Chapter 3: Stuck With You

The trio hangs out for the first time outside the apartment.

A/N: third chapter!!! this one is really short, sorryyyy...but I'll post another fic as well as a new chapter this week to compensate, I pinky promise!! this explores the trio's dynamic again but do not worry, things are coming 🫡 alright I'll leave you to it!!

→ this fic is inspired by the TV Show New Girl, Wade and Logan aren't Deadpool and Wolverine (no powers/mutant gene etc) but I did take most of their character traits and storyline!!

The sun hung low over the city, casting golden light over the streets. Y/N had spent the better part of the afternoon wandering around her new neighborhood. It had been a week now, and between settling down and work she hadn’t had the time to walk around the streets. Wade had recommended a few places that he thought she would like. She strolled through narrow alleys and wide streets, passing cafes, small bookshops, and one bustling market. There was also this cute park a few blocks down where she stayed for lunch. It was all new, yet there was something comforting about this quiet exploration.

She hadn't quite figured out how to navigate the subtle rhythm of her new life— but she would managed. Everything’s going to be okay, she reminded herself.

When the evening chill began to creep in, she made her way back to the apartment. She was looking forward to spending time with Logan and Wade; the three of them had started to form an unexpected bond. As she climbed the steps to the apartment, she wondered if they were home yet. She could already imagine Wade cracking jokes, Logan rolling his eyes, and her somewhere in between, soaking up the dynamic. She already loved them so much.

The second she unlocked the door and stepped inside, Wade's voice boomed from the kitchen.

" And she returns!" He leaned against the counter, grinning. « So? How was your little solo adventure?".

Y/N smiled, closing the door behind her. "Amazing. I visited all the places you recommended and I’m definitely going back as soon as possible". Wade pumped his fists in victory with a little "Yes!", which made Y/n smile even more.

Logan appeared in the living room, a faint smirk playing on his lips. "You got lost?"

"Only once or twice," she admitted, tossing her bag onto the couch. "But it's nice around here. I loved the park— I might check it out more later this week."

Wade clapped his hands together. "Perfect. Now that Dora the Explorer is back, we can finally head out to the bar. My set starts in an hour." His eyes sparkled mischievously. "And you're both coming, right? Because what's a gig without my loyal fan base?"

Y/N grinned. « I can’t wait! »

Logan just shrugged but nodded, clearly used to Wade’s antics. "Yeah, alright. Let’s go."

The bar had a laid-back atmosphere. Dim lights flickered over dark wooden tables, the low hum of conversation mixing with the occasional clink of glasses. They found a booth near the stage, a perfect spot to watch Wade’s performance later.

Y/N slid into the booth, Logan following after her while Wade grabbed drinks from the bar. She glanced around, taking in the crowd. People were laughing, chatting, and enjoying the night.

"This place is cool," she commented.

Logan nodded, leaning back in his seat. "Wade performs here a lot. Thinks he’s the star attraction."

She laughed. "Well, I guess we’ll find out tonight."

A moment later, Wade returned with drinks, setting them down on the table. He plopped down on the seat across from them, a wide grin on his face. "Alright, Y/N, prepare yourself for the best comedy set you’ve ever seen— or, well, at least the best one you’ll see tonight."

Y/N grinned. "No pressure."

They sipped their drinks, the conversation starting off light. Wade was in his element, cracking jokes about the people around them, the bartender, the state of the world. It was easy to laugh with him, the energy infectious, and even Logan cracked a few smiles in between his usual deadpan responses.

As the night wore on, Wade excused himself to get ready for his set, leaving Y/N and Logan alone at the booth.

"You think he’s nervous?" Y/N asked, watching Wade walk toward the stage.

Logan shrugged. "If he is, he hides it well."

They shifted their gazes to the stage as the lights dimmed, and Wade took the microphone.

"Ladies and gentlemen!" Wade’s voice boomed through the speakers. "Give it up for me!" He winked at the crowd, earning a round of laughter.

"But seriously, thanks for coming out tonight. I hope you’re all ready to laugh, because I’m in desperate need of some validation!"

Y/N and Logan laughed along with the rest of the audience, Wade launched into his set, his energy filling the room. He was good—better than Y/N had expected. His jokes were sharp, his timing perfect, and he knew how to work the crowd. Y/N found herself laughing harder than she had in a while, and even Logan seemed to be enjoying himself.

After Wade’s set, the three of them were back at the booth, drinks in hand, a warm buzz from the alcohol and the laughter still lingering in the air.

Wade took a long drink from his glass and leaned back in his seat, satisfied. "Not bad, huh? I’d say I killed it."

Y/N grinned. "I have to admit, you were pretty great."

"Pretty great?" Wade put a hand on his chest, feigning offense. "Come on, I was spectacular."

"Sure, bub" Logan deadpanned, taking a sip of his beer. "Spectacular."

Wade waved a hand. "I’ll take it."

"It was fantastic, Wade, really." Y/n declared and Wade grinned, before thanking her.

The conversation drifted into the easy banter that had become familiar between them. They teased each other, joked about the people in the bar, and laughed at some of Wade’s stories from previous gigs. It felt good— natural.

At some point, after a pause in the conversation, Y/N found herself staring down at her drink, feeling the weight of the day. She hadn’t meant to go there, but something about the night— the warmth, the comfort of being with them— made her want to share more.

"You know, I’m really glad I found you guys." she said quietly, her fingers tracing the rim of her glass. "I never thought I would ever get along so well with people. I mean, that fast. You really welcomed me into your family and I’m grateful. So, thank you for that."

Logan and Wade both smiled at her, their expressions softening.

"God, what did I say about making people want to cry?" Wade said, wiping a fake tear from his eyes. 

Y/n chuckled and joined his act, "I’m sorry, I need to break some rules too!"

"Too?! What are you insinuating ? You’re a teacher, you should be ashamed of yourself."

They all laughed before the tone became serious again, "I don’t want to talk in Logan’s name, but, I'm going to anyway— it’s a real pleasure to have you. Like, you’re a perfect roommate. And you survived a whole week with us? I know people who would die just thinking about it— "

"Okay, that’s enough," Logan intervened, "but he’s right. We’re glad to have you too. And if you ever feel like you’re tired of us, please, don’t keep it to yourself."

Y/n smiled softly, "Thank you."

They talked again for a while, about their day, their week, anything that would come to mind. Somehow, the conversation wouldn’t stop.

Y/N took a slow sip from her drink, her smile lingering but her eyes distant, as if a thought had crossed her mind during the conversation. Logan noticed first, tilting his head slightly.

"Something on your mind?" he asked gently.

Y/N glanced up, offering a small, almost sheepish smile. "It’s just... talking about being part of your ‘family’— it got me thinking about mine."

Wade, who had been busy throwing peanuts in his mouth while telling yet another story, paused and looked over at her, eyebrow raised. "Oh, are we diving into family history now? Because I’ve got stories that’ll make your childhood look like Disneyland."

Y/N chuckled but shook her head softly. "No, it’s just... my family’s complicated." She took another sip, as if to steady herself. "I had a great childhood, really it was perfect. I mean, I know nothing’s perfect and 'normal' doesn’t exist, but it was great. Until it wasn't, of course."

Logan leaned in slightly, his expression soft but attentive. "What happened?"

Y/N’s fingers absently traced the rim of her glass again. "My parents divorced when I was 12, I think? It was a mess. They were fighting over who would keep the children. My brother was already in college and his dream was to leave the country, so, it was only me and my parents. In the end, I would stay at my mom’s during the week and my dad’s on the weekend. You know the drill. Anyway…"

Y/N sighed softly. "Even after it was done, they would still fight. And I realized they weren’t even fighting to keep me anymore. When I was at my mom’s she would only talk bad things about my dad, and vice versa on the weekends, and I felt so lonely. So, it’s kind of like my deepest fear now, to be alone. I mean, I can be alone of course, but to feel like everybody abandoned you and you’re just by yourself? That feeling, well, you made me forget it."

