I carry a shovel on my shoulder just in case I need to bury some more parts of myself I've left offerings all over this state From the small town I hate but keeping coming back to To the giant city where I almost died on a daily basis to that place with rocky shores and cold water where I walked on nights alone

There's only so much of my mind I can put into this

They find me digging for no reason just a hole in the field and I don't have the guts to tell them I'm just digging my own grave bury me in black burn me in white

Someday I'll run out of these little bits and I'll fill that grave with the body of another man A man I have yet to become A man I've yet to know

Unless today's the day I get hit by a drunk driver or shot in the crossfire or the undetected cancer makes it to my brain aneurysm beautiful

Someday's I hope and someday's I fear but death is coming, so get with it I have new existential crisis's every time I begin to tap my keys when I follow my brain to it's weird news

For now, I carry my shovel and hide pieces of me in flowerbeds buried underneath rose bushes and garden gnomes

tessa choosing to have mina despite knowing how the story would end for them, despite having been unable to stick around and witness that ending the first time around, has always felt to me like this insane act of bravery, and almost recklessness, on tessa's part. but i was thinking about it and like.. i wonder if it will actually be a bit easier this time around simply because magnus will likely be going through the same thing at a similar time. like he was there for her the first time but.. idk this time they'll get to really be there for each other.
