Today's polish is something completely different for me! This polish is a really sheer grey with a pretty orange to yellow shimmer. It was sheer enough that I knew I'd need a nail line blurring base coat so I used one the same color as my skin tone. But the polish was so sheer it ended up looking beige instead of grey. 😂 It's nice, but not quite my thing. This is A Death-Promise from Bee's Knees Lacquer.

I don't know if Mashima sensei will ever make FT next generation or show the character's children and their adventures but the slight implication of Earthland's Greige and Nasha's ship in the future and the fact that Natsu and Gray may become in-laws someday is just so funny.

I mean they already act like this, even without their children.

So imagine all the chaos, protests, fighting, and denial that would ensue. Juvia would be over the moon poor Lucy has to rationally calm the situation (with Erza of course 😂). Natsu will probably threaten Greige like a protective papa and Gray will just punch him for scaring his child.

The fact is, we’ll never really know the truth to this, and even if there was evidence documented in diaries, it will unlikely ever see the light of day!

What we do know is that Elizabeth had two difficult pregnancies, both resulting in Caesarians, and which were performed under much more dangerous circumstances for both mother & baby back then. Forms of birth control were also, at best, incredibly unreliable and uncomfortable! So with this in mind it might have been that it was too risky to have sex (simply for pleasure!) regularly, and that once their family of ‘Us Four’ was complete, her focus was on helping raise the princesses, being incredibly busy with royal duties, and of course, the later additional strain that came with supporting Bertie in his kingship as George VI. They were also both very religious, and attitudes to sexual behaviour might have additionally been influenced by their faith and Elizabeth’s own aristocratic upbringing.

There is an account from a letter written to Bertie’s friend (& later courtier) Louis Greig: ‘Everything was plain sailing, which was a relief,’ Bertie wrote. ‘You know what I mean. I truly believe that The Queen Mother and Bertie absolutely adored each other; and that in loving (and emotionally trusting) someone so much, there was therefore no reason why there wouldn’t be physical intimacy on some level throughout their life together.

OH MY GOD I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ASK

i have been ITCHING to have some constructive conversations about makeup that are not so much about consumption as they are about techniques, artistry and just the joy of bringing different aesthetics to life. but unfortunately none of my girlfriends are into it to the level i am. i'm obsessed!!!! to anyone reading this, don't use me as a role model, but this is where i'm at LOL 😂 it truly is a hobby for me

What are your favorite brands?

in the past i wouldn't have said i had a favourite brand per se, but i've been converted to being a mac girl! as a result of them not really promoting themselves in online spaces i was not exposed to their products and they kind of flew under the radar, even though we do have mac stores here (quite a few, actually). also the price point lol so i much preferred to buy drugstore when i was younger. but, at this point, i have so much stuff already that i am planning to not buy as much in the future and just purchase one or two mac products every couple of months, because they have so many things!

for example, i love love love how all the mac girls combine their lipsticks and liners and honestly the idea of using a cool-toned lip liner or a contrasting shade for definition has been such a game changer in a world where so many makeup-wearers have taken to maintaining this uniform, dull look (sorry zoomers but clean girl makeup is just not that girl she will never be that girl!!). i also love the limited edition lipsticks they brought back for the 40-year anniversary and literally scoured every website & phoned every mac store in town to get my hands on bubbles, haku and fleshpot ☠️they are such unusual shades, like, first of all, i have to say that i love how the really nude fleshpot looks against a dark liner. it's soooo ~alternative and a fun way to reference the 90s. bubbles & haku are so colour-shifting in the light as well, i just keep staring at them sometimes :)) they are definitely not the type of colours i would usually wear and i'm not the biggest fan of frosts either. but you know what? looking back, this y2k trend did, in fact, slay

i also managed to snag the stone lip liner, which is always out of stock, as you know. they are releasing new ones at the end of the month and i have my eyes on 'greige' as an additional cool-toned liner (these are SO hard to find). to top off my collection, i managed to find the makeup forever liners in endless cacao and even whatever black (and, of course) our dependable drugstore girlfriend rimmel cappuccino.