There was a silence for a moment, a contemplative pause. Then Wade spoke, his tone unusually serious. "Yeah. I get that." He glanced at Y/N, then at Logan. "My childhood was... rough. I’m not going into details but, yeah, I was alone for other reasons. And I still had to go to school and because of what was happening at home I guess I developed my own medicine for that. Humor became my way of dealing with it. I learned that if I could make people laugh, I could hide what was really going on."

Y/N felt a pang of empathy for him. She hadn’t expected Wade to open up like that, but it made sense. The humor, the constant jokes—it was his armor, just like she had her own ways of coping.

Logan shifted in his seat, his gaze focused somewhere beyond the table. "I’ve got a brother," he said, his voice low. "Victor. We don’t really talk anymore. Haven’t in a long time."

Y/N and Wade waited, sensing there was more.

"Things went south with him a while back. We were close when we were kids because…some stuff happened, but... yeah." He trailed off, the unsaid heavy in the air.

Wade took a sip of his drink, his usual bravado softened by the seriousness of the moment. "Family, huh? It’s a mess. But," he added, flashing a grin, « You two? You’re both stuck with me now."

Y/N laughed, and even Logan’s lips quirked into a small smile. The heaviness of the conversation lifted slightly, but the bond between them felt a little stronger after that. They didn’t need to dive deeper right now— they all knew the weight of their stories, and that was enough for the moment.

The night carried on, the trio falling back into their rhythm of jokes and teasing, but something had shifted. The laughter was still there, the lighthearted banter, but now it was layered with a deeper understanding.

HAIII!! I was super fixated on LOTS during my exams and it almost cost me. But it helped relieve stress at least :D ANYWAY. I got stuff I wanna say, and it’s nice to have a main creator’s opinion. But pls correct or change my headcannons or anything, I do like accuracy. :p Apologies if this is long (I literally hv no other ppl to talk ab LOTS stuff like this with)

I see Michael and CB always hv sharp teeth when rlly upset, and I interpret CB’s lil bump in his teeth as a fang. Is that a good interpretation to have? I like the idea of those two being an intimidating sharp teeth duo

Semi-related to above, I like to think operators and their patients are very super similar. Like they’re sort of fated to be that patients operator for a reason yk? Like Michael and CB mirror each other a lot in their own way, yet are so opposite. And it seemed that PB was clean and stuff, but his operator wasn’t (rlly cool mirroring). Crown and Sean just compliment each other and get along great. I’m also mostly fixated on Michael’s and CB’s dynamic, Michael and CB being a complete mental mess in their own rights, and little things like Michael likes rabbits and CB bunny ears jokes :> I also like the idea CB holds a form of resentment cuz his friends get chiller operators and he was instead locked up for months.

Also Michael seems like the type to get over-stimulated and lash out, or collapse onto herself. Would she pace around? (If so, I like to think she holds her pinwheel top still cuz it’ll spin from the air yk and it would be more over-stimulating) Does she pen click when frustrated? Does she chew? Or does she mess with her pinwheel pieces>

I also like the idea that CB throws tantrums and is prone to unintentionally lashing out, he’s over-energetic and he can’t help it. Like he lashes out at crown and his operator. Would his lashing out come from stress, fear or anxiety?

I think that’s mostly it. Uhhhh my only complaint is you should’ve made PB cry in episode 1c, I wanna see TEARS lol

I LOVE ALL UR THOUGHTS!!! ill try to answer these without giving too much away

the fangs/bumps in a characters teeth is less of an actual trait and more of a little thing i draw whenever i feel like itd be funny to show on screen, but more detailed interpretations of that are fine by me!

the relationship between operator and patient is really hard to explain, especially in a general sense. i wouldnt call it fate COMPLETELY but the patient that an operator is assigned isnt COMPLETELY random either if that makes any sense. im happy u noticed the similarities between cb and michael, and we'll get to see a lot more of their relationship as the episodes go on. both of them are very prone to lashing out if in the right context but for their own reasons. the lashouts originate from a lot of mixed emotions, but i think part of it comes from both of them thinking "Why am i stuck with this asshole?"

also i agree that i shouldve made pb cry in 1c. when faeb did those lines i was taken aback cause i didnt expect him to sound like hes on the verge of tears!!!! but i guess it makes sense

İts time for my monthly brainrots with my little to no English.

They are going to give you some cool names based on your personality traits and you cant stop them. İt can be as stupid or as cool as you think they would.

For stupid ones, we have:

-you were having a stroll with Thoma, the boy who is so popular that at one point he had more fans than you (imposter au lol). When you mentioned him that you love animals he HAD to make you meet all of his stray friends. Those little guys always need some attention afterall and maybe getting the divine creators blessings will help them be more lucky in the harsh wild.

(no he is not talking about your acolytes what do you mean?)

"this one reminds me of my favorite villager from animal crossing" you mumbled, not realising he can hear you.

"Animal... What?"he said, confused.

"ah its one of the ga... worlds... İ created."

Thoma looked even more confused. Villagers? Animals??? Animal villagers???? Crossing what???

He realised how you got a bit anxious from the question so he did not pushed you to answer. Maybe it was a touchy subject for you, so you did not want to talk about your own worlds that you created.

But he did talk to others about it, people were exited to know about other worlds, let alone the worlds YOU created! Alot of people tried to understand what that world was about and maybe add the things you like about it in their own world so you will be happier in this world :D

And that is the story on how "animals' lover" became one of your titles. (Zhongli's idea, he tought it should be something that Suits your all loving heart)

-it was a nice day in your abode. Birds were chirping happily to prove your point, the gentle breeze was moving the leaves of the trees as if its dancing with them. Other than that İt was quiet... Too quiet... The realisation of how unusual for your not-so-secret-anymore hiding spot to not be filled with your acolytes and alot of noise while you would be having a nice relaxed tea is sending chills down your spine.

Oh no.. things are usually worse when theyre silent for a long time... You decide to check up on them.

Upon going back inside, it wasnt much hard to guess why they were busy not bothering you, they were on eachothers throats.

As they usually do on their free time.

The first thing you see is Nahida, trying to fix a vase that has been broken, with vines she created from her hand while Trying to desperatly make the other people in the room calm down.

You also see Zhongli and Al haitham, theyre chatting about something and you can see that the atmosphere is tense. You can feel that the only thing from keeping them from eachothers neck is the starter of the fight will look bad infront of you. What an interesting duo huh..

You see Ei, xiao and kujou sara, weapons out, chasing venti. Ah so the culprit was him. Better stop this nonsense as they might just kill the poor bard.

Your voice ecoed down your abode .

"ENOUGH"

And with that the whole caos seem to stop for a moment. Everyone in the room looks at you. Hehe, works everytime.

"Tell me what happened here" you demanded. And they told you the story you already guessed with just a glance through the room. (Poor nahida got scared the most ;;)

Venti was singing your praises, well... Mostly praises, he also used this opportunity to show off how much he is liked by you. Zhongli and Ei got angry, how dare he spit LİES and blasphemy about you and ruin your image?!

Zhongli kept his composure but it wasnt the same for Ei. Al haitham made a remark about his silance and that lead to the convertion you saw them have.

Nahida tried to stop Ei but it only fueled her more. The breaking point was when while venti was singing, and using his power to make affects, he accidently pushed over one of the most expensive ornaments, and told them you would forgive him anyways ehe.

