Hello everyone! It's rare for me to do a damage showcase of any kind. Doing something like this scares me very much😭 But, I was having fun and I wanted to show off my Scara to all of you. (I'm farming Ocean Hues Clam for Kokomi, since I heard whispers of a rerun for her soon.)

BIRTHDAYS | SAGAU Childe
🍊 content: SAGAU! Childe x Reader
✦ content w: none! it’s fluff sorta
July 20.
It was the day that you looked forward the most every year.
Back then, July 20 was just the same as any other day for you—maybe another boring day of school, another day of work, or maybe even a local holiday. Whatever it was, it bored you (—unless it’s also your birthdate, I’m sorry).
That was the case until he came out.
He piqued your interest, even his story quest made you invested in him—more than you expected. You wished on his banner, joking about how you’ll get him first pull.
Your jaw drops—you got him at first pull.
You stared at the screen in disbelief—eyes glued, and jaw parted in awe as Childe came home in all his ginger glory. Eventually, you farmed enough resources so that you could main him through and through.
Moving forward to the present, you see a few tiktoks showing that other users had little to no crit rate for their damage showcases. However, that wasn’t the case for you.
Childe would always crit when you used him, especially when you played co-op with friends. Oh, how you loved it. In a way, it made you feel a bit special—though you later thought that you were just being delusional.
Then the clock struck 12am, a quick notification coming from your calendar saying that it was now July 20. You got out of bed, excitedly making your way to the kitchen with a smile as you hold a few sheets of paper and a pen in hand.
You take out a small cake from the fridge—decorated with orange frosting and a blue narwhal shaped decoration sitting at the top.
Some oranges from the nearby fruit bowl for good luck and prosperity.
A bottle of vodka and a shotglass—because you think Childe likes alcohol like a typical russian.
The mini speaker from one of the shelves so that you could play ed sheeran songs.
And lastly, his newly posted birthday art that you printed in high resolution just a few moments ago after it was posted on Genshin’s socials.
Now everything was complete. You place everything into position, lights dimmed as you used candles—the scented ones that smelled like the ocean.
It was your 4th time celebrating his birthday now, and you did this little celebration annually since his release, as if it were some kind of ritual.
Sure, it wasn’t anything too fancy, like the ones you see on social media where they fill the table to the brim for Childe’s birthday. But you were doing this out of pure love for Childe.
You set the pen and papers aside as you began to sing him a happy birthday song. You laugh awkwardly since you celebrated alone, and it wasn’t even your birthday. This was why your friends called you delusional, but you didn’t mind it—not when it made you happy, and how it was a way you could express the love you have to offer for Childe.
Now midnight had long passed, and ed sheeran was playing over the speaker. The cake had been eaten in half, an orange 3/4th finished, and the vodka nearly half. You cursed yourself for continuing to take shots earlier despite having such low alcohol tolerance.
Yet that didn’t stop you from finishing the last act of celebrating Childe’s birthday—his birthday letter.
You sat at the counter, head rested on one of your hands as your elbow sat shakily on the counter. Your other hand was busy scribbling lazily on the paper—handwriting coming off as an imitation of cursive, but it was readable still.
There were about two or more letters that you had already finished, and now you were writing another one as Photograph began to play on the speaker.
You wrote, and wrote, and wrote.
Expressing your heart out in sweetness, bitterness, and affection, all directed towards Childe alone. You wrote about your days and experiences after the last celebration of his birthday—you were writing to him as if he were real.
You finished the last letter, ending it with your signature. You sighed before chuckling sadly, knowing that the letters won’t reach him—and if they do, you knew he might not acknowledge them.
You were lovesick for someone who wasn’t real, someone who doesn’t share the same skies as you do.
On the other hand, inside one of the homes of Snezhnaya. Childe is woken up on his birthday by Teucer, who shakes him in excitement, reminding him that it was his birthday today. Childe smiled at his younger brother, ruffling his hair as he says that he’ll come down in five minutes to celebrate his birthday with his family—he needed some sleep, he had just returned home after a fatui mission after all.
