Lestat's my favorite character but I never thought it would make sense for the show to be like, psych all of that was made up he was awesome the whole time. The trial flashbacks where Louis said that Lestat's version was true made sense in that they didn't totally rewrite things, they didn't make Lestat not have abused Louis, they just offered some more complexity to the characters. I can see stuff like that, where we learn more, and I think we'll see things through Lestat's eyes and understand more of where he was coming from. We might see more of his love for Claudia, and maybe more happy moments from Nola (like we saw in 1.04 from Claudia's pov; the rest of the time, it felt like it was too painful and confusing for Louis to remember the good times). But apart from what Sam said, hasn't Rolin said that s3 will move away from the idea of "memory is a monster"? So it's not so much about memories being faulty or hidden, it's more filling in blanks about Lestat.

Exactly and it wouldn't be a good show or even make sense if they did that. Imagine redoing every single scene with Lestat's version, just to show Louis lied/Armand edited all his memories and Lestat is the ultimate reliable narrator. That makes years of hard work a waste of time, and the show very repetitive and absurd. Who does that? No one, at least not someone who has actual talent, common sense and wisdom.

I also don't get why Lescells (not to confuse with Lestat fans) keep saying that. Rolin NEVER said such thing and Sam has DIRECTLY debunked it multiple times. They've all said how they don't want to have stereotyped, cartoon-like villains, but to show several sides of their characters and let you empathize with them (so that also debunks their theories about Lestat being an angel and Armand this demon and permanent antagonist that is to blame for everything and they'll all hate forever).

Even the books don't support this theory. Even if Anne preferred Lestat and had him as a "more reliable narrator", TVL is more about his life before meeting Louis, not him retelling the events of IWTV. TVL just helped Louis and the public see more layers of Lestat and understand his story and behavior better. And Anne herself has made even Lestat go and take back some of his previous claims, not to mention Lestat is naturally chaotic and changes his opinion a lot lol. So that argument just doesn't stick. It never did.

Plus, there are at least 13 books to adapt (15 if they use New Tales), and they'll have to either ignore or combine some of them on the same season because they can't do a full season for each book. So, retelling everything would not only be a terrible move and waste of the previous material, but also a waste of new stories they could show? I don't know how anyone could possibly want that. Heck, I wouldn't even want that to happen with Armand and he currently looks "worse" than Lestat. I want to see his TVL, MTD, TVA and Blood Communion moments instead and the story to keep moving forward lol. Fortunately, these aren't the people writing the show and at least Rolin Jones has more imagination than this.

The Seventeen practice room was usually full of energy laughter, voices, and music booming from the speakers. But lately, something felt off. Y/N, the group’s 14th member, had been unusually quiet. Normally someone who brought a spark to the room, she now lingered in the background, avoiding attention and speaking only when necessary.

Seungcheol was the first to notice. As the leader, he had always kept a close eye on the members, and Y/N’s behavior worried him. During a break, he pulled Jeonghan and Mingyu aside.

“Have you noticed Y/N lately? She seems… different,” he said quietly.

Jeonghan nodded, his expression thoughtful. “Yeah, she’s not her usual self. She barely smiles anymore.”

“She’s probably just tired,” Mingyu offered, though the concern in his voice was clear.

But it wasn’t just exhaustion. Late one evening, Joshua found Y/N sitting alone in a corner of the stairwell, her knees pulled up to her chest. Her phone was clutched tightly in her hands, her head bowed low. Joshua approached her carefully, his voice soft.

“Y/N? Are you okay?”

She flinched at the sound of his voice but didn’t look up. After a long pause, she finally handed him her phone. Joshua’s chest tightened as he read through the barrage of hateful messages, cruel comments, and edited photos sent by sasaengs. The words were venomous, picking apart everything from her talent to her place in the group.

“These aren’t real fans,” Joshua said firmly, crouching in front of her. “They don’t know you. They don’t know how hard you work or how much you mean to us.”

