finally finished dmmd!! took me like 15 hours but we got there
general thoughts— had way more plot and world building than i expected, thought itd be just pay gorn to be completely honest
fuck mink i skipped thru half his story
did NOT care for koujaku. dont get why ppl like him so much i mean he literally rapes aoba(i dont care that he was in berserk mode or whatever)
ig from the main routes i liked clear(we do NOT talk abt the bad ending) and noiz the most but cant praise them either i honestly didnt feel attached to ANY of these LIs
also fun fact since i brought up clears bad ending…. it was the very first ending i got.. so a very nice first impression indeed!
i liked the twins, virus and trip(ik they arent twins but its easuer to js call them that) in the very beginning, tho i did get a weird vibe from them bc twins ALWAYSSS end up being shady in japanese media! so the ending was no surprise
i think ren and aoba definitely do have the cutest good ending and make the most sense but its crazy how they got selfcest(bc ren used to be a part of aoba), incest(bc he came back to life in sei’s body…) and zoophilia(bc he was a dog for years and still has dog mannerisms (tho i dont think that its zoophilia at all its just fun to joke abt)) all in a single LI like damn were they checking off boxes???😭
first thoughts were “yaoi jesus here i come” and final thoughts were “omg fucking finally im done with this game‼️‼️”
overall it was nowhere near as enjoyable as i thought it would be ngl but it was still plenty fun AND its ok bc aoba is an icon and i think everyone who knows what the word yaoi means should definitely play this game. its a monument of queer history!!/hj

Toboe [ Wolf's Rain ]
Tumblr media
{ Info } ☾ { Roleplay with me } ☾ { Ask this character } ☾ { Tag } ☾ { Guidelines }
Name: Toboe Canon: Wolf's Rain (anime) Canon Point: End of the anime Age: 2 (as a wolf), 14 (with human illusion) Species: Alchemy Wolf
Personality:
Toboe is a very young wolf and often acts like a puppy rather than an adult. Toboe was raised as a pet by "Granny" and for that reason, he lacks the ability to survive alone. She taught Toboe humans kindness. She taught him to love and trust, to protect and care.
However, after she passed away, Toboe felt like he had failed her; failed to protect her and make sure she would always be okay. That's the biggest reason why Toboe always tries to protect the people he meets during his journey. He wants to protect them because he wasn't able to protect his owner, and he wants to make up for it.
Without her, Toboe felt lonely. He did have his pack and was happy with them; he also seemed to want to have Quent as his owner. But in truth, that was never Toboe’s paradise: his Granny was. She is the one that filled his heart with kindness and love, and she is the one who shaped him the most.
Toboe maintains affection for humans that none of the other wolves understands, enough to save Quent despite the fact that Quent tried to kill him several times; he has also shown the desire to stay with humans, not only because he felt like he was no good for the rest of the group, but also because he loves harmony between humans and animals.
He is social and depends on others a lot and follows those who show kindness. Because of his young age, Toboe tends to get attached to people easily and often comes back to people who might betray him. He forgave Quent, Hige and even Leara.
When close to those he likes, Toboe is much more outgoing than when he's alone - he talks back, pouts and plays; when he is alone, he becomes a bit shy and a bit awkward. While, it’s easy to see how much insecurity there is under the pup’s fur, when he's with his pack, Toboe seems to grow, trying to be independent, strong, and capable.
He can be reckless too and doesn't seem to measure his own strength. He realizes he is very young and doubts himself and his own abilities, often feeling like he can't measure up to the rest of the pack. But Toboe is stubborn. When he's faced with his own incompetence and weakness, he’ll try to overcome that so his pack can rely on him too.
Toboe is actually strong and he can survive, and the journey showed him that. His soft heart doesn't help but on the other hand, that can change if it's necessary. He is fiercely loyal and willing to put his people first.
The red wolf is patient and sweet. He has a high tolerance for everything and he’s also very forgiving. However, he is protective, so if someone attacks his pack and friends, he will not forgive or forget. He is a real guard dog, in many aspects, and he is loyal towards those who deserve his loyalty.
Toboe’s main role is to soften the pack's aggression when times of tension arise and he is usually the bridge that will allow the other three to become closer with time; the bonds grow stronger because Toboe seems to be set on making everyone get along no matter what. He eventually understood that role as well and accepted it and realized he was needed.
But it's not only towards his pack. He does the same to humans: Toboe wants everyone together, no matter whom, and will try his best to do that, no matter if they are wolves or if they are humans.
Above all, he is the most positive wolf from the pack. He is always very giddy and excited about it and seems to love the idea of being with others, even if the journey is hard. Because he is young, he doesn’t hide his feelings. He doesn't hide his sadness or his insecurities, his happiness and his pride. Not only can't hide his emotions, Toboe can't lie very well, nor keep secrets since he never had any need to. His trust in others also helps this, of course.
Above all, he is the most positive wolf from the pack. He is naïve and innocent, but also loyal and so strong. But not strong enough to overcome his need to protect others, which culminated in his death.
Alchemy wolves:
Those who have seen the anime know it's very difficult to explain Toboe's "Illusion" ability. There is no actual explanation as to how they do this and in an attempt to make things easier for RP, I (the player) am picking specific things that may not be 100% canon. Even if he looks like a human, Toboe is a wolf and his kind is capable of creating illusions on themselves so they appear human to most people. Those who are good at supernatural or have high psychic perception abilities (or just drunks) will be able to see through it either completely or for a brief second before it returns to the illusion. Animals will also be able to see through the disguise, but for rp purposes, I’ve decided that, even if they can easily identify Toboe as a wolf, they can still see his human form. Toboe’s human image seems to be a projection of himself and is connected to the wolf part, allowing people who try to hurt him while he is standing to actually hit him. This also means this image is a shadow, but Toboe will still leave physical evidence of his wolf-self behind: smell, pawprints, and even falling fur. The human illusion has clothes. It’s shown that the clothes may come off when necessary, simply disappearing and reappearing; these clothes "exist" as long they are touching Toboe: if the pup decides to take off his shirt and drop it to the floor, it will disappear, but still, he does need to take it off. Same as picking up an illusionary shirt that will show up in his hand, and then he’ll need to redress. It’s necessary to mention that the clothes may get ripped to match the wounds inflicted on them. As the wounds heal, the marks on the clothes will disappear until it has faded and healed completely. As for touching, if Toboe were to touch someone, such as attacking, he may leave claw and bite marks behind because that's what he'd use as well. Strangely, Wolves are also able to pick someone up in their arms, carry things, and yet again with the little explanation we have, I am going to state that this illusion may feel physical at times and if someone were to touch Toboe, he'd feel like a human. That means Toboe can do anything that a regular human can do with his illusion. I need to add that he can also read, obviously. Something good about Wolf’s Rain is that they kept wolves talking with their mouths closed. It is true a big deal of his hand actions are from the wolf's mouth. However, by not having to actually move their mouth while they speak, this allows Toboe may speak while he is carrying someone, for example. You could say the form of communication is kind of like a one-way telepathy. Ah, did I forget to mention that they also cry? Yes, they do shed tears in their human form, but not in wolf. Still, you'll feel wet if you touch his tears, though, as an illusion, they'll disappear. You can actually admit this human illusion is physical, then. And therefore he is allowed to do pretty much what any human can, with his hands, feet and body, from holding things to typing or even writing by hand. He'd probably be able to hold any other human object and actually use it even. But this requires some concentration. Sometimes, the wolf bleeds through the illusion, fangs are seen, or flashes of the wolf are obvious.
These wolves are deeply connected to Paradise and to the world; it is said that humans were born from wolves. Paradise, on the other hand, is a new reborn world which will open when the current world reached its end, and wolves are the ones who will open Paradise and thus bring forth this event. This means Toboe, as an "alchemy wolf" is actually close to a "messenger of Great God Mother Earth"; his blood CAN open Paradise and having wolf blood spilt is actually seen as an unfortunate thing and nature around seems to react negatively to that. Naturally, he can't open Paradise in Folkmore (and Paradise is only open if the world is dying, anyway), but nature will still not really seem to respond positively to wolf blood being spilt which would make the environment feel wrong (but that's about it!). It'd also mean characters who can detect spiritual beings to be able to tell that Toboe is a sort of godly spirit, in a way. He will not understand what ANY of that means, however, because all of this is instinct and not really something wolves know about.
Other abilities:
Toboe is a wolf, thus he has all the skills a canine would have. These skills would all be enhanced due to Toboe's canon abilities He also knows about plants and their properties, supposedly he learned by watching his owner. He's especially doted in earing
History:
"The world has been destroyed and we've fallen countless times, always resurrecting from the ashes as Paradise. It has happened before, and it will happen again. An endless cycle of life and death. The world is a Paradise that was opened by someone, but this era too is almost at an end. We have acquired the means to exceed our natural span of life, never suspecting that the world itself was finalized in its existence. As if to be purified, the world will be encased in ice so that it can return to the beginning once more. Paradise is a world that is opened by someone..."
To understand all of Wolf’s Rain background, we need to start from the very beginning, way before the series starts. Long before the world was what it is, people put civilization into full bloom using an extraordinary alchemy that would open doorways to the stars and even the gateways of time and space. But it all disappeared in a second. It's unknown what happened but most of the people disappeared, and the remaining mysteries of alchemy came to be possessed solely by three noble families (Darcia, Jagara and Oakum), while the rest of the people were left in the dark. This happened 200 years ago, when wolves became extinct. Using this alchemy, Darcia Family created the Lunar Flowers and Flowermen, the guides to Paradise, at a resort city called Aerial. But only one flowerman was perfect, only one wasn’t a failure, Cheza; she was a crystal of alchemy, called the Flower's maiden that was born from the Lunar Flower and would show the path to Paradise. Along with all of Darcia’s research, a forbidden book was written by the Noble Darcia the first; it was the beginning of Darcia Clan, with a collection of the most advanced alchemy at the time. All of it had the objective to reach Paradise, by creating a Lunar Flower with human form, which would show them how to get to that wanted place. The book also mentioned the Legend of the red moon, told by tribes that existed long before alchemy appeared:
"Long ago, when the world was still young, when man was still an animal, there were also evil monsters. And so, the Great God Mother Earth sent wolves from Paradise to the land as his messengers. The wolves slew the monsters, fought evil and taught many things to animal-man. And from part of their own bodies, wolves gave birth to mankind. But man stopped learning from the wolves. Man started to create their own version of humanity and the land started to hurt. When the world is ending, the moon will turn red and die, and the wolves will once again go back to Paradise."
The wolves are, then, the only ones who can open the doorways to Paradise, guided by the Lunar Flower(s). Darcia I was lost, though. 200 years ago (matching to the disappearance of the rest of the alchemy and the extinction of the wolves, though if these two matters are related is never told. Most likely it IS) Darcia opened Paradise – NOT a fake one - and he disappeared into that mysterious place. This caused many alterations to the world, but above all, it cursed Darcia Family; only wolves can enter Paradise and Darcia was NOT a wolf. For that reason, Darcia Family became plagued by a curse; the eye of a wolf. Darcia III, the grandson of the lost Darcia, did not wish to do anything about his grandfather's research, but one day a disease appeared and it took his lover, Hamona. It was called the Paradise disease in which her soul was "taken by Paradise" being forever bound to that place, while her body fell into a coma in the real world. For this reason, Darcia had no other choice but to direct all of his energy trying to find a way to open paradise and bring Hamona back. Years later after her creation, Cheza was stolen by the Oakum Clan and given to a laboratory in Freeze city; Cheza was studied by Cher who will be important later one. However there was no actual information since it remained all within Darcia's castles and thus Lord Oakum was never close to open Paradise for himself, like he wanted to. Jagara Clan also made its move; Noble Jagara chased wolves all around the world in order to steal their blood and tried to open Paradise as well on her own (though all of them try to open paradise, Kiba does mention it's but a fake; only wolves can open it and only wolves can enter it; the nobles, though, don't seem to believe that). As Cheza remained in Freeze City, all attention turned to her and most wolves flocked around the cit; many died thanks to Jagara's, and others simply lost hope and themselves. Others stood there for no actual reason. Enter Toboe.
Not much is told us about Toboe’s past, but seeing he is so young, there might not even be much to it either way. Toboe was found by “Granny”, a nice old lady that also had four bracelets on her left wrist. It’s not known how he got to the Freeze City, but seeing he was such a young baby when granny found him, most likely Toboe's mother that came to the city looking for the scent of the Flower’s Maiden, Cheza, and died before she reached Cheza.
Granny took care of Toboe, raising him as a dog, which explains his friendliness and love towards humans as wel,l as his need to be near one. Unfortunately, in an act of unrestrained playfulness when she was feeding him, Toboe jumped on the old woman and ended up suffocating her. Toboe soon found out he was, for the first time ever, alone; it was hard on him since he was a "dog", and Toboe did not know how to hunt nor he had ability to survive alone. For this reason he was constantly attacked by crows and even cats, which he came to hate.
The anime starts with the four wolves that would form the strange pack in search for Paradise: Kiba, Tsume, Hige and Toboe. Toboe is shown as a young wolf, lacking any survival ability, being bullied by cats and crows as he looked for food inside the trash cans. Alone, he appeared to have the strong desire to become a pet again, and his target was a young girl named Leara, who had offered him food before. During this, he also met another wolf, Tsume, but before both could get to know each other (not that Tsume wanted to), other characters showed up: an old man named Quent along with his dog Blue, who chased wolves because he believed they were the responsible for the death of his family. Tsume ended up saving Toboe from them, but he still wasn't friendly with the younger wolf.
Possibly a day later, or even the same afternoon, hoping to impress Leara, Toboe ran after her bird and ended up killing it; sadden by this, his human illusion disappeared and he showed the girl his real form of an animal – once again he was saved by Tsume, who grabbed him and pulled him out of there before Leara started screaming.
That same night, several events happened that culminated with Cheza being taken by Darcia III; Kiba and Hige (also two wolves) came after Cheza and they eventually met Toboe and Tsume who had felt Cheza's presence as well. That was when the whole pack first mentioned the search for Paradise and the feeling they are born with, as well how the smell of the Lunar Flower allured them to that cold city in first place. They left together to search for the Guide to Paradise, Cheza, even if Tsume was quite reluctant about it.
During their journey, much happens. Tsume who always refused to believe Kiba’s words of Paradise, left the pack once and Toboe followed. Both would get attacked by a machine and saved by Kiba and Hige at the end. They also reached an old dirty city, where the faint smell of Lunar Flowers grew and they met a pack of wolves there, who had given up hope of finding that place all wolves are born desiring. All of this focus on building the relationship between all the wolves in the pack: Kiba as heir leader, and Toboe, Tsume (even if very reluctantly) and Hige, following his words of hope.
The most important time was when they finally reached Ariel City, where Darcia had brought Cheza. It was a mess, just like everything in the anime: Darcia was attacked by Lord Oakum’s troops, Quent and Blue who were following the trail of the foru wolves also show up, Cher was there too because he was with Oakum's troops and suddenly Cheza felt the four wolves and escaped Darcia right under his nose. She finally showed herself to the four wolves, who immediately felt a blinding attraction to her. After saving them from Darcia and Lord Oakum’s guards, as well as Quent and Blue, Cheza set her mind on showing the pack the path to Paradise, even if they never spoke it.
They were born with that feeling, just like Cheza was born with the desire to guide the wolves.
Unfortunately the journey was never easy.
During the next full moon night, Cheza finally showed them the path to paradise, by making Lunar flowers grow from the ground (it was literally a path of flowers). Excited, all the four finally accepted it was their destiny, even Tsume who always complained, but Darcia didn’t forget his original objective of retrieving Cheza, and he showed up after he got rid of his enemy’s troops. Again he took the Flower girl away (during this, while not directly related to the wolves, Lord Oakum was murdered by Jagara and she too attacked Darcia's castle and killed Hamona. Later on we learn Hamona was Jagara's twin sister and she was in love with Darcia).
As the four wolves tried to rest from the last attack, Blue – Quent’s dog who was actually half wolf – came to them in her human form. She met Cheza during her journey and the wolf inside her woke up and once she realized she was what Quent hated, Blue decided to leave her owner. All the five headed towards Darcia's Castle, after, in hopes to save Cheza. Regrettably during a snow blizzard, Toboe, Blue, Hige and Tsume decide to stay behind but their leader Kiba stubbornly refused to do so and went ahead. To Darcia's Castle, chasing after Cheza, came Jagara's troop and Cher, her ex-husband Hubb who wanted to know what the heck was happening, and also Quent who was looking for Blue and tagged along with Hubb. It was a Castle party.
The white wolf leader was indeed the first to arrive at Darcia’s castle and fought the Noble, but before blood was spilled, the rest of the pack arrived. Sadly, once again Cheza was capture, this time by Jagara; Blue stood with her this time (also captured by Jagara’s troops), and Kiba was no where to be found, reducing the pack from five to three wolves.
Unable to find Kiba, Hige, Tsume, and Toboe considered giving up the search for him and for Paradise, when Toboe found Quent lying half-frozen in the snow. Despite Tsume and Hige being against this, he decidef to stay behind to warm him up, in the promise he’d meet the two older wolves later on. After making sure Quent was alive and would warm up when the sun came out, Toboe went after his pack mates but was attacked by Iyek, a member of the Hmong Indian tribe. Hige and Tsume came to Toboe's aid, but eventually Iyek explained to them it was but a mistake to attack Toboe.
Hmong tribe considered wolves their friends (as well messengers of Earth Mother God, like the Ancient told explained them; this story is very related to the writings on the forbidden book written by Darcia the first, 200 years ago) and they were on edge because Jagara's troops have been attacking their tribe's dogs.
Toboe showed great interest in staying with humans because he considered such his Paradise. But when they found Kiba again, on the verge of death, the pup changed his mind and accepted following the pack with promising he wouldn’t whine anymore and he’d try to be strong for his pack mates. Yet, before leaving, he requested Iyek to go help Quent, who was left behind.
(A small note to make things understandable at this point is that Blue was able to break free from Jagara's troops, and soon she joins Cher who was still chasing after Cheza; both rush towards Jagara’s city by themselves, and Cheza and Cher’s ex-husband Hubb were still under capture and arrived the city sooner.)
The wolves’ current position was the “Ice Sea”, and like the name says, it was a sea of drift ice, where they come to find a huge graveyard; drawn by the smell of blood coming from Toboe’s arm – who refused to admit he got hurt, since he wanted to be strong and capable – suddenly a giant walrus breaked up through the ice and attacked the pack. Toboe froze at first due to fear and wasn't able to do much, but then something inside him grew (instincts!) and finally it snapped and he rushed in, biting the walrus in the eye and refusing to let go. The giant animal tried to release itself from Toboe, by running into icebergs or diving deep in the cold water, but Toboe didn’t let go until finally the walrus was too wondeed to continue and died. Toboe was the one to take the first bite, an honor for him since it meant that he made his first kill and was finally recognized as capable by the other three older wolves.
The pack reached Jagara’s city, but when trying to sneak inside, Tsume and Toboe ended up getting arrested by the Noble’s troops. Kiba was caught too and Hige was found out to actually belong to the Noble Jagara as a “spy”: he looked for wolves, joining their packs and his collar acted as a locater for the cruel woman to find the wolves. After finding Blue, he broke free of his collar and rushed towards the castle, leaving the female wolf behind who came to find her owner Quent in the city too (he followed the wolves).
Jagara’s plan was to use Kiba’s blood – seeing that he is the “chosen wolf” as she called him – and to open Paradise herself, so she and Darcia could live there forever together. Darcia himself was already there too, to fight her for having killed Hamona, and as Tsume and Toboe tried to get free from their cells, Hige saved them. Even if Tsume showed anger towards the older wolf for betraying them, Toboe actually showed forgiveness; he loved his pack mate and believed he was really trying to make up for his own mistakes.
Kiba finally broke free too, and the whole pack met at the grand room, where Jagara, Darcia, Cheza, Cher and Hubb were as well. During the fight, Hige got hurt, but Darcia ended up killing the Noble woman and that lead to the castle to start breaking down (probably because it was kept by Jagara's alchemy).
The wolves finally escape from there, along with Cheza, now setting out to find Paradise once again - but this time accompanied by Cher and Hubb (who go along by car); during their trip, they’d end up meeting Blue and Quent, who got run over by a car. The next scene shows us how much Toboe cares for Quent and is perhaps a bit envious of Blue because she had him as her owner; he also promised her he was going to protect old man with all of his will and unfortunately, this will be his downfall.
As they went on, the car Cher, Hubb and Quent drove in crashed into ice and Cher died (she was only the beginning), and after this Quent woke up and -even if hurt-, his hatred for the wolves was enough for him to stand up and stagger away. Worried, Toboe followed him in order to keep his promise to Blue and to tried to convince him to return back with him.
However Darcia showed up AGAIN, and after the noble declard them unfit to enter Paradise, Darcia and Quent open fire on each other… but Toboe leapy into the line of fire in order to protect the old wounded man. Quent shot Toboe in the back. After he realized what he did, Quent dropprf his gun and is shot by Darcia. The gravely-wounded Toboe staggered over to Quent, and the man petted Toboe as he realized that Toboe kept him warm when he was freezing.
The puppy died besides the man and the last thing he saw was his Paradise: his owner, Granny.

