As a Brazilian, I'm genuinely so happy and emotional about how the qsmp fandom and creators welcomed and accepted the Brazilian streamers.

When they first got announced I was rlly hyped but also so scared that they would be reduced to "the lound and annoying Brazilians". I was afraid the other creators would think we were too much, that our bits were unfunny and we would just be the but of the joke every time. Expecialy with them joining later and making a base together, though they would not be seen as individuals and just as a collective stereotype.

But it was the opposite!! The other creators do see every br streamer as their own individual person and character, and they do think they are funny!! And so do the fandom!

Philza finds Forever's yandere bit funny and bad and him get along being tryhards with the mods. The fandom is impressed with cellbit's puzzle and arg solving brain and he got immediately integrated with the theory guys. Pac and Mike are not being mistreated as duo and they get to stream in their very specific. Everyone got emotional about Felps being abducted by the federation after asking to protect Richarlyson and joined in on the search.

And even on our more actually lound humor, they get the joke. The other ccs join in on singing random funk lyrics and play it on Casualonas, Roier sings "Ai Preto" all the time for no reason. We cuss and scream of excitement and its not looked down upon.

I feel like the server being created by a Mexican and having a lot of latinos since day one definitely helped on this, and Quackity's decisions on who to invite were spot on, because ppl got along in such a fun and nice way.

I dont think qsmpwatcher who never see philza with wings realize how actual powerful he is. The whole his character with wings come from his liking of using elytra so efficiently as if 'he was born with it'

It's not a bit why people hyping phil up so much about using wings he genuinely amazing with using elytra as in combat and etc.

The famous one is his terra swoop force run first try 0 death and he not even serious about it lmao he just going at his own pace enjoying the view

his whole 'angle of death' are nickname given by technoblade during the smpe! by him wearing elytra all the time and swoop killed ppl in one hit with it.

( The one ppl see the most is when smpe!wil steal dragon eggs from them and phil swoop in one shot him in a matter of second)

His character since then always have wings and usually describe to be a really long black feather wings resemble crows feathers. ( Noted: He never stated to be crow hybrid so all we known for sure is he a winged human lmao )

and in the server that doesn't give access to the end realms he give a detailed of what happened to his wings

q!Philza's wings got clipped by the federations after he woke up in the trains ( he stated this since the start of the <edit> qsmp on 20th may! 5months ago :D )

And it not just his wings but also his mannerism while playing. Perching in higher place, his character doesn't like plain glass

To be noted that he is aware of how bird is and play it into his character ; hint how bird are under stress will picks out all of its feathers, slowly having more aggressive behavior and being wild bird will get fucked up by being in a cage. He is aware of all of it :D

So us crows seeing that the admin adding wings to the bird hybrid is very exciting to us since it always been a huge lore on phil's character. And they work on wings are so amazing and beautiful too. I am so excited for stuff in the future!

Bagi made some excellent points about the nature of lore and character expectations on the qsmp today, and I have some thoughts:

You can tell that straight-to-streaming shows have rotted ppls brains when it comes to media literacy, people don't give themselves time to think about what's going on in regards to lore and just jump to immediately wanting to know all of the answers. The characters don't work like that! People don't work like that, there are so many factors on the qsmp that require a lot of thorough investigating whenever something happens, and it's especially valuable to remember that canonically, a lot of the members have been here a lot less than others, they don't know everything about every character, every event that has shaped dynamics on the server. Metagaming is the most annoying thing for a chat to do; you may think you're helping speed things along, but it just ruins so much, particularly in roleplay where genuine reactions are SO key to shaping where a story goes.

Theories are so fun to have whilst we wait for an arc to play out, because there's so much fun in not knowing, and finding things out along with the character you choose to watch, even if you know certain aspects from other qsmp streamers. However, a character, or worse, the person playing them shouldn't be berated for simply not knowing everything. It is a privilege that our qsmp cc's are so dedicated to doing lore for us, it's not something they're obligated to do at all, and some people take it far too much for granted.