Y/N’s shoulders shook as silent tears fell. Joshua didn’t hesitate to pull her into a comforting hug.

When he told the others, their reactions were immediate.

“What?!” Hoshi exclaimed, his usual playful energy replaced by anger. “How can people say things like that?”

“They don’t deserve to call themselves Carats,” Minghao said coldly, his jaw tight.

“She’s part of us,” Seungkwan said, pacing the room. “We need to protect her.”————————————————————————————-The next day, the members surrounded Y/N in the practice room. Seungcheol stepped forward first. “You don’t have to face this alone. We’re a team, Y/N. You’re one of us.”

Woozi nodded, his voice calm but full of conviction. “You’re not just a member of Seventeen. You’re family.”

Each of the members found a way to show their support. Dino and Vernon stuck close to Y/N during schedules, making sure she felt safe. Jeonghan and Jun kept a watchful eye on social media, reporting harmful accounts. DK made a point to check in with her daily, reminding her how much she was loved.

The biggest gesture came during a fan meeting. Seungcheol addressed the crowd directly, his tone firm but caring.

“Seventeen isn’t just thirteen or fourteen people,” he said. “It’s all of us—including Carats. And in this family, we treat each other with kindness and respect.”

Carats rallied behind Y/N, flooding social media with messages of love and encouragement. Slowly, she began to heal. The hateful messages didn’t completely disappear, but they were drowned out by overwhelming support from her members and fans alike.

In Seventeen, Y/N had found not just a team but a family that would stand by her through any storm.

What is right and wrong, and the various shades of grey in between, has been written about a thousand times in a thousand ways but it is continuously interesting to me in a changing world. What does it mean to be a bad person doing good things and a good person doing bad things? Is there a chance for redemption? What are the consequences? Race and class are also massive factors, made all the more complicated when we’re looking at sets of characters on either side of the PC’s life. I want to write black and other characters of colour make bad, questionable, and unredeemable decisions whilst also remaining aware of stereotypes and archetypes. I want them to be loud, messy, and rude, attributes that are always attached to minorities, but I also want them to be smart, calculating, and deceptive. I think a lot of people are scared to do so and we end up with plain, can-do-no-wrongers that lack any depth.

Can you tell me a bit about what you’re working on right now and your journey into interactive fiction? What inspired the game/story you’re currently writing?

I am currently working on the crime action interactive fiction Chop Shop. There are a mix of inspirations that went into Chop Shop but above all else I’d say the kicker was my circumstances at the time.

During covid I walked away from the WORST job I’ve ever had and moved back home, which I realised a while after was an extremely huge blessing. I had a major burnout and was processing what my ex-managers had put me and my colleagues through. So, in my freetime I was playing a lot of cyoa/ romance games (shoutout Love Island the game) and found a whole fandom that also enjoyed them. 

I made some friends, did art commissions, and wrote some fanfic here and there, yadda yadda. A close friend recommended I try out a very popular COG game at the time (🧛) and it all spiraled from there. I fell in love with the format, endless creativity, and community and never looked back.

I loved the Need For Speed games as a kid, the og Most Wanted, Carbon, and Underground 2 are, in my eyes, amongst the masterpieces of games from the 2000s. It got to the point I was going over to friends houses just to play on their PS2 lmao. I am also a Fast and Furious fiend (shock) and I will defend that god awful series till I die. Fast forward to being a teenager/ young adult I’ve become a massive fan of fictional crime shows. Breaking Bad will always be my first love, but I also love The Sopranos, Fargo, The Wire and more.

How has your identity, heritage/background, upbringing, or personal experiences influenced your storytelling or writing process? OR How does your work feature aspects of your identity / experience?

