Rising Sign & Your Perfect Festival Outfit
Here are the perfect any music festival outfits for each of the 12 zodiac signs and Ascendants, with details on color schemes, materials, accents, and overall aesthetics:
PSA: Images and descriptions are both complimentary, so they may not be entirely identical, but everything is relevent.
Aries Rising: Bold and daring, an Aries rising would rock a fiery red crop top paired with high-waisted denim shorts. Accessorize with a black leather choker, combat boots, and a statement belt. The outfit screams confidence and adventure.
Taurus Rising: Earthy and sensual, a Taurus rising would opt for a flowy, bohemian-style maxi dress in shades of green and brown. Pair with a leather fringe vest, ankle boots, and a wide-brimmed hat. The outfit exudes comfort and laid-back elegance.
Gemini Rising: Playful and eclectic, a Gemini rising would mix and match patterns and colors. A graphic tee paired with a colorful, patterned skirt, fishnet stockings, and high-top sneakers. Accessorize with layered necklaces and quirky sunglasses for a fun, youthful vibe.
Cancer Rising: Soft and feminine, a Cancer rising would choose a vintage-inspired, pale blue sundress with delicate lace details. Pair with a cozy, oversized cardigan, ankle-strap sandals, and a small, cross-body bag. The outfit radiates comfort and nostalgia.
Leo Rising: Bold and dramatic, a Leo rising would make a statement in a metallic gold romper with a plunging neckline. Accessorize with a chunky, gold chain necklace, oversized sunglasses, and platform heels. The outfit screams glamour and confidence.
Virgo Rising: Clean and practical, a Virgo rising would opt for a crisp, white button-down shirt tucked into high-waisted, black denim shorts. Pair with a black leather belt, minimalist jewelry, and comfortable, low-top sneakers. The outfit is polished and effortlessly chic.
Libra Rising: Elegant and balanced, a Libra rising would choose a flowy, pastel pink maxi skirt paired with a white, off-the-shoulder crop top. Accessorize with delicate, gold jewelry, strappy sandals, and a woven clutch. The outfit is feminine and harmonious.
Scorpio Rising: Mysterious and alluring, a Scorpio rising would opt for a black, lace bodysuit paired with high-waisted, faux leather leggings. Layer with a sheer, black kimono, and accessorize with a choker, ankle boots, and a dark, smoky eye. The outfit is seductive and intense.
Sagittarius Rising: Adventurous and free-spirited, a Sagittarius rising would rock a tie-dye, cropped t-shirt paired with distressed, cut-off denim shorts. Accessorize with a woven, multicolored belt, layered anklets, and gladiator sandals. The outfit is playful and adventurous.
Capricorn Rising: Classic and sophisticated, a Capricorn rising would choose a sleek, solid & colored co-ord with a structured, cinched waist. Pair with knee high or thigh high black boots or dainty shoes, minimalist jewelry, and subtly refined look. The outfit is timeless and powerful.
Aquarius Rising: Unique and unconventional, an Aquarius rising would opt for a holographic, iridescent bodysuit paired with high-waisted, flared pants. Accessorize with a chunky, silver choker, platform boots, and a brightly colored, faux fur coat. The outfit is futuristic and eccentric.
Pisces Rising: Dreamy and ethereal, a Pisces rising would choose a flowy, sheer, pastel purple maxi dress with delicate, floral embroidery. Layer with a soft, crochet cardigan, and accessorize with a flower crown, layered, beaded necklaces, and strappy, barefoot sandals. The outfit is whimsical and enchanting.

Tips on Accessorizing for Cheap !!
this has been said to death already, but find the cheapest second-hand or thrift store you can in your area, and become a fiend. there’s a lot of great jewelry that’s hidden in there
furthermore, lots of thrift stores will have auctions to get rid of what doesn’t sell. here, you can get actual buckets of things for like,, $5 USD. you can ask the staff if they host these, and they’ll let you know! in my experience, you either have to be 18+ or be accompanied by someone who is, so if you’re young, grab your favorite trusted adult and go get some shit for dirt cheap. (this doesn’t stop at accessories, actually, i got all of my dishes and some furniture and books this way. just make sure to clean it !!)
if you’re interested in using chains and such for accessories, get them at a hardware store!! they’ll be sturdy and last you a good amount of time, while also being much cheaper than anything you’d find at a store.
