"Good job everyone, I think it's time we call it a night. we have a big day ahead of us tomorrow". Steve looks at the other photographers on the team.

People filter out one by one bidding each other goodnight. Soon it's just the two of you. You work fast to pack away the equipment that was assigned to you for the trip. 

You put in the last of extra SD cards into its special compartment. Silence fills the air, the cool breeze of Serengeti brushes against your skin. A perfect calm and end to the hot day. You loved the chill of the evening at least that allowed you to have a good night's rest. 

Tomorrow was busy and required an unusually early start to the day, the group was leaving Morocco for Tanzania  with a little stop over in Zanzibar.

The itinerary also included a trip to Nungwi Island. But that was just for tomorrow. Other than that, the job was laid back, thanks to Steve.

“Good job today, you catch on fast”. 

“Thanks Mr Rogers”. You turn to him and smile. A smile in which he returns with one dimple making an appearance. Steve’s smile always made your heart race.

On the rare occasion, it made an appearance. It brings back a memory of when you first met Steve at one of the gala nights hosted at the golf club. 

It was a nice chill night as you stood by the small pond, taking a little break for yourself and watching the setting sun, you’d snapped a quick picture on your phone. A habit you’d formed, anytime you saw something you liked you took a picture. Posting it to your photography account. 

This drew Steve's attention, who was returning from his car after forgetting his wallet. He spotted you alone, taking in the figure hugging red dress with gold accessories to match. Your hair had been slicked back for an elegant look. His eyes followed the length of your braided ponytail cascading down your back.The tip reached just above the round of your ass. He quickly averted his eyes up and made his way to you. 

“Beautiful sunset isn’t it?”. 

The deep timbre of his voice had startled you. If the pace of your heart wasn’t already fast it was now beating at superspeed. Your eyes met the blue eyes of a handsome stranger, decked out in a fitting black tuxedo. 

“Sorry didn’t mean to scare you darlin”.

Steve had moved to stand beside you, a grin gracing his face. His hair had been shorter and more clean cut, unlike his more rugged look now. You loved the long hair he was sporting now. It was often tempting. You had this deep desire to run your hands through it. 

Shy, you simply nodded, turning your eyes back to the view before you. Sensing your shyness, he didn’t probe for conversation. Instead, he took in the view with you. Feeling safe you’d spoken up.

“The sunsets in Tanzania, I heard, are the most spectacular, this is probably the closest thing I’ll get to it”. Oh how you wished to go to Tanzania, but you didn’t have anyone to go with, your friends mostly preferred Italy, France or cruise ships. It’s not that you didn’t appreciate it, it's just you wanted more adventure outside the normal.

“They are spectacular, there are no words I can use to perfectly describe it, that’s why I’m heading there again later this year, you should come”.

That invitation alone brings you to this very moment. If someone had told you that you’d be travelling the world this year, you would have laughed in their face. So far this year you've spent time living in your suitcase. Visiting the beautiful countries of Vanuatu, Morocco and lastly Tanzania. 

“No problem, call me Steve darlin, no need for honorifics ”. His voice brings you back to the present. You search through your head to string together a sentence of tangible words to continue the conversation. You hated that every time you were around Steve, words failed to come out. 

“So—”. Before you could speak, one of the guys on the team popped his head inside the tent. Steve rolls his eyes, annoyance, heavily visible on his face as he crosses his arms over his chest and eye brows furrowed on his face, Bryan enters, not even paying attention to Steve. 

“Sorry to bother you. Hey, so some of us are having a late night swim and ice cream before we retire to bed, would you like to join us”. You look at Steve then, Bryan. Steve simply shrugs his shoulders. 

“Uhh—”. 

“It’ll be fun”. It did sound like a nice way to end the evening, but you were tired. It was quite a busy day, and the following will be equally as busy. 

“I think I’ll have an early night today”.

“Are you sure? Come celebrate  it is our last day in Morocco”.

“No really I’m okay”. You wondered why he couldn’t just take your no as an answer. This was one of the reasons you had trouble saying no. 