The real catalyst for Chop Shop was my previous job. A lot of the PC’s experiences are based off my own. A few examples I love sharing are how I had to make breakfast for my boss every morning and had to keep the office freezer stocked with a specific supermarket ice lolly because he ‘needed’ one every day at 3pm. I truly wish I was making this up because people think I’m crazy when I tell them. But I really was catering to a man-child because I was desperately trying to get my foot into a creative industry. Woof!!!

That said, the industry I wanted to work in was and still is extremely competitive. I came out of uni with a tonne of friends, but also a tonne of competition. It stung very badly to see my peers excel and surpass me when it came to careers but that’s just a part of becoming an adult. That life really was not for me and I’m glad I’m out of it now.

My mother is an extremely influential person in my life. Bits and pieces of her stick with me, not just in my writing but my every day. She’s worked in corporate all her life, from the early 80s and still to this day. She laughs about it now but she tells stories about the times she was laughed out of meetings or undermined by subordinates because she was a black woman in positions that were not occupied by minorities. It hurts to think about but I can only dream of having the type of strength she does.

Now that I think about it, Chop Shop is a massive fuck you to the past.

What does your writing process look like? Any rituals or habits? Any tips, tricks, philosophies or approaches that have worked very well for you?

I write way better outside of my bedroom. I know writing is supposed to be fun and a hobby but sometimes it’s… not. If I get stressed out in my room, it’s all a mess. The brain needs to be away from where I sleep to get work done. Last summer, when all the teachers were on holiday time, I was the only one in my department for weeks and it was the best writing stint I ever had haha.

Oh and I keep a huge spreadsheet. All the episode breakdowns, outlines, character details etc. It looks insane to anyone else but it is my prized baby.

Do you have favourite interactive fiction games, characters, scenes or authors that you’d like to recommend?

My goto game rec is always 180 Files: The Aegis Project. So quick and punchy, more narrative/plot than romance focused. The action sequences are fun and the interactions are so delicious, ugh. I love it. I’ve played it at least 20 times to get the different endings and it’s never not satisfying, just… chefs kiss. I’m also really enjoying Thicker Than right now AAHHH I NEED TO CATCH UP!!! 

Any books, music, movies etc. you’re obsessed with at the moment, or which changed your life (or perspectives on something)?

A/n: I'm not very educated in this type of stuff, so pls bear with me! These are just some random thoughts I had a while ago, lmao.

☠︎︎Loud. Loud and annoying is what your boyfriend likes to be with you.

☠︎︎ Eijirou is more of a hard rock fan, Tokoyami is a goth guy (obviously), Jirou likes punk, and Aizawa definitely loves grunge/alternative. Katsuki is that heavy metal guy that everybody is sorta intimidated by.

☠︎︎ His favorite bands are definitely Metallica, AC/DC, Guns' and Roses, Slipknot, and an honarary mention of Nirvana. Aizawa rubbed off of him.

☠︎︎ This boy is full on metal. Although he also has that punk style and grunge in what he wears. He occasionally wears black eyeliner and lets you, his princess, paint his nails in whatever color you'd like. This boy is wearing leather boots, a leather jacket, band shirts and jeans with some rips on them.

☠︎︎He definitely lets you wear his clothes. Katsuki thinks that they look so pretty on you, too. One time, he found you wearing one of his favorite Metallica shirts, and he swore that was the moment he knew he was gonna marry you.

☠︎︎ Momma Mitsuki was the one who introduced baby Kats to metal/heavy rock music. She sometimes regrets it due to the fact that he won't shut up about "metal" anymore.

☠︎︎Sometimes, Jirou lets Katsuki choose which song they play during band practice. Usually, it ends up being amazing because he would choose the best songs to rage to.

now, I know the best thing to do when supporting bands is to show up to their shows, however, If you are socially awkward, people stress you out, if you got insane anxiety, or if youre a parent and work 2 jobs to survive, YOU ARE STILL PUNK. YOU ARE STILL AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF THE SCENE, if you use some of these little tips and tricks.

attend a show if possible ONLY when you can, even if you dont know who is playing, but always bring a friend who is a comfort post to lean on.