ask around!! see if anyone you know has things they want to get rid of that you can snatch up
follow tutorials from punks. the entire subculture is built on rebellion, and thus relies very little on consumption. i’ve seen punks use the waistbands of old jeans as bracelets before, and look sick as fuck while doing it. even if that’s not the style you’re aiming for, you can still take the principles and practices and apply it to your own style.
get versatile!! i’ve used necklaces as pseudo-belts and bracelets before, and have wrapped bracelets around hair-ties. scarves can be ribbons or belts or hair-ties, too!! everything has a second, secret usage
things that aren’t accessories can also very easily become accessories if you try hard enough. bottle tabs can be tied together to make shapes and charms (many tutorials and patterns can be found on Pinterest!) and random pieces of thread can become charms if you learn how to tie certain knots.
diy and crafts!! save bottle caps and turn them into pins, spare ribbons as bracelets or earring charms. dollar stores and walmarts and such have supplies to craft your own jewelry, too! lobster hooks, thread, beads, earring hooks, etc.! you can even bypass this by buying sturdy enough wire and making the earring hook yourself, if that’s your only option. tie buttons together, and you end up with a bracelet, tie even more and you have a necklace or a belt or whatever the hell you want.
if you get some bobby pins and then hot glue charms or whatever onto them, you get hair clips!! just try and make sure the charm isn’t too heavy so it’ll stay in your hair.
libraries and other public services might have jewelry making or knitting or crocheting nights where you can learn how to craft and take what you create back home for free!! check that out (and also support your local library. get a library card i beg of you.)
you can prolong cheaply made jewelry (especially rings) by coating it in a layer of clear nail polish. it’ll stop it from turning your fingers green, and provide a protective layer between the metal and any sweat or water it might come into contact with
kids sections of stores. i am not even playing right now, go get yourself some hair clips meant for 6 year olds. if you figure out how to style it, it’ll be perfect.
remember that you can use and do literally whatever the fuck you want, so long as you like how you look. loop dental floss through buttons and wrap it around your wrist, or make a charm out of knots and hang it on the zipper of your jacket, or cut off the straps off of an old unusable bag and make it a choker. have fun with it
i’m American, so some of these might not translate well to other countries. if you have any advice to add, please do!!
#i’m a fashion girlie but i was raised by an incredibly frugal man so i had to learn how to be cute on a BUDGET.#i can post some examples of my crafts n such if anyone wants me to!! <3#i like showing off my jewelry hehe#fashion#jewelry#i don’t post much fashion stuff on here but i feel like sharing my cheapass knowledge is a good thing

2023 crochet round up!
i mentioned making a post like this a few days ago, and true to my nature, i waited until the last minute to get pictures
so here we are, in no particular order, various projects i finished in 2023
1.) this was technically crocheted last year (i think) but this year i finally assembled and lined it, making it finished! its not quite the size to be a purse, but its perfect for carrying my phone and keys while dog walking
i followed this pattern, and im really happy with the results!
2.) some little zipper bags. like the bag above, the purple one was crocheted last year, but i finally added the lining and zipper this year (i also used the same pattern as the above bag to make the purple one)
the grey one doesnt have a lining and zipper yet, but since the crochet is finished, it still makes the list
3.) little squares from this pattern, to have something to clip my stitch markers to, very helpful for travel
4.) a few of the chokers i made during the summer, there are a bunch more, but you get the idea, a couple were made based on this pattern
4.) this one was hard to get a good shot of, but it's a cat blanket i made for my sister's cats
the pattern was a free one i got from michael's in store, which doesnt seem to be on their site? however its a pretty simple pattern, im pretty sure you could find something nearly identical by searching "star baby blanket" or something like that
5.) for ages now i've been meaning to make something to keep my tablet pens in, because having them loose in my bag is begging for disaster
i actually had to make this little case twice, the first one was too long and the proportions looked weird, so it isnt pictured here
i hand finished all the seams for the lining, there was no practical need to do this
6.) pouch to carry headphones i got for my birthday
7.) pouch to carry Cool Rocks
the bottom of the bag comes from these doily patterns, and the ends of the ties are from this pattern
8.) a mini dice bag, made to hold a couple sets of mini dice my sister made for me!
