no my brain being like: 'no we don't know this word in english' or 'no i don't remember at all, you sure you learn that one?' and only when i click on google translator and before i even start typing anything it goes like 'it's this! i remember now! no need for this app now!' like -_- ! couldn't you do that like 10s ago before i gave up and turned for help?

It's no secret that Google Translate's results have been getting steadily worse ever since they switched to LLM-based dictionaries, but a new thing is whenever I click "Detect Language" it now automatically sets my target language to Spanish? I'm from Saskatchewan.

I was reading - or rather watching - the book dedicated to Daydream Hour released this year, and I came across some pages dedicated to the various characters who give each other Christmas presents. I found it very funny from what little I understood with Google Lens, and was wondering if there was an unofficial English translation. Thanks in advance if you can find it. P.S Pages from 130 to 135 in case you don't understand which ones I mean.

I like to think that Marinette’s qualities come from her parents!! Like her kindness is because of Tom’s example, and her resourcefulness as Ladybug is from Sabine.

Also “Marinette” being her French name and “Jiayi” being her Chinese name I put in there along with Socqueline! She’s kind of an older sister figure to her and considers her a cousin bc their families are so close. She had moved to another city in France by the time Marinette starts junior year but they call often!

Inuktut, a broad term encompassing different dialects spoken by Inuit in Canada, Greenland and Alaska, has been added to Google Translate, which translates text, documents and websites from one language into another. Lila has no reason to sabotage Marinette because Marinette isn't threatening her little empire she wants to build. In fact, she really wants Marinette on her side BECAUSE she's not apart of the school, so she doesn't need to keep up an elaborate web of lies! She can just try to befriend a talented girl who makes AMAZING food and try to get freebies~

this is Lǐyú (鲤鱼) meaning carp (uh but i found this through google translate so take that w/ a grain of salt)

carp are considered lucky in chinese culture - its what im basing their ‘powers’ on, they have good and bad luck

and guess who’s lucky enough to be pulled into bmw :)

also gave a name to the destined one since ‘destined one’ is a mouth full

name i picked for him is yēzi (椰子) which means coconut!! was looking up stone fruit and cocnuts re one of them, plus he was (presumably) born on flower fruit mountain, he might have been given a fruit name before being whisked away to train for his destiny

uh anyway not canon but i thought it was cute