You sighed, "why did this turn into that one scene in DDLC (doki doki litterature club) where Yuri and natsuki fight.."

"Your Grace, please tell us the truth, do you favor this bard more than us?" Ei said in desperation. But all you could see was Yuri, panicing over you not liking the poem more than the others.

Al haitham couldnt act like he didnt hear you, however, "Forgive my interruption... But what is.. DDLC?"

"DDLC... Hmmm... İ think i heard this one" Nahida speaked up. She knows???? Oh god she has been in your computer she knows....

"İf im not mistaken, İts a litterature club that is sentient. They are aware of the creators appearance from the start and theyre... Hmm.. quite friendly with your Grace"

To that, venti panics, "Y... YOU DO NOT FAVOR THEM MORE THAN US DO YOU?!?!"

You blush "WHA- N-NO?! WHAT DO YOU EVEN-"

"Could this be... That they created that world for them to be their courts?" Zhongli thought out loud, clearly more interested in the worlds purpose than the fact that you had lovers in other worlds.

"NO?! Well kinda??? bUT NO İ-" You panic, that WAS a dating simulator afterall, but you downloaded it for the spooks rather than... Well kind of that to.

You hide your face in your hands, somehow, you feel like you are being interrogated rather than interrogating them, "ima pull a sayori if this keeps up" you said between your hands.

Days later, you walk in the streets of Mondstat, and you overheard the rumbling of drunkards that are leaving cat's tail.

"Did youui knoo dat our beloved creto *hic* creted a world.. dats full of deir LOVERS?"

"Maaaannn i wish i was the creatoorr.... Having a whooolleee world as their court?! Now thats something."

Anon with the friend who's reading tlt on the reverse order: Yes, he knows he's being a lab rat, he doesn't keep motes on the books because he's very much a casual reader (and thus perfect for the experiment) and so far we have only done Nona The Ninth and The Unwanted Guest, plus some chapters of HTN & Doctor Sex. There's the slight chance of osmosis corruption because I occasionally reblog modern au memes on my main blog, which I think is how he got Palamedes' whole deal.

There's not much he guessed, and even less he guessed correctly. He did call the fact Crown and Ianthe are related a pleasant plot twist, and he initially thought John was Varun.

The most interesting guess he had, which he arrived through flawed means, was Paul's existence, and the fact Pyrrha had some sort of connection to Gideon The Ninth — mostly because he guessed the average Lyctorhood to be Camilla and Palamedes', and with the reference of Gideon and G1deon as 1) permanently dead, in a setting where he's aware necromancy exists and he thought zombies to be actual resurrected people 2) connected to Pyrrha, and 3) the fact Pyrrha had "some weird vibes" (he refused to elaborate) led him to thinking Pyrrha was half Gideon, half someone else, and the reason Kiriona was vaguely off-putting to people was because she didn't have a full soul. Anyways he did think the same would happen to Palamedes and Camilla, which it did, and that Kiriona was pissed at Pyrrha because of an ambiguous degree of relationship

We have paused rn, as the labrat experiment is in return for me reading a webcomic per book

Oh yeah also im doing this because i either dreamt a post proposing it up or actually saw it, and honestly i wanted to see how much biases and previous narrative impacted the relationship of the reader with tlt characters, their relationships, and worldbuilding, as i absorbed tlt by osmosis as an agender aroace. so yeah giving a gay guy tlt without previous context in the reverse order to complete the trifecta (lesbian woman reading it in the correct order, aroace agender getting to know it by osmosis and figuring out the plot best I could before reading it, gay guy reading it in reverse)

"Thought John was Varun at first" is soooo big brained actually! I'm always thinking about John's more RB-like traits. I'm also very amused that he cast Pyrrha as the zombie puppeteer, I bet he's going to love tiny Harrow walking around her dead parent's bodies for a decade.

I also feel like the worldbuilding in NtN is veeery different from the general #vibe of the first two books — it feels like an "anime filler arc" kind of sidequest plot — and I'm very curious if going from NtN to HtN is going to make the settings vibe changes feel stronger or weaker than reading it normally would.

Anyway, I love that you decided to do this, and please let us know what he thinks about HtN! I hope you enjoy the webcomic :D

their night started off rather uneventfully, as their exhaustion made itself apparent from their long day out with friends. walking around aimlessly was the one thing that fuelled the drag, but not without feelings of isolation. With the pairing of cold shoulders accompanied by prolonged silent treatments, y/n didn’t dare confront kita with her mindfulness of when his gaze lingered on the faces of some of the women in their friend group. 'It's just basic manners of eye contact; he’s not doing anything wrong' is what she would relentlessly repeat to herself.

even though she'd try to convince herself that her boyfriend was never the type to do such a thing, his friendliness would counteract her ideas of hope with doubtfulness. kita noticed how she'd loosen the grip between their interlocked fingers whenever he'd share a laugh with one of the girls. how her smile would falter when he turned his head to converse with them. though this detail was small, he still picked up on how y/n would have him repeat his sentences because she 'didn't hear' him, even though they were within a finger’s reach of each other. all she craved was his attention, even if it were to be extended by a second.

tensions clouded their drive back home. in an attempt to swat away the fog, they mutually agreed to watch a newly released horror movie in the silent hopes of easing their obvious discomfort. kita began to develop the trait of learning to hide his emotions, which would prove beneficial to his volleyball team as it kept the opposing side guessing what course of action he’d take. Though, as they say, opposites attract. Someone could tell how y/n was feeling from miles away due to her expressive body language. nevertheless, as they sat together on the couch, whether or not y/n relished it, the way she leaned in closer to kita's person as his digits danced against her skin, kita had no trouble being able to read her true, undisclosed feelings.

y/n finally turned her head, breaking the session of excruciating silence and giving kita a lustful glare before placing eager kisses on the crook of his neck. despite the shower that he'd taken just minutes prior, the now-faint scent of his cologne still lingered within the pores of his skin, which she so desperately wanted to bury herself in.

one thing, of course, led to another, and that's what brought them here. kita's hands made restless motions of pleasure with the inserting motions of his digits in and out of her sex. y/n was already becoming a breathless mess at his lack of mercy with her. already coming to her high at least twice already; however, kita was seemingly unpleased. his eyes lingered on the screen of the tv while y/n hugged his arm to try and ground herself to reality while next to him. he forced her to keep her legs spread because if she were to do otherwise...

"why should I? my sweet angel was just complaining about how I gave my attention to other girls, and now she can't handle what she asked for." y/n let out a whine when he fixed his wrist to reach even further inside her. "am I, sweetheart?"

y/n was reluctant to give an audible answer, so she sufficed with a nod. "i just don't want that thought crossing this empty head of yours again." he laughed, his tongue skillfully catching the traveling arousal that'd made its way to his wrist. "i'll give you what you asked for, and you're going to take every ounce, got it?" he said, using the pads of his middle and ring finger to swipe a bit of her own arousal onto her bottom lip. he leaned in for a sloppily shared kiss, and as he pulled back, his freehand ran down her abdomen before stopping just barely under her belly button. he pressed into the area slightly, y/n shivering at the bitter temperature of his finger tips.

"is this where you wanna feel me, sweetheart?"

he asked, gently trailing his fingers further up, now stopping above her belly button and below her sternum. "or do you wanna feel me here?" y/n let out a whimper when he pressed into the area with much more force this time. "can you take all of me, angel?" y/n nodded eagerly at his words. kita wasted no time pulling his bottoms down to his thighs, revealing his erected member. y/n knew kita wasn't the type to come apart as quickly as his endurance allowed him to go on for hours.

she let out a whine of his name before following out with his request. kita gave into his pity felt for y/n, once again firmly gripping her hips to aid her in riding out her approaching climax. they let out synchronized sounds of pleasure as their highs finally approached one another. y/n panted heavily, breath fanning kita's cheek as he admired the slight jolts of pleasure that continued to coarse throughout her body. his warm arousal settled in her sex as kita pulled her to his chest, placing a kiss on her shoulder.