9.) several cord ties made from this pattern, the flower was my own addition (only two ties are pictured because i didnt feel like tracking down the third)
10.) a flower vine to decorate my desk, no actually on my desk because i still need to sort out how i want to attach it
11.) speaking of flowers, ive probably made dozens of these little guys, they're very quick to make, and a good way to give my hands something to do while watching something
12.) little succulents from this pattern
13.) oops! another pouch to hold even more Cool Rocks
14.) while technically i still need to to line these bags, i still wanted to include them, i made them from this pattern, and im very excited for when theyre actually finished so i can use them
next we're getting into some shawls i made, and unfortunately i just dont have a good set up for getting pics of them
15.) this one was made by doing a little variation from this pattern
16.) this was made from the all shawl pattern by doris chan, its a really great pattern for beginner's, the first shawl i made was from that pattern!
17.) this was made from a variation on the same pattern i used for the cat blanket, i made a couple others from the same sort of pattern late last year, but i decided i needed one in black in october, because it looks just a bit like bat wings
18.) i made a cowl from this pattern, and i really love the texture of it! i also made one for my mom in a different color, which is not pictured here because i took these picture last minute
other things not pictured include: a dice bag for my sister, flowers for my mom, and a sack for the cats to curl up in (since they love making nests out of my projects)
#long post#sirotras speaks#i had that cowl finished for all of 1 minute before sy crawled in it like it was made for her

Crochet Choker Free Pattern by Parlez Vous Crochet
Crochet Choker Free Pattern by Parlez Vous Crochet
Looking for an easy and quick project to crochet? Well, crochet jewelry is always easy and fun to make and to wear. You can get really creative with it and make beautiful crochet earrings, necklaces, bracelets and more. What I like the most about crochet jewelry is that it’s very lightweight so the earrings don’t tug on your ear. Also, most people use cotton so it is not harsh on the skin at all.…

Hey! I am a Volturi S T A N and I really enjoy how cultured they are. They’ve had enough time to study every era in art intensively, and I wonder what their favorite would be. From Ancient to Romanticism, what era in art is the favorite of each Volturi guard?
Welcome fellow stan! Sorry this took longer than expected! I’ve taken a lot of art history courses so I probably gave this more thought than necessary! Also I went more with art styles rather than time periods, because that just seemed to make more sense to me. Hope that’s okay!
Aro - You’re asking Aro to choose just one art style? Not going to happen. He’s collected art from everywhere and everywhen will insist that all of it has equal artistic merit. Yes even that broken new-age art mobile made of paper mache and plastic straws stuffed in the corner behind one of Botticelli’s angel paintings.
Marcus - Without Didyme, he’s got a maudlin streak. So he’s quite into vanitas paintings, and Gothic Architecture. Mostly, he prefers history to art, however.
Caius - He prefers art that is technically impressive and realistic as possible. For this reason, Realism has a strong appeal. Scientific drawings also fascinate him. He’s got a large collection of “undiscovered” Michelangelo’s. He also prefers technically impressive Baroque music. And minimalist architecture. But he has absolutely no understanding of or interest in heavily abstracted styles, like Impressionism, Cubism, and thinks most modern art is a phenomenal waste of time. It’s his most common argument with Aro, outside of official business.
Sulpicia - Has a strong preference for female artists, especially those who depicted women being violent. Style isn’t especially important. Her favorites include Minoan bullfighters, a lot of angry women in the 1970s/1960s and Artemesia Gentileschi. She’s also big into fashion and makeup. A choker of pearls, blood-red lipstick and eyeliner sharp enough to kill a man are her go-tos.
Athenodora - She’s more into poetry than pictures and sculptures. She especially likes poetry that’s flowery, but has a rigid structure. Free-form poetry is for the weak. Haikus, Greek Dramas, and iambic pentameter are where it’s at. She’s also got a fondness for plays, Shakespeare, of course, but also Opera, Kabuki theater, and modern musicals. She drags Caius along whenever she can, and he not-so-secretly enjoys it.
Didyme - (She’s still alive, dammit). Art to her is about emotion. If it doesn’t make her feel something, why make it? She especially loves the colors in Impressionism. But also has a fondness for abstract geometric patterns and loud, splashy Modernist art. Like her brother, her tastes clash horribly, and any room decorated by her is an absolute eyesore. Marcus (who thinks it’s kind of adorable) is good-natured about it. And he’s a bit less grim with her around.
