someone less sleep deprived than me has to make a post about how clearly this year’s tandem has managed to unlock the ancient leafs goalie magic that has been laying dormant for several decades. my working theory is the ever hungry and powerful magic that lurks beneath the ice of sba saw two beautiful boys who refused to break or give in to despair despite everything fate has thrown at them and went ‘oh finally. i’ve been waiting for you.’
#the thing about the leafs is that they ARE cursed but they are also magical#it’s just that the magic of sba is possessive as fuck. she scares people. goalies of the modern age have only used her powers sparingly.#but joey and anthony have a /hunger/ and oh. oh does she know what it means to hunger.#it didn’t work last season because sadly sammy was too busy having to undo the hex he got hit with during the off season#and sadly the magic of sba requires TWO goalies to give her their hearts for her magic to work#but that doesn’t mean she didn’t love him… he’ll always be the goalie that helped her boys break the 19 year curse after all#m speaks#love thy goalie
