Discover the Billion-Dollar Boom: Indonesia's Construction Industry Secrets Revealed!
The construction sector in Indonesia has been experiencing remarkable growth in recent years, and this trend is expected to continue. This growth is largely driven by the government's infrastructure development initiatives, which have led to a substantial increase in investment in the construction industry. In 2021, the Indonesian construction industry recorded an impressive annual growth rate of 4.83%, according to data from the Indonesian Statistics Agency (BPS).
The government's commitment to infrastructure development is evident from the significant increase in infrastructure investment. In 2018, the investment in infrastructure rose to IDR 157.8 trillion (approximately US$11.3 billion), up from IDR 216.8 trillion in the previous year. This substantial investment contributed significantly to the country's economic growth, accounting for 1.28% of the overall economic growth in 2018, with an added value of IDR 184.4 trillion. This marked an increase from the 1.06% contribution in 2017, with an added value of IDR 146.9 trillion.
These investments have been directed towards various infrastructure projects, including the construction of dams, new public roads, bridges, and toll roads. These developments have not only improved the country's infrastructure but have also enhanced its competitiveness on the global stage.
Indonesia's rankings in global competitiveness indices have seen positive changes. In the World Economic Forum's Global Competitiveness Index, Indonesia's rank in the Quality of Roads category improved from 72 in 2014 to 60 in 2019, out of 141 countries. Similarly, in the World Bank's Logistic Performance Index, Indonesia climbed from 53 in 2014 to 46 out of 161 countries in its 2018 report.
While the COVID-19 pandemic had a significant impact on the construction industry in 2020, the sector has since rebounded and is poised for continuous growth. Various consultancy firms project annual growth rates ranging from 5% to 7% in real terms. This growth is attributed to the government's effective COVID-19 mitigation measures and the ongoing infrastructure projects.
One of the major upcoming projects is the relocation of Indonesia's capital city from Jakarta to East Kalimantan, estimated to cost $33 billion and take a decade to complete. To fund this ambitious project and others, the Indonesian government launched the Indonesia Investment Authority (INA), a Sovereign Wealth Fund. The government plans to inject over $5 billion into INA, with several countries expressing interest in investing through it, including the US, Japan, and Canada.
In conclusion, Indonesia's construction sector is poised for continued growth and remains an attractive investment opportunity. Despite short-term challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic, the government's commitment to infrastructure development, coupled with a stable political environment, low inflation, good credit ratings, and prudent macroeconomic policies, makes Indonesia's construction sector a promising prospect for investors. To navigate this competitive landscape, investors are advised to seek experienced local partners with established networks for a competitive edge. Waghmore says the heightened sense of privileged individualism—where the rich have the means to fend for themselves—“has the worst consequences in poor countries, where governments are yet to invest morally and economically in public infrastructure and transport to counter environmental degradation.” K, who regularly treats those suffering from India’s air pollution inequality, puts it more succinctly. “I don’t think people should live with this,” she say, adding that everyone needs to take demand solutions. “If you don’t get something as basic as fresh air, then what’s the point of living in our country?”

love when ppl defend the aggressive monetization of the internet with "what, do you just expect it to be free and them not make a profit???" like. yeah that would be really nice actually i would love that:)! thanks for asking
#yes i want things to be free like ??? that is not a weird desire#'but but it costs money to keep up' ok and? how is that my problem#the government has plenty of murder dollars they could reallocate a few to make internet services universal if they wanted#also these companies were perfectly capable of supporting themselves before the internet got drowned with ads so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯#edit: muting notifs on this post bc new additions have kind of petered out#so no one feel bad about adding something someone else has said‚ it is not bothering me im just trying to keep my#notifs page cleanish lol#also since i saw some people are being redirected to read my tags: firstly hiiiiii this is a special secret message for you:3#secondly i have learned since making this that the reason they were able to support themselves previously was because#of investors bankrolling everything#and theyre now finally realizing that theyre never going to actually make a profit and arent as willing to invest#however thats just a minor correction and doesnt change my overall point#once again. so many murder dollars#so thats why im just adding it here in the tags rather than making an actual correction#anyways . love yall 💕#origibberish#bigger gibbers