but, to come back to the question of brands, i've always felt that maybelline are such an accessible source of good quality lipsticks on the cheaper side. their lip crayons are legit one of my favourites of all time. so lightweight on the lips and so easy to apply. the shade 'lead the way' is the best possible charlotte tillbury pillow talk dupe. the superstay vinyl ink liquid lipsticks are also quite good. the superstay MATTE inks will /not/ budge and probably survive the apocalypse if that's your thing. they have a wide selection of everything you might want, but i feel like the lips is where they are truly excellent

other brands from which i've purchased a lot are essence/catrice. similarly, they have a wide range of products of decent quality that you buy at a lower price point. i don't know about their foundations or powders, but i've bought lip liners, lipsticks, nail polishes, highlighters, blushes and they've all been more than fine

i should mention nyx here as well, as they often have cool stuff that goes viral. VERY good source of lip liners. the fixing spray is also very good. would not buy eyeshadow from them though. i did once and it was very patchy and all the purples looked gray and you couldn't really tell the colours apart. as far as eye palettes are concerned, my collection is mainly from urban decay and colourpop

What product can you not live without?

oooooooffff many! 😂 but, if i was in an absolute hurry, i suppose i would have to say concealer. i have dark circles and if, i just had to put one thing on my face, i would have to be practical and choose that instead of something more unhinged. :)) i'm currently using a cream concealer and realised, at my big age, that, if you apply it with a special concealer brush, you can use way less product and get better coverage 🤦 this technique is also a lot more effective at covering any pimples. before this i was using the same sponge i use for foundation application and was always left wanting. ☠️

What are your everyday makeup go to's in terms of products you reach for and enjoy,

for someone who has a lot of stuff (mainly lipsticks, liners and eyeshadows, to be honest), i have a lot of staple products as well that i don't really mess with and keep repurchasing. it's simplified my life a lot because i don't have the energy to keep trying makeup in every single category :))

the COTY airspun loose face powder - there is a lot of product in one unit (35g) and, since i have oily skin, i go through a lot, but one box of this lasts me a few months, which is amazing. before this i was using the fenty loose powder, but it's a lot more expensive and has less product

the MAC extra dimension blush, shade 'into the pink'. i've had this for two years, used it constantly and just managed to hit a little bit of pan. it's life-changing. finally, i had found a cool-toned blush. perfect for everyday and you do not have to think too much when applying because the colour doesn't build up like crazy to make you look like you've been stung by a bee

the essence liquid ink eyeliner. this thing is so cheap, lasts forever and does not smudge. idek how many of them i've used up over the years

the essence lash princess in green. i'm so pretentious about mascara and could never find one that didn't clump. this one is the best i've tried so far.

the rimmel brow this way crayon in the shade 'blonde'. like with mascara, i NEVER liked my eyebrow pencils, the shades were always off somehow, darker than i needed. this is legit the only one that is the exact colour of my brows and fits seamlessly. i go through these constantly. recently, out of curiosity, i've purchased a similar-looking tube, the alverde brow stick in the shade 04 macchiato (for my DM girlies!) and it seems to be doing the same job. relieved to know i have a backup if rimmel ever discontinue theirs!

the urban decay matte fixing spray. this is a holy grail for a reason. it's getting increasingly more difficult to find in my country though. also, i will have to put this under the microscope bc lately it felt a bit powdery on my skin so it's either i didn't shake it enough, they changed the formula or my combination-oily ass face is acting up again

i use these every time i put makeup on, except the mac blush and the urban decay fixing spray, but even so, i use those two very often. they've become regulars in my routine, but they're not the most exciting products (except the mac blush. that is such a pretty shade). but, for fun, i'm very much a glitter and highlighter person 😂 i recently, finally, bought some of the kaleidos highlighters and they truly are incredible in the way they catch the light and how the colours shift when you move. so those are what i'd label the products i look forward to the most atm, along with haku, bubbles, fleshpot and stone

which products do you hate?

so, no matter how much i try, i just cannot get along with lipgloss. unless i'm going to bed! then when i wake up it has done its magic and my lips are a little less dry and chapped 😂 but as a daytime product, it just gets everywhere, it's very sticky and smudgy and i don't like having to constantly check my lips in the mirror to fix it. just a major hassle overall. likewise with lipsticks that are too glossy and never stay in one place. lip oils? why.

