan and allowing Hinata to gather enough quantity of chakra from the Rasengan to make up for her low power.

This collaboration allows them to destroy the Tenseigan.

NINJUTSU:

» Chakra Transfer Technique (?-rank, ?): This jutsu allows one person to share their chakra with another for their use or simply mix them together. This is a simple technique and it requires transforming stamina into chakra so it becomes ninjutsu. 

Hinata does the same thing she did when she performed the Spiraling Twin Lion Fists. In order to save him from the draining effects of the Tenseigan, Hinata merges her chakra with Naruto so Toneri cannot extract more power.

Contrary to popular belief, Hinata does not replenish Naruto’s reserves because received chakra did not augment her natural pool of stamina. Sasuke and Naruto coming in contact with Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki and obtaining the power to seal Kaguya away did not augment their chakra reserves because they are naturally blessed with large pools. 

It is also impossible for somebody to have as much chakra as Naruto, who counts with Kurama, his own reserve and a little of the Bijūs’ chakra. Hinata could not destroy the Tenseigan alone because the lacked power and chakra. The received power did not boost her abilities as a ninja.

Likewise, Hinata is not a reincarnation of Hamura Ōtsutsuki and her immunity to the Tenseigan comes from being a member of the Hyūga Clan, his descendants. 

Hinata is not a very versatile ninja in terms of jutsu styles, being only proficient in taijutsu, but she can perform different styles of taijutsu, which add to her combat variety. Although she is taijutsu oriented only, she can merge her chakra with others, a common form of ninjutsu.

She never meant to surpass anybody but her own limits, but she became a ninja worthy of being a member of her clan and a very capable kunoichi.

Hinata is currently still of chūnin rank and she has no plans of ever being promoted. She is a retired kunoichi that does not go on missions anymore, she takes care of her family as a full-time housewife. Still, Hinata does train her children in the art of the Gentle Fist.

This list features 10 techniques. Of them, 7 are taijutsu, 1 is her dōjutsu, 1 is ninjutsu and 3 are collaboration jutsu. Her taijutsu stems from the Gentle Fist, making it 1 technique with 6 variants:

[ 365 Days of SasuHina || Day One Hundred Fifty-Three: A Challenge ] [ Uchiha Sasuke, Hyūga Hinata ] [ SasuHina ] [ Verse: A Light Amongst Shadows ] [ AO3 Link ]

As much as he might have denied it in his younger years...Sasuke really is a competitive guy. Granted, his ‘rivalry’ with Naruto back then wasn’t much his choice. All Sasuke wanted to do was keep his nose to the grindstone and get as strong as possible, as quickly as possible.

So, imagine his annoyance when he got teamed with a loudmouth showoff and a one-track-minded fangirl. They threatened to hold him back from his goal. The one thing that gave him purpose. He could care less about their shallow infatuations with him. He’d had everything stolen from him. Everything. Wasting a single moment in search of justice for the Uchiha clan massacre was a disrespect to his slaughtered family.

But...in the end, he was stuck with them. Through the genin-level missions, Kakashi’s late-starting training days, and getting dragged out for whatever shenanigans Naruto and Sakura had in mind for that day.

The more time went on...the more Sasuke started to slip. He’d indulge in Naruto’s banter and challenges. Sakura, on the other hand, offered very little. Sure, trying to converse with Naruto was almost constant squabbling and arguing...but Sakura could focus on little else beyond herself, and her crush on Sasuke. She’d even talk down about others to try to bolster his views of her in comparison.

Of course, that only ever did the opposite.

But as the months passed, Sasuke found himself actually measuring himself up to the dead last. In a way, it helped boost his morale to constantly out-perform his teammate.

...at least...until Naruto started catching up.

He couldn’t understand it…! Naruto had no talent! He wasn’t part of a superior clan! Of course, back then, he knew nothing of the Kyūbi junchūriki’s heritage: son of the Yondaime Hokage, and one of the last Uzumaki. All in all, Sasuke had no reason to think Naruto was anything special...except for that strange orange chakra he could see once his Sharingan awoke.

Though part of him was angry due to his inner competitive nature...in reality, it bothered him for a far more serious reason. If someone like Naruto - a half-wit, dead-last nobody - could come anywhere near his level...then that meant he still had far too far to go in regards to his own strength.

In regards to Itachi’s strength.

It was that anger that led to his abandonment of Konoha...a place he realized was coddling him. Inhibiting his growth. If he was ever going to kill Itachi...he needed better methods. Better teachers. No matter the personal cost, he would pay it. So long as Itachi fell dead before he himself succumbed to death...Uchiha Sasuke would be happy.

Of course...his seemingly simple plan went far, far awry as the years passed. New teams, new truths, new lies, and new paths.

And where did it all end up leading?

Right back to Konoha. A place he now had a very...complicated relationship with. On one hand, it was the stage for his clan’s genocide, orchestrated by the very people who led the village. On the other, it was a place Itachi gave his life for: that he still believed to be good at its core.

Naruto and Sakura had tried again and again to drag him back, and as Naruto had put it, “even if he had to break every bone in his body”.

Something a friend would say, wasn’t it? Completely rational, completely respectful of Sasuke’s free will of choice.

But...in the end, he did return. On his own terms, even if the prompt was rather...unexpected. The revival of Uchiha Itachi was a shock to literally everyone but the woman who brought him back. And that was the first stepping stone to Sasuke’s new life. Facing the council, ousting the old regime of Konoha to instead entrust it to his prior teacher, and later prior teammate. Reforming the police, and attempting to clear out Konoha’s shadows from the surface, while Itachi and his ANBU would do so beneath.