Alec - That picture of George Washington riding a T-Rex and wielding a light-saber while wearing 3-D glasses just about sums up what Alec likes. He’s 12, so add enough flames, guns, robots and lasers and he’ll love it.
Jane - Medieval art. It’s what she grew up with. But it’s also pretty grotesque at times (we’ve all seen those medieval art memes, right), and strikingly pretty on other occasions. Which suits her. Also, all the paintings/tapestries depicting witch burnings are good motivation.
Heidi - She’s got a sense of humor, so she likes the Rococo Era. Not so much the architecture styles, or the dresses–that’s more Aro’s speed–but she likes how most people look at the paintings (like this one) from the era and just see a bunch of fancily dressed people and completely miss all the innuendos. They certainly go over Felix and Demetri’s heads, and that’s the way she likes it.
Demetri - Art Deco. It’s clean, sharp, angular, stylish. He loves it as an art style, as an architecture style, and if he could get away with it, he’d wear 1920s tuxes all the time too.
Felix - Roman art and especially Roman Architecture is Felix’s favorite. So stately and strong–like he is. He kind of wishes the Volturi fortress was built a little bit more like a Roman temple than a labyrinth of sewers, but he gets why it has to be that way.
Renata - Music is more her forte than painting or sculpture. And, while it’s hard to compete with Aro, who can learn new instruments just by touching a virtuoso, she’s gained proficiency in the harp, the flute, the cello, and the piano. She also sings. But never anywhere she thinks someone else can hear her. Of course, thanks to super-vampire hearing, they all can. And they think her singing voice is lovely. But they know she would die of embarrassment if they admitted they could hear, so they never tell her.
Corin - Prefers embroidery and hand-sewing to most other arts. She also took up knitting and crochet. And prefers to make things with flowers on them. She also likes literature, especially those by women authors, like the The Tale of Genji, the works of Jane Austen, Eileen Chang, and many anonymous women writers.
Santiago - Dadaism, Surealism and especially Salvador Dali, whose political paintings greatly influenced his country while he was human.
Chelsea - Art has never been the reason why she’s part of the guard. To her it’s eh… okay. Which was always a source of frustration for Aro when he tried to pamper her with gifts. “What do you mean you ‘don’t like paintings’? You cannot simply dislike all paintings?” But it got even worse when Afton arrived.
Afton - Doesn’t understand art at all, and it’s one of the many reasons Aro hates him. You see, Afton was born after the invention of the camera and thinks realistic art is a waste of time (why not just take a picture?) and abstract art is just pointless splatters that any child could replicate. Oh, and cartoons are only for children. All of which he’s managed to get Chelsea to believe too.
Yeah….
He does appreciate practical art like pottery. But he refuses to call it “art” and insists it’s like furniture, which he claims is somehow different. (hint: it’s not!)

Jewelry-Making for Beginners: Cords, Ribbons, and Laces; a Guest Post from Divya N
As I work through this series on Basic Jewelry-Making, there are going to be subjects on which my knowledge is limited. When I covered materials for jewelry-making, cording was an area that I left somewhat open. Divya from Jewels of Sayuri has kindly offered to guest post and fill in some of those blanks. Thanks to Divya! Here we go!
Of Cords, Ribbons and Laces
The secret to unique jewelry designs is in how you select and put together materials. Apart from beads of various shapes and sizes, supplies that can significantly alter the look of your designs and add pizzaz to them are stringing materials. Stringing materials can be majorly classified as wire, cord, ribbon, lace and thread. Hope had previously covered wire classifications. In this post I will be covering those that come under haberdashery trims.
p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; text-align: center; font: 14.0px 'Trebuchet MS'} p.p2 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 14.0px 'Trebuchet MS'} span.s1 {font-kerning: none} span.s2 {text-decoration: underline ; font-kerning: none; color: #0433ff}
Before we begin to source these materials, we must understand the difference between cords, ribbons, laces and yarn as these words are commonly interchanged.
