Really bothers me how Kilorn's disdain for Cal in GS is boiled down into being primarily made up of jealously over Cal's abilities and his relationship to Mare when Kilorn has every reason to hate Cal and have no respect for him whatsoever.

Kilorn in RQ is nearly sent to his death in war that isn't his to fight and the only reason he avoids it is because Mare saves him after being held captive by the royal family. He's lived in oppression his entire life and Cal is at the very top of the ladder. Cal is heir to the throne that oppresses Kilorn and RQ ends with Cal arresting Mare to have her killed. Kilorn has every reason to hate him, so for Mare, and the narrative by extension, to treat it as something he needs to get over is wild.

I think what disappoints me the most about this is that it could've been used to show how utterly disconnected from Reds Cal is by this point. Have Kilorn hate Cal because Cal is the physical representation of the system that has oppressed Kilorn, and his people, for his entire life. Have him resent Cal for what he did to Mare, Farely, and the Guard as a whole in RQ. And then have Cal's disdain come from something as childish as Kilorn's annoying and Cal is jealous over his bond with Mare- show how disconnected Cal is from the Red's he wants to rule over that he can't even understand the core of why one would hate him so much.

Disney Princes/Heroes may be the most underrated and least discussed group in the entirety of the Disneyverse, but we already knew this, tbh. I think outside of hotness debates and the frequent, "He looked at her like this 🥺" from fangirls, not much is said about them, nor is there a lot of content and merch based on them. That is just referring to them within fandom spaces. Mainstream just ignores them altogether. Ngl, as someone who has truly found a lot of value and depth in them, it makes me sad.

On one hand, I want a final fantasy 6 remake, because the game is criminally underrated and the amount of fan content (which is all absolutely fantastic btw) is Not Enough for my neurodivergent, hyperfixating brain.

On the other hand, that would inevitably encourage more people to join the fandom, which would be great, except it seems these days the bigger a fandom gets the more toxic it becomes, and I really like what we have going on over here in our little corner. We all just love the game and its characters and nobody fights about who should and shouldn't date who or who you shouldn't like because they're ~problematique~. Nobody's trying to make one ship morally better than another, nobody's calling anyone names or threatening to doxx people who don't agree with their opinions. It's so peaceful and I love that for us. We're just vibing. Moisturized. Unbothered. In our lane. Flourishing.

To be completely honest I think the entire argument of "Ena and Akito basically have the same personality" is disingenuous at best and stupid at worst (if you're defending Ena by comparing her to the fandom's favourite and saying "they're basically the same person and have no defining traits that may make people prefer one over the other" are you really. Defending her? By calling her a carbon copy of her brother?) so I will not be participating in it. However I am annoyed at people just dismissing the hitting Touya thing.

I feel like there's two camps of people one of which is calling Akitoya's entire relationship abusive because they dared to have One Fight as overreacting dramatic teenagers & made up for it to each other a thousand times over and the other is closing their eyes to the entire thing happening in the first place. Which is equally dumb because I'm not here to police your media interests but I just think if you pretend to not see the way pre-Main Story Akitoya was at least a little bit dysfunctional in an interesting way that's just boring. That makes their story boring. Sorry.