Mega-Jolt: The Costs and Logistics of Plugging in EVs Are About to Become Supercharged
Looks like this wasn't thought all the way through.... Go figure.
By John Murawski November 27, 2023 Paul Sladen, Wikimedia Commons U.S. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm gave Americans an unintended glimpse of the future during her road trip this summer touting the wonders of electric vehicles. Her public relations misadventure in Georgia involved one of her staff in a gasoline-powered vehicle blocking off a coveted charger in advance of her arrival,…

I keep thinking about Lewis' review of The Hobbit, because he claimed that the main thing contemporary reviewers compared it to was Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Was fantasy in that poor of a state that Alice was the closest thing they could think of? Comparing that chaotic fever dream to Tolkien's intricately crafted world? Lewis does specify that the comparison is that both books are by an "Oxford professor at play", but they're otherwise so different that putting the two in the same category baffles me.
#books#tolkien#the hobbit#c.s. lewis#alice's adventures in wonderland#(i just reread alice because the nicely-formatted bookbinding pdf made a nice ebook)#(thought i'd give it another chance after seeing how foundational it is (mentioned in so many other works))#i think there's an unbridgable cultural gap somewhere#i can't fathom how anyone can read this and become invested in wonderland as a world#it's so random and so chaotic and everyone's a pun and no one's a character#and yet somehow there are books upon books upon books that try to turn it into a dark fantasy world#it doesn't make sense! it's a world that's not supposed to make sense!#and yet they try to treat the government as legitimate and the queen as a real threat etc.#okay sorry for the digression#but my point is that it's odd that there was nothing else in that seventy-ish year gap for them to compare it to#the only thing coming to mind is peter pan#i suppose george macdonald and e nesbit both had their own brands of popular children's fantasy#maybe the real shocking thing about that comparison#is that i'm so used to seeing it compared to narnia that putting the hobbit in a category with any earlier fantasy work seems weird

L for Minister AU
Light Yagami is desperate to know L's name and face. To know everything about his nemesis ("So I can kill him! Ryuk, stop laughing!"). And so, he turns on the TV, sees the promo video for the upcoming elections and thinks...
L would have to show up in person, unmasked and with his real name, if he was an elected Minister.
A few hours of paperwork filed anonymously and through a shady lawyer, a few hours of hacking and anonymous donations, and The Great Detective L is the latest minister candidate, running as an independent.
L does not know how or why he is suddenly running in the elections. Was this even legal? He wasn't even a citizen! Surely no one would vote for a candidate with no public appearances, a profile page with no photo, obviously overblown promises in propaganda -
Apparently, they would.
#L for Minister AU#Originally this was an 'L for President' AU#Because some countries (like the USA) elect their presidents in a direct election. So plot wise that would work.#But not *all* countries#And to be elected prime Minister as an anonymous candidate is even more impossible#So L for Minister it is 😂#Light does a bunch of fake propaganda#However he's such a perfectionist it all looks professionally#Wammy's M&M gets invested too. If L wants to be a government official then they will make damn sure he will!#The Task Force supports him#But quietly because politics isn't a workplace conversation even when your boss is running for an elected office.#Unfortunately no one asks or informs L until it's too late#And then L is running... running... elected#L is shook because he isn't even a citizen?#Light is shook too because this was his most absurd plan? And it succeeded? When he'd thought it as a backup joke plan?#Anyways. Minister L. Crack AU. Thanks for listening to my Ted talk.#Death note#l lawliet#Light Yagami#lawlight#Because L knows this was smh Kira's fault#He's not going to suffer through public office alone#Light is his selected second/assistant/whatever the term is#They're going to suffer government bureaucracy together ✨