Having completed her Angling Ace aspiration, Marin got cake-d up and sent on a vacation to Granite Falls and try and complete her fish collection. This gen's quirk is that they have to flirt with everyone who they encounter at a fishing spot, until they find their long-term partner.

I know that the term 'long-term partner' is deliberately vague and leaves room for an aro-ace relationship (orrrr even a bff who you live with and raise a kid together?) which I appreciate. I know that she doesn't have to find her partner from this selection - the wording is that she just has to keep on flirting until she does.

But even of the premade townies, no one is sparking joy? I could default to Nalani, who you'd think would be perfect (I mean, gorgeous merperson and actually interesting in spite of her blah occult) and yet for some reason I'm just not feeling the two of them together.

So then the Watcher, in all her benevolence (aaaannd admittedly her cheapness for waiting on a sale to buy Lovestruck) set up a club for Marin. It was to be a club for young adults. It was to be a club for unmarried Sims. Which - I wish there was a finer means of classification, because I know damn well the two of you are engaged, Darrel Charm and Mateo Markovic from My Wedding Stories (whose name I had to look up, that's how little you inspire me). Bland as forbidden word townie from a pack so broke that it may as well be a millennial. Aaaand also it was to be a club for people with Level 2 Fishing and above.

Thus: young adults, unmarried, some skill (and therefore, hopefully interest) in fishing. Cute, cool. Hopefully we've weeded the catfish out of the pond.

Then we pulled up the tab of potential candidates and guess which forbidden word comes up.

For context, I have history with Lou Howell. I have beef with Lou Howell. Nothing particularly wrong with the guy, apart from a certain lightfingeredness (klepto trait) and a slight body hair problem around particular times of the month. But this motherfucker is like an universal adapter when it comes to all my Sims and I have to consciously make a decision to stay away from him in saves. In other words, Lou Howell is unwelcome here.

(I also don't really know yet what I'm doing with the fourth/next gen. Yeah, the rules say using music to make money. This Watcher however is this forbidden word tired of celebrity Sims popping up around the most random and out-of-way places that she's about to eject Get Famous into the sun, however, and it's taking every last once of willpower not to deactivate it right now. Sooo if I had an idea of what the fourth gen looked like, then I may have a less vague idea of what the baby daddy/mommy/gender neutral genetic donor should look like.)

My thoughts on what might happen in some of those scenarios:

[In case it's confusing: I call the bad guy Melkor or Morgoth depending on how he was called at a given point in story. this is the natural way to do it for me.]

Feanor doesn't make the Silmarils is the boring option tbh.

Cooperate with Melkor... you could have Melkor gaining some common sense, and generally those two realizing that they have some ugly traits in common and getting into a more constructive sort of rivarly... but no. :D Realistically, it would end up as bad as the canon, maybe with a different setup of alliances and anmities.

Doesn't go to the party... I think this is what Melkor expected. We end up with Feanor dead but I think he would beat up Melkor well too. Melkor had underestimated him.

Which means that Ungolianth would have a good opportunity to negotiate her payment earlier. We may end up with a hilarious (well, ok, also tragic because Feanor dies) scene where Tulkas is the one to chase Ungoliant off from Melkor's face.

And Melkor gets (impisoned? kicked into the void?) so Beleriand is safe, I guess. Well, except one little admirable guy being left there without any supervision.

Also, the Trees are dead but the Silmarils are probably reclaimed and without Feanor having the opportunity to refuse earlier, his sons may allow the Valar to use them. The problem is: can anyone break them? (Alternatively, they got eaten by Ungolianth)

Take Finwe and Silmarils to the party… I assume Melkor knew (at least predicted) that Feanor would leave the gems (and maybe himself too) at home. So here we end up with a last-minute change of plans leading to a very surprised Melkor.

The Trees are still dead, but the Silmarils are available, and with Finwe being alive... I don't know. Feanor would surely take Finwë's opinion into account, but would Finwë want him to let Yavanna reboot the Trees at the cost of Silmarils? With Feanor believing that it would kill him: no, he wouldn't.

We still very likely get an Oath (to protect them from the Valar, which was imo the main goal of the oath) and Finwë is swearing it too. I like it, this makes 9 of them and 9 is a cool number.

And the Oath means that Feanor is banished, so they leave to Beleriand anyway. They wanted to leave even before the Darkening. Just with Finwë. Which may impact Olwë's reaction and later, Thingol's. Also, Finwë is the one going to "parley" with Morgoth (about what, if he has no Silmarils? idk, but Morgoth would think of something for sure)

Give up the Silmarils… Ooooh. this is the interesting one. I'll be honest: this is the one with best vibes for me. It just feels right and like it would result in the worst of Feanor's flaws going away.

The Trees are still dead, because the jewels are gone. However, I imagine this would change how the Silmarils impact Morgoth (because metaphysics). and by that I mean it's both more painful and somehow more constructive, more helpful to the general story?

Also there would be a Valar-approved army going to reclaim the gems, probably led by Eonwë. And much more coherent and with less tensions. And, of course, no problem with ships.

I like to think that Indis would go to war (why not? Morgoth killed her husband after all, even if she didn't care much for said husband). I like it because then she can die and Finwë and Miriel can live happily again and by letting go of revenge for Finwë, Feanor would eventually get Finwë back which is wonderful.

I don't hate Indis, but she is the third wheel here, sorry. Also, I believe she would stay in Mandos to let Finwë be happy with Miriel, because she is a good person. A good perso that is the third wheel.

Generally, somehow, happy ending. Happier than in the Silm, anyway. And Feanor doesn't die, or at least not for long. Miriel could heal after giving birth to him, he can heal after breaking the Silmarils.

Don't leave Aman... I'm not sure. He may start a civil war eventually (preasure the Valar to chase Morgoth and the preasuring escalates).

Doesn't swear the oath. This is another interesting one. He is not banished from Aman, just leaves by himself. The Teleri may be more cooperative. There may be no or less of doom of the Noldor.

It all may result in the sons of Feanor being much more cooperative after he died, trying to somehow make amends with the Valar? IDK.

Doesn't fight the Teleri… What's the alternative? Trying to build his own ships, or Helcaraxe? With all the tensions among his host? I think it's another "civil war" one.

Doesn't burn the ships… Much damage is done already, and I think Feanor still goes in front of the army and dies. It's just in character for him.

Succession crisis ensues (I don't think Maedhros liked Fingolfin a whole lot at this point?), Morgoth invites a king to a parlay… both of them, asking each to keep it secret… Fingolfin has to save both his cousin and his father.

I don't think there's much improvement overall. There is surely a big improvement for all who died or otherwise suffered the Helcaraxe, but in the historical perspective? Not much.

Doesn't die on Balrogs? This results to Maedhros not gtting captured, at least not so early. Feanor wouldn't go to a parlay— wait. He wouldn't be invited to a parlay. He would be invited to a duel. And go there, of course. Morgoth would be delighted. (Of course there would be no duel. It would be the same as with the parlay... And then he would have Feanor to "play with")

The sons would probably assume him dead? I'm not sure. Or they would die one by one trying to free him?

Anyway, bad idea. Probably worse than canon.

No second oath… I don't think it would change much. It felt like it deserved to be an option, but… idk.