The LN Characters Heights
Ok so I had a couple people ask about my height chart for the LN characters and I wanted to share it. I tried to measure them with the models in game and using the official art as well (for the characters who are never seen standing straight like Roger or the Hunter for example) and,,,,,,,,, im kinda,,, omg.
A note before we go: I used Six and Mono as refs, but in the official wiki it says that they are only a few inches tall (so around 25 cm), but most of the monsters are described as "unnaturally tall" so I have two mesurements - the ones based on the kids being 25 cm tall and one with them being 70 cm (raincoat & paperbag included). ALSO PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS ISN'T PROBABLY ACCURATE!!! LIKE AT ALL. I did my best but it's completely possible I'm wrong. Also these are all approximated.
LETS GO
THE MAW
The Nomes = 15 cm/6 inches or 60 cm /1'9" feet.
Long hat included! They're tiny🥺
Roger = Around 122 cm/ 4' feet or 167 cm/ 5'6" feet.
This was the first surprise. Here I thought he was a shortie and now I find out he might be taller than me😭 like sir what🤨🤚
The Chefs = a bit taller than 110 cm/ 3'6" feet or 155 cm/ 5'1" feet.
HAHHAHAHAHHAHA PLSSS I could literally hold stuff over my head and they wouldn't be able to reach it,,,, this is so funny it'll never leave my mind. But really, it shouldn't have been such a surprise. Six is much bigger next to them than she is next to Roger.
The Guests = Around 135 cm/ 4'5" feet or 180 cm/ 5' 11" feet.
I'm practically certain that this one's wrong and they may be a bit shorter but still. Now I understand why the Chefs wait until they're asleep before they chop em. They're literally so much bigger than them.
The Lady = 155 cm/ 5"1' feet (165 cm/ 5'5" with the bun) or 200 cm/ 6'7" feet (210 cm/ 6'11" feet with the bun)
Can I say step on me or will I be sent to horny jail JAISKKLLDLFL but fr shes SO TALL its terrifying. Poor Six barely reaches her knee and I barely reach her shoulder. THE CHEFS DONT EVEN REACH THAT HAJDLRLFLLLLF ok enough chefs slander I love them they dont deserve this
I wasn't able to get the Granny's nor the Shadow Children's which saddens me to no end but alas, lets move on to LN 2.
THE PALE CITY
Hunter = 115 cm/ 3'7" feet or 160 cm/ 5'3" feet.
SMOL HUNTER! tinie. (holds gently) JDKKKD No but he's part of the Shorties, right next to the Bois. Love him. Go tiny man with your shoot gun that is literally as tall as you are. Go
Teacher = Around 150 cm/ 4'11 feet or 195 cm/6'5" feet.
🤚 hold on man hold on a second. Man hold on a second. Now I finally understand why the Bullies were so scared of her DAMN. she's almost as tall as the Lady that is TERRIFYING, mostly because I wasn't expecting it at all. And this isn't even the worst discovery I made 🙃
Bullies = 25 cm/ 8 inches or 70 cm/ 2'7" feet.
Well, Mono is around 15/60 cm without his paperbag so this def makes sense. I love the Bullies ill just (holds gently with Hunter)
Doctor = 405 cm/ 13 feet or 450 cm/ almost 15' feet
😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃what the fuck what the fuck what the fuck what the ficldfkflglf PLEASE prove me wrong. For once in my life i do not want to be right. Please. Please. Someone more competent than me try and figure this out I cannot handle this today
The Viewers = Around 145 cm/ 4'9" feet or 190 cm/ 6'3" feet.
This one impressed me I thought they were way shorter.
The Thin Man = Around 225 cm/ 7'5" feet or 270 cm/ 8'8" feet.
Listen after Doc this sounds perfectly reasonable. Also have you seen how much he has to kneel to get thru doors??? Hes a tall man. Im gonna start calling him street lamp (affectionate) (slander)
And that's all of them! All I have to add is

OUAT Thoughts Pt.46--Episodes 5-6
I have watched through S5E6; spoilers DNI. Also, spoiler warning for those further behind than I am.
—Before we started episode 5, my mom and I were discussing (I say discussing, but it was more like a collective brain-crash) which was our favorite character and which was the one we most vibe with. Neither of us came up with a vibe, although I’m sure I could and would end up very annoyed with myself for the result, but her favorite is Regina and mine is Rumple. These two episodes have only cemented it. He’s just so terribly well-written that I can’t help adoring him. I’d love to know other people’s opinions on either of those, but with my usual caveat: if it involves spoilers for future seasons, I’d still be happy to hear it, but only after I’ve gotten past that point myself.
—That faceless Dark One was a bomb-ass design. That mask was amazing.
—Merlin is gorgeous. I was expecting some old beardy guy, but I much prefer the Sorcerer who actually showed up. And his cloak is awesome. I’m a sucker for cool embroidery.
—Speaking of good clothes and gorgeous people, Regina got a new red dress in Camelot that I am absolutely loving. It’s a different fabric, the shade of red is different (I actually think it’s a shade that’s better suited to her skin tone), and the embellishments are laid out differently. She’s fr not my type in Storybrooke or in any Evil Queen clothes except the outstanding riding habits, but in Camelot she just hits different.
—When Henry set up that date with Violet at Granny’s, I spent the scene thinking about how good her costuming is. My mom’s main takeaway was, ‘if he really liked her, he would’ve poured her Coke instead of Pepsi.’ Which is true. Ain’t no soda like a classic Coke.
—At the midpoint of…episode 5, I think? I thought Henry and Violet were going to be a cool example of how different circumstances could inspire different relationships between the same people—but no, it was so much worse. I’m still waiting to find out what Emma’s motives or goals are, but if she’s justifying hurting Henry for them, she’s definitely up to no good.
—Swaggy that the Charmings know not to trust Arthur in Storybrooke. I was starting to get worried about how long they would be ignorant.
—Also, at this point the Charmings may from time to time include Regina (and Robin; she gets a plus-one) and Hook.
—Emma’s dreamcatcher garage is a scary place.
—When Rumple was reunited with Belle, that stuff he said really got to me. This is legitimately beyond words for me, but suffice it to say I do believe one person can be enough to keep you in the world. Whoever wrote what Rumple said about not letting go because he heard Belle’s voice must believe that too, because you can’t write words that real without one or both of experience and belief.
—Merida. Honey. Sweetheart. Light of my life. That splitting the arrow trick is cool, but you can’t reuse those. Conserve your ammo.
—Okay, so there’s some new backstory for Merida that works better than just the other clans not wanting a queen. Having her fight in a war alongside her father is a cool story bit, and the fact that her aim wavering on the battlefield is what led to the other clans doubting her is a stronger concept.
—She should’ve been a ginger bear. ✨for the vibes✨
—Kinda sad that the teacup is broken. That thing’s been important to me almost as long as it’s been important to Rumple and Belle.
—You know what, Belle has gotten mighty picky. She doesn’t like Rumple when he’s the Dark One, she doesn’t like Rumple when he’s his natural self, and yet around other people she goes on and on about how she’s not giving up on him. Yes, he’s probably his best self now that he’s faced up to his fears, but at some point Belle might want to consider that she doesn’t truly love him. Barely any version of him is good enough for her, which I think says more about her feelings about him than it does about those other versions of him.
—For a while I’ve been debating with myself about whether I’ve wanted Rumple to change so he could be with Belle (which you’ve seen some of the results of already in this review), and I’ve finally reached my major conclusion. I want Rumple to change for himself—not because I particularly dislike him one way or the other or because I don’t think he’s good enough in my opinion or someone else’s—but because I want him to be a person that *he* can be proud of. I want Rumple to be able to look himself in the mirror and like that man. That’s why this personal journey is so satisfying; I’m invested in him for his sake, not for the sake of the people around him.
—I got so many goosebumps when Rumple pulled Excalibur! 😍 *weeps with joy* And I think the best part is that he made a deal with Emma for someone else. Instead of just pulling Excalibur, or refusing to pull it, he only did it in exchange for Merida’s freedom. That is a beautiful counterpoint to the Dark One he used to be and I am entirely here for it.
—Y’all, I think this might be the version of Rumple I’ve wanted to see since the fourth season. He fierce.