Cord
A Cord is a strong linear yarn like material that is normally round or square in cross-section. A cord can be plain or braided and it could be with or without stitching on one side. Cords could have a core material that is enveloped by an outer covering. A round leather cord or Regaliz (Portuguese Cork cord) enveloped by cotton fabric are good examples.
p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 14.0px 'Trebuchet MS'} span.s1 {font-kerning: none}
Cords are used to string beads and pendants or used as tieups. Popular jewelry making cords include cotton cords, hemp cords, satin cords (rattail), and leather cords. Paracord (Nylon Parachute cord) is often used to make bold macramé bracelets. Newer entrants to the market are denim cords, velvet cords and silk fabric cords.
p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px 'Trebuchet MS'; -webkit-text-stroke: #000000} span.s1 {font-kerning: none}
Twisted silk cord necklace, Crocheted textured yarn necklace and Rattail tassel earrings
Lace
A Lace is a flat (sometimes ruched) elaborately decorative trim that could be woven, knitted, or made using non woven techniques like crochet or needlepoint. It is a lightweight openwork structure patterned, either by machine or by hand. In Jewelry, laces are typically used to make Victorian Chokers and cuffs.
Leather Lace
These are tapes that are ironically referred to as Leather Lace even when they have no openwork pattern in them. They can be flat with a colored edge, braided or even simple lengths of suede. They are great for making wrap bracelets.
Braid
Braids are trims that come under the non- woven category. Braiding is a technique that can be seen in cords and threads as well. Soutache thread is a narrow, flat braid trim in a herringbone pattern.
Ribbon
A Ribbon is flat and flexible mostly woven band often used in making bows and other small embellishments. Velvet ribbon, organza ribbon, satin ribbon or grosgrain ribbon are some commonplace examples of finished ribbons. However, you can cut any fabric into narrow strips to make ribbons. Sari Ribbon and shibori ribbon are made that way. If you want your fabrics ribbons to stretch and fray less, you can cut them on bias (45 degree angle). Alternatively, for a professional look you can get a ball hem, pico or overedge finish for the edges. A Rik-Rak (Ric–Rac) is a zig zag band that also comes under ribbons.
Tape
Tapes are also flat trims much similar to ribbons. However, they are usually narrow unlike ribbons which can be even 3”- 4” wide. Tapes are also thicker and could be edged as in the case of leather tapes.
Thread & Yarn
Threads and yarns are fine string like materials that are used to create cords, ribbons or tapes. But they can also be used by themselves as stringing material or to create embellishments. Silk beading and knotting thread and transparent filament yarns are often used in beadweaving and beadwork. Yarn can be used to knit or crochet trims like rosettes. Pompoms can be made using woolen or acrylic yarn. Embroidery thread or silk thread could be used to make tassels or to wrap cords for bracelets and necklaces. Zari thread (combination of metallic yarn with silk or cotton thread) can add shine to your piece and make it feel luxurious.
p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px 'Trebuchet MS'; -webkit-text-stroke: #000000} span.s1 {font-kerning: none}
Bottle necklace with hemp cord and suede tape, braided cord and Gota ribbon pendant, and silk thread bangles
The world of fabric and fiber jewelry is vast and is waiting for you to explore. I have only written about the tip of the ice berg here. Though the wide array of available trims can make it confusing for a beginner, working with them can be truly pleasurable. As you embark on this journey, I invite you to visit my blog Jewels of Sayuri, facebook page, and Instagram handle for eclectic inspiration.

Author Bio: Divya N is a Fashion and jewelry designer who loves to travel, read and sleep in. This amateur photographer and blogger from India spends her days teaching fashion communication. Huge thanks to Divya for sharing her knowledge and wisdom on this subject! Feel free to ask any questions you may have. And, as I go through this series, let me know if there's a topic you can cover in more detail than I have.

Bracelets You Can Make In Under An Hour
Yesterday afternoon Hubs and I loaded Gracie in the car and traveled north to fight with other mall shoppers and exchanged a few gifts. There wasn’t as big of a crowd as we had anticipated, so we finished up shopping quickly and headed out for a nice bite to eat at our favorite Pho restaurant. On the way home the NJDOT had updated the highway boards to warn of the winter storm that would be…

Halloweenie Switch Witch 2017
FAQ: I’m going to compress my answers to similar questions up here at the top - the lesser asked/more unique questions will be below in the order asked.
