What's Gail and Erica's deal?
this is the correct question to ask me!!!!!!!!! 😃😃😃😃
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Erica and Gail are twin sisters who share a superpower. When they were young they were part of the Fledge Fighters team (my old webcomic.) Now that they've grown up with me I play around with them in a big Marvel AU sandbox of my own adaption.
the personalities
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Erica is bright and energetic and has so much unmedicated ADHD, loves fashion, makes friends wherever she goes, and would go to great lengths to help others, which is what makes her a great superhero but also keeps her overcommitted and overextended.
Gail is the opposite in most ways- subdued, introverted thinker, a bit of a slob, and not blessed with much (if any) natural empathy. But she's brilliant and widely knowledgeable, which you'll find out if you manage to actually get her to talk to you. She's also narcoleptic, so basically sleep deprived all the time no matter how many naps she gets.
Gail basically spent her life up to her mid-twenties doing whatever Erica wanted, and Erica put more work in fostering Gail's non-existent social life than was healthy. The two couldn't think of life without the other, and found it difficult to separate their individual needs.
Tumblr media
the big trauma
Then they went through a catastrophic world-ending event where they got portaled through spacetime to another universe and for the first time in their life, were separated (by a few hundred miles and about six months.) Instead of having each other for balance, they both veered harder into their opposite demeanors to the point that when they meet again after spending three years apart, they're unsure if they can ever be as close as they were when they were younger.
Erica had a bit of a crisis when she realized her sister was not anywhere on the new earth, dated Thor briefly, then ran off to join the Guardians of the Galaxy, so she was off-planet by the time Gail showed up.
When Gail found herself alone, she immediately quit the superhero thing, and became a morally-grey (at best) security specialist who works for whoever pays best or provides an interesting challenge, and gets involved with a crime boss named Valentine, who she's working for when she gets mixed up with Loki.
the powers
Tumblr media
When they were teen superheroes together, they thought that they just had the same powers with different specialties, but separated they also realized that it was more like they each had half of a power.
Erica can create huge air currents where none exist and control them in broad strokes. Most of the generative power comes from her. She prefers to work big, even getting to the point where she can create hurricanes. She can also fly on her own.
Gail's air manipulation comes down to directing its flow, and it takes a lot for her to actually build up a wind that could rival a large fan. She also lost the ability to fly. However she can precisely tune into the molecules and pressure, so she uses her powers to do quiet, subtle things like building up pressure in a room or redirecting an existing airflow.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's like you can see Gail's villain arc beginning in this moment.
Together they can create AND precisely control extremely powerful winds, but they've gotten pretty good at their solo acts by now. The whole thing with Gail becoming a villain has put a big damper on their relationship, but in the end, they're still sisters and love each other dearly.

Ultimate outfit refs for Gail, Erica, and even Loki on Earth 610 (that's my marvel AU-verse). Gail and Erica's are all original while Loki's is a spin off of his comics outfit Jamie McKelvie debuted around 2012, with some tiny touches of Kid Loki from before then in there too, plus my own slightly punk twist. Because this is MY au. And i can do what i want.

Gail's Blorbo Showdown
One boss up against another, smh
On the contenders:
Tumblr media
Lois Lane is primarily known for being Superman's girlfriend - now wife, in the comics - but she's got so much more to her than that. She's in this bracket mainly for Erica Durance's portrayal in the TV show Smallville, which is witty and charming and charismatic and who has an insane amount of chemistry with Tom Welling's Clark Kent, but I have to give it to comics!Lois, who's everything Erica Durance portrays and more, including being a badass mom and a Pulitzer winner. Blorbo feelings can truly transcend medium fr!!!
Tumblr media
Jaskier (also known as Julian Alfred Pankratz, Viscount of Lettenhove) is a recurring character in the Netflix show The Witcher. He's a bard and a pretty damn good one at that, and basically Geralt's PR team to boot. He's played by Joey Batey who himself is a talented musician (check out The Amazing Devil, for real) and who gives the character that lil fruity subtext we all enjoy. I am talking specifically about the Netflix version, because I only managed to read one book and my computer can't run the games.

I tried to avoid too many left turns into my specific interests although if you passionately want to know any of those, I can make you some more lists LOL
I would suggest picking a book that sounds interesting and using the footnotes and bibliography to find more to read. I've done that a lot :) a lot of my books have more sticky tabs or w/e in the bibliography than in the text so I don't lose stuff I'm interested in.
Hope this helps!