“Pretty please”.  

“She said no”. Bryan finally turns his attention from you to Steve. He stands stalking up to Bryan, towering a foot above him. He cowers back, moving slightly out of the tent embarrassed. 

“Apologise to her, I don’t take kindly to boundaries being pushed”.

“My apologies, for pushing your boundaries….”.

“And for making her uncomfortable”. Steve adds

“And for making you uncomfortable”. You simply nod and Bryan retreats, after pushing him out of the tent. 

“Mr Rogers, you didn’t have to do that”.

“It's Steve darlin”.

He continues, caressing your cheek “and yes I had to do that”. 

“Yeah, he does have a way of pushing boundaries”.

“I’ll have him gone, he won’t join us on the trip”.

All you could was simply nod. 

“Thanks Steve and goodnight, I really need to head to bed”. 

“Sweet dreams love”. He plants a kiss on your forehead.

Next step is to say some affirmations in front of the mirror, saying affirmations like 'I look so pretty today' or 'my skin looks so healthy' or simply being kinder to ourselves can ease stress, allow us to face difficulty more courageously, and feel more content and confident!

Now it's time for skincare, Jia emphasizes on having a healthy skincare, for this you will need to create a routine based on your skin type (dry, oily, combination, sensitive, normal or acne prone) and your skin concerns (black heads, bumps, irritation, scars, etc.), please make sure to consult a professional before using anything on your face! Jia uses a soothing gel, thermal water and a body lotion to moisturize her body after shower, she massages the products on her skin to relax her muscles. After 30 minutes, she dries her hair with cold air. After, you can trim your split ends or take care of your nails if necessary.

As a part of self-care, do chores like doing laundry or washing the dishes so you can start relaxing on a tidy place (you can also light an scented candle). Also, Jia takes her vitamins for her hair and overall health.

Now it's time to enjoy our hobbies! Having hobbies help us with both our physical and mental health, plus having our alone time makes us more comfortable with ourselves and help with self -discovery, Jia haves a good set of hobbies that she spends most of her time doing like oil painting, doing DIYs, watching dramas like insider, taking care of her dogs, cooking and baking, playing video games and golf!

🌷 Finally, Jia spends her night taking care of her skin! First she washes her hands, the uses a cleansing oil or milk, then she uses makeup remover on her eyes if the cleanser didn't take off her eyeliner for example, then she uses a foam cleanser and toner to finish cleanse her skin. After she uses a hydrating mist and ampule, a dermatologic treatment, sheet mask, lip balm and moisturizer (remember to apply it on the neck too!) after she uses a gua sha to massage her face.

as a part of skincare, make sure to sleep at least 8 hours everyday and drink enough water to wake up with perfect skin!

Well, I just turned 42. I'm celebrating by reviewing a toy. Specifically, I'm solving a 20-year mystery.

Behold, Mutant Spawn. At a size and image quality we didn't have at the time. I loved me some monsters even then, but this never appeared in my area. I puzzled over this photo again and again, trying to parse what I was even looking at. Why is the armor vomiting his face? Why is there half a bear trap hanging off his kidneys? And bug wings?

Not that I was looking very hard, but this had bothered me ever since. This year, I pulled the trigger. And boy howdy, was it cheap.

Okay then. The card only makes things more confusing. Somehow Spawn (or an alternate timeline version thereof) has become a "dual being", a poisonous (and deadly!) predator that poses as a harmless bug to trick evildoers. I guess this is post-Armageddon, then. Let's do this.

Ah... hmm. I'm enamored with the way that head just sort of oozes out and dangles. It wobbles around a lot too, which is doubly hilarious. What I took to be a serrated metal jaw is in fact a textured, fairly smooth... Well, a friend of mine said it looks like an... adult swing. The four tongues lolling out of the mouth don't help, nor does the spiky toilet bowl collar. The jaws (and mechanical blade-tentacles, boasting a whopping two hinge joints each), are blatantly pegged into a plain black hinge jutting from the sternum.