Teucer agrees and exits Childe’s room, and finally the ginger makes a move. He sits up and stretches lightly, ruffling his hair a bit as he lightly pinches the bridge of his nose. He makes it a mental note to keep the promise he made with Teucer to go ice fishing the other day.
He sighs before he glances at his pillow. He wonders if there would be letters today as well since it was his birthday.
Ever since he started to receive letters under his pillow from his 21st birthday (2021) from an unknown person, he began to receive them annually. The number of letters always gradually increasingly, and always coming from the same person.
He remembered that he tried to track the sender of the letter down, only to come to a dead end every time. Eventually, he just found himself looking forward to receiving them, ocassionally reading them from time to time during his breaks.
Maybe it came from you? The one from across the screen?
He sees you, yet he can’t seem to communicate with you. He hears you as well, and he can’t help but recall the sounds you make when you have your little victories with him after boss fights.
He initially gave it some thought, and later came to a conclusion that maybe it did come from you—since you rarely ever come online when it’s his birthday, but when you do it’s usually at the last remaining hours of the day.
He slides a hand under the pillow, almost immediately feeling what seemed to be like three or five sets of letters. He chuckled quietly to himself as he took them out, revealing an actual number of 6 letters.
He reads them one by one, laughing a bit every now and then from the jokes you made, confused at some of the ‘references’ that you made—who was ed sheeran?
Then, there’s the part where you wrote down about how you felt towards him. His smiles fade into a poker face as he reads them with an unreadable expression—he’s unsure of what he’s supposed to feel.
He doesn’t think that he shares the same feelings that you had for him, at least, that’s what he believes. All that he knows is that you’re worlds different from him—existentially speaking. So, he’s never thought about it in the first place.
He’s thought of you as a comrade more than anything else.
Yet the letters he receives from you never fails to include such feelings—the same love and affection directed towards him, all written differently over the years.
“Ajax!” He heard his mother call him from downstairs, it seemed like they were growing a bit impatient. He looked at the clock on the wall, finally realizing it had been more than 5 minutes as he’d been busy reading your letters.
“Coming!” He responds plainly before he lets out a small yawn.
He stands up from the bed and leaves it in its messy glory as he approached a wooden box that sat idly on the nearby shelf.
He opens the box, revealing all the other letters that he received from you since his 21st birthday. He stores the newly received letters on top of the others, stacking them neatly so that it doesn’t look as messy as his bed.
There were now 15 letters in the box, and in his mind he was still counting.
He closes the lid as he took out a shirt from the closet, putting it on before he exits his room.
He somehow feels guilty, or rather he feels weirdly uneasy that he can’t return the favor nor your feelings. He silently hopes that you’d grow out of it, that it’ll pass in the end.
Yet a part of him also doesn’t want that to happen. He’s somehow conflicted.
He temporarily pauses in front of the window across his bedroom door. He looks up at the sky, fully knowing that celestia isn’t quite real—that it only existed in this confined world that he was living in.
He wished maybe the skies that you had in yours were brighter, fresher (and doesn’t lag).
Childe proceeded to walk away from the window and towards the stairs. A little smile plastered on his face as he comes down to greet his large family. He opens his arms as they swarm him with a loving hug.
He began to think.
Maybe it would be nice if you were here too.
✦ “delusional” oh you mean mentally unstable ^v^?
✦ childe it’s fine if you don’t love me back, i have enough love for the both of us TwT <3
✦ is it obvious that he’s my comfort character? what an odd guy, idk how he became my comfort character (i love him)

How Genshin's Characters would react to seeing your build
Character: Scaramouche/Wanderer, Albedo, Bennett, Heizou
A/n: Hello it's been a while, hope everyone is doing well. I'm really happy to see likes and reblogs on my last posts, it means a lot to me ❤️ My life is getting a bit overwhelming so It's harder to write anything recently. But writing about fictional characters like this brings comfort to me. Hope you enjoy this story.