Soaps, lotions, etc: Yes to almost all lotions, as long as the scent is light or non-existent and there’s no coloring - whips, butters, etc especially as hugely dry skin over most of our bodies is a thing. Face products, I’m normal right in the middle, with occasional moderate t-zone oiliness but not a lot. Hand soaps in pumps like for bathrooms and kitchens are a yes, again with light scent and no color. Shampoos/conditioners, etc - my hair is dry but my scalp is (usually) oily with occasional dandruff issues. It’s wavy-curly or frizzy yuck depending on how lucky I am on any given day. I am very intrigued by hair glosses though I’ve never used them. This all applies regardless of brand/maker! Also, I take showers and not baths, so scrubs are way preferrable to bombs, etc.
Candles: Not scented, please, but soy and beeswax are good! Not standard parafin ones. Migraine-prone folk are triggerd by them as is my asthmatic daughter. I’m guessing this would also be true of wax tarts. Essential oils are a good option instead, though!
Cosmetics: I’m pretty basic in my needs, here. If I’m splurging I use Artistry, if I’m not I usually get Almay or Physician’s Formula from the closest drug store. Halloween-specific - I have a goth themed party to go to and thought I would try going for a Fairuza Balk circa The Craft look. Things to facillitate that would be great! There was a particularly cool lip stuff in a facebook ad yesterday, but I didn’t save it. Alas!
Homemade (knitted, crocheted, sewn, etc): Yes, please! I would love hand/wrist warmers, I love quilted things that aren’t blankets (bags, etc) and make them often but never for myself, and there are probably other things I’m not thinking of that I’d adore. Like comfy, seasonally appropriate pajama pants in an XL/16/18-ish size. Homemade food: Yes, please! If it will survive the trip to me, I’m sure I’d love it. Especially things pumpkin or apple.
Candy: Yes, please! Chocolate (milk is best), candy corn, toffee, pretty much everything.
Any non-BPAL scents: Sure! I think you’ve got a few good hints in my original questionaire, so just let me know if you have any more specific questions.
Comic Con stuff: Sure!
9/26/17 What are your top three most wanted DC'd or previous LE BPALs? TINTAGEL!!!!!!! Lamb’s Wool. What are some things you do NOT want to receive? Uh . . . probably nudes? Unless they’re tasteful and seasonally appropriate.
9/25/17 Anyone like/want calendars or dayplanners? I already have mine for this year, but have my eye on a commit30 for next year. I do school year (August through July) planners cos kids. If you like stationery, do you like plain, colors, images, or specific DON'T LIKES? I’m not a big fan of pink as a general rule, but with other things it’s okay. As my penmanship is pretty terrible and difficult to read, I tend to go with plain, or color block type stuff. What about general desk stuff like cool colored paperclips and post it pads? Always! But don’t spend a ton on it if you’re so inclined, because it will probably get appropriated by a DI team. Would anyone be interested in having any of Abigail Larson's artwork (either as a print or on something, like a pillow, blanket, or t-shirt)? https://society6.com/abigaillarson Ooh, yes please! I could totally use a throw or two for my living room, and pillows for my couch. Furniture is orange-y brown leather, carpet is beige-y brown, walls are off white. So something that doesn’t clash terribly would be cool! And I can always use t-shirts. Does anything catch your eye from Ten Thousand Villages? http://www.tenthousandvillages.com/ Nothing particularly speaks to me, but I have a feeling it would be different if I were wandering through a store rather than a website. Would you be into receiving hand made (crocheted, sewn, felted, chain maille, scale, or duct tape, in my case, depending on the item) dishclothes? Scarf/shawl? Hat? Bag? Anything? Colors? (Duct tape, chain maille, and scales come in colors.) Yes! Always yes to the handmade things. I would love a rainbow chainmail necklace (choker or slightly longer) like the first picture, or bracelet like the second.
Do you collect anything from SBUX like City Mugs, City Mug ornaments, City Cards, or Bearistas? If so, which do you need/want? Or would you like a City Mug or an ornament for fun? 9/24/17 do you collect the art cards that BPAL sends out? Any in particular that you are looking for or definitely don't need? I haven’t ever gotten any, I don’t think! Favorite animals or wild creatures or mythological creatures? Real animals, wild edition: Giraffes, foxes, otters - real animals, domesticated: dogs - mythological animals: harpies, griffins, phoenixes would you like any swag from the Depeche Mode concert? Is anyone interested in the new Resistance scents that the Lab just released (Take a Knee and SN: Flor de Maga)? Yes, both. Is anyone here into zero waste, plastic free living, urban homesteading, or any simplicity/minimalism-esque lifestyles? If so, could you use any tools or equipment? I try to minimize our waste and plastic, otherwise no. I don’t knkow what tools/equipment might be used!