Articulation is minimal: swivel hips and shoulders, and the head can stand at half-mast if you wedge it up there real good, but no turning it at all. It also retracts into the armor. The aforementioned tentacles have their hinges, as does the tail- which is just another tentacle. On another obvious hinge. The jaw can actually hinge all the way up over the head.

The hands have holes for accessories, but none are present. The holes are the super tiny kind, too, which makes 'em pretty useless, eh? Not sure what might have been planned there, really. He could probably carry the original Spawn's nail-board, though.

Now, "mutant" I get. "Spawn", sure. There'd already been a few odd permutations. But I'm not sure how much of this thing is even organic. All that red and black mostly has the pebbly texture of the chunky armor bits Al was rocking at the time, but there are several portions- the forearms and torso, chiefly- that are purely mechanical, with a stylized endoskeleton look.

In fact, if you lift the bug wings (and we'll touch on those momentarily), the only recognizably organic parts are the head and this hideous lump of alien-looking meat. Almost as if this is just a suit construct housing the little undead tentacle monster that used to be Spawn. The lump is actually soft rubber, and kind of fun to touch.

The wings are a point of contention here. Boxed, mine had them mounted on the forearms. Fortunately, there are holes on the back that will let them rest against the back, where they nestle snugly over Mutant Spawn's apparent mutant slug butt. Some shipments had four wings, but I didn't get that lucky. They were reused for Manga Violator, which is surely even cheaper, but I don't even want half of that thing clogging the parts bin. I'm fine with just rear ones for now.*

And now, the harmless looking insect-like creature. A golf cart sized cyber bulldog with rhino skin, bug wings and a bladed tail. And two shorter bladed tails. "Harmless". The future must be pretty bad if this doesn't set off alarm bells anymore.

A bit of research tells me this started life as Chameleon Spawn. When color-changing paint didn't cost out, they reworked a few small touches and released it this way. And also with four wings. And later, with four organic bendy tentacles, and blue patches on the armor. There may have been a solid silver version too.

And with that, I think I can officially proclaim this the Worst Trainwreck in the original Spawn line. Everything from the design to the engineering, from the odd variants to the terribly vague (and yet oddly specific) backstory, stumbles across the finish line sideways with drinks in hand. Sculpt and Paint did their best with the ingredients they were given (apparently you can polish a turd), but garbage in, garbage out.

Well, that's my bit. And remember, kids: always research before you buy. If you can't find more than one source, nobody else wanted it either.

* I had ordered the four-tentacled one, but there was a mixup. The seller didn't even want this back, so it's getting harvested for wings when that shows up, and this uniquely awful piece will take it's place on the shelf.

Although this would be incredibly wholesome, with Tobys trauma he would never set foot behind the wheel unless it was an emergency and it was to run someone over.

He’s too traumatized form the car accident with Lyra and the injuries and everything that came along with them, that he gets panic attacks from even a revving engine of a car on the tv. He won't even ride a tractor lawnmower.

Tim sat antsy in the passenger seat, although he didn’t show it through a bouncing leg or a shaky hand through his locks, his eyes were darting around the car.

Toby had already turned on the radio to "ease the tension" but really it was driving Tims' nerves up the wall.

“The PRNDL?"

"Yes, the PRNDL."

Toby looked over toward Tim, and if he hadn’t been afraid of insulting him and ending the lesson prematurely, he would have commented on Tim’s terrible state.

Toby’s foot wasn’t even on the brake yet. Granted the car wasn’t started but it’s the PRINCIPAL.

“So you know what all of them mean?”

Tim was mainly saying this to reassure himself he wouldn’t be broken into itty bitty Timmy pieces by the time the ride was over.

And to stall the impending doom, of course.

"Yeah."

"Alright. Now, do whatever you feel is right in order to get this car from here to that parking space.

An empty parking lot seemed to be the best option, they were going to do it on the front lawn of the manor with the golf cart, but Tim couldn't help but think of every "Toby-Scenario" in the previous week.

Yeah, that wasn't happening.