Scaramouche/Wanderer
The last thing you have ever wanted to happen if you somehow, one day meet your favorite Genshin's character is for them to find out your build on them. It will be even worse if it's Scaramouche.
If you have a good build on him, a nice ratio, constellations, or his signature weapon, Scaramouche might appear fairly pleased. He will act unimpressed anyway. However, if Scaramouche is the only character or one of the few characters you had seriously invested in, he would definitely show off to other characters how obsessed you are with him.
Don't worry if you are a f2p player (just like me) because Scaramouche won't judge you, except when you have a bad build on him. Even though it's probably not your fault that Rukkhashava Mushroom is the worst to collect or your bad luck on artifacts, he will mock at you. As rude and mean as Scaramouche is, he won't let this slide. But he is also a cutie who has no idea how to comfort or encourage people, he will use his way to help you build him again.
Just in case you have c2 Raiden or a godly build on her, please try your best to hide it from him if you don't want this to become the fourth betrayal.
Heizou
After seeing all the five stars artifacts and best weapons on his build, the detective is just too stunned to speak. Although he would hardly say anything emotional to you, but deep down, he would feel sensational and grateful for how you did your best for him.
If you have an unfinished build on him because of those damn Onikabuto, he will give you a look of surprise and say something like "Onikabuto is everywhere in Inazuma Y/n". He just doesn't get it but he will help you at the end with his detective skills. He will charge you some mora thou.
If you have a godly build on him, Heizou will secretly admire how talent and hard-working you are. You might try to tell him that the only reason why you can build him so well is that he is already a strong character in the first place, but Heizou won't believe it since he's only a detective in lore. You suggest that the best way to prove it is to do a showcase and he reluctantly agrees with you. So you call Mona, Bennet, and other support characters to come to help you.
Heizou still happily does showcase with you, but little did he know, he'd better crit or he will have to do this a bunch of times.
Albedo
As gentlemanly as he is, Albedo would never judge you, especially when he understands all the uphill struggles you have to face if you want to build him well.
Albedo would not hesitate to shower you with compliments if you have a good build for him no matter which build it is (support, dps, sup-dps, or even a healer). He would likely praise you for the smallest thing, a max-level talent, a great piece of artifact, a high-level weapon, or a good team composition. In Albedo's eyes, you are nothing different from a real scientist or a researcher because of the way you calculated to balance all his statistics. Just tell him your difficulties, and Albedo will sit down and seriously discuss it with you.
If your build is unfinished or you don't have a good artifact set yet, he will help you in the domain. Albedo would try to calculate the artifact drop rate or even the weapon banners' rate to help your bad luck.
Bennett
Bennett will be in disbelief when he realizes he is in most of your team compositions, especially damage showcase teams. "Y-you want me in your team?" He says.
He would likely to get extremely emotional if you give him 4 pieces of Nobeless Oblige artifact. He might feel he doesn't deserve all those five stars artifacts and weapons, or worry his bad luck will affect your team, but you are quick to reassure Bennett. You claim that Bennett is the character that actually carried you when you were still a newbie to this game and how Bennett keeps your team surviving in the Abyss.
He would not mind if you merely build him with four stars artifacts or a low-level weapon. If you ask for his help, he will be even more than willing to be your companion. Although it could be a pretty tough journey since you guys both have bad lucks.

If you could make a Genshin OC (Vision and all) with the intention of said OC being there to support a specific character, who would they be and who's the one who they're connected to? Asking because I have a brain worm that goes "If Neuvillete used his Hydro Authority to make Furina's Summons into humans it would be hilarious if Gentilhomme Usher was a Pyro swordsman who's canonical weapon was the Fleuve Cendre Ferryman" and you felt like the right person to inflict said thoughts upon.
The first thought of mine is a clearly selfish pick but it would be a new Knight the joins the Outriders and supports Amber. Some eager go getter with lose connections to Hm her grandpa and wants to learn from who he considers “the best.” They would be cryo and the entire gimmick is they mark an enemy that enemy takes increased charge attack damage. Also, when said enemy is hit with a charge attack, the mark will inflict a burst of cryo damage to make setting up melt shots very easy. It could be triggered a certain number of times within a duration and defeating an enemy before the mark expires puts it on a nearby foe. So ya know…It’s kinda Yoimiya’s burst but no icd and the charge attack buff.
