#yall will never understand how much the danron oc community means to me #ITR SUCKED TOTAL FUCKING ASS but it was smth ur never gonna see again #like... THAT many people in a SINGLE FANDOM OC COMMUNITY #NOT A CANON RP COMMUNITY. BUT RP COMMUNITY FOR *OCS*#it was insane on both the indie and group scenes #waiting to see the roster for doubt and other big name groups #dash commentary that turned small instances into huge community-wide events #knowing that everyone followed everyone so youd all be seeing the same things and able to participate in the random events #being a small-time rper suddenly thrust into popularity bcause you interacted with one of the popular rpers ONCE in a silly goofy event #and then subsequently became friends with said popular rper #making enemies bcause it was SO HUGE ud inevitably run into shitheads #god i miss those days #nothing is ever gonna replicate that #i wish i still had all my old blogs but i often re-used emails so i purged blogs a lot :(#i think nari's indie blog and one of his group blogs are the only ones of mine still up #OH and making sprites of ur characters so u could put them into posts the way danron did in the games #god.... god it was so cool #but also rlly terrible cause there was constant clashing and fights and discourse lmao

now that the ithaca saga is out i'd like to just put it out there that, in the original text, after they reunite odysseus and penelope immediately run off to fuck - obviously (20 years at sea away from your wife call that the wettest dry spell mankind's ever seen). BUT while they're getting all hot and heavy, athena decides to put her owl motif to good use and wingman for odysseus by quite literally holding off the dawn until they're fully satisfied (od. 23.345-248). which is just. what a way to end off one of the greatest pieces of storytelling in human history

#my art #jujutsu kaisen #jjk #jjk fanart #jujutsu kaisen fanart #yuji itadori #itadori yuuji #jjk yuuji #been trying some stuff out in an attempt to beat the artblock out of myself with hammers #and i LOVE how it looks but god it takes so long painting like this #i had a ref style i was going for that was a lot more washed out and watercoloury #and to be fair my take on it did start out looking more adjacent to that #u can still kinda see remnants of the initial watercolour washes in the collar of yuuji's jacket in th bottom one #but it Did Not Last fhdjfjjg what can i say im a gouache/oils gal #i can't use soft greys and watery inks i need stark blacks i need the reddest red the colour wheel will provide #one thing i did keep from the refs were the sharp prickly fine lines i think those look real cool against textured colour blocks #anyway ive also been having a lot of fun playing with rly rly harsh lighting on the hair #and even thinner linework put down after the colour as opposed to before #probably one of the reasons why it takes a lot longer but also it mimics traditional art a lot more #ill probably continue playing around with this sort of render ! or at least keep elements of it

i feel like we gloss over the first few pages of SoN FAR too much. i mean, take percy’s name out and i would think it’s all about hercules. the book opens by dropping banger after banger regarding percy’s recent escapades, as if this is some epic greek myth.

like how did rick just casually slip in that percy strangled a sea monster with his bare hands (no biggie) and we as the readers were just like “sounds right, anyway—”