(it's also a given to not expect lore all the time!! the dynamics of the cc's on the server have become so strong bc of the meetups, etc, you are not entitled to receive lore all the time, just let your cc's be silly sometimes!)

obviously we know that the Federation has other locations that they run similar to how they run quesadilla, but how do you guess they get subjects for those? For some of them do you think they just take subjects they already have like hybrid experiments and throw them in? Or does the process change based on the general idea behind each location? Quesadilla was advertised as a perfect getaway vacation, what if another place was advertised as a unique wild-life expedition, or what Panacea did in opq where they promised money to struggling ppl if they signed up for their projects.

Do you think they run entertainment programs as well ShowFall-Media-style? Do they have Federation issued missing posters or hotlines? Do they have their hands in general authorities or are they a separate entity the Feds can simply influence through bribing or in-house plants? I like to imagine they're a pretty big deal in the modern world, like Google or Disney or whatever other world-ruling corporation you can think of.

BRO HOW DO YOU IMAGINE THE AVERAGE PERSON IN THIS WORLD IS?? Like there's no way no one makes conspiracy theories about the Feds and what they're really up to. Or random rare sighting videos of q!Bad or q!Antoine or maybe even Code monsters if they reach that far. We know Lovejoy is canon and literally funds parts of the Federation so there could be conspiracies about them too. That coupled with the parts of the cast who are said to be just regular guys before all of this, were there ppl that knew them and had genuine connections w/ them before their disappearance? THE TRUE CRIME COMMUNITY WOULD BE ABSOLUTELY INSANE IN THIS UNIVERSE AND WE ALL KNOW IT OMG.

All the more fantastical elements that are presented as just natural functions of the world as well. Like all the different supernatural or inhuman species just hanging around. Do you think Nightmare Stalkers could be major problem anywhere, or just some fucked up urban legend? All the different gods, are there different religions for each of them? What would those customs & worship methods be like? Do you think anyone has sightings of the actual literal Angel of Death on camera just buying a coffee or some shit?

I think I’ve watched 95% of all of Roier’s qsmp streams, I’m just missing a few that I watched Cellbit’s pov of, and then the first week of qsmp streams. He was my first Hispanic pov, and I chose right because he’s the guy that stayed! :D

I have learned some very useful phrases in Spanish by watching his streams! Like, “No mames”, and “culero”. But also I’ve picked up on a lot of Spanish that I legitimately don’t know how to write because I only know what it sounds like! Like when he’s like “I don’t know” or “Look at this!” or “It’s a joke!”, stuff like that

I’ve been teaching myself Spanish via duolingo since November because I’d been watching Quackity’s Karmaland series for like six months at that point and I decided I should start learning what he was actually saying, and I. Have only had duolingo. Lol. Which sucks because they keep shuffling lessons around and randomly setting me back three weeks during a lesson shuffle and I don’t even know how to count to ten yet, but that’s fine because I know what a goddamn bolígrafo is

See the thing is with streaming its going to die regardless, yes companies handing out less contracts is killing it further but its already dying at a fast rate? I'm not a stream hater either btw I really enjoy them but like. For example. 2020, 2021? When school was remote and I only ever worked mornings because of covid hours? I was clocked into that Philza 8hr stream DAILY. I was scheduling my classes around those streams so I could do homework while listening/watching. Went as far as to use my monthly speaking privilge to ask Phil what date British Daylight Savings began so I could keep my schedule clear. The second everything was no longer remote, and store hours went back to normal, I maybe caught 2, 3, maybe 4 streams in that year before I decided enough was enough about QSMP and I LOVE hardcore content.

From a company standpoint I can see why YT may not be interested in handing out streamer contracts anymore. Like Dreamie and a few others they're recognizing the Covid Number Boom is over- but unlike Dreamie, because theyre a corporation, they can't just "stick it out" and "recelebrate milestones". They have a "bottom line" to protect and they're not getting that same sweet sweet ad revenue from streams because of decreased viewer counts. Esp bc people don't just go back and watch vods unless there's a REAAAALLY good reason to. So no ad viewership there either. They're going to go back to relying on videos (and unfortunately probably shorts as well, I hate the tiktok-ification of every socmed site) to keep their ad revenue up, especially with the battle of ad blockers. I see more ad and monitization deals being handed out.