Them being cryo would only slightly go against Lyney’s main purpose but I guess technically he’d benefit from it. The funnier idea of this character though lies in how Yanfei’s power would inadvertently get buffed and the cryo pulses would definitely turn into the support character doing off field damage because of how much pyro Yanfei flings.
Multiple times I’ve had the unhinged thought of wishing they made a Cryo Xingqui for Yoimiya. Charlotte ironically gets very close to filling that agenda. Also if you would’ve asked me this months ago, I could’ve told you exactly who I wanted for who, but I can’t say it now because I’m aware I will get my wish soon.
Unironically, Genshin has actually been pretty good at giving me supports that I want to further my agenda. It kinda makes this question hard because I still main Chongyun and Shenhe exists lol. Gorou exists so my Noelle is great and Faruzan came with Wanderer. I want for very little. I guess if I had to make an OC for any other character to get specific gains in would be Mona taking on a proper apprentice. Not sure how they would do it, but I think it would be neat to see Mona in a teacher role.
Side tangent, Hoyo should make Alice playable and she’s the pyro premium buffer. I just feel like she’d see all kinds of pyro characters and be the one to go “You are all my kids. Go forth and destroy.” Then suddenly we’re back in the era where people are doing Diluc showcases and vaporize is people’s new religion again💀

new to genshin and confused? here's what EVERY character does! || p1 - cryo
intro is kinda long srry, if you don't want to read it all tldr this is part 1 of 7, will link previous installments in every new post.
hello! This is part 1 of a new series (idk what else to call it) i'm doing where I summarize every character's kit. It seems like a lot of people on here are new or casual/story focused players who might not be interested in reading every character's abilities.
So if you aren't too into combat and want to see what every character does to decide who you want, this post is for you!
Today i'll be looking at Cryo characters. If you want to see my posts for other elements if they are out yet, i'll be adding links to all other elements in each new installment. I'll also make a post w links to all other elements once i'm done w all 7
note: i will not be talking in depth about how strong a character is unless it is very important. mainly because the best way to have fun (for most) is by playing characters you like and also bc tier lists are often controversial and pretty much all characters if built well are viable
ALSO when i list their roles they aren't ranked in order or implying that if you need x role you should play that character. I'm just putting what I most commonly see them played in
ok enough talking, let's get into it!

I think I have to be honest with myself and say that: The moment I saw the Sumeru interlude quest and felt such a strong need to fix it that I wrote 50k in a week was the moment I think I lost interest in Genshin Impact as a story.
I knew before that story came out that Genshin had a bad rep for mental health, noting Kokomi's side story and how the solution to the mental health crisis of the soldiers in Watasumi wasn't therapy or counseling, oh no--but to give them something to essentially take their fighting spirit out on. Like okay cool but can we also have therapy for these war scarred warriors? No? Okay.
Anyway I knew before hand that Genshin's writing was not like. Great about mental health. Like they showcase mental illness well, but they don't show how to heal well at all. Wanderer's whole story being botched up and being a suicide attempted disguised as a botched-up self-sacrifice muddied the whole message about how you can't erase your past by erasing yourself, your mark on the world will still be felt. That suicide isn't the answer, that you will find a way to deal with your hurt and trauma and move forward.
Granted, Wanderer himself was always written well--it's the Traveler and Nahida and Paimon in this instance that botched up the whole fact he tried to commit existential suicide--and I really liked his and Mini Durin's story in the summer event. It felt like the writers really understand Wanderer's story and that he is a damaged but healing character who can relate to this other creation who means no harm but has been hurt in the past beyond comprehension for reasons that aren't his fault.
