Green Cuisine: Why Cardboard Food Packaging is Trending
In cardboard food packaging, a paradigm shift is underway, fueled by a collective commitment to eco-friendly practices in the food industry. This shift extends beyond mere boxes; it encompasses various solutions, from corrugated food boxes to custom-designed cardboard containers in multiple shapes and sizes. These aren’t just boxes; they’re a packaging solution that meets the high-quality standards expected in the food industry and profoundly protects the environment. Embracing the principle of sustainability., businesses increasingly opt for customized food boxes wholesale, recognizing that a wide range of offerings, including pizza boxes with innovative features like a wire handle, are essential to cater to diverse consumer needs. This movement isn’t just about packaging; it’s a conscientious step towards a greener, more responsible future.

It always seems a bit unbalanced on The Great Food Truck Race when there will be multiple teams who are cooking a wide variety of complex dishes with 10 different components and a bunch of prep work, and then there's that one team who like... exclusively serves plain crepes with some premade nutella on them, or plain waffles with just some whipped cream and cut up strawberries lol...
#AND then they'll be the winning team or whatever and its like... wow... imagine that... I wonder how its possible that they can get#more dishes out faster than the other teams... hrrmm.... lol#Not that they aren't still doing work like. obviously it's still hard and there's still a sales component and other stuff to be done#but It's just kind of unbalanced seeming when one group is serving like grilled shrimp sandwich with 3 homemade sauces and a#slaw and two sides and the other people are like... slicing fruit and drizzling a bottle of hersheys chocolate syrup on top of some thing#they just threw in a waffle maker for a few minutes#You see the footage of the teams cooking and everyone is like prepping a ton of different things and meat and vegetables and they have#boiling pots and pans and fryers going and tossing stuff in bowls and compiling these multi component dishes#and then That One Team is always just casually slicing bananas or doing some whipped cream in a bowl gbjhbhj#They usually dont even make their own caramel or chocolate sauces or anything. Nutella out of a jar babey!#So all you're really Making is like... whipped cream. and some sort of batter (waffle. crepe. etc)#If I got placed in a competition like that and I found out one of my opponents just sold waffles or pancake sticks or etc#like that I would just be like... okay.. I'm out then. bye. OR I would pivot and be like.. right I shall remove all complexity from my menu#whatsoever and just start selling plain balls of fried dough with powdered sugar or plain fries with nothing on them or something lol#update: OH my god.. one of these teams on a newer season is selling a 'bonus add on' where you can add#cinnamon sugar and caramel syrup (possibly not even home made by them???? just from a bottle) for $5 extra on your order#If I bought a $12 waffle from a food truck and they were like 'hey do you want to upgrade? for only $5 we'll drizzle a teaspoon#of caramel and sprinkle a little sugar and cinnamon on there!' I feel like I would cancel my order and walk away.#that is a $1 add on at MOST.. for a freaking DRIZZLE of caramel sauce LOL#and of course this team is in the top 3... squirrel.... come ON...#Which I know all these shows are fake and bad and whatever. I dont watch them seriously. I think I liked the first few seasons#but then anything past like season 4 (or whenever they started having established people who already ran food trucks on there#instead of taking a bunch of peope who had never run a food truck before and giving them one - which is a much more equal footing#premise to me) I have just been increasingly annoyed at and I really just have the show on for background noise#whilst doing chores or something and am not genuinely paying that much attention but... my god.. At least try to pretend its fair lol#WHICH I KNOWW... you can say 'well the other teams could do similar if they wanted.' or blah blah. tehcnically it's THEIR choice to#make stuff from scratch and not sell a bunch of packaged frozen chicken wings dropped into a fryer over a shitty 6min waffle or etc.#but... I will never respect a $5 for 1tbsp of caramel sauce type of situation.. even if they win.. you will always be losers in my heart#So many teams with real cooking skill & good concepts go home to the 'slap nutella on fried dough' people... how...

look i live in california i know damn well the price of groceries is absurd. but whenever i see someone say “i buy hellofresh because it’s wayyy cheaper than groceries” i wince. you people just dont know how to fucking shop
#and I mean okay that’s not your fault probably but. I don’t know man I don’t like big wasteful companies taking advantage of the fact that#people (namely around my age range) don’t know how to buy staple foods and frozen produce and etc to cook with that lasts a long time and is#absolutely cheaper than hellofresh especially in the long run#I do understand the lack of time/energy to cook meals from scratch believe me but these days I RARELY cook anything that takes longer than#a hellofresh meal would. use the recipes on their website if you want but please im begging you look up tips for sustainable low-effort#grocery shopping.#I will admit. factor meals do tempt me. because my old roommate got them for a couple weeks once and I tried them and was actually very#surprised by the quality. like they actually taste like homemade meals. but logically I know it’s not a good deal except for the time it#would save. sighh#kibumblabs#said roommate is also the reason I tried hellofresh for like a week or two (she bought it and then never wanted to cook anything so I#ended up cooking them so they wouldn’t go bad) and don’t get me wrong they’re not bad#but there’s so much unnecessary packaging waste and the amount you make leaves for basically no leftovers or anything to use later and so on#it’s just really a bad deal in comparison to making anything yourself

