Can we normalize not paying your co-pays if your doctor ends up bullshitting and basically says it's your fault/it's your mental health/you're fat/ and etc? Why tf am I paying co-pays just to be gaslighted?

Supersons +1 prompt answer
If you asked Danny, 12 year old half-ghost hero of Amity Park, how half-life was going, he'd tell you things were mixed.
On the one hand, he had just spent the last three or four months in family/scientist/'this house is a death trap waiting to happen' therapy with Jazz, and by some miracle, it worked. He wasn't sure if this was some kind of dream as his parents poured over years upon years of research, crossing out lines, rewriting equations, and reevaulating everything they thought they knew about ghosts.
Was the shudders family therapy worth not going over how they'd like to dissect him? he's still not sure. The horror.
Not to mention the attention. Danny was sure he was going to throw up if his parents drag him away for more bonding time, only for a ghost to attack and for him to run off to transform. What made it worse was when the Fentons came barrelling out, guns blazing, alternating between getting mad that he'd interrupted their family time, and asking him questions about "Your suspicious spook culture, if you even have one you dangerous delusional delinquent!"
At least they were trying, but Danny was very much comfortable not spilling the beans on the whole half-ghost situation, thank you very much.
And that's why, when Dad proposed to take him to Gotham to show off their latest invention, he jumped at the chance. The home city of the Batman, one of the greatest heroes known to man (except for Martian Manhunter and Superman of course) and Dad promised to take him to Gotham Observatory too. Not to mention how much he wanted to get away from Jazz's smug looks of superiority. Gotham here he comes!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Damian Wayne scowled as he scanned the crowed of scientists with more smarts than sense. Really, a flying toilet seat. For what deviant?
"Maybe they're for people who can fly." Kent piped up beside him. Father had let the two of them run off together, and his company was mildly more appealing than being alone with his thoughts.
"Why would Superman ever need to relieve himself mid-air. I do not believe you would appreciate your father's rear end being on display for all the world to see."
"True." Jon hummed. His voice lowered to a whisper. "You think indecent exposure is what your dad meant by "scoping out any potential future villains?"
Damian gave Jon a flat look. The sooner this convention ended, the better.
The crowded shifted, and the mass of visitors pushed toward a certain corner, where a man large enough to rival Superman's build stood upon a podium, with a boy their age off to the side.
"Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce to you the latest in FentonWorks' innovations, the Fenton Ghost Zone Radar, soon to revolutionise the study of ghosts!"
"I thought ghosts were a magic thing." Jon said. "You know, stuff Constantine and JLD deal with."
"They are."
"Mixing magic and science is like, like, oil and water. No way this guy's serious, is he?"
"His name is Jack Fenton. That's Daniel Fenton, his son." Damian pointed to the boy in question, looking like he'd seen this scene a hundred times before, but with that knowing glint that promised something deeper. "They're normally spotted alongside Jack's wife, Madeline. Widely regarded as quacks by the larger scientific community for chasing paper-thin theories about ghosts, they've nonetheless gained funding from the government. This is the first time they've left their base of operations in Amity Park for years."
"Woah, you know your stuff, Dami!"
Damian glared at the young Superboy in disguise. "I read the briefing files. Didn't you?"
Kent looked uncomfortable and looked away. "Uhh, maybe?"
"Typical."
"Well, if he's so crazy, then why'd your dad even let him in." Upon another scathing glare, Kent relented. "Oh right, the whole supervillain thing."
"Enough chatter. We'll zero in on the younger Fenton. I intend to squeeze him like a grape, and make Father proud."
"Dami maybe you should be a little nicer-" Only for Damian to march off without him.
Honestly, inane niceties were above someone of his status. Those things were Superboy's job, and if Daniel Fenton wouldn't crack, then Damian was itching to try a new torture technique.
I'm really only making this post so I can easily reference all the mh parents and whatnot, but here's everyone we hadn't seen yet:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cleo's dad looks awesome, damn. I love that design, he's so pretty!
Finnegan's parents make me question something. See, I thought whether monsters like him and Lagoona have hair depended on the specific monster type, but if his parents are both mer-creatures (which is kinda implied), then... Why does his mom have hair. Instead of a fin. Does this depend on gender??? I really hope not. (Unless his mom isn't a mermaid, then disregard this entirely.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here are Medusa and Lyra again because they are prettyyy and I love them already. Lesbian moms ftw.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We know them. But everyone pictured here is going to show up in the upcoming episodes! I was really hoping to see more of the parents so I'm excited about that. Disappointingly, it seems like Frankie's parents and Draculaura's mom won't be there this season :(
Tumblr media
Plus the little announcement card because I like it :P
That's all!
okay fine let's address the elephant in the room i've abandoned this blog BUT i needed to cope after singapore yall after a good two months of no contact with any media of my pookie danny and the subsequent exposure to THE maxiel paddel date (ft. temporarily adopted paddel prodigy??) i'm ready to be back on my bullshit
this time? angsty introspective danny and max comforting him, aka ao3 hasn't been hitting and im in crisis
if it sucks it's because i haven't written fanfic in ages (started uni and it kicked me in the teeth, the only reason i can justify spending time on this is because at this point it's a Coping Mechanism™)
also i know the whole part things is a pain in the ass but tumblr wont let me write posts as long as i want them to idk i hate technology i was born in the wrong century (id rather die of the black death at 20 than have to deal with hyperlinks again thanks for asking)
Hey, for the record, while I'm over here like foaming at the mouth over Idyia and Rubra-Harenas, I don't actually think that STATISTICALLY they're the only ones like this in the whole world of Sauria.
