Now onto my random AU lore and thoughts:

JEDI LORE TIME: So, as I’ve said in my last daemon AU post, the Jedi generally have bird daemons. This is by nurture, not nature. The way the Jedi teach young force-users to interact with the Force usually ends up directing their daemons to settle into a bird species of some kind. Which conveniently is around the time a Jedi Initiate is either chosen to be a Jedi Knight or be sent to the Jedi Corps. While it is not a rule that a Jedi Knight has to have a bird daemon, there are stigmas in the Jedi culture that lead to Jedi Knights and Masters not wanting to pick Padawans with not-bird daemons. This was one of the reasons the Council was hesitant to take in Anakin originally. He was already past the age of being nurtured to have his daemon settle as a bird, as he was raised outside the Temple.

(If you’re wondering why Obi-Wan doesn’t have a bird daemon, look at my last post. But to summarize his daemon settled while on Melida/Daan. So not ideal circumstances) (Also Qui-Gon Jinn cares not for cultural taboos, so he did not care much that Obi-Wan’s daemon ended up not being a bird lol)

The exceptions to this bird-daemon rule is generally Jedi in the Corps and Jedi Shadows (I will be making a Quinlan Vos post at some point that goes into that more).

DEPA BILLABA and her daemon, Taryz, who is a Hooked Billed Kite.

Okay for the life of me I cannot remember the reason I picked Depa’s daemon 😅, but it was probably just: ‘I like how Hooked Billed Kites look’. So a good reason obv.

I inserted some silly interactions between Obi-Wan and Depa, and Kee-Ayt and Taryz. I headcanon that since they are the two youngest council members, they will go out of their way to act like children in front of the older council members. Just to make the others role their eyes and say ‘kids 🙄’. Despite the fact that both of them are like in their mid 30s-40s. But besides them acting like two siblings alone in the back seat of a car, they are close with each other. Taryz is the daemon most comfortable being casually around Kee-Ayt, out of the other daemons in the Council. (I imagine that since most Jedi daemons are birds, sometimes other Jedi don’t know how to interact with Kee-Ayt)

MACE WINDU and his daemon, Maisha, who is a Bald Eagle. 

In the Temple there runs a rumor amongst the Padawans about which came first: Mace being bald? Or Mace’s daemon settling as a Bald Eagle? A real ‘chicken or the egg’ question lol.

But more seriously, I really did just end up picking a Bald Eagle daemon because I wanted to make bald jokes hahaha. That and Bald Eagles just naturally look pissed all the time, which matches well with Mace’s ‘resting bitch face’.

YODA and his daemon, Kieachkta, who is an Ostrich.

My whole concept for Yoda was just: ‘if Yoda is a small species, then he should get a big ass daemon to balance it out’. And yes, Yoda rides around on Kieachkta because of course he does. And when he can’t hit your ankles with his stick, he’ll get Kieachkta to peck the back of your head (which hurts ow).

(If you’re wondering, all of Yoda’s species have bigger daemons. Like Yaddle has an Emu daemon).

SHAAK TI and her daemon, Thevren, who is a Hyacinth Macaw.

My only thoughts for Shaak’s daemon was I wanted it to be big and colorful. 1. Because she’s just this tall figure with long montrals. She just needed a big bird species to go with her impressive figure. 2. She just has always had a fun color scheme, so I thought a colorful bird of some kind would be fun. SO A HYACINTH MACAW. They’re huge and a beautiful blue color (that matches her montral stripes). I also just wanted her to have a fun, friendly looking daemon. Since she’s on Kamino most of The Clone Wars, and interacting with Tubies and Cadets. I think her having a big, loving, approachable looking daemon was just right. (Which is why in this AU, she was chosen to be the one working with the younger clones). Hence why I have so many doodles of her daemon with young clones’ daemons. 

Plus I added an extra doodle of Commander Colts’ daemon, Pistol, who is a breed of Livestock Guardian Dog. Since Colt is also on Kamino, he often is ‘herding’, ‘protecting’ and ‘training’ the young clones. So a herding/guardian  dog daemon felt right for him. (Pistol is the bad cop to Thevren’s good cop lol)

PLO KOON and his daemon, Averyl, who is an Osprey.

Tbh I didn’t have any idea what bird I wanted Plo to have. So I ended up googling ‘bird species that are good parents’ lol. And Osprey were on that list! Idk how true that is, but IN STARWARS IT IS NOW TRUE.

 Plo is just The Jedi Dad Of All Time (*cough cough* Ahsoka *cough cough* Wolffe *cough cough* Wolf Pack), so he got a Parent Of All Time bird lol. 

And yes Averyl spends all her free time trying to preen EVERY member of The Wolf Pack. Is that physically possible? I don’t know, but don’t even try to tell Averyl she can’t do it. All her furry dog children WILL feel her affection.

KIT FISTO and his daemon, Krios, who is a Blue Footed Booby.

