It's been 30 years since Freddie Mercury died, even tho I was born a few years after his death, he's really important to me. Usually I would draw something for a post like this, but I couldn't because well, time, so I decided to talk about this pin instead. It was given to me as a gift, last year, from a friend who went to London and knew I love Queen, it is also my only pride flag.

I was (still am) closeted and overall very confused about my identity, I couldn’t go around speaking openly about my queerness, painting a flag wherever I liked or doing any kind of loud and proud self expression, as much as I wanted to. But I could wear this pin, I could put it on my backpack along with my other ones, I could wear it with my Queen shirt, I could talk about how cool Freddie was and sing along to all the songs. I could be proud.

I usually don't write posts this long, but I wanted to put this out there, as my own little thank you for Freddie.