With streams (bc vod watching is lowkey practically nonexistant) not being in high demand bc of time constraints (happening while busy, timezones issues) the demands for videos will be higher as videos are ALWAYS readily available. Someone uploads at midnight your timezone? I mean it'll be there when you wake up, you won't have "missed" anything like you would have a livestream. Get a video schedule set out and you're GOLDEN- the first thing I do when I get home from work is check if a handful of youtubers have uploaded to put on to watch. If not, I rewatch some of my fav vids.

Also psychologically I actually think this is for the better of all CCs as a whole. Streaming, esp for some of the hourly requirements some of these ppl either HAVE to hit to get paid or WILLINGLY put themselves through (Tubbo) you have to wear your persona the ENTIRE time. You have to make sure you don't slip up that ENTIRE time. You have to be entertaining the ENTIRE time. You have to filter yourself because it's all live. To me this just sounds like what I do on a daily basis masking my audHD and that shit is so tiring and it's why I could NEVER be a streamer. If you're recording videos you can control what goes out. You don't have to wear whatever persona you decide to put on for 8hrs for a stream, you can record 3 hours of footage and then be done for the day, and that can either be one video or multiple depending on a lot of factors. Accidentally say your mom's name? Cut the clip. Bit isn't funny? Cut the clip. They will still have to actively filter themselves yes but for a much less amount of time. In the end CCs will have a lot more mind power that they're not using up to take care of themselves. I genuinely think it's psychologically better for them all.

It's unfortunate that the streaming industry is going to collapse this way. But also seeing how the communities heavily affected by streaming are more drama filled than communities w/o streaming, I'm lowkey hoping it's for the best. Pulling the plug like this imo is a mercy kill.

I don't think the streaming scene will collapse entirely but I do think that it will become more advantageous to be a youtuber because people have found that to be the most consistent for many years as a CC rather than streams which require a lot of additional things (like you mentioned)

And I feel like we are seeing quite a few people say they're going to prioritize youtube more in the future which seems to be the beginning of that transition

I am curious if twitch will ever try to keep certain big-viewer streamers on the platform with 'kick-style' ($$$$) contracts.

Breaking my tumblr hiatus to put out some thoughts on the Dream/QSMP situation.

First off, personally I think Dream could've gotten his point/intention across without going into depth about stuff behind the scenes, which is frankly no one's business, either way it's the fans' response to it that I'm disgusted by.

Wild that instead of criticising the actual people who are stalking/harrasing etc, Dream/his family, fans are instead trying to villainise and put blame on someone who hasn't said a single thing to incite that behaviour. Not to mention these same fans are the ones to respond to situations where Dream 'fans' are the instigators with 'he can't control every one of his fans, don't blame him'. But I guess that's out the window when it comes to another cc, even someone who's actually done nothing inciteful in comparison to Dream who has tended to stir the pot in the past.

Also assumptions and weird shit being said about Quackity's relationships with other unrelated ccs is peak parasocial and ignorant. You don't know these people, calling Q a cunt over your perceived friendship breakup between him and GNF is actually insane.

Finally, it's interesting how through all the controversies and criticism Dream has gone through these very fans of him are happy to shit talk and drop Quackity over a situation like this. I've seen ppl talking about how big of a 'fan' they were of Q and how much of a positive impact he's had on them say that they've 'lost all respect for him', 'his name leaves a bad taste in their mouth', called him a 'snake'. Dream has had some serious controversies and allegations over the past few years but Quackity not replying to Dream's dms is where yous draw the line?

At the end of the day, feel how you want to feel about Quackity and the situation but the absolute hypocrisy of some of Dream's fans and the out of pocket ass shit they're saying, about someone who is typically never involved in conflict/controversy and is universally well liked by majority of ccs and fans, is mad fucked up and genuinely embarrassing

Slight rant incoming, I'm genuinely starting to dislike qsmp. And, don't get me wrong, I think the premise is really cool and unique. Good on quackity for that, it's smart and it did in fact "unite" the different Minecraft communities.