Hiya! 💛✨ Thank you so, so much! And ooo this is such a fun question. Tbh, I have too many, I could write an essay! This account isn’t as popular as my au blog since I’m pretty inactive on it so probably only like 3 people will see this… but I hope those hypothetical 3 people enjoy my inevitable waffle and chaos! <3

Will also use this opportunity to hype up some friends and people who’s work I admire!!!

A few of my favourite Tails Headcannons! :

- I love the idea that him and Sonic were 4 and 11 when they first met.

- Sonic will always be Tails’ big brother first and foremost… however, as Aosth Tails put it: “You’re my mom, you’re my dad and you’re my picket fence!”. Sonic having accidentally become the closest thing Tails has to a parental figure has a hold on my heart and I love how writers like @chaoxfix and my homie @myyla-x portray this in their fics!

- After having first met (and honestly even a few years in) if Sonic ever had to leave Tails alone for a while for whatever reason, maybe to protect him from a particular battle, Tails would deal with hardcore abandonment issues. Poor lil guy would fear Sonic wouldn’t come back, that he didn’t want him around anymore (which is made 10 times worse if you headcannon he was abandoned by his parents). Lil guy wouldn’t know what to do with himself <\3

- Tails reminds Shadow of Maria. Probably my favourite Tails headcannon! Though I guess it’s more of a Shadow headcannon… am I using this as an excuse to talk about it? More likely then you’d think. But ahh, those blue eyes, yellowish fur, sweet gentle childlike wonder, love of life and learning + Ian flynn has confirmed given her upbringing Maria was prob a bit of a science kid. Ah <3 Plus that brings the idea of Sonic and Tails’ dynamic reminding him of his with Maria’s and that makes me want to cry. I actually have a WIP fic about this headcannon but it’s been a wip for like a year… hopefully one day I’ll finish it cause I’m literally obsessed with the idea and want to see it through.

^ Also extra nostalgic about this headcannon cause my friendship with @sh-0-w-1-sh literally started cause they were looking for art ideas and I was like TAILS REMINDING SHADOW OF MARIA!!! And here we are almost a year later!

- For better or for worse he’s picked up a lot of his big bros traits. I’m talking puns, poses, that lil nose rub and foot tapping, occasional cockiness, being self sacrificial, the list goes on. Once he realises this or anyone else especially Sonic points it out, he’d probably be super embarrassed and deny it <3

Speaking of picking up habits…

- While he would definitely be scared by certain situations like this ( << the Starline issue 35 and 36 situation being a good example with other people being at risk and him not really understanding the situation or his role in it ) I think Tails would be pretty desensitised to being kidnapped or hostage situations at this point. He’d probably just find it an inconvenience more then anything or be entertained by the hypothetical villains incompetence. Me and @myyla-x had a conversation about this idea once and… it’s been like 6 months and we’re still talking about it. One day that’ll make sense. We got a lil carried away. Just a lil. Anyway someone get this kid therapy. <3

- An already pretty popular one but I felt the need to mention it cause I relate, but he gets so sucked into projects and his inventions that hours and hours can go by and he just zones out and forgot to eat… well, anything but mints at least.

- Tails is a theatre kid. :D Is this self projection? … maybe. If nobody else gets me @guiltypandas gets me <3 :,)

- I think Tails would be in denial if Sonic died. As smart and logical as that little guy is, given how Sonic has beat the unbeatable, has come back before and seems invisible… yeah. <\3 I think he’d always hold onto the hope that it would only be a matter of time until Sonic comes back… even if this time that wouldn’t be the case… my friend @whitecatindisguise actually wrote an amazing fic about this when we talked about the idea called He’s (Not) Coming Back (which if you haven’t already you should totally check out cause it’s amazing! And a heart breaking! The best kinda fic :,) )

- I think Tails has a heart of gold…but I also think depending on certain circumstances if he hadn’t have met Sonic he could have gone down a much darker path (which I guess ended up being somewhat proven with Nine in Sonic Prime!). Me and @casperangel have screamed about this too many times then I can count and it haunts me.

- Tails is a sweetie, a cutey patooty, like an adorable little house cat… but similarly (and yet again as proven thanks to Prime!) Tails definitely has a feral side. Especially if he hasn’t gotten enough sleep or gets his mints confiscated. @dunkinbublin and @studioboner ‘s accounts are absolute goldmines when it comes to Tails multitasking being an adorable lil guy and a feral lil menace!

- Tails and Tangle have sibling energy! I mean, Tails is basically everyone’s adopted little brother, Knuckles and Amy especially, but I think him and Tangles dynamic isn’t talked about enough and I’m super glad we’ve had some sweet moments with them in the comics! @pocketscribbs is feeding the Tails and Tangle nation fr <3

uhhhhh so let's ignore the fact that I haven't uploaded on tiktok in like 2 weeks + I haven't made a proper post in a whiillleeee T-T

I WILL get to those asks soon, I just really have barely any time on my hands as I'm out and about 8 hrs a day (I'm seriously not exaggerating 😭😭😭)

anyways, let's start with Miaene Lumynstrov.

pronunciation:

Miaene: (Mee-'anne') ('an' as in 'and' without the d))

Lumynstrov: (Loo-min-straw-v) ('v' as in the typical 'v' sound lmao)

appearance:

Miaene's appearance is modelled after Naoi Rei. I actually saw the first photo in this section and came up with everything about Miaene on the spot 😭😭. Miaene has a serious but lovely appearance, though her personality is essentially all thorns and ice. She's got pale skin due to training indoors and the use of umbrellas on particularly sunny days. Her irises are a deep pine green; her eyes are sharp yet round.

Miaene's haircut may be popular in our OR, but it definitely isn't in this DR (haircut in the first photo). Some think it's blocky while others find it unique. Her haircut is inspired by an accident in a spar match. Her opponent sliced a part of her hair, and Miaene’s mom didn’t want to shear her hair short. Instead, they hired a hairstylist known for him unique haircuts to fix Miaene’s hair while preserving the length. This haircut is what he came up with.

Despite its uniqueness, Miaene likes how her hair makes her stand out. Her hair has made her more recognizable, and she believes that it’s helped judges in competitions remember who she is.

Overall, she is lean but fit.

personality:

As mentioned earlier, she is all thorns and ice. She’s the kind of person to say “I’m here to work, not to make friends”. Definitely either an INTJ or an ISTJ. Genuinely has no friends, not even joking.

Nobody’s really seen her laugh, it’s not like she doesn’t though, she def has 😭 she laughs at rather stupid things, but tends to try and stifle her amusement to keep up a serious facade.

Reputation is an incredibly important thing to her. She hates distasteful rumors the most, and is prepared to do whatever to prove herself to others. She cares a lot about what other people think about her, and will go to great lengths to make herself seem greater than she really is. She isn’t the type to lie necessarily though; it’s more that she tries to exaggerate her most prominent positive traits (mostly being hardworking, a great leader, responsible).

She’s quite prideful and absolutely hates outright lying. Miaene is a crazy talented swordswoman and archer.

Miaene is especially particular when it comes to her skin and (kinda) health. She’s a bit of a neat freak and she often wears long gloves to prevent the sun from touching her skin. Miaene is always using a UV blocking charm to alleviate the effects of the rays on her skin. She is huge on overworking herself though.

If I had to compare her personality to a fictional character, I’d say she’s similar to Ines from The Broken Ring: This Marriage Will Fail Anyway.

Miaene is heavily favored by Straus’ family and is set to marry Straus sometime after Aethergarde. Straus and Miaene have an acquaintance-like relationship, and are not close despite their families involvement.

They’ve known each other since childhood, but Miaene has always thought he was a bit dull for her liking. Miaene doesn’t really like Straus romantically, but she is set on marriage with him because she sees the benefit in marrying someone of his caliber.