Find local artists through socials. Every single music venue around you has Insta/Facebook/Twitter/TikTok, and if they are awesome Bluesky/Tumblr, If you find a punk/harcore adjacent band flyer. SPREAD THE LOVE. share em around get more eyes on it, tag the venue and every artist listed, help them get people who can attend shows, Do some listen along content highlighting said bands and point your audience to the shows and their socials

Speaking of spreading the love. If artists around have any flyers made on socials, download the image, print/trace it, Make hundreds of those bad boys and put them up where the hell ever you want. IRL eyes attract IRL attention, and IRL attendance, and its a major fuck you to algohell.

BUY THEIR SHIT. So you found a small band that sound fucking awesome, They got bandcamp? Buy a single, Patreon? 1 month donation, Merch market? Get a shirt or Patch.

Complementary Vs Contrasting talents

(ok I was reading this awesome post by awkwardandeccentric. Go read it.

And it sent me down a rabbit hole, that didn't completely fit a reblog lol. So now there's this thing).

Contrasting Stolitz

Ok, I just really like how both of Stolitz have very different natural performance talents.

They look likes they'll end up being eachother captive devoted audience.

Because Stolitz unlike with Fizz and Blitz, don't have skills that conflict.

Where as growing up Fizz and Blitz would be often pitted against eachother, for the same spot light.

Blitz's sence of humour is something they had in common from day one. It's always made Stolas happy.

And it's one of the few things that Fizz and Blitz have always differed on.

Just like with what games to play together, with Stolas happier to let Blitz take the lead in things. And loved playing pirates.

But ok Blitz being Stolas' audience..

The first compliment we see Blitz give Stolas is specifically on his performing abilities. His singing.

Something thing Stolas normal only gets criticism for.

Just like Blitz and his off the wall sence of humour.

And Stolas was able to sing well enough to bullshit a room full of the most powerful people in hell. That's pretty impressive.

Specifically using it to make Blitz's dream come true, of becoming the most famous imp ever, and to keep him safe.

Blitz is the first hellborn ever to survive being sentenced to death by one of the Sins.

All this was meant as a parting gift to the man he loves, via song.

(Similar to how Stolas gave his love of music to his daughter as a present, to help her understand the world) .

No way Blitz isn't going to ecstatic when he's bird's healed enough to sing again.

Even if neither of them want now to be performers as a job, Stolas needs music as part of his life to be fully him. Just like Blitz needs comedy.

It looks like they're being set up to be able to build off with the things they share, and where they differ.

Be able to cheer the other on with their own individual spotlights.

Complementary Fizzmodeous

Fizz and Ozzie talents are much more closely aligned.

With both of them being active performers, in the same field. Who trade off who gets to shine as the headliner and who's back up, in the same spot light.

Instead of feeling they have to compete against eachother to be noticed. Like Blitz and Fizz would have to do in the circus.

House of Asmodeus it's Ozzie taking the lead, with Fizz playing backup.

And in 2 minutes notice it's Fizz's number, that Ozzie is making safer by swapping the fire. And stepping up as real backup when Mam's a git.

The excellent bit is neither couple is competing with eachother really.

Fizz and Ozzie trade who gets to be the big deal, depending on who's jig it is.

Where as Stolas and Blitz are just each others biggest fans.

(they simp hard).

Honestly I just think Blitz and Stolas work better, to be able to fully support eachother fully. Then Blitz and Fizz could have done in the long run.

Because Fizz is a little bit right, there was some resentment over Fizz being rewarded more at the circus. (All the daddy issues).

They were set up to complete since they were tots, and the difference they were already showing work much better with their adult partners.

Instead of Blitz needing to real in his jokes. (Seriously Stolitz share one braincell some times lol).

Or Fizz feeling he had to put up more of level of gorn and danger than he's comfy with.

