(Samidoun Network) Free Mohammed Arman Birzeit University's past student Council President, Jailed without charge or trial On 27 October 2024, Zionist occupation forces renewed the administrative detention- imprisonment without charge or trial- of Mohammed Nidal Arman, past president of the Birzeit University Student Council and sixth-year student in Accounting for an additional 6 months. Mohammed, from Ein Yabroud East of Ramallah, was elected president of the Birzeit Student Council on 2 October 2023, following the arrest and imprisonment of then President Abdel Majeed Hassan. He was abducted by the occupation one month later, on 2 November 2023, and ordered to 6 months of administrative detention. His detention was renewed again in May, and now once more. Mohammed Arman has been abducted by the occupation on multiple previous occasions. In May 2022, he was arrested and beaten by occupation soldiers on the eve of the university elections, as one of a group of 7 leaders of the Islamic Bloc. They were targeted as part of the ongoing attempts of the occupation to interfere with the student movement. On that occasion, he served 9 months in Zionist jails. This came only four months after his release in January 2022 from 8 months of imprisonment in Zionist jails, where he was also targeted for his student work and activism. In January 2024, Saleh Hasan was elected president of the Birzeit University Student Council to succeed Mohammed as he remains a prisoner in the occupation's jails. He emphasized the continuity of the student movement and loyalty to the path of Abdel-Majeed Hassan and Mohammed Arman, who he called "the heads of the Prisoner's Council". Mohammed Arman is among over 150 Birzeit University students jailed by the occupation and approximately 3,500 Palestinians jailed without charge or trial under administrative detention - among over 10,000 Palestinian prisoners of the occupation. This number does not even include the thousands kidnapped from Gaza by the genocidal invading forces. Free Mohammed Arman and all Palestinian prisoners!

on twitter, a viral thread started where people around the world shared their translations of “If I must die”, the last work of Dr Refaat Alareer also known as "the voice of Gaza". A beloved poet, teacher and life-long activist for Palestine, he was recently assassinated along with members of his extended family by a targeted Israeli air strike. His loss leaves a hole in the heart of palestinians all over the world.

Countdown for Farah's fundraiser!

Farah (@farahmoo2) recently posted a goal of making it to 10K last week.

We now have less than 4 days to meet the 10K mark, and we're still only at €5,333. The last donation was made 5 hours ago.

So let me give you a little run-down on Farah for those who do not know a lot about her:

Farah is an 18 year-old girl who is the little sister of Nesma (@nesmamomen), who has been vetted by @/el-shab-hussein and shared here by @/nabulsi. While Farah was supposed to have graduated high school this year and gone on to university, her studies were interrupted by occupier bombardment in October 2023. When the biggest problems in Farah's life should be making it to her 8AM class or wondering why her experimental density measurement in chem lab is so different to the theoretical one, she is instead living in constant fear, at risk of being killed everyday when she makes the long trip outside her neighbourhood just to get internet to campaign online. She suffers from a lack of resources such as food, running water, medicine, sanitary supplies, and decent shelter. She suffers alongside her family, having to watch her father be captured and tortured, and her brother being severely injured during bombardment.

I have been chatting with Farah for a few days now and she is a lovely person. While she was in school, she enjoyed biology and physics. She wants to go to university to study medicine, but she hasn't decided whether to go into general or dentistry yet. Her mother wants her to go to Egypt to study, but she wants to go to Europe. She has also been disappointed at the recent stagnation of her fundraiser. She is, and I repeat, 18, and should not have to be worrying about this or putting herself in danger just to get funding! Farah is also uncomfortable because the place she travels so far to get wifi is also full of men. These conditions are not ideal. She deserves to be in school!

Please do whatever it takes to help Farah meet her goal. Do not just share here; share it other social media, too. Share it to your family or friends. Bug them repeatedly if you have too.

📹 The heavily militarized American police continue to violently suppress student protests against the Israeli occupation's ongoing genocide in Gaza.

Police have assaulted and arrested over 900 demonstrators since April 18th, in service of the Israeli occupation and US defense contractors profiting off the genocide of Palestinians.

UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Turk, on Thursday condemned the ongoing lsraeli violence in Gaza as death toll surpasses 40,000.

Turk said that the situation is"overwhelmingly due" to the lsraeli military's failure to "comply with the rules of war."
