I was literally just hate reading the comments someone was really like I love this will they/wont they that you guys are doing on the show right now. and I love that you are showing buck and tommy longing for each other when theyre apart. I cant believe we’re all watching the same show (said to the tune of lebron james I cant believe this is my life)
I JUSTTTTTT SCREENSHOTTED THAT ONE HELP!!!!!! like they are doing incredible things on that post. wow.
#oh my christ i saw this one too#‘the will they/wont they’ BABY THEY BROKE UP. tommy said he knows they won’t work. buck literally grimaced when asked if he loved tommy#tim has said he’s in buck’s past and lou overtly said bye bye to the show in interviews and on social media#it’s not a will they/wont they because they won’t. they didn’t. they haven’t#what more do you WANTTTTTTT

i’m rewatching season two with a friend and it made me realize what i’ve been yearning for in 911 for like… the last three seasons. i just want the episodes to effect each other. like in season two there’s a pretty seamless causation between the plot of each episode to the next one, even the silly filler episode of oceans 9-1-1 creates the direct cause of the most tragic episode of the season with bobby begins again. and then bobby begins again gives us the backstory to the two part finale storyline and suddenly we’ve got four weeks of television that clearly and seamlessly influenced each other. i think the show relies too much on its core audience now days and doesn’t feel like they need to create a situation which pulls people back for the next week, they believe that the people are coming back anyway so why create suspense at the end of the episodes. and it bothers me because i don’t like every. single. episode being so self contained. i want more flow ykwim
#i’m starting to think (well. have for a while) that the show is suffering from network tv troubles. more than it ever has#i know they’ll have an overarching season plot. but i personally feel that having different writers every single episode#just really throws off the continuity#like eddie at the end of 8x06 and eddie in 8x07? two different people in two different storylines. IN MY OPINION#there was no continuity there. not even a throwaway mention of the moustache or him being happier or anything. it’s like 8x06 never happened#you can almost watch every episode so far in season 8 as standalone episode. nothing at all links. you don’t really need to know anything#i know it’d be too much work obvs for one/two writers do to every episode but. i just think the show/plots/character are suffering a little#ramble

one thing i think is missing from the show atm is how well they used to do the calls that would resonate with the main characters and influence their decision making in that episode. and it's not like they've forgotten how to do it because they did it with chimney and the brothers in the well call (if a little heavy-handed). it's more like. idk. because the synopsis for confessions said something about the divorce call opening up old wounds and we, rightfully so, thought it was going to spur eddie into dissecting the reality of his relationship with shannon and finally coming to terms with it and then it was just a silly ha-ha he sneezed his guts out LOL call where the old wounds were his and his wife's which. is just such wasted potential. and it's just. they're missing so many opportunities where they could have used calls to further the story or they chose the wrong story to further (looking at you hotshots plot) and idk it's so frustrating and i'm hoping the midseason finale car crash disaster will maybe lean into that with all the different victims. but yeah. it's just such a missed opportunity.
#the calls rarely have emotional impact for the mains or any impact on the storylines anymore#prime example is all the callbacks this season. what’s the point of including a kid down a well and a man dangling from the ladder#if it’s not for a reason?? it just feels weird otherwise#i find the calls also often don’t fit well in the episodes. they’re just shoehorned in. again without any impact on the characters or plot#i miss the days of interlinked emergencies and character plots. i long for the days of entire episodes dedicated to one call#there’s a reason arcs like the earthquake and the tsunami etc are so popular

my toxic trait is thinking I can learn something I’ve never done before like play guitar or crochet in 2 hours or less and if I can’t it’s simply because I’m just not good at it
#me with crochet. i learnt to knit when i was like 12 so i have no memory of learning. i can just… DO it#so why can’t i just DO crochet????!!! ahhh