Ofc I'm excited for the new chapter phoe, I am so starved for Jason content that even the suggestion that I'm going to get some (esp QUALITY Jason content like urs) makes me unbelievably giddy and I'm fr checking my phone to see when it's gonna be update time in ur timezone 🥺✨
Oh gosh, you're so sweet. Your messages always delight me a lot and since Jason took kind of a backseat today in favor of the build up of the secret reveal, yooou get a small, Jason-focused flash-forward into their future. ;) also because I actually have time to write again fdklghaöklh
--
Sky-blue eyes were large as they quickly flew over the words in front of him. His mouth was in a small oh-shape as he absorbed every little bit of information that was given to him. And then it just ended.
To Be Continued...
No, no, no. That couldn't possibly be! This was too exciting, it couldn't just end like that! His sister next to him made a squealing sound as she also reached the ending. She grabbed the comic book out of his hand and tried turning the page, hoping against hope there would be more.
"No, no, no," she whined frustrated and threw herself back onto the bed.
After a moment, her brother mirrored her. The two groaned and whined until their current babysitter walked in, a frown on his face. He brushed hazel-hair out of his face.
"What's gotten into you lot?"
"The comic ends, uncle Tyson! It just ends! And the next issue won't come out until next month, but it just got really, really exciting!" he heard his sister complain.
"Grace is right! This isn't fair. Cliffhangers are unlawful and inhumane!"
Tyson laughed and approached the bed to sit down between his niece and nephew. "I think I gotta talk to your parents about your definition of unlawful and inhumane, Jacky."
Jackson huffed and crossed his arms over his chest, pout in place and sky-blue eyes dark like a brewing storm. When it darkened in the room and rumbling could be heard from outside, Tyson frowned concerned and cleared his throat.
"You guys do know that you could just... ask your parents, right? They were right there. They know exactly how all of this unfolded," offered Tyson.
He took the comic-book - issue 13 of The Adventures of the New Olympians - and closed it to hold up the cover, where Jason di Angelo was standing heroically in his Blue Lightning uniform, fighting a giant space-octopus. Jackson frowned and turned to look at his sister.
"I dunno", admitted Grace. "Dad is like... dad. Not Blue Lightning. Dad sings bad old boyband songs in the shower and steals daddy's blue cookies and baby-talks to Mrs. O'Leary."
"Yeah. These comics are totally fiction, uncle Tyson", agreed Jackson seriously. "Dad's a total dork, not a superhero! He isn't like daddy and papa."
Tyson huffed a little at that, fond smile on his lips. "He isn't now. But when push comes to shove, he always got our back in a fight. Because he could never bear standing aside if his family gets hurt. Go and ask him about it, mh."
"Tyson? Where are you?", called his wife from somewhere else. "Jason is here to pick up the kids!"
"Ah, your cue, pipsqueaks", Tyson grinned and ruffled both their hair.
Grace quickly grabbed her Wisdom Warrior doll, while Jackson took the comic book, both kids quickly running out the room and downstairs. Grace just lept off a few steps before the end of the stairs, jumping straight into her dad's awaiting arms. Jason was smiling softly, hugging her tightly. Her blonde curls bounced as he whirled her around once.
"Hey there, kids. Had fun with uncle Tyson and auntie Ella?"
"Ye--es", chorused Jackson and Grace.
"Thanks for watching them, guys", Jason turned to offer Tyson and Ella a small, grateful smile. "With Perce and Nico still in Canada about that... maple syrup fuled robot apocalypse... it's been kind of stressful. And then Thabi got into trouble at school and-"
"No need to explain, or to thank us", assured Tyson, patting his brother-in-law on the back. "That's what brothers are for, Jay. We got your back. Besides, we love those two."
With a last smile aimed at the couple, Jason herded the twins out of the house and toward the car. He made sure their seatbelts were fastened before he got in the driver's seat and started the car. In the rear-mirror, he could see the twins whispering with each other, but neither speaking up. He decided against asking, for now. They'd tell him whatever was on their minds when they were ready.
Once at home, both of the kids ran off to their rooms and Jason was so busy with things around the house that he nearly forgot about the kids' strange behavior. That's what they got for having a ridiculously big house and stables, but then again, they did need the grounds to allow their companions enough space to roam free. He'd just finished feeding Tempest and Blackjack when the twins suddenly stood behind him, serious, matching frowns on their faces.
"We have come to the agreement that we should ask you", declared Grace.
A nine-year-old with pigtails had no right to look this serious. Jason smiled a little at that, nodding and waiting for more.
"We know that daddy and papa are superheroes", continued Jackson as the three headed back toward the house. "But you aren't! You're just... dad. Right?"
"Ouch", Jason huffed out a little laugh. "Just dad, huh?"
"I mean, you're normal, like us", corrected Grace with a frown, motioning at the posters at the walls when they entered the living room. "You're only a hero on the big screen! Not in real life!"
The smile on Jason's lips turned more nostalgic. His dorky, dorky husbands had decided to plaster every wall that wasn't filled with family pictures with posters of his movies. Right now, Grace was motioning very decidedly at The Twelve Tasks of Hercules. Hercules was his most popular role, a fictional superhero clearly supposed to be the son of Zeus but never actually name-dropping Zeus in the movie series. Or the spin-off TV show. It had spanned a whole cinematic universe about fictional superheroes after they had introduced Theseus, a water-powered superhero who was a thinly veiled homage to Percy, in one of the movies. Theseus got his own solo-movie, then a sequel and over the years, they had established more and more heroes in this universe. Jason was so incredibly proud of it, not just because he played the hero who started it all, but because he was also creatively involved; he had pitched the character of Theseus.
Sitting down on the couch, he let his eyes wander just a little. A poster of his first big breakout role as Jace Herondale in a TV show adaptation of The Mortal Instruments... naturally, Percy had chosen the poster where Jason posed shirtless, showing off the runes.
"What do you want to be when you grow up?", asked Jason softly.
"I wanna take over granny's bakery", declared Jackson with a puffed-out chest. "I'll learn all of her recipes and become the best baker in all of New York."
"I dunno, dad. I'm nine", huffed Grace with a pointed look. "Maybe I'll become a great fashion designer like auntie Silena! Or a teacher like auntie Annabeth. Or president. Or astronaut. Oh! Or doctor."
"Okay, okay", Jason interrupted her, laughing. "But neither of you wants to become a superhero like your dads?"
The twins exchanged a silent look before shaking their heads and Jackson answered. "No. It looks scary. It looks cool to watch but I'd be super scared."
Jason nodded slowly. "But if Gracie was in danger, like really, really scary danger, what would you do?"
"I'd help her!", exclaimed Jackson immediately, grabbing his sister's hand.
The smile on Jason's lips grew some. "Being a hero is really, really scary and really, really dangerous. And I never-ever wanted to be a hero. I'm not as brave as your dads when it comes to that. But when there is something very big and dangerous that your dads can't handle on their own, I'll put my own fears aside. Because you know what is just... so much scarier than being a hero? It'd be if something happened to your dads. And I couldn't help."
He knew their kids were under no illusions; they knew Nico and Percy led dangerous lives and they knew something could happen to them. Nico had already been hospitalized for a longer period of time a few years ago.
"So when they really need me, I'll be very brave to help them."
"So... So this is really real?", asked Grace softly, holding up the comic-book.
Jason snorted a little at the extremely overdone hero-pose he was striking on the cover. "It's... more or less real. There's some... made-up stuff there, because those who write these comics, they only had the news coverage to go by, they weren't actually there when we met in private and planned and talked. But yes, that happened."
Jackson straightened up at that and took the comic from his sister to open it on the last page, putting it down on Jason's lap and very decidedly pointing at the To Be Continued in the lower corner.
"How's it end!?", asked Jackson eagerly. "We don't wanna wait!"
"Ye--es! Did you save the day? Did you rescue daddy when he got abducted by the alien octopus?", wanted Grace to know, eyes large.
Laughing to himself, Jason leaned back against the couch and opened his arms, both his kids immediately snuggling up to him and eagerly awaiting the story. Jason wasn't the greatest story-teller in the family, Piper was the author, but he did his best to actually tell the story as exciting as possible. He talked and talked for over an hour and by the end of the story, both twins were deep asleep. Asleep on him, not giving him a chance to move from the couch either. Though he was tired too, so he closed his eyes, just for a second.
"I'm de--ead", groaned Percy softly and something shifted.
Jason blinked sleepily, turning his head toward the source of the voice. His face lit up when he saw Percy snuggled up to Grace from behind. When he turned toward his other side, he saw Nico behind Jackson.
"I'm sorry we were both gone, amore", whispered Nico as he leaned over to kiss Jason sweetly. "It was an all-hands-on-deck situation..."
"You don't have to explain", Jason smiled faintly. "You're the leaders of the Olympians. They rely on you. Especially now with all the newbies, they need your guidance."
"Yeah, but we promised you we'd step back some", Percy sighed frustrated.
"You can't control when a weird Canadian wants to start the robot- apocalypse", Jason chuckled amused. "I'm proud of you both. And you have been stepping back a lot."
Percy hummed in agreement, eyes slowly closing as he rested his head on Jason's shoulder. Within moments, he was out cold. So the entire family was going to sleep on the couch today, mh?
"How did your meeting go?", asked Nico, sounding sleepy.
"Good. I mean. Really good. The studio is still so stubbornly thinking that female superheroes won't sell, but we finally pushed through. We got the Helen of Troy spin-off greenlit", replied Jason with a puffed out chest.
Nico smiled at him, kissing his cheek. "Good. I'm proud of you."
And then he yawned and snuggled closer to Jason. It filled Jason with warmth to just sit here, with his husbands and children, in their home. Safe and happy. Yes, he worried for Nico and Percy when they were out there, but he also knew that this was their dream and they loved their job. And ever since the twins had been born, the two really had stepped back, leading from the headquarters and training new heroes, only going out themselves if it was an emergency and the others needed help. Jason couldn't be mad about that, wouldn't want to be either, because he could never resent his husbands for living their dream - they had, after all, always supported Jason and his dream. Even when Jason would be in another country for months filming a movie, they never complained, they took care of the kids and were proudly at his side during the premieres.
"I love you two", whispered Jason, carefully kissing the top of Nico's head on one of his shoulders and the top of Percy's head on the other. "My heroes."