“Melissa Roe,” 27 (USA 1992)
“Melissa” was 27 years old when she checked into Lutheran Medical Center of Brooklin on May 1, 1992 for a legal abortion. She was five months pregnant.
Even though it was a highly dangerous method that had been banned in multiple countries for decades, the abortionist decided on the saline method. This was done by injecting a toxic concentration of hypertonic saline into Melissa’s uterus. Even among abortion methods, it was an especially hazardous one.
Like so many others before her, Melissa was killed by the “safe and legal” saline abortion. She died of abortion complications on May 11, 1992.
Japan, Sweden and even the notoriously pro-abortion Soviet Union had banned the saline abortion method decades before Melissa’s death. Although the method has become less popular among the American abortion industry over time, the United States still has yet to ban the hazardous procedure.
Others killed by “safe and legal” saline abortions in the United States include Jackie Bailey, Linda Boom, Twila Coulter, Angel Dardie, Christella Marie Forte, Lynn McNair, Nathalie Meyers, Kathryn Morse, Elizabeth Tsuji, Cheryl Tubbs, Carmen Rodriguez, Beverly Agnes, Gwendolyn Drummer, “Barbara” Roe, “Erica” Roe, “Daphne” Roe, “Malorie” Roe, “Vicki” Roe, “Molly” Roe, “Wendy” Roe, “Ellen” Roe, “Roseanne” Roe, “Lori” Roe, “Gail” Roe, “Beth” Roe, “Nancy” Roe, “Hannah” Roe, “Anita” Roe, “April” Roe, “Heather” Roe, “Trinity” Roe, “Christi” Roe, “Eleanor” Roe, “Martha” Roe, “Lana” Roe, “Chryssie” Roe, “Meredith” Roe, “Melanie” Roe and “Willow” Roe.
New York State Department Of Health, Bureau of Biometrics, Data run on July 19, 1995, Abortion Related Deaths, Resident Data
Ray Kerrison, New York Post, June 10, 1992

17 and 50 (tell me everything lol)
17. Any OC OTPs?
:3c
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Um. Them !!!!! Loki isn't technically my oc but at this point i've diverged so far from comics canon I basically consider him my own version of the character LOL!!! (And since Marvel took him from mythology I have every right. Anyway. Almost zero resemblance to the mcu too, i dont consider them even remotely the same character 🤷‍♀️) I could talk about them like. hours. I don't know what to put here in a text post. Send any questions to my inbox (that's a demand)
50. Give me the good ol’ OC talk here. Talk about anything you want
Okay HMM I guess I'll use this question to do a very broad overview of my stories! Maybe that should be its own post?? LOL
My main focus is on my Marvel fan characters:
Gail and Erica, twin sisters yoinked from my webcomic and all grown up, Valentine, the Valentine Crew (Crash, Red, Hands, Roux, Fuse), Keegan, Brightgene (mutant) kids (Brianna, Edwin, Luiz, Ali), tenants/residents at Gail and Loki's mansion (Eunice, Elenari, Avril ), my own AU version of the Guardians of the Galaxy... That's most of them.
I also have a few DC characters (Breeze, Doomscroller, a digital Batgirl, Paisley and Siren)
My original stories:
Fledge Fighters (webcomic, mostly technically finished), Characters from that are Gail and Erica (as kids), Pace, Rae, Michael, JD, Stephen, Nathan, Beck, Perri, Agent Jay, Flare Pants Man. Teen superhero hijinks on a "crime free" island.
Sketch Ninja (maybe someday webcomic): Rye, Kytton, Ciela, Kizzy, Dex, Nova: Ninjas have the ability to turn drawings into weapons. Popular Machinery (pitching this to publishers ideally): Kaiya, Aalex, Ripflick, Olivia, Juliet, various robots: Influencers with mechs. Need I say more?
Danger Spoon (WAY on the backburner) Tyler, Jamie, Lillith, Becca, Ruth: Boy from the big city moves to conservative small town and ends up as the front singer of a girl band.
Daisy's patience: Daisy, Sugar, Soap, Loafcat: kids fight giant robots. Probably won't do anything big with this unless I get a chance to pitch as a cartoon.
Honey and the Bee (Raina, Maple, Forrest) and Journey of Hearts (Kyo, Mimi, Oliver) Both very underdeveloped romances that I'll never write but the characters stick around in my head so they might get repurposed into something else later.
OKAY WAS THAT ENOUGH????
Edit: i can't even begin to list my one-off fan characters ahaha!! but honorable mention to Tomo my TMNT oc who already has like 3 iterations
