i like the idea of rootspring being a single adoptive father who takes in all the lonesome kits. rootspring’s orphanage :)

While I will foolishly hold out hope for canon to NOT pair Rootspring up with a wife just for the sake of her birthing his children (eurghg), I can say for absolute certain that in BB, I will never be putting Rootspring with another mate.

I would immediately take his canon mate and SLAMMM DUNKKK her into a relationship with his sister, Needleclaw. Rootspring is gonna stay single. If he does get canon kits, I will make them adopted. If it's Wrenflight specifically, I will probably end up keeping her kits with her and giving Rootspring some repurposed side characters OR split the litter.

But in any case BB!Rootspring is going to be a single parent when it happens, 100%. I might even do it if they DON'T give him canon kits. I like the fact he wants children, honestly.