i saw that you play genshin impact, so i’m kind of curious... what’d be the axis and allies’ vision and weapons?
Uh oh...now you got me started. Be warned, it’s a long one cause I have no self control
Some key terms for those who don’t play genshin impact and want to be included!!
Cryo -> ice, Hydro -> water, Dendro -> nature, Geo -> rock, Pyro -> fire, Electro -> lightning
Hilichurls: a common enemy found in the wild. Despite looking like hairy trolls, they have a district language as well as texts, art and song that they share together making them an advanced species!
Ruin guards: another enemy. Giant, scary robot...they scare me...
Knights of Favonious: an organization of knights within Mondstat that keep order and peace :) very nice guys and gals over there!!
Mondstat: modeled after Germany
Liyue: modeled after China
Alfred: pyro, claymore, Springvale Mondstat
Tumblr media
Alfred would be a super heavy hitter in battle but his drawbacks are that despite his energetic nature, he’s slower because of the weight of his weapon
He blows stuff up a lot and sets all of the grass around you on fire so if you fight with him...His teammates will take damage from him Jeez Louise!!!
Since we don’t have all of the nations of Teyvay unlocked, I don’t know where he’d be from! I’d have to explore to get a sense for it so for characters that don’t have a place on the map yet, I’ll mark them with an asterisk from now on! :)
Idk where he lives but I do know that he’d be a devoted member of the adventurers guild! He’s always willing to offer a helping hand to anyone in need! Wether it be helping Granny Ann make hash browns or taking comissions to go kill a huge ruin guard who’s terrorizing the town!! He’s always leaping into new jobs! He isn’t even in it for the money or rewards! He just loves helping out!
Arthur: Dendro, archer, Mondstat
Tumblr media
Artie is a beast in battle! Shooting vine Aries at enemies to tie them up or temporarily blind them??? Sick as fuck. Keep in mind, Genshin doesn’t have any Dendro characters that are playable yet so idk how they’d fight but I think I can guess :)
Artie is technically part of the knights of favonious because he works in their library. He translates books written in ancient texts into the standard language so historians and others can read what the old civilizations had to say
Instead of having normal eyes, they’re slit like snake eyes. And he has leaves instead of hair :)
He has a little seelie that floats around at his side. He talks to it but it doesn’t really do anything but provide company to a lonely guy :’) he needs more friends
Matthew: Anemo, catalyst, *
Tumblr media
It’s always good to have a catalyst on your team! Ningguang is a great example of an underestimated catalyst cause she can do INSANE damage man!! So I think Mattie would be the same way
Matt isn’t violent and doesn’t enjoy fighting so his in-game voice lines would say that lol
Mattie is an alchemist! Well...A student alchemist. He didn’t take up an interest in alchemy until like, 3 years ago so he’s got a lot to catch up on still! He’s doing his best!
He gets very annoyed with Alfred since Mattie is detail oriented and gentle...Alfred is not any of those things. But he still loves his brother and on rare occasions, he’ll assist him with his commissions
Ivan: Cryo, catalyst, Liyue(temporary)
Tumblr media
Ivan would be a support character for sure but he’d do a damn good job of doing it
He’s buff but he doesn’t do hand to hand combat, he’s mastered magic for a reason
Ivan spends most of his time studying hilichurls. He writes books about them, translates their texts and acts as a peace keeper when he can. He gets information from them about the Abyss Order in return for free reign of small portions of protected land where they can live without fear of being killed
Because he’s from Schneznya(spelling?) he’s kinda expected to be a bad guy but he left a long time ago. But he still sounds like he’s from there and...He’s super pale too so there really is no mistaking where he’s from
Ivan can’t stand how ignorant humans are towards hilichurls so he does everything he can to advocate for them. He’s covered in scars from when he first started engaging with the beasts. A huge scar runs down his face but he doesn’t mind it
He’s got big, sharp teeth!! So he doesn’t often smile cause he thinks he looks weird
Francis: Hyrdo, long sword, *
Tumblr media
Fran is underestimated when it comes to combat (like Kaeya...I see you slandering this man) but he has so much potential!
Since he’s a hydro, he is so useful for elemental reactions! If he’s paired with a cryo or pyro user, he’d totally boost them!!
Fran is a traveling entertainer, he goes between the 7 nations as a singer and actor for small stage plays. He has a crew of friends who travel with him, they’re one jolly bunch!
He always acts all nonchalant and stuff but once he’s in a battle, he’s wild. Especially if the abyss order holds up his crew on their way to their next tour destination “We need to be in Liyue Harbor in four hours you are NOT holding us back!” *tidal wave*
He’s a regular tavern hopper! A very recognizable face since he’s been banned from a handful for getting too rowdy
He can make not one, but 2 special dishes :0
Yao: Dendro, polearm, Liyue
Tumblr media
I just imagine him as a shorter, richer and cooler version of Zhongli
He’d do that kick move that Zhongli does with his polearm oh man that looks SICK dude!!!
Yao would shoot vines out and they’d strangle enemies for a few seconds before disintegrating but if he’s leveled up enough, they’ll totally strangle those stupid hillichurls lol
Yao sells rare gems and other miscellaneous items for very high prices in Liyue where he grew up. His shop is upstairs by the Fatui bank. Rich people enjoy looking at what his shop has to fifer and will argue prices with him. They’re getting scammed for sure. He’ll list a set of cor lapis earrings as $50,000 and the rich will be like ‘I’ll pay $25,000, no more than that’ and he’ll take it!!....Cause thise earrings are worth $5000 at most >:)
Hes close with a lot of the higher ups in Liyue and is often invited to fancy lunches or dinners where they discuss policy, contracts and vendor permits. He doesn’t really get a say in any of that but he benefits from listening
Kiku: Electro, claymore, *
Tumblr media
Kiku would be SUCH an awesome electo user are you KIDDING me??? I can see it now, him swinging that huge sword around, purple lightning bolts flying all around and he looks like a total badass? Amazing vibes
When paired with cryos???? He’d do an insane amount of damage fr
Kiku runs a small restaurant where he...runs the place...but doesn’t cook. His restaurant is extremely exclusive and people often throw fits when they can’t get in cause the wait list is over 5 years long. He’ll rest his hand on their shoulder and smile ‘is something wrong? I’d love to take a complaint if you have one’...No one has even dared to complain to his face lol
Behind the restaurant front he deals with the Fatui, buying and selling minerals or artifacts. That’s where his knowledge is at, not with food. He pays his staff to ignore what goes on behind the scenes and the locals are too busy enjoying the restaurant to question what goes on after dark
Gilbert: Pyro, long sword, Mondstat
Tumblr media
Gil would be one of the free characters given to you at the beginning of the game but hey, I’m not complaining
He’s highly destructive and very chaotic in battle, he can do that spin move even though that’s meant for claymore users
He’s Mondstat’s biggest trouble maker. He runs an underground gambling room that sits underneath a tavern. He isn’t really into gambling but he makes a lot of money by running it
The only knight who knows is Ludwig which is not good cause...Gil pretty much bribes his brother into not telling the knights of favonious (peace keepers of Mondstat)
Gil never got his gliding certificate cause he kept flying into buildings. He broke his nose doing that lol
Lovino: Pyro, catalyst, *
I can’t add anymore images so imagine a floating, red and black orb. Lovi doesn’t get a book catalyst cause he doesn’t read :) That’s the catalyst thing I’m talking about 😅😅
My guy has the angriest in game voice lines, he’s inconvenienced by every battle, every enemy is ugly and a fuckin disaster. He’s just. Angry.
He’d be a super weak character if he needed to rely on hand to hand combat but he learned magic for a reason babey
He owns a flower stand in his country and makes all kinds of beautiful flower arrangements. He even picks his own flowers in the fields when he can (but usually pays the town’s children to do it for him to ‘teach them the value of hard work’).
Everyone knows he’s a total hothead and will piss him off on purpose just cause it’s funny lmao. But then somehow...Their hair or clothes will just...catch on fire. So is it really worth it to tease him? :/
Feliciano: Hydro, archer, Mondstat(temporary)
Tumblr media
I feel like Feli would also be a free character, not cause he isn’t good or anything! But you always need an archer on your team!
Feli has healing properties for his team and doesn’t do an insane amount of damage but when given the right resources, he’d be a pretty sick healer
He moved to Mondstat to join the church there. He leads prayers in front of the church and sings in the choir inside.
He is the sweetest and has never committed a crime in his LIFE but he’s afraid of the knights lol he’s terrified that he’ll get in trouble and be kicked out of Mondstat forever! That would never happen but he’s a worry wart cause of his brother
Ludwig: Geo, long sword, Mondstat
Tumblr media
Lud is the only one that I could really think of as a Geo but Geos are awesome :)
He’s a hard hitter but has like...No shield so he’ll take damage fast if you don’t give him those artifacts with shield in them or whatever lol uhhhh I wouldn’t know anything about that cause I suck at building my teams ;-;
He’d totally be in with the knights of favonious! (I think that’s spelled right lol) but he’d take his duty as a knight very seriously!! He’s a familiar face around Mondstat, the elderly absolutely adore him and the local teenage girls swoon over him which he finds super embarrassing lol
He has to work hard to keep Gilbert in check cause even though Gil isn’t a knight, his actions reflect negatively back on Lud very often... :(
Please ignore the spelling errors and terrible photo cropping on my part lol this was so fun!!
By the time you’re seeing this, ive already made full outfit red sheets for everyone mentioned above!!!! :D

Headcanons for (Freddy Krueger, Inkubus, Mayor Buckman, Dr. Andover) being obsessed with/having a twisted "crush" on (one of) their latest victim(s), if you do not mind terribly. Maybe there's just *something* about them...But she fights and refuses.
First off, all the Englund character group?! Yes, omg PLEASE. This is gonna be so fun to do, I can feel it! And then the angst, the pining! Ahhh! Anon, bless you. I hope I’ve done well!
Tumblr media
Freddy
He wasn’t the one to usually pine for anyone, the only thing he craved, the thing he wanted was their soul. That was it, that’s how it always went. But something was off, something about them just sparked the need and want that he NEVER felt for anyone on this level. It was ridiculous and he wanted to cast the thoughts from his head immediately, but it kept gnawing at the back of his mind no matter what he did.
At first, he stalked them like he did any normal victim, but with every visit, she noticed the shift in their dreams, how it went from demonic and terrifying to a seemingly more intimate setting. She wasn’t exactly upset by the change, but when she started seeing him more and more, it was unnerving and it made her feel real danger when she was asleep.
Freddy would try so desperately to convince her that she was special, that she was something that was never supposed to happen, but she doesn’ like where this is going. She HATES it. She just wants to dream normally and live her life when she’s awake, but he tries so hard to not let her go. This is his realm and will do everything in his power to keep her here with him.
When she begins to fight it and try to escape, his twisted sense of reality doesn’t seem to register at first, he tries to show her just how wonderful it can be to be here in the dream realm with him. Why would you be so stupid as to reject that? It’s bliss. He would try to show her over and over again, to prove that he was worth seeing a different side to. If she didn’t agree, what would he do, exactly?
Marking her up would be such a delicious joy, showing her that he was displaying his loyalty to her, showing her what NO ONE else had ever earned before from him, not even when he was bound to a mortal body. He wanted to hurt her in the best way possible to show her how being with him would be better than ecstasy, better than living in her usual dull, mundane world. He would show her what living could be.
That urge to feel the hot blood run from her by his blades would flash in his mind as she would look up at him in complete and utter fear, the fact that she was denying him, a pathetic human fool who knew nothing of the things she could have gotten. To hell with her, she would end up just like any other victim he had in his realm. It was either bow to him or die by his hand. ‘Make your choice, princess.’
Tumblr media
Inkubus
Who wouldn’t want him to sweep them off their feet and make them feel so good all the time? It would be impossible to resist his charm, especially with all of the magic he was able to hold, to use to influence anyone and everyone he desired. But she was the one special case that he had never expected to come upon. He spotted her taking a walk alone, the sway of her hips and the look in her eyes, he would have her, he would pass on his festering seed to live another life for 100 years within her. He needed to have her.
What a surprise though, she wanted nothing to do with him. His magic, his aura, his charms, they all failed him. How would one like her be able to disregard his magic and just swat him away as if he were another typical pest? Pathetic, he needed to try harder. She continuously shot him down no matter what he did or how hard he tried, but he refused to believe she couldn’t stand him, so he decided to follow her and send her little gifts here and there. It was easy to find where she lived.
He would creep in the shadows of her place, whether it was when she was alone or when she had guests, but no matter who was there, they’d all think they were going insane. Seeing shadows from the corner of their eyes wasn’t normal, but they’d all ignore it until one day she snaps and loses her cool, crying out for him not to hurt her. She would beg for her life as he would reveal himself to her, hoping that she’d just see him and something would light up in her eyes and realize just how wrong she had been to reject his advances.
When he realizes that she tries to go for a weapon to protect herself with, he realizes the truth of it all; he cannot reach her and she would never accept him willingly. When it hits him, he’s appalled by the fact she wants nothing more than to get him out of her life, readily standing there with a kitchen knife as she cowers in the corner. He would have given her the world, why can’t she see that? Inkubus only saw red after that.
Why won't she see it? He would look down upon her with mercy, something that hadn't been done in so many centuries for the demon that it was completely foreign to him as it was said upon his tongue. His blade would reveal itself with a slick sound, his face no longer holding the affection it once did for her, and she knew that she had made a mistake. He watched and listened as she begged for her life, pleading with him to give her another chance, but he saw right through her desperate lies.
When he looked at her and saw the potential, he was almost disappointed that it would go to waste so easily. She was special, he thought as his hands weaved through her hair, yanking her up to meet his gaze so he could stare her in the face as his expression remained blank. “We could have been so much,” he would say as he sliced her throat open and watched the blood come streaming down her front. At least he would be able to bathe in this for later.
Tumblr media
Mayor Buckman
Lord in Heaven knows this man should not be cahootin’ with living people and falling head over heels for one, but there he was, completely smitten with her. She was going to be another side dish for the main course for this year's Jubilee, just like it had always been each year prior, but even his boys had noticed the change in him. Granny Boone had been so wrapped up in preparing for the feast that she hadn't even noticed her own husband's distance, that is until she noticed her.
She was so pure and full of life that she had seemed more than willing to stay for the barbecue, the little detour had proven to be more exciting than she had anticipated, so she offered to even help around the town if they allowed it. Buckman was taken by that kind of offer, especially from a Yankee, it was unheard of and it wouldn't sway his mind. But the more he learned about her, the more she had spoken about her life, the mayor was strangely drawn to her like she was the one.
It was a ridiculous idea since she was alive and very much younger than he, but no matter how much he tried to convince himself it was some sort of fever he had been suffering, anything that would easily explain the feelings he had been having. What he didn't expect was to come to the conclusion that he would fancy her. No one could know about this, but he wasn't making it very discreet the next morning. He would walk up to her, that large grin plastered to his face as he'd explain there was so much to do here in Pleasant Valley, all the things she could occupy her time with. She would thank him but feel rather uneasy by how touchy he'd get with his hand always placed on her shoulder.
The day after, he would have to tell her how he was feeling or else he'd lose her entirely to either her leaving or her being served up on a silver platter for his townsfolk. When he had caught her alone, away from her friends, he stuttered like a madman and felt so odd, it was a wonder he was able to speak at all. During this entire confession, the young woman stood there in uncomfortable silence and shifted slightly, already planning to leave as soon as she possibly could to avoid any more of this. When she didn't share Buckman’s views, he grew reserved and upset, curious as to why she would treat him like this, like some common man. He even explained there was something about her that he couldn't stop thinking about.
She recoiled from his touch and he looked at her in confused disgust. How could he be so blind, she was nothing like him and she would never accept him or his way of life. He pleaded with her, tried to convince her to think otherwise, but the harsh words that followed did not make Buckman too happy. He looked at her in silence and then walked away; he couldn't find the words to tell her just how infuriated he had been. He was going to try and find a way for them to be together, whether she would have been alive or not, but he was willing to make it work. She was ungrateful.
Her time had come as she had been cornered, the rest of her friends dead and already being cooked for the Jubilee, where she had been on the ground, shaking like mad. She wanted her life to be spared, she wouldn't tell a soul about what transpired, she promised. Those promises always came up empty. Buckman looked down on the poor soul, annoyed at himself for once feeling pity for that wretched girl, but now he felt his power return once again as he stood over her, his trusty sword in his hand. It would have to be him to take her life, he wouldn't want it any other way.

Doctor Andover
He had no time for trivial things such as infatuations and crushes on others, it would interfere with his work and it wouldn’t be a great idea to get anyone involved in his...complicated personal life. But when she walked through the door of the clinic, Andover didn’t expect much from the consultation, until she spoke to him. She was something else, that was for sure, and the phobia that brought her into the clinic was more than curable for Andover. He would have to lie though, to prolong her stay and keep her here with him, naturally, he would have to lie to his assistant’s as well for the benefit of keeping her around.
When she comes in to speak to the good doctor for several one on one meetings about her phobia, she eases into conversation with him and even feels she can trust him with what she’s suffered through. He feels the same, he feels so connected to her now that he felt as if no one else beyond this room existed but the both of them. How he imagined what she would feel like against his hands, how she would sound as they shared a moment together in secrecy. Andover craved it now, he wanted nothing but her. Soon after she had been placed in the Fear Chamber, he would watch her as she slowly drifted off into unconsciousness and he would be sure to have the room locked so he could just enjoy her presence in peace.
When her fears had been slowly getting in check, she would thank him and talk about leaving his facility. He wanted nothing more than to be with her for as long as possible while he helped her, aided her in getting better. She would only accept his help since she saw him as a professional, he would guide her to being better, feeling better. What she didn’t anticipate was that one day, he offered to pay for her room and board outside of the facility if it were to make her comfortable. It didn’t.
When she insisted that she didn’t need that, that she was leaving indefinitely, he only fought harder to keep her there, to stay near him. She was the one keeping him going with all of this insanity around him, especially when something greater was happening that he wasn’t fully aware of. Today was the day her treatment ended and she was packing her things when Doctor Andover appeared in the doorway. “You must come with me, I have one last thing for you for your therapy.” He led her to the room with the Fear Chamber, but she was so taken back when he pushed her inside, gassing her to sleep with a deadly amount.
She cried out to be released, she just wanted to go back home, but Andover was already committed to keeping her there for himself. He had made a deal with whatever creature fed from the patients’ fear, that he would get to keep her there with him in exchange for the others. He blindly and willingly accepted it. It was foolish but it was a deal he couldn’t go back on. Before she lost consciousness, she begged him to see reason, but now there had been no going back for Andover.
After it had been done and she fell asleep, her hand slowly sliding down the front of the glass as she drifted, her fears came back twice as strong as her new fear developed into her subconscious, and it took the shape of Andover himself. Even in her slow and agonizing death, he would always be there for her, whether it was to torment her through her afterlife or just show up as some twisted guardian. He watched over her for weeks until he could no longer keep the body, but he would have her in her mind forever.

