#dungeon meshi #kabru #laios touden #falin touden #Happy Thistle Thursday once again. Have I been holding on to this comic for several weeks? Sure have!#I forgot how long it takes for Chimera Falin to come into play.#I still really love my 'better drawn' art of her - unfortunately it was several weeks too early for the anime only folks.#Slowly getting the hang of drawing Laios. I don't know why I struggle so much but I am getting...somewhere.#Meta time: God damn I love how the chimera shows off the expertise and gap between Kabru and Laios.#The truth is: they are both *right* and they are both *wrong*.#This creature is a combination of monster and human and they only have the skillset to deal with one of those.#Kabru goes for all the human vitals - but she isn't human.#Laios tries to approach her as a monster and is struck down by the humanity he sees in her.#She is something new that defies what they *both* understand about the world. And that makes her such a perfect antagonist.#The damsel was the dragon all along!#...She is really so cute though. Terrifying! But adorable. I am so excited to see the boom of fanart for her.

#my art #jujutsu kaisen #jjk #jjk fanart #jujutsu kaisen fanart #yuji itadori #itadori yuuji #jjk yuuji #been trying some stuff out in an attempt to beat the artblock out of myself with hammers #and i LOVE how it looks but god it takes so long painting like this #i had a ref style i was going for that was a lot more washed out and watercoloury #and to be fair my take on it did start out looking more adjacent to that #u can still kinda see remnants of the initial watercolour washes in the collar of yuuji's jacket in th bottom one #but it Did Not Last fhdjfjjg what can i say im a gouache/oils gal #i can't use soft greys and watery inks i need stark blacks i need the reddest red the colour wheel will provide #one thing i did keep from the refs were the sharp prickly fine lines i think those look real cool against textured colour blocks #anyway ive also been having a lot of fun playing with rly rly harsh lighting on the hair #and even thinner linework put down after the colour as opposed to before #probably one of the reasons why it takes a lot longer but also it mimics traditional art a lot more #ill probably continue playing around with this sort of render ! or at least keep elements of it

sometimes i randomly remember how insane maggie stiefvater was for making ronan lynch—a man that can create reality—a man of god, when he himself is a god of a man. then to take this man and have him be not only in love with, but a literal soulmate of a man named adam. parrish. adam parrish. who, mind you, lives above ronan's very own place of worship. and is the namesake of the first of mankind that the bible says god made from the literal dust of the ground (adam parrish: comes from nothing, hair "dusty" in color) and appoints him to care for the garden of eden (adam parrish: sacrifices himself to ronan's sentient forest). then has adam viewing ronan as a god and ronan saying "maybe he dreamt (created)" adam???? like who just fucking writes that and goes about their life?

#if i think about them too long i start going actually insane #maggie pay for my therapy bills please #me and my ignored religious trauma are literally have never been able to handle it #the raven cycle #pynch #ronan lynch #adam parrish #and the fact that i read the series pretty soon after i realized that pretending i believed in god was doing more harm than good and left #i was still a kid and had very bad undiagnosed ocd that made my implusive thoughts surrounding hell and eternal damnation and the end days #and it terrified me so much as a queer trans kid to realize i didnt believe but still had thoughts of that in my head and then to read this #series like a year or 2 later was brain altering for me #anyways where was i going with this #ahahahha #im having a moment #adam's last name is pretty self explanatory too like....miss girl