When everyone was talking about how Mini Durin was violent, Wanderer quickly pointed out that his actions were logical, actually. Because Mini Durin was hurt and scared and everyone else who had come into his lair aimed to kill him. His reaction wasn't just logical, it was expected, and that moment really especially reminded me how much I actually love Wanderer's story and how well he's written. He's got a scarred but gentle heart that he tries to hide away, but it shines when it really matters most.
But the sour taste in my mouth over the Traveler, Paimon and Nahida essentially ruining the Sumeru interlude quest never went away. I couldn't stand the implications that Nahida knowingly led Scaramouche to his suicide attempt, the belittlement of that attempt/not taking the attempt as a true attempt but some botched-up self-sacrifice gone wrong--it just. It felt like the higher ups were so scared to show a playable character as actively suicidal that they forced changes to the narrative that were like taking puzzle pieces from another puzzle and forcing them to fit in a new one.
There's a reason why I got so obsessed with fixing the interlude quest that I dropped everything and went insane about it.
And from there it just, kind of snowballed.
Fontaine's story was pretty good, but the huge oversight of making Fontaine uplifted on land, sitting up above a bunch of waterfalls and above most nations, and then flooding the entire nation without thinking about how every other nation would experience tsunamis thanks to that, with so much water that even the tallest structures of Fontaine were submerged, really hit me in a sour note. Like it was the first instance where I really felt the "rule of cool" overtaking logic, reason, and thoughtfulness. Like at least say there was some magical barrier protecting the other nations from the flood? Like. Something. I maintain that Fontaine should have been lower in the ground rather than higher above, but yeah.
I think in retrospect, the trial against Furina with it being a "trap" felt really upsetting too. Especially with how the preview for the final part of Fontaine's story blatantly told us that the verdict for the Hydro Archon was the death sentence. So the whole time I was watching I felt like the characters were marching her to her doom and that REALLY soured that plotline for me, especially because I love Furina as a character.
The Traveler makes me especially salty though because they've sen a human with adeptus-like strength (Shen-he, I know Hoyo has forgotten about her but like???) and a puppet becoming a god (Scaramouche) so why is it such a problem for them if a "human" was a nation's god? Like they were acting like it was a carnal sin or something, and when Furina was about to "die" they only reached out for her because they wanted answers. It felt like they didn't even care about her well being at that point.
Like having a trial against a "god" was cool, don't get me wrong, but it felt... stupid. Like I don't have any other way to put it, it just felt kind of stupid and cruel of the characters setting Furina in that trap. (Also: Hugely disappointing that Arlecchino played no part in that??)
I haven't seen much of Natlan's story, but the design choices for some of the characters were. Grating. And it finally dawned on me that I've had a problem with Genshin as a story for a while now, but I was in denial about it.
So... yeah. I think that I need to be honest with myself about how disappointing Genshin has been for me the past year or two. And I have to be honest with myself and say that I'm extremely disappointed by it. Disappointed and detached, missing the days when Genshin didn't need to care about the rule of cool and just told the story it wanted to tell.
#negative tw#genshin negative tw#not tagging this because I ain't an ass#still.#I feel like. Grief about this ngl#I miss loving Genshin#I miss enjoying the game#I miss playing it I miss writing for it I miss reading fics for it#but I feel so hollow and empty over it#orz

I surely can't speak for the whole fandom since that's subjective experience, but I find the Genshin community deeply nice. Seriously, I'm astonished. I've had 99% of good mood and support and happy interactions with random people in co-op. A vast majority of the Discord voice chats are fun and relaxing. There are really talented people in the fandom from cosplayers to editors to writers to showcase players.
And I think that it's due to the size of the player base, and the fact that Genshin is not competitive at all - it naturally takes away the possible negativity that comes with ranking, PvP, etc. The only way Genshin players can be annoying is by boasting their big damage numbers or mocking others for not doing their rotation right. But what's hilarious about that is that the majority of Genshin players don't even touch the abyss and just chill in the open world and enjoy the story.
I'm having a good time in a fandom with 40 millions daily active players and I'm so happy about it

i’m sick (still) so I’ve been playing genshin more and i absolutely love aratakki itto. his story quest is amazing. he’s just such a kind person, but at the same time a major goofball.
i haven’t really shown who i’ve gotten so far so….. here are all the 5-stars i have so far :D.