*     mentality     !!
TRIGGER WARNINGS ; mentioned in this post are references to child abuse ( both mental, emotional and physical ), sexual abuse ( marital rape ), anxiety, an eating disorder ( anorexia nervosa ) , violence and suicidal thoughts ( depression ), infertility, and an undiagnosed case of dissociative identity disorder ( multiple personality disorder )
regina is not mentally stable, especially in her youth, her marriage and, predominantly, her reign as queen. none of this information condones what regina did, the people she killed and/or terrorised - but it does explain a lot of her habits and why she does/says the things she does/says.
(     SOCIAL SKILLS     )
in “regina rising”, there are passages that imply regina was not permitted to interact with other children her age, let alone children of a lesser class.
“my mother and i had gone to town, and a pair of little girls had invited me to play marbles. my mother had scooted me past before i’d even been able to answer, and when i’d begged her to let me play one little game, she’d said - we’d had more important things to do - only i couldn’t think of a single thing we’d done that afternoon that was important at all”
it’s imperative for a child’s development to spend time with children their own age. more than that, it confirms that regina didn’t have a single friend until she was sixteen years old ( and she later learns that that friend was actually spying on her for cora ) - regina isn’t very good at making friends, even during the curse where the evil queen didn’t hang over her head. this explains why - because she’d never really had one that she made herself ( until maleficent ).
in season four, ( though i do not portray anything beyond season three ), emma mentions to regina about being friends, and regina was genuinely surprised at the suggestion. at first, it might seem to be because of their history but it makes sense that regina would be confused by the idea of friendship with a supposed enemy.
friendship in general is a concept regina is unfamiliar with. she has severe trust issues, which will be discussed, but it doesn’t help that after being kept from making any by her mother, she was then trapped inside a castle as the queen. befriending anyone then would have been entirely out of the question, because any friend of the queen was just that - a friend of the queen.
(     ABUSE     )
in season one, “the stable boy”, cora restrains regina with leather straps and raises her in the air until regina submits, begging “i’ll be good” as she cries. in “regina rising”, cora locks her daughter in her room with her magic and regina expects to be there for far longer than just an hour. cora also verbally belittles regina’s attire, her figure, her eating habits and her talents. cora instills in regina the idea that she needs to watch what she eats otherwise she will put on weight, and that would be unacceptable in cora’s eyes. later in the book, she then slaps regina across the face, viciously.
“i reached for the biscuits, but my mother slapped my hand - you’ve had enough, regina ‘ she said, almost sweetly. - i’ve only had one. i’d like another - i sounded like a little girl, and i hated myself for it.”
“ - i’ve heard quite enough from you, regina - my mother narrowed her eyes and waved her hand. i covered my ears and steeled myself as best i could for whatever terrible magic she had in store for me** …….. the sash that had been tied around my waist loosened. after floating before my eyes for a second or two, it snapped straight and wrapped itself over my mouth and around my head.”
“the words were barely out of my mouth when her hand crashed against my cheek. i held back a whimper and stood still.”
** - clearly, regina is used to cora using her magic against her as a form of discipline. she comes to expect that it will hurt her and it surprises when it doesn’t initially.
in another passage, regina is anxious to show cora her progress at art. when cora sees regina’s painting, she says “well, we cannot be good at everything” - in another chapter, young regina sings and dances with village children and cora later comments that she cannot sing. while not necessarily as damaging as previous put-downs, it does make regina feel insecure and thus, i class it as abuse.
while it is not touched upon in either the show itself of “regina rising”, regina is eventually married off to king leopold who is more than three times her age. regina is only seventeen when she saves snow white and it isn’t long after that she is forced to marry the king. in the show, leopold is originally interpreted as a jovial character, a kind king and loving father. but he is still a king, and he is still much, much older than his new wife. it is not outside the realm of possibility that regina was forced to endure sexual acts with her lord husband.
in “regina rising”, cora attempts to force regina’s hand at courting an older “prince” named benjamin who had already been through two marriages. it is implied in the books that regina’s youth would suit benjamin well and also supports the implication that young wives were often forced to please their husbands.
it is not confirmed, but i will be writing it as if it were - regina suffered through marital rape in the early years of her marriage to king leopold. she never told snow white, and would not tell her even now.
(     ANXIETY/TRUST ISSUES     )
regina, as a young girl, craved cora’s approval more than anything. she was trained and conditioned to cora’s expectations and quickly learned that nothing she did would ever live up to them. until “regina rising”, when she is sixteen years old, regina is submissive to cora’s every whim and fancy. she suffers from panic attacks when she knows that she has done something that would upset her mother but has since learned to hide them until she is safely hidden in her room. in “regina rising”, it is mentioned that regina digs her nails in to the palms of her hands and at one point, wishes that the marks would bleed. this is caused by loss of control and her attempts at regaining it.
it is a subtle habit that she has not broken. while not as present in storybrooke as it is in the enchanted forest, if she feels the need to, she will clench her fists until her palms bleed, or her skin is marked red.
because of past experiences, regina has come to expect the worst from people. it’s why she does not trust as easily as she used to when she was younger. in “regina rising”, the story includes a girl named claire fairchild who regina befriended, her first friend, whom regina later learned was playing her all along. she was really there at cora’s request, and cora even stole claire’s heart at some point in the story. regina was so utterly heartbroken by the betrayal and she even questioned her own naivety.
it was this act that prompted regina to commit her first grey deed that belied her then pure heart. regina made a deal with cora in exchange for claire’s heart to be returned to her, and a forgetting potion. she then instructed claire to read a note that told her about her impending wedding before cora gave her heart heart back, and then slipped prince benjamin a forgetting potion. she then lied to him, telling him that he was to wed claire.
this was regina’s first glimpse of true betrayal and it leads in to her meeting snow white in the show. though regina’s trust in others her age and those older than her is fleeting, she has no reason not to trust children until she meets snow again. with her already questioning her faith in other people, snow’s betrayal and the subsequent death of daniel as a result immediately broke what was left.
(     EATING DISORDER     )
anorexia nervosa is characterised by persistent energy intake restriction, intense fear of gaining weight and disturbance in self perceived weight or shape ( link ). as mentioned above, cora belittles regina’s eating habits and in later chapters of “regina rising”, regina catches herself limiting her food intake as a result. it does not go in to detail in either the show or the book, so i have taken some liberties with this aspect of regina’s mentality.
in season three, “quite a common fairy” ( referenced again later ), regina sits at a banquet table, alone. the table is full of food but regina only drinks out of a goblet. though it is a lot of food for one person, it doesn’t actually look like she’s attempted to eat any of it. maybe she’s just not hungry? in the back of her mind, cora will always be there telling her that she’s had enough to eat and that she should watch her figure, especially now that she’s officially the queen.
in storybrooke, she seems to have overcome this disorder, no doubt in part thanks to her newfound freedom in a new world. in season two, “welcome to storybrooke”, it’s reaching a bit high but she honest to god looks like she’s in love with the pancakes granny serves at the diner. though it is not as prevalent in storybrooke as it was in the enchanted forest, she does sometimes still catch herself counting calories or pushing food around her plate.
i do want to point out that her eating disorder is not so severe as to make her sick or skeletal. cora would have never allowed her to show such weakness. but her constantly thinking about what she’s eating does affect her to the point where she has gone without eating every now and then. she also forgets to eat as the mayor in storybrooke and has to be reminded.
(     DEPRESSION     )
in season three, “quite a common fairy”, regina falls from her balcony and is then saved by tinkerbell, who later asks regina why she jumped. regina laughs and plays it off as if she fell, but tinkerbell doesn’t believe regina’s story one bit. and regina stops laughing.
there is a massive gap between young regina the newly crowned queen, and queen regina the reigning monarch, who has the king killed and a hunter sent after snow white. what turned regina from the docile queen resigned to her fate into the vengeful monster desperate for freedom? i have not yet decided what to headcanon for this.
there was a fanfic i read once where regina had made a deal with rumplestiltskin. i think the deal was that he promised her that she would be happy one day, and she wouldn’t try to kill herself. this deal is a brilliant theory and i’ve decided to incorporate it in to regina’s backstory. let’s look at all the things so far that could contribute to regina contemplating suicide.
she’s abused as a child
she’s forced in to marriage
and then sexually abused
she has to play mother to a child only six years younger than her
that child broke a promise, that resulted in the below
her true love was killed right in front of her
she was trapped by a spell of her mother’s that prevented her from leaving the castle before she was married
regina was not happy. she was miserable and at some point, she thought the only way out was dying. at least then she would be with daniel. but rumplestiltskin needed her to cast his curse, because she was apparently the only one capable of casting it ( i have a headcanon about why ) - maybe he genuinely cared about her well-being, but in my opinion, he only cared about himself and he didn’t want to wait another few centuries to find someone who could take him to the land without magic. so he did the only thing he could do ; strike a deal. regina wanted to know if living was worth it, so she asked him to swear that she would be happy in the future. he swore, and she agreed to not kill herself.
but that didn’t stop her from hating every minute of her life as the queen, as leopold’s wife and as snow white’s mother. and with snow white getting everything that she wanted, regina’s resentment only grew. eventually, when she saw a way out, she took it without hesitation. that way out was the genie and the death of the king.
(     DISSOCIATIVE IDENTITY DISORDER     )
also known as multiple personality disorder. i have mentioned in previous posts that regina has a lot ( and i mean, a lot ) of layers. there are so many different aspects of her character and several different personalities where most are completely different to others. it could just be character development, but i have decided to go a different route. the below points are all experiences that come with dissociative identity disorder ( link )
DEPERSONALIZATION. this is a sense of being detached from one’s body and is often referred to as an “out-of-body” experience.
DEREALIZATION. this is the feeling that the world is not real or looking foggy or far away.
AMNESIA. this is the failure to recall significant personal information that is so extensive it cannot be blamed on ordinary forgetfulness. there can also be micro-amnesias where the discussion engaged in is not remembered, or the content of a meaningful conversation is forgotten from one second to the next.
IDENTITY CONFUSION or IDENTITY ALTERATION. both of these involve a sense of confusion about who a person is. an example of identity confusion is when a person has trouble defining the things that interest them in life, or their political or religious or social viewpoints, or their sexual orientation, or their professional ambitions. in addition to these apparent alterations, the person may experience distortions in time, place, and situation.
it first started when daniel died. depersonalization - an out of body experience, feeling detached from one’s body. she watched in horror as daniel’s heart was ripped out and then crushed in to dust. at first, she didn’t understand. it happened so fast but to regina, it happened in slow motion. then daniel fell and regina screamed, and she came too.
it happened frequently after that. in season one, “the stable boy”, at the end of the episode regina is being fitted for her dress. if you look at her, she looks completely out of it. as if she’s not really there. she’s not really paying attention to what snow white is telling her until she mentions telling cora about regina and daniel. something snaps in her then. we get the first glimpse of what will one day be the evil queen in that scene where she looks away from snow white, processes what was said, and then transforms on screen ( in the commentary, you can hear adam and eddy talk about it with lana, about how that’s how she gets in to character usually off-scene ) - when regina walks away, she is a completely different person. it doesn’t last long, but it is a glimpse.
it happened the most during her marriage to the king. she would disassociate herself with her surroundings. it was almost automatic, the way she would smile and the things she would say. no one paid her much attention beyond being a pretty thing on leopold’s arm, so it wasn’t out of the ordinary for her to stare of in to space, completely lost.
the amnesia aspect also comes in to play here, as well as at some points in time during her reign as the evil queen. but during her time in leopold’s bed, she would often lose track of time and after long enough, she started to black out what she would go through. she remembers the first few nights, but anything after that, she doesn’t recall.
as the evil queen, she found it difficult to remember faces and names, especially of those she victimised ( re. season three, “snow drifts” and “there’s not place like home” - she didn’t even remember having held marion as the evil queen, or when she met her again in the diner )
identity confusion and identity alteration come in to play with the evil queen. though i have not seen the episodes themselves, season six includes the evil queen as a separate entity to regina mills. to regina, the evil queen is someone else entirely, and not really a part of who she is. it is my opinion that the real regina lost sight of who she really was and what she believed in, and the evil queen was born. nurtured by both rumplestiltskin and her growing resentment of snow white, the evil queen came to life the moment leopold died. regina is a completely different person from before his death compared to after it. she’s not nearly as deranged as she is in later years, but that comes with time and isolation and addiction ( magic )…
magic absolutely is an addiction. once you learn it, you can’t let it go without serious consequences. it has always been my headcanon that if you were born with magic, you cannot survive without it. for example, rumplestiltskin and cora were both given magic. but regina, emma and zelena were born with it. despite canon information, it is my opinion that if cut off from their magic or if their magic is taken away from them, born magic-users would get very sick and could possibly die. it is a part of who they are. taking it away is as good as taking away their soul. it can be locked inside you, and once it is released it is near impossible to put back away.
it’s affect on you depends on how you use it, and with rumplestiltskin feeding the evil queen’s magic with his own influence, it heightened regina’s reliance on it.
during the curse, magic still existed in storybrooke, regina just did not have access to it. it was still there though, and it was enough to keep regina’s addiction sated.
after regina’s failed execution and the subsequent result ( her inability to directly hurt snow white ), regina’s desperation only grew stronger and so the queen’s delusion grew to match. regina does remember most of her actions as the evil queen, but some things she completely forgets until she sees it in her sleep and she wakes up screaming.
though she does originally feel like the evil queen is a completely different person, that does not mean that she denies responsibility for her. she knows what she’s done but she justifies it as, in a nutshell, karma.
when the curse is cast, regina is finally free of the enchanted forest, the crown and the queen. it’s easy to slip in to the role of mayor mills and completely ignore the monster that still resided under her skin. she put the evil queen aside, and didn’t think about her until the book came to be, henry started to pull away, and emma swan came to storybrooke.
this is where regina first started to dig her nails in to her palms again. it was the only way she could think of to control her more malicious instincts and she didn’t want to release the evil queen when she had other options to consider.
regina has a temper that she was both born with, and built on as the evil queen. she’d always been stubborn, and she had always been hot-headed, but in her youth she was very submissive, and so she bit her tongue. as the queen, she didn’t have to, so she took advantage of that. in storybrooke, she had to relearn how to control herself otherwise she would completely lose it.
** in my characterisation, my main storybrooke verse regina has not yet come to terms with the evil queen and has not accepted her as a part of herself. until she does that, the evil queen is another entity sharing regina’s body that she has difficulty controlling.
EXTRA INFORMATION. as mentioned in my rules, regina took an infertility potion not long after marrying the king, to ensure she did not fall pregnant with an unwanted baby. this is canon information for both main verse one and main verse two. regina does not like to talk about it and will become hostile if it is ever mentioned to her, the possibility of her ever having a biological child. in “regina’s rising”, cora mentions only wanting the best for regina, and then tells her that she will understand when she has her on children. regina then starts to think about it and decides that she would rather marry an older prince than have a child, because she is absolutely terrified about what kind of mother she would be. obviously, she overcomes that fear when she adopts henry. but there is still that inkling of insecurity and self-doubt when she takes henry back to the adoption agency and considers giving him up - not just because she learns he’s the savior’s son, but because she doesn’t think she has it in her to raise him right. later, henry’s continued insistence that she is nothing but evil and his manipulations of her dredge up all that insecurity and it hurts her deeply.

