So apparently loads of people took the 'Grab Nygma, they want him not me' to be Oswald betraying Ed, but I interpreted it very differently. Oswald had just told Ed if they were ever going to be at odds, Ed would know. And then 2 seconds later he goes to betray him? It doesn't make any sense.

Personally, I viewed that as Oswald protecting Ed. He'd just been told the GCPD had broken through into his territory looking for Ed, and the safest place in his territory is city hall. He told his men to grab Ed so he'd stay in city hall where he'd be safe, whilst Oswald went to meet the GCPD, outside. 'They want him, not me' was him telling his men Ed was the priority, that he should be kept safe inside city hall whilst Oswald went to confront the GCPD, since he wasn't their main target