About Genshin Impact and the technology of Teyvat
We get a kamera at the start of the game from Xu for the “Snapshot” world quest. In it Xu remarks that the kamera is a new invention from Fontaine.
Xu shows surprise at the Traveler knowing what it is, this supports the idea of the kamera being a new invention meaning it’s pricey and rare to have at this point. Later on, on the Traveler’s journey, we get quests to take pictures of things. This could mean that the kamera is becoming more widespread a time goes on, or just the knowledge of it.
During the 4.3 Fontinalia Festival the focus was placed of films. This was an attempt by the Fontaine Film Association to introduce films to the populace, making the main point of the festival the films produced for it.
This would give idea to films still being a new invention, as they aren’t widespread, just like how the kamera was at the start of the game which was about 3 years ago. And based off of Furina’s Character Demo “Furina: All the World’s a Stage” we can assume that the films recorded were black and white in quality. Unless, we assume that the mini-games during the 4.3 “Roses and Muskets” event were canonical in the way they showed the film quality. No noise was shown in either, but one was in color the other not.
This gives us an estimate of where — technological advancement vice — Teyvat is compared to our world. Films started becoming a thing at the end of the 1800s and start of the 1900s. Colored film started showing up around the 1930s, but became more accessible and profitable later on. Films started getting sound added to them around the mid-to-late 1920s. This gives us an estimate of around the start of the 1900s placement vice.
Now I’d like to bring up Khaenri'ah. It was heralded as “the pride of humanity” as said by Dainslief. Khaenri'ah has more than one notable scientific aspect linked to it, one of these being the “Field Tillers” aka Ruin Machines. Ruin Machines vary from “simple” Ruin Guards to a Ruin Serpent(s).
Ruin Machines seem to have been around for a while, since the Archon War even given the Ruin Hunter stored by Guizhong in a domain. This means that the technology may have been around for 1000s of years, likely being used as a defense method during the war and preserved thereafter. The knowledge of this technology didn’t spread much beyond Khaenri'ah, this showing through how the people of Teyvat started calling the Ruin Machines “Ruin Machines” after they spread globally after the Cataclysm.
Around Sumeru there exist three giant Ruin Machines called “Ruin Golems”. These were giant mecha style machines were piloted by a crew of people, and — get this — include a colored screen. By screen I mean the type of screen you’re viewing this through, footage from outside the Ruin Golem being broadcasted to the screen to allow the people piloting to see where they’re going or what they’re doing.
During the “Vimana Agama” world quest that was apart of the Aranyaka quest line we can go into the Ruin Golem in Devantaka Mountain by Port Ormos. There we can use the actual screen and see through it. This being a machine that has sat unused for hundreds of years. And its screen is still in working condition.
So, simply put. Khaenri'ah was very mechanically advanced.
BUT!
I have yet to mention the Terminal Viewfinders in Fontaine. You know, those eye ball machines you use to transfer energy to terminals in puzzles in the Fontaine Research Institute area. You know, the machines with working colored screens. Mind you this isn’t technology you’re able to find all through out Fontaine, only in certain areas usually accompanied by a researcher from the Institute. So it would be more comparable to machines found in laboratories and not accessible to common people.
But still. At the very least Fontaine is near the mechanical advancements of Khaenri'ah either a few hundred to thousands of years ago.
And I have yet to mention everything going on in King Deshret’s places in the Sumeru desert. And I’m not going to go into more than this mention because that is a headache I have yet to even get around to in game.
TL;DR Khaenri'ah was very technologically advanced to the point of hundreds of years later working colored screen technology. Fontaine is around that point with the Research Institute while normal day to day people are around silent movies in advancement, while I have no idea what’s going on with the Sumeru Desert.
#looking into this mess has made me even more annoyed with Khaenri'ah#what did you need the fucking war machines for. and why the code names. and also the weird decender orphanage thing#I just don’t like the governing body or people of authority in Khaenri'ah pretty much#Dain can hype it up as much as he wants but I just don’t trust it#also the whole abyss order bullshit#yeah but anyway#I got thinking about the technological advancements of Teyvat and got invested#genshin impact#genshin impact lore#teyvat#khaenri'ah#ruin golem#ruin machines#genshin lore#dainsleif#fontaine#Fontaine research institute#Genshin impact 4.3#lore#world building#technology#machines#Genshin kamera#what am I supposed to tag this as#lore discussion#hoyoverse#mihoyo#king deshret#sumeru desert#Genshin impact Field tillers