Not to mention there missing some kink overlaps lol.

And we all know Stolas' paperwork skills will be a massive asset to IMP, when he's back on his meds.

But yer these two just work, and I love them together.

Something I really love - as I was discussing with @aysekira - is how the drama is subtly showing how messed up the polygamous wife/concubine system is.

You can see it of course vis-a-vis ML, who is a talented ambitious man held back by his birth in terms of his mother's (lack of) rank but it's even more stark with the regard of Lady Qiao's children. Her daughter has consistently been portrayed as scheming towards FL and almost caused her grievous harm but she's not a one-note villain (neither is her mother, but that's a separate topic.) She is a genuinely loving daughter to her mother and loving sister to her full blood brother - she is willing to sacrifice for them both. We don't see the brother much but he also seems a loving son to his mother and brother to his full blood sister. It is quite clear by now that in a monogamous family situation, both the siblings and the mom would have behaved decently enough and had a loving enough family unit. They are warped by the family.

And Lady Qiao - she may be awful in many ways but she is a deeply loving, sacrificing mother for her children (more than can be said for her "noble" husband.) She'd have been fine in a different situation. And she has a valid grudge - scumbag dad promised to marry her as a legitimate wife before he married FL's mom. And then to promote her before he married wife n2. And did neither. Now, his mother objected but (a) that is why you should not promise if you know you won't be able to carry it out or (b) then you should fight to fulfill what you promised. No wonder she's bitter.

That is a household full of messed up, wounded, unhappy people - there is a reason that the most functional and happy member of the family is FL who lived apart since childhood.

And granny doesn't like him either - she claims it's because he was not an endearing child (which btw is insane - your own biological child or grandchild doesn't have to earn your love - they should be loved just because they exist; not to mention to be able to coax adults just so in his situation would be a sign of manipulative sociopathy, not awesomeness.) But she also doesn't try hard either - she actually seems largely indifferent to all her grandkids male and female except for FL -and in a status type polygamous society where other women are in favor or have higher status and thus their children do - unless he has someone powerful (in terms of within the family) in his corner, he's screwed and that is viewed as totally acceptable - he even learns in secret!

It's pretty telling that his position in the family only starts slowly changing when the favorite granddaughter, and the most high status one, stands up for him and decides to be in his corner. I do love watching him being gradually dragged into the family and softening because FL is making some other members like him more - when the story starts there is nobody in that fam he can do more than tolerate - he views them, understandably, as a bunch of unpleasant strangers he dwells with. But by now he loves FL, he likes sixth miss and little uncle and stepmom and while he doesn't like grandma he'd protect her because she's important to FL. He is a sane person who treats others well if they treat him well, but he is not gonna care for someone just because they are blood.

One last point - I love that he finally has someone who puts him first. FL consistently aims to protect him and to take care of him (whether in the physical try to cover him during an attack way or metaphorical - working to put him on the registry - the way he can't believe it and yet she does and he watches her work on it methodically!) but also she views him as someone smart and capable and someone she should learn things like calligraphy from - for someone who's been viewed as the bottom of the totem pole to be viewed as competent (and in the traditional status subjects at that) and someone who should be teaching her is actually pretty huge. When he teaches her calligraphy, she tries to wheedle out of work and what not but even doing that is implicitly acknowledges that he has authority in the subject (because she could always be - you can't make me, who are you.)

Anyway, to get back to dad, I hope he rots!

Greg James (Radio 1 DJ/Fast & The Curious host) was on the Sky Sports podcast a few months back and he made a really lovely and important comment about Fandom in F1 that I think more people need to hear...