Chapter Two
His hands wouldn’t stop shaking. Hands. Plural. As in, he had two of them again. How?
Was it a side effect of Regina’s curse or from his being...
The Dark One.
The bloody Dark One.
I’m the bloody Dark One!
It had all come back in a rush. Fast and sporadic flashes of memories - his memories - that told the story of his long life. A life that spanned centuries, and yet the truth of it had hit him in an instant. The truth of who he truly was.
Killian Jones.
Orphan.
Slave.
Lieutenant.
Pirate.
Captain Hook.
Dark One.
Killian shuddered at that final memory, and then panic seized him once again. He spun around surveying the room, expecting the Crocodile to manifest himself at any moment with his mocking and jeering. But he hadn’t appeared. Not in the bar. Not on the long walk home. Not even now as Killian paced the length of his manor.
Why?
‘This new realm is a land without magic’, he remembered suddenly. Regina’s words, just before she’d solicited him to kill her mother, echoing in his ear.
A Land Without Magic.
‘Where The Dark One will be stripped of his power.’
For the first time in what seemed like hours Killian took a deep, steadying breath. The Dark One had no power in this land. He had no power in this land. Even still, Killian could feel the rage, the anguish, and the all encompassing darkness he’d felt in that clearing. The memory of their collective presence haunting him more severely than any of his other demons ever had.
And even if they now lay dormant within him, it didn’t change one other fact… he was still Captain Hook. A villain in his own right. A scourge and a scoundrel out for only one thing. Revenge.
Killian pressed his fingers onto the now vacant space on his forearm. Milah.
Revenge had been his, but at what cost?
He’d become the very thing he hated the most. The very thing she hated most. Rumplestiltskin may not have been The Dark One when they’d been together, but Killian had seen it in her eyes when he’d told her of his run in with her husband turned Dark One on the docks; the loathing at what he’d become coursing through her.
For centuries Killian had justified his own depravity and darkness because it was all in pursuit of avenging her. He believed that she’d understand, would offer him absolution for his actions because the ends would justify the means. But now…
Now all he felt was shame. Shame at what he’d become, and thankful to all the gods that she had not lived to see how far he’d fallen in his quest for vengeance. And not just Milah, but Liam as well.
Liam.
Killian clasped at the chain hanging from his neck, but knew it would not hold what he sought. Liam’s ring. What had become of it? What had become of all his possessions? His hook, his coat, his sword, his…
Dagger.
The Dark One dagger.
It had been in his hand when the curse hit, and even though he knew it no longer had the power to control him (at least, that is, as long as Regina’s curse and the lack of magic in this land kept The Dark Ones at bay) he in no way wanted it in anyone else’s possession other than his own.
Killian tore the manor apart in his search, upending rooms he had no memory of ever even entering before. Memories of his cursed life interspersed with his real life. Bloody hell, leave it to Regina to over complicate matters. As if three hundred years of his own memories weren’t enough for his mind to contend with, now he had twenty-eight years of practically the same day recurring over and over again in his head. The only detail making the days distinct from one another was Henry.
Henry. He knew.
The lad knew about the curse. He’d mentioned it before, his suspicions that the stories in the book his teacher had given him were true. Killian had recognized it as a coping mechanism, a way for the lad to try and escape the reality of his unhappy life. A way to ground himself to something more hopeful.
Killian now understood why Henry Mills had come to mean so much to him. He was a lost boy, just like Killian.
On some level Killian had recognized that trait in Henry, even as he had forgotten his true self. It’s probably what had prompted him to suggest that the boy seek out information about his birth parents in the first place. Of course, he never considered that Henry would actually run off in search of the woman who’d given birth to him. But seek her out, the lad had, and her presence in Storybrooke had already begun to change things.
The mystery of why her name broke the spell he had been under notwithstanding, Killian knew he’d only just scratched the surface of the intrigue Emma Swan possessed. But he couldn’t focus on that now. On her. He had a dagger to find and a secret to keep.
As Emma dressed the next morning, and thought about stopping at the diner for breakfast, she heard a knock on the door. Answering it revealed Regina with a basket of apples in hand, and a fake smile plastered on her face. Great, I have to deal with her crap before I’ve even had the chance to drink my first cup of coffee? Just great. Before Emma could manage a polite hello, Regina thrust an apple toward her and started in on some random spiel.
“Did you know the honeycrisp tree is the most vigorous and hardy of all apple trees? It can survive temperatures as low as 40 below and keep growing. It can weather any storm. I have one that I've tended to since I was a little girl, and to this day I have yet to taste anything more delicious than the fruit it offers.”
“Thanks,” Emma responded dubiously as she took the proffered apple Regina extended to her, still clutching her cup in her right hand.
“I'm sure you'll enjoy them on your drive home.” Regina tried to hand over the full basket of apples, but Emma took a half step backward, refusing to reach out for it.
“Actually, I'm gonna stay for a while.”
A brief flicker of anger and agitation crossed Regina’s face at Emma’s declaration and refusal before she schooled her features into a mask of pleasant nonchalance. “I'm not sure that's such a good idea. Henry has enough issues. He doesn't need you confusing him.”
“All due respect, Madam Mayor, the fact that you have now threatened me twice in the last twelve hours makes me want to stay more.”
“Since when were apples a threat?”
“I can read between the lines. Sorry. I just want to make sure Henry's okay.”
“He's fine, dear. Any problems he has are being taken care of.”
A concern for Henry’s well being swelled within her chest at Regina’s words, prompting her to ask, “What does that mean?”
“It means I have him in therapy. It's all under control. Take my advice, Ms. Swan, only one of us knows what's best for Henry.”
That’s right, Emma thought. She remembered meeting Henry’s therapist the other night when she brought him back to Storybrooke, he was the kind man that had given her directions to Regina’s place. She remembered as a sense of relief flooded through her that Regina wasn’t referring to something more sinister. Great I’m starting to think like Henry, she’s not the Evil Queen, just a concerned parent, most likely a bad parent, but concerned nonetheless.
“Yeah, I'm starting to think you're right about that.” Emma didn’t miss the glare Regina sent her way at that comment.
“It's time for you to go.”
“Or what?” Emma challenged.
“Don't underestimate me, Ms. Swan. You have no idea what I'm capable of.” Considering that the end of the disturbing conversation, Emma shut the door without another word to Regina, and locked it before going back to getting ready for the day.
Thirty minutes later, Emma found herself perched at the counter in Granny’s diner. Perusing the menu, she debated what to order, when Ruby set down a hot chocolate with cinnamon and whipped cream in front of her.
“Here you go.”
“Thank you, but I didn’t order that.”
“Yeah, I know. You have an admirer.” At that comment, Emma turned and tried to tamp down the hope that it might be from a certain blue eyed gentleman who had haunted her dreams the night before, only to see Sheriff Humbert. Her disappointment swelled within her as she picked up the cocoa and approached his table, intending to let the poor man down gently.
“Ah, so you decided to stay.”
Was it really that much of a surprise to him? “Observant, important for a cop.”
“It's good news for our tourist business. It's bad for our local signage.” Graham looked a little uncomfortable with the awkward pause as his joke fell flat. “It's... it's a joke. Because you ran over our sign.”
The only immediate response she can muster is to roll her eyes at his terrible attempt at a joke. “Look, the cocoa was a nice gesture, and I am impressed that you guessed that I like cinnamon on my chocolate, 'cause most people don't, but I am not here to flirt, so thank you, but, no thank you.” Gently placing the cup on the table, she considers whether or not she would have accepted it from a different, accented man.
“I didn't send it.”
“I did. I like cinnamon, too.”
Her head shot towards the front table by the window at the sound of Henry’s voice. How did I not see him there earlier? “Don't you have school?”
“Duh. I'm ten. Walk me.”
He’s definitely my kid with that eyeroll. Without so much as another look at the sheriff, Emma placed a hand on Henry’s shoulder and began steering him out the door towards the bus stop.
Killian stopped abruptly in the back hallway of the diner as he watched the Swan girl and Henry make their way out of the diner and along the sidewalk that led to the bus stop. He was going to have to come up with some sort of excuse for avoiding Henry, as he was not quite ready to bring himself to lie to the boy by keeping up with his cursed facade in the lad’s presence. For now, he had a more pressing issue at hand; one he hoped the good Sheriff might be able to assist him with.
Killian prided himself on possessing a stealth that served him well in keeping people on their toes, or catching them off guard with his approach, but he’d never been able to get a jump on the Sheriff. The man somehow always knew when Killian, or anyone else, was approaching him, he seemed to have a sixth sense about him. In light of Killian’s regained memories he wondered just who Graham was back in their realm, and what the man would say if he knew that it was the infamous Captain Hook, or The Dark One for that matter, that was making himself welcome in his booth.
“Good morning, Mr. Jones. Something I can assist you with?” the Sheriff questioned, his disdain only slightly veiled in his tone.
“Actually, Sheriff. I’ve come to do my civic duty as a responsible citizen and business owner,” Killian replied as he placed a hand gun on the table between them, causing the Sheriff to tense momentarily before Killian could add, “I found it at the docks. Thought it best to turn it in to the proper authorities.”
The truth was Killian had found it during the search of his home overnight. Guns, knives, legal documents, and all manner of possessions had been uncovered. While not completely inconsistent with his nature, the items weren’t altogether authentic to who he was, cursed or otherwise, either, and no dagger had been found among them. It was only after he’d felt certain that no location within his home had been overlooked that Killian began to consider where within the town he might continue his search.
The stash of weapons he’d found concealed in various rooms had led him to the idea that the dagger may lay unclaimed within the Sheriff’s station. Not wanting to tip the lawman’s suspicions any further than they would be prone to, Killian had devised the ruse of turning over the firearm in hopes of naturally opening up the opportunity to question Graham about unclaimed blades.
“You found it?” Graham questioned suspiciously.
“Aye.”
“At the docks?”
“Aye.”
“And you’re just turning it in?”
“Would you rather I not?” Killian quipped inquiringly. “Too much paperwork involved, or are you running out of room to store unclaimed weapons at the Sheriff’s station?”
“We don’t have any unclaimed weapons at the station,” Graham admitted, unaware that he’d just provided the pirate with the very information he sought.
Damn! Killian cursed to himself. He’d have to continue his search elsewhere.
“Right. Well, first time for everything I suppose. I’ll leave you to it then, Sheriff.”
Killian exited the booth and took purposeful strides toward the door. He ran through his mental list of potential locations the dagger could be hiding, as he made his way to the sidewalk a flash of blonde curls and red leather caught his eye. He watched Emma make her way through the door that led up to Dr. Hopper’s office, or according to Henry, Jiminy Cricket’s office, and was once again struck by the urgent pull he felt toward the beguiling woman.
Shaking off such fanciful notions he turned himself towards the docks. He had a dagger to find and a day of searching through warehouses, offices, and his beloved Jolly Roger ahead of him.
Emma lounged on her bed at the B&B as she scoured the files that Dr. Hopper had given her about Henry. So far nothing was jumping out at her, but she wasn’t completely sure what she was looking for. She wasn’t a therapist, and until about three days ago she hadn’t considered herself a parent either. Not that she did even now that Henry was in her life.
A sharp knock at the door added to her current disgruntled state. When she found Sheriff Humbert on the other side she couldn’t help the sarcastic greeting that fell from her lips.
“Hey there. If you're concerned about the Do not disturb signs, don't worry, I've left them alone.”
“Actually, I'm here about Dr. Archibald Hopper. He mentioned you got into a bit of a row with him earlier?”
“No,” Emma clipped firmly as she placed her hands on her hips in annoyance.
“I was shocked, too, given your shy, delicate sensibilities,” Graham mocked, earning him an eyeroll. “He says you demanded to see Henry's files and when he refused, you came back and stole them.”
“He gave them to me.”
“Alas, he's telling a different tale. May I check your room, or must I get a search warrant?”
Unbelievable. Emma turned and allowed Graham to enter. There was no point in delaying the inevitable.
“Is this what you're looking for?” she asked, gesturing to the numerous papers scattered across the bed.
“Well, you're very accommodating,” Graham needled as he picked up a few papers before delivering the news Emma had been waiting for, even as she reeled at the outrageousness of it all. “I'm afraid, Ms. Swan, you're under arrest. Again.”
“You know I'm being set up, don't you?” It was more a statement than a question as Graham affixed cuffs to her wrists.
“And who, may I ask, is setting you up?”
Emma continued to proclaim her innocence, casting accusations at Regina all the way from the B&B to the Sheriff Station. She questioned Graham about Regina’s hold and influence on the town even as he booked her.
“Regina may be a touch intimidating, but I don't think she'd go as far as a frame job,” Graham argued.
“How far would she go? What does she have her hands in?”
“Well, she's the Mayor. She has her hands in everything.”
“Including the police force?” Emma accused.
“Hey,” an excited voice echoed from the hallway.
“Henry, what are you doing here?” Graham asked.
“His mother told him what happened,” Mary Margaret supplied, having accompanied Henry to the station from school.
“Of course she did,” Emma exasperated as she stared pointedly at Graham before addressing her son with a bit of trepidation. “Henry, I don't know what she said-”
“You're a genius,” Henry interrupted.
“What?”
“I know what you were up to. You were gathering intel for Operation Cobra,” Henry speculated with hushed excitement.
“I'm sorry. I'm a bit lost,” Graham confessed.
“It's need-to-know, sheriff,” Henry said dismissively, “and all you need to know is that Ms. Blanchard's gonna bail her out.”
“You are? Why?” Emma questioned incredulously.
“I, uh, trust you,” the petite woman stated skittishly.
Looking between Henry’s smug face and Mary Margaret’s quiet understanding Emma felt her need for retribution spike as she turned to Graham with her hands out in front of her.
“Well, if you would uncuff me, I have something to do.”
Killian aimlessly wandered along the streets of Storybrooke, having had no success in locating the dagger. Though, he had uncovered more intriguing items that would require his attention and focus once the bloody damned blade was back in his possession.
He was starting to wonder if the infernal thing had come over in the curse at all. For all he knew, it remained in the Enchanted Forest sealed away in the vault he had emerged from after the Crocodile’s death. The only way Killian could be truly sure was to either keep searching and find the bloody thing or march into the Mayor’s office and ask Her Majesty. The latter option was not one he was willing to entertain, so he continued his trek as he ticked off all the locations he’d already explored.
Not in the manor, not at the Sheriff’s station, no sign of it in any of my usual hiding places within the Jolly. The warehouses and dock offices were a bust as well. Perhaps I should… what is that blasted noise!
The sound of a motor cut through Killian’s internal mutterings as he realized he was just across the street from the Town Hall. His curiosity piqued at the unusual sound, Killian made his way towards the building’s courtyard to investigate, but then quickly had to find a place to tuck himself away as he saw the Evil Queen exit the building.
“What the hell are you doing?!” the mayor exclaimed as she rushed across the courtyard towards the racket that continued to permeate the area.
A racket, that Killian could now see was being caused by the lovely Emma. She was wielding a chainsaw, ruthlessly plundering the Mayor’s prized apple tree as she made a quip about picking apples. Now, more than just Killian’s curiosity was piqued at the sight before him.
“You're out of your mind.”
“No, you are, if you think a shoddy frame job's enough to scare me off.”
Frame job? What else have I missed? Killian wondered.
“You're gonna have to do better than that. You come after me one more time, I'm coming back for the rest of this tree. Because, sister, you have no idea what I'm capable of.”
Killian watched as Swan violently tossed the chainsaw aside and challenged, “Your move,” before stomping away. A fresh appreciation for the tough lass washed over him. So, she and the Queen are at odds, then? Not surprising, he supposed, Regina’s at odds with everyone in this accursed town.
Just as Killian was preparing to extricate himself from the dark cluster of shrubbery he’d hidden away in, Sheriff Humbert pulled up in his police cruiser, no doubt having received a complaint about the noise of the chainsaw. Killian decided to remain tucked away for their exchange. Treasure and priceless commodities came in many forms, none more valuable in his experience than good, old fashioned gossip. Information that one could use against one’s enemies was a prize worth harboring in the bushes for.
Killian patiently listened as Regina expressed her desire to once again have Swan arrested, only to have the Sheriff question the effectiveness of such an action, even as he inferred his suspicions that Emma had, indeed, been set-up for her earlier transgressions.
“I think your schoolboy crush is clouding your judgment,” Regina barbed accusingly at the Sheriff.
The accusation caused a spark of rage to ignite in Killian’s chest, he bit back a growl that threatened to reverberate from within. Taken aback by having such a fierce response to the implication that Graham may harbor feelings for the same woman who had so ensnared him, Killian nearly missed the remainder of their exchange.
“You want me to arrest her again, I will,” Graham complied.
“Good.”
“But she's gonna keep coming at you, and I know you, you're gonna keep going at her, and you will do whatever it takes to get her out of here and you may succeed-”
“No, I will succeed. He's my son. It's what's best for him.”
Killian could barely contain the scathing retort that burned his throat, knowing now just how manipulative and cruel the woman had been in regards to the boy.
“I know that's what you believe,” Graham stated sympathetically, “but if this escalates, it seems to me the only one who will get hurt is Henry.”
Killian watched as Graham departed, leaving both he and Regina to stew in their thoughts of how the repercussions of Emma’s presence in Storybrooke would ultimately affect the boy. Even with the gut-wrenching realization of his true self, and the knowledge of what lay dormant just beneath his surface, Killian could not bring himself to resent Henry for bringing his birth mother there, and ultimately waking him from his cursed state. She was changing things, and Killian believed that such changes would only benefit Henry. It was apparent, however, that Her Majesty did not share this sentiment.
“There has got to be a way of getting rid of that woman without Henry blaming me,” Regina muttered to herself, as she passed Killian’s hiding spot. “If ever there was a time I needed my powers… wait-”
Killian’s attention sharpened at Regina’s mention of her powers. I thought this was a land without magic?
“Perhaps that little imp had something stashed away. Somehow my curse failed to bring him over, but perhaps there is something in the pawn shop that could be of use.” Regina’s speculations prompted her to abandon her immediate concerns for the mangled tree, and Killian watched as she rushed back into her office building - presumably to grab her purse and keys.
The Crocodile. Regina didn’t realize the truth of just why the curse had failed to deliver Rumplestiltskin to this land. But she believed something useful of his might be hidden away within the abandoned pawn shop?
Killian began to wonder whether or not a certain item he’d been in search of might be located there as well. He was at a disadvantage, seeing as he was on foot and Regina would have her car to get her there ahead of him, so Killian wasted no time in making his way back towards Main Street, hoping against hope that her search would not lead to the dagger before he arrived.

