she'd never wanted to leave a party as bad as she wanted to leave this one. sassa on one side of her peripheral vision, link on the other, and g, everpresent g, on her mind (and also around her neck). but a) it was mari's birthday and mari was her friend and b) it was a party in a structurally unsafe house on the edge of campus. come on. "happy birthdayyyyy," she singsonged, wrapping her arms around mari from behind in a rather sloppy hug (attributable to the combination of something in a bottle and something in a baggie). "what did you want and not get? because that's just what i'll get you." charlie was not a gifted gift-giver.

"i didn't know you had it in you," charlie purred. she loved convincing other people to break the rules, dragging other people down to her level. "and just between us, i did absolutely post a semi-nude in letters. but it was very tasteful." the founders would be proud, she thought. in fact, executive board should be thanking her for the free promo. "i'm more than happy to send it over if you want to pass judgement though." she gave mari a lascivious look up and down, one mari must be used to by now. "or anything else you might want to see." the corner of her mouth curled up in a smirk. "just kidding." the tone of her voice and the look in her eyes made it crystal clear that no, she was not kidding.

"Doubtful," Mari said dryly, giving Charlie a sideways look. She may not know what she had been called into standards for, but Mari did know Charlie fairly well - or so she thought. She was fairly confident that whatever it was, she was guilty of it. And probably more too. But she'd bite her tongue on that. Luckily, she was excused from commenting on the innuendo as well, the standards committee stepping out to summon Charlie in at that moment. But...perhaps the former blonde had a point.

"She's a senior," Mari said to the head of the committee (leaving out the for the second time bit). "Surely what she did wasn't a big enough deal to do all of this over it," she said, eyes not shifting away as she motioned towards the room where the committee met, making it clear that from that point forward, it was not a big deal. It only took another moment before she agreed, scurrying back into the room - not without a reproachful glare at Charlie first, though. Mari let the slightest curve come to her lips as she glanced back towards her, otherwise the picture of innocence as she blinked. "Happy now? That I got you off?"

charlie nodded in vague recognition - she hadn't seen the movie, but her grandfather had a soft spot for elvis and charlie had too, all the glitz and camp and (though she didn't know it at the time,) drugs. "those boys don't care who you're dressed as, only that you look sexy. i, on the other hand, will at least pretend to care who you're dressed as," she said archly, taking a mile after mari hadn't protested her taking an inch. after all, it was halloween, and charlie thrived on halloween much like a fae, out to find her pleasure and stir chaos wherever she could.

she mock gasped, placing a hand to her (barely covered) chest. "you haven't seen moulin rouge?" she leaned in close to mari's ear, breath laced with tequila. "a kiss on the hand may be quite continental," she sing-songed, only a shred of encouragement away from reenacting the entire number.

Mari couldn't help the exhaled scoff of laughter she gave Charlie as she shot her a sideways glance from the corner of her eyes - only after a thorough roll of them, of course. She fell into step beside her still, letting Charlie's hand rest on her back - and perhaps leaning into it slightly - as they moved through the crowd. "Priscilla Presley. I tried leaving off the last name, a la Sofia Coppola, but after a few too many empty headed stares from frat boys, I realized that wasn't going to work," Mari said with a disappointed sigh, leaning back slightly to be heard over the party, ignoring Charlie's other ramblings. Though she did have a point. "And you?" she asked, taking the opportunity to drag her eyes over her costume again.

Spoilers for Batson Family Soap Opera Chapter 7

Okay, so, for anyone who’s read chapter 7 of my Batson Family Soap Opera fic, I’m sure you have questions about the newest character reveal, Whisper A’Daire as Billy’s aunt! If you’ve watched the yj show, I’m sure you know her. But…if you don’t, here’s a little profile.

She’s part of Intergang, which is a coalition of people who sell alien technology. She’s in the comics, but I haven’t read them because I have a short attention span(depending on the content).

For anyone who’s confused. No, Whisper is not canonically Billy’s and Mary’s aunt. No, she is not Marilyn Batson’s sister. Why did I begin to have these thoughts of canon divergence?

…Because she reminded me of Marilyn when I saw her-

I know! Stupid reason! But it just sounded so natural for Billy to have a criminal relative(I mean…he already has a few, so what’s one or two non canon ones?)