Toby pressed the start button to the car. He did not press it long enough.

The Granting Users Magnificent Boosts, Accessories, and Lots of Laughs (G.U.M.B.A.L.L.) Machine is a shop interface added to EVERY Toon Headquarters in the Hires and Heroes Update. While it looks like a Gachapon Machine, it has ZERO Gacha Mechanics! You get what you paid for!

Unlike every other shop in the game, you spend Gumballs earned from Daily Tasks and Sweeteners here.

It even has its own ambient noises and theme! The ambient sounds can be heard from anywhere in the HQ, while the theme can only be heard when you’re standing right next to it. And the ambient sounds blend REALLY well with the theme!

We’ll start with Boosters.

Every Neighborhood has a different set of Boosters to purchase from its G.U.M.B.A.L.L. machine. As such, it pays to check multiple playgrounds when looking for a Booster you need. These Boosters are changed out daily, and there are six different boosters, divided between 4 2-hour boosters and 2 8-hour boosters. Unlike Club Boosters, these boosters only “run out” while you’re playing.

While there are 4 2-hour booster slots, you can only purchase the other 3 after making enough progress on the Kudos Board.

Bossbot XP Booster (125 Gumballs): Earn 25% more Bossbot Department Experience!

Power Gag Booster (100 Gumballs): Earn more Gag Experience for Throw, Zap, Trap, and Drop Gags.

Support Gag Booster (100 Gumballs): Earn more Gag Experience for Squirt, Lure, Toon-up, and Sound Gags.

The fifth slot is unlocked from the start, and is known as the “Daily Booster”. It’s the same across all Neighborhoods, and corresponds to the day of the week. All Daily Boosters last for 8 hours, and stack with other Boosters AND Weekly Holidays. They are as follows:

Boss Reward Booster (800 Gumballs): Exclusive to Surplus Sundays, you’ll earn 1 additional boss reward of any type (excluding Unites) when defeating the corresponding Boss. What’s a Unite? It’s a surprise tool that’ll help us later!

Universal Merit Booster (600 Gumballs): Exclusive to Merit Mondays, you’ll earn 25% more Merits from all Cogs.

Activity XP Booster (450 Gumballs): Exclusive to Activi-Tuesdays, you’ll earn 25% more Activity Experience for all Activities!

Jellybean Booster (300 Gumballs): Exclusive to Wealthy Wednesdays, this works exactly like a regular Jellybean Booster, just lasting longer.

Department XP Booster (450 Gumballs): Exclusive to Tactical Thursdays, this boosts all Department Experience by 25%.

All Star Booster (1,000 Gumballs): Exclusive to Silly Saturdays. All of the previous 6 Boosters rolled into 1.

The sixth and final slot is the same every day: The Random Booster.

For 350 Gumballs, it’ll become one of the above Boosters, including (potentially) the All Star Booster, and stick around for 8 Hours, even if the Booster it turned into usually only lasts for 2! Additionally, it will ONLY turn into a Booster you can actually use!

If you get a repeat Booster, it’s duration will be added to your existing Booster, although you can’t have a Booster Duration that lasts longer than a week after SOMEONE managed to grind out enough Boosters to be boosted for a whole freaking YEAR!!! (There was a limited time event going on at the time that made getting Boosters easier.)

To check your active Boosters, go into the “Daily Tasks” tab of the Toontask page of your Shtickerbook. If that seems random, Daily Tasks rewarded Boosters before the Hires and Heroes Update.

The Clothing section, meanwhile, is the same across all Neighborhoods. You can see the Clothing and Accessories are stored in Gachapon-like Capsules, but there are no gacha mechanics here. You just select what you want to purchase, fork over the Gumballs, and it’s yours! Most of the outfits are from defunct events, removed Toontasks, or the removed “streak” system. (Daily tasks used to have “streaks”, which were replaced by the Gumball system.) There are probably hundreds of options here, so I’m not going to offer listing off everything like I did with the Boosters.