However, the fans are honestly starting to act like early dsmptwt except worse. Because at the very least old dsmptwt at it's height didn't put themselves on a higher pedestal above past servers. Something I'm noticing with qsmp fans is that those who were ex dsmp fans treat the server like it's taboo, like it's something to be ashamed of and try to bury. Even going as far as to harass people who are still in fact interested in dsmp or post some things related to it from time to time

I'm honestly not interested in the qsmp, it's just not my cup of tea personally and it's specifically harder to keep up anyway with the different time zones from all the ccs. But now it's getting to a point from going neutral about its fan base to disliking it due to its fans and how people treat dsmp fans. Like yeah, who heartedly, fuck dream. But just because of one gross white ass man doesn't mean suddenly everyone and the server are/is horrible.

You’re the blog I scroll through the most for QSMP related stuff and I really like how you engage in the content and I don’t have any irl friends who watch it so 😅 but I’ve just seen all of the Missa stuff (which I wish people could engage with media without being freaks like actually leave the CCs alone it’s not hard) but the whole thing has kinda made me wonder if maybe it’s an audience thing country/language wise? I really hope this doesn’t come across as offensive or malicious in any way towards the Spanish speaking community because that’s sincerely not what I’m intending but like 99% of the players who don’t want to log in because of pressure from the audience about the eggs are Spanish speaking creators (Rubius, Spreen and now Missa) and don’t get me wrong EVERY chat in every language can be intense and has had to be “told off” by their CC but it doesn’t seem to have affected the English, French or Brazilian CCs as much as the Spanish. I’m just wondering if maybe Spanish speaking audiences don’t have as much experience with role play stuff so maybe they just are very overly invested in the egg stuff and can’t separate it from the actual CC (also this is coming from someone who genuinely loves the eggs as characters and the stories they bring to the whole thing) idk sorry for babbling but I just wonder if there’s any correlation or anything 🤷🏼‍♀️

Alrighty so. I see you don't have much experience with the Hispanic side of Minecraft twitch, so lemme give u a quick rundown

Actually! Hispanics have a LOT of experience with rp servers, Karmaland is the biggest rp series in Hispanic twt and Vegetta created it! Quackity was in the last season (Karmaland V) and it was an experience that really helped him set down the rules for QSMP and how he'd want to direct it. Other servers such as the one Roier played before the qsmp (sorry i forgot the name) or even squidcraft and minecraft extremo are other examples of it

But i think the difference is that Hispanic mc servers usually have a minimum playing time requirement per week, so the participants usually have to play 3 times per week, as an example. So now, added to the Loud™ part of hispanic watchers that would annoy the streamers, there's also added the new audience from English speakers and, yes, even Brazilians, that probably caused this wave of pressure to be tenfold

Also, about the eggs, i trust the writer's team to get a way out in a way that manages to be a middle ground to everyone, let them cook, yk?

u know ive been thinking abt this since yesterday, but i havent seen much ppl talk freely on their blogs in pt, and a really cool aspect of twt i feel like is how everyone just speaks their own language, also ive seen some brazilians try to post here but get demotivated bc they cant find themselves, and idk, maybe its just how tumblr works but for the months ive been here i have found plenty of brs and hispanics but everyone always defaults to english here, which might be the reason ppl feel like they cant find anyone from where they live (also idk abt this at all but i have a feeling that the ppl here that only talk in a language that isnt english get looked over immensely, but again thats just how i see it i dont really know any stats or numbers to back this)

And that really actually genuinely sucks because I think that everyone should be free to speak in their own languages here :(

I think that if we get a mass migration of Brazilians or French-speakers or whoever that we should do a qsmp blog intro day again where we all introduce ourselves in our native languages and where the new guys introduce themselves in THEIR native languages so we can find our respective language communities! That could be super cool!!