Miaene has no other siblings, which makes her an only child.

it's so interesting to me how much Alec seems to care about his family in retrospect when we've seen illustrated time and time again that he didn't seem to care about them (or at least his son) in the moment pretty much at all. i guess it's a "you don't know what you have until it's gone" type of thing?

hey, we finally got names!

well, that happened. once again, congrats to the AleRiya shippers. i probably still prefer them as friends for now, but i'm not opposed to them becoming a ship in the future. i doubt they will, since the writers seem to really like Connor and Riya and probably want that to be endgame, but i digress. it's really important to Alec's character, i think, that he was one of the only completely new characters created for s1, and was quite possibly crafted with an All Stars season in mind. thus, as much as Alec was created for Fiore in s1 (to help her have numbers and allies and stuff), he may have also been created for Riya in DCAS. i wouldn't be surprised if a lot of Alec's traits were crafted with this friendship and possibly even this plot beat in mind.

yay, fun superhero challenge! love a good themed episode. i do think the fact that like... five people could have had immunity in this one was kind of weird, but, eh. as it turns out, Grett and Gabby could have won immunity as well as Aiden and Jake and it would have changed literally nothing about the outcome of this vote. it was really just about Yul (and kind of Connor, i guess).

i do wonder if Yul's elimination will essentially spell the end of the "heroes versus villains" portion of the game, and the gameplay will shift to being more individually focused. we do kinda have four groups of two at the moment-- Gabby and Grett, Alec and Riya, Aiden and Jake, and... Connor and Ally, I guess? that could make for some interesting votes.

after a somewhat longer hiatus than usual, now we're going to be doing one episode per week! how exciting! in that case, i'll see you again on (presumably) Wednesday for the power rankings, and if you don't read those, once again on Saturday for Episode 14. bye for now!

Marma1ade's Minecraft Skins

I decided to make a post for this because some of the skins have lore stuff attached, some of them I can MAKE lore attached, and some are just missing. Post under read more bc it gets long :P

FIRST! There are currently eight skins under the profile Marma1ade on namemc, despite marm having ten skins total on namemc and in videos (image ids in alt):

What I call the skins:

#8 is s1 Let's Play Marm, #7 is s2 Let's Play Blue Eyes Marm, #6 is Hardcore Marm, #4 is Mangrove Witch Marm, #5 is Pride Mangrove Marm, #3 and #1 are both Void-y Marm, and #2 has not appeared in any recordings that I know of but is named Fancy Blue Coat Marm. (very creative, I know sdlkfjadsf)

The missing skins are Mustache Marm, which I found on SadMilkman's namemc, that she wore during SBK's Milkman Tag minigame:

...and s2 Let's Play Purple Eyes/Chunklock Marm, which I got two screenshots of:

Most of the skins' lore can be found in videos, or it's irrelevant. But Purple Eyes Marm happened in chunklock first, where episode one was posted after Marm beat the ender dragon in her s2 LP world. The change was not in-video and was never mentioned by Marm herself, but she's had purple eyes ever since!

There could be lore implications behind this, but it's highly unlikely, even if Marm has made comments (in the tags/comments of posts she reblogs) that could be her hinting at making lore connections to her previous series- especially Let's Play s1, where her first base was in a mangrove swamp and overall she had a very magical theme to her builds.

Void-Y Marm only exists because something about the void and its magic changed HER magic, resulting in physical corruption, which gets worse with more exposure, apparently!

NOW, something notable about all of her skins is their common shared trait: SHE ALWAYS* HAS A FLOWER IN HER HAIR.

(*with the exception of s1 LP Marm, who has blue hair ties/ribbons and I THINK butterflies but I can't quite tell)

Marm's blue sweater skins all have cherry blossoms, but Mangrove Marm has orchids- because of the swamp, and those are the swamp flowers, and all that. Marm loves cherry trees, too, which is why she has cherry blossoms otherwise! It's a crown of flowers for all but Hardcore Marm, who just has them tucked behind her ear.

We've devolved mostly into headcanon territory now, but based off of Marm's comments on my previously shared headcanons as well as her eyes turning black from her void magic lore, I'm either really good at guessing what she's got going on or she's partially taking inspo from me. Either way I have a lot of fun with her character and I think she's great :D ANYWAYS!

There could possibly be lore about what flowers she has in her hair and how it relates to her series! Chunklock is, so far, the only series with flowers that don't match her main biome, but that's a miniseries with no real way to pick-and-choose a main biome to live in due to the way the mod works. In LP s2 and Hardcore, she lives in or directly next to (respectively) a cherry blossom biome, and as I mentioned two paragraphs ago, SBK Marm/Mangrove Marm has orchids because of the swamp.

If she does have cross-series lore about the mangrove magic, then lore-wise it could be that her flowers are a result of her magic reacting to her biome?

FURTHER NOTES: s1 LP Marm has a slightly different hair texture, pants, shoes, and sweater than the rest of them. S1 LP and S2 LP Blue Eyes Marm both have a slightly different shade of blue for their sweater than the rest of them. S2 LP Purple Eyes Marm also has no cherry blossoms in her shoes, unlike S2 LP Blue Eyes Marm. She also has five non-series videos, which she uses whichever skin she happens to be already wearing for. She has five series, too!

hi guys im a little bit deranged about q!wilbur. like you dont understand. hes so different. he's genuinely so different from every character wilburs played in the last 3 years ok.

wilburs got a penchant for playing characters as:

1) a con artist,

2) a pathetic sadboy,

or 3) a combination of those traits

but q!wilbur is so different. for one, hes altruistic, most of his actions on the server are for the sake of community rather than his own ego. not only that, but hes honest, too. sure he plays the occasional prank but he doesnt lie or obscure his feelings from his peers. when he and fit found tallulah, he told him straight up that he felt compassion for her but feared the responsibility of fatherhood because he knew his capability to let people down. when she disappeared he freaked out about missing his chance but continued to search for her regardless, even playing a song to lure her out of hiding. unlike 80% of the characters wilbur chooses to play, lying to himself and others wasnt even an option.

by contrast, dsmp!wilbur was too naive and postured his way through his life, always fearing someone would see through the cracks and call him out for what he truly is. and his fear and passiveness put people in harms way a lot. in fact, you could say it's the main reason that other characters disliked him. his ego and fear of his act failing led directly and indirectly to their pain. he was a real man trapped in a story and decided to act the part. q! Wilbur, on the other hand, is just a guy who wants to remain nothing more than that. and yet, hes not jaded, like rust!wilbur, nor is he a fool, like d!wilbur. when told by phil about how he would learn to feel more protective of tallulah after seeing all the dangers of their world, he responded with,

"hey man. hey man. phil? when I've seen the dangers of this world- which im sure i will, in due time- I'll be the one picking up the sword, not tallulah, don't worry."

both acknowledging that his perception of the world was flawed while also promising to adapt and get his hands dirty when the world bares it's fangs at them!! which is just so absolutely refreshing after every character hes made for the past 2 years' central character trait was hiding! sure, the story beats are the same- a man joins a server and starts a community, has it destroyed, and remains pacifistic throughout, but his reaction to it is entirely different. for once, the loss is incidental to the narrative. he doesnt like spreen, but he can move forward. for once, he promises to fight rather than fleeing his fears and hoping they dont kick his ass.

and if you're like, "why does this matter," the last time he even played a character close to this was smp earth! its so rare to see him just playing A Guy that i genuinely couldn't guess where his character arc might go! with almost every other character wilbur plays, you can track a narrative. guy wants to be more than what he is, is confronted by the world, and lets his fear ruin him. q!wilbur's narrative is on another train entirely. sayonara to cowardice, hello getting shit done!