Part I did not expect about living alone for the first time: drinking entire glasses of vanilla almond milk like it’s water just so it won’t go bad
#I like having it in my tea#because actual milk only waters it down#but they’re supposedly only good for 5 days after being opened#why would you exclusively sell that in 1 liter packages#I still drink it after the 5 days because it usually smells fine#but I’m only willing to go so far past the expiration date#I say as if my dinner today did not have an expiration date in march 2023#but that’s frozen food which is different

forcing myself to stop watching snapchats of those stupid organizing tiktoks that are so unnecessary oughhhhhhhhhhg
#like sure a container for your flour and sugar? great idea. the containers they come in are flimsy and easily spill. a container for your#frozen uncrustables that are individually packaged??????? for your snacks that come in already sealed packages????#i saw one that was like ‘we’re still trying to save money’ and it’s all name brand lmfao like just drop whatever ad ur doing and leave#don’t get me started on everyone buying the same containers and the same FOOD AND DRINKS and the same cleaning products as they all restock#the exact same kitchen with shaker style soft close cabinets and rinse their farmhouse sinks#sorry. it freaks me out and i can’t look away all at the same time

Doesn't look that pretty but tastes pretty good. It's "use to whatevers left in the fridge and freezer" week, since no one wanted to go to the market this weekend. So the last of a bag of frozen mixed veggies, a wilted bell pepper, some garlic alfredo sauce mixed with some pesto, bowtie pasta, and a leftover bagel turned into garlic bread.
#birdy's food experiments#this weekend was busy and we were tired and i didn't remind my partner to order groceries so this week will be interesting#i have a leek some green onions and a carrots left plus one questionable delicate squash#there should be one full package of frozen peas and carrots and a tin of baby corn#time to get creative

Ever Thought About Upgrading Your Frozen Food Packaging
As a testament to the evolving narrative of frozen gastronomy, frozen food boxes have metamorphosed from mere vessels into strategic ambassadors. Beyond their practical role, these frozen boxes serve as custodians of culinary excellence, preserving the delicate balance of taste and texture. Not merely containers but temporal custodians ensuring a gustatory experience is untarnished by the relentless march of cold temperatures.

Hey, are you a broke motherfucker trying to save money on groceries and attempting to plan for having food in the house at the end of the month? Do you have a good system for storing frozen meat? If you don't, here's how I do it:
Large Bastard called me when I was at the plasma center (we're broke motherfuckers!) to tell me that Aldi had nearly expired pork chops (use or freeze by tomorrow) for 50% off, so I told him to get 4 packs.
I keep my freezer pretty full with homemade stock, frozen meat, frozen veggies, frozen fruit, and g-free bread, so I can't just stick the big packages of pork chops directly in the freezer, and besides if I do, the pork chops will freeze to each other and then I'll have to thaw the whole mass of them if i want to cook them, which will increase thawing time.
So what I do instead is make an accordion of waxed paper and fill it with pork chops.
This ends up saving a ton of space, and means I can choose to thaw 8 pieces or 1 piece or however much I need at a time.
3 packs stored this way are smaller than 1 pack from the store.
The final accordion of meat gets wrapped in a layer of waxed paper, then put into a freezer bag with the air pressed out, and now if I don't have cash for groceries I've still got something to eat.
This is also the way that I save meat that is close to its spoilage date that I won't be able to cook before it goes bad. If you stick a family pack of chicken breasts in the freezer, you have a family pack of chicken breasts to thaw. If you put them into little waxed paper envelopes, you've got single serving packets that you can easily toss into a soup or bake from frozen.
This is ALSO pretty much the technique I use to freeze banana slices when my bananas are going brown and I'm not in the mood to bake, only I freeze them on a cutting board before breaking them off and sticking them in a bag when they're frozen.
Freeze wet stuff in individual pieces, not big chunks, so you don't have to break up big chunks to use your frozen food.
I know this probably seems pretty obvious to a lot of people, but it wasn't obvious to me until a couple years ago because nobody ever showed me how to do it and I didn't grow up in a family that cooked a lot.