Midoriya Kou - character details
For a few weeks now, I was thinking about making posts in which I will describe my OCs and will add other interesting information about them. I mean, I am pretty sure that from my writing, most people didn’t gather much... so this way I want to disclose my characters to my readers. Charts will be gradually updated as I’ll write next chapters so be prepared for spoilers.
I will sometimes use links to pictures or I will mention other anime characters for you to get better idea of what I have in mind. I don’t want to post directly what people made without their consent and I am too shy to ask them for it.
Now, let’s start by my most successful OC so far: Kou from Abyss!
Introduction
Midoriya Kou is main character of my Boku no Hero Academia fanfiction named Abyss. From the name most can already guess that she is relative of protagonist from BnHA - more precisely she is his twin sister. As such they are the same age and until the end of Primary school they were always together. Before starting Junior High she moved away to their grandparent’s house and started to attend different school than her twin. However, she came back to live with her mother and twin once she finished her Junior High school.
The meaning of the name Kou I use in this fanfiction is ‘light’ and I actually do have a reason why I used this meaning (I actually have more than one, but that would spoil more than I am okay with). It is supposed to represent that in her second life she was given chance to live in ‘light’ while most of her past life was spent in ‘dark'. If she actually takes this chance fully and stays in light or if she gazed into abyss for too long to be able to stay, remains a mystery for now~.
Past life
Kou is reincarnated OC and remembers most of her past life, but as she never saw anime or read manga, she doesn’t know that she was reincarnated into anime world.
There is not much to say about her past family as she was unplanned/unwanted child and her parents didn’t really like her, but they at least took care of her basic necessities. Though they, along with other people she sometimes interacted with, cut all ties with her after she ended up in prison.
When she was 10 years old, she met Theo. Who, after short while, became her best friend and at the same time the most important person to her. She spent her next eight years pulling him out of troubles that he got himself into because of his kind and virtuous personality. However, few weeks after she turned eighteen, Theo died in her arms. Losing all her reason, she tried to kill the one responsible, only to end in jail.
Once she got out, she firstly gathered money, experience and information, moving around in darker side of the world. Once she was sure she was prepared enough, she successfully killed the person responsible for Theo’s death and then... well she just did whatever. Not really happy about living, but not wanting to die either. She worked as courier, transporting various things that are best not to be specified.
Then, she died when she was thirty after making a novice mistake and ended up being reborn. Her second chance as Midoriya Kou started!
Appearance
Because she is twin of Izuku, she is very similar to him in appearance. However, there are several differences between this pair of twins.
The first being their hair. While Kou’s hair is very curled, it isn’t to the point where it can’t be tamed. She usually makes one or two braids out of it, because she doesn’t have patience with long hair (she only let her hair grow because her mother liked it that way), but when she does let it free, it is just ‘curly’ and it doesn’t stand into all directions like her brother’s tends to. However when she combs it... she ends up resembling a poodle (she is still unaware that all she has to do, to not resemble this dog, is not comb her hair, thus she stays with braiding). Anyway, her hair is lighter than her brother’s but not by much. I’d say the color would be something like this. That’s probably all for hair. (If you can’t visualize how she looks with braids, this is pretty close to my image).
The next is that while Izuku has few freckles under his eyes, Kou’s cheeks and nose are completely sprayed with them. Her mother thinks it look cute and Kou is like ‘Meh’.
She is taller than Izuku by quite a lot in their early teen years, but by the time of High school the difference evens up a little, because of his growth spurt, however she is still taller than him by few inches.
Their face shapes and eyes are similar, though Kou looks more ‘harsh’, probably because of her ever present scowl and glare.
Personality
Calling Kou antisocial would be an understatement of a millennium. She doesn’t do ‘friendly’ stuff and for most cases she doesn’t even do ‘civil’ stuff. But to not be so harsh on her, if she is in a good mood and if the person in question didn’t offend her in any way, she can be fairly mild towards them.
However, mostly, she is just rude person who glares at everyone that aren’t part of her ‘okay group’ - into which is nearly impossible to get as that person either had to be very persistent or they have to strike her weak points (one of them being sweets).
Thus she is considered unapproachable and ‘run on sight’ person. The rumors that circulate around, labeling her as delinquent certainly don’t help with this image. She does nothing about them as; 1) she doesn’t care and 2) they are kind of true... She can’t help that she likes to fight, okay??
Her bad points don’t end here, too. She can be easily angered and is very hot-tempered when It comes to her brother. Her morals are also a little screwed because of her past life. And she sometimes seems to think very lowly of herself even if she denies such a fact.
But, in the core, she isn’t a bad person. If she sees someone in need and it won’t bring her much trouble, she is willing to help them. She would never kill a person without reason. And when she considers somebody family or friend, if someone hurts him/her, they’ll have her hot on their heels, roaring and fuming for revenge.
She can also be quite reasonable and is able to think things through if situation calls for it (and if the situation in question doesn’t involve her brother). Her realist part sometimes brings her more trouble than anything as she is easily confused when someone behaves in a way she wasn’t expecting and can even freak out if the situation suddenly goes beyond her understanding and control.
She has soft spots for animals and sometimes for kids, if they aren’t annoying brats and can do killing puppy-dog eyes.
Kou can also be pretty stubborn when she sets her mind onto something - it can be viewed as good trait in some cases.
Relationships
Family Her family consists of her, her twin brother and mother. Father isn’t around for most of time because of ‘mysterious reasons’. After twins reached one year this little family was extended after their grandparents were introduced. Her mother is supposed to have an older sister, but her aunty still didn’t make an appearance.
Midoriya Izuku (Kou either calls him Izuku or otouto) She has best relationship with her brother as she decided early on that he will be her most important person in this new life. However, still remembering what happened to Theo (and seeing so much of him in Izuku), she ended up doting on her brother and being very protective of him. To the point where it was unbearable for him and he ended up ‘blowing up’ after bottling everything for some time. Even if she decided to move away for Junior High, their relationship didn’t worsen and she is still in ‘doting’ mode whenever they call/text each other. She tries to restrain herself a bit, however.
Midoriya Inko (called mom) Her relationship with her mom is very easy-going and pleasant. She loves her mother very much, but while she does see Inko as her mother, she can’t bring herself to depend on her the way child should, because she is mentally older than her. Inko is aware that the older of twins is different in many ways, but is very understanding and doesn’t force her to behave like normal kid, instead she accepts that her daughter is just special. She is sometimes sad that she isn’t depended on more, but all the more she treasures those rare times she can help her with something (for example how to use quirk).
Midoriya Aihi (called granny) Their start was pretty rocky as granny was mean to Inko and that wasn’t something Kou could stand. In the end, it turns out that Aihi is even more socially inept than Kou (and that’s quite a feat). Their relationship now is quite good as they share their love for drawing and as fellow unsociable individual, Aihi could be quite understanding at times. However Kou’s grandma is also very traditional woman and is easily displeased when Kou behaves ’unlady-like’. She started to teach proper manners to Kou from very young age to nurture a proper lady out of her, but as of now she gave up. Instead she changed her lessons as is now trying to make a good housewife out of Kou.
Midoriya Manabu (called grandpa) Not much I can really say about their relationship as he spends most of time with Izuku (he always wanted a son). He is kind to her and doesn’t ignore her and when they talk with each other it’s enjoyable for both, but they don’t have any need to seek each other all the time when they are in the same house.
Midoriya Hisashi (called father) He dosn’t spent a lot of time with his family as his work is pretty time consuming and also if his relation to them were to be known, they could be put into danger. Kou has neutral feelings towards him (though she is pretty peeved that he left his wife like that) as she can’t really guess his reason for not being with his family (and still sending money). She always have near her bed the cat keychain he gave her (Izuku got one, too), though.
Friends As I said before, Kou isn’t very friendly individual. One can even wonder why would someone want to be her friend, but surprisingly she has quite a lot of friends??? As of now, her friends include: Akaguro Chizome, Bakugo Katsuki, Ashido Mina, Shiozaki Ibara. And next chapter one other person will appear...
Akaguro Chizome (usually rudely called ‘Chizome’) More known to readers as ‘Stain’. Yes, I did this. Anyway what I want people to know first, is the fact that they met each other when Chizome was still very young and ‘unstained’ (heh... unstained... stain... get it?) by killing. In canon he would have already started to train his body few months before his parents died and their deaths would only cement the idea of killing (at least I am going with this reasoning, his past is very vague). But, he is different in this FF. He met Kou and while some may see what she did for him as ‘small things’, even those small things could make big differences. Anyway, so, he sees her like weird little girl that he can’t help but to be fond of and I suppose he sees her sorta like his little sister. And Kou? Well she is just like ‘Meh, I suppose now it’s too late to erase him completely from my life. He is here to stay I guess.’ But secretly she totally likes him (not in romantic way, mind you).
Bakugo Katsuki (nicknamed ‘shorty’ by Kou, sometimes called Katsuki) Hah. I personally very enjoy their relationship. They started as enemies/rivals/nemesis whatever you want to call them. They fought each other every time they met and Izuku was just standing there, in the middle (as Katsuki’s best friend and Kou’s twin), slowly developing a ‘totally done with your sh*t’ attitude. As time went, they somehow became friends and the number of fights lessened (mainly because Katsuki interacted with too much damn brats in kindergarten and she would never go near those kinds of crowds. Never again). As Kou took it upon her to reduce Katsuki’s ego every time she met him, he grew up to be different from canon. He is more closer to Izuku than he was in anime/manga and he is also a lot calmer (though with Kou being away from three years, he will probably become a little wild). He is more like the Katsuki in later chapters of manga. More serious, mature and well... certainly not a bully. Doesn’t mean he isn’t loud, arrogant, swearing brat, though - I don’t want to take this from him, he is very interesting character in canon, if he just wasn’t such a bully... Well anyway. Some people (read most) think that just because Kou won’t be here for a while, he will start to bully Izuku and be overall shit he was in canon. Nope. Not happening. I love Katsuki I made in my fanfiction, thank you very much. He will become even more violent and loud, though...
Ashido Mina (called Mina) The newest addition into a gang and simultaneously the strangest one. She abruptly appeared, confused the hell out of our poor Kou, somehow managed to push her into socializing and then squeezed out a promise of meeting everyday during lunch break out of Kou. All of this in only few minutes. Scary girl. Even I, as an author, was surprised by her sudden appearance. She just pushed herself into my fanfiction. Very scary girl indeed. Ah well, anyway, her actions remains a mystery to all residents of Earth. She is future BFF of Kou.
Shiozaki Ibara (called Ibara) I needed someone to pair up with Kou for school things in Primary school and also for Kou to not look so unsociable... heh. And well, Ibara just happened to be that person. I don’t have their relationship fleshed enough as I came over the primary days pretty fast. I can only say that while they are sort of friends, they aren’t close... The both have more important friends.
Kirishima Eijiro (called Eijiro) Their relationship is difficult to explain as she doesn’t want to do anything with him as she thinks of him as ‘weird’ and all he wants is to be friends with this ‘girl with manly heart’. Also he kind of has a small crush on her which creeps Kou out even more and makes Mina laugh her ass off.
Love interests  Ah well, this is added because I know some will want to know this in the future (or already want). So just saying this now: This fanfiction will probably be without any romance. I can make small ‘teases’ or crack pairings and probably some fluff, but there will be no actual romance. The thing is, I see Kou as aromantic person as while she can have platonic feelings. she can’t be romantically interested in anyone. There is also this thing that she is mostly 30+ years older than her peers (or at least her mind is) and is very much aware of it. So yeah, probably no romance.
Special traits
Quirk Kou inherited her mom’s quirk - attraction. However while Inko can only attract smaller, lighter object, Kou is capable to attract heavier objects. As long as they are lighter than her she is able to attract them towards her (though heavier object are harder to attract). Also, when the object is heavier than her, she is instead the one pulled towards it, though the landing is very uncomfortable and she has problems landing on her legs. Kou likes to experiment with her quirk, so she is capable to do a lot of things with it now - she can attract things to her so fast untrained eye can’t catch it or on the other side she can make it go to her so slowly that it nearly looks like it isn’t moving. She can also pull people towards her, but only if they are lighter than her (it’s the reason why she makes sure to weight more than Izuku - she wants to always have the possibility of having him near her). She never tried to attract towards heavier people - the collision would surely be painful. She also likes to attract pointy things to her randomly - certainly doesn’t help her image, as anyone can guess.
Fighting style In her past life Kou used to fight a lot and she still retails memories of her fighting style, though she had to alter it a little because her current body doesn’t have and probably would never have, as much strength as her past had. She usually hits the most vulnerable and painful areas to quickly immobilize the person she fights, using her smaller and usually more flexible body to attack from directions other party isn’t expecting. This style requires her to know human body quite well - she doesn’t regret all those long weeks spent on remembering each part of a body, it was quite satisfying to know more about one subject than most people. She is currently trying to incorporate her quirk into her style, too, and it is going quite well - others don’t expect things to fly at them from different directions when they fight someone. She also doesn’t mind playing dirty - spitting, biting, targeting crotch isn’t above her. Both Katsuki and Chizome were unfortunate enough to learn this first hand. While she was quite skilled in using knifes in past - she didn’t really had any chance to use knife in her new life as for her, using knife means she wants to kill the other person. She, however, always has pocket knife on her. Just in case.
Likes & Dislikes & Hobbies
Likes She likes to eat sweet things. A lot. It’s practically the only thing she spends her pocket money on. Strawberry flavored ones are best, but others are cool, too. She likes every person in her ‘okay group’, her family and her cat named ‘Miss Cat’ (Did I already mentioned that she has the worst naming sense? No? Well then, I am saying it now). Her new homeroom teacher is okay. Every type of vehicle is cool to her, but cars and motorcycles the most. She enjoys driving, but altering them and rummaging through them is fun too. Her favorite subjects in school are English, Physical Education, Art and Physic. She surprisingly finds Math okay in this life, maybe because she never paid proper attention to it in past life. She likes to wear comfortable clothes, that don't restrict her movements.
Dislikes She dislikes vegetables, but she eats them without protesting. Though she very much refuses to even touch broccoli. She doesn’t like practically everyone that aren’t in her ‘okay group’. But there are some specific groups of people she very much dislike with all her being. Those being bullies, people who annoy her deliberately, people who make fun of her brother and... her Primary homeroom teacher - she deserves her own group. Her most hated school subjects are Japanese language, Biology (only because of her Primary homeroom teacher), History and Geography. And school in general is a pain in the ass for her.  She refuses to wear frilly clothes and hates school uniforms with passion.   Her biggest fears are angering granny and bugs.  Also she isn’t a biggest fan of Grandma’s lessons.
Hobbies At the moment her hobbies include drawing (she enjoys drawing mangas), teasing Katsuki, fighting with random thugs, thinking up the most vicious revenges, hiding in a restroom and talking with her brother. Also as of last chapter her hobbies include engineering.

