Like, here's the thing. The USA and Mexico are both countries in the continent of North America. They're both American. So, honestly, I can see an argument for the Gulf being named the Gulf of America. It honors both countries that surround that body of water.

But, it's called the Gulf of Mexico. That isn't a slight against the US, it earned that name long ago. Changing the name now isn't fixing a past injustice, it's just posturing. There are so many great problems facing the US, changing the name of the Gulf shouldn't even be in the top 100 priority list.

It's a meaningless gesture that sounds good to uneducated nationalists. And that's why he did it. Not to make the country a better place, not to honor the US, not to improve the lives of literally anyone. All he has are empty promises and meaningless gestures. To his core, deep down, that's who he is.

Well, that, and an inky black void where compassion and the barest, basest empathy should be.

What the fucking hell is it with trump and trying to take everything away? First he changes the golf of Mexico and then he closes the FDA and now he wants to take away transgender rights? Plus, he wants to take trans out of the military. If they want to serve for this country then fucking let them. My god we all bleed red at the end of the day and as long as you don’t go kill people or hurt people for fun then what the hell why the fuck not.

It’s fucking stupid. I hope he knows he’s going to hell and the thing is he’s dragging this country with him.