All I can say is I knew I wanted Kit to have a sea bird, because he’s The Swimming Jedi^TM. And I love Blue Footed Boobies. 

Also Kit is a silly guy who deserves a silly bird, with silly blue feet and a silly name.

KI-ADI MUNDI and his daemon, Czirda, who is a Great Blue Heron.

Ki-Adi is a long, lanky looking dude so he gets a long, lanky bird.

(Also I see a lot of Blue Herons around where I live, so they’re a favorite of mine).

AU: TISM!!

Concept: All Circus members have the 'tism.

Short Story:

Caine as the ringmaster, decides that everybody will ride a train in this adventure, just because! NO QUESTIONS ASKED, (GET ON THE DARN TRAIN ALREADY, MY SUPERSTARS!)

Ragatha, wearing her special noise canceling headphones, is escorted onto the train by Pomni. Ragatha gets overexcited about trains, giggling to herself rather frantically. Pomni brings her horses so they can play Horses together in their shared train car. Pomni was quiet, almost mute, (as some autistic children have trouble voicing their own feelings, often very sensitive or anxious, crying without saying a word, since they're often nonverbal, while others are very verbal), yet Pomni always tried to show kindness towards her friends in her own often misunderstood anxious way. That especially goes for Ragatha as she was like her best friend. As she carried Raggy's large bags of toys, they thought of playing for hours, as Pommi understood how Ragatha felt, both sharing a bond of horses and dollies that only they shared.

Gangle and Zooble occupied the next train car bedroom. Gangle is reading her favorite manga, Azumanga Dioh, and Repeating to herself her favorite lines. Zooble goofily repeats them with Gangle, laughing with Gangle at the perviness of Kimura Sensei:

"BANZAAAAAIIIII" yelled Gangle Absentmindedly.

"BANZAAAAAAIII!" Chanted Zooble in return.

"BANZAAAAAAAAAIIII!" They yelp together as they chuckle and laugh at how silly Kimura Sensei is.

Kinger and Jax are up in the front with something to do, as Caine made Jax an engineer, and Kinger the Conductor, as his blank stare, as goofy as always our was, he wore a Conductor outfit and hat.

"I feel really useful! ALL ABOARD!" Said Kinger in the silliest, cutest way, reminded of his childhood love for Thomas the Train.

Jax shovels coal into the fireplace, finding the repetitive tasks of working in the engine room to be satisfying. It was just the kind of action he needed. It was sure more interesting to take in the view and handle the train's mechanisms than it was to hang out with the girls. "Lame," thought Jax out loud as he continued to quietly talk to himself, like the autistic boy he is, oogling over how the train is moving orderly.

Caine pulls the whistle for fun!

"WOOOOWOOOO!!" Chanted Caine, he was having the time of his life, and couldn't be better. Autistic as he is! Bubble spun around in the air with Caine, giggling endlessly either him above the train as it shot down the tracks with great speed.

In the dining car train, Kaufmo sits at a table eating his favorite snack while watching random comedians on YouTube, learning about better ways to make jokes, obsessing over it as all autistic people do, having an expert level of information on the topic. Then there was Queenie, who took out her butterfly collection where she had a few pictures of beautiful butterflies, I love watching them, she thought to herself as she looked at all of her favorite pictures from her last nature trip, obsessing over entomology, seeing all of the cool pictures of different beetles she found. She loved beetles so much.

Dobby Dog sells stuff at the snack bar, hanging out and enjoying the view. Couldn't be happier, he thought as he quietly sat behind the counter reading a book on hot dogs, his favorite thing in the whole wide world.

They all later hang out in the Observation deck watching the stars later as the train roared on through the countryside.

FEEL FREE TO STEAL THIS I'M NOT PLANNING ANYTHING WITH IT :D (and please keep in mind that i haven't seen everyones pov so some stuff is not cannon accurate lol) this is set in empire season 2 (around the time the rift open so we can have ranchers), with the empires 1 characters being a sort of greek pantheon(?) that pix is studying. Anyway- the codfather is supposed to be a god of the forsaken, forgotten ,and the damned who is either reincarnated as jim or is giving his power to jim cause he's deemed worthy of it. never quite worked out that part. so jim starts getting codfather features and is like 'o shit fish powers'. tumble town also starts turning into an oasis. he goes to the great witch shelby cause he thinks someone cursed him but she's like 'hm, no you somehow got ancient power somehow? let's go to pix and see if he knows anything about it.' then they go to pix who's all 'HOLY MOLY YOU GOT CODFATHER POWERS THAT EXPLAINS THE FLOODING-' turns out that other kingdoms (particularly anyone who makes fun of jim *cough cough* joel) are flooding really badly and nobody knew why. pix and shelby start working with jim to control his new abilities. they all agree to keep it on the down low but jim tells tango cause ranchers :] the whole thing comes to a head when joel finds out it's jim who's been (unintentionally) destroying his kingdom with floods and storms. he yells at jim about it and in turn jim goes absolutely ape shit- turns into a kaiju or smth and erases the very memory of joel from existence (or something like that) eventually they're able to calm him down steven universe future style. jim puts the memory of joel gets put back into existence and the two learn the importance of communication. yippee! happy ending for all!!