Located just 200 km to the South East of Rovaniemi and the Arctic Circle, Ruka is a thriving little village in Finnish Lapland.  Close to the Russian border, the landscape is stunning in winter with beautiful snow-capped forests and frozen lakes covered with deep powdery snow.  Ruka is famed for having snow for more than 200 days of the year, which is why the Ruka Village attracts so many winter tourists.   In March, snow clouds give way to clear blue skies and the low sunshine streams through the abundant pine forests.  Having visited Finnish Lapland in 2016, we knew what to expect from the weather and had high hopes for our planned excursions with Rukapalvelu Safarihouse; which included Ice Fishing in Ruka.

FREEZING, FISHING AND FLAT BATTERIES
Outside the temperature was -30°C and our first holiday excursion is Ice Fishing, or ‘Pilkki’ as it’s known in Finland; booked with Rukapalvelu Safarihouse for 09:00.  It’s extremely cold, it’s extremely early and it’s beginning to dawn on us that maybe Ice Fishing in Ruka wasn’t the best idea for the first morning of our holiday!  Nonetheless, we get dressed like onions with lots of layers in the hope of keeping the cold at bay.  Overnight there had been a flurry of snow and the car had to be cleared and defrosted.  Unfortunately, our cabin neighbour had parked in front of our Hertz hire car blocking us in.  Politely we asked them if they could move their car, they couldn’t…flat battery!  After jump starting the dead car we embarked on a short 15 minute journey to Rukapalvelu Safarihouse for Ice Fishing in Ruka.

IF THE SHOE FITS, WEAR IT…AND GLOVES, AND HATS
Rukapalvelu Safarihouse is situated right in the heart of Ruka and is the meeting point for all of their excursions.  At reception we were warmly greeted by Senja and introduced to Henri, who would be our Ice Fishing guide for the day; both of whom spoke perfect English.  Henri lead us to the back of the shop and informed us that we would have to put on even more clothes in order to keep warm whilst Ice Fishing in Ruka on the frozen lake.  Rukapalvelu Safarihouse provide all the clothing that you need for an excursion.

DRESS TO IMPRESS OR DRESS TO KEEP WARM, YOUR CHOICE
To add a little extra warmth, Henri advised us to wear our own clothes and simply add a Rukapalvelu Safarihouse snowsuit over the top for extra insulation.  Surprisingly, Henri also informed us that we would be swapping our own snug and comfy ski socks and boots for merino wool socks that your Granny would wear…and, as Henri put it; ‘boots that are far too big’!  I chose not to wear the socks as I have a ‘thing’ about feet (other peoples) and putting my own little piggy’s into other peoples socks or shoes…big no no!  There was a method in his madness!  If your boots are tight or snug, your feet get colder much quicker.  However, if you have space in the boot, air warms and circulates around the feet keeping them toasty.  Ice Fishing in Ruka tested this theory and yes, it works remarkably well!

P-P-P-PICK UP A PENGUIN
Wrapped up to the point that little Matilda was waddling like a p-p-p-penguin, and Lily-Belle was about to faint, we promptly jumped into the bus.  Our next stop…Ice Fishing on Lake Ruka.  You’ve all seen or heard of the Michelin Man right….well, enough said!  The sun was low and the wintry landscape of forests and lakes was stunning, even if it was -25°C .  Thankfully the day was calm and no breeze, which, no doubt; would have made it feel much colder on the frozen open lake.  I’ve done plenty of lake fishing in my time and know for certain that when it’s cold, fish tend to seek out deeper water.  With that in mind, and the fact that it was fr-fr-freezing cold, I was optimistic of catching at least one fish.  And just to note, Daddy and Mummy are hugely competitive so it really was game on!

ICE FISHING AT LAKE RUKA
On the open lake Henri produced a large manual ice auger (drill) to penetrate through the 60 cm thick ice.  Of course, Henri made it look easy so I had to have a go myself.  And, I was pleasantly surprised at how easy-but-tiring it actually was to make a hole in the ice.  After making 5 holes, a stool was placed beside each and we all found our spot.  Lunch for the fish would be little red maggots, and lunch for us would be fish…hopefully!  As each hook was baited and lowered through the ice hole into the lake, we sat chatting about Finland, its cultures, its folklore and of course, its weather.  Every now and then Ice Fishing in Ruka would cease briefly in order to remove ice that began to gather at the top of the ice hole.  20 minutes in…no fish!

ANGELS AND CASTLES
On top of the frozen lake there was plenty of soft snow to keep the girls occupied if they got bored of Ice fishing in Ruka.  Children…short attention span!  Matilda made merry in the fluffy snow by making snow-angels, and Lily-Belle attempted to make snow castles but the snow was too powdery.  Bump….Henri had a bite, but unfortunately the bite didn’t convert to a fish on this occasion, or the next, or the next!  I was beginning to think that there was a chap under the ice, employed by Rukapalvelu Safarihouse, to tug the line to maintain our Ice Fishing interest.  Of course, this thought would be improbable….wouldn’t it?  In turn we all got bites but we all failed to land any fish.
There’ always one that gets away, or two, or three
Now I know what a garden gnome feels like
THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY
After 90 minutes of fishing, Henri produced lunch…not fish, cheese on rye bread with hot berry juice and coffee.  Rye bread, if you haven’t tried it; is dry, hard and crusty.  But, in its favour is the flavour and the fact that it’s healthier than white bread.  I had an idea!  Back in the UK when I once fished for carp, I would often use bread as bait.  Thread the hook through the crust, then hide the hook in the bread flake.  Would I be able to tempt a roach or indeed any species of fish from the watery depths?  The bread bait was only in the water for seconds and bump, I had a decent fish on…gently, line tight and nooooooooo, fish off!  The one that got away…it was t h i i i i i i s (stood here with my arms outstretched) big!  Honest it was!

A BIG FISHY FAIL
Our Ice Fishing excursion drew to a close just as the wind was beginning to pick-up and the snow began to fall.  Ok, so we didn’t manage to land any fish (cold weather, fish move to deep water, I said it earlier) but we did have an amazing morning Ice Fishing in Ruka with Henri.  A great character, full of charm and he just loves to chat about his fishing trips.  Henri is a great ambassador of Rukapalvelu Safarihouse and a perfect host, plus he makes a great cup of ‘Joe’!

RIVER FLOATING IN RUKA
After returning to Rukapalvelu to return our clothing we took a short tour around Ruka Village.  The following day we’d be returning to Ruka Village for the girls to ski.  As we didn’t catch any ‘whoppers’ or indeed any fish whilst Ice Fishing in Ruka, we opted for lunch at Hanki Baari.  Simple wholesome food but delicious and in a cosy retro-ski environment.  I hasten to add that had we indeed caught any fish, it was strictly ‘catch and release’ so no fish would have been harmed.  On the way back to our cabin we came across a group of people on a River Floating excursion with Rukapalvelu Safarihouse.  I stopped to take photos and I really can’t wait to return and give this a try as it looks like so much fun!
It’s always difficult flushing a floater
Moving forward one ripple at at time
Letting cares and troubles float away
WOULD WE GO BACK?
In the flick of a fishy fin yes we would.  Ruka is in a great location to explore the Finnish landscape with or without a guide.  Rukapalvelu Safarihouse has year round activities but in winter, as well as Ice Fishing in Ruka; they offer starlit sleigh rides, snowmobile safaris, husky sled rides, river floating and snowshoeing.  Plenty for everyone to enjoy and I’ll definitely return to do the river floating, looked amazing!
With a very special THANK YOU to:
Rukapalvelu Safarihouse – for your exceptional kindness and generosity.
Pirjo – for your efficient communication and for organising our excursions.
Henri – for a great morning ice fishing, for keeping us safe and for a lovely lunch.
We are very grateful to you for making our trip to Ruka memorable and our Ice Fishing excursion lots of fun.  Hope you enjoyed the Bailey’s Irish cream…see you all in 2020.
LILY-BELLE SAYS (10) Getting dressed in lots of different clothes was really stressful but I enjoyed the ice fishing.  Maybe next time we’ll catch a fish. The snow on the lake was really deep and fluffy but now I know why there’s no snowmen in Finland, it’s difficult to make one!
MATILDA SAYS (4) I liked the ice fishing lots but enjoyed making snow angels more.  The hot berry juice was delicious when it went cold but the sandwich was hard and a bit yucky, I didn’t like it!