As expected, rebuilding relationships was...difficult. Neither side was willing to forgive so easily, to varying degrees.

...except for one.

A Hyūga ally, a fellow left-behind friend by the rest of team seven, someone who’d also lost and regained a brother, and knew the politics of a village and clan rather well.

Hinata.

The path to their acquaintanceship, friendship, and later relationship was rather long, helped along by friends, clans, and work. But what matters now is that Uchiha Sasuke ended up marrying Hyūga Hinata.

And he considers it to be the one good decision he’s made out of the many poor ones that led him to such a path of misery and anguish.

A path he’s left behind.

“Think I can do it?”

“...do what?”

Sasuke nods to the tree in their backyard. It’s Autumn now, leaves falling slowly in the still air. “I bet I can pin a falling leave to the trunk of that tree.”

Seated between her husband’s knees as they lounge, Hinata gives a soft snort. “Of course you can. That’s not even a challenge.”

“What about blindfolded?”

“...I’d rather you not hit something else by accident. What’s gotten into you, anyway?”

“I’m...restless.”

“...want to spar?”

Sasuke considers that. As much as he enjoys training with his wife - and she’s hardly a pushover - there’s still only one person he can truly use all of his strength and force against.

Much to his annoyance.

“...sure. Nothing too heavy.”

“Think I can’t handle it?”

Sasuke gives his wife a look as she stands. “...you know that’s not a fair question, Hinata. For a typical shinobi, you’re exceedingly talented. I’m just…”

“A god among men?” she teases, offering a hand to help him up. “I know, I know...it’s a good thing I’m not a p-proud person, or that would sting.”

“You’re a wonderful kunoichi. And even among the Hyūga you’re a step above the rest. I’ve been made a bit too powerful to be a fair scale for anyone but Naruto. Hagoromo’s interference is hardly typical.”

“Well, I am the Byakugan princess,” Hinata reminds him with a false haughty look. “I’m a descendent of Hamura, remember? You’re just a reincarnation of a sage’s son!”

In spite of himself, Sasuke gives a rather undignified snort. “Is that so?”

“It is!”

“Well I’m also a descendent of Indra’s, the father of the Uchiha clan. I think I can measure up to your lineage,” he retorts with a smirk.

“Is that a challenge, Uchiha?”

“Do you want it to be, Hyūga?”

The pair step up to each other, Hinata looking up defiantly as Sasuke stares down coolly. For added effect, they even let their kekkei genkai flare to life, white staring up into red and purple. They manage to hold their gazes for a long moment before breaking out into laughter.

“So ridiculous,” Hinata says between breaths, wiping at her eyes as they return to their typical state. “I can’t say things like that seriously...it sounds so p-pretentious!”

Still chuckling, Sasuke waves a hand before fitting his hitai-ate back over his Rinnegan. “You did pretty well, I think. Next time someone gives you trouble, just start spouting off about your Ōtsutsuki heritage. They’ll wet themselves and run in terror.”

“In all honesty, I hate being linked to that...woman. I can’t believe she almost destroyed our world…”

“Not with me around.”

“Mm, no,” Hinata agrees, giving him a small smile. “Not even rabbit goddesses stands a chance when pitted against you, hm?”

“Hardly a threat.”

“...so, still want that spar?” Hinata then asks, “Or did we ruin the moment with our theatrics?”

“Mm…” Humming thoughtfully, Sasuke lets a smirk overtake his face. “As tempting as that is, you were giving me other ideas, staring at me with your Byakugan like that.”

“W...what?”

A soft laugh escapes him as she stutters, going a light shade of pink. “I think I like it when you get so serious like that. You’ve never looked at me with your kekkei genkai like that before. And that look in your eyes…”

Blinking, Hinata slowly blooms red. “I...b-but…?”

“...of course, now that edge is completely gone,” he teases, gesturing to her now-flustered expression. “But I wouldn’t mind seeing you get that...domineering in other scenarios.”

For a long moment Hinata is silent, glancing aside as she mulls that over. Sure, she’s not a blushing maiden anymore - hasn’t been for a while now since marrying him. But that doesn’t mean her inner prude doesn’t still emerge at times.

...still…

Fiddling with his sleeves, Sasuke looks up as Hinata steps up again. Her Byakugan fill with chakra, staring up at him as a hand takes his shirt front, dragging him down to her level.

...oh. Whoa.

“Is that another challenge I hear…?” she asks, tone soft but laced with an edge. “Have I found a weakness in the mighty Uchiha Sasuke…?”

...okay, he’s all sorts of confused. He was mostly teasing her before, but uh...this is actually getting his heart to race a bit, seeing those eyes staring right through him and hearing her talk like that.

...oh.

“...I think you and I know you’ve been a weakness of mine for quite some time now.”

A wry smile curls her lips. “Then maybe I can handle it, hm…?”

“...let’s find out, shall we?”

     This...isn't QUITE what I envisioned? But to be fair, I am running on basically no sleep, so uh...I'm not at my best :'D Yayjawpain.      ANYWAY, this is a LITTLE borderline ooc for my interpretation of Hinata. While she DOES have a sense of humor, and CAN be a little risque...she's still rather conservative in a lot of ways. She can get down and dirty with her hubby, sure...but stuff like this is pushing it, lol      (Also for anyone wondering (since I HAVE been asked about it in the past), I highly doubt there will ever be nsfw content in this challenge. It's just a bit of a...personal line that's difficult for me to cross ^^; Hence cutting it off at the innuendo...sorry OTL)      ANYWAY, I'm...obviously very tired, so I need to head off for the night.