i've also had the misfortune to purchase some foundations i really fucking hate and i have been painstakingly trying to finish them (i have a high chance of finishing two of them this autumn), as i don't really like to waste product. the MUP liquid waterproof foundation is way too thick and cakey and the shiseido revitalessence skin glow is way too liquid and patchy. formulation-wise, these products are the exact opposite but both of them turn me into an oil bath lol

i also don't like cream blushes, highlighters or bronzers. i have oily skin and have to set with powder, so it would be an extra hassle for me to make sure these products can still be seen after i apply the powder. i saw that some people set them with the powder versions of the same product, but that just sounds like extra steps to me and just an excuse to hoard even more products and complicate the routine even more

speaking of blushes and bronzers, cool-toned makeup is just so hard to find in general, everything is orange and peach these days. i have been really contemplating some products i've accumulated mindlessly over the years and i'm going to have to declutter a lot of my blushes and bronzers because they just make me look crazy. they are either way too orange or dark or hyper pigmented. i am very pale and do not tan so i really much prefer either just straight up taupe or pinkish blushes. here i really have to recommend c-, j- or k-beauty because there you can find these tones exactly and i can finally wear some flattering shades 😂

and, i have to say, erin parsons and not_another_hanna on TT, who like wearing cool-toned makeup on the regular, are absolute queens and have such a distinctive, stand-out style. you can tell they don't really care about looking conventional and really appreciate the artistry of playing with colours and formulas in interesting ways

Ooh good question!

John having a massive sweet tooth is one I've touched on a couple of times. The blue slushie thing just made me laugh and I'm sticking to it religiously now. I reckon he's a huge impulse buyer when it comes to weird foods.

One I've literally just included in my current WIP chapter (because he mentioned it in an interview) is that he reads a lot. He's much smarter than people would give him credit for while he's parading around in jean shorts and baseball caps, while people like Cody are playing games on their PSPs and DS', John's in his locker room reading Tolstoy 😂

He doesn't decorate his house like a sad millennial, no greige for him! Colours! Even if they have to be light because Florida house... (idk I need to brave some Total Divas to see his house properly, but I got the sense he was more of a decorator than sad beige!)

Did you like The Batman? What's your opinion about the movie?

Short context: i'm not that fond of super hero movie.

Long context: I usually don't go see super hero movies because I'm not interested by them. I went to see The Batman for Rob and because, having been introduced to Greig Fraser work with Dune, I was curious. So I said why not.

To be fair, I think I couldn't recognize a good example of the genre even if it was dancing in front of my face. I guess the main goal is to be entertaining and I'm usually not that much entertained watching them. But it doesn't mean they're all bad, it just means I'm too far away from being in the target audience. Or even in a potential audience.

The Batman is no exception. I don't think it's bad, I was just like ok. The decors were beautiful. I think it's my favorite thing about the movie. The movie is pretty. I guess my expectations were slightly higher but it's still pretty. There are a few shots that I really liked tho (like the thing with the machine guns at some point. Not sure I can say more about the scene 😂).

I still think Robert is too talented for the role. I like what he's trying to do with the character but I'm not sure they'll give him enough room to do what he would brilliantly do. Or if the character can allow it. Because of the large audience, because it's Batman, etc. I'd like to be proven wrong if they do sequels with him. I'd like to see him going deeper in the darkness, more twisted, adding as many layers as he'd like. I'd like them to use more of his face but again not sure it'll ever happen in ways I like.

I also think 3 hours is too much to ask of people. If you're going to take 180 minutes of people's life for a movie, you better be pretty damn sure of every single of them and, well.

So yeah. I guess if you like the genre, it's probably a good one. If you usually very fond of it, I'd say it's not different enough to make you change your mind?

Magic: Fire Dragon slayer and Celestial Requip Mage (also known as Swiper for her ability to teleport zodiac weapons straight out of the hands of the zodiacs)

Age: 22 years She's overall the friendliest and most confident person you'll meet. Sometimes a little too stubborn for her own good though. She'd walk through hell and back for her friends, but is hesitant to ask for help, because she feels she is a burden, as untrue as it is. She loves reading like her mom, and missions involving patterns, spells and puzzles are her favorite kind.