long post ahead, sorry i yap a lot lol

bigger was really fun!! i remembered as i was going in that brennan and izzy invited siobhan, zac and ally with them, and i was so fucking hyped!!!! they also brought on lou gonzalez and ryan haney, and while i wasn’t familiar with them prior to tonight they rocked it and i was glad to have been introduced to them and their humor.

it was a sold out show and the energy was so positive. it felt rlly great seeing people who trust and admire one another just be silly. idc if this makes me lame but that’s what i love about improv, it’s soooooo vulnerable

ofc it was funny, like it’s dropout people ofc i was cackling the whole time!!! my favorite part was actually from the stand-up comedian that they invited, jonathan penner. instead of taking suggestions from the audience all night, they had the comedian perform monologues based off one suggestion at the start and then those monologues would inspire the scenes, then the scenes would inspire the next monologue and so on and so forth…

so jonathan’s talking about how he got ghosted by his middle school friend group and he decided to message them via AIM, and if you’re chronically online (which i know u are, you’re on tumblr) you’ll know where this is going.

when he said “good morning, this is jonathan’s mom” i legit LOST IT OMGGGGG 😭😭 so fucking funny

overall it’s crazy to think just how instrumental these people have been in my life and how their writing and comedy informed my personality. i was watching collegehumor sketches with brennan, siobhan, zac, and ally like deadass since elementary and middle school. i think growing up with those sketches helped me become the smart-spoken yet crass and chaotic person i’ve always been. and ik that’s weird bc i was definitely too young to be watching ch but compared to the other shit i was exposed to as a kid it was practically harmless. so seeing these people who like shaped who i am on stage doing what they do best was such an awesome experience :D

and i have to give kudos to everyone for being able to uplift and entertain a theater full of people after such awful events like the la fires and the inauguration. there were moments in the show that referenced how fucking gross the world is rn (“it’s just weird that you bought a tesla now”) but the vibe was still fun and joyful.

i am so fucking grateful for these wacky comedians and I would love to see some dropout folks live again if i ever have the chance!!! ⸜(｡˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝♡

Yeah!

so. In the beginning of my comic (I'm assuming you havent read it, if you have I'm sorry) the main character is getting established as sort of a "master bullshitter" and very lucky. He's not stupid, the reason he's alive is because he reads situations quickly and lies very well... and at this point my editor had been repeatedly treating him with this sort of bumbling idiot trope, so I was already a bit frustrated.

He's caught as a stowaway on a pirate ship, and is bullshitting a treasure hunt so the pirates keep him alive long enough that he could escape. So, he makes a fake treasure map in Spanish, hoping that the pirates won't know any... because if they can just kill him and take the map, they will. And one of them knows Spanish!

So, the joke I put in to resolve the situation (which I kept) was "but can you READ Spanish?" where he's banking on the pirate's illiteracy, and he lucks out because she can't read.

but my editor wanted him to say "but do you know... ancient spanish?" which makes no sense and isnt funny LMAO to me.

There were a lot of instances like this, but this is the one I remember the most because my editor like. argued with me on putting ancient spanish in there... It was a back and forth for a good bit.

hhhh talking about my writing was fun but 30 tags is not enough.. yes i have 3 major influences but i have minor ones too.. it is a lovechild of my favorite things.. writing is so fun and i have no self control or a concept of pacing myself i will sit there for 16 hours and get hit with every status effect but by god does it all just flow out of me. I've always been a music person yes but i also used to write a lot into early adulthood until The Incident™

but i am ready 2 jump back into it. i think comics are a great middle ground between the two mediums so i don't get As into writing bc i kind of started going crazy last time 🫡 i can take a more structured approach to it that forces me to pace myself and think about it differently. i love art.... i love making things i love knowing how to do things i love knowing how to play things i love having so many creative outlets, even if i don't do a lot of them regularly lol. it is enriching 😳 and nice to know that it's always there to come back to when u want.

Have not stopped thinking about the parallels between Flower and the tarot card The Fool since I started watching Ghosts so I finally drew it (based on the classic Pamela Colman Smith deck):

The card so often gets interpreted to mean naive or foolish, which is also true of Flower’s character…I think even the other ghosts tend to write her off as just this naive spacey hippie who can’t hold on to a thought. At its core though, the card is about a sense of wonder and joyful openness to the world, a willingness to experience things and open oneself up to the possible, something I think is wonderfully embodied by Flower, especially as we’ve gotten to see more of her backstory and character arc this season.