I of course agree about disliking this thing where people go "X political opponent of mine is weird and awkward, haha", including when it comes from Democrats. In addition to it simply being ableist and hurtful to people who have struggled with social skills - I'm certainly no fan of J. D. Vance, and I imagine you aren't either. But I think there are lots of very intelligent, thoughtful people who would make great policy decisions but aren't especially socially charismatic. (1/2)

You're right that I'm no fan of Vance: his book that made him famous might have some merits for all I know (I haven't read it), but at least since then he seems to be a completely phony chameleon, and, worst of all, he's chosen to run on a ticket with Trump, which is pretty automatically disqualifying for my respect. That, and all his vitriol towards childless people and cat ladies and so on is much worse than any of the specific examples of ableist undertones I see from the other side.

I'll also say that all the ridicule of Walz's son for standing up and tearfully shouting "That's my dad!" a bit non-neurotypically after Walz's words of love for his children (ugh! God forbid! actual exemplary family values are just dumb and cringey, at least if they come from Democrats!) made me far angrier than any kind of ableism that would come from David Pakman. The only reason I didn't go on a rant about it here is that I already got it out of my system on Facebook. And there's plenty of other garbage coming from the Trump/Vance side about Harris laughing a little strangely (supposedly? her laugh seems pretty normal to me) which makes her intolerable and so forth.

Still, two wrongs don't make a right.

And anyway, I agree that social skills shouldn't be considered such a huge factor in what makes for a qualified politician -- it does need to be somewhat of a factor, but I wish we didn't live in a world where most public support for politicians is based on vibes and most vibes come from superficial mannerisms. It wasn't true 150 years ago and is an unfortunate product of our modern technological world.

Also, if Pakman and his ilk want to point out that Vance was very awkward in the donut shop by typical politician standards and this doesn't bode too well for him because that's how politics works, I wouldn't really have a problem with that. (That's essentially the treatment they gave deSantis.) It's the "ha ha ha, nyah nyah nyah" -flavored mockery, which comes across as being independent of the context of politicians being held to extremely high standards of charisma, that gets to me.

I also might as well mention (though this is less in response to your ask) that this came somewhat in the wake of an earlier Pakman clip that I mentioned in the other post that I was even more annoyed by, didn't bother to post about it at the time, but I just recovered it. Seriously, Pakman, in an uncharacteristically halting way, says the following in anticipation of showing Vance issuing a few kind of evasive and sub-par answers at an event and being a little awkward by politician standards but still less awkward than most ordinary people in their everyday lives:

The only -- uh -- how can I even say this?... The only people I know personally who are this uncharismatic-seeming... Man, it's just so hard to say this without sounding so offensive. There's, like, some explanation, um, that sometimes is... medical in nature... uh, it just sounds so horrible to say... I-I guess what I'm trying to say is, it's... it's a personality that he seems to have that is really an edge case. It's a fringe personality of some way to be this unappealing as a person, some traits of which sometimes connect to medical explanations -- I don't believe they do with JD Vance -- I think he's just really a horrible person, is what I'm trying to say. About the Kaito keeping his secret ID through Refuge In Audacity do you think Conan stuck with his first guess that KID was younger than 20 or later dismissed it as KID wearing a mask? (Ik this isn't relevant to the kuroba sitcom but I had Ditto in the brain haha)

I personally hc that he logicked it away as "he can't be THAT young, learning all those skills he has would take time" and then Kaito TOLD HIM his mom was Phantom Lady who did crazy gymnastics so she couldn't have been very old and dissappeared a scant 20 years ago and Conan went "welp"

Ik that Hakuba figured KID's age through DNA and then compared to highschool databases across the country, but first that's not how DNA tests work, the length that tells how old someone is changes from person to person, and second, I'm not familiar w Japanese laws regarding privacy and DNA databases but I'm fairly sure that what Hakuba did was like. GREAT QUESTION I think conan kept it in mind, but became less sure of himself over time. conan/shinichi has a pretty skewed idea of what kids are capable of doing, and I think he knows this about himself, so it’s reasonable for him to think “...nah, it would be insane if a high schooler was doing all this… right?” and if he was basing his original age guess off of what he could see of kid’s face and body shape, well, he learned very quickly that kid can change any of those traits at any time. who’s to say that kid wasn’t wearing makeup/a mask/anything else that might change his silhouette? …left to his own devices for long enough, conan can become a victim of his own overthinking, lol.

aaaand then kaito dropped the Phantom Lady tidbit. that, if anything, seemed to me like a peace offering of some kind? possibly meant to even the playing field between them? as always, it’s hard to tell what shinichi and kaito actually Know in canon, though I’m of course personally a fan of them knowing the least amount of information possible while still being as intelligent as we know they are. because shenanigans >:D

if we want to have fun with it ;) , I think the phantom lady reveal only narrows down kid’s age to,,,,, younger than 30? ish? it mostly gives conan an upper limit, since he doesn’t know whether kid was born before or after her retirement, and she easily could’ve retired in her early 30s. what it Does confirm is that this kid isn’t the original one, but that only narrows his identity down to “probably a protege of kid #1.” from there, the biggest bit of provable evidence against kaito is that his father died right when the original kid disappeared, but that’s still a pretty big logic leap to make when you aren’t around kaito all the time (like hakuba is). and toichi had students, too! who knows who else he taught besides yukiko and sharon? who is more likely to be kaitou kid: an undercover protege of toichi’s, or his teenage son who has an alibi for multiple heists?

best I can tell from some brief research, in Japan, DNA collection isn’t regulated for law enforcement, but hakuba isn’t law enforcement, he’s a consultant at best. I think other DNA tests for ppl age 16+ require consent of the person, and 16 or younger require the consent of a parent. hakuba has NEITHER. hakuba was saved from being a juvenile criminal by nepotism and the fact that nakamori laughed in his face instead of charging him with obstruction of justice or something. and yeah, that’s Absolutely Not How DNA Tests Work adjfksjdj

FR THO!! now I’m imagining hakuba chasing kid through a museum yelling “WHAT NUMBER LOGICALLY FOLLOWS THE SERIES ACCORDING TO THE GIVEN PATTERN” while kid answers with, like, extremely confused perfect accuracy. “400 iq” honestly sounds more like something hakuba made up to explain the fact that kid could answer the iq test questions while rappelling down a skyscraper lol. and I totally agree, kaito’s probably never been officially tested—it’s important for kids to be with their peers, especially when you’re already likely to have child prodigy syndrome. also because kaito and aoko get along so well, they would run the risk of never making other friends (cough shinichi cough). plus, the kurobas probably like to avoid official records as much as possible, and scoring even in the 160+ range would gather attention that their family of internationally-wanted criminals does Not need

Finchel, Klaine, and Polin pt. 1

Rachel, Kurt, and Penelope

This... first of all is a reply to this post :: HERE

It's a been an interesting discourse and thought experiment given by @foundfam2754 and it ended up being so long I'm at least splitting it up into two parts, and possibly three...

Before digging in, a couple of prefaces -- clearly, these are fictional characters written by very different people, and whose worlds just work in vastly different ways. And I think at the end of the day, this is kind of a thought experiment about how stories and characters can function in similar ways within narratives? At least that's how I'm looking at it.

Also, I'm speaking conversationally more than anything. I don't expect anyone to agree with my interpretation - and as I'm talking about fictional characters, I always like to make the disclaimer that fictional characters are always reflected by the prism of the viewer's experiences, and we all take away from stories something different.

I guess, also, it got me thinking about how similar Finn and Blaine are, and I never really thought about it (all these years later) but it's unsurprising. Ryan Murphy and Co ha(d)ve a tendency to write the same type of characters over and over, and there are a lot of similarities in the Finchel and Klaine storylines (some of it intentional, some of it not). But does make for a fascinating analysis when compared to Polin.