1-Tighnari
i hated that i got him instead of jean at first. if i could go back in time i’d bonk myself because i love this man so much. he’s so funny and he’s such a good character! (basically dendro ganyu)
2-Keqing
i love her, but I was really sad because i lost my yoimiya 50/50 for her 😭. i don’t really use her as much anymore not because i’m salty, but i just have characters i prefer.
3-Wanderer/Scaramouche
he was guaranteed for me and i think at first i hated playing with him. then there was an event and it showcased him better and i liked him. i gave him lost prayers and he’s doing well in the damage department. i am a little sad i couldn’t get itto tho.
4-Mona
this one hit the hardest. i lost my 50/50 to ayato 😭. i was really sad because i didn’t like mona’s play style. i like her hydro application better now, but i would have rather gotten jean or diluc or qiqi. (seriously though i only have 1 cryo character i didn’t get layla or rosaria).
5-MY FAVORITE XIAO
i am so happy i have him! he’s the best i love playing as him. i’m happy i had guaranteed. he’s so strong already 😭. i got his spear a while ago and knew i needed to pull for him when he came back.
i’ve really liked playing genshin and i’m waiting to start the sumeru archon quest until the Fontaine on starts. i just don’t want to get bored because i finished everything.
in other news i’m patiently waiting for the ayaka or eula reruns (mainly eula). maybe if she doesn’t show up i’m pulling for yelan, but i’m going to wait for the program first.
and if anyone wants to talk about genshin my asks are open
good luck to the yelan and hu tao pullers. and the xiao and alhaitham pullers 🫡.
#genshin impact#tighnari#keqing#scaramouche#mona genshin impact#xiao genshin impact#i really hope that eula comes home#i just want a 5 star claymore character#and a cryo character#please miyhoyo#i only have kaeya#adding to my collection#of hyperfixations#long post

Genshin Tier List (before 5.3)
(Not counting 5.3 charas cus there hasn't beeen enough time for me to test them out)
There's my tier list of characters battle strength based on my personal opinion and experience (might be controvercial lol).
I don't have every character and only talk about the ones I own.
I put constellations near characters for better showcase.
Just to clarify: Low investment = whatever artifacts and weapons, talents lvl 6 and barely any cons High investment = bis good artefacts, lvl 80-90, good weapons lvl 80-90, talents lvl 8-10, multiple cons for 4*
DPS Tier List
There are characters who are played on field and usually have no supportive abilities:
Tartaglia is more of an enabler, but he still has a huge nuke in his kit (his cons were an accident and don't add any damage).
Gaming might be controvercial, but I genuenly think he's pretty good, concidering the numbers I got from him on low investment.
Kaeya on this list is in fact high investment (mine is C6 and really well-build and triple crowned), so keep it in mind.
Whereas Clorinde and Cyno are on high investment, but I still can't make them do good damage, same for Wanderer.
Ningguang C6 tho is pretty good for low investment and overworld stuff (Tho I would also put her in the green tier).
Old pyros got powercrept real bad, but some are better than others, and, once again, based on low investment-good result / high investment-weak result (basically first half vs second half of the green tier).
Freminet is kinda good tho, I played him as C0 on low investment and he was okay in overworld.
Sub DPS Tier
There are characters played off-field (some use burst and leave), might have supportive abilities, but they are not counted in this tier, I only compare damage:
Bloom reactions is a difficult category to put into, as it depends of how much EM you can stack, and counting the damage bloom cores make.
Ororon surprised me greatly, but I still, after 4 years can't play Beidou properly.
Shenhe on high investment can do decent off-field damage with her ult.
Candace also surprised me, with C6 in vape teams (in my case, with Arlecchino) she can do some additional dps.
Support Tier
In this tier are only characters who have buffs/crowd control in their kit (except "carried by artifact sets" tier):
Niche tier describes dedicated supports for certain charas or elements.