We might not get to see it in canon- because holy fuck animation and story telling takes so much time and if background info doesn't matter too much to the stories and characters you want to tell then you're not going to put it in- but I'd totally buy there's other stories like theirs out there in Sauria. I mean like, Blue Song members who got stranded on the mainland back before the invasion and ended up making new lives there and now don't agree with the rest of the empire and feel more at home with the other Saurian races. More civilian type members of the Kindred of the Tusk who care for the injured or young and aren't meant for constant combat and have positive connections with other Saurians outside of the Kindred. Pachi-Saurians who aren't just farmers or are even sort of working their way up the Blue Song's social ranks as merchants or other fields of expertise. An Arctic Saurian who-while of course cautious and will defend themselves- opens their doors to lost travelers and is more social than the norm. Blue Song soldiers who became disillusioned with the empire (for many, many reasons but I could especially see ones who quickly realize that 1. Avi-Saurians just aren't physically as strong as the other races and can't take the same amount of damage so they've watched too many of their fellows die and 2. if the Chancellor really wanted to tame the land then why aren't they more willing to compromise and just TALK to the people already here who have managed to sort of do so?), and deserted, becoming farmers themselves or helping the more civilian members of the Tusk or becoming hunters and gathers as well. Non-military and or lower to middle class Blue Song not being very pleased with the monarchy ditching their duties to the people left back on the island to go skipping off to the more exciting main land.
Yeah, the only group I could see not being part of the mixing and not-black-and-white social world of Sauria is the Fell and that's mostly because of their feral nature. (Even then, the idea of a Fell who gets entertainment out of just observing the rest of Sauria at a distance makes me happy. They're still a Fell and more evil than anything but they're just observing and studying others and I like that.)
I think I'm just really excited and am having so much fun kicking around and sharing ideas for Idyia and Rubra-Harenas in particular is because they're more mobile characters, actually traveling throughout Sauria and getting to experience the world through them. (Also, I just like their personalities and character traits.) But I really don't think their story and circumstances are THAT unique in world. Just not entirely the norm, you know?
Oh no I have a slightly new theory that is TECHNICALLY related to the one I made last night??
For starters, Agent 18 straight-up called the Eggs Bio Capsules
And that's a pretty terrifying implication
Because when I hear that, I think of something that is meant to be opened eventually to retrieve what's inside
Which is making me think the Eggs might be incubators of some sort, that the Islanders are helping to nurture so that whatever's inside those Eggs gets developed as much as possible
And now I'm really wondering WHAT IS IN THE EGGS???
Because I know what I said yesterday, but I think we're all pretty certain about these not being Dragon Eggs at this point
And I said something about the Eggs hatching tomorrow, but what if that's not QUITE what happens?
What if they're broken open to get whatever's inside them?
What would be inside of them?
(And now, time to actually start analyzing the fact that the Federation called them EGGs instead of Eggs, and trying to figure out what that would mean if it were an acronym)
((Also does this have to do with the Crucifixion by any chance? Because Foolish asked 18 about that, and he just told him super casually it was nothing to worry about and it would all be fine. If it's the Eggs being crucified and not the Islanders Foolish, his calm demeanor would make sense because he's basically proven he doesn't actually give a damn about the Eggs in any way whatsoever. It's either that or he has a plan to save Foolish and Foolish alone))
Would love to hear about this degendering theory for the maidenvault sisters?
the term might not be right but it's a little like this: daena, rhaena and elaena escaped their gender, the thing they were guilty of after leaving the maidenvault.
the sisters in the maidenvault were explicitly locked up for being girls and for their potential temptation of baelor the blessed. this a very gendered punishment (look how elaena cuts her long hair, a sign of her potential womanhood) that ties both into their status as unattached maidens and as sisters of the king. note that 1) naerys was not locked up because she was married, she was a matron with a son and thus unavailable to baelor for being claimed by another man; and 2) non targaryen girls weren't locked up either, they just served as temporary companion to the sisters.
so ten years passes and they are freed after baelor's death.i'm not going to get into the psychological implications of spending formative years locked up for being a woman with only your sisters as company but i am interested in how each one dealt with this, how they escaped their """crime""".