[This first part, though, is really about Rachel, Kurt, and Penelope -- Finn, Blaine, and Colin will be later, as well as exploring some relationship dynamic stuff.]

Alright, so I want to start with Penelope and her parallels with Rachel vs Kurt. It's the easier one to compare because I think Rachel and Kurt aren't that far apart from each other. Ryan Murphy and Co really only had a handful of character types -- most characters fall into a few kinds of roles, and literally everyone on the show can be filtered into one of the few.

Rachel and Kurt, are, really, almost the same character. And a lot of the traits that they share, incidentally, they also share with Penelope.

Using some of your examples -- both Rachel and Kurt have been ignored for most of their life. Both have been bullied for being different, and for not fitting into what society deems is worthy. Both have very few people who truly understand them, or even notice them - and their qualities of goodness. Both have had to claw their way to being seen, and at some personal risk.

And I think (show) Penelope shares ALL of that with them.

Kurt and Rachel both, also, have a bit of a dark streak. They can both be divas at times. They can both be sharp and cutting with their words and actions. And, honestly, so can Penelope.

(All of them, also, have an interest and fascination with gossip, which is a funny aside.)

And then there's the point about insecurities. And, I feel like I need more time to think on this. All three of them are socially awkward. All three of them are also self-assured and well grounded within themselves. And all three of them do have insecurities, but I do think it's all in different ways. (But I may need more time to expand on that).

There is one huge, fundamental difference between Rachel and Kurt, though. I don't even mean this in a derogatory way but, Rachel is more selfish, more ambitious, and more willing to sacrifice everything to gain her goals in life. (And thus, often succeeds at being at the top.) Kurt, meanwhile, will always put those he loves first, even at great personal sacrifice. Kurt has an empathy that Rachel often lacks. And while I think that Penelope might land a little in between the two, I do think she does lean on the Kurt side, as she is softer and more caring than Rachel often is.

Then there's how they love. And it's interesting where you write that Rachel wants to be wanted while Penelope wants to be loved. And I do agree with you - but it's interesting that I think how they want to be wanted and/or loved is different. (Because I think Penelope and Kurt love similarly over Rachel)

Rachel and Kurt both crave feeling loved, because both think that they're undeserving of it for various reasons. (And, weirdly, I don't think Penelope believes she's undeserving of it - I think she believes she just won't get it from the source of where she wants it from, which is similar to both Rachel and Kurt but yeah nuance differences there.)

and... It's kind of funny that both Rachel and Kurt both fall for Finn (!!) for similar reasons -- it's a hero worship. It's this belief that Finn is going to give them the love they want and desire but feel is ultimately out of their reach. And yeah, I can see Penelope starting her crush in the same way -- that Colin is someone who was kind to her, who was nice in a world that isn't nice, that seems to look past the weirdness and oddity and the taboo and is like - I like you.

And that's such a powerful thing!

(As an aside, Kurt is going to do this same thing with Blaine.)

The thing that I really want to get into, though, and I'm going to just tease here because I'll probably get into it in a future part -- I think while Klaine, Finchel, and Polin may start out in similar places I think Klaine and Polin have something Finchel doesn't necessarily have -- a foundation of a very solid friendship.

And, again, I'll get into this with a later portion, but I realize this might where we really start to disagree. Because I think Finchel is a relationship that is meaningful for Finn and Rachel while in high school, while they're young and figuring themselves out, but it never progresses to an adult relationship. But, I mean, I also think that Jesse and Rachel are the better match. I think they like and understand each other on a more fundamental level, and they make more sense to me as a couple than Finn and Rachel.

(So while I think Jesse is nothing like Colin (omg that thought is making me laugh) I do think (for me) St. Berry's relationship dynamics are more align with Klaine and Polin -- but again, I'll get way more into that later.)

Anyway, a few more Rachel, Kurt, and Penelope things...

I think all three of them love and feel very deeply. Rachel wears her emotions on her sleeve. Kurt buries them deep and keeps them very protected. Again, I think Penelope ends up a little inbetween -- she exclaims you should declare how you feel fervently and loudly. But she also protects her heart, and keeps her feelings buried, and she's very protective over those she loves.

I think Kurt and Penelope are more so old school romantics. Rachel enjoys romance but is much flashier and gaudier about it.

One of the big things, though, that Rachel and Penelope have in common that Kurt just doesn't --- Rachel and Penelope are women. And there are struggles there Kurt's just not going to get.

Okay, so a quick note about Book Penelope who is... different. She's older -- and perhaps wiser and calmer. She's also softer and kinder. Despite being Whistledown for all those years, she doesn't have the darker edges that show Penelope has (which is more akin to Kurt and Rachel). If anyone, she's a lot more like Mercedes -- but Mercedes wouldn't bother with wasting her time being in love with anyone for fifteen years.

So yeah, I'm going to stop here for now. :)

I was wondering

1-Does Marinette invents new powers all by herself or she alredy knew their possibilities somehow (and never mentioned that to kwamis because they seem suprised)

2-Soo about Nadja's plans, will she really sucessfully bring Misterbug and Cheshire to her show? Its been years since i seen that episode but i remember her being akumatised because it didnt go acording to plan. (i guess she showed the picture of them kissing and...?)

3-What are your plans on Lila? Will she stay in background or became someone important to story?

4-Adult Alix seems very very worried about Bread and she talks about how she will pay her back... im assuming something very very wrong happened to Bread or Alix just feels really guilty. (It also confirms she will know her identity in the future. Is it due to her job or at one time she revealed herself or got revealed? oh no)

5-Considering lack of humans in her life, would it be too much of a exaggerate to believe that Mari didnt interact with anyone who isnt a kwami for days at some point?

6-Its more like wanting some sweet karma but when the fuck will Cloe exiled to literally anywhere else? And what about rest of the class? Seeing them comotose in captured au was a balm to my soul. Also, does Mari knows she can teleport Cloe to noth pole and get away with it? Im sure as hell at least half of kwamis would cheer on her.

8-Mari isnt a cat and that probably means she is a bug but what if she is something else? I really can't come with any ideas but thats interesting as heck.

9-If bonding with your kwami in long term means you gain similar traits from them, assuming Bread keeps Plag for much longer does that means she will be much more like cat like? Will she hate showering? Will she knock of stuff from tables? Will she develop heavy preferance to meat? Will she develop claws???

1: For the most part she knew that there were other powers based on the theories of her ancestor. But the powers she came up with that surprised the kwamies were the ones that should have been impossible. Like, the Black Storm Dragon that was a fusion of two kwamies powers.

2: Nadja's plan in this AU will come about but unlike in the Cannon, where they kept pushing for higher ratings, there is no concern for the same thing to get to her.

3: She is the Starscream, that is all I will say.

4: Alix is concerned about Mari because she hates everything that happened to her BEST friend. I will not say if anything else bad will happen to Mari just that she will be getting some positive development. Now as for how she will learn the cat's identity, that is something to be found out.

5: Now what do you count as Marinette having human contact? Becuase Cheshire would have regular human contact thanks to patrols and other such. Marinette though... She does have contact with her parents through texts and phone calls. Let that just say what you want.

6: The various kwami have pointed out what they could do but Marinette has passed on them. After all the miraculous need to be used for the betterment of humanity.

7: I just double checked and you skipped this number. I don't say that to be mean I just found it funny :D

8: I have honstly been thinking about what Mari could have been. Either a Bug or a Fox. Both are creative and she would work well with either.

9: She will become more cat but as for claws and the like? Those kinda changes will only come about due to over-using Catalyst.