9/23/17 I am possibly going to a crystal / gem show tomorrow. I can't afford expensive gem stones, but... What kind of crystals would you like? Pretty ones! I have a particular affinity for soapstone in various colors. Pumpkin or Zucchini bread? Yes, please! What kind of homemade cookies are your favorite? Oatmeal raisin. Could you use a muscle rub? (We make ours on the lunar cycle and it has menthol, wintergreen, habanero, cayenne, olive oil, st. john's wort, arnica, beeswax, calendula, and ginger. It tingles. We call it "Thunder Butter". If you have really really super sensitive skin, I would recommend against it. And don't take a hot shower or open all of your pores before using it.) Yes, please! Interested in trying some of our rose petal (rose petals, sugar, everclear) or lavender vanilla bean (lavender, vanilla bean, vodka) liqueur? Oooh, either, both. Want some honey from the bees on our property? Yes, please! Would you like some homemade jam? I have blackberry, rose petal, strawberry rhubarb, peach, and cherry. Yum! Absolutely. I didn't dry any apples this year but I was thinking of heading over to Green Bluff and seeing if any honeycrisps are left. I have a commercial dehydrator so let me know if you are interested in any "Apple Crips" (as voodoocatwoman calls them!) I wash, peel, core, and slice before dehydrating. !!!!!!!Zomg yes please!!!!!! Cinnamon Apple Scotch Mallows, Pumpkin spice truffles, pumpkinspice lollypops, caramel apple lollypops, or any other of their chocolates, etc? I think this warrants its own answer, despite the answer about candy in the FAQ, just because of the cinnamon apple mallows. Those sound amazing. Are any witchees into coloring books? Yes! But normal kid coloring books with big spaces, etc. Adult coloring books with all the tiny, tiny spaces give me anxiety. Witchees, is there anything that catches your eye at Animi Causa (https://www.animicausa.com/shop/)? Scratch map and stamp map look especially cool. Other than that, not so much. Include as specific as you want to get! Nice yarns, pretty fabrics! Also, photography and woodwork.
9/19/17 Are you interested in anything from Think Geek? http://www.thinkgeek.com Always! There are so many cool things there. If you could decorate your house (or one room) in any one theme, what would it be? Your answer can be as simple ("Star Wars" or "Baroque" or "Modern"), or complicated or a combination (e.g. Victorian Gothic) as you feel best fits. I can give you color combinations! I would do my kitchen around a countertop made of recycled bottles - the blue and white one. And I would use a lot of the Dutch blue dishes motif. Or maybe citrus-y colors, with citrus prints. Or . . . I don’t know, I’m indecisive. Aprons: Do you wear them, do you want one? Utility, decorative, cooking or crafting? I don’t, really, but wish I did! I love the idea of some of the cooler ones. BTW, would my witchee be interested in something like this? (photo of black and white striped knitted doll) Not particularly, sorry.

If so, would you prefer a traditional style or a vertical door type? I love this! I would like either. A vertical door one would go on my door, a banner would go on my windows. Do you live near a Trader Joe's? If not, are you interested in trying any of the numerous Pumpkin goodies they come out with this time every year? I do live near a Trader Joe’s, but the close one is kind of bleh and I almost never go there. I also live near an Aldi! I would still love pumpkin things. Do you like to cook and/or bake? Could you use any specific ingredients (spices, oils, salts, extracts, etc.) or kitchen utensils/gadgets? I like to cook, I love to bake. I could use loaf pans (normal size and mini) and muffin tins - the big ones for, like, Costco/Sam’s size muffins. Also, recipes are always good. I'm at Ocean City MD for bike week......would a witches want anything from here? Bike or beach related? Bike, meh. Beach, sure! I like shells and rocks. Leafy!

Would you be interested in a set of hand-made hair falls? It's something I do for fun and I can make any length and do an array of colors! Sure! I made them a couple times (once with yarn/ribbon, once with that tube-y stuff), and they are really fun to make.
