Cannot tell whether or not he's tripped because of how light headed he is

once again, phrase repetition (‘I can do this’)

this is about Black Mesa itself, but they changed the line from ‘all I know, this guy's been killing my buddies’ (or smth like that) to ‘all I know, this guy's been killing marines’

I'm just gonna quote the whole line here and then go and talk about the bits I want to cause that will be easier than pausing and going

“You… You gun down unarmed, innocent people without a second thought. You think I'm the one responsible for the bloodshed? But only now are you stopping to think about what you're doing? But your uncertainty is irrelevant. Innocent people are dead because of you. Blood is on your hands. Nothing will change that. And for that, you all deserve to die. And look at this! You bastards tried so hard to stop me from getting here, from launching this rocket. You did everything you could, and it wasn't enough.”

“Innocent people are dead because of you. Blood is on your hands.” It sounds more like he's talking about himself more-so than the marines

“And for that, you all deserve to die.” Like in episode 26, he's just so mad. There's nothing but pure contempt in his voice

That entire line just, feels like a major shift for Stark's character and god I just need him to get therapy

“Me- sorry, Freeman, not getting here.” There's, no real reason to make the distinction? They want Freeman but you're still the one getting stopped

Again, not the episode itself but I really like the weapon holstering animation

Is not even sure that firing the rocket was worth it.

Also, not about the episode itself but man Anions voice acting in this ep sorry I really like this ep

Wakes up due to a flashback (I think I hear someone faintly going ‘you'll pay for what you've done’ at the end of it)

This entire episode is just, such a good look into Stark's character

Tried to be the hero so he wouldn't go crazy because of everything

Not going through everything because he truly wants to save everyone, more-so trying to save himself

Final notes:🙏 go watch this series. OK no, for real, Stark is such an interesting little creature and it's so fun watching the quality of the episodes increase as the series goes on. Might comes back to these notes when reprise/the rest of the series comes out but, idk. Also there's no way he's getting out of Black Mesa without major hearing damage my fucking god

Anxiety's anxiety attack gave me a visceral reaction and literally made me cry because of how similar it was to how i experience anxiety/panic attacks, and i just relate to her so much in general with her planning and obsession to be perfect and in control. i also really appreciate how she wasnt seen as a fully "bad" emotion either, and that sometimes anxiety can be necessary and helpful. i just really enjoy her as a character because when i was younger it was rare to see anxiety/panic attacks in kids movies, and at that time i was dealing regular and debilitating anxiety/panic attacks and severe anxiety in general, like to the point that i was agoraphobic. it made me wish i had this movie when i was a kid to know i wasn't broken, but it makes me happy that kids have this movie now. but yea anxiety is a comfort character now, i will literally MAKE a plushie of her if i get more obsessed with her

when toshiro got on laios ass for being inconsiderate and never thinking about how his actions affect others like he was mean abt it but hes not wrong. Thats a pretty major character flaw and a pattern of behavior for laios — w not choosing jobs that made money for namari who is in a pretty dire financial situation where she cant even get off the island and has to go adventuring in the dungeon to get out of debt, who even explicitly brought this up, eating marcilles familiar immediately even tho she was attached to it, kidnapping shuro into his party and putting him in life threatening situations without like really checking he wanted to be there…?, wanting to see if izutsumi has more than one set of nipples when dehumanization is a HUGE huge issue for her the list goes on and on and on. Like when a friend does this to you its just kinda annoying but when ur the leader u really should be checking if everyones needs r met without them telling u. Like the autism plays a factor for sure, his cultural upbringing plays a factor for sure, but as ppl regardless I think u gotta step up to meet the needs of ppl in the moment or realize u shouldnt be calling the shots. just bc its influenced by factors out of ur control does not make it not a serious character flaw. And its written as such in the story.

i'll write a proper long post about this thats more detailed eventually, but another deliberate way hannibal manipulated will in s1 is by blurring the lines between their therapy sessions conversations about will's emotions and killers' emotions/motivations.

for example:

will is frantic and traumatized by his hallucination of killing the girl that georgia madchen killed in 1x10. hannibal responds to that, then relates will's experience to the killers experience. uses the word delusion as a bridge. this prompts will to dig further into the killer's head. while he's responding, will is closing his eyes and staring off into the distance, as if he is seeing what the killer is seeing. then, using the word lonely as a bridge, he brings the subject back to will.

hannibal does this constantly.

even in episode two, the second time they had ever been alone in hannibal's office together, hannibal does this.

will is frantic and traumatized from his hallucination of hobbs in the grave of one of the mushroom garden people. hannibal just barely talks him down from it, then instantly changes the subject to the killer. forcing will back into the killer's head. then changes the topic to will again. blurring the lines between them, again, and again, and again.
