Sometimes I just love reading about fictional characters from games on places like Quotev and Tumblr, seeing solely through the eyes of fans how they act and what they secretly feel and then playing the actual game and going ‘that’s not how they act at all!’

Because then you notice things other people haven’t told you. Like just how much a character distrusts others and how well they can actually put up a facade. The little things.

And it just gives them more depth, you know? Because then you gain a better understanding. And I just love it when I do that to fictional characters I get attached to when I haven’t even played the game yet. It fleshes them out, in a way. And it just makes me love them more.

Going to the mall as I am now (kinda punky/extremely autistic) is kinda funny like. That's a nice shirt. However, it's not one of my thousand beloved black graphic t shirts and it is such a texture and kind of a weird shape to it and honestly I don't really wanna buy any sort of fast fashion type shit or brand shit. Don't care. Oh they have patches. Kinda cute but straight up I can just make those. In fact, I would prefer to. Don't care. Also I'm not buying that.

So while I think maybe Gortash wouldn't exactly have a natural garden (at least one he's actually enthused about keeping/is interested in himself, I think he'd have one in the sense of being able to say he does-- Like "I'm Balduran nobility, of course I have people tending to a garden." re: keeping up appearances) I DO think he'd instead have a "garden" made of metal and the like, somewhere. Why spend so much time, so much hard work on something that can be so easily ruined by weather out of one's control? Something that will wilt, that you cannot truly control and might not even fit your vision? It needs so much time to just keep things orderly, time which he doesn't really have to be spending on hobbies. So, over the course of many years, an hour spent here cutting and molding petals, an hour there making vines, eventually a picturesque work of art manifests.

A small field of delicately and intricately made metal flowers, thin and sharp blades of silvery grass, and like some sort of fucked up bonsai project the centerpiece of the garden would be a massive work-in-progress tree with twisted together metal to mimic the look of bark. You don't have to obsess over a disease plaguing plants, insects marring once-perfect leaves or other maintenance of the like, because everything is perfectly in place as it should be. Anything that changes in the garden is because Gortash made it so, it's like playing God on a budget. It's perfect for this control freak. He makes it thrive. He's solely responsible for all this beauty.

Tbh sometimes I feel awkward over using the same visual reference and/or argumentation for my theories for like 50th time 😔 But Soulsborne lore is simply structured in such a way that it isn't self-explanatory and needs sources. And I know that all five of you have seen the references many times, but there are also non-regular readers (most people just see my posts occasionally), but I can't stop posting the same sources all the time because I don't want anyone to just "assume" that I am a credible source! Like, I don't want to 'just say' things without backing them up and for someone to read them and 'just believe' them because they 'know' me and can 'assume' that they were well-researched and checked 'as usual'. This is a terrible attitude to perpetuate, nobody should be trusted just by default, no matter how much they've proven to obsessively check the source material in the past! It is less that I have genuine enjoyment being a parrot (I mean that TOO, but...) and more that I want to make a point that all claims about lore and characters should be put through scrutiny, you should never 'just' take the claims from anyone, including people whose whole reputation is being the lore guy