For those who watch certain movies every year for Halloween, what are those movies, whether horror or not? Any favorite horror movies that aren't necessarily on the annual-viewing list? How do you feel about fan-made merch for these movies? I like thriller more than horror, as do most of my family. CD, 8 track tape, mix tape, Pandora or Spotify, I-tunes? CD (mixes are good) or Pandora/Spotify, mostly. I have a record player and am way interested in vinyl as well. Do you prefer reading on Kindle or actual book? What kind of books do you like? Would you like to be surprised with a scary, classic, horror book? I prefer regular books but find myself doing more reading on my tablet (Kindle or Nook) or by audiobook these days. I would love a scary, classic horror book in any format. Witchee: are you interested in crafting materials? Sure! Sewing notions are always a thing. Yarn, cool duct tape, altoid tins, scrapbook paper, fabric, whatever!
9/11/17
I'm in Japan, is there anything specific from here you would want? All the Hello Kitty/Sanrio things! Especially Kuromi. How do you feel about nail wraps? If you could be ANY character from a film, TV show or book, who would it be and why? Ahhhhh, good question. And one I don’t really know how to answer. If you could hop into a time machine and travel anywhere/anytime, where would it be and why? I have no whys beyond a love of history and a one-time involvment in the Society for Creative Anachronisms, but medieval/renaissance Europe, particularly the British Isles and/or the Austro-Hungarian Empire and/or Scandinavia. Ooh, that sounds lovely - for peace at home, for prosperity and good fortune, for focus and balance . . . Do you like poetry? Yes, very much, though I’ve fallen out of the habit of reading it. Oh, and apparently I’m amassing a collection of tarot decks.

I drink this stuff almost everyday would anyone else be interested in trying it out? https://www.criobru.com/ I’ll try almost anything once, and this sounds pretty fantastic. On a side note, I could also use a plastic-walled (or pyrex type instead of regular glass) French press.

Crochet Layered Choker Necklace with Pendant or Charm Tutorial and Pattern
Crochet Layered Choker Necklace with Pendant or Charm Tutorial and Pattern
This was such a fun project to crochet! I really wanted to jump into designing a few crochet jewelry items because I had some Aunt Lydia’s and Artiste #10 crochet thread laying around for quite some time now. I never really invested the time to put those to use. So this is my very first crochet choker design and I am so pleased to be able to share it with you! I love the mystery and sensual look…

Final Evaluation
Final Evaluation My research throughout this project was effective towards my samples and towards my outcome, for example, I used the tribe research to inspire me to create the choker on my final design. Looking at different plaits inspired different knitting and through this I learnt a lot. I also learnt how to crochet which again I did different things with. I did consider different textures of the materials I used for example if the wool was thick when finger knitting it was really good but if you used thin wool gaps would appear and its effect was lost. My theme was African Caribbean hairstyle; this was something I loved looking at and finding out in depth about. I decided for my concept I would do tribes, this worked very well with my theme as their hair was the same if they grew it, but also some would wear metal and objects in their hair, this was very inspiring throughout my project and led me to my final piece. We did two challenges; the 20 design challenge and the photo shop challenge, these both wanted the same type of outcome (a design). I thought that I would find the photoshop one easier and more sufficient but when it came to it, I much preferred the 20 design challenge because it was more free and you were able to shape around the body and the flow seemed more natural. Doing research on constructive textiles was hard at the start but then I found a few people who were very interesting to read about and see what they had created. Many of these inspired me and led me to try new things, unconventional tools to knit with and things I wouldn't have thought of before. This research helped me develop my samples into more creative ideas, for example I knitted and then I knitted with wire just to try something different. After all the research I came up with an idea for my final piece. My final piece worked with both my theme and my concept, I used little metal pieces to show the tribes had inspired me also the choker a the top of it was because I had seen that some tribes wear long things around there neck all the time to stretch their necks out as long as possible. Also the African hair looks and feels a lot like the tassels that I've used, they took me a very long time because I stitched over them to create and effect/ pattern. If I did do this again I would make sure I had it thicker underneath because at the moment it does run a little thin. Without doing at the samples that I completed beforehand I don't think I would have had such a good outcome because each time they developed I liked them more and more and could see what would work in the design best. My blog https//:georgiasmith-hairproject.tumblr.com was really good I really enjoyed doing it and I believe it has helped my project. In reflection the only problem with it was that it didn't really have enough visual elements like photos and videos, it was a lot of writing which doesn't appeal to a lot of people.