"They are popstars, that is the closest comparison. They are popstars but I don't look at that as a negative. People like these people for a reason and you're a snob or you're shortsighted if you think it's fluff, because the people that love... I'll just do a comparison. People that love Harry Styles, if you're 14, 15, 16 and you're a girl...for example my niece, 15 years old, incredibly smart, worldly, has got big dreams, big ambitions, she is obsessed with Harry Styles, and it's dangerous and shortsighted to dismiss people that are obsessed with things... that are passionate about things, because those people will grow up and those things are really important to a human. Those first touch points of 'That's my favourite Formula One driver', or 'That's my favourite popstar', you never forget that sort of thing, they shape who you are, they help you shape what you like, and I know that sounds a bit grand but how amazing to have Lando Norris as your favourite celebrity, what a great person because that's an incredibly talented person. That's a person who's worked hard and is so great at their job.

So there's a lot of 'Oh, you only like Formula One because you fancy the drivers.' Great! Whatever your way in is, that's fantastic. My niece, told me the other day 'I want to marry a Formula one driver' and she's joking with me, but how fantastic, this thing that, to a 15 year old is mad to dive into the data of a Formula One car, but just kind of likes it... I don't know how you could not find that charming and sort of sweet. You can like any bit of sport that you like. Noone is supposed to be gatekeeping this thing.

I'd also like to say, not to generalise, there will be many 14, 15 year olds who want to get into the sport and they love the granular detail of the sport and they will become the next generation of engineers. Whatever your doorway into the sport is... Amazing. You've sort of won. If you're Lando Norris you've got people who know who you are and you're brilliant at your job and that's how sport can make a difference in people's lives because these characters have to transcend the sport"

Thor’s an oddly quiet student in class 

Usually letting his admirers talk at him and chatter about whatever

But his eyes are always on you 

He notices you’re kind of scatterbrained that you’re nervously flipping through your files for your lesson plans ten minutes into class

Or how you don’t mind still greeting the teachers who want to speak with you, even when it’s considered stirring the pot

He figures that’s how you’re doing what you do now

He notices that when you walk, it’s so peacefully slow when he’s following you he doesn’t need to take full strides

It's wonderful that no one even thinks he’s stalking because he’s just so mighty it looks like he’s got somewhere to be 

He loves how quickly it is to distract you 

One minute you can be looking suspiciously at his teammate’s latest wound but forget about it the second he raises his hand

Or how you’ll be talking enthusiastically to one student but if he pretends like he has a question your attention shifts to him

It makes it easier to protect you 

Too many times can he simply stare down elite students  who are awfully keen on crippling weaker average teachers

“Thanks for coming with me to print these out! I appreciate the company!”

“Anytime. I don’t mind if it’s helping you out.”

“Daww you’re so sweet! I think I have a lollipop back at my desk I can give you.”

He already knows it’s there, he’s been eying it since the beginning of your lecture

He’s decided he won’t make any moves now if only to focus on his championships

He knows if he doesn’t score well they’re all going to bother him 

And he just can’t have that 

Getting in the way of his special time with his favorite teacher is an absolute no

He wonders just how many bodies his father could help him cover-up 

If it is for you, he’s more than willing to exceed it

HAHA, OH MAN i was gonna wait to see some more of s3 before answering but I just finished the roboppi vs. soulburner duel SO. WELL HE'S IN MY MIND NOW. CHRIST ALIVE. Roboppi is a fucking INSANE yugioh character. Here's this literal roomba who mostly spends the series rolling around being a little funnyguy and maybe a tertiary character at best and then very, VERY suddenly he's given full free will and is a robot child now and kills two people. AND HE'S STILL A LITTLE FUNNYGUY. HE'S DOINGS BITS AND SHIT. HE'S THE RULER OF AN ISLAND FULL OF BRAVE LITTLE TOASTER EXTRAS. And then just when I think they can't possibly do anything else with him his new thirst for knowledge grows too big too fast and it FRIES HIS FUCKING BRAIN. HE GETS PUT DOWN LIKE A RABID DOG. SOULBURNER HAS TO TAKE HIM OUT LIKE LENNY FROM OF MICE AND MEN. AND WELL THATS JUST FINE. SNIFFLES. THATS FINE.

