Mass Effect and Halo are both sci fi video game franchises that are 3* games long and that focus somewhat on human alien relations. The ways in which they are different are significant and map convincingly onto the existing American political spectrum.

In mass effect all the aliens maintain diplomatic relationships with each other but can't stand each other, you've got every species at the thanksgiving dinner table but nobody can talk about anything without it exploding into passive aggressive disputes over who said or did what. This is recognizable democrat behavior. Also in mass effect you play as a perfect diplomat angel baby who is probably a woman (very woke) and who is constantly given opportunities to do cartoonishly evil things but politely declines and is praised endlessly for this (this obviously only applies to paragon players (people who play renegade are libertarians instead probably (I don't have to explain this)), really the fact that the game splits things very plainly into Good Guy and Evil Guy but only for your character is another post)

In Halo you play as Master Chief who is a faceless military dude who goes around killing aliens because they're evil. Most of the alien races can be described just as "The Bad Guys" and they're interacted with almost entirely via military battles. BUT, the important thing is despite this, master chief is still super tight with like one or a handful of members of these species that are exceptions, and totally exempt from this characterization, because they're "chill". If you have never talked to a republican this is exactly how they all are. Nothing in Halo is "political" because the whole thing is predicated on We Are The Good Guys, but this also leaves The Good Guys open to welcome others into the fold, and in general the game is more frank and open about things. There's no red tape squabbling over anything because the only two possible social vectors are Sworn Enemies and Bros For Life

The reapers are also an exclusively evil race, but idk they're a stand-in for existential threats democrats are scared of like climate change and having to spend time in a lower income neighborhood.

I haven't played mass effect in over a decade I think and I've never touched a Halo so I need you to know that these opinions are extremely thoroughly researched and indisputable

Also 40k represents both leftists (games workshop will let anybody use the IP so it's kind of a mess of contradictions = leftist infighting, and also they're generally trying to make some salient points about shit) and also the alt-right (gestures at the in-universe lore of 40k), so basically this proves horseshoe theory is real. (I was told by a friend that there's apparently some reddit atheist god king (I don't know anything about 40k) and so we have decided he is Lenin)
