Poseidon is the character that so many people are horny for. On Ao3, I searched "Poseidon Record of Ragnarok," and of all the characters I searched, he had the most results, >600 posts. That, while not logged in, so there's probably more locked behind the login screen. 80% of my tiktok RoR feed is Poseidon. OK, part of that is because I actively look for him, so, duh, BUT. Focusing on the other 20% of that is balanced, a combination of other characters, sprinkle Poseidon, and one very rare Brunhilde edit that made me flinch like, "Oh shit... Oh yeah, you're the main character that started this. 💀"

The new series for Wednesday is alright—it's kinda cute for your kid to watch to get into dark ad gothic vibes, you know—but I sincerely believe the producers could have made this series about any cynical, angry, gothic/alt teenager without including the Addams family.

Like, What do You MEAN, "She's just going through a PHASE!!!!" A "phase" in the Addams family is when younger Pugsley became a boyscout for a week.

The point of the Addams family was that they were strange, eccentric, kooky, and creepy. They owned it. They have a whole family tree, enough to fill a ballroom of "outcasts" and creepy kooks that simply ARE. They're the opposite of a traditional American family—they have loved each other unconditionally and supported each other for years. And now, all of a sudden, all the women of the Addams family hate each other. And it's specifically the female members of the Addams family, too. Okaaaay. 🤨 The men feel ignored, mildly underdeveloped, except for Pugsley, who brought Isaac back to life.

It's just all very generic. Rather, retconed.

Poseidon x Reader

Warning ⚠️: Spicy (no smut…yet)

The meeting had dragged on longer than anticipated. Poseidon wasn’t one to linger among his fellow gods. He would much rather be in his palace, tending to his domain and ensuring the balance of the seas. It didn’t matter to him that this was the second meeting of the Greeks to discuss presenting the idea of Ragnarok at the council of all gods. He couldn’t care less about the humans. Their impact on the earth and lack of respect for the gods were reason enough to wipe them out. While he vaguely listened to that explanation as it fell from Zeus’ lips, he didn’t give his full attention until your venom-laced voice cracked the air.

“Where will our prayers come from without the wretched beings that you convinced Prometheus to create,” you asked Zeus, “What of those of us who require prayers and offerings?”

“As the bringer of vengeance, that wouldn’t be a problem for you. Lesser gods who get their powers from humans are of no concern to us,” Zeus happily explained.

“You are no better than those selfish mortals! They are lesser but gods still!”

“Mind your tongue! I’d hate for you to find yourself in Tartarus!”

“They're already familiar with Tartarus, little brother,” Hades said, “Always kept my domain full to the brim. Truly wonderful.”

Poseidon cast his eyes on you. Have you always been this fierce? You cared for the lesser deities, an honorable characteristic. Hades seemed to treasure you. That should have been his warning sign.

You knew that you wouldn’t get anywhere with your point. Accepting defeat but promising revenge, you left the massive conference room full of your equals. While the conversation continued in your absence, Poseidon found himself unusually curious. He silently left the meeting to seek you out. Hades’ voice tickled his ear before he exited the meeting.

“Careful, Brother, that one has more fire than you can imagine.”

You had made your way to the colossal balcony and looked over the clouds. Ragnarok wasn’t the answer. You would prefer they unleash you and a few underworld deities to deal with the pesky humans. Your heart began to race as the smell of seawater invaded your nostrils. He wouldn’t speak first; this you knew.

“Your brother is an idiot,” you say aloud.

Surprisingly, he greeted you by standing beside you and gazing over the clouds. You hungrily drag your eyes over the handsome god. He wouldn’t notice, would he? Poseidon was notorious for never blessing another being to meet his gaze. Save for Adamas the moment before he ended him.

“Do you agree with them, Lord Poseidon?”

He didn’t acknowledge you. It was nerve-wracking having him this close and not interacting. You’d always wondered what it would be like if you could have his attention; this is not what you imagined. Never mind that most of what you imagined involved him bare and between your thighs. He’d always been a secret desire of yours. The embarrassment would simply kill you should anyone find out.

Poseidon could hear your heart rattling with anxiety. It made him smirk before looking directly into your glazed-over eyes. He was pleased to hear the gasp of surprise that you released.

For you, it was like looking into the ocean. For him, it felt like flames licking at his skin. That look was what he hoped to see.

“I don't care what any of you think,” he states.

Was he as empty and ruthless as they said? Poseidon was new to you. You were more familiar with Hades and Zeus. They always had plenty to say.

“I see. You’re a fool.”

Poseidon restrained himself from snapping your neck at the insult. Had he not been itching to know you, he would have made sure to sever your tongue. However, he wanted to use said muscle before ripping it from your insolent mouth.

“You will not speak to me as you do Zeus.”

You may have been lesser than him, but you would rather be cast into Tartarus’ flames than allow him to see that he intimidated you.

“Why did you follow me?”

Once more, he turned his eyes to look over the balcony. A brief silence followed as you observed him. He wasn’t gathering his thoughts. Poseidon was notorious for saying whatever he pleased.

“Your heartbeat and eyes give away how much you desire me.”

Such a sentence would have shattered you into pieces if you were mortal. Poseidon seemed pleased as he felt your eyes burn into the side of his perfect face.

“I hear how your heart beats in my presence. Just now, your eyes betray you,” he continued, “Bedding you would satisfy us both.”

As much as you would delight in such activities with him, he had too much nerve to address you in such a manner.

“You arrogant bastard! How dare you speak to me like I am one of your whores! You flatter yourself far too much,” you seethe.

He stops your rant by pulling you to stand before him and pressing his body against yours until the balcony railing digs into your back.

“Do not speak to me as if we are equal. I am not my brothers.”

Your lust is flickering, but you hold your ground. If Poseidon wanted you, he would have to do better than this.

“Unhand me, Poseidon.”

The god graciously moved away from your body. Your nerves only slightly relaxed once he no longer invaded your personal space.

“I am not your whore or one of your nymphs. If you desire me, you will treat me with the respect a deity of my caliber deserves. Now, good day to you, Lord Poseidon.”

The further you walked away from him, the more you trembled at the thought of his trident aimed at your head. He would have to learn to deal with your antics. However, the strike never came. You made it to your chambers in one piece.

Poseidon had stared after your retreating figure with well-maintained rage. His firm grip on his trident grounded him enough to prevent him from lashing out.

��It seems that this one wants to play. Isn’t that right, Hermes?”

Poseidon didn’t look at the god hiding behind one of the many columns. Instead, he began his journey back to his palace.

Hermes stepped from his spying spot and smiled at the thought of the impending disaster from a coupling between you and Poseidon. It would be far more interesting than Ragnarok.