So beyond tired of the reduction of incredibly complex political issues to glib games of point-scoring against whichever group you've decided are Bad™ and are therefore worthy of being horribly mutilated and killed. Social media sure is wonderful.
#dale's ramblings#politics#what part of politics specifically?#eh doesn't matter#i'm at the point where i simply do not care about which government does what to which other government#apparently feeling bad for the ordinary people that get caught in the midst of it all is a controversial notion#i don't care about who's to blame for which specific act of violence#i mean i do#knowledge is important and all#but the overriding consideration for me is that i just don't think people should be hurt#and if you're looking for something to get up in arms about don't worry i got you covered:#yes this is about xyz political conflict that you personally are invested in#and yes it is an expression of sympathy for abc group you think should be horribly killed#wowee aren't you just so angry#don't you just wanna quote me into oblivion#god it's so fucking interchangeable and i am tired of it

something i enjoy about suits is that these mike and harvey are literally drawn to each other because they both love a good adrenaline rush. like, mike was the one who talked harvey into giving him a job despite having zero qualifications other than his insane memory, and yet harvey already had at least 75% made up when he shook mike's hand. harvey talks about how life is like this and he likes living like this, and mike talks about how he got kicked out of a life that he's been chasing ever since. they're both scrambling after some kind of insane life and mike will say that he wants to help people (and he does! i think he really does!), but he's also the insane guy who tells himself he's helping people by also lying his way into the system in the first place. he's a guy who likes to bend the rules to get at his larger goals, and harvey's the guy who sees most rules as gentle suggestions more than anything else, so long as he just wins. they're both insane! they feed into each other's insanity! mike can play coy and pretend he'll leave harvey eventually, but then harvey wheedles his way back into mike's life with another offer or plan or suggestion and mike will go "no, harvey, i like my peaceful life right now" and then an episode later be like "nvm. what are we doing now". i'm sick to the stomach because they're literally always going to be like this. they aren't escaping each other because they recognize each other for the insane high they both want. they're literally obsessed with each other
#caroline talks#suits#SICK TO MY STOMACH . . .. SICK TO MY STOMACH!!!!#i've been spoiled about the ending of suits but i keep thinking about patrick adams#saying that mike and harvey are always going to find a way back to each other.#and in my heart of hearts i think that it doesn't necessarily even have to be romantic (even though patrick said that they're a love story)#but like . .. . mike and harvey are bound. they understand each other!!! there is something so wrong with BOTH OF THEM#whatever. an addictive relationship or something#thinking about like. twelve and clara in the whole 'they're both kind of insane and it'll take the literal end of the world for them to cal#it all off.'#thinking about butcher and hughie in the boys where like. hughie leaves for a government job#and butcher's SO bitter and eventually talks hughie back in.#and it's. a very similar vibe.#mike leaves to become. a fuckign investment banker and harvey's just like. mopey about it#and cue mike going 'oh my god i can't believe it. YOU'RE STILL UPSET WITH ME ABOUT LEAVING' and harvey's just '>:((((((('#and then harvey winds up talking mike back into the firm anyways#like. oh please. they're both obsessed with the kind of high that comes from being around each other#and you wanna tell me they're not going to be obsessed with each other for the rest of their lives? PLEASE