daena. most obvious of all. she's the oldest and boldest of the three. in the books this part of the story revolves around her exploits and her ultimate purpose within the story: birthing daemon blackfyre. she's said to escape the maidenvault alongside her cousin aegon to meet men and drink in taverns, she probably did races as well and caused mayhem as a way to free herself from the oppression she lives at home. during this time she eventually falls pregnant and has a bastard, a direct parallel to what aegon was doing around this time too.
we all know how it goes yadda yadda baelor fasts and kills himself (or not...) and after this it's very probably daena continues with even more excess now that she's free and was never chosen as the next queen. daena acts just like any second son noble born without responsibilities (like aegon!!!), mothering bastards (grrm saying she was a "stepmother of sorts" to bittersteel...), drinking, going to town and generally being very debauched. compare how naerys spends her time in the story! daena has put herself outside of the woman, princess, lady role. none of the usual rules apply to her at all, she can't ever be locked up again by her gender.
this is why my speculation that she died in some mishap riding or hunting fits very well with what her life was like after the vault. just like viserra trying to escape a marriage, daena could've died doing a typical male-dominated hobby or activity (i unfortunately don't discard dying in childbirth due to how common it is in targ women).
rhaena, though we don't know much of her, we know that she was the most pious one of the sisters and "never chafed" at the captivity due to her being more meek, ladylike and kind. it isn't said if she had aspirations of becoming a septa before their imprisonment but that she followed through it's incredible interesting for me. she fully escaped court and any role as a lady, mother and wife she could've had if she had stayed available. it's like she removed herself completely, like daena, from another maidenvault situation.
of course, a motherhouse is just as restrictive if we liken it to a real world convent but we can't ignore that as a septa she's just another servant to the seven gods and has much more freedom than any other lady of the court (think naerys and her constant motif of escaping her role of wife, sister and mother by becoming a septa), which is ultimately, what they are all looking for.
elaena, at last, embodies perhaps the most successful of these attempts. she was the youngest one of the three but the cutting of her hair shows a real clarity in the situation they were going to put in, this same clarity is what separated her from her peers in later years. she begins as the little sister following into daena's footsteps by having children outside of marriage, again, a typical male-dominated occupation, and then she's married off to lord plumm.
i think elaena was the most practical one out of her sisters (she was like aunt rhaena in this way #ToMe). she understood it was better to follow along with what was being presented to her after the maidenvault and specially after having two children with someone who wasn't going to marry her. better this than what i had before, better this than being adrift. nonetheless with her subsequent marriages she takes a decidedly masculine position by being in all but name, the master of coin. another thing i find particularly interesting about elaena's story is that she has a third marriage (practically unheard of in asoiaf female characters), that she personally chooses in a younger man without obvious ambition and with what we could say mere ornamental (and sexual) purpose for the well established and older elaena, AND the narrative allows her to very probably die of old age (something very very few targ woman are allowed to do).
ultimately, this is no more a theory than a different way to view the sister's story post maidenvault post baelor in a way i think sheds some light in the gendered punishment they suffered and the fascinating way they escaped it. thanks for the question!
javier realizing how much he cares for lloyd, how deep his loyalty to him runs, how ready he's to lie down his life for him, not because he's the son of his lord, not even really knowing exactly why he feels like that but just being absolutely certain that lloyd is his friend and he can't allow anything to harm him
And yet, why am I trying so hard to protect him? He had no way of knowing. But one thing was clear. It was a very simple matter. I want to protect him. Lloyd is my true master in my heart. Lloyd was his friend. And now, Javier wanted to protect Lloyd. He would sincerely protect him with everything he had.
he doesn't even know why!! he just knows that lloyd is his friend and his true master in his heart and that's!! more than enough for him to decide he's willing to put his life and everything he has in the line to protect him!! i'm just!!
Leon Belmont would be the Great Uncle Ford to Mathias/Dracula's Grunkle Stan if those two had been given the opportunity to raise their families together at the same time.
-------
Leon: "Now remember kids, we must always follow the rules and strive to create good in the world. Listen to your elders, and wield your weapons with honor."
Mathias/Dracula: "Gather round everyone, today I shall be coaching you on the finer points of tax evasion and offensive alchemy. If you ever hear someone else say something that sounds wrong, then it probably is, so do be sure to correct them. Best case scenario, they're so mad about being corrected that they become sloppy and create an opening for you to strike them down."
hooooolyyyyyyyy fuck. todays entries were SO beautifully done.
hearing draculas voice again after so long was so distressing, but at the same time so exciting. everyone is going to be in the same place in only two days. i cannot even put into words how highly im anticipating the entries on the twentieth omg.
there were two specific spots where the music really dug into me--when seward and van helsing get to lucys room and seward says "how shall I describe what we saw?" that whole paragraph the music was so well fitting. and then the music when we get THE quincey morris himself had me ascending. wow.
it's so heartbreaking to hear minas concerns about jonathan only for her to apologize to lucy and hope she isnt spoiling such happy moments for her :( mina i have such bad news for you :((((
im so glad i got to take forty whole minutes out of my afternoon for this, SUCH a great job as always.