I would honestly put Layla higher, as her shield is quite good.
Venti is also really good in some situations, but nowadays is a bit more niche.
In tier "carried by artifacts" there are 2 charas who have no supporting capabilities, but usable just to carry certain support sets (dendro set for Collei and natlan support set for Cachina).
Dehya has sone supporting abilities, but she gets better with certain sets (dendro for Kinich team for example)
This is it, thanks for reading!

I made (more like, saw something similar, screenshote it, and edited it because the video wouldn't let me save the original photo or ot was bad quality) a template that I saw on tiktok for HSR and Genshin
Blank versions and the Labels
Explanations from left to right, Genshin |and| HSR respectively.
First main: I don't care what excuse you're going to use. Rover, Traveler, Trailblazer, they are all the first character people choose, use, and experiment with when starting the game.
First 5★ Character: Mona. I should probably build her by now. She's used to beef up damage in some showcases. || Gepard. I still use him even after months of starting this game. If Gepard has the QiQi curse, I will gladly take your Gepard from losing your 50/50. It's not a bunch of pixels' fault that your luck is trash.
Favorite Character: Assuming you pay attention or actually follow my accounts, You Thought! But it's not Kaveh or Ayato or Al Haitham. Not right now, anyway. Wriothesley is like that older brother figure, he's going to call you a dumbass bitch, but still rip someone's lungs out for you. And I need that in my life. || Sunday. That is no surprise.
Latest Main: Ayato. He is still my best character even after binge playing for 16+ months. || Aventurine. He's just my best built.
Favorite Element/Path: Hydro is just really flexible and works with any other element. || I thought I would be an Erudition main when I first started HSR, but I gravitated towards building sustains (Preservation & Abundance characters).
Future Main: I pulled for Neuvillette because we're going to fistfight god (Celestia) together. But imagine they make Apep, the Dendro dragon, playable. 👁🫦👁 Hoyo did it for Xianyun, let's make another dragon playable. || Sunday. All of my pulls right now are for him. I refuse to pull for anyone else.
Favorite Archon/Aeon: Old but gold. Sometimes I like Venti more. || Ouroboros. THEY just reminded me of FullMetal Alchemist. 🤷♂️
Favorite nation/planet: Sumeru relaxes me, and I like the music. || I'm actually indifferent to this segment, but eh, I just put Penacony. HSR is within the radius of my burnout. Hence why I am turning to Wuthering Waves for a refresh.

moeʼs genshin teams: mono hydro
hello and welcome to the first in a series of genshin team showcases i will be doing! this was inspired by my wonderful friend @zhongscaraʼs build showcase post series. here, i hope to show a few of my favorite teams in genshin impact, how to build and play them, and why i like them so much, along with a showcase of said teams beating a bunch of bosses.
first on the list is... mono hydro!
introduction
mono hydro is a team that relies on almost purely hydro damage using some of the best units in the game, plus an anemo unit equipped with the 4-piece viridescent venerer artifact set, to provide resistance shred and crowd control (where applicable). or, there will be three characters doing hydro damage and one anemo character for grouping and to increase the hydro unitsʼ damage.
i decided to go with a team made up of yelan and xingqiu as my double hydro core providing off-field DPS and team buffs, ayato as my on-field DPS, and kazuha as my anemo crowd control unit with 4pc VV.
however, this is not the only mono hydro team. strong teams can be formed utilizing characters such as kokomi, neuvillette, childe, or furina among your hydro options and venti, sucrose, jean, or sayu for your anemo options.
character builds
all four units on this team use their “standard” builds.
YELAN
yelan uses the elegy for the end bow for its high energy recharge substat and buff providing bonus attack to the team. the best alternatives for this are the favonius warbow (which gives clear energy particles for the team) and sacrificial bow (which allows her to use her elemental skill twice). to maximize her damage, she may also use her signature weapon—aqua simulacra.
she is equipped with the 4pc emblem of severed fate artifact set for its 20% ER bonus and additional burst damage synergizing well with yelanʼs high ER needs and majority of damage output coming from her burst.
her artifact stats are HP/Hydro DMG%/CRIT—with as much ER, CRIT, and HP%, and flat HP as possible in the substats. though, as you can see, my own build is far from perfect. if you canʼt meet her ER requirements (~200%), consider using an ER sands.