ANYWAY I still need to sit down and draw him, but Not-Lawrence Roboppi is Ai's little brother! :3 He and Ai are like... a parallel to the Sakaki brothers in a lot of ways (right down to the age difference--Roboppi's 17 and Ai's 33.) Theyre the light-mode version of that absolute tire fire. Ai is an older brother that may perhaps sometimes get his adoring little bro to do things for him, but in comparison to Zarc he's a bastion of good choices. He's not psychologically tormenting his brother and cousins the way Zachary is. Roboppi (his real name is Robbie i think ❤) ADORES his big sib and is the SELF-PROCLAIMED NUMBER ONE FAN of Ai's music u__u He's also hugely autistic about appliances and cleaning safety. NOBODY is ACCIDENTALLY MAKING MUSTARD GAS on his watch!!!

Also playing around with the idea that Yusaku babysat Robbie when he was little, largely by way of being uniquely talented for the job (will let Roboppi chatter about dishwasher models as much as he likes.) He genuinely likes the little guy a lot!!

Have you considered the comedy potential? Of Dragon and Robin teaming up to pull on of the biggest pranks in history?

And by that I mean they pretend to be father daughter

Cause like the theory is awesome but it’s so much funnier if the whole thing is just them lying

Dragon (known homosexual) - ah yes this is my daughter who I got from a woman I was in a sexual relationship with

Robin (known shitdisturber) - yes it is I his daughter who was produced through sexual intercourse with my female mother.

The whole thing gets way too out of hand during the two year arc and results in one very angry ex warlord kicking down Dragons door.

And people believe it because not only do they look similar enough to pull it off, but Robin’s weirdgirl energy and Dragon’s commit to any and all bits energy just. Click. Right into place. No gaps. Seamless.

I’m on Zou Arc right now and Robin is fucking with everyone like “my god, they’re cannibals”. Meanwhile, if he were there, Dragon- 100% running with her shit-stirring because it’s the funniest thing ever- would have gone “can they really be called cannibals since they’re Mink? Or does the term apply to all sapient humanoid species?” Cut to Usopp screaming because if the leader of the Revs (who’s there for whatever reason) is saying that, then it MUST be true!

Except everyone knows he’s bullshitting because everyone knows- including him- that Robin is bullshitting.

And it just kind of happens one day at the end of a discussion, back in her two year stay on Baltigo. Dragon’s been talking with her a lot, getting to know her, making sure she knows that she’s as welcome and accepted among the RA as she is with the Strawhats. The standard practice of “feed the stray cat so they know you’re a nice human and can be trusted”. You know the one.

Just.

A sip from the drink in her hand, like she’s already concocting more schemes.

“I hope you’ll forgive me, but some have been asking me- indirectly at least- if I’m your daughter. And I’ve been telling a few fibs here and there because of it.”

A twitch at the corner of his mouth, like he’s fighting a grin.

“Interesting… What sort of fibs, for the sake of keeping the story straight?”

Full shit-stirrer to shit-stirrer communication. Except it goes a little too well when Robin has reunited with the Strawhats for a while, and Dragon gets a very livid call from his dear and beloved nicotine addicted reptile. Accusing him of… sleeping with a woman? How rude! How unoriginal!

And that’s how Dragon learns that Robin’s been using her talents for fucking with people in a “good and friendly” manner to routinely put Crocodile through the wringer. Untraceable calls in the middle of the night that have the man feeling like he needs to be locked in a padded cell. Seastone muzzle and straitjacket optional.

The sudden shock of that revelation makes Dragon break, and then he’s cackling and wheezing like a madman until even the snail is concerned for his health.

“Wani, are you really that surprised that she would gaslight you for fun?”

“… Fair point…”

Oh, if Robin wasn’t going to get adopted into his dysfunctional garbage fire of a family before, she definitely is now.