The Social section sells items you can use to customize your Toon Profile. They are as follows:

Outback Profile Background (600 Gumballs): Commemorates the in-game event that added the “Outback Species” to the Make-a-Toon.

Outback Profile Nameplate (700 Gumballs): Ditto.

Star Profile Nameplate (800 Gumballs): … Yeah, I don’t know what this one is from.

Silent Treatment Profile Pose (450 Gumballs): Your Toon has their back to the camera.

Banana Profile Pose (500 Gumballs): Your Toon holds a banana peel with an evil grin.

Seltzer Bottle Profile Pose (500 Gumballs): Your Toon holds a seltzer bottle like they’re about to use it on a Cog.

Gag Button Profile Pose (500 Gumballs): Your Toon holds out the button used to activate several Gags, typically Drop.

Pie Toss Profile Pose (500 Gumballs): Your Toon holds back a Whole Fruit Pie and is clearly winding back to throw it.

this post has everything except the dolls and their meet accessories (which I already talked about in another post), the pets (which are cute but basic, and pricey as usual at $34), and the obligatory gigantic, super expensive playset (which is just never going to be for me, on top of being $175).

the beds are very simple, but they’re cute, and super accurate to what a lot of kids had (I think I had basically this exact bed frame). $150 is extremely pricey for these, especially because they are so simple, but that’s true about most ag furniture lol

Isabel’s bedroom accessories are cute enough, but I LOVE the bubble chair in nicki’s. these are also pricey at $50 but they have quite a bit more detail than the beds. Isabel’s doesn’t seem worth it to me - the only thing you couldn’t make yourself or buy way cheaper is the tamagotchi, which isn’t worth the price tag to me. However, I’m def gonna get nicki’s bedroom accessories at some point, even if I don’t get her. That said, I might wait a year or so until they start getting incorporated into sales, as $50 is still a lot of money.

I really love the desk and computer! it’s $145, which is a lot, but there’s a ton of details, so it feels way more justified to me than the beds. if I didn’t recently acquire the old AG Mac computer to go into my eventual 90s room, this might make my “save up some money and stick around to wait for a sale” list. however, I find the implication on the website that the girls, in ‘99, would have a computer in their own room a little outlandish, but hey, maybe I’m just a pleb.

the pjs are. fine. there’s so many secondhand doll pjs out there from the actual 90s that are cuter in my opinion, though. At $34 and $28, I’ll be looking elsewhere for pjs.

The tennis outfit is cute - I like that they’re leaning into the preppy style here. It very much reminds me of an ag tennis/golf outfit I have from my childhood collection. I actually LOVE nickis skateboarding outfit. I think it’s probably my favorite outfit in the collection so far. The only problem? It doesn’t actually come with the helmet, knee pads, or elbow pads. Those are exclusive to the giant playset. That’s a weird stance to take on safety equipment, ag, but ok. Both sports outfits are $40, which is quite pricey, but consistent with similar ag outfits with accessories like these.

the pizza set isn’t for me; it’s meant to tap into nostalgia that I don’t have. However, it’s a hit with those who are nostalgic for this time period, from what I’ve seen. It’s a bit pricey, however, at $32.

And that’s it! Overall, I like it a lot. Quite a few cute pieces, quite a few overpriced pieces, the usual grab bag. I will say though that this is a really nicely well-rounded starting collection. since ag clearly isn’t going back to the six outfits format, I think that having a meet outfit, one activity outfit, and pjs at launch is pretty good! I’m also super relieved that ag isn’t doing more mix and match pieces with the historical outfits, even if they could get away with it with the more modern girls.

My only real disappointment here is that there’s nothing here or in the meet outfits of either girl that references their faith (at least that I can see). I’m sure that ag will come out with something Hanukkah themed for them this winter, but Judaism doesn’t revolve around Hanukkah (it’s not even a major holiday). I would have loved to see one of the girls with the classic star of David necklace (or a charm bracelet with that as one of the charms), some Hebrew school homework, or even just some cultural touchstones like specific foods. Like. Anything. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