XINGQIU
my xingqiu uses the sacrificial sword for its high ER substat and passive that allows him to use his elemental skill twice in quick succession (since it otherwise has a really long cooldown). the best alternative for this is the favonius sword.
he should also ideally be equipped with 4pc emblem of severed fate, but as you can see, i am lacking a piece in that department.
his artifact stats are ATK/Hydro DMG%/CRIT—with as much CRIT, ER, ATK%, and HP% as possible in the substats. if you canʼt meet his ER requirements (~200%), consider using an ER sands.
AYATO
my ayato uses the lionʼs roar sword for its high ATK% substat, but if you have the battlepass weapon the black sword or his signature haran geppaku futsu, those are much better.
ayato is really accessible to build artifact-wise. one of his best sets is 4pc gladiatorʼs finale, which you can get passively and through the artifact strongbox, for its 18% ATK stat and normal attack damage bonus. other options are 4pc heart of depth and 4pc echoes of an offering (BiS if you have under 100ms ping).
his artifact stats are ATK/Hydro DMG%/CRIT—with as much CRIT, ATK%, and flat ATK in substats as possible. my build is very barebones in this regard, but serviceable.
ayato doesnʼt need much ER, with his requirements being low to none, so you can ignore this stat as long as heʼs bursting as often as you want him to.
KAZUHA
my kazuha uses his signature weapon, freedom-sworn, with its high elemental mastery substat and passive giving a buff to the team. however, equipping him with the ER weapons favonius sword and sacrificial sword, or EM weapons iron sting and xiphosʼ moonlight is perfectly fine.
his artifact set is—no question and no alternative—4pc viridescent venerer, which provides a huge buff to swirl damage as well as resistance shred to elements swirled. this increases hydro damage dealt by the team.
his artifact stats are, if you can manage it, EM/EM/EM—with as much ER and EM as possible in the substats. CRIT is low priority but nice to have. if, like me, you can't meet his ER requirements (~200%), use an ER sands.
rotation & showcase
(notation:
Q - elemental burst
E - elemental skill
NA - normal attack
-> - switch character)
the rotation i use is:
ayato Q -> kazuha E -> xingqiu E Q -> yelan E Q -> kazuha E Q -> ayato E NA spam -> kazuha E -> xingqiu E -> yelan E, then back to start. though i screw it up sometimes.
in other words, start with ayatoʼs burst to set up, then kazuhaʼs skill to get your hydro swirl. after that, pop xingqiuʼs, yelanʼs, and kazuhaʼs bursts in that order. before each burst, you use their skill first for energy. then, with everything set up, switch back to ayato, activate his skill, and go ham. after ayatoʼs skill ends, quickly cycle through the skills of kazuha, xingqiu, and yelan for energy. by this point, everyoneʼs bursts should be back up. with that, youʼre ready to return to ayato and start the rotation anew.
disclaimer: iʼm not an expert or a theorycrafter. i donʼt know if this is the best or correct rotation; itʼs just what's comfortable and works for me.
now, for the fun part: the showcase!
hereʼs me bullying the emperor of fire and iron AKA giant pyro crab boss :D
and now here's me bullying the aeonblight drake!
aaand here's me bullying the jadeplume terrorshroom!
closing thoughts
overall, itʼs a really effortless team to play, with an easy set-up and yelan + xingqiuʼs coordinated attacks synergizing perfectly with ayato. they all also help each other generate energy, allowing a smooth rotation. the only thing you need to watch out for is your health because this team has no healer.
iʼm still practicing my rotations and improving my builds, but as it is, iʼm having a lot of fun with this team. if iʼm fortunate enough to pull several other characters to make up a second team and the matchups allow for it, i would love to use this team in the spiral abyss.