Storm Ur Fullbuster

Parents: Gray Fullbuster, Juvia Lockser

Magic: Ice Mage, Weather Manipulation Mage

Age: 22 years He's almost as reckless as Nashi but at the same time, he's as calm as they come (which is more than what he can say about his siblings) and has the world's worst sweet tooth. He plays the guitar like his dad (only infinitely better).

Magic: Iron Dragon Slayer

Age: 23 years She's the crazy one of the group and is always on the lookout for chaos. She and Nashi together make up FT's Demolition Duo, with the record of most number of buildings destroyed in their pocket. She's the shortest Faerie (damn her brother for abandoning her!) and can kick butt and take ass like no other. She is ridiculously good at playing the drums.

Parents: Jellal Fernandes, Erza Scarlet

Magic: Requip Mage

Age: 22 years He's the most responsible (and daresay, terrifying) Faerie. He loves training with his friends and has a big heart. He doesn't break rules persay, but a loophole or two never hurt anyway, although most of the time he's forced to string along on the gang's crazy shenanigans to check on them. He is a bear-hugger (and spine-cracker) and is sometimes very oblivious to the things right in front of him.

Kai Makarov Dreyar

Parents: Laxus Dreyar, Mirajane Strauss

Magic: Take Over Mage

Age: 24 years He is S-class but seldom found in the guild as he prefers being alone in his apartment (if only, but unfortunately Genesis and her exceed Frankie seem to consider it their second home) He is very protective of his guild and even in long absences, somehow knows everything that has transpired in the guild and with his friends (Gen is to blame) He takes S-class missions with Gale and Gen sometimes.

Nova Mavis Dreyar

Parents: Laxus Dreyar, Mirajane Strauss

Magic: Lightning Dragon Slayer

Age: 22 years She works part-time at the guild bar with Asuka after she turned 18. Loves scrapbooking, bopping to music and matchmaking. Sweetest of all the Faeries like her mom, always manages to get dragged into Gen and Nashi's crazy schemes (more than often, she's the ring leader but shh, nobody has to know...) Her hair frizzes up whenever she's upset (perks of being a lightning slayer, ugh.)

Yes! Jackies outfit is actually described as being “greige” (a mix of grey and beige) and was purposefully chosen to stand out against the dark thick fur coats the other women and the black jackets/coats the men were wearing that day. Also worth noting that tv was still black and white back then so the dark vs light contrast made her outfit stand out. You can see the color on the JFK library website.

Note: the colorised version of his inauguration was edited when Color tv was more prominent in American homes after his death.

Melania and Ivanka also took their fashion cues from the BRF. Melania tried to do a modern version of Diana, when they were here for their state visit and she wore the white and blue outfit her designer actually stated Diana was the inspiration for the look.

Ivanka modelled herself on Kate - which you can see if you look back photos through the ‘20 campaign - choosing a lot of the same silhouette in different colours. She also wore a lot of Beulah and Suzannah which are kinda niche British brands I wouldn’t have thought a very wealthy American woman who typically wore brands like givenchy, McQueen and dior everyday would know of those brands, let alone wear frequently.

I could go on but don’t feel this is the right blog to moan about American fashion experts calling Melania wearing coats “coatdresses” when in fact they were thick coats being worn as coatdresses. 😂

Yes! All of this! Ivanka actually wore the exact same Beulah dress (olive green yahvi dress) that Kate had worn before. The interesting thing about the first family's fashion and royals fashion is that they are both political. Kate's fashion during the Pakistan tour in 2019 is a perfect example of that. How do you feel that Greige possibly only exists because of you?

Like I’m his real mom lol 😂 for real it’s an honor the character mashima-sensei drew for me is now canon (someway) in the manga 💪🏻 I didn’t design him, mashima-sensei did. So that’s why he has full rights to use him! I didn’t make him put Greige in the manga, that was mashima-sensei’s own choice. :)

Omid the expert described it as “greige.” Maybe she thought it would go well with her orange skin. I’m surprised that we didn’t see her sweating orange streaks in that hot coat. She simply has no ability to get anything right! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Eug had on short sleeves! Honestly, all the ladies were all over the place with their choices. I don't think there was any color scheme other than a nod to HMTQ's love of wearing bright colors to be seen more easily.

It was a wool coatdress...with lining. She must have been insanely hot in that thing.
